DETAIL + DEPTH | Continuing with internal rotation of the arms, take two tied-up blocks behind the back at the sacrum, and press the back of the hands into the blocks. As the hands push into the blocks, the elbows will widen back and the pectoralis and anterior deltoid muscles can open and lengthen. Imagine using the sacrum to drag the blocks down toward the floor to reduce overarching the low back. Stay and breathe. (Slide 2)⁣ ⁣ Next, make a small loop with a belt and place it around the wrists with the hands in reverse Anjali Mudra. The easiest way to do this is to wear the loop like a bracelet on one wrist. Bring the hands behind the back and the tips of the fingers together through the loop. As the fingertips press together, increase pressure so eventually the fingers, roots of the fingers and palms touch. Focus on the inner hands making contact to address both mobility and stability of the inner shoulders. If possible, slide the hands up the back. Stay and breathe. 🌿RETREAT🌿 My gremlins know when I’m about to go into retreat. They start dancing, and they suggest I go with them, get naked and dance under the moon. 🌝 Now there’s nothing so wrong about that! But when I want to go wild at the exact moment I am being asked to be still, I know there is something that doesn’t want to be shifted attempting to divert me from the practice.
