enjoy the silence II | ao’nung.
ao’nung x fem!sully!reader
previous part | part two | next part
Tumblr media
synopsis: Ao’nung’s words had hurt you, but his contradictory actions hurt you more. You realize your mistake in your idea that you’d be a good match, but it may have already cost you your life.
genre: angst.
contains: more pining from reader, mixed signals, ilu riding. mentions of near death experience, suffocation, overwhelming feelings. ao’nung literally being so confusing. requited love after all?
a/n: welcome to the second installment of enjoy the silence! the first part ended up being posted two days earlier than expected (the last time i ever schedule a post) and still needed scenes added but, i’m so happy you all loved it so much anyway! i tagged everyone who asked to be tagged. thank you guys so much for the support!
The morning after Ao’nung had said those things to you by the shore came quickly. After he had stalked off, you went back to your mauri, purposely taking the long way home to be with your thoughts for a while. Did you read his signs wrong? Was he even giving any signs to begin with? Or had you been clouded with the illusion of being a perfect pair that you hadn’t even considered how Ao’nung felt?
Your siblings could feel your slight sadness when you arrived back, but no one had questioned it much, save for a few, “Feelin’ alright?”s from your father. Moving to Awa’atlu had affected everyone, they had felt the overwhelming ache of homesickness every once in a while, they understood you were feeling down. If only they knew, your once source of happiness was now your source of distress.
Despite that, you weren’t angry with Ao’nung. Not at all. You understood where he was coming from completely. As the future Olo’eyktan, he needs to protect his people. That means protecting them from humans, and your family had brought that threat. If anything, it’s natural for him to be hostile towards you. That didn’t mean it didn’t hurt. But you were resilient.
You just had to prove to him you were more than what was running in your veins.
Today, like the past few days, was filled with training. Ao’nung was paired up with you, again. You felt uneasy at first, not wanting to make him more uncomfortable with you. He gave Tsireya a look, almost begging to switch partners. She only rolled her eyes and smiled when you reached them.
He must’ve told her how he felt about you, or maybe she had heard his harsh words to you last night. Either way, you’re sure she smacked him upside the head for upsetting you. Tsireya took a genuine liking to you, and she may or may not have been doubling her efforts in winning over the Sully family due to her liking of Lo'ak.
Once all together in the shallow water, Ao’nung began to call to the Ilu. Almost immediately, they swam up and circled him. It was mesmerizing, watching him call them so effortlessly, how they swam up to him so fondly.
“These are Ilu. If you want to live here, you have to ride,” he explained. You were excited, you had little trouble claiming your Ikran, surely this is no different.
Ao’nung faced you, pointing, “the demon girl will go first.” Your eyes widened, suddenly intimidated. But, you had to show him you weren’t just some forest girl with five fingers.
You swam up to an Ilu, petting it. It clicked at you, nudging you affectionately. This creature was so gentle, so sweet to you. Your Ikran was nothing but the opposite when you claimed it; squawking loudly, attempting to throw you over the edge of the cliff. You gained some confidence from its gentle demeanor, and climbed on top. Tsireya and Ao’nung swam up beside to keep the Ilu still and allow you to make a bond.
“Make the bond, and hold here,” Tsireya gestured to the handle. You pulled your queue from behind you, bare, pink nerves ready to make a connection. You took a deep breath and made the bond with your Ilu. Suddenly, you felt its being as whole, as a part of you. You felt its breath, its fins, how strong it is, how eager it was to swim with a new driver.
“Breathe from here, remember. Hold your breath when you dive, the Ilu is fast. But it will know when to go back up for air. It feels you, you feel it,” Ao’nung placed his hand on your upper stomach like he had done when training your breathing. You gasped quietly, not expecting such a gentle, forward gesture from him. Especially not after last night’s exchange.
Your golden eyes made contact with his, your brows furrowed in confusion. Hadn’t he just reprimanded you for just merely existing? Now he was touching you so delicately, like you’d break from too much pressure. Had last night really just been a bit? Just a teasing joke? Maybe he didn’t hate you after all?
His mixed signals made you feel fuzzy, your brain suddenly so confused. The Ilu felt it, too, and began to thrash around from the uncertainty you felt at Ao’nung’s touch. He removed his hand from you, much to your disappointment, to calm the Ilu back down to stillness.
You shook the thoughts about him out of your head, you had to focus. “I’m ready, I can do this.”
“Start slow, don’t hurt yourself,” Ao’nung’s tone was firm, but worried. Perhaps he did care for you.
You took another deep breath, and went off into the water.
You started slow, like Ao’nung instructed, getting comfortable with being pulled through the water by the Ilu. Gradually you sped up, gliding through the reef with ease.
The rush of adrenaline that flowed through you only made you more and more confident. The beautiful reef had you hypnotized, you felt so much while being wished around the glowy underwater plants and animals. The swirl of colors dizzied you in only the best way, leaving you in awe.
You reached a hand out to brush against the foliage as you flew past it. It was so soft to the touch. It only reminded you of Ao'nung's.
What he said greatly hurt you, joke or not. The contrast of his words then and now was so confounding to you. And with the thought of him back in your mind, you became tense, now losing your focus. You lost your balance on the Ilu along with your secure grip.
This thrashed you around some, but you could regain your composure. Unfortunately, it was proving difficult.
You underestimated the force of the water. Your grip on the Ilu faltered more with the ever growing speed. You couldn’t keep up, the pressure was too much. The rush of the water was now pulling you back, straining your limbs. Dreadful fear filled you when you realized, inevitably you’d be knocked off and sent into waters you weren’t familiar with at all, with animals and creatures you’d never interacted with.
You had underestimated the difficulty of riding an Ilu, just as you had underestimated Ao’nung’s impact on you. It was all too similar.
At first, you’d been confident and blinded by excitement. Excitement of meeting your seemingly perfect match. Excitement of trying something new. You weren’t careful, not assessing the situation completely before you dived in headfirst.
You didn’t take Ao’nung himself into account, how powerful his actions, his feelings are just as the water’s force is on your body now. Oh, how your impulsivity ricocheted back to you, but ten times stronger. Whiplash from Ao’nung’s mixed signals and the rush of the current you’re trying to push through.
You had to let go, you realized.
You had to let go of the Ilu before you hurt yourself. You had to let go of your delusional idea of yours and Ao’nung’s relationship before it drastically hurts you. Or him. You couldn't bear the thought of hurting him, in any way.
He didn’t feel the same, he never would. Spiraling down this idea would only complicate things more. You needed to let go.
With that, you took your grip off the Ilu, ripped from the back of the creature and sent off into the water.
Your breath had begun to ran out and you were so far down, clouded with thoughts of needing air and needing Ao'nung. Neither would come to you soon enough.
Unbeknownst to you, a pair of azure eyes caught sight of your descending figure before it was too late. He couldn't bear the thought of you being hurt. The thought alone was what was driving him to swim to you faster.
Ao'nung needed you, too.

Ronal held the baby her arms, it was a healthy baby girl with dark hair. The woman who had given birth to the small creature was a human. She was sitting in the small body of water, exhausted, and covered in sweat. The birth had been a difficult one, the once clear water was now contaminated with blood. The other healers were helping the women get cleaned up, as Ronal approached her to hand her the baby, the woman was very weak to lift up her arms. “Please, take care of her...” she said as she felt her eyes heavying. “What do you mean?” Ronal asked the woman, who was in a very weak state. “I won’t make it... please... just please take care of her...” she begged, wanting to hear Ronal first before she passed.
Ronal saw the pain in her face, she is going to die very soon, and her baby will be alone. So Ronal nodded. “I will, now rest” she said comfortingly at the woman who smiled weakly and looked at the baby in the Na’vi’s arms. Then she closed her eyes, having taken her final breath. She passed, peacefully. Ronal then asked the healers to prepare her body for a funeral, its the least she could do.
During the ceremony, Ronal still had you tied with a big clothe on her chest, you were sound asleep. The villagers had set everything up for the funeral, everyone had attended as a form of respect, they may not have known the woman but they attended anyway. The healers who had helped with the birth were the ones that placed the woman’s body down to the yellow glowing ground.
After the funeral Ronal and Tonowari were in their Marui, Tsireya had already been asleep, that was a perfect time for them to talk. Ronal still had you on her chest, for some odd reason she did not want to let you go, she felt as if you needed to stay with her. You were already awake by then and was playing with her top since it had shiny pearls.
