Seeing The Beauty (Piper Mclean x Fem!Reader) - Chapter 2
Chapter 1
Series Masterlist
Main Masterlist
Here I am, actually posting something :0
I know it's something a lot of people won't read, but this is a fic I'm passionate about, and what I decided to work on :)
Tumblr media
The storm churns into a miniature hurricane. Funnel clouds snakes towards the skywalk like the tendrils of a monster jellyfish.
Students scream and run for the building. The wind snatches away their notebooks, jackets - including (Y/n)'s black bomber, revealing heavily scarred arms - hats, and backpacks. Both Jason and (Y/n) skid across the slick floor.
Leo loses his balance and almost topples over the railing, but (Y/n) grabs his jacket, pulling him back.
"Thanks, man," Leo yells.
"Go, go, go!" orders Coach Hedge.
Piper and Dylan are holding the doors open, herding the other kids inside. Piper's snowboarding jacket is flapping wildly, her dark hair all in her face. Jason thinks that she must've been freezing, but Piper looks calm and confident - telling the others it would be okay, encouraging them to keep moving.
Jason, Leo, (Y/n), and Coach Hedge runs towards them, but it is like running through quicksand. The wind seems to fight them, pushing them back.
Dylan and Piper push one more kid inside, then lose their grip on the doors. They slam shut, closing off the skywalk.
Piper tugs at the handles. Inside, the kids pound on the glass, but the door seems to be stuck.
"Dylan, help!" Piper shouts over the roar of the wind.
Dylan just stands there with an idiotic grin, his Cowboys jersey rippling in the wind, like he is suddenly enjoying the storm.
"Sorry, Piper," he says. "I'm done helping." He flicks his wrist, and Piper flies backwards, slamming into the doors and sliding to the skywalk deck.
"Piper!" Jason and (Y/n) try to charge forward, but the wind is against them, and Coach Hedge pulls them back.
"Coach," Jason protests, "let me go!"
"Jason, (Y/n), Leo, stay behind me," the coach orders. "This is my fight. I should've known that was our monster."
"What?" Leo demands. A rogue worksheet slaps him in the face, but he swats it away. "What monster?"
The coach's cap blows off and sticking up above his curly hair are two bumps - like the knots cartoon characters get when they're bonked on the head. Coach Hedge lifts his baseball bat - but it isn't a regular bat anymore. Somehow, it had changed into a crudely shaped tree-branch club, with twigs and leaves still attached.
Dylan gives  him that psycho happy smile. "Oh, come on, Coach. Let the boy attack me! After all, you're getting too old for this. Isn't that why they retired you to this stupid school? I've been on your team the entire season, and you didn't even know. You're losing your nose, grandpa."
The coach makes an angry sound like an animal bleating. "That's it, cupcake. You're going down!"
"You think you can protect four half-bloods at once, old man?" Dylan cackles. "Good luck." Dylan points at Leo, and a funnel cloud materializes around him. Leo flies off the skywalk like he'd been tossed. Somehow, he manages to wrist in midair, and slams slideways into the canyon wall. He skids, clawing furiously for any handhold. Finally, he grabs a thin ledge about fifty feet below the skywalk, and hangs there by his fingertips.
"Help!" he yells up at them. "Rope, please? Bungee cord? Something?"
Coach Hedge curses and tosses Jason his club. "I don't know who you are, kid, but I hop you're good. Keep that thing busy" - he stabs a thumb at Dylan - "while I get Leo."
"Get him how?" (Y/n) demands. "You going to fly?"
"Not fly. Climb," Hedge kicks off his shoes, and (Y/n) almost has a coronary. The coach didn't have any feet. He has hooves - goat's hooves. Which means those things on his head, (Y/n) realizes, weren't bumps. They were horns.
"You're a faun," Jason exclaims.
"Satyr!" Hedge snaps. "Fauns are Roman. But we'll talk about that later."
Hedge leaps over the railing. He sails towards the canyon wall and hits hooves first. He bounds down the cliff with impossible agility, finding footholds - Hoofholds? (Y/n) wonders - no bigger than postage stamps, dodging whirlwinds that try to attack him as he picks his way towards Leo.
"Isn't that cute!" Dylan turns toward Jason. "Now it's your turn, boy." Dylan ignores (Y/n) for the time being, and (Y/n) uses the moment to pull the pen from her pocket again.
Jason throws the Coach's club. It seems useless with the winds so strong, but the club flies right at Dylan, even curving when he tries to dodge, and smacks him on the head so hard he falls to his knees.
Piper isn't as dazed as she appears. Her fingers close around the club when it rolls next to her, but before she can use it, Dylan rises. Blood - golden blood - tickles from his forehead. "Nice try, boy." He glares at Jason. "But you'll have to do better."
The skywalk shudders. Hairline fractures appear in the glass. Inside the museum, kids stop banging on the doors. They back away, watching in terror.
Dylan's body dissolves into smoke, as if his molecules are coming unglued. He has the same face, the same brilliant white smile, but his whole form is suddenly composed of swirling black vapor, his eyes like electrical sparks in a living storm cloud. He sprouts black smoky wings and rises above the skywalk. If angels could be evil, Jason decides, they would look exactly like this.
"You're a ventus," Jason says, though he had no idea how he knew that word. "A storm spirit!"
Dylan's laugh sounds like a tornado tearing off a roof. "I'm glad I waited, demigod. Leo and Piper I've known about for weeks. Could've killed them at any time. But my mistress said two more were coming - something special. She'll reward me greatly for your death!"
Two  more  funnel  clouds  touch  down  on  either  side  of  Dylan  and turn  into venti - ghostly  young  men  with  smoky  wings  and  eyes  that flicker with lightning.
Piper stays down, pretending to be dazed, her hand still gripping the club.  Her  face  is  pale,  but  she  gives  Jason and (Y/n) determined  looks,  and  he understands the message: Keep their attention. I'll brain them from behind.
Smart and violent, Jason wishes he remembered having Piper as a girlfriend.
Jason clenches his fists and gets ready to charge, but he never gets a chance.
Dylan raises his hand, arcs of electricity running between his fingers, and blasts Jason in the chest.
Jason finds himself flat on his back. His mouth tastes like burning aluminum foil. He lifts his head and sees that his clothes are smoking. The lightning bolt had gone straight through his body and blasts off his left shoe; his toes are black with soot.
The storm spirits are laughing. The wind rages. Piper is screaming defiantly, but it all sounds tinny and far away.
Instinctually, she uncaps the pen still in her hand, and suddenly (Y/n) is holding a sword - a shimmering bronze sword with a double-edged blade, a leather-wrapped grip and a flat hilt riveted with gold studs.
(Y/n) tests the weight of the sword in her hand. (Y/n) can't tell who's more surprised, herself, or the storm spirits.
Dylan snarls and backs up. He looks at his two comrades and yells, "Well? Kill her!"
The other storm spirits don't look happy with that order, by they fly at (Y/n), their fingers crackling with electricity.
(Y/n) jabs at the first spirit; her blade passes through it, and the creature's smoky form disintegrates into golden powder.
The second spirit lets loose a bolt of lightning, and (Y/n) is blasted back into the glass doors.
(Y/n) slides down the doors beside Piper, her sword sliding out of her hand and skittering off the side of the skywalk and into the canyon.
"Shit," (Y/n) curses, staggering to her feet.
Then Coach Hedge leaps back onto the skywalk and dumps Leo like a sack of flour. "Spirits, fear me!" Hedge bellows, flexing his short arms. Then he looks around and realizes that Dylan was the only spirit left - Jason dispelled the other. "Curse it, boy!" he snaps at Jason. "Didn't you leave some for me? I like a challenge!"
Leo gets to his feet, breathing hard. He looks completely humiliated, his hands bleeding from clawing at the rocks. "Yo, Coach Supergoat, whatever you are - I just fell down the freaking Grand Canyon! Stop asking for challenges!"
Dylan hisses at them, but Jason can see fear in his eyes. "You have no idea how many enemies you've awakened, half-bloods. My mistress will destroy all demigods. This war you cannot win."
Above them, the storm explodes into a full-force gale. Cracks expand in the skywalk. Sheets of rain pour down, and Jason has to crouch to keep his balance.
A hole opens in the clouds - a swirling vortex of black and silver.
"The mistress calls me back!" Dylan shouts with glee. "And you, demigod, will come with me!"
He lunges at Jason, but Piper tackles the monster from behind. Even though he is made of smoke, Piper somehow manages to make contact; both of them go sprawling. Leo, Jason, (Y/n), and the coach surge forward to help, but the spirit screams with rage. Dylan lets loose a torrent that knocks the four onto their buts. Jason's sword skids across the glass. Leo hits the back of his head and curls up on his side, dazed and groaning.
Piper gets the worst of it. She is thrown off Dylan's back and hits the railing, tumbling over the side until she is hanging by one hand over the abyss.
(Y/n) gets to her feet, sprinting and vaulting over the side of the railing, grabbing the railing - and Piper's wrist.
Piper stares at (Y/n).
Are you insane?! Piper's gaze seems to say.
Probably, (Y/n) reads Piper's expression. (Y/n) didn't remember Piper, but Piper clearly trusted her, and (Y/n) would not let her die.
(Y/n)'s grip tightens on the railing, and she tries to pull Piper up.
"Hey!" Piper yells, seeing the sweat beading on (Y/n)'s forehead. "We could use some help over here!"
Jason starts towards them, but Dylan screams, "I'll settle for this one!" He grabs Leo's arm and begins to rise, towing a half-concious Leo below him. The storm spins faster, pulling them upwards like a vacuum cleaner.
"Help! Somebody!" Piper yells. And then, her hands slick with sweat, Piper slips out of (Y/n)'s grip, screaming as she falls.
"Jason, go!" Hedge yells. "Save her."
(Y/n) hauls herself up and over the railing, staring down at Piper's figure plummeting towards the little river at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
The coach launches himself at the spirit, lashing out with his hooves, knocking Leo free from the spirit's grasp. Leo drops safely to the floor, but Dylan grapples the coach's arms instead. Hedge tries to head-butt him, then kicks him and calls him a cupcake. They rise into the air, gaining speed.
Coach Hedge shouts down once more, "Save her! I got this!" Then the satyr and the storm spirit spiral into the clouds and disappear.
Save her? Jason thinks. She's gone! But again, his instincts win. He runs to the railing, thinking I'm a lunatic, and jumps over the side.
. . .
Jason isn't scared of heights. He is scared of being smashed against the canyon floor five hundred feet below. He figures he hadn't accomplished anything other than dying along with Piper, but he tucks in his arms and plummets headfirst. The sides of the canyon race past like a film on fast-forward; his face feels like it is peeling off.
