Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crepe's nightgown
The moment when Wukong made everything clear. His love, his hatred, the torment of love & lust intertwining for the first time of his life and the realization of what these feelings meant. Things were so much simpler before he met Crepe, He was The Great Sage equal to heaven, Sun Wukong, THE MONKEY KING!. And yet this king has found himself kneeling before the only woman he considered to be a Queen.
His love, His Queen ❤️

a potential scandal
ANTHONY BRIDGERTON X FEM!READER | fluff
summary; it was hate at first sight. or that's what he thought anyway. [ fem!pronouns, anthony's a lil bit mean, suggestive language]
Tumblr media
When Anthony's mother announced to the room that he was looking for a wife, he acted as gentleman-like as he could. Despite the sudden chaos around him, he remained calm, poise and collected.
Until you crashed into him with a lemonade.
"NO!" he winced, looking at his now-stained jacket. "Ruining my clothes just to have a conversation with me isn't the most cleverest plan!"
"I'm sorry- wait, what?" you snapped, meeting his eyes with a frown.
"It's disrespectful and deceiving—"
"I see your ego is bigger than your," you paused, deciding to swallow your words rather than cause a scene. He took the silence as purposeful.
"Excuse me? Bigger than my what?"
"I meant your hat," you finished, rolling your eyes. "Now if that's all, I have other places to be. Good day."
"I see what you're doing!" he yelled half-amusedly as you walked away. "Leaving just to make me follow you? Oldest trick in the book. Not going to fall for it."
You hadn't even acknowledged his words. He waited smugly, knowing that you would come back any second with yet another excuse.
Seconds passed.
He looked at the clock. The event had hardly began. Why would you leave so early if you weren't trying to catch his attention? Were you in trouble? Now that he thought about it, you did seem extremely anxious.
He groaned, tried to rub the lemonade stain (failed), and followed your path.
-
Apparently, you had already called for your carriage, and Anthony felt a little like an extremely annoyed Prince Charming as he chased down his Cinderella.
"Where do you think you're going?" he asked loudly, just as you were about to step inside the small carriage. You turned with an extremely perplexed look.
"Are you following me?"
"No! Well yes," he shrugged. "My family did this event, surely I could inquire you on why you're leaving without even having one dance?"
"I have other business," you said sharply.
He scoffed. "So you're one of those women who prefer to be alone instead of sociable?"
"I have no distaste for events. What I find interesting is how you jumped to the conclusion that I was lying? As if I had nothing more important to do than dance around fancy halls with men I'm not even interested in?"
"Oh so you have a discreet partner!" he said, connecting the dots. "Someone not from a well-respected family, I'm assuming."
"I said I have other business," you hissed, and he was nearly startled at the change of your tone. Yes, you sounded annoyed before, but now you seemed downright enraged.
While he was left pondering his guilt, you had already disappeared.
"Why are you out here, brother?" a familiar voice asked, and Anthony turned to face Daphne with newfound determination. "The lady who left just now; I need to organize some men to look for her. Something screams she's in danger and I must—" "Poke your nose into things that aren't clearly your business?" she prodded, raising an eyebrow. "It's the right thing to do," he said, sighing in a way that said he was impatient. "I do have to find out who she is. What if I send a search party? Or do I ask Lady Danbury? She clearly knows some tricks — where are you going?" "Pardon me, but who was the lady who just left?" she asked the nearest butler. He nodded in acknowledgment and came out of his statue-like pose. "That'd be Miss L/N." "See? I know a trick or two myself!" Daphne said triumphanthly, before doing a double take. "Wait, did you say Miss L/N? As in Y/N L/N?" "You know her?" Anthony asked, stunned. "Know her? She's practically my closest friend! Why did she leave without telling me?" "You have friends?" Daphne scoffed. "I've more friends than you. Must you think I'm always in one event or another? I have a social life too!" "I wasn't implying," he took a deep breath in. "So L/N. Is she the kind of person you'd say is involved with scandals?" "Certainly. But not the kind she may end up being harmed in, so don't you dare try to spread rumors either way!" "I wasn't — a gentleman doesn't spread rumo-" he began, but Daphne had already left.
-
TWO WEEKS LATER, BRIDGERTON GARDEN
-
"Are you quite sure about this?" Daphne asked in a whisper.
"Sure as I can be," you replied, solemn. "I didn't mean to make a fuss. I love this turn of events but I also felt responsible."