“What are we going to do with this child?” Tonowari asked as looked at you, who was distracted. “What can we do? I don’t want to leave her out to die, and we have no Idea where the woman came from if we were to try and send her to her people.” Ronal said towards her mate. Tonowari looked down at the infant, she was smaller than the average metkayina baby. He had no idea what to do with the child.
“Then we shall raise her, make her like the people” Tonowari suggested, Ronal looked at him. “Really? Do you think she’ll be able to be like us?” she asked as she looked down at the baby who was now trying to get her attention. “We have to at least try” he said looking at the small infant, seeing those big eyes of hers. It warmed his heart seeing the little creature in his mate’s arms. Ronal noticed this then got an idea. “Would you like to hold her?” she asked, catching him off guard.
“Hm, yeah why not” he said as Ronal then handed him the infant. He held the small child close to him, he got a good look at You. You’re the most loving creature he had ever set his eyes on, you’re just like his Tsireya. “Have you named her yet?” he asked as Ronal responded. “Not yet, what should we name her?” she asked as Tonowari continued to look down at you. “How about... Y/n?” he said as Ronal smiled, looking down at you. “I like that, Y/n it is.”
Tumblr media
Since then on you were their daughter. At first Ronal was worried that you would not make it in the first week, she new the risk of women babies were born, some would not live long, but thank Eywa you did, she was also worried that you might have to be raised differently due to being different. That wasn’t the case, you were just like every other na’vi baby. You cried, you ate and you slept. But for sure Ronal would make it her mission that you will be like the rest of the Metkayina. Tsireya loves you, she was glad to have a sibling to play with, she didn’t really questioned on why you looked different or were smaller, she was just happy to have you as her little sister.
When you had become two months old, that was when your breathing and swimming lessons began. You had learned to swim, it was impressive on how fast you learned how to swim along with making yourself float. Ronal had been your teacher since the day you had arrive, she wanted you to be strong, she wished for you to be strong so that you were able to fend for yourself when you got older. As for breathing, you were having a hard time but you managed to be able to breath underwater.
Since you couldn’t bond with an Ilu or a Skimswim, so Tonowari would be the one to take you on a ride on his Skimswin. At first Ronal didn’t want you being around the aggressive like creature but surprisingly, the creature seemed to be gentle around you. Tonowari would take you on a ride while you were tied to his chest.
When it you got to the age of three, that was when Tonowari decided to teach you now to use a spear, he leant you his even though you were smaller than the spear it self. Your father really wanted you to be strong like him, you may not grow as big as him but he at least wanted you to learn how to wield a weapon. When your mother found out about this, she nearly died because she thought that you might have got hurt, can you blame her? You were smaller than the average Na’vi, but Tonowari managed to convince her that it was good for you to learn how to wield a weapon.
Tonowari loved how you would do things boys normally did, you’d climb on pal trees, tried to wrestle him, most of the time he would let you win. This was a way to boost your confidence in hand to hand combat. You began to hunt at a young age in the water, your first catch was a huge fish, that normally an older kid or an adult would be able to catch. Tonowari was impressed that you were able to catch a fish that big. Since then you had began to try and a catch a bigger fish then the last.
In all honesty, you were vey attached to Ronal ever since you were born. Even as you grew older, you’d be spotted with your mother, whether it was her attending to her duties or if she was just with the healers, you were always there with her. That’s a reason how you began to learn about healing methods, since she would always heal you when would get hurt, you had followed her example in wanting to heal others.
Tumblr media
When Ao’nung was born, you were confused, you wondered where that baby came from. You thought your mother had just picked up from random baby somewhere and he was going to stay with you. Even a na’vi baby was bigger than you. Ronal explained that he is your younger brother, in which you promise to protect him since he is the baby of the family.
As you got older, you and Ao’nung would fight a lot, he was the one who would start the fight and you’d finish it. When he’d bug you, you’d end up fighting him. You’d often fight about you being the oldest and him being bigger you. You’d hate it when he would take advantage of him being the biggest, he would put stuff in high places knowing you couldn’t reach, he’d also hide the stoll your father made for you. Once Tonowari and Ronal had enough of this, they had planned a punishment. Your parents made both you and Ao’nung be together at all costs, no matter where, you had to be spotted together.
If Ao’nung wanted to go with his friends, you had to come along, if it was you who wanted to go with your friends then he had to go with you. When it came to doing chores, you both had to help one another. One time a boy from the village was interested in getting to know you, but Ao’nung scared him off, this pissed you off and you both had a fight again.
At some point you began to hiss at everyone, well everyone except your parents and Tsireya. One time Ao’nung was messing with you, that day you were not having it, so he continued to mess with you until you snapped. This time you had tackle him and bit him, he tried to get you off him but couldn’t, you had gone feral. Tonowari was the one who had to get you to stop nibbling on your brother. You got lectured by your mother for nearly nibbling your brother to death. You love your brother but sometimes you couldn’t stand it, sometimes you wish you had another sister instead of a brother.
You and Tsireya are best friends, you do everything together, from sharing each others clothes to telling each other everything. You both knew every little detail about each other, from likes to dislikes, you just knew everything. You both would just look at each other and have a silent conversation. You were the one that was very protective of Tsireya, even though she was older and bigger than you, when a boy would look at her for too long, you’d give him the look which would make him look away, out of fear.
When you began to question on why you were different, was when your parents told you the truth about who your mother was. It all made sense on why you were different than the rest. It hurt at first knowing that your mother didn’t conceived you like your siblings, but that now how it had to be. She along with your father raised you as if you were their own flesh and blood, they didn’t have to but they did. To them it didn’t matter if you were a na’vi or not, you will always be their baby.

We traveled for days, only stopping for naps and to let our mounts rest as well. The vast expanse of sea was sickening but we soared through it day and night. The dark blue of the sea Below me looked unforgiving and merciless, ready to swallow us both whole, as the fourth day passed, my legs were getting numb from continuous flying and it looked like eywa was not on our side, a storm brewed clashing against us, our bodies drenched from head to toe as we made our way through the pouring rain, the waves crashed below us, bashing into the tall rocks. Exhaustion tumbling over our mind but we refused to give in, stomach rumbling for more food but our packs have depleted and we needed to save the rest until we find a place to settle down for good.
Hours of flying later, the dark merciless shades of blue of the waters turned light and welcoming, signs of life showed itself as we saw a reef barrier with shores that glowed like molten sun in the light. We swirled around to see a good place to land, someone blew a horn, the vibration from it a recurring current. Seeing a soft patch of sand i signaled neteyam for the landing, our ikrans touched the sand, skidding to a halt, many natives surrounded us, it was irritating to have so many eyes on us but i swallowed it down, jumping down from my y/i/n, neteyam landed beside me, he walked forward a little, putting his arms up in a sign of peace. I went to draw my bow but he stopped me, shaking his head and I nodded back releasing my grip on it.
We both walked forward our hands up and frequently signing "i see you" to them, a swarm of vicious looking animals cut their way through the air towards us, they had riders upon them, the one in front having bright orange and red attire with a lot of tattoos adorning on his face and body, he jumped down from his ride, making his way towards us in long strides and in the moment it hit me, he's the Olo'eyktan, tonowari, i looked at neteyam and he quickly understood, nodding we both signed to him and said " oel ngati kameie, Olo'eyktan'' he signed back, his frame towering over us, the crowd parted as a woman walked forward, i knew instantly she was the tsahik as i saw her headpiece, her walk radiated confidence and i immediately gave my respect, neteyam followed suit, she circled us both, sizing us up, looking for threat but we gave her no reason to perceive us as such "what are you here for, children?" Neteyam answered this one "we seek uthuru, a place to call home" gasps and whispers peppered among the crowd, Ronal squinted her eyes at us " why, at such a young age, do you need uthuru? That to from a whole different tribe" i was getting tired of her questions and she hasn't even asked two of them. "Our own left us to fend for ourselves, now we seek for some semblance of a home to rest" i said, my voice low, i was tired of this, of running away, hiding everything. The tsahik saw through it, heard the exhaustion in my voice, I grabbed my right forearm with the other sighing heavily.
The leaders held a silent conversation, speaking to each other with their eyes, nodding tonowari walked forward and spoke " you will stay with us and learn our ways, starting from taking the first breath like a baby, our people will treat you as our brother and sister, be nice and you will be respected, my son, ao'nung and my daughter, tsireya will guide you through it, learn well " with that he departed, going back into the village, a girl who stood next to the couple came forward, she had a sweet smile on her face as she said "I'm tsireya, come I'll show you around the village" we both nodded, not saying anything we grabbed our stuff which was not much, walking on the bouncy path way, we met the ilu's and I'm not going to lie, those were so cute, tsireya showed us a tent, walking in she turned to face is "this your mauri, just three pods down, it's my mauri, so if you need anything just come in and I'll help you" she smiled softly, putting down the basket and walked after giving information about the learning sessions.
