Ankama Shop is wild for this…(and i love it)

A few weeks ago, I came across this cute Amalia figurine that I found on the official Ankama shop and I couldn’t resist buying it.

When I eventually received it from the mail not too long ago and opened it, I couldn’t help but snort cuz omg I gotta point something out.

Now first of all, lemme just say that yes, the figurine was gorgeous and beautifully packaged. There were no problems with the figurine itself, nothing was broken.

It’s not the figurine I wanted to address but rather the quote that came along with it.

You see, apparently when you buy a wakfu figurine of a character, they come with a small quote that belongs to them to represent who they are as a person. The quote can come from the game, a manga/webtoon panel, or just the show itself.

Out of all the quotes Ankama could’ve plastered on her, guess what quote they used for her :

Now at first glance, this quote might sound sweet and encapsulates how Amalia is an empath at heart and dislikes bloodshed especially if it’s for something ridiculous and pointless.

BUT IF YOU REMEMBER WHEN AND WHERE SHE SAID THIS, YOU’D THINK ANKAMA WAS TROLLING!!!

She said this when she wasn’t in her right mind and told Yugo he was replaceable when she knew she could get that eliotrope ass instead, are you kidding me-

For the past few months I've been trying to find the volume 8 of Wakfu Making of Saison 1 but this book is impossible to find anywhere secondhand 😭

This volume is about episodes 19 to 22 which I think are some of the more interesting episodes in season 1 (and there's also supposed to 5 pages about Joris in it which is why I'm even more interested in having it..)

There's a few review about this volume from 2012 but they all share the same preview images of the book but I was able to find this review which contain 21 images from the book, sadly some of images links are dead 😓

Some memories from the Ankama convention

It was really amazing to meet everyone and learn a bit more about the behind-the-scenes of this universe! Even though I didn't manage to get autographs from Ancestral Z and Cynthia Leman and had to wait 4 hours to get into the shop (yes, 4 hours... there were a lot of people).

The group of cosplayers was adorable, and it was a pleasure to see faces I only knew through usernames. You might see my face popping up somewhere : )

I went Geek Psycho 100

So I bought a few things from the Ankama shop and I just wanted to say my ass is such a geek for this! Back when I was broker than I am now, I used to want to order from their shop but that shipping cost gave me a dirty look. It looked at me like I was a poor. Which I was… but damn. Now that have a few more dollars I’m okay with the shipping as long as I’m getting my worth (plus shipping from this book store in Canada cost as much as shipping from France. So that made it okay with me as well).

Okay so here is what I got…

Yes…I bought the Yumalia necklace. It’s cute and reflective. If this shit fades in a week of wear I’m gonna be pissed. Because a necklace of this price—$70–should last long. They better have gotten a jewelry expert to test the craftsmanship (though I doubt it). I still think it’d be a good emblem for the new Sadida kingdom.

I ordered the Amalia tofu but they sent me Adamai. He’s cute too but not what I ordered. I want my Amalia Tofu.

So I sent a Missing Item Help Request and have not gotten a response. It's been over 7 days, and I hope they reply. I expect a response this week since France had a 2 day holiday last week. But that would be triflin' if they ghost me.

I was just adding whatever to my cart at this point because if I’m paying $30 in shipping I gotta have a ton of stuff in there (that’s my logic). I like foxes and recall this character from s2 of Wakfu… I think. So into the cart he went.

I got the god Ecaflip piggy bank. I was just browsing the shop to see what they had because they didn’t have anything Wakfu that interested me. And this caught my eye. They had two versions but were sold out of the other version. And the other version is so cute ⬇️

I already have a coin bank!

Yup—the pig from Toy Story! He holds my coin well! Now he and Ecaflip can hold them together! I might start putting my foreign money in Ecaflip or USA dollar coins (which exist but are rare). I have two USA dollar coins because i conned them from my brother. He acquired them from a store but didn’t know what they were. he just thought it was change …but I knew. the moment I saw them, I knew! Muhahaha! I told him after he gave it to me! 😈

I also got free goods!

I wasn’t expecting the bag to be this big!!!!

They give you measurements of the bag but I didn’t convert it to US metrics and just assumed it was standard size. I am 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm). This bag covers most of my torso.

I guess I’m set grocery shopping now! This will be my one trip bag!

Lastly, I got this key chain.

I think it’s ugly…. But it was free so I took it.

Ankama gives you a code to get the bag and keychain for free. They’ll send it via email if you leave something in your cart. They'll email you and try to seduce you to buy it.

The Wakfu category of the Ankama shop was not “giving” to me. I wanted more stuff from the animated series like stickers, art prints, and etc of the cast. Maybe even a cool class hoodie.