"I, for one, am glad you told—" her words were cut off by a rustle among the trees. Frowning, she gestured you to stay where you are and walked further near the woods.
"Sister! What are you doing here?" Anthony asked, his eyes on the path where she came from. "Quite late in the evening for a walk, isn't it?"
"I was visiting my friends," she lied, hoping you wouldn't be stupid enough to get out from the hiding spot. "I'm allowed to have some, aren't I? Or do I need your written approval?"
"If you're visiting them unchaperoned, then yes you may!" Anthony said hastily. "Which one of your friends lives in our backyard anyway?"
"I was coming back from the town."
"Don't try to lie, I can see someone's silhouette right there!"
"Daphne? You okay?" your voice called, making her groan internally. When you stumbled upon the scene, both you and Anthony had your jaws drop to the floor. Simultaneously.
"You!" he said, in a betrayed voice. Then he looked at his sister. "And you! What are you doing with that witch?"
"Anthony!" Daphne said warningly. "She's my friend, as you very well know. I didn't want you two to meet because I was sure you both would disapprove of one another."
"Witch is a flattering way to address me, so I'm sure we'll be best friends in no time," you said, rolling your eyes. You seemed to do that a lot in his presence. Anthony, on the other hand, still hadn't gotten over his shock.
"But what are you doing here?" he asked wildly. "Don't tell me that you meet my sister in the garden every time just for my expense! Secret meetings usually mean trouble, and you look like nothing but!"
"She was about to leave," Daphne tried, but you may have shown a crack of guilt on your face. Anthony almost smiled.
"Speak. Now."
You sighed. "Your sister's been attending my meetings. Eloise, I mean."
"Your what?"
"Meetings — now I would be normally delighted, but there's a trick to revolting. One of the main things you don't do is show up in rich clothes that people can easily recognize. She's confident, smart and you should be proud of her; but I feel as though there have been rumors lately. If any of ton disgraces her in any way, I won't stand for it."
Anthony listened to your rant, but nothing made sense to him.
"Your what?" he repeated.
"Meetings!" you scoffed. "Do I have to spell it out? I'm involved in politics, specifically women's rights. Eloise joined too but she's not being clever with her disguises."
"OH!" he laughed. "So that's where you were sneaking off that day!" — He ceased the laugh just as soon. — "Wait, you're involved in politics?"
"Is he normally this stupid?" you asked Daphne, who was watching the exchange with an eyebrow raised. She had thought it'd be wise to keep the two of you separate, but this was not how she thought your fights would go. Not as playfully light. Emphasis on playfully.
"I'm going to have a talk with my sister," he hissed. "Does your family know what you're up to?"
"No, and no."
He raised an eyebrow. "You're forbidding me from talking to my own sister? And here I thought you had no sense of humor!"
"I'm saving you from embarrassment. Do you honestly think she's going to listen to you?"
"You're not a good influence either!"
"Daphne and I will take care of it," you said sharply. "And trust me, our methods will not involve saying she shouldn't come to the meetings. In fact, I'm going to encourage it."
"That's not your place!"
"It's not yours either," Daphne interrupted. Anthony gasped.
"Et tu, Brute?"
"I'm leaving," you said, rolling your eyes at his dramatics. "I'll see you tomorrow Daph."
"Get home safe!" she yelled after you, then turned casually to see the scowl upon her brother.
"Your friends are infuriating," he declared.
"At least they're not fun-killers."
A gasp again. "I happen to be very fun!"
"You happen to look as if you've got a plan already. Whatever it is, don't do it," she said, firm as can be.
"I'M NOT PLANNING ANYTHING!"
"Yes, you are."
(Yes, he was.)
-
As much as you were as tolerable to him as wrinkled suits — Anthony did know one thing you said was true.
Eloise was smart. Most importantly, she was a Bridgerton. She'd deny or protest or make fun of him just to escape from his claims. What he needed was to catch her in the act.
So for one evening, he left his top hat and jacket back home, wore the dirtiest shirt he could find, and borrowed a servant's shoes. He had fears that he'd be clearly visible even in a disguise, but those melted into thin air when he realized the pub he was in was packed with people, very loud and extremely chaotic. No one spared a second glance at him.
"Want a glass of our finest wine?" the bartender asked as he sat down near the counter.
No offense but this place looks as if it doesn't know the meaning of fine. Or wine.
"Is that a trick question Archie? Of course he'd prefer the beer instead!" your voice said, making him almost fall off sideways.