Throwing my bag down I say near the fireplace, my mind was in chaos, thinking of the worst possible outcomes of this decisions but I was brought out of my trance when Neteyam sat beside me, he held my hand in his and I couldn't help but ask " did we take the right decision, nete?" His eyes were conflicted, his thoughts mulled over the question, maybe we did make a mistake, running away like this but then Neteyam answered "maybe no, maybe yes, only time can tell the answer to that, atan" I sighed bringing my knees to my chest, wrapping my arms around them. He put his arm around my shoulders, pulling me close and we sat there for a good while, reminiscing over our lost childhood home.
»»————- ⚜  ————-««
I ran behind Tsireya towards the water, the pathway bouncing under my feet, I was still getting accustomed to the feeling, we both canon balled in the sea, laughing as we resurfaced, Neteyam and Ao'nung were already in the water, waiting for us both of them grumbling in annoyance at our tricks but we waved them off, it's been a week since we got here and it's been nothing but happiness filling our days, we still remembered our old life's, but it was in the past now, Tonowari welcomed us with open arms but Ronal was still distant to us, always giving us short answers with curt replies. Ao'nung wasn't any different always picked on our difference, like our thin tail, slimmer limbs, thin built but I just ignore him mostly and so did Neteyam, Tsireya backed us up though, hitting her brother on the head if she saw him teasing us.
The water was warm around our bodies, sunlight glinting on it, the shimmering light scattering across the place, Ao'nung walked forward, making a noise which I think is calling sound, a herd of ilu swam towards us, making the small clicking and whirring noises in their wake, my heart soared at their sight, they were such beautiful creatures, one of them made its way to me, I couldn't stop the giddy smile on my face as I pet it on its heads, it trilled at the head rubs I gave, Tsireya had to pull me away from the it as she began to give us some information about them "these are the ilu's, here we use them to travel, you can bond with several ilu's as they do not require a single rider" I nodded but my eyes were still on that cute beast "you might be good at the swinging but….owww" Ao'nung started but Tsireya quickly shut him up by a slap on his arms, rotxo laughing behind him.
Neteyam chose to try and ride them first, getting onto one of them, adjusting for better comfort, Ao'nung guided him to connect their queue, making the tsaheylu, the beast surprised at the sensation jumped a little but Ao'nung steadied it "mawey, yetu, mawey, Tam Tam" fixing the harness on the saddle, Neteyam sqiurmed getting in a better position, he leaned down patting the creature "good boy, yeah" but Ao'nung tsked , rolling his eye "it's a girl, skxwang" I laughed, while Neteyam looked at us sheepishly "ohh sorry-" but before he can talk some more Ao'nung started with the instructions "feel her breath, her heart, the strong beats" Neteyam closed his eyes, concentrating on the bond, soon he opened his eyes, nodding at Ao'nung when he was ready "move slow, think 'forward', ride slowly" , adjusting once again he commanded "forward" and the ilu darted ahead at full speed, taking Neteyam directly underwater, we dipped our heads inn, watching underwater as he was thrown of its back by the water current and force, I stood up laughing with Ao'nung and rotxo, Tsireya giggled at his demise.
He swam back, gasping for air as I beat my first against his arm, squealing in delight at his failure "good one bro, keep it up" doubling over myself as another fit of laughter bubbled up my throat, he just rolled his eye " come on, y/n , grow up" I tried to stop myself, pressing my lips together but then I made eye contact with Ao'nung, let's just say me and Ao'nung both ganged up on Neteyam for this one.
»»————- ⚜  ————-««
Weeks passed by in the blink of an eye, Ronal was accepting of us now, Ao'nung tuned down his teasing a bit, we still had our own mauri, it was turning out normal, our new normal.
I sat with Tsireya, weaving and completing my song chord, a bead for each event that turned my life around, starting from a pearl I collected with Tsireya few days ago, weaving it into the leather in the memory of the day we left our clan, the day we finally spoke for ourselves, adding a small conch shell in the memory of finding our home here, one bead for each of the Olo'eyktan's family member, for their love and patience towards our learning skills, especially for tsireya for understanding me when nobody did, time went by with a wink of an eye, the sunset casting beautiful shades of oranges and pinks, clouds dusting the sky with glorious harmony, the bright light filtering through the mauri where me and Reya sat, she was weaving a top with intricate designs, i made a mental note to myself to ask for the pattern, as the eclipse got near we stopped our work, putting away the things, i rebraided my songcord back in my hair, and we made our way towards her pod for dinner.
We do not make our own food after the horrific incident of neteyam trying to roast a fish went wrong in every way possible, so Ronal very calmly scolded our ears off for approximately 6 hours before she ushered us to eat something. Though tonowari was amused at the ways neteyam tried to roast the fish, after that we were strictly forbidden from cooking so we ate at their place everyday.
Sitting down besides teyam, i nudged him to give me space even when there was plenty of room for me to sit down, this was just more fun, he shifted back giving me a pat on my head and smiled at smile, i looked at him one eyebrow raised at what this was about but he just shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly as if it was nothing, now that raised my suspensions, what the hell was going on? And why was I not a part of it?
As we all ate our dinner, ao'nung piped up "y/n, we found a good spot for hunting. Would you like to come with our group tomorrow? We're going there so i thought you'd love it" he smiled at me after that sentence, and my mind screamed at me that he was up to something, don't get me wrong, he was known to prank on us more than the other metkayina kids, so i was bound to be a bit doubtful but right now i had no choice but to say yes as both tonowari and Ronal looked at me intently and i nodded, giving him a smile in return "yeah sure, I'd love too" huh? Let's see how 'loved' this trip will be.

We glided towards the "spot" ao'nung and his friends found, it's almost afternoon now, the sun blazing on our backs while the water did nothing to cool it down, this place was surrounded by high rocks, we have never been here before, nor have been this far from the shore either, i looked at ao'nung confused, he simply signed for me to go forward, and we all did, as we got to a round spot, rocks forming notches for the fishes to hide, perfect spot for hunting indeed, grabbing my crossbow, i dipped into the water, not wanting to cause disturbance, i moved slowly, looking back i saw ao'nung signing for a particular notch that hid a school of fishes, taking my opportunity i saw forward as cautiously as i can, as i got within the reach, i shot my arrow, making a Bullseye , i pulled back the rope attached to the arrow bringing the kill up with me, i whooped celebrating my kill when i turned around to see no one there, my surroundings total empty as they left me, i sighed, i knew it, they pranked me again!! Huffing at myself at how stupid i was to believe him, now i have to find my way back home, calling my ilu, i waited for her to come back, i mentally cusred ao'nung and his friends, Turning around when i felt soft current ripple in the water, thinking it was my ilu but before i could get a good look, something bashed into me, slamming me against the boulder, my head knocking against the rock, i was taken aback, gasping for breath, my back and head aching from the impact, vision blurring.
A scream shattered through me, as i felt a searing bite on my arm, by the tsurak that was attacking me, it twisted it's head tearing my arm open even more and with great difficulty, i turned myself enough to slam my hand into its eye, within seconds it's jaws left my arms as i was thrown back, the salt water burning the wound, the water tinted a deep red, when i actually looked around, my eyes widen in fear as many tsuraks surrounded me, then it hit me, the notches in the rocks, such lively schools of fishes and still no one came here to hunt, this was their nest, i was in the middle of tsuraks' nest, my blood ran cold as i saw the same tsurak that attacked me, made its way towards me, as a lightning strike i came aware that it chose me, it chose me as a rider and wants me to fight it, oh god why did i agree with ao'nung? I'm not ready for the right of passage by any means and i have fight this now? All questions evaporated when it charged towards me, and i dodged it when it rammed into the rock. I had to get this over with, it's either I do this or I die, and I won't go down without a fight.
Ignoring the burn in my arms, I dived deep, leaving a trail of blood behind me, making the tsurak follow me down. As I reached a good distance from the water surface, I turned around seeing the trail of blood I left, the way the tsurak followed it as well, the beast easily swam towards me, and I knew what I had to do.