In a heartbeat, he catches up with Piper, who is flailing wildly. He tackles her waist and closes his eyes, waiting for death.
Piper screams.
The wind whistles in Jason's ears.
He wonders what dying would feel like. He is thinking, Probably not so good. He wishes somehow they could never hit the bottom.
Suddenly, the wind dies. Piper's scream turns into a strangled gasp. Jason thinks that they must be dead, but he hadn't felt any impact.
"J-j-jason," Piper manages.
Jason opens his eyes; they aren't falling. They are floating in midair, a hundred feet above the river. Jason hugs Piper tight, and she repositions herself so she is hugging him too. They are nose to nose. Her heart beats so hard, Jason can feel it through her clothes.
Piper's breath smells like cinnamon. She says, "How did you -"
"I didn't," Jason says . "I think I would know if I could fly..." But then he thinks, I don't even know who I am.
Jason imagines going up; Piper yelps as they shoot a few feet higher. We aren't exactly floating, Jason decides. He can feel pressure under his feet, like they are balancing at the top of a geyser.
"The air is supporting us," Jason says.
"Well, tell it to support us more! Get us out of here!"
Jason looks down. The easiest thing would be to sink gently to the canyon floor. Then he looks up. The rain had stopped. The storm clouds don't seem as bad, but they are still rumbling and flashing. There was no guarantee the spirits were gone for good. He had no idea what had happened to Coach Hedge. And he'd left Leo up there, barely conscious, with a most likely guilty (Y/n).
"We have to help them," Piper says, as if reading Jason's thoughts. "Can you -"
"Let's see." Jason thinks, Up!, and instantly, they shoot skyward.
The fact he is riding the winds might've been cool under different circumstances, but Jason is too much in shock. As soon as they land on the skywalk, they run to Leo, (Y/n) sitting beside him, looking dazed and guilty - just as Jason had guessed.
Piper turns Leo over, and he groans. Leo's army coat is soaked from the rain. His curly hair glitters gold from rolling around in monster dust. But at least he isn't dead.
"Stupid . . . ugly . . . goat," Leo mutters.
"Where'd he go?" Piper questions.
Leo points straight up. "Never came down. Please tell me he didn't actually save my life."
"Twice," (Y/n) replies, studying the - possibly hundreds - of scars lacing her arms.
Leo groans even louder. "What happened? The tornado guy, the bronze and gold swords . . . I hit my head. That's it, right? I'm hallucinating?"
Jason had forgotten about his sword. He walks over to where it was lying and picks it up. The blade is well balanced. On a hunch he flips it; midspin, the sword shrinks back into a coin and lands in his palm.
(Y/n) reaches into her pocket, studying her pen before uncapping it, the ballpoint lengthening to the three and a half foot long bronze sword.
"Yep," Leo says. "Definitely hallucinating."
Piper shivers in her rain-soaked clothes. "Jason, those things -"
"Venti," Jason interrupts. "Storm spirits."
"Okay," Piper stares at Jason. "You acted like . . . like you'd seen them before. Who are you?"
Jason shakes his head. "That's what I've been trying to tell you. I don't know."
The storm dissipates. The other kids from the Wilderness School are staring out the glass doors in horror. Security guards are working on the locks, but they don't seem to be having any luck."
"Coach Hedge said he had to protect four people," (Y/n) thinks aloud, touching the tip of her sword with a finger and watching it shrink back into a pen. "I'm ninety-five percent sure he meant us."
"And that thing Dylan turned into . . ." Piper shudders. "God, I can't believe it was hitting on me. He called us . . . what, demigods?"
Leo lies on his back, staring at the sky. He doesn't seem anxious to get up. "Don't know what demi means," he replies. "But I'm not feeling too godly. You guys feeling godly?"
(Y/n) lets out a snort of laughter, but then there is brittle sound like dry twigs snapping, and the cracks in the skywalk begin to widen.
"We need to get off this thing," Jason says.
"Maybe if we -"
"Ohh-kay," Leo interrupted. "Look up there and tell me if those are flying horses."
At first Jason thinks Leo had hit his head too hard. Then he sees a dark shape descending from the east - too slow for a plane, too large for a bird. As it got closer he can see a pair of winged animals - one black and one gray, four-legged, exactly like horses - except each one had a twenty-foot wingspan. The horses are pulling a brightly painted box with two wheels: a chariot.
"Reinforcements," (Y/n) says. "Hedge told me an extraction squad was coming for us."
"Extraction squad?" Leo struggles to his feet. "That sounds painful."
Jason watches as the chariot lands on the far end of the skywalk. The flying horses tuck in their wings and canter nervously across the glass, as if they sense it was near breaking. Two teenagers stand in the chariot - a tall blond girl maybe a little older than Jason, and a bulky dude with a shaved head and a face like a pile of bricks. They both wear jeans and orange T-shirts like (Y/n)'s, with shields tossed over their backs. The girl leaps off before the chariot had even finished moving. She pulls a knife and runs toward the group while the bulky dude is reining in the horses.
"I'm going to kill you," the blonde girl steps up to (Y/n), whose eyes widen with shock.
"What?" (Y/n) asks, looking so utterly confused that the blonde lowers her knife. "Did I do something to hurt you?" (Y/n)'s eyebrows knit with confusion.
The blonde stares at (Y/n) for a moment, her gray eyes are fierce and a little startling.
"What about Gleeson? Where is your protector, Gleeson Hedge?" she asks.
The coach's first name was Gleeson? Jason might've laughed if the morning hadn't been quite so weird and scary. Gleeson Hedge: football coach, goat man, protector of demigods. Sure. Why not?
Leo clears his throat. "He got taken by some . . . tornado things."
"Venti," Jason clarifies. "Storm spirits."
The blonde girl arches an eyebrow. "You mean anemoi thuellai? That's the Greek term. Who are you, and what happened?"
Jason does his best to explain, though it is hard to meet those intense gray eyes. About halfway through the story, the other guy from the chariot comes over. He stands there glaring at them, his arms crossed. He has a tattoo of a rainbow on his biceps, which seems a little unusual to Jason.
"Annabeth," the bald guy grunts. "Check it out." He pointed at Jason's feet.
Jason hadn't thought much about it, but he is still missing his left shoe, which had been blown off by the lightning. His bare foot feels okay, but it looks like a lump of charcoal.
"The guy with one shoe," says the bald dude. "He's the answer."
"No, Butch," the girl insists. "He can't be. I was tricked." She glares at the sky as though it had done something wrong. "What do you want from me?" she screams. "What have you done?"
"Hey there, Boss," (Y/n) hears in her head and she turns to one of the horses, a jet black pegasus.
"Uh, hey," (Y/n) says aloud, stepping over to the horse. She reaches out, and the pegasus nuzzles her hand.
"You got any sugar cubes?" he whinnies.
"No, sorry, bud," (Y/n) pats the pegasus's head.
Leo, Jason, and Piper stare at (Y/n), their eyebrows raised, but both Annabeth and Butch look unfazed.
The skywalk shudders , and the pegasi whinnies urgently. "We'd better hurry, Boss. The glass is crackin'!" the black pegasus says.
"Annabeth," says the bald dude, Butch, "we gotta leave. Let's get these four to camp and figure it out there. Those storm spirits might come back."
Annabeth fumes for a moment. "Fine." She fixes Jason with a resentful look. "We'll settle this later." She turns on her heel and marches towards the chariot.
Piper shakes her head. "What's her problem? What's going on?"
"Seriously," Leo agrees.
(Y/n) stares after Annabeth for a moment before following. She places a gentle hand on Annabeth's arm, and the blonde turns to her.
"I'm sorry," (Y/n) says and Annabeth's expression softens. "I don't remember who I am, or what I've done, but I'm sorry if I've hurt you."
Annabeth nods.
"Come on," Annabeth says. "Let's go home. I'll even ask Chiron to get you a new shirt. For now," Annabeth swings a backpack off her shoulders and pulls out a navy blue and white lettermen jacket, "put this on."
(Y/n) studies the jacket, noticing the last name - Jackson - before sliding it on. "Is this mine?" (Y/n) asks.
Annabeth nods. "You were on the swim team," Annabeth's eyes glow with what (Y/n) guesses is sisterly - pride.

ancient greek sucked ass [reader] decided as she stared down at her notebook. her handwriting was messy and rushed from frustration as she compared her work to that of the textbook balanced precariously on her knee that she was learning from. in no way did she expect the learning process to be quick and/or easy, but it would have helped if greek characters weren’t such a hassle to draw in the first place. shutting both books with a sigh, [reader] instead pulled her reading book from her bag. it was a book annabeth had recommended a few months ago and it wasn’t until [reader] had been on a quest in maine that she’d had the chance to purchase the book and see if it really was as good as the young athena girl’s recommendation. not that she had any doubts, annabeth always gave the best reading recommendations.
[reader] spent the next few hours getting lost within the world that the pages of her book created. it was a fantasy story, a rare recommendation from annabeth who seemed to prefer nonfiction books. it had been roughly 2 hours since [reader] started the book and the sun had begun it’s descent towards the ocean as the breeze began to cool. [reader] took this as a sign to take her belongings back to her cabin before dinner was called. placing the receipt for the book as a bookmark, [reader] packed the book away and headed off towards cabin 3.
there were very few other campers by the cabins, most were trying to squeeze in a few more minutes before dinner to get their training or some other chore done. cabin 3 was seeming empty as [reader] walked up to the heavy wooden door, though her opinion was quickly changed when she pushed the door open. inside the cabin sat both her half-brother percy and annabeth. the pair were cuddled up on percy’s bed, seemingly having been reading together, but their eyes had snapped away from the book and towards the door upon [reader]’s entrance.
“what in the fuck knuckles is this?” [reader] raised an eyebrow, shutting the door behind her.
percy rolled his eyes at his sister’s blunt question before responding, “she’s my girlfriend, you intolerant shit.” he wrapped a protective arm around annabeth.
once again all [reader] could do was raise her eyebrow and stifle a giggle at her brother’s antics. “pump the hate-breaks, fox and friends.” [reader] put up a hand in surrender, “I’m just surprised anyone would date you, especially miss wise girl over here.”
percy frowned at his sister using his nickname for annabeth. not that the girl in question minded, she was trying and failing to suppress a wide grin from adorning her features at the poseidon siblings’ banter. “well, she is dating me so…” percy ended his sentence by flipping the bird at his sister, who just laughed. annabeth joined in with the older girl’s laughter and percy pouted in response.
percy opened his mouth to defend himself but before he could get a word in, he was interrupted by the call for dinner. [reader] dropped her bag on her bed before calling to the pair, “c’mon, might as well get there before we’re left with crumbs to pick from.” as she made her way to the dining pavilion.
a smile graced [reader]’s features as she walked. she was happy that her brother had found someone good and strong as a partner, and she already knew that if the couple ever argued she’d take annabeth’s side, no questions asked. [reader] was grateful for the few minutes it took to walk to the dining pavilion where she could have a moment of peace from her brother. she knew that as soon as the two were sat by themselves at the poseidon table that she would be getting an earful from percy. oh well.