Somehow you had appeared right beside him, nonchalantly holding your face in your palms. It almost looked cute. He then noticed the lack of fancy laces and hairdos. He noted how you were more at ease here. He rejected the beer and watched you earnestly.
"Am I that predictable?" he asked, groaning,
"A for effort," you said, laughing. "So why are you here? Suddenly interested in equal rights?"
"No place for a Bridgerton with honors to protect," the bartender added, clearly mocking. Anthony had enough.
"Is there a place we can talk where it isn't this loud?" he asked, standing up. You followed his lead and pointed to the nearest door. He walked cautiously, expecting a jumpscare of some sort. But the room was some kind of closet — dimly lit and stacks of books everywhere.
You closed the door behind you. "What's going on?"
"I'm here to see Eloise," he said, hands behind his back and head held high. You giggled. That caught him off guard.
"Nope, I'm sorry but you're not forbidding her from coming here," your words were calm. No anger hinted your features. He almost wished it did. It was harder to talk to you when you were being perfectly reasonable.
"I know what's good for her. Me," he protested. "This is a dangerous place!"
"This? Just because everyone's having fun? I promise you, she doesn't drink."
"Stop laughing!"
"Seriously, what made you so glum? What's the worst thing that could happen?"
"People could know! This thing you're doing — the meetings; they aren't proper!"
"Oh, and this is?"
At first, he didn't understand what you were talking about. He had his eyebrows scrunched, so you went on.
"Us alone in a room? Unchaperoned?" you gasped dramatically. "OH the horror! What if someone enters the room and demands you to marry me?"
"You'd be lucky to marry a viscount!" he said defensively, hardly thinking about his words. "Frankly it'd be me who will be in torment for the rest of my life."
"If you love viscounts, you should marry one."
He scoffed. "You know what I mean! The money, the influence, the events — isn't that what you're looking for?"
Your mouth fell open. "You're seriously proposing to me right now?"
"No!" his reply was too quick. Anthony Bridgerton blushed red like a tomato.
"Good, because that was a terrible way to convince someone to marry you."
"I don't need words to make someone marry me. Just 10 minutes alone behind closed doors is far from enough," he said boldly.
"Just 10 minutes?" you tsk-ed. "Now I'm really glad I'm not marrying you, my lord."
That's disrespectful. Crude. You're annoying, I should tell everyone what you're up to! Then there was another part of his brain that said — prove her wrong.
But no matter what, he knew whatever he had to say will be met with more witty replies, sharp glances and determination that matched his. He felt fit to storm out instead.
You were still smiling when you went ahead to do your speech.
-
"Beer. And keep pouring till I say no," Anthony said, seating himself beside the counter yet again.
"You're staying for the meeting?" the bartender asked, surprised.
He looked at the small stage, the one where you were currently walking towards to. He looked at his sister near the door, who had yet to notice him. He listened to the happy laughs and whoops, and most importantly — the beats of his heart. It was almost as loud as the pub.
"Yes," he said simply, earning a smile from the bartender. He didn't even notice the glass of beer in front of him. He was too busy looking at you.

can i request an anthony bridgerton x reader fic where he’s tired from all his work and the reader visits him at his work room and he cuddles her and leans into her touch and became all cuddly to the reader?

pairing: Antony Bridgerton x (gender neutral) Reader
summary: encouraging Antony to take a break from all his work and come cuddle instead
warnings: none it’s just fluff

You hear a deep sigh just as you walk past Antony’s study. It was already very late; indeed you had been on your way to bed when you heard the sound.
You knock gently before inching open the study door. You find Antony slumped back in his chair, his hands covering his face, a dozen papers strewn haphazardly across the desk in front of him.
“Are you alright my love?” You ask softly when he doesn’t acknowledge your coming into the room.
“Hmm?” He looks up, blinking his tired and sore eyes.
“I said, are you quite alright my love? You look throughly exhausted.”
Antony takes a deep sigh and rakes a hand through his already messy hair.
“Hm, no I’m fine” he lies, still blinking his weary eyes.
“Don’t you lie to me, Antony Bridgerton” you chastise playfully as you walk over to him, closing the study door behind you.
You walk round the side of desk and lean on it just in front of Antony, your hands lightly gripping the edge for support. You gently nudge Antony with your foot.
“Talk to me. Tell me what’s wrong” you coax gently.
Antony shakes his head.