I waited till it got near enough to pounce on it, grabbing it's queues and quickly pulling myself behind it, i wrapped my legs around its neck, gripping hard as i tried not to slip, but it had other plans just when we got above the water, it twisted, slamming me hard back into the water, the salty water flooding my nose and mouth, in reaction to that i yanked at its queue making it stop for a moment, and i coughed out the excess water, seeing my chance i knew i had to make the tsaheylu if i had to get out of this, quickly as possible i brought my queue in front of me, connecting them, the rush of emotions flowed through me, he was elicited to throw me off him, my grip on him didn't waver as he took of into the air, wings spreading wide, i tried to command him to fly forward but yet again he disobeyed me, dived down without giving me a chance to register, the water current almost shoved me off him but i was adamant to not leave him, in his free ride across the whole nest, i saw we were nearing a boulder, an idea clicked in my mind this was my chance to revenge, he needed to be put in his place, as we got nearer and nearer, i didn't do anything until the last moment, pivoting myself so sharply that he banged onto the rock with full force head on, after that collision he slowed down to a staggering pace, i sighed, finally, i send calming waves down the bond even when my arms felt like it was going to fall off, he calmed down, in the end accepting the bond, now his worry filled my mind, his guilt for the bite overpowering, even my own consciousness was slipping away minute by minute, i fend off to much time, i had to get back home.
Mentally telling him to take me back, but we were stopped by ao'nung and his goons, their leader immediately came up to my side but my mount growled at him, i was angry at him but i need medical attention, so being angry at him can be done later, my exhaustion trickled over me like a soft blanket, i knew i was going to black out, in a hurried voice i spoke "fish lips, i think I'm gonna pass ou-" but before i could even complete my sentence, my eyes rolled to the back of my head and i was pulled into unconsciousness.

~ 3rd person pov ~
Ao'nung panicked, he never wanted this to happen, it was supposed to be a small harmless prank, he didn't knew it was a tsurak nest, now you were severely hurt and a tsurak makto , which was not supposed till the rite of passage, he cringed at the ear full he was bound to get when they return home.
Everyone gathered around you, taking you back, trying to patch up the blood but to no avail, by the time they got back, the ilu you were on was covered in your blood, your tsurak was trailing them, worried for his rider, Ronal was taken aback at the sight of your blood smearing everywhere, tonowari kept his face straight but he was just as distraught as everyone, puting you down on the mat, Ronal immediately got into work, her hands were shaking, she had patched up worst wounds than this on other warriors but in there few months you and your twin warmed up to her heart, it was never a pleasant experience when someone you hold dear, gets injured to a near fatal level.
As the tsahik worked, ao'nung explained what happened to tonowari and your twin, neteyam was scared to death, he blamed ao'nung but more than that he blamed himself, he knew ao'nung was making that plan to prank you, he didn't say anything because he wanted to get back at you for teaming up with him every time, but now he couldn't help but think how childish and stupid it was, he was angry at ao'nung for getting you in this situation, how could he be so reckless, how could he leave you to fend for yourself? He was your twin for eywa's sake! You two came into this world together and if something were to go wrong in the tent- he couldn't even complete he thought, he'd never forgive Himself for it. With every word ao'nung spoke his anger rose. Ao'nung tried his best to explain what happened but no amount of explanation could make this situation any better "father, it was an accident, we didn't know it was a nest, i-" tonowari had enough, to him you and neteyam were becoming a family, and he would not tolerate this kind of behavior, especially not from him own son "enough ao'nung, i expected better from you, you disappoint me" the boy was left speechless, but he accepted it, knowing the fault was his and only his to bare.
The whole clan was worried about you, tsireya almost fainted herself seeing your blood everywhere, Ronal did her best to sew the bite shut, a large scar would permanently form on your arm, neteyam sat outside the tent, not wanting to disturb the tsahik and tsarekam in there work but also didn't want to leave you side, it was way past eclipse when Ronal and tsireya finally got out, neteyam was quick to stand up, worry written over his face, Ronal sighed placing a hand on his shoulder "she is alright but she lost a lot of blood, it will take some time for her to recover'' Her voice was heavy with melancholy. Neteyam didn't hear the next as he stumbled into the tent, falling to his knees by your side, his heart constricted on the sight of your body wrapped in bandages, spots of blood peaking through them, lying so still on the mat. Tears lined his eyes, you were the reason he was living his best life, if it wasn't for you standing up for him, he'd still be stuck listening to his father's orders day and night, heart breaking into a million pieces he prayed to eywa for your recovery, laying by your side for the whole night, not leaving once.

~ 1st person pov ~
I woke up from what felt like 500 years worth of sleep, the sunlight burning my eyes and i moved my hand to block it but it turned out to be a grave mistake as a blinding pain shot through it and i cried out, making me wince in pain, someone was beside me immediately, helping me sit up , the pain in my arm subsiding as it was lowerd back to its place gently, i looked to see neteyam, his smile radiant, the thoughts in my mind calming down at his smile and soon everything what happened in the last hours flashed back to me, while i remembered yesterday's events neteyam notified Ronal and tonowari, as Ronal got into checking my wounds, tonowari sat down in front of me and spoke in a low but firm voice "you fought with a tsurak, all by yourself, you have completed the rite of passage, even if you didn't know, you have proved yourself, you are one of us, you both are a metkayina now." I glanced at neteyam, who looked like he was about to burst from happiness, a smile plastered on his face from ear to ear, even i was shocked at tonowari's statement, we are what now? Even I couldn't help but to smile at that, he called neteyam to sit with me, blessing us both, Ronal was just as happy, it was turning the worst moment of my life into the best one.
Soon a celebration was held for my accomplishment, i knew it was an accident but i did the fighting myself so i deserve it too, tsireya danced with the others, her body gliding like waves with the music ,her top sparkling in the fire light, Ronal and tonowari sat together enjoying the celebration, i sat beside neteyam near the leaders, though i couldn't drink or dance with my arm wrapped tightly, i still bobbed my head to the beat of the songs, my tail swaying on its own, neteyam was in a similar state but his eyes were somewhere else, following his line of sight i saw ao'nung looking back at him, it was like they were holding a silent conversation, i knew ao'nung didn't meant that to happen, also that he didn't knew it was a tsurak nest but i was still angry at him, i nudged neteyam bringing him out of his "conversation", he sighed before he started " you know he didn't do it on purpose" i rolled my eyes at him "why are you defending him? He almost drowned me, i almost died bro, are you his brother or mine?" at that his ears went flat on his forehead, tail being tucked near his leg, eyes strained on the ground "i know, I'm sorry, i shouldn't have said it" now it was my turn to sigh, i put my head down, maybe i should talk to ao'nung, i knew he was sorry, so i placed my good arm around neteyam's shoulder, and said "you know what bro? You're right, I'll give him a chance, just because you want us to make peace" he laughed and nodded, helping me stand up.
I made my way over to ao'nung, he looked nervous at my presence, i mean anyone would be when you accidentally tried to kill someone and that someone is walking straight towards you, i gave him a gentle smile sitting down besides him, i spoke "i know ao'nung, you didn't mean it, maybe next time just check the area where you're gonna prank me in then this won't happen" we both laughed at that but after our laughter died down he looked at me seriously and said with guilt tracing his voice "I'm really sorry for this, i swear on eywa i was going to leave you alone for just few minutes before coming back, so when we left we didn't think this could happen, then finding you almost unconscious, i freaked out, I'm sorry please forgive me " i smiled at the apology, glad he had the decency to do that "it's okay skxwang, i accept your apology and i forgive you, but… you do have make my dinner for a week!" He groaned at that and I laughed at his misery but he agreed nonetheless.
Making my way back towards Ronal and tonowari, i sat down next to them while neteyam went to talk with ao'nung, i smiled at the thought of living here, a place to call home, a place where i knew i would be protected, Ronal placed a hand on my shoulder and i looked at her, her smile was soft as she said "you are family now, we will protect you" i slumped in my seat, staring at the fire, my heart was full to brim with content, a small smile graced my face and hope blazed in my eyes, we are not alone in this, not only do we have a home, we have a family, after months of trying to win their hearts we can finally rest and leave our past back and move on into this new life eywa has so generously blessed is with.

Things Kids At Work Say That Sully Kids Also Would Say (snapchat edition):
For all intents and purposes imagine Jake is me in all of these and every one of them is sent to Norm (except the one about Norm is sent to Max). Ao’nung makes a bonus appearance once. Some are human AU some are more in a canon vibe.

AVATAR MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Jake had to beg Ronal to let you stay with them at the Metkayina clan. He was worried that you were in danger. You were his younger sister, and he was very sure that Quaritch would come looking for you. So he went to great lengths to get them to let you move in with them. To his good luck they agreed.
On the other hand your nephews were so excited to have you with them in their new home. You made the adjustment more comfortable and fun.