PERCY JACKSON WITH LITTLE SISTER READER (Mute and Suffering from PTSD)
Warnings: Mentions of Abuse, Mental Health, Cussing
Genre: Fluff and slight angst
Part 1
I got you sister...
_________________________
After the war with Gaia and getting out of Tartarus alive whilst forming new friendships with camp jupiter— Percy's days has been pleasantly peaceful, which he believed was too good to be true considering the Gods.
While hanging out with his girlfriend, Annabeth. A young camper suddenly went up to them and told them that Chiron was looking for both of them.
The lovers shared questioning glances at each other, both of them worrying about the same thing if another prophecy had revealed itself, and if it's talking about them.
They went to the big house and was surprised to see Nico waiting outside by the doorframe.
"Nico, what's going on?" Nico didn't say anything for a moment before turning his head and staring at both Percy and Annabeth. "You should go see it for yourselves."
Percy held Annabeth's hand for support as they both went inside and was even more surprised to hear an object being thrown to a wall by the clinic and hurriedly went over there to see what was going on.
"Will!" They saw the young Apollo boy with his hands held in front of him as if in surrender as he tries to calm someone in one of the rooms he was in.
"Shh..." Chiron was inside the room. Shushing the lovers and requesting them to shut their mouths. Percy looked over his girlfriend's shoulder— only to see a little girl hiding behind the beds.
He could hear her sobbing. Her eyes red and puffy as tears continue to drop from her sea green eyes.... 'Wait, Sea green eyes...?' Percy pondered.
"It's okay... Don't be scared... We'll help you..." Will said in a soothing voice, trying to calm the panicked child. After a few minutes, they could see she was slowly calming down and Will took this chance to take a few steps closer to her.
"There, There," Percy watched as how Will gently tries comfort her trembling form and carries her to the bed. He saw dribbles of red blood on her hand, explaining the broken glass and vases inside the room.
Soon after that, Chiron explained to them that a merman that showed up by the coast near the camp, visited him last night with a sleeping girl in his arms. The merman told him that she was a daughter of Poseidon, who had suffered from heavy abuse by her own mother and step-father, together with her other step-siblings. The merman warned him to take good care of her, or else the God of seas will take drastic measures himself.
Percy was confused for a moment. Who was this merman? And did his father really say that? Whatever the case, after hearing what his new little sister had suffered, he didn't really care what his father might do. All he knows is that he needs to let his little sister know that she's safe now.
After an hour, Will got out of the room and informed them that she was sleeping. However, he brought terrible news. Currently, the girl was mute and is suffering from PTSD due to the amount of trauma she carries at such a young age. Furthermore, he had found out last night that she had so many bruises and scars from constant abuse.
Percy's blood almost evaporated like a volcano. Constant abuse? TO A CHILD NOT OLDER THAT 10 YEARS OLD?!
Percy thought that those people with her in that terrible house were fucking insane. They were monsters, each and every one of them.
Chiron told Percy to wait for his little sister until she heals and has the strength to take a step outside the clinic. So for now, he had to prepare his cabin that might not frighten and threaten the little girl's mental health.
Percy immediately jumped into action with the help of Annabeth and his friends. (Grover, Jason, Piper, Leo, Nico, Hazel, Frank, and Will.) They decorated the cabin a little bit, making it a bit more outgoing and radiating a positive aura.
Percy even asked his mom, Sally, if she could bake some cookies for his new little sister, and Sally happily agreed.
When the day has finally come where you get to step out of the clinic and go to your cabin. Your older half-brother was already waiting for you with open arms.
He greeted you with a gentle smile, but you didn't say anything back. You founded it difficult to even utter out a word, and was still scared to say anything regardless. Percy was very understanding with you. Taking his time to understand the things you find comfortable with and the things you dislike.
He noticed that you felt pressured when you were out on public during the camp tour as almost every camper had their eyes on you.
You started sweating and tears were gradually building up in your eyes. Percy noticed it quickly and carried you back to your cabin with his eyes glaring at the people who were staring at you.

lost in the lotus
this is from my original blog from the same name. I had gotten discouraged and deleted it but brought it back, so I no longer have the request that asked for this.
Percy x sister!reader, Annabeth x platonic!reader, Grover x platonic!reader. Y/f/f/t= your favourite food type, y/f/m= your favourite meal, y/n= your name. reblogs are appreciated, as well as constructive criticism in the comments.
Percy wasn’t sure when you got separated all he knew was that you were gone. When you arrived at the lotus casino you were the only one to actually question what was going on. “Percy, don’t you think something weird is going on?” “This doesn’t feel right. we shouldn’t be here.” “Percy, something is very wrong here.” All he did was shrug, and now he was regretting that because now you were lost somewhere in the casino. “Annabeth, annabeth! Have you seen y/n? We need to get out of here. This place is a trap you come and never leave.” “spiders! Big hairy spiders!” “Oh my gods, how long have we been here?” “I don’t know, but y/n is missing and I don’t know where she would have gone!” “Percy calm down, we're going to find y/n.” Annabeth and Percy went to find Grover so that they could have a better chance of finding you. It took a while to convince Grover to leave the game and look for you, but they eventually began their search. “Y/n! Y/n! Y/n, where are you!” They had decided that Annabeth and Grover would search together while Percy went by himself. They had looked through the whole first floor, where most of the stuff was, and still no sign of where you were. “Annabeth, did you see her?!” “No, I’m sorry Percy.” Percy was starting to worry that he would never find you. “Maybe, she’s on another floor?” Percy gave annabeth’s idea some thought, and decided that it might be true. “Umm. Yeah yeah. That sounds like a good idea.” Percy made a run for the elevator. He had already lost his mom, so there was no way in hades he was going to lose his sister. They searched the second floor, but no sign of y/n. If Percy wasn’t panicking before he was now as millions of thoughts of terrible things that could have happened went through his head. Were you attacked by a monster, were you kidnapped, did Zeus do something to you because he blamed Poseidon, did hades do something to try and stop him from finding and returning the bolt. Whatever happened percy was worried. While Percy was panicking you were up on the third floor where all the restaurants were. You were the only one to not open the snacks up in your hotel room because something made you not trust the food here, and now you were starving and didn’t care. They had every type of food you could think of: Greek, Italian, American, Indian, British, Japanese, Chinese, etc. you chose y/f/f/t and chose y/f/m off the menu. When it got there it was the best y/f/m you had ever had. When Percy, Annabeth, and Grover got to the third floor percy took a quick look and knew you would most likely be at the y/f/f/t restaurant. While annabeth and Grover made quick rounds through all the restaurants percy ran towards where he knew you would be. When he got there it only took him a couple seconds to find you. “Come on y/n we need to go this place is a trap. I should have believed you when you tried to tell me.” “But Percy the food here is amazing you have to try some.” Percy grabed your hand and pulled you out of the chair and quickly pulled you out of the restaurant before you could protest. On the way out you ran into Annabeth and Grover. They looked relieved to have you back. Annabeth realized you were trying to protest Percy’s actions, so she grabbed your other hand helping Percy pull you out into the elevator. “But Percy I don’t want to go.” “Yes. Yes you do. You just don’t remember it. This place makes you forget stuff.” When you finally got out of the casino percy pulled you into a tight hug relieved to have you back. “Don’t ever ever scare me like that again. I thought I might not see you again.” “Percy, I can’t just leave you. If i left who would keep you from doing stupid stuff.”

Written for my Year of Olympians and part of a bigger challenge being run by @yearofcreation2023! It features a ton of other awesome creators and runs all year, so go check it out!
Fandom: Percy Jackson
Prompt: Dionysus; Wine, Cups, Dolphins, and Goats
Summary: Percy's cousin and friend on Sally's side helps him celebrate his 21st birthday right.
Word Count: 1,843
Category: Fluff
A/N: I also wrote this oneshot with Percy and his cousin being besties, loosely related to this one! You don't need to read one to understand the other, but in my mind they're in the same universe
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"IDs, please."
I grinned and nudged my cousin excitedly as he pulled out his driver's license and handed it to the bouncer before us. Tonight was his 21st birthday, and this officially marked the first time he got to use his card to get in somewhere.
"Okay, go ahead," said the bouncer, passing our IDs back before stepping aside. "And happy birthday."
"Thanks," said Percy with a smile and a nod as we headed into the bar. I beamed at him, dropping my hands onto his shoulders and jumping up and down a little.
"Welcome to adulthood, Perce! First round's on me, but you put in the order."
"Alright," said Percy, laughing a little at my antics but heading over to the bar with a smile anyway.
After a full-family day of celebrating Percy's 21st birthday, I'd asked for the honor of taking him to his first bar. He'd been all in, and I'd brought him to my favorite place in the city.
Despite being close cousins if you looked at a family tree, I hadn't gotten to be a part of Percy's life until the very end of his high school career. I'd been separate from the family I shared with him and Sally, escaping a bad situation when I was young without looking back. Once I'd gotten to college in New York, however, and knew I had family in the area, I decided to reach out and see if it would be worth reconnecting. And it had turned out to be the best decision I could've made.
My Aunt Sally was absolutely incredible, that went without saying. The few memories I had of her from when I was young were the things that had made me want to reach out in the first place. But finding Percy, who was only a few years younger than me, was like getting the little brother I'd always wanted. Even a little later, when a monster almost took my head off when Percy and I were out getting lunch and I learned about all the Greek mythology stuff, I didn't have even a second of regret over having these people in my life.
Luckily for me, Sally's clear-sightedness ran in the family, so I wasn't completely out of the loop when things came up. And, even better, I could look around the bar and feel confident no monsters were about to interrupt me and my little cousin celebrating his 21st birthday.
"Alright, first a toast," I said, raising my glass towards Percy once we had our drinks. He lifted his, too, grinning at me as I continued. "To you, Percy Jackson, hero of AHS swim team, son of Sally Jackson, and the best cousin I could've ever hoped for."
We clinked glasses, Percy still absolutely beaming, and took the first sips of our drinks. The night had officially begun.
We stayed in the bar for a few hours, laughing and dancing to the live band and occasionally refilling our drinks. Finally though, with a little less than an hour and a half to go before midnight, we wandered outside, smiling like idiots with our arms around each other.
"That was fun," Percy decided as we nodded a goodnight to the bouncer.
