Bad Batch As People on a Family Road Trip
Hunter
The driver. It used to be Tech but he was banned from driving on long road trips, so Hunter had to take over.
Made them leave twenty minutes later than schedule because he decided that when they were getting into the car was the perfect time to use the restroom.
In charge of the music (he’s playing typical American dad on a road trip music). To everyone’s horror, he sings along (I headcanon that he cannot sing for shit).
Regularly reaching his hand back for snacks.
Will get annoyed at least once and threaten to turn the car around.
Somehow knows which route will take them by the best spot to stop for food.
Constantly checking on his siblings to see how they are doing. Mostly Crosshair.
Wrecker
Sitting in the back with Omega.
Constantly asking Echo for snacks and sharing with Omega.
Got bored halfway through Sleeping Beauty and decided to try and annoy Tech.
Kept trying not to laugh with Omega after Hunter yelled at them, but was actually solemn when Echo yelled at them.
Lets Omega rest on his shoulder.
Encourages Hunter’s singing and sings along with him occasionally.
Falls asleep in the last half hour of the trip.
Tech
Banned from driving because the last time he drove on a road trip he made Crosshair throw up twice and gave Hunter a migraine.
Just listens to podcasts now and stares out the window, occasionally pointing things out to Omega. Also texting a lot with Phee and occasionally smiling at his phone, causing Echo to tease him a bit.
Starts the most random conversations out of the blue. He’s just like me fr
At one rest stop he noticed Crosshair looking particularly pale, so he wordlessly disappeared to buy some cold cans of ginger ale for him to have in the cooler if he needed them.
Got so annoyed at Wrecker kicking his chair that he actually snapped and said some curse words. Echo and Hunter were not impressed.
Crosshair
Passenger Princess because he gets carsick.
His carsickness is the reason the AC is on full blast and everyone in the car either has on a sweater or sweatshirt or a blanket draped over themselves.
The only one who gets to ask to take a break outside of Hunter’s pre-planned schedule.
Was very touched by Tech buying him some soda when he wasn’t feeling that great.
Doesn’t talk much during the trip, mostly just stares at the road in front of him, drinks the ginger ale Tech got him or eats some crackers, or tries to take a nap until they get to wherever they’re going.
Complains about Hunter’s singing and music, but secretly enjoys it since it helps to distract him from how awful he feels.
Echo
Has a large bag with everything they might possibly need, from medicine to snacks to essential oils to hand sanitizer to barf bags. His brothers started calling it the diaper bag. He points out that they’re the ones who use it the most, so what does that make them?
Only person fussing over Crosshair more than Hunter. Constantly asking if he needs more ginger ale, meds, crackers, or a bag. Crosshair would find it endearing if it wasn’t so annoying.
Lost his cool and yelled at Tech and Wrecker for fighting, which made the whole car sit in tense silence for about twenty minutes.
Brought a cooler full of snacks and drinks for the car and to have at their final destination so they don’t need to go shopping.
Omega
The reason for the road trip.
Watching Disney movies with Wrecker in the backseat.
Ends up taking a little nap after lunch on Wrecker’s shoulder.
Convinces her brothers to get a sweet treat from a random drive-thru after lunch.
Also points out things she sees through the window, mostly so she and Tech can chat about them.

Since it's Star Wars day: Headcanon time!
I've seen a lot of people talk about how Hunter's enhanced senses sometimes give him migraines/sensory overload, and I am 100% with you all on that. But. Hear me out. Crosshair has a similar problem.
So, okay, this is getting longer and a bit more ramble-y than I meant for it to be, but bear with me.
I'm... a little unclear on what Crosshair's enhancement actually is. In s01e01 Tech just calls it "Crosshair's sharpshooting skills", and I haven't reached the part of Clone Wars where the Batch is introduced yet, but from what I've read/seen on tumblr, Hunter introduces Crosshair as someone who's 'not much of a conversationalist' but who can 'hit a precise target from 10 klicks' (as I remember it). My understanding is that, if Crosshair can see it, and it's within range of whatever weapon he's got at the moment, he can hit it.
But how?
The general consensus seems to be that Crosshair has enhanced vision: He can see further, sharper, more than others (I do have some questions about that, actually; some of them more serious than others. For example: Does he need reading glasses? Can he see shrimp colors? But that's another post.).
But here's the thing, though: Being able to see something isn't enough to be able to hit it. So this is where this post reaches headcanon territory: Crosshair is incredibly smart. Maybe on level with Tech, just in a different way. All those split-second calculations for distance, angle, wind, movement (direction and speed, of both himself and his target), gravity (which varies! depending on the planet/moon/whatever!), and probably a bunch of other things I haven't thought about? Yeah. Our boy is smart, okay. Maybe it's more instinctive, where Tech is more, well, technical, but. Anyway.