It didn't take long for them to introduce you to the Metkayina children. They were so curious, they had heard so many stories about how amazing you are and all that. "Hello…I am" you start to speak, when you feel Rotxo take your hand and greet you. Trying to make you feel comfortable with a human greeting. Lo'ak had taught you several things. "hello my name is rotxo!!!" the boy shouts, you think he is very adorable.
From that moment on, no matter where you went or what you were doing all 6 boys were after you. Watching and asking everything you did, everything you did was new and cool to them. Like riding waves, human style.
"This is called a surfboard" you say, while presenting the new work of art you had created. You got an old wood, and you were working on it to make it perfect for the waves. "And you climb on it?" asks ao'nung, the boy's tail wagging from side to side. While neteyam and lo'ak was already getting on the board.
"Yes, you get on it and let you ride the waves" you make a motion with your hands. You watch as tsireya copies you and imitates your movements. You take the board and walk out into the ocean. The day was perfect for surfing. You watch as all the guys sit on the sand to watch you demonstrate.
You are sitting on the board, moving your hands in the water. You had a beautiful metkayina outfit. You weren't ashamed to wear navi clothes, they looked great on you. You were waiting for the perfect wave, but you look back and see your new admirers looking at you with excitement.
A very big wave is coming and this is your chance. You swim towards it and with ease you can ride the wave. The guys are fascinated, watching how you glide with ease, how you have a perfect balance. And how you get lost in the tunnel and the wave drops.
"Oye…. your aunt is gone" says ao'nung while looking at neteyam. The boy gets up from the ground, trying to see if you are on the surface. Out of nowhere you swim out with your board. You see that all the guys are clapping. "That was awesome…it's my turn" says lo'ak running into the water.
Later that week, after a day of practice. All the kids are sitting around talking, and you walk up to them with something in your hands. "Hello my loves" you say tenderly. " Helloooo" sings tuk, coming up to you, to hug you.
You start handing her some kind of knitting ponchos. You had made one for each of your nephews. Since they were little, but you realized that they had already grown up a lot. They barely fit him and tuk ended up wearing them all.
You give one to kiri, neteyam and lo'ak. And a smaller one to tuk. You notice how the other kids look at you curiously. You laugh a little. "I also made some for my new kids" you say. You give tsireya, ao'nung and rotxo their knitting ponchos. The kids are so excited. They watch as the sullys kids try them on and they do the same.
"They look great!!!" you arrange the garment a bit on rotxo's shoulders. "Can we call you auntie Y/N?" asks tsireya, you adjust her hair a little bit. "Of course!!!" you smile. Saying goodbye to the guys.
"Your aunt is so cool… and pretty" says rotxo while blushing. Everyone looks at him in silence and then laughs all together.

previous part (x)
You know there's many different ways that you can kill the one you love
The slowest way is never loving them enough
Do you really want to know where I was April 29th?
Do I really have to tell you how he brought me back to life?
Neteyam’s face snapped in the direction of your voice, an unreadable expression marring his beautiful features.
“What did you say?”
You were boldened and empowered by the ache running through you, by all the feelings that mingled into a cocktail that looked a lot like bravery, that looked a lot like you were going to finally give in to your biggest desires and wildest dreams.
You moved closer to him, taking slow, purposeful steps, until you circled around him and kneeled in front of him, in between his legs, placing on hand on each knee to help you, and you couldn’t help the way your heart fluttered as you noticed the goosebumps on his skin where you touched him.
You looked at him intently, wanting to show him that you meant it, that you were in this, that there was no doubt in your mind, no wavering in your resolve.
“Neteyam… I want you to fuck me. I’ve needed you, ached for you since the moment on the beach, since you apologised, since you were kind to me and showed me there’s more to life than men who take and take until there’s nothing left. That there’s more to love than what I’ve known all my life. That when it’s right, you’ll know it in your gut, you’ll know it in the way your whole body reacts like it’s been set on fire, or like it’s been set free.
I should have called it off the second I knew I started having feelings for another. I was afraid, afraid of the consequences, afraid of breaking people’s hearts, afraid of broken expectations and unfulfilled bonds, but I am not anymore. I’m not afraid anymore, the only thing I am afraid of is living without knowing this feeling, living without knowing I’ve done everything in my power to give in to you.
You told me one day I’ll beg you to fuck me. So here I am. I am begging you to fuck me. To take me. To show me all the things I know only you can. The things I only want you to.”
Neteyam’s expression turned wild and fervent, and you felt the growl he let out deep within you, deep in your core. His hand went to your jaw, that he brought closer to his face, so close, your eyes were struggling to focus on him, and the tint of green in his yellow eyes. You found yourself tracing each gleaming dot on his face, each stripe that marked his skin like a battle scar, his full lips that were parted, the deep breath that came out through them and into you, and you inhaled deeply, closing your eyes, allowing yourself to drown in the weight of his presence, in the weight of the feelings he brought out of you.
“Fuck, you have no idea what you do to me. You have no idea what I’ll do to you. I told you you will beg me to fuck you, but baby girl, when I do it, I’ll do it until you’ll beg me to stop. Until I’ve made you come so many times, until you’re so drunk on my cock you can’t see straight anymore.”
“But not tonight. I don’t know what happened in the time you went away, but we are doing this the right way this time. I won’t risk losing you again. You can sleep it off, sleep the drink off and the night off, sleep Aonung off, and tomorrow, if you’re ready and you’ll still want me, I’ll be here for you, and I’ll be yours forever.”
You whined as he let your jaw go free and your mind twirled with images of his words come to life, burned in your imagination forever, gnawing at you to make them come true.
“But I want you now. And I know you want me to, I can see it in your eyes. I’m here, I’m begging you, isn’t that what you wanted?”
“That is what I wanted, just when you’re sober and not reeling from Aonung’s mistakes. Come, I’ll take you home.”
Tumblr media
You woke up dazed and confused, needing a long while before realising you were back in your marui, back to the comfort of your sleeping mat and loosely wrapped in thin covers. You slowly rose, quickly regretting it, as the motion made you dizzy and nauseous and want to reconsider every moment that made it so this was your current life. Flashes of last night and all the hurt it brought with it started appearing in front of your eyes, furthering your sullen mood and unhappy state. So much happened, so much that you would give anything to forget.
As the world settled a little around you, you noticed a little trinket on your mat, next to where you lay your head. It was a bracelet, you noted in shock. A beautiful, intricate bracelet, crafted with a technique and materials characteristic of the Omatikaya.
Neteyam…
You immediately removed the bracelet that was already on your arm and swapped it for the one you were holding tightly in your palm, and tried to not think what a perfect allegory this was, how this was the beginning of your new life. The beginning of new love.
Tumblr media
Your body loved the touch of the breeze as it caressed your skin, soft and tender, like a lover. It was necessary, like the air going in and out of your lungs, keeping you alive, allowing you to keep going. You tried your best to relax, tried your best to remove the anger and anguish for one man, need and ache for another, both of which felt like poison coursing through your veins, and tried to replace it with other, less intense emotions, like the relief of knowing, despite the hurt and the pain, that you could finally be free of Aonung, free for the first time in your life to make your own decisions, to live outside of the expectations and the burden placed on you since you were young, free to follow your heart, free to grow and be yourself, and to discover who that is to begin with.
You felt entranced by the beauty of the nature surrounding you, that you grew up with, that you’ve experienced every day of your life and yet somehow never took for granted, never fully got used to it, as you allowed your feet to feel the soft grainy sand beneath them and the water splashing over your ankles and calves as you walked on the beach that felt like your safe space, like your haven in the storm. You thought about Neteyam and his words, about the bracelet he left on your pillow and how it felt against your arm where it now resided and it will continue to for as long as you could help it, how even this gift was a perfect metaphor of your past and present. Aonung’s bracelet was beautiful and opulent, with rare stones and shells, with what he thought you wanted, but in reality, it was harsh and it scratched at your skin every time it was on your body, leaving friction burns and scratches that left you bruised and bloodied if you weren’t careful. When you lost it, you didn’t realise it, you just felt freer and weightless. Neteyam’s bracelet was understated and carefully crafted, with soft leather and round, polished pebbles, and it felt like velvet touching your skin, it felt safe and healing. It felt like the calming nature around you, like the warmth of the sun caressing your skin. It felt like new beginnings.