"I'm glad. And remember what I told you about drinking lots of water."
"I will. Maybe it'll work even better for me since I'm a son of Poseidon."
"That would be sick."
"Yeah."
We both stood there for a moment, letting the cool night air wash over us, a serious relief for the end of the summer. Percy had planned to spend the last moments of his birthday at Camp, with his girlfriend Annabeth and his best friend Grover. I knew it was time for me to let him go, to get us each a cab and head our separate directions, but I still didn't quite want the night to end.
Apparently, Percy felt the same way. He turned to me, a mischievous grin on his face and a light in his eyes that definitely meant trouble.
"Do you want to come back to Camp with me?"
I laughed, smiling a little even as I shook my head. "Perce, you know as well as I do that I can't. I wish I could, but there's no way for me to get in."
"Actually... no one knows how he did it, but a really lost pizza delivery guy made it through one time."
"If no one knows how he did it, how am I supposed to replicate it?"
Percy shrugged. "I don't know. But it's possible."
I paused, debating with myself for a moment. Worse-case scenario, I couldn't get in and I had a much longer cab ride than necessary. Not ideal, but not the end of the world either. And best case, I'd finally get to see the famous Camp Half-Blood and hang out with Percy and his friends.
"Alright," I finally said, turning back to Percy with a smile. "Let's give it a shot."
"Cool. Then I'm sorry for this."
Before I could ask what he meant, Percy held out his hand and threw a golden coin I recognized as Olympian money onto the street. At the same time, he shouted something in what I guess was ancient Greek, and the pavement before us started to bubble. A moment later, a smoky gray taxi rose out of the ground, suddenly sitting and waiting just in front of where we stood on the curb.
"Whoa," I breathed, a smile making its way onto my face as the astonishment wore off. "That is so cool."
"Maybe wait until after the ride to decide if it's cool."
Despite that shady warning, I got into the cab when Percy opened the door and climbed in with me. In front of us across the driver's bench were three ancient old ladies. It took about thirty seconds for me to realize they only had one eye between them, at which point only love for Percy kept me sitting in the car.
The ride from the bar to Camp Half-Blood were a few of the worst moment of my life. It was terrifying from start to finish, and although the travel was incredibly fast, there was also a stretch of that time where I thought we'd never get out of the cab alive again.
After Percy convinced the drivers, apparently the Gray Sisters, to take me even though I was a mortal, and after they spat some poetry about Apollo meddling to help Percy as a favor in the near future (which Percy seemed less than thrilled about), the car finally came to a stop. I rushed to get out, making a beeline for some bushes in case the motion sickness was enough to make me throw up. Thankfully, it wasn't, and when I turned around the cab was gone, leaving me and Percy on a darkened stretch of road.
"That was the worst thing ever," I declared. Percy shrugged, a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"Fastest cab service in New York."
I just shook my head, closing my eyes and then immediately regretting it since my world was still spinning. When I opened my eyes again, Percy had moved past me to the edge of the forest.
"I figured we'd try to go in the back way, by the woods here," he explained. "We're pretty sure that's where the pizza guys come from."
"Would those be the monster-infested woods you've told me about?"
"Yup."
I sighed, long and heavy, letting the last of the adrenaline drain away. Then, I managed a smile at Percy.
"Alright. Let's do this."
Percy pulled out his sword as I followed him into the woods, incredibly tense and jumping at every single noise. I couldn't tell exactly where the barrier to Camp Half-Blood was, but I didn't run into any invisible barriers, and by some miracle we didn't run into any monsters. After a while of walking, finally, we came to a beach, and not far from us I could see two figures waiting.
Percy turned back to me with a grin as our feet reached the sand.
"We did it."
"Did we seriously? This is Camp?"
"Yeah. The cabins and everything else are another walk through the woods, but this is the Camp beach. Annabeth and Grover are up there."
"Hell yes," I said, grinning as I moved to walk next to Percy. "Lost pizza delivery guys have nothing on me."
Percy and I high-fived, and as soon as they noticed me, Annabeth and Grover threw their hands up in the air and waved me over.
"You made it!" cried Annabeth, pulling me in for a hug. "How did you make it?"
I shrugged as we pulled apart, then immediately turned to pull Grover in too.
"No idea. However the pizza delivery guys did it, I guess. Whatever it was, I'm glad I'm here."
"Me too," said Percy, slinging an arm around my shoulders. We shared a smile, and then I turned away to reach into my bag. I pulled out the last surprise I'd been saving and faced the group again with a massive grin, two wine bottles in-hand.
"Don't tell your camp director," I said, smirking a little to myself. Percy, Annabeth, and Grover made a perfect scale of worried (Grover) to cackling, laughing happy (Percy) with Annabeth in the middle. I passed one bottle to Percy, then opened the first bottle and poured us each a glass. "To Percy! Happy twenty-first to the greatest cousin and friend I ever could've asked for. I love you, and I can't wait to drag you on every ridiculous, non-lethal adventure I can think of, from now until forever. And you have the next year to prepare for how many times you're gonna hear Taylor Swift's 22 at your next birthday."
"Hear hear!"
"Cheers!"
"Can't wait!"
The four of us clinked our glasses, and a moment later (like it'd been planned, which it probably had) a literal pod of dolphins burst out of the water, dancing and swirling in the waves. Percy groaned next to me while Annabeth, Grover, and I laughed.
"Poseidon knows how to put on a show for a birthday," I said. Percy sighed and shook his head, then dropped into the sand. The rest of us followed right after him, leaning back in the sand and watching the ocean sparkle and stretch out before us. The four of us stayed out there long into the night, laughing and talking and drinking by the surf.
When we finally decided it was time to head to bed, the trio helped me sneak through the woods again and into the heart of Camp. I wandered around happily, taking in everything while Percy and I made a beeline for his cabin. I'd have to leave earlier than early tomorrow to keep us all out of trouble, but for just one night we could manage to get away with it.
A Half-Blood's life was full of crazy, and even though I wasn't one, I intended to be part of every single thing that I could be part of for Percy, Annabeth, and everyone else he cared about for the rest of his life.

Ok so I’m a daughter of Athena and I don’t think there’s enough platonic Annabeth content. So, if you’re okay with it, could do you something with a child of Athena x Annabeth and it’s platonic? Maybe something with her going off to college too. Have a wonderful day/night!
Yikes this took a while... and it's kinda short... hope you enjoy anyway!
I totally agree with you tho! Not much out there for platonic PJO anything :(
Annabeth x sister!reader
I imagined reader like 15, but any age works that's not in college
Summary- Y/n doesn't want Annabeth to leave for New Rome.
Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
Oh gods did it hurt. More than you expected to be honest.
Annabeth was by far the person you had been closest with and had been there for you every time you could recall. You of course loved all your siblings, but you and Annabeth were inseparable. Blame it on the fact that Annabeth had been the one to find you in the mortal world, but regardless you two had a special bond.
It was just a few hours short of the time Annabeth had intended to leave, and you hadn't seen her all morning. Your only solace last night was that Annabeth would spend most of the morning with you, spitting memories from the last 5 years, or sitting in the comforting embrace of silence as Annabeth packed the last of her things.
Instead you woke to an empty cabin, every trace of Annabeth's belongings wiped from her bunk and desk. Even the spot at the breakfast bench where she normally sat was barren and cold.
Trudging across the lawn from a painful breakfast you heard a shout from afar. Turning you head, you could see Annabeth frantically waving you down from the strawberry fields. Percy, Jason, and Piper had been only a couple feet away, and you presumed they had been out doing something, keeping Annabeth from breakfast.
Jogging over, Annabeth began to meet you halfway, and when you were close enough, she pulled you inter her arms.
It was one of the good hugs, squeezing tight and a slight rock as you started to tear up.
"Why do you have to go now?" You asked though a teary haze.
"I'm not leaving forever," She replied, "We can visit, and before you know it you're going to be attending New Rome University too, majoring in biology, or law if you're still into that."
Annabeth smoothed you hair and wiped your tears with the edge of her sweatshirt sleeve.
"When I come back in the fall, you and I can go pick out pumpkins, crash at Percy's place, and watch Halloween movies while we carve them. And don't even get me started on our plans for Christmas break."
You smiled lightly, knowing well that Annabeth probably already had an itinerary booked by the minute.
"Distance makes the heart grow fonder, eh?"
You nodded reluctantly and let yourself melt into one last embrace.
"You know you can always IM me, anytime, anywhere, okay? I love you y/n/n." Annabeth whispered in your ear.
"I love you too Bethy Boo Bear."
You heard her growl lightly as you shrieked and rushed for cover near the volleyball courts.
Everything was changing, but the love you shared never would.

You had woken up early that morning, expecting it to be like any other—getting up, getting ready, and heading to the arena to train the younger campers. You enjoyed the routine, especially passing by Hermes' cabin to catch a glimpse of Luke interacting so amiably with his half-siblings, causing your heart to skip a beat.
Determined to head to the training area, you were interrupted by a younger camper who needed help tying the laces of their worn-out sneakers.
"I thought you had this down, Claire," you said to the daughter of Hermes while expertly looping the shoelaces.
"I couldn't figure out what you did at the end," she murmured, glancing around as if expecting someone.
You eyed the younger girl suspiciously and proceeded to show her how to tie the knot. "Well, you just need to—"
"Hey, Y/N." Luke cut in as he jogged towards you.
Standing up, you turned to face Luke and saw him handing out sweets to Claire.
"I can't believe you just did that," you accused, pointing a finger at him.
"I didn't set anything up." He raised his hands, laughing as if surrendering. "I like your braid." Luke approached, tucking away a loose strand of your hair. "Suits you."
Feeling your cheeks warm, you stepped back from the brunette and crossed your arms.
"What do you want, Luke?" You asked curiously, starting to walk as you noticed some kids from your cabin heading in the direction you were supposed to be going.
Luke matched your pace. "Can't a dear friend want to see you?" He asked, and you felt one of your hands brushing against his as you walked side by side. "Actually, I-I..." He was interrupted by Annabeth calling out to you.
You both stopped, and Luke stepped back, scratching his neck as if embarrassed.
"Luke! Y/N!" You watched your sister come towards you. "Come on, Y/N, I've got a new tactic I want you to try with the bow," Annabeth said excitedly, pulling you towards the arena.
"Go on, then!" Luke waved to you. "Mind not hitting any campers with your bow, Y/N/N." He teased.
"You're an idiot, Castellan," you teased back, running off with Annabeth while hearing Luke's laughter.
The journey to the arena was short, but Annabeth wouldn't stop discussing the idea she had for the next capture the flag.
"He likes you," Annabeth halted before the arena entrance and stared at you.