So that's one headcanon/Thought, which leads into the next: Crosshair is processing A LOT of information at once, all the time. We all are, when we move about in the world, or even just exist in the world - more than we realize. But I think Crosshair probably processes even more than almost everyone else, at least of visual input. Same way Hunter is constantly processing everything he takes in from his enhanced senses. It's maybe easier for Crosshair to deal with an oncoming migraine or whatever, if all he needs is to... close his eyes for a while, or go somewhere with less visual stimuli (the halls on Kamino must have been Hell). But that's just not always an option: When on missions, during training, hell, even just getting a damn meal in the mess hall with the bright lights and all the other clones.
Which leads me to the third (and final, for tonight) thought: It's probably part of the reason Cross doesn't talk much. There's more to it, most likely. Some people just don't talk much, for no particular reason other than that's who they are. But part of it is probably also that his job is to see things; to hang back a little and observe, and strike with deathly precision when the situation calls for it. But also... You know how sometimes it can be a little difficult to pay attention to a conversation while the TV is on? Or how you can't always read while the people are talking on the radio? Or how you can more or less follow along with several conversations in the room at once, but the second you have to take part in one of them, you can't pay attention to the rest? I figure it's a little like that for Crosshair. He sees so much all the time, and sometimes (often) he has to choose between talking or processing what he's seeing. And on a mission, processing less of what he's seeing might mean missing a danger to his squad, so then it's a necessity. When not on a mission, well. With the read I've gotten on his character from what I've seen so far... probably he just doesn't find most people outside his squad worth the energy.

✨ a "how the batch deals with their enhancements on bad day" list ✨
hunter
would get the most horrific migraines and sensory overloads known to man. i mean, feeling everything all at once, all the time? he is a talented tracker and combatant, but there would be days where he can't turn it off, or days where he feels too much.
the training to control his enhancement and use it to fight in combat would have been brutal, as he'd need to compartmentalise everything in order to focus. he'd push himself in training though, often far beyond his limits, because he wants to be in control of his enhancement, and himself, in order to lead.
noise cancelling headphones, a weighted blanket, complete darkness, and aspirin are his 4 best friends.
tech is hunter's 5th best friend, who provides the appropriate amounts of aspirin for hunter's medication sensitivities and allergies.
tech
probably another migraine sufferer. his brain would refuse to be quiet at the best of times, and it would be loud when sometimes, he just wants quiet.
being understimulated is a death sentence. his hands must do something always, or his mouth must be moving in to info dump, or both.
have you seen that man's posture? too many thoughts in his smart head make him slouch. probably has a sore neck & back to complement his near-constant headaches, so he ends up curled up in a bunk similar to hunter, playing recorded sounds or listening to audio books to give his brain something to focus on while he rests.
strikes me as grumpy when someone disturbs him in the middle of a migraine, or a nap to combat the !!!! feeling when he's understimulated or overstimulated.
wrecker
muscle aches for days, especially when he was growing as a cadet. he'd have so many growing pains, and ongoing joint pain. probably early onset arthritis from how quickly and how big he grew, particularly in his knees and ankles.
is that man's heart okay? did kamino monitor his heart health? i really hope so, given his size. maybe he has a weak heart, or even a fake heart (borrowed from a friend's headcanons there!) to compensate for his size and the requirement to pump that much blood around the body.
ice packs, heat packs and physical therapy are wrecker's best friends (and like hunter, tech is also wrecker's 4th best friend for managing the ongoing PT).
separate but also similar, the phantom pain from his ear and eye could bother him at times, particularly if the prosthetic eye needs to be removed for cleaning and/or maintenance. maybe he'd wear an eyepatch to help with the pain.
crosshair
eye strain. just. eye strain, forever and a day. crosshair could be extremely farsighted, so maybe he even wears reading glasses for use when off duty.
yet another fellow headacher sufferer.
cool compresses for his eyes, and complete darkness, are crosshair's 2 best friends (and we can't forget tech, who is cooling the compresses to crosshair's perfect desired temperature to help soothe his eyes).
echo
i have so much i could write here, but i believe the batch would have been good at dealing with echo's ptsd and prosthetics. tech would be fantastic at maintaining and managing each different prosthetic, while giving echo full control over any modifications. hunter would be able to preempt echo's panic attacks and keep him safe. wrecker can give those good, deep pressure hugs. crosshair always has the right thing to say when they talk about echo's time as a prisoner of war.
again, headaches, with that neural interface and adjusting to it while scomping in.
a lot of the time, echo just needs time and the knowledge he has support around him. he also has rex a stone's throw away.