As your mind wandered over the events of the past few weeks, and those of the past few years, you came to the conclusion that this, this whole mess, is not about Neteyam or Aonung. Not anymore. It might have started that way, it might have been what set everything in motion, but it wasn’t the whole picture. This wasn’t about two men. It was about you and your life, your past and your future, and who you wanted to be moving forward. It was about realising that the shackles that bound you to one destiny were loose and rusted, and with a little force, you could be free of them, free at last to be more than who your chains led you to believe. The dark feelings that possessed you made you aware that there was more to you than what you thought, than what everybody thought. The ache and need you felt for Neteyam showed you you were a woman now, a woman who wanted to learn and explore her sexuality and learn what makes her body tremble, what makes it convulse in pleasure. Kissing him and letting him explore your body allowed you to see you were capable of wrongdoings, you weren’t just a two-dimensional being with only positive and light coming out of you, but you had a darkness in you, you had the capability to be selfish and put your own needs first, something you have never done before. The anger that enveloped you when you heard Aonung cheating on you, the thirst for revenge and vindication, the way you told Neteyam that you wanted him, showed you that you were strong, that despite your and everybody else’s view that you were frail and weak, and not a warrior, there was something in you - a power, strong and unflinching, an infinite untapped potential that you swore you would get to know in time.
You were so deep in your own thoughts, that the tug of your arm that spun you around almost knocked you to the ground, and you had to swallow the vomit that rose in your mouth at the harshness with which you were handled.
“We need to talk.”
As soon as the world stopped spinning around you, you were able to make out Aonung’s body and his face, sullen and tired, and you knew instantly he was battling a mean hangover, much worse than yours. You found yourself smirking at his state, hopeful that he was suffering and revelling in knowing he did.
“I’ve been looking for you for fucking ages.”
“Well, you found me. What do you want?”
Aonung’s eyes went wide at your words. He wasn’t used to you talking in such a way, determined, devoid of tears or quivering lips, of soft words and a trembling voice.
“What do you mean what do I want? You fucked off with another man last night, with the tree hugger of all people, and you’re asking me what I want? I want you to explain to me what he was doing there, and why you chose to leave.”
You were so shocked by the nonsense coming out of his mouth, so flabbergasted that the only thing you could think to do is laugh. A crazy, maniacal laugh that continued until there was no more breath in your lungs.
“You know? I knew you were a selfish, self-involved, self-centered jerk for so long, and yet I was continuously blinded by my own desire to see the best in people, the best in you. I held a flicker of hope that the kid I knew was still there, somewhere deep down inside of your shallow soul, but I see now I was blind. You want to talk? Fine, let’s talk. How long have you been fucking another girl, Aonung?”
You watched as Aonung’s mouth opened and then closed, and did so a few more times, while he was trying to come up with an excuse or an explanation, and you felt so free, so weightless, it was like you were floating. No more guilt, no more angst plaguing you, just a light, soft feeling, like a warm hug or sleeping on a cloud.
“Was yesterday the first night? Was it a drunken mistake? Did causing me pain, almost forcing yourself on me turn you on so much that you just needed to do it desperately, that you couldn’t help yourself?”
Your questions were once again met with nothing, no sounds, not even a twitch of the ear or of a facial muscle, no hint that your words were even registering in his mind.
“Come on, Aonung. You said you wanted to talk, let’s talk. Did an Akula get your tongue?”
“Fine, if you don’t want to talk, how about I talk? We’re over, Aonung. So, so over. You want to know why Neteyam came to get me yesterday? Because he’s a better man than you will ever be. Because even on your best day, you aren’t even a fraction of him on his worst day. Because in a few weeks, he has managed to make me feel things you never have, because in just a few weeks, he showed me there’s more to me than what you led me to believe, more to love than what I grew up thinking. And you know what else? I let him do things to me you could only dream of. I let him touch me in ways you never will, let him pleasure me in ways you couldn’t if you tried. And it was amazing. And I will do it again and again, while you will live your life knowing you blew the best thing that ever happened to you.”
Unsurprisingly, that seemed to wake him up from whatever trance he found himself in. The surprise clear on his face made way for panic, a quick brush of sadness that settled finally on anger, deep-seeded anger, manifested through flared nostrils and shallow breaths.
“What did you say?”
“You heard me. Good luck, Aonung. I hope one day you grow the fuck up, but it won’t be for me to help you through it. Not anymore.”
“You’re such a fucking slut, aren’t you? You act all high and mighty with me, refusing me what’s mine, what was MY right, and you go give it up to some asshole you just met? I guess it’s true what they say, it’s the quiet girls. Always the quiet girls.”
You tried to not let it affect you, his words, his horrible words that somehow manage to pierce through you like knifes, and kept your gaze steady on his face contorting in anger.
“Leave, Aonung. Don’t make this harder than it has to be.”
You turned around to follow you own advice, but found yourself again being yanked back like a rag doll by his much larger hands wrapping around your arms and pulling.
“I’m not fucking done, you sl-“
The bone crunching noise that rang in your ear as Neteyam’s fist made contact with Aonung’s nose was weirdly satisfying, and you watched as the Metkayina man was knocked straight to the ground, blood pouring from his face and dripping down his chest. The impact was so powerful that his blood splattered over your face, painting you in red spilling drops. Whatever form of sympathy you felt for Aonung left your body the moment he called you a slut for doing something he was doing behind your back just a night ago, while not taking any accountability or exhibiting any ounce of remorse. You felt a sick satisfaction, watching him try to gather himself, hand on his nose, forehead scrunched up in pain and confusion.  Neteyam put his body in between you and Aonung, taking a few steps in his direction.
“Leave. Now. If you ever, ever touch her again, if you ever look the wrong way at her again, the next thing I break is both your legs.” His voice was low and unflinching, calm and unperturbed by any emotion. He was scary. So scary, you felt that voice in every fibre of your being, and you assumed Aonung did, too. You watched as he got to his feet slowly, and a little wobbly, turned around and started walking away.
“I would tell your parents it was unfortunate, but it didn’t work out. That you felt like I wasn’t the right person for you and you felt bad stringing me along. That you fell in love with someone else. You choose, but I would hurry. Unless you want me to tell them what happened, but then you might not get to keep your family jewels, and I’m sure the girl you were fucking behind my back last night would be very disappointed about that. Good riddance, Aonung.”
Tumblr media
You couldn’t stop staring at Neteyam, at this man who drove you to the point of madness, who made you want to do things that Eywa herself would cower in shame at, whose back was tensed with each deep breath he took as he watched Aonung leave like a wounded animal, like the coward he was. The adrenaline was coursing through your veins, making you light up with excitement and need, making you pant with the aftershocks of the fight, with animalistic desire at how powerful and forceful, how brave and imposing he was. As Aonung disappeared from sight, and from your mind forever, you watched as he turned to face you, a desperate wild look haunting him. He approached you and you were able to take note of the blood on his face, that adorned him like war paint, and on his knuckles as his hands found their way to your face and hair.
“Are you alright?”
You just nodded, too overcome with his presence and all it invoked in you to be able to speak.
“I’m sorry you had to see that. That you had to go through that.”
You shook your hand and placed a hand on his, smiling softly.
“It’s over. It’s finally over.”
You couldn’t wait any longer, would not wait any longer, and you swiftly closed the gap between you and kissed him. Kissed him the way you have dreamt since the moment you saw him on the beach, kissed him like your life depended on it, like your sanity hung in the shaky balance between his touch and your body, like he was everything. The taste of blood on his lips did nothing to deter you, emboldening you instead, and he moaned in your mouth before deepening the kiss, lifting you in his arms effortlessly until your legs wrapped around him. He only broke the kiss to replace your mouth with your collarbones and chest, and you threw your head back as his touch brought fluttering in your stomach and throbbing in your core, that was calling for him, begging him to fill you.
Neteyam knelt slowly with you still in his arms, handling you like you were no heavier than a child. His strength and physique never failed to amaze you, and right now, neither did the bulge that brushed against you as he guided you onto the ground. You propped yourself up onto your elbows and stared at it, at him, until he smirked and lifted your gaze onto his own by a touch of your cheek.
“Like what you see, princess?”
You gulped and nodded meekly. He took your hand in his and placed your palm on his hard erection, and you couldn’t help the way you started feeling him, tracing its curve and girth, or the soft moan that escaped you at its feel, at how tight the loincloth was stretched around it, at how big he felt, at how empty your brain was at the thought of it slamming into you over and over until you saw white.

He spoke lowly, teasingly, while reaching for your loincloth, that he loosened and removed without any effort.
“Feel that, baby girl? It’s all for you.”
He pushed you on your back by placing a hand on your chest and used a little force to spread your legs, and you were puny in his hands, malleable to his touch, willing to be whatever it was he wanted you to be. He swallowed as he took you in, admiring you while his fingers trailed over your folds, reaching down south until they circled another little puckered hole, eliciting a small gasp from you at the prospect of what was coming.