You stopped and laughed at her. "He doesn't."
"He does," she insisted. "And you like him too." She slung her arm around your shoulder, amused because you and Luke were obvious to everyone at camp except yourselves.
"He's just a friend, Annie," you said as you both entered the arena.
The morning passed swiftly, not because you dwelled on what Annabeth had told you earlier or because Luke wanted to talk to you earlier. Soon enough, you found yourself alone in the arena, searching for your broken bow and arrows, supposed to be where you always left them but nowhere to be found today. Determined to fix it, you murmured, "I'm sure I left it here," while scanning through various other campers' bows.
"You left it here," Luke appeared behind you.
"Gods!" You startled, placing a hand on your chest and turned to him, annoyed.
"I didn't know I was that ugly to startle you," Luke said, leaning against a table nearby.
"You're not ugly, Luke," you mumbled softly, looking at him. "Wait what do you have behind you?" You asked, approaching him.
"Nothing," he murmured, turning so you couldn't see what he was hiding.
"Let me see, Luke," you stepped closer, trying to grab whatever he was holding.
Luke stepped back, and you stepped forward, causing both of you to collide and end up almost face to face, except for the height difference.
"I really want to kiss you right now," Luke spoke softly, and you wondered if you heard that correctly.
Summoning courage, you looked at him and locked eyes with his mouth. Luke released what he was holding, brushing a hand on your waist, pulling you closer. He looked at you, waiting for some sign of confirmation, and you stood on tiptoes and kissed him. Luke's hand cupping your cheek as he leaned in. Time seemed to stop as your lips met in a gentle yet fervent kiss, a mix of warmth and electricity passing between you.
When you pulled away, a gentle smile graced Luke's lips, and you were sure you were blushing. You rested your head on his chest, and he placed a kiss on your head. "I have something for you," Luke suddenly spoke and moved away to where he had hidden something. "That's why I wanted to talk to you earlier, but Annie showed up, and..."
"So, you used Claire to delay me?!" You accused, laughing, then stopped when you realized what he was holding.
"Don't blame me; I wanted to surprise you." Luke explained, and you couldn't help but find it endearing that he sought help to surprise you. "I saw it broken yesterday." He extended your bow towards you. "I tried fixing it myself, but I don't have the skills of a Hephaestus kid," he chuckled nervously. "I think you’ll like."
You took your bow from him, amazed at Luke's gesture. "It's perfect, Luke," you ran your hand over the drawings - more like scribbles - that weren't there before. "I love it." Surprising him, you hugged him, and Luke let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Thank you, truly."
Luke hugged you back, his arms enfolding you with a mixture of surprise and contentment. "Anytime, Y/N." he murmured, his voice soft.
You pulled away, holding the repaired bow with a newfound appreciation. "I can't believe you did this," you said, a smile lighting up your face. "You're more talented than you think, Luke."
He scratched the back of his head, a bashful grin spreading across his features. "Well, I had some inspiration." Luke's eyes met yours, holding a warmth that sent a rush of comfort through you.
"Thank you, Luke," you repeated, feeling genuinely grateful. "I owe you one."
He chuckled softly. "How about you owe me a rematch at capture the flag?"
You laughed, nodding in agreement. "You're on, Castellan."

Dark! Percy Jackson Reverse Harem x Reader|| Chapter Four
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
<<< Chapter Three
You tried to fight them with your hardest, but you barely land hits on any of them.
But the sword is hard for you to handle and your hits are sloppy.
In the end, you got injured.
No, Ares's children didn't harm you, you cut yourself up with the sword by accident.
However, Percy fought them all off and your team won capture the flag.
Annabeth shoved Percy in the water where your doubts were confirmed as Poseidon claimed him as his son.
After the game, Chiron called you over to give you a letter from your mother.
For some reason you were so scared to open it, feeling like your mother was declaring in the letter that she disowns you and doesn't want to see you ever again.
But, it is the opposite of that.
My Sweet Angel,
I apologize for appearing like a coward, but I needed to get you to the camp.
However...I couldn't bring myself to enter the place because it brought bad memories for me.
I hate it, but I know it's necessary for your safety.
And you must understand that I would never be ashamed of you, I'm quiet proud of you.
After all, I was in your position when I was young.
PS. Your stepfather sends you his love and will prepare you all of your favorite food when you return home.
From your beloved mother,
Calista
You let out a happy laugh, finally feeling at ease that you misunderstood the whole situation.
Your mother loves you, but wait...
...She is a demigod.
But what do that make you?
Also who is her godly parent.
You will ask Chiron about it later, he must know who he is.
Suddenly you hear knocking on the front of your cabin door, you go to open it only to see Annabeth.
You smile at her cheerful and shyly but invite her inside.
Once she is inside, you begin apologizing.
"I'm sorry about my performance, I swear I tried my best but-"
She cuts you off.
"No need to worry, you did amazing on your first try"
Your expression brightens up.
"Thank you"
"No problem, girls stick together, am I right?" Annabeth says with a smile.
"Yes...would you like to stay over and chit chat for a bit?"
"Sure!"
And that's how you made a first female best friend in camp.
°°°
"I chose you for the quest, you cannot say no to it"
"Well, the quest is going to fail, did you not see my fighting skill? It's horrible!"
Percy as usual barged into your cabin to inform you of the quest.
"Come on, Grover and Annabeth will be there too, there is nothing to fear"
Your eyes grow big upon hearing the name 'Grover'  as a smile appears on your face.
"Grover is here? Is he also a demigod?"
°°°
"You are a Satyr?"
You tilt your head, looking down at the tan skinned boy's legs.
"Yes...weird, I know"
"No, it's not weird at all, actually it is kind of cute" you say.
Grover smiles and blushes but Percy walks between you both, to break the nearness.
"We need to focus on the quest" Percy asserts with jealousy.
"Is that Thalia?" you ask Annabeth as she says goodbye to the tree.
"Yes"
"She’s really gonna miss that tree, huh?"
Percy says sarcastically, looking with envy as you interact with Annabeth, also patting the tree gently, saying something he can't hear.
He doesn't want you to interact with anyone.
If he can lock you up, he will do it.
"When Annabeth first arrived here with Thalia and Luke, they were being chased by monsters. Agents of Hades. Sisters. Furies."
"Mrs. Dodds?" Percy points out.
"Yes! One was our algebra teacher. Alecto. Thalia turned back to fight to buy her friends some time. Her satyr protector tried to stop her, but she wouldn’t listen. So, at the last moment... Zeus intervened to save her life and... changed her form."
"The most powerful being in the universe’s best idea to save his daughter’s life... was to turn her into a tree?"
Percy mocks after his friend finishes explaining as you and Annabeth walk back to them.
"She was the bravest demigod I ever knew. She fought valiantly, and she met a hero’s fate." Annabeth defends.
"She met a pinecone’s fate."
"Percy" you exclaim, piniching his arm.
"What? I'm telling the truth"
You sigh in anger, before turning to Annabeth with a gentle expression and say.
"If I ever meet Zeus, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind"
Grover nods his head slowly at you.
"Yeah, so he can strike you down with lighting bolt"
"Can't strike me down with something he lost"
You say playfully walking ahead of them.
"She is going to get us killed" Annabeth mutter
"And I don't mind dying for her" Percy respond firmly, following after you like a lovesick puppy.
°°°
Calista walks around the house, cleaning every corner and making sure everything is in order.
She developed an OCD, ever since she became pregnant with her only daughter, you.
The demigod woman feared that all her past relationships with the gods might come back and slap her in the face through you.
She would die if something happened to you, that's why she thought it was the best decision to send you to Camp Half-Blood.
While doing house work, the doorbell rings, she walk over to the front door and opens it.
But once she sees who is on the other side, she tries to close it, but the person stops her and shoves his way in.
"This is no good way to greet me, young lady"
"What are you doing here?" Calista demands in fear.
"Well, I came to take you back to the underworld"
Hades answers back with a smirk.
"I'm not going anywhere, my daughter-"
"Don't worry, I sent someone to get her, so we can all become a big happy family"

Seeing the Beauty (Piper Mclean x Fem!Reader) - Chapter 3
Series Masterlist
Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
After a morning of storm spirits, goat men, best friends talking to horses, and flying boyfriends, Piper should've been losing her mind, but instead, all she feels is dread.
It's starting, she thinks. Just like the dream said.
Piper stands in the back of the chariot with Leo, (Y/n), and Jason, while Butch handles the reins, and Annabeth adjusts a bronze navigation device. They rise over the Grand Canyon and head east, icy wind rippling straight through Piper's jacket. Behind them, more storm clouds are gathering.
The chariot lurches and bumps. There are no seat belts and the back is wide open, so Piper wonders if Jason would catch her again if she fell. That was probably the most disturbing part of the morning - not that he could fly, but that Jason had held her and didn't know who she was.
All semester, she'd worked on a relationship, trying to get Jason to notice her as more than a friend. Finally, she had gotten the big dope to kiss her. The last few weeks had been the best of her life. And then, three nights ago, the dream had ruined everything - that horrible voice, giving her horrible news. She hadn't told anyone about it, not Jason, or (Y/n), her best friend.
Now, she doesn't even have them. It's like someone had wiped their memories, and she is stuck in the worst "do over" of all time. Piper wants to scream. Jason stands right next to her: those sky blue eyes, close-cropped blond hair, that cute little scar on his upper lip. His face is kind and gentle, but always a little sad. And he just stares at the horizon, not even noticing her.
Meanwhile, Leo is being annoying, as usual. "This is so cool!" He spits a pegasus feather out of his mouth. "Where are we going?"
"A safe place," Annabeth replies. "The only safe place for kids like us. Camp Half-Blood."
"Half-Blood?" Piper is immediately on guard. She hated that word. She'd been called a half-blood too many times—half Cherokee, half white—and it was never a compliment. "Is that some kind of bad joke?"
"She means we're demigods," (Y/n) replies, and Annabeth looks over her shoulder at her. There is a slight gleam in the gray eyes, as though Annabeth was surprised that something inherently intelligent had come from (Y/n)'s mouth.
Jason hums his agreement. "Half god, half mortal."
Annabeth looks at Jason now. "You seem to know a lot, Jason. But, yes, demigods. My mom is Athena, goddess of wisdom. Butch here is the son of Iris, the rainbow goddess."
Leo chokes. "Your mom is a rainbow goddess?"
"Got a problem with that?" Butch grunts in reference to Leo's question.
"No, no," Leo says. "Rainbows. Very macho."
"Buch is our best equestrian," Annabeth says, and she seems to be holding something back. "He gets along great with the pegasi."
"Rainbows, ponies," Leo mutters.
"I'm gonna toss you off this chariot," Butch warns.
