Because I'm only seeing other Jews posting about this, non-Jews I need you to be aware that for the past month or two there has been a wave of bomb threats and swattings at synagogues all across the US. They usually do it when services are being livestreamed. I haven't seen a single non-Jew talking about this. High holidays are coming up in a few weeks, which is when most attacks happen against our communities. We're worried, and we need people to know what's happening to us.

People took “both parties are incredibly flawed” to mean “both parties are exactly the same,” but they simply aren’t exactly the same.

Dems and reds are swayed by different things and they are all individuals on a spectrum—they aren’t all one hive mind, even when they come off as one. The demographics predominantly backing each party are different. White folks without a university degree are most likely to vote red, Black women with or without a formal education are more likely to vote blue. LGBTQ+ folks are more likely to vote blue. Fundamentalists/evangelicals are more likely to vote red.

In a country this divided, it is so silly to suggest these parties are the same. They are both flawed, yes, and have particularly evil individuals within their walls, but they are categorically not the same. It’s been an entire joke that bipartisan support is this rare thing no one ever sees.

None of what is happening right now had to happen. It is happening, however, and it’s because of the current POTUS (and all the far-right 1% weirdos propping him up). The only way we could have stopped POTUS 47, in our current system, was by voting for Harris. Some of y’all dropped the ball. Now is the time to accept that you made a mistake and need to reevaluate. I’m not going to say that you’re as bad as MAGA, as I believe that to be unhelpfully inflammatory and disingenuous, but you still did help them. You did not serve the resistance against fascism.

im so tired and im never going to understand the people on here who are still insisting that everything would have been the same under kamala as if the elimination of USAID and imperilment of PEPFAR hasn't already affected the lives of millions of HIV-positive people in the global south - as if biden wasnt one of the most proactive presidents on climate change, as if no connection exists between changing weather patterns, deaths from natural disasters in the world's poorest countries, food scarcity, and resulting political instability...it must feel exceptionally self-affirming to not have to think about environmental justice at all and to accept the gutting of protective acts and our legal systems that provided the recourse for brown and black people to prosecute big companies for the poisoning their communities...must be incredible to inhabit a mindset where any collateral damage along the path to the fabled revolution doesn't matter