“All for you. All for this pretty pussy, and your tight little ass, for this fuckable mouth.”
“So, so fuckable, I don’t even know what to start with.” He pushed two fingers in you without any warning and you dropped to the ground and arched your back almost on command, so excited to finally get some release, any release, like you have needed for so long. Soon enough, it became too little, and you found yourself needing more, much much more.
The bucking of your hips was met with a mocking chuckle and words that made you whine in frustration.
“Not yet, baby. Not yet. You’re not ready for my cock yet. We need to get you ready, and you need to be a good girl and get me ready. Come on, on your knees, my love. Gonna fuck this pretty face, first… what do you think? Do you like that idea, pretty girl?”
You moaned at his words, but did what you were told, rising on your knees, noticing dripping going down your leg as you did so, and came face to face with his hips as he rose in all his perplexing, over 9 foot glory. Being so close, so close with the bulge you were just caressing earlier, knowing faintly what was hiding underneath, made you almost vicious, and you found yourself reaching for his loincloth, untying it hurriedly, your urgency making Neteyam scoff lightly, patting the top of your head in a gentle and surprisingly loving motion.
“So eager, my love. Eager to get stuffed with my cock, aren’t you?”
As the loincloth fell to the floor, so did the rest of whatever pathetic inhibitions you had left, taking in his length, that was even bigger than what it felt like under the loincloth, so big in fact, you were genuinely concerned at how it was ever going to fit in your mouth, fit in you. Your wide eyes didn’t go unnoticed by the Omatikayan, who lifted your chin so you could meet his gaze, and whatever expression he was met with made a low growl emerge from his lips, and you felt yourself clench around nothing.
You couldn’t wait any longer without his touch, without feeling him, so you tentatively grabbed his cock in your hand, struggling to make your fingers meet as you wrapped around his base, and you started stroking him up and down, all the while grinding on the ground, trying to get any relief from the enormous pressure building in your core. Primal curiosity took over you as you closed your lips around his tip, dying to feel the taste of the liquid spilling from it and you moaned around his cock as it was better than you could have ever foreseen. The sound and vibration made Neteyam push your head closer to his body, and you gagged slightly as his impressive length made its way down your throat.
“That’s it, baby. Look how well you’re taking my cock. You’re doing so well, princess.”
Without any warning, he started a slow pace in and out of your mouth, holding your head in place with his hands, and fuck, you loved how he was using you as his own personal sex doll. It was so obscene, so filthy, so so good. He felt so good in your mouth, his sweet taste flooding your every sense, welcoming him further in, until your nose was touching his hip bone and his balls were slapping against your chin with every thrust. You wrapped your hands around his thighs, propping yourself to get a better angle, to be able to suck him off the way you wanted, the way you knew he wanted.
“Look how you’re dry humping the ground with my cock so deep in your mouth. You want to be fucked, don’t you, baby? Such a slut for my cock, aren’t you?”
His unrelenting pace made tears appear in the corner of your eyes, spilling down your cheek, mixing with the saliva pooled around your mouth, that dripped all over his balls.
“You’ve never looked prettier than when you’re getting your face fucked. So pretty, princess. Those fucking eyes looking up at me, all innocent, so wild, so - fuck, you will be the death of me.”
“Gonna let me come in this pretty mouth, huh? Want to suck me dry, baby girl?”
You mewled approvingly around his cock, hallowing your cheeks and pushing your tongue against him to drive him to his release sooner, wanting, needing to feel him, to own him, a piece of him, like he owned you, like he would - forever.
“Ohh, fuuck - fuck, princess, just like that. It’s like you were born to suck my cock. Doing so well for me, baby.”
Hot spurts of thick liquid came shooting down your throat and the deep guttural groans he released as the orgasm washed over him was almost enough to bring you to your own - you’ve never heard something more erotic, something more salacious, something better, in your life.
“Good girl.” He slowly removed himself from you and pushed you back into the ground, towering over you, his still fully hard length slapping over your inner thigh haphazardly. “Do you feel what you do to me? Feel how hard I still am for you? I’ll never get enough of this body, princess. You will be dripping in my cum by the time I’m done, this is what being next you does to me.”
His lips crashed against yours aggressively, and his tongue pushed past your teeth into your mouth, exploring you, tasting himself on your tongue. His cock twitched and brushed your dripping folds and you whimpered in his mouth. He smirked at the sound, and positioned himself alongside your core, started slowly grinding his length on you, teasing you, bringing new tears to your eyes and unintelligible sounds to his ears, that revelled in it, that thrived off of how much of a pitiful, writhing mess you were under him.
“Please, Neteyam. Please, fuck, f-“
“You’re still not ready for me, princess.”
“I-I’m ready, please, I’m so fucking ready!”
He tutted in disapproval and removed his body from yours, leaving you empty and aching. You tried closing your legs together, but that too was promptly interrupted by his hands, keeping them far apart. He started a torturous ritual of kissing and licking every part of your body he had access to, masterfully avoiding the only places you wanted, needed to be touched. He started with your collarbones, and down your sternum, alongside your abdomen, and hip bone, your thighs, and inner thighs, and you were crying, the pleasure so great, and yet so incomplete it was hurting you, it was turning into pain.
“Neteyam, I - “
“Hush, baby. Let me take care of you. Let me show you why it couldn’t have been anyone else but me.”
With that, he placed a tender, barely there kiss on your bare pussy, then another one, and another one. His mouth closed around your clit, sucking on it softly, alternating between it and kitten licks, and the rough texture of his tongue made you see stars, made you convulse around his mouth. His tongue moved languidly, drawing numbers on your swollen pussy, pushing into you and lapping at the liquid falling down his chin. You tasted like heaven to him, like a ripened summer fruit, like a flower in spring, blossoming around him, inundating his smell, coating his tongue in its aroma. He loved seeing you like this, all of this, falling apart at the seams in pleasure, tears prodding at your eyes, lips parted and cheeks flushed, chest heaving up and down, hands in his hair, pushing his tongue deeper in your sopping cunt. He loved all of it.
Two slender, long fingers made their way inside of you, feeling you, curling them to massage the perfect spot, the spot he found last time, the spot he knew would make you come undone, and he couldn’t help the arrogance in his tone as he talked.
“Come for me, princess. Let me hear how good I make you feel.”
Your orgasm flushed over you, the most intense feeling you have ever felt, and you now understood why he edged you for so long, and even in your dazed mind, you were grateful that he seemed to know your body better than you knew it yourself.
He continued licking at your entrance, not wasting a drop of your cum, not when it was better than any liquor, better than any drink he’s ever been fortunate enough to taste. When he finished, he got back on top of you until you were face to face, and you noticed weakly the glistening on his chin as your juices coated it, and the smirk he had on those beautiful lips that was unrelenting. He knew he was amazing, he knew what he was doing to you.
“See, baby? I know what you need. I’m what you need. Open your mouth.” You did so, no questions asked, and watched as he spit in your mouth, licking your lips in order not to miss anything, humming to yourself as the taste of your own cum registered on your tongue.
“Feel how good you taste. So fucking good, princess.”
“I think you’ve suffered enough. I think it’s time you get what you deserve for being such a good girl. The best girl.”
You felt his arm on your abdomen as he reached down and aligned himself with your folds, his bulbous tip rubbing against your warm, aching entrance. Slowly, gently, he starts sinking into you, allowing you to feel each inch, allowing you to take in the delicious stretch, and the feeling of you wrapping around him brought shivers down his spine. The mewls escaping your lips fuelled his hunger for your body, fuelled his need to push you until you were so overstimulated, you were blacking out with him still deep inside your cunt.
“Eyes on me, baby girl. Look at how deep in you I am, I want you to watch me fuck you.” Neteyam’s cock twitched inside of you at your incredulous expression, at your wide eyes and fucked out face as your stomach deformed slightly, a bulge appearing every time he pushed deep into your cervix. It drives him to the point of insanity, that look, and he starts a maddening pace, quick and rough, rutting into you deeply, watching as your tits bounce with every thrust.
Your mind is blank of any thoughts and full of immeasurable pleasure, unholy sounds escaping your lips like a prayer, like a litany to keep going, to not stop, because fuck, this is the best feeling of your life, being so owned, so free, so helpless, so in control of your own desires, so full, full to the brim with pleasure, with love, with his cock. You start to see stars, as the now familiar feeling draws closer, and your entire body starts shaking in preparation for the wave you knew was about to hit you any second. His thrusts are unrelenting, hitting your cervix mercilessly as your walls tighten around him, wanting to keep him, to never let him go.