"Demigods," Piper says. "You mean you think you're . . . you think we're -"
Lightning flashes. The chariot shudders, and Jason yells, "Left wheel's on fire!"
Piper steps back. Sure enough, the wheel is burning, white flames lapping up the side of the chariot.
The wind roars. Piper glances behind them and sees dark shapes forming in the clouds, more storm spirits spiraling towards the chariot - except these look more like horses than angels.
Piper starts to say, "Why are they -"
"Anemoi come in different shapes," Annabeth replies. "Sometimes human, sometimes stallions, depending on how chaotic they are. Hold on. This is going to get rough."
Butch flicks the reins. The pegasi put on a burst of speed, and the chariot blurs. Piper's stomach crawls into her throat. Her vision goes black, and when it comes back to normal, they are in a totally different place.
A cold gray ocean stretches out to the left. Snow-covered fields, roads, and forests spread to the right. Directly below them is a green valley, like an island of springtime, rimmed with snowy hills on three sides and water to the north. Piper sees a cluster of buildings like ancient Greek temples, a big blue mansion, ball courts, a lake, and a climbing wall that seems to be on fire. But before she can really process all she is seeing, their wheels come off and the chariot drops out of the sky.
Annabeth and Butch try to maintain control. The pegasi labor to hold the chariot in a flight pattern, but they seem exhausted from their burst of speed, and bearing the chariot and the weight of six people is just too much for the horses.
"The lake," Annabeth yells. "Aim for the lake!"
Piper remembers something her dad had once told her, about hitting water from high up being as bad as hitting cement.
And then - BOOM!
The biggest shock is the cold. She is underwater, so disoriented that she doesn't know which way is up.
She just has time to think: This would be a stupid way to die. Then faces appear in the green murk - girls with long black hair and glowing yellow eyes. They smile at her, grab her shoulders, and haul her up.
They toss her, gasping and shivering, onto the shore. Nearby, Butch stands in the lake, cutting the wrecked harnesses off the pegasi. Fortunately, the horses look okay, but they are flapping their wings and splashing water everywhere. Jason, Leo, and Annabeth are already on shore, surrounded by kids giving them blankets and asking questions. Somebody takes Piper by the arms and helps her stand. Apparently kids fell into the lake a lot, because a detail of campers ran up with big bronze leaf blower - looking things and blasts Piper with hot air; and in about two seconds her clothes are dry.
There are at least twenty campters milling around - the youngest nine, the oldest college age, eighteen or nineteen - and all of them are wearing orange t-shirts like (Y/n)'s and Annabeth's. Piper looks back at the water and sees the strange girls just below the surface, their hair floating in the current. They wave like, toodle-oo, and disappear into the depths. A second later, the wreckage of the chariot is tossed from the lake and lands nearby with a wet crunch.
"Annabeth!" a guy with a bow and quiver on his back pushes through the crowd. "I said you could borrow the chariot, not destroy it."
"Will, I'm sorry," Annabeth sighs. "I'll get it fixed, I promise."
Will scowls at his broken chariot. Then he sizes up Piper, Leo, and Jason. "These are the ones? Way older than thirteen. Why haven't they been claimed already?"
"Claimed?" echoes Leo.
Before Annabeth can explain, Will says, "Any sign of Percy or -"
Will stops as a wave ripples across the lake, though it didn't seem to come from anywhere.
Piper stares at the water, and a figure emerges from the water, their clothes completely dry.
"This is really fuckin' cool," (Y/n) says, staring down at her dry clothes.
The campers suddenly break out into a fit of whispering, as though they recognized (Y/n), but before they can say anything aloud, another girl steps forward - tall, Asian, dark hair in ringlets, plenty of jewelry, and perfect makeup. Somehow, the girl managed to make jeans and an orange t-shirt look glamorous - but then, if Piper admitted to herself, (Y/n) could also make jeans and a t-shirt - Piper cuts off her own thoughts. The girl glances at Leo, fixes her eyes on Jason like he might be worthy of her attention, then curls her lip at Piper as if she was a week-old burrito that had just been pulled out of a dumpster. Piper knows this girl's type - she'd dealt with a lot of girls like this at the Wilderness School, and every other stupid school her father had sent her to. Piper knows at once that they are going to be enemies.
"Well," the girl says. "I hope they're worth the trouble."
Leo snorts. "Gee, thanks. What are we, your new pets?"
"No kidding," (Y/n) replies, meeting the girl's gaze. "How about some answers before you start judging us - like, what is this place, why are we here, how long do we have to stay?"
Piper has the same questions, but a wave of anxiety surges over her. Worth the trouble? If only they knew about her dream. They have no idea.
"(Y/n)," Annabet says, "I promise we'll answer your questions. And Drew -" she frowns at the glamorous girl - "all demigods are worth saving. But I'll admit, the trip didn't accomplish what I hoped."
"Hey," Piper protests, "we didn't ask to be brought here."
Drew sniffs. "And nobody wants you, hon. Does your hair always look like a dead badger?"
Piper steps forward, ready to smack her, but Annebth says, "Piper, stop," and (Y/n) glowers silently at Drew.
Piper does stop. She isn't scared of Drew, but Annabeth doesn't seem like someone Piper would want for an enemy.
"We need to make our new arrivals feel welcome," Annabeth says, with another pointed look at Drew. "We'll assign them each a guide, and give them a tour of camp. Hopefully by tonight, Piper, Leo, and Jason will be claimed."
(Y/n) turns to Annabeth, looking surprised. "Have I been claimed before?"
"Can someone tell me what claimed means?" Piper asks.
Before anyone can answer, there is suddenly a collective gasp, and the campers back away. At first, Piper thinks she'd done something wrong. Then she realizes that their faces are bathed in a strange red light. Piper turns and almost forgets how to breathe.
Floating over Leo's head is a blazing holographic image - a fiery hammer.
"That," Annbeth says, "is claiming."
"What'd I do?" Leo backs toward the lake. Then he glances up and yelps. "Is my hair on fire?" He ducks, but the symbol follows him, bobbing and weaving so it looks like he was trying to write something in flames with his head.
"This can't be good," Butch mutters. "The curse -"
"Butch, shut up," Annabeth interrupts. "Leo, you've just been claimed—"
"By a god," Jason interjects. "That's the symbol of Vulcan, isn't it?"
All eyes turn to him.
"Jason," Annabeth says carefully, "how did you know that?"
"I'm not sure."
"Vulcan?" Leo demands. "I don't even LIKE Star Trek. What are you talking about?"
"Vulcan is the Roman name for Hephaestus," Annabeth replies, "the god of blacksmiths and fire."
The fiery hammer gades, but Leo keeps swatting the air like he is afraid it is following him. "The god of what? Who?"
Annabeth turns to the guy with the bow. "Will, would you take Leo, give him a tour? Introduce him to his bunk-mates in Cabin Nine."
"Sure, Annabeth."
"Come on, Mr. Spock, I'll explain everything." Will puts a hand on his shoulder and steers him off towards the cabins.
Annabeth turns her attention back to Jason. Usually Piper didn't like it when other girls checked out her boyfriend, but Annabeth doesn't seem to care that he is a good-looking guy. She studies him more like he's a complicated blueprint. Finally she says, "Hold out your arm."
Piper sees what she is looking at, and her eyes widen.
Jason had taken off his windbreaker after his dip in the lake, leaving his arms bare, and on the inside of his right forearm is a tattoo. How had Piper never noticed it before? She'd looked at Jason's arms a million times. The tattoo couldn't have just appeared, but it's darkly etched, impossible to miss: a dozen straight lines like a barcode, and over that an eagle with the letters SPQR.
"I've never seen marks like this," Annabeth says. "Where did you get them?"
Jason shakes his head. "I'm getting really tired of saying this, but I don't know."
The other campers push forward, trying to get a look at Jason's tattoo. The marks seem to bother them a lot - almost like a declaration of war.
"They look burned into your skin," Annabeth noticed.
"They were," Jason said. Then he winces as if his head is aching. "I mean . . . I think so. I don't remember."
No one says anything. It was clear the campers see Annabeth as the leader - they seemed to be waiting for her verdict.
"He needs to go straight to Chiron," Annabeth decides. "Drew, would you—"
"Absolutely." Drew laces her arm through Jason's. "This way, sweetie. I'll introduce you to our director. He's . . . an interesting guy." She flashes Piper a smug look and leads Jason toward the big blue house on the hill.
The crowd begins to disperse, until only Annabeth, (Y/n), and Piper are left.
"Who's Chiron?" Piper asks. "Is Jason in some kind of trouble?"
Annabeth hesitates. "Good question, Piper. Come on, I'll give you a tour. We need to talk." Then Annabeth turns to (Y/n), who was looking around at the cabins. "Cabin Three," Annabeth tells (Y/n), who nods, as though she'd been about to say the words herself.
The black pegasus - Blackjack - trots over to (Y/n) and nuzzles her cheek.
"Okay, man," (Y/n) says to the horse. "Blackjack wants me to follow."
"Go ahead," Annabeth looks amused. "He knows where to take you."
(Y/n) waves to Piper and Annabeth and jogs after the jet black pegasus.
"Will she be okay?" Piper asks Annabeth.
"With Blackjack? Of course," Annbeth replies. "He's loyal only to (Y/n) and Per -" Annabeth cuts herself off.
Piper didn't know who this Percy person was, but he seemed to be a big deal around here.
. . .
Piper soon realizes that Annabeth's heart isn't in the tour.
She talks all about the amazing stuff the camp offers - magic archery, pegasus riding, the lava wall, fighting monsters - but she shows no excitement, as if her mind is elsewhere. She points out the open-air dining pavilion that overlooks Long Island Sound - Yes, Long Island, New York; they'd traveled that far on the chariot. Annabeth explains how Camp Half-Blood is mostly a summer camp, but some kids stayed here year-round, and they'd added so many campers it is always crowded now, even in winter.
Piper wonders who runs the camp, and how they'd known Piper and her friends belonged here. I wonder if I'd have to stay full time, or if I'd be good at any of the activities, Piper wonders. Could you flunk out of monster fighting? A million questions bubble in her head, but given Annabeth's mood, she decides to keep quiet.
As they climb up a hill at the edge of camp, Piper turns and gets an amazing view of the valley - a big stretch of woods to the northwest, a beautiful beach, the creek, the canoe lake, lush green fields, and the whole layout of the cabins - a bizarre assortment of buildings arranged like a Greek omega, with a loop of cabins around a central green, and two wings sticking out the bottom on either side. Piper counts twenty cabins in all. One glows golden, another silver. One has grass on the roof. Another is bright red with barbed wire trenches. One cabin is black with fiery green torches out front.
