WTF do you mean jailbreaking my "smart" TV to install Linux in order to run adblock on my TV would be "Felony Contempt of Buisiness Model" That sounds like a crime made up by The Board in Outer Worlds.

And companies want you to forget that so, so badly. When McDonalds was sued a while ago because their coffee was too hot, they spent millions in PR to make it look like this was part of an imaginary "lawsuits gone too far". In reality, they knowingly made their coffee far too hot for safe consumption because the smell drove up prices, and the CLASS ACTION lawsuit (meaning it affected a great many people and not just one person, another thing McD's tried to hide) won because their coffee had permanently damaged people's bodies. In one instance melding a woman's genitals to her thigh, requiring extensive surgery to correct. Coffee doesn't do that normally.
When regulation doesn't protect us from capitalism, even something as mundane as coffee can permanently damage us or worse. This system doesn't work, and regulation saves lives. When these regulations Trump is destroying fail, people will start dying en masse, and we need to resist. But ultimately, we can't expect regulations to solve everything or last forever when capitalists don't like them. We need a dismantling of capitalism. We need to replace it with a system that's designed around humanity.

Capitalism kills.
Republicans deregulating kills.
Anti-prevention reactionary ignorance kills.

I can't articulate how utterly inhumane it is that we've not only normalized, but valorized, sleep deprivation. We treat it like an achievement.
Sleep deprivation increases your risk for a myriad of serious illnesses like heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke.
And that's just to name a few.
Some of the most important cellular work we do all day happens while we're sleeping. When we don't get enough quality sleep and rest, our cells literally can't effectively repair themselves.
It literally damages every system in our bodies.
Capitalism lies.
Getting enough sleep is actually one of the most meaningfully "productive" things we can do.

I'm just going to say that it should be astronauts or ppl with an interest in astronomy who go to space. Not a billionaire, not a mid generic popstar or a mid ass celeb. So many ppl DREAM of going to space, & these idiots get to go to space just to flex their $ & take selfies.

yo actually like go to your local library!!!!! theyre like super important and helpful for a lot of things. off the top of my head my local library has an employment office to help people find jobs, lets you rent power tools for free, has a zine collection (that's just something i think is cool), and a queer book club so you can socialize with queer ppl without alcohol. And I don't even know what else. I don't even live in a big city. it's also a great place to be indoors where you don't have to spend money. GO TO YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY!!!!!
i will never be against piracy ever but i also need physical media to remain

People in Britain! If you want to connect to fellow workers and learn all about organising please consider coming to our conference in Manchester on July 26!
You don't need to be in a union, you don't need to have union recognition at work, you don't need to know anything!
This is specifically for people who are interested in learning about organising at work, no matter what stage, even if the idea has just crept up in your mind!
We are not affiliated to any political party or any particular union. We are here to support each other in organising our workplaces.
Our conferences are participatory - we have had enough lectures from above and are more interested in a rank-and-file viewpoint and democratic organisation.
Tickets starts at £5 including lunch!
We also have free childcare available, please sign up early if you require this!
Get your tickets here: https://troublemakersat.work/conference-2025/
And given the recent news from Britain: As one of the coordinators of Troublemakers at Work, I can only stretch that I will always support trans people (because I mean it when I say solidarity forever), JK Rowling is a despicable transphobe and British institutions clearly care more about catering to her and her thugs' selfish interests than enhancing the rights of oppressed people.