“It’s not that anything is wrong, exactly. There’s just a lot to do and there seems to be no bloody time to do it” he exhales. “Or rather, it’s as if somehow the workload never seems to actually decrease despite the fact that I am practically in here doing said work almost 24/7” he huffs.
“Mmm” you agree with a knowing look.
Antony sees the look on your face and instantly his expression changes to one of sympathy and sorrow. He reaches out to take one of your hands, holding it in his, rubbing his thumb over your knuckles gently.
“I’m sorry my darling” he looks at you earnestly. “I know I’ve been neglecting spending time with you. It’s not fair on either of us.”
“I have to agree with you there” you smile gently at him.
“Come here” he whispers, tugging on your hand, coaxing you into his lap.
You allow yourself to be pulled into his lap, sitting on his thighs and wrapping your arms around his neck. He wraps his arms around your body, holding you tight against him. You gently scratch the back of head and neck with your nails, listening to the small hum of satisfaction that leaves Antony. He rests his head on your chest and you in turn rest your chin on the top of his head. The two of you stay like that for a while, not speaking, just enjoying the feeling of being close, listening to the gentle crackling of the fireplace.
“I’ve missed you” he sighs softly against you chest.
He then leans back to look up at you.
“I’m sorry I’ve been so distant. Locking myself away in the study almost all day every day. There’s just so much paperwork” his eyes look almost sad behind weariness.
“It’s okay, I understand” you cup his cheek gently. “But I think you’ve done enough for today.”
You trace a finger down his face softly, smiling warmly at him. You then get up off his lap, holding onto his hand and pulling lightly.
“Come Mister Bridgerton, I think it’s time for a nightcap.”

These two had such a hold over me, I just binged this season finally.
I am so late to this. I never finished the first season of Bridgerton. I know, I am as surprised as you, but I didn’t really enjoy the first season for a variety of reasons. But, I did have it spoiled for me. So I watched this season in 1 day.
There are issues with this season, many, most of all that it is a little too long, but I don’t even care. Because I have Anthony and Kate. I love the angst, the passion, the love declarations (all 15 of them). I haven’t seen a romance that made me feel like this in a while. A looooong while. There are so many other plots in this season that I could not care less about, but the entire time I was watching I was itching to see them interact again, flash a look, a smile or yell at each other.
More TV shows need to do this please and thank you.
Also credit to Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley for their insane chemistry I guess.

After months of seeing what Kanthony shippers post in the about Edwina in the Bridgerton tag, I've come to the conclusion that Kate x Anthony isn't a good romance story.
It isn't a good romance because the only way 95% of the shippers can enjoy their ship is by villainizing Edwina.
I admit I have seen some valid criticism of Edwina’s character, but 9 times out of 10, when the criticism comes from Kanthony shippers, Edwina is depicted as an evil spoilish brat who’s too dumb because she should have noticed her sister (her own sister) and her fiance had feelings for each other.
Never blaming Kate nor Anthony, but Edwina is the cause of this mess, even though none of this would have happened if it weren’t for Anthony’s stupidity.
I was rooting for Kate and Anthony when I started watching the show but got turned off with all the sneaking around, lying and cheating. I wish Anthony never had proposed to Edwina. I wish that there hadn't been a library scene, a proposal or a wedding with Edwina.
And I always wondered how some people could get attached to Kate and Anthony's story despite the cheating and the answer is simple: they put all the blame on Edwina. It’s the only way they can make sense of that romance.
I was wondering why they didn't seem to notice all the little things that were wrong in the Kanthony storyline, but it seems that they did notice, but decided to make everything Edwina's fault.
I can't even count how many times I seen posts saying Edwina was dumb and too naive and should have noticed things sooner. Explain to me how a character can be too naive for trusting her own sister and for thinking that a man who bought her a freaking horse and proposed to her doesn’t have feelings for her sister.
They love to act like Edwina is a demon for calling Kate "half sister" in the heat of the moment because she had just found out her fiance and her sister had feelings for each other on the very day of her wedding. Edwina was mad at Kate for an episode an a half and in the end was very supportive of Kate. But if you read some posts in the fandom, she was a monster who kept torturing Kate until the end of the show. When she was always encouraging before their fight, and even after the fight.
It turns out that Kanthony shippers see all of this, they see that the romance didn't make sense, that Anthony's behavior was awful (they even kissed on the day of the weeding) and the only way they can make their ship look good, without admitting how awful the character's behavior was to villainize Edwina for the smallest things.
If the only way you can enjoy your ship is by denigrating another female character, your ship is not that good.