All of it seems like a different world from the snowy hills and fields outside.
"The valley is protected from mortal eyes," Annabeth explains. "As you can see, the weather is controlled, too. Each cabin represents a Greek god - a place for that god's children to live." She looks at Piper, as though she's trying to judge how Piper was taking the news.
"You're saying Mom was a goddess?" Piper wonders aloud.
Annabeth nods. "You're taking this awfully calmly."
Piper can't tell Annabeth why. She can't admit that this just confirmed some weird feelings she'd had for years, arguments she'd had with her father about why there were no photos of Mom in the house, and why Dad would never tell her exactly how or why her mom had left them. But mostly, the dream had warned her this was coming. Soon they will find you, demigod, the voice had rumbled. When they do, follow our directions. Cooperate, and your father might live.
. . .
(Y/n) follows Blackjack through the rows of cabins until the pegasus stops in front of a low, long and solid cabin, with all the windows facing the sea.
Go on in, boss, Blackjack whinnies, nosing (Y/n) through the door.
Inside the cabin, six empty bunkbeds line the wall between two doors - (Y/n) guesses they were rooms - and another door - maybe a bathroom. The walls glow like abalone, a few fish-horses - hippocampi, the word comes to (Y/n) - hanging from the ceiling, and a fountain made of dark sea-rock in the corner.
On one of the doors, written in bronze is the name (Y/n), so (Y/n) walks over, pushing the door open.
One of the walls seemed to be windows, but (Y/n) knew that they couldn't be there - there were no visible windows other than the ones off the main room. (Y/n) studies the coast of Long Island Sound through the windows, but then she catches sight of a reading nook in the corner of the room. (Y/n) lets out a murmur of appreciation at the massive bookshelf and reading nook in a corner of the room. She walks over, studying a few of the tiles: something called Heartstopper - Volume 1, a massive series titled The Ranger's Apprentice, a book called One of Us is Lying, and a ton of other books that (Y/n) thinks she'd love to read - or reread.
On the wall across from the windows, there is a wall of photos - her and a dark-haired boy with sea-green eyes, (Y/n) guesses that that must be her twin brother, Percy; her, Annabeth, Percy, and a scrawny guy with a wispy goatee - Grover, the name comes to her - and they look about twelve; and a ton others.

You stood beside Annabeth as she rattled off about how they'd made the Lincoln Museum. Of course, you loved her like a sister but you couldn't stop yourself from dozing off.
“ [Name],” You tilted your head and stared into the eyes of Rachel Dare, the Oracle, one of your best friends and the girl who’s had a crush on Percy Jackson for years. See, you used to have a huge crush on him too but when you saw Rachel close to him you became insecure and resisted the urge to be closer to him mostly because you didn't want to violate the Girl Code .
She was popular, respected as the Oracle, and…pretty.
All you were was smart. You were only known because your best friend is Annabeth and your cousin is basically only known for a having a huge crush on her, and you would refrain from calling yourself pretty. It was hard acknowledging that fact but you liked being honest, unlike the people close to you.
They all said he liked you, but you were hesitant even with the signs.
“ Poppy, you want to sit by the lakeside for a picnic during lunch?” Percy whispered, his blinding smile lighting your questioning gaze. You shrugged though, trying to nod because you wanted to be subtle about the care you held for him.
Especially his nickname for you, he started calling you Poppy because, in his seventh-grade year, he had a project on Poppy seeds and found out that they cause sleep. Which, one night during the first quest, you'd done because he couldn't sleep, so you sang a small song that made him black out after the first verse.
“Percy's been looking for you for ages to come to his cabin!” Rachel smiled, her green eyes lighting up. Annabeth nodded before offering you a hand to get up.
As you stepped toward the still, cold, marble, smelling of the sea, you looked around for a spot to sit.
“ [Name!]” Percy's grin relaxed you as he pulled you to his side on the blue couch.
Annabeth gave you a pointed look while sitting down next to you and shook her head when you ignored her. Instead deciding to lean against the back of the couch. You came to Camp Half-Blood a year after Annabeth and Luke did. It took your father, Hypnos, a year afterward to claim you and move you from the Hermes Cabin.
It was two years after that when Percy came into your life and gave you the possibility to win a trophy for you and your half-siblings.
"Grover! we haven't seen you in so long!"
The brown-skinned boy shrugged and launched himself across a loveseat next to Annabeth, holding out a hand for a high-five.
"Did I...miss something?" He turned his head to stare at the arm Percy's hand wrapped around you. You rolled your eyes and whispered to Percy, "Maybe you should stop basically wrestling me to sit next to you, they keep on thinking that we're dating." He grinned, sea-green eyes staring into yours.
"Well, it's funny when they have that disappointed look when we aren't." Disappointment settled into your stomach before you could shake it away, but you did nothing but laugh and fix his curly blonde hair around his face.
"Shut up, Perce!" You laughed, tilting your head away.

PERCY JACKSON WITH LITTLE SISTER READER (MUTE AND SUFFERING FROM PTSD)
Warnings: Mentions of Abuse and Mental Health
Contains: Fluff, Slight Angst, and Platonic relationships
PART 2
Don't be scared...
________________
It had been two days ever since you got acquainted with your older half-brother and stayed with him inside your father's cabin.
You never really knew your real father. All you knew is that your mother hated him so much, and told you that he abandoned you both ever since you were born. Your step-father felt the same together with his daughter and son, your step-siblings.
Your family hated your sea green eyes. A sign that you weren't a part of the normal gene in this family. It was to the point that the verbal abuse they threw at you became physical and very violent. Your step-siblings would bully you, and the adults in the family would turn a blind eye. If you even caused a single small mistake or one of your step-siblings caused trouble, the punishment would always land on you. Or when your parents are just mad and needs something get their anger out, then their anger would always aim at you.
You didn't understand why you were being treated like this. You didn't even understand why you were even being hated by everyone who you thought you loved. Even at a young age, after a few harsh words being thrown at you almost everyday, you felt like giving up. You were slowly believing that nobody would ever come to love you.
However, he came along. Your brother. Percy Jackson.
You were scared of him at first, thinking that he would treat you like your step-siblings, but he never showed such hatred nor hostility to you. In fact, he was kind, gentle, and understanding. Always smiling at you and giving you good if you ever felt hungry.
He never forced you to do something you don't want to and let's you lay on the bed to rest together with a bunch of sea creatures plushies around.
You were still anxious being near him. The uneasiness of betrayal laying heavy inside your head as you continue to close off any annoying emotions.
However, Percy didn't give up. He would always watch over you during the day when you feel like walking around the cabin with your plushies, afternoon as you sat outside the cabin, and during the night when you're ready to go to sleep.
He wanted to make sure you felt safe around him. Wanting him to make it clear to you that you're important and is now a precious member in his family.
Until one night, he heard you crying silently under your blanket.
"Hey... Shh... I'm here I'm here, don't be scared..." he whispered to you. Soothingly patting the small of your back as you panted with tears in your eyes.
"You got a bad dream? That's alright, I got those too. And I hate them." He was gently smiling while continuing to talk to you. Percy thought that it might make your forget the bad dream even a little bit or possibly make you to open up to him even just a bit.
"It's okay. I'm here... Your brother is here..."

MASTERLIST
You were woken up from your peaceful night's sleep by Annabeth Chase, standing by your bunk and shaking you quickly awake.
“You need to come with me.” She said sharply, her voice urgent.
“Wha- Annabeth? What are you doing here? What’s going on?” You asked, immediately concerned.
“There’s no time to explain right now, you just have to come with me.”
Of course, you trusted her implicitly. She was the little sister of your boyfriend, after all. And so, you immediately threw your cargo pants and camp t-shirt on, and followed her out of the Dionysus cabin.
It was only as she began to lead you into the forest at the edge of camp that you began to wonder what she had called you out for. Annabeth was smart, and no-nonsense, so you couldn’t imagine that it was some kind of dumb prank. And she seemed pretty on edge, her breathing and walking pace both faster than usual.
It could be something to do with Luke. He could be in trouble.
No, it couldn’t be. He could handle himself perfectly fine on his own, he was the best swordsman in 500 years. No, it must be something else.
You decided to probe her a bit further, “Annabeth?” You called softly.
“Yes?” She answered quickly, not halting her progress into the woods.
“If somethings wrong I can always wake up D, y’know? I know he can be kinda belligerent, but you won’t get in any trouble, I promise.” You bargained, hoping that if she was worried about getting told off, you wouldn’t get her back up.
And it was true, as much as your father was seen as kind of a scary asshole to the average camper, you knew him better than anyone, and the truth that he was honestly a good person. Probably the best of the Olympian parents.
After all, he had taken care of you your whole life, ever since you were dropped off here by your mother at the ripe age of 5. He was a lot more caring than most would normally expect.
“No.” She snapped, her voice anxious, “We can’t get him involved, not right now. Just come with me, ok? And stay quiet.”
You didn’t press her any further after that, staying silent for the remaining duration of your walk.
Soon, you began to hear voices coming from deeper in the forest, and then, the talking ceased, and all you could hear was the louder clashing of swords.
Annabeth grabbed hold of your hand to lead you closer, before donning her invisibility cap. You followed where she led you, a sinking feeling in your stomach growing more and more painful with each step you took.
And it all came to a head when Annabeth brought you to the edge of a clearing, where Luke and Percy were engaged in a not-so-friendly looking ‘spar’.
“What’s going on?” You whispered, although you weren’t sure who to.
“Luke, he’s…” She trailed off slightly.
“He’s what.” You asked, your voice suddenly cold.
“He stole the master bolt. He’s working with Kronos to overthrow the gods” She said, and her words were like an icy bucket of water being poured over your head.
“You’re joking.” You said, a strained laugh coming from your throat.
Annabeth didn’t reply. She was serious.
And suddenly his strange behaviours over the past few months made perfect sense. He’d been so secretive, so calculated. Like he had to carefully think out every word he said to you.
You whipped your head back to the two teenagers, and you were unable to stop yourself from dashing forward as you watched your boyfriend aim a particularly harsh blow at the 12 year old child.
“Luke! What the fucks going on?!” You yelled, your face contorted in a mixture of confusion, anger, and hope. Hope that you and Annabeth had misinterpreted everything.
But as Luke turned around to face you, his face torn with guilt, you knew she hadn’t. The daughter of Athena was right yet again.
“What are you doing here?” He breathed out, partly from the physical exertion of the fight, but you could tell he was also affected by seeing you here.
“You know why I’m here. Tell me it’s not true. Please, Luke.”
He hesitated for a moment, before beginning to try and plead with you, “Sweetheart, I’m sorry, just let me explain-”
“Explain?! There’s no explanation for this! You’ve betrayed us Luke, you’ve betrayed me.”