They did have Waven stickers of the classes you can play as. I would have bought one if they had Sadida on there but they did not.

Live-Read: "Dofus Manga" - part 1

(But only the bits with Atcham, Kerubim, or Joris.)

I'm sure that someday, I will read this comic. That day is not today, though. Today, we are looking for jurgencrepin content within it. Which isn't a lot, but it is present.

Firstly, I would like to note, that there is an appearance of proto-Kerubim and proto-Khan, in one of the volumes in the 2010-2013 time frame, as figurines. (the guy next to them is not Joris, but a whisperer.)

I do not know which volume, because I do not want to search for them.

To be exact, it seems to be the same proto-Kerubim, as the one that appears in this video, depicting one of the early drafts of the movie. (In this one, I am pretty sure Joris was still meant to be a homeless orphan. And Lilotte was always planned to be either a rogue, a princess or both at the same time.)

Now, onto actually canonically relevant appearances of the Jurgen-Crepins

Dofus: Issue 19

In a Brakmarian shop, Katar (guy who killed Goultard's family, idk, too long, don't know french, didn't read, know him from the short Goultard cartoon) sees a sword and wants to buy it.

It was ordered by a "very renowned Brakmarian ecaflip who will literally kill me if I don't sell it to him, he's That passionate about this sword. Please don't touch it," according to the shopkeep. Who is then promptly literally killed by Katar instead.

This will become relevant to us in a few tomes.

It is revealed that the king Clustus Sheran-Sharm has taken a dragon for his queen, — and it is revealed how that happened via a flashback.

NOTE: Clustus is an ancestor of the king Leorictus Sheran-Sharm (insane war-criminal, cause of the huppermage genocide, a probable target for Joris to have murdersuicide fantasies about, lives ~110 years in the future from Clustus), and Amalia and her family (who, in turn, live ~600 years in the future relative to Clustus, and are now the royal family of Sadida kingdom, and not Bonta.

NOTE: We do not know why Sheran-Sharms are now the royal family of Sadida, but, the king of Bonta that followed Leorictus is named Théome Beldarion, and he was put on the throne by Jiva after Bonta was without a ruler for 70-90 years — it is unknown if he is related to Leorictus or the Sheran-Sharm family in general.

Perhaps, all the warcrimes made it quite literally so that the Sheran-Sharm family had to seek political asylum in neighbouring lands after Leorictus's suicide caused the all hell to break loose and the following years of huppermage persecution ensued. But idk man. I'm not Tot Ankama.

By the way, Clustus is mentioned in the show, multiple times, — but this is the most direct reference that came to my mind.

Anyway.

The group of adventurers, — of which both Kerubim and his majesty Clustus were a part of, — wanted to collect the Dofus to hide them, to keep the world safe.

Kerubim and Crail (a guy, from the manga, don't ask me, man) studied under the same master, — Master Nabur, — albeit, in different years, so they hadn't met during their education.

At the comic's time, Master Nabur has passed away somewhat recently.

Kerubim pulls out his stupid anime armor and the hoes get scared. (Because if Kerubim is excited about a battle, one should be scared about it.)

He will keep wearing this armour for the next 600 years. Even as it loses its golden paint completely. Even though it has a huge-ass hole from that one time he got shot and died in it. Talk about dedication...

I regret to inform you, reader, that I still desire him carnally.

He says that "the probability of the logs hitting us is very small".

Things go as usual after he says that.

The king and the dragon fall in love, the dragon turns into a woman, and the two of them pretend that he rescued her from the dragon.

Only Kerubim realizes this lie due to his "strong ecaflip sense of smell" (honestly thinking it might be the whole "has so many luck buffs he can predict the future and be a medium or something" thing. and the demigod thing. Combined.)

He decides not to tell anyone, saying that everyone deserves a chance, while asking the dragon not to betray the trust he puts in her, by making this decision.

Dofus: Issue 21

I love you, Atcham...

Atcham has found the body of the smith and the fact that his sword is gone-gone. He waxes really poetically and neurodivergently about how much he loves swords and how badly the guy who did this is going to pay. Atcham is never beating the "swords are his special interest" allegations.

My headcanon, which ties into my "Atcham is autistic" agenda, is that when he was a child, weapons became his one way to keep himself safe, — so because of that, he developed a strong emotional attachment to them. (Though all of Jurgen-Crepins are very... passionate, about objects. But Atcham is mostly only like that about swords, in canon.)

Anyway, if Joris has the deragatory nicknames like "shorty", "kid", and "lil guy" constantly applied to him, then Atcham's personal never-ending hell nightmare is various combinations of "disgusting" "dirty" and "rat".

His response to being threatened with hanging for not attending Brakmarian political stuff is "uhh i don't give a sssshit?" and calmly correcting them that he is an ecaflip, not a rat. (They don't care, but he will make them care very, very soon.)

