I think one of the reasons I’m iffy on Saiouma is because Kokichi as a person is actually rather childish and I think he really needs someone who indulges him in that. Not only that but I think he needs someone who bites back, who’s willing to challenge him and bicker and give as a good as he does.

I think from my perspective Shuichi is just a little too… grounded. He’s so serious and literal, he has a hard time playing along. Like in Kaito’s free time events when Kaito’s telling this long, obviously exaggerated tall tale Shuichi spends most of that time wondering why he’s being told the story rather than just enjoying it. It’s not that I think this is even a bad trait—hell I’m like this. It’s just that I think it doesn’t really mix well with Kokichi.

Like Saiouma does have that “chase me down and unspool me” aspect to it that does hit rlly nice, and I do think Kokichi wants to be understood. The problem I guess is I think Kokichi would eventually get bored since Shuichi doesn’t press back and play along much and is more inclined to just try and pry him for answers. I also think Shuichi would eventually grow tired of Kokichi’s games and the way he dances around truth and Information, stringing people along like a carrot for a donkey. Shuichi would want answers and I don’t think Kokichi would be inclined to give them as quickly or as openly as Shuichi would want.

Kokichi wants a playful relationship, a challenge. Shuichi wants someone who can help balance him and steady him. Their priorities are just very different.

one of those depicted “haters” who were called homophobic/sexist/abelist/whatever negative label you were given because you speak out against the overzealous shippers who are harmful towards others and reinforces “canon” material despite the fact that there are plenty of evidence that the original creator never planned on putting those two characters in a relationship in the first place and wasn’t looking to make sexuality a controversy, CLAP YOUR HANDS!

Okay, in all seriousness, I hate that this is the case. 

Today I read a discussion being made by two shippers on their shared fav OTP. While one was rational about it, the other was making a point in overly generalizing vocal NOTPers (?) as just salty people who are just out to get them for some reason by having the audacity in showing PROOF and presenting FACTS that their ship isn’t canon. And even if it is hinted or eventually canon, it’s not in the right means like how most shippers claim it is. A lot of them have rose-tinted lenses when it comes to certain ships, when in reality, their “canon” material is anything but pleasant or healthy. If it weren’t for this incessant self-deluding, gas-lighting and misinformation regarding the facts about what’s considered “positive” and “canonical”, I probably wouldn’t be nearly as vocal and angry as to whatever it is you have to say about what you like.

What’s hilarious to me is that this same overzealous shipper that told non-shippers or “haters” to “suck on their own bs” eventually made a hypocritical statement by saying that “XXX shippers are not ALL fujoshis” and it’s “harmful to generalize a certain demographic like that”, even though THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING WHEN TALKING ABOUT NON-SHIPPERS.

I don’t like certain popular ships. SaiOuma? Shizaya? No, thank you. (Although I’m more lenient on the idea of Shizaya than the former)

You like them? Cool. But my frustration doesn’t lie in the fact that it’s simply popular or even that it’s toxic. I don’t have to step in nearly as much if that’s how it is in the series alone. I mostly voice out my own rage when it comes to the shippers themselves who are making it worse than it has to be. You guys just make yourself come across incredibly entitled when it comes to speaking POSITIVELY about your own likes, while those who think anything negative regarding that specific thing you enjoy should just be quiet because... they’re just not allowed???

I wanna make this clear and just wanna show you where I draw *my* line on the matter. 

I am fully aware that if someone was making the effort in entering your message box and acting obviously antagonistic or even hypocritical about the points they are making in regards to something you like, then that’s where you can act annoyed and speak out against them. So long as THEY are the ones who were overstepping their bounds, then you can speak negatively about that specific anti. But if you just hopping from blog to blog and are making these careless claims about why non-shippers are all just petty people while coming across as though shippers haven’t done ANYTHING wrong and act as though there aren’t making EVERYTHING about their OTP, then I’m sorry. The issue lies with you here.

 I’m just saying.... There are problematic people from both sides. Both shippers and non-shippers. And there are those who know better than to oversimplify matters by saying the other community is worse and we are superior. If you were to act like one of your kind is NOT guilty of acting out of line, then you may not have been here long enough or are just deluded.

"You actually got sick?!" Byakuya exclaimed upon waking up after a loud sneeze and shoving his glasses onto his face, blinking to adjust to the light. Kokichi was sniffing like crazy, his nose red like a cherry tomato and his eyes teary. The light in the bathroom down the hall was on, and he heard Nagito rummaging through the medicine cabinet. The purple haired boy wiped at his nose with his sleeve furiously once he realized Byakuya was awake, trying to cover up any symptoms he had and failing miserably. "What did I say yesterday? I thought I made myself perfectly clear."

"Oh, chill out, 'Kuya, you sound like a mom," Kokichi replied, grinning goofily and sucking his nose fluids back in. "It's not a big deal, I'm not that sick." Then he sneezed, shivering and wrapping his blanket around him. Not that sick, my ass , Byakuya thought. He truly didn't have the energy to deal with this right now. When Kokichi was ill, he was stubborn. He didn't like to listen, and he strived to make his sick days miserable for everyone. In the past, Byakuya had just stayed out of Kokichi's way when he saw that his nose was more than a little red, but now they were living together . There was no way out of this. At least he had Nagito to help out, right?

Nagito came into the living room, eyes half closed and head drooping as he stumbled over to the couch and flopped down. He coughed violently into his arm, letting out a tired sigh once he finished and tossing the medicine he grabbed to Kokichi. Wonderful. Nagito was sick, too. Just great . Byakuya was absolutely thrilled. Nagito saw Byakuya awake and loosely waved. "Good morning, 'Kuya. How was your sleep?"

"I wish it was eternal. We never would've gone outside if I knew you two were going to get sick. Absolute morons," he muttered, dragging a hand down his face. Was his head already starting to hurt, or was he just imagining it? Nagito lowered his head with a look of shame, while Kokichi just rolled his eyes. Byakuya sighed.

He stood up and grabbed his pillow, walking to his room and throwing it onto his bed. If he chose to ignore the two boys all day, their condition would surely worsen. The best they could do on their own is take medicine, and would that really be enough? No, he didn't think so. On the other hand, if he were to care for them even after stating directly that he wasn't going to, they'd definitely be stubborn and give him a run for his money. They'd also have a field day letting him clean up after them.

To care for or not to care for? That was the question, and Byakuya hated to say that he already had the answer. He couldn't let them get any more ill, or neglect their cold (because they would if given the chance). He had no choice but to play the role of Mikan Tsumiki from Nagito's class and nurse them back to health. They owed him for this one.

second note: okay, i promise i'll be posting soft dr2 headcanons later today, i just saw that the third chapter didn't have as much attention because i hadn't posted about it on here, lol! but i swear this won't be the only thing on my page :)

i know this seems a little unfair to saiouma week but in the case of kaemaki week, since neither of our weeks really went onto the other platform, i really don't think these are comparable. kaemaki week on tumblr barely reached instagram or twitter at all and the same goes for it on instagram-- obviously, because i didn't know about it until just now. saiouma is a MASSIVE pairing and its entries reach both tumblr and twitter-- not to mention they blow up the ao3 feed. i just think for such a popular pairing they should be a little bit aware of the people around them.