He paused again, seemingly stunned by your reaction, your willingness to condemn him.
“I would never betray you. I love you, you know that. The gods are the ones who betray us. I’m fixing things, returning things back to the way they should be. Don’t you want to be a part of that?”
You gaped at him in complete and utter shock, “D is the only one who has never betrayed me. And I know he’s one of the few godly parents who gives a shit, and I know the rest of them treat us like shit, but that doesn’t mean whatever you're doing is right!”
His face fell, and it was like he realised appealing to your logic hadn’t worked, so he tried your emotions.
“You said you’d follow me to the ends of the earth? What happened to that, huh? I thought you loved me?” Luke’s voice was strained, taut with emotion like he was trying not to cry.
“I didn’t think that would have to include following you into tartarus to resurrect a titan lord. And I do love you, but that doesn’t mean I agree with what you’re doing!”
“C’mon, we can talk about this. Just come with me, I can explain everything, you’ll understand if you just come with me and let me explain.” He pleaded, taking a few steps towards you.
You stepped back away from him, “No. I’m not going with you.” You said, trying to make your voice sound firm, but you were well aware of the way it wobbled slightly as you spoke.
He turned back to Percy, who was still lying on the ground watching the exchange, “Last chance, Jackson. Last chance.”
The 12-year old shook his head, his face harsh and cold against the boy he had once called a friend.
And then Luke was looking at you again, as if trying to memorise your face, before rushing towards a portal Backbiter had created for him.
Then he was gone. One of the few people you never thought would betray you was gone, never to return.

Christmas Eve hadn’t ever been so crowded, and honestly, Sally was a bit overwhelmed. Nevertheless, she'd never wish it any other way; her son was happy, and his wife was happy, so she was happy.
Besides, she wasn't stuck to the kitchen all alone. Estella and Paul were right at her side, and so were her grandchildren, Margot and Zoe.
Well, Margot and Zoe were fighting more than helping, spreading puffs of flour into the air with every punch and chokehold they threw out.
Sally let out a breath to calm herself as she very nearly dropped the tray of casserole due to their chase around the kitchen. Paul, who had gained a sense for Sally's temper, looked up form across the room and noticed the furrow of her brow as she squeezed her eyes shut.
"Girls," he snapped, snatching the rolling pin from Zoe and grabbing Margot by the back of her hoodie. "Please, take it outside."
Zoe, ever the oldest, nodded and dragged her sister out into the front yard. Hopefully, thought Paul, there wouldn't be a Christmas trip to the ER.
Further into the house, away from the stress of the kitchen, laughter rang throughout the house.
In the living room, sat around the hearth, were the eight Heroes of Olympus.
Hazel sat on the edge of the couch, every once in a while looking toward the kitchen she'd been thrown out of. Sally insisted she didn't need any more help, but Hazel couldn't help but feel the need to.
Annabeth and Percy sat on the rug, criss crossed and side by side as they thanked Hestia no arguments had yet to break out. It seemed things were finally getting back to how they used to be; that is, good.
On the couch, right next to Hazel, was Frank. There was a polite enough distance between them, but every once in while they'd lock eyes and smile. The conversation between them wasn't what they'd like it to be, but slowly, they felt the ice slowly begin to melt. Both were hoping for a second chance, but neither knew how to ask for it.
"You're still doing quests, right?" Hazel asked him.
He rubbed at the back of his neck. "Not really quests. A search party, more like. Searching for more demigods."
Her head tilted as she turned to face him. "How are you finding them?"
"Luck, mostly," he said. "It's just me and Lavinia right now. We're following monster patterns for the most part, as well as just going to Olympus and asking... well, asking for a roster."
Hazel laughed behind her hand. "A roster? For all the people they've, erm, been with?"
Nodding, Frank chuckled too. "It's effective."
On the other end sat Y/N and Leo, the latter completely captured by whatever the son of Hephestus said. His hands were quick as he worked with several gears and pieces of metal, not realizing as his friend got closer to his shoulder to watch what he was doing.
When he was done, he held up a tiny model dragon, which he handed to her before going on about all that had happened since last they talked, which had been some months ago, upon her crashing her own funeral.
Y/N grinned down at the dragon, setting it on her knee as she propped her arm on the back of the couch and rested her head there, eyes finding Leo's profile again as she hung on every word he said.
"What happened to Calypso," she asked in a moment of pause. She'd been wondering that for some time, even before her "death." She'd been on good terms with everyone during their decade of disagreement and had spoken to Leo every few years or so, and eventually, Calypso stopped showing up to their lunch get-togethers.
Y/N never had the nerve to bring her up, mostly because she didn't want to come off... the wrong type of way about it.
Leo blinked, not expecting that, and shifted to face her. "Oh. Uhm, we didn't work out." His lopsided grin turned melancholy. "Took me three years to figure that out."
"I'm sorry," she said, and she meant it. He'd been so happy with Calypso, and as much as that was hard to swallow, she wasn't about to put an end to that.
"Eh," Leo shrugged, noticing how her face had fallen. "It's fine. We're good now. Better as friends, I think."
The pair fell silent at that particular choice of words, an echo of a past they'd rather not bring up in their heads.
It hadn't been so long ago, to them at least, when they were sixteen, and better as friends had put some kind of impassable bridge between the close friends.
For some reason, they both reflected, sharing a brief glance, that bridge wasn't so impassable anymore.
On the soft armchair across from them were Piper and Shel. Piper had her legs thrown over Shel's, her upper body leaned against the side of the chair as she talked with Jason, who lay on his back on the floor. To her surprise, Shel and Jason got along really well.
"So you can fly?" Shel asked, a brow raised as she looked between her girlfriend and the son of Jupiter.
Jason sat up and nodded. "Yep."
Shel scoffed. "I don't believe you."
Piper and Jason shared a look, mischief in their eyes. "Oh yeah?"
"Yeah," she answered, shaking her head. "Just cause you're a demigod or whatever doesn't mean the laws of gravity don't apply to you."
"Well, they do still." Jason shifted so he was sitting right in front of Shel. "It doesn't work like that, really. I just bend the wind to lift me up."
"There's no way you're a fuckin' airbender, dude."
"There is a way, and I'll prove it--"
"Mom!"
Annabeth's eyes shut as she sighed to keep her patience. Meanwhile, Percy nudged her and wondered aloud. "How come they never call for me when they're angry?"
Ignoring her husband, Annabeth looked up as her daughters ran one after the other into the living room. Margot shoved Zoe aside to get there first, sending her older sister spiraling into the wall.
Zoe jumped back up with a grunt, just in time to catch her mother's stern glare and shape up real quick.
Margot pointed at her sister and shouted, "Zoe punched me! For real punched me. In the eye!"
"Was it aggravated?"
"Percy."
He raised his hands in defense. "It's a valid question."
Annabeth pinched the bridge of her nose, though a little grin was fighting its way onto her lips. "Zoe, do not deck your sister in the face."
"Ha!"
"Margot," Annabeth warned. "Do not do anything garnering a deck in the face."
The sisters glared at each other before they said in unison, "Yes, Ma'am" and ran back outside, this time with their Aunt Stella marching after them, slouching and frustrated at being sent to be their babysitter by her mother.
Annabeth sighed and leaned into her husband's side, feeling his laughter in his chest before she heard it. He rubbed at her shoulders. "We haven't decided whose genetics trumped the others yet."
"It's obvious," Y/N said, looking up from the little toy dragon in her lap.
The parents shared a look before Annabeth asked, "Really?"
Y/N nodded. "Yeah. Margot may look just like Sally, but she's all Annie's sass and smarts. And Zoe's a tiny little Percy, except maybe a bit more self-aware."
Percy scoffed, nearly offended, as Annabeth chuckled. Y/N leaned back, reclining into the soft couch, and let her exhaustion get the better of her as she confessed, "I can't wait till I have kids someday."
An instant later, her cheeks were rosy as she sat straight up, glaring at Hazel's little snicker. "I mean, not mine, obviously."
Leo's brows quirked as he turned to face her entirely on the couch. "Why obviously?"
She realized then she'd actually never told anyone. "Oh, uhm," she stammered. "I... uh, I learned a while back I can't. Something in my DNA. I dunno..."
Suddenly, her little slip up wasn't so funny. Piper shifted so she was sitting up, beside Shel on the armchair. "Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry."
Y/N was quick to shake my hands in dismissal, a tiny grin on her face. "No, don't be. I have other options, if I ever get a life and move out of the Big House."
Annabeth tilted her head at that, her hand still in Percy's. "But you love being a counselor?"
"I do! Don't get me wrong," she said, starting to laugh a little awkwardly now that everyone was looking at her. "I just... I wish I hadn't clung to Camp like I had, you know? I shoulda gone to New Rome and gone to college with you guys instead of settling for never getting passed tenth grade."
Now it was Frank that turned to face her. "Y/N, you know it's not too late, right? NRU has GED programs."
Percy nodded. "And then you can apply. I'm sure Reyna and Jason would give you a recommendation or something."
"Definitely," said Jason.
Though the prospect of it was exciting, she ducked her chin and sank deeper into the cushions. "But... guys. I'm bordering on twenty-five..."
Before anyone could say anything else, reassure her it wasn't too late, the man beside her blurted, "I'll do it with you."
Everyone's heads darted in Leo's direction. Leo was smart. Insanely smart. But he'd made it clear school just wasn't for him. He was well enough off, and had a good job working at a garage not too far from the Waystation. He had no need to go back to school.
"What?" Y/N voiced the thought whirling around the room.
He just shrugged. "I've been thinking about it for a while, to be honest."
"You're not just saying that?" Y/N asked. "Cause I-I don't need you to do that for me, Leo. I know how difficult it was for you."
"I'm serious," he insisted. "Fixing motorcycles and cars is fun and all, but there's only so many oil changes a man can do before he has an existential crisis."
He wanted to be an engineer. He'd always wanted to be engineer, really, but it always felt so far away. He'd felt alone, but Y/N was there, and she also wanted more out of life. She too had regrets, probably some regrets they shared, and he wasn't just letting that go.
So he shrugged again, offering her his signature smirk, and raised his fist up to her. "What'dya say? Back to school?"
Y/N probably stared at his fist long enough to make it weird, before her eyes snapped up to meet his, and a smile spread from cheek to cheek. "Okay."
She fist bumped him, letting out a loud laugh as Piper whooped and started a round of applause that soon had the living room nearly too loud to handle.
It was still going on when Sally and Paul entered the room, the mother ripping an oven mitt off her hand and crossing her arms whilst her husband snickered under his breath. He cast her a look and wondered, "Did we miss something?"