He's literally so funny for this. I am in love with him.

My first post for my SCOLLE blog, here's the cover for the comic!

Scolle is a fan comic based on the Dofus Manga by Ankama. It's an action-adventure fantasy that follows Scolle on his quest to become a Sram while working as a mercenary. He's tasked with capturing the other main character, Arty, who is accompanied by Vald- will he succeed?

The story is set in The World of Twelve, a fantasy world where humans are granted powers depending on the God they worship. It also contains strong LGBT themes, as most of the characters are queer in some way.

I really wish Ankama could just change Amalia's one-piece suit already cuz it's been more than a season now and she's still wearing one outfit.

Give my girl some kind of flashy or pretty outfit now that she's queen, don't just recycle her old outfit and add a cape to it in the manga! You finally have a way to change her design without the budget being in the way SO DO IT.

I don't care if you give her something that we've never seen her wear before, in fact, it would actually be a great breath of fresh air seeing her wearing anything that doesn't stick to her skin like that.

I get that she's supposed to be a royal and all, but she's still a sadida, so seeing her wear LAYERS OF OUTFIT TO THE POINT WHERE WE CAN'T EVEN SEE HER KNEES is really weird to me.

Like, I wouldn't mind if we saw her wear that outfit in one season, but if she's wearing the same thing for over two seasons, we're gonna have a problem.

There's no way Amalia, a fashionista and a shopaholic, still keeps wearing the same shit that she was wearing before she was queen. AND ON HER FREAKING WEDDING TOO ‼️‼️‼️‼️ It still bothered me that she wore her one-piece at her wedding like girl what are you doing? You're the type who LOVES wearing extravagances, especially when it's YOUR TIME TO SHINE.

Now that the animation budget isn't in your way, make her wear a leafy dress in the manga or a more refined version of her mother's dress, at least! You can even give her an improved version of her season 1 outfit and make her wear it whenever she's taking a break from her queen responsibilities and you can also show us some cute sleep dresses she could wear while sle-

For one, as I mentioned above, Amalia is the fashionista type and LOVES shopping. So much so, that she was even willing to fight off a shop owner in Bonta despite not having a single kama on her.

Two, she still loves to party, as said by Yugo in the Great Wave manga, so she would still have habits of shopping and trying out new outfits, which are, you know, FEMININE TRAITS ‼️‼️

Cathiane, what happened while you were drawing volume 1? Did Tot force you to keep her tomboyish bland outfit with Armand's cape? Who has you at gun point???

Taking out her feminity by claiming that it is "the emancipation of her feminity" doesn't make any sense because SHE'S NOT THE TYPE TO DO THAT.

I initially believed that the reason why she chose to wear this outfit in season 3 was because she wasn't in the right space of mind and did not feel like herself when her father was slowly dying and her brother was getting manipulated by a chicken.

But now that she's happier and feeling much better with Yugo, the only thing that she changed about her outfit was THE FUCKING LEAF'S COLOR IN THE FRONT.

This is criminal. It's literally illegal to be this bad towards her. Where's her creativity? Where's her feminity? She can still be feminine AND be a boss-ass bitch at the same time.

You can still show her maturity without feeling the need to make her wear pants.

Ankama, stop playing with my head. I need to see her wear anything else than that damned one-piece suit at least once. I don't care what the new outfit will look like, but seeing her semi-naked in volume 1 doesn't count.

I kinda want to buy the classic figure for Count Frigost because it's on sale on the Ankama Shop right now but with what happened with Arthur Bine I feel like it would be safer if I bought Count Frigost seconhand. I wouldn't want to have to fix him.

Like I said, a bit pricey, but apparently it's good quality.

Can't wait to get my hands on it~

For those interested, it's sold in the ankama shop, you can just tap that in google and it should find it. Though I'm not entirely sure they ship to every country, it's worth a try. There are a lot of other goodied, especially pins and tote bags plus a plush of Mr Boobrie ! It's worth going through the whole Radiant tag in the shop, there are some really nice items and at decent prices.

It was announced a while ago but all Wakfu seasons (and ova), mini Wakfu episodes and special episodes (ogrest, nox) are available in a DVD pack on Ankama shop !

There is a collector edition and a regular edition.

Both edition contains a sticker sheet.

The collector edition includes a patch "Rubilax eye", a keychain, a card to download the soundtracks, a sticker sheet "Rubilax eye", an item for the Wakfu MMO "costume of the watchmaker" and a Oropo figure (5cm).

The episodes are only in French, I don't see any mention of subtitles. DVD are zone 2 only.

The collector edition is limited to 500 copies.

It is currently in preorder and will ship during November.