“That’s it, baby. You’re clenching my cock so tightly, want to come all over me, princess? Want to cover my dick with that sweet cum?”
“Yes! Fuck, yes! Yes yes yes!”
Your eyes roll in the back of your head as the orgasm drowns you in overwhelming, toe-curling sensations, and you start doubting you will ever see or hear properly ever again, as the world is enveloped in a white, over-exposed glow and your ears lose their ability to discern the waves and the birds flying above you.
“We’re not done, my love.” You barely registered his manoeuvring your now limp body, turning you upside down, so that your chest was flush against the ground as his hands lifted your ass up, his cock once more prodding at your entrance, and you whine, crying as you are barely able to understand what is going on, much less able to appreciate the way he’s spreading your ass cheeks, massaging them slowly, purposefully, while he sinks back into your wet, sensitive, throbbing cunt.
“Neteyam, I can’t anymore… ’s too much.”
“You can, baby. One more for me, come on. I promised you I’d fuck you til you can’t see straight anymore, and I don’t think we’re there yet.”
“You say you can’t, but look how good this pussy’s taking me, look how it moulds around my cock, how you’re squeezing me. You’re so good for me, princess. I can’t believe I get to do this, can’t believe you’re mine.”
A slap on your ass makes you yelp in pain, waking you up like from a daydream.
“I need to hear you say it, my love.”
“’m yours, Neteyam. Yours.”
“That’s right, you’re mine. And I’m yours. You own me.”
You can’t help the way you instinctively push back on Neteyam, can’t help the way, even in this fucked-out state, you’re still searching for more, you still need him deeper, need him to fuck you dumb, fuck you until you’re passed out on the sand. You match his animalistic thrusts the best you can, moaning loudly, wildly, as each of them takes the breath out of your lungs, as each of them fills you up to the brim, as each of them takes you closer to that third release.
“M-more. I need more.”
“You filthy girl. Such a slut for me, aren’t you? My little slut, drunk on my cock.”
You gasp as his thumb traces your asshole, then slowly removes it and brings his hand to your face, his other hand caressing your lower back.
“Open your mouth, pretty girl.” You did as you were told, and he pushed two fingers inside your mouth and down you throat, and you sucked on them, allowing your tongue to trace in between them, coating them with your saliva.
“Good girl.”
He moved his hand back to your ass again, and slowly pushes one finger in, ignoring the mewling sounds spilling past your lips. He started moving his finger in and out of you slowly, adding the other, all the while rutting into you like a rabid animal in heat, pushing you forward with each thrust, holding you tightly by your hips, leaving imprints on your sensitive skin that you knew would be bruised when this was all over. You loved it.
The feeling of his cock burrowing deep inside your core and his fingers moving in an out of your ass slowly was too much, and you were bracing for the snapping of the coil that has been tightening inside of you, knowing that when it snapped, so will you, and your last remaining consciousness.
“You gonna let me cum in this pussy? Want me to fill you up real nice, paint those pretty pink walls white?”
You tried to answer, but only ugly whimpers came out, and by the sound of his melodic laugh, you knew he took that as a yes.
“Come on, princess. Be a good girl and milk my cock dry.”
You didn’t need to be told twice, as the orgasm took everything out of you, and you would take everything out of him, as a result. He was right. When he was done, you were so drunk on his cock, you really couldn’t see anymore. And as he lowered his body on yours, resting his chest on your back and peppering small, gentle kisses on the back of your neck, whispering sweet nothings and telling you how good you did, you knew you were excited not be able to see straight every day, for the rest of your life.

SOMEBODY ELSE !
— chapter 4. friday night.
! texts are from neteyam's pov
series masterlist. | previous / next

at the game ! written portion below. —
you, lo'ak, kiri, and neteyam all reached the game right on time, shuffling your way to your spots on the bleachers. the stands were way more packed than you expected them to be, but to your luck, some of neteyam's teammates had saved the four of you seats.
"the game hasn't even started and i'm already bored." kiri plainly stated, making you giggle and her brothers shoot a glare her way. she was never one for sports, and even though you didn't play, you enjoyed watching lo'ak and neteyam play, and you as well enjoyed watching baseball every now and then.
"cmon, i'm sure it won't be that bad." you assured her. you mostly just wanted her to stick around in fear that the boys would get swept away by their friends.
"i'm sure it will be," kiri bit back and rolling her eyes at the noisy crowd at the announcement of the first batters name. "a couple of my friends are gonna get some boba and they invited me, you wanna come with? if not i'll make sure neteyam sticks with you the whole time." your friend offered, knowing you wouldn't want to be left alone in a place like this.
you debated going with her, but decided against it. "no, don't worry about me. go have fun! i'll stick with the guys."
you waved her off and focused your attention back to her brothers, confused when you only saw the older sully. "where did lo'ak go?"
"he saw tsireya," neteyam laughed, scooting to sit closer to you. "you warm?"
"mhm." you nodded, snuggling into his side when his arm wrapped around you for warmth. you weren't really all that warm, you dressed for the aesthetic rather than the weather and were quickly regretting it.
opening his mouth to speak, neteyam was quickly cut off at the announcement of ao'nungs name and the screeching of girls that soon followed after. you two shared an incredulous look before bursting into laughters and cheering the boy on.
"let's go ao'nung!"
"don't suck!!"
at your words ao'nungs eyes met yours and you froze, facepalming when he sent a wink your way. the girls behind you somehow saw it (do they have 20/20 vision or something?) and their screeches somehow got even louder, causing you and neteyam to cringe.
you felt a hot breath creep up behind your ear, heart racing when you realized how close he was to you, "i'm seriously gonna lose my hearing after tonight."
you chuckled awkwardly, training your eyes on ao'nungs at bat. "makes two of us." you coughed, trying to cover up the way your voice cracked at the end of the sentence.
the intimate conversation was interrupted by the loud noise of a bat, and you both looked up to see the white ball flying through the air. it sailed well over the outfielders head and over the fence, causing the crowd to roar.
"attaboy ao'nung!" neteyam shouted to his friend, the two of you clapping and screaming for him, your yells blending in with the rest of the crowd.
as ao'nung reached home plate he pointed over to your direction, causing the girls behind you to scream (again) and you roll your eyes, neteyam standing beside you, suddenly looking very unimpressed.
the game eventually came to an end after extra innings, and you exited the bleachers, holding onto neteyam to not get lost in the mix of people. "wanna wait for ao'nung?" he yelled over the noise and you only nodded in response, not bothering to speak over everyone else.
you two waited there for not long until neteyam's teammates tried pulling him away, and he looked over at you worriedly. "hey i'll be back in like five- ten minutes tops. stay here, alright?"
"o-okay." you watched as he disappeared from your sight, standing awkwardly in the clump of people. slowly but surely the stadium was starting to empty out, and neteyam still hadn't come back.
you went to call kiri and your phone shut off, showing the low battery icon, the battery flashing up at your face as if it was mocking you.
you heart sunk, and whoever was praying on your downfall got their wishes, as it had begun to sprinkle, which quickly fell harder, causing you to get soaked.
"just kill me now." you mumbled to yourself, debating if you should just sit in the rain and accept your fate when a familiar voice called your name.
"y/n!" he ran up to you, quickly taking off his baseball parka and wrapping it around your smaller figure. "why are you just standing here in the rain? you're going to get sick."
"i wasn't standing here on purpose," you spat, your shaky tone taking him by surprise. "i was with neteyam, and he told me to wait here for a little bit and he still hasn't come back and my phone is dead and i really don't wanna pay for an uber because it's expensive as fuck-"
"woah, woah, sweetheart, calm down," ao'nung cooed, gently grasping your arms. "look, my dorms right around the corner, we can just walk there. and then we'll get you into some dry clothes, okay?"
"don't you have to get to a party? i'm pretty sure i heard about one being thrown for the team and i don't wanna intrude-"
"you're not intruding. and it's fine, i don't really wanna go to that party anyways. plus, i'm not just gonna leave you here in the rain," ao'nung scoffed, slightly offended that you think he would just leave you here on your own. "please, sweetheart? i don't want you out here alone."
you bit the inside of your cheek, figuring you didn't have that many options. "fine."

FUN FACTS !
— neteyam played baseball when he was younger, and it's actually one of y/n's favorite sports
— ao'nung didn't see y/n before the game started and thought she wasn't coming, so he got all giddy when he heard her voice
— lo'ak ended up getting tsireya's number by the end of the night

Series Masterlist

Kiri had woken shortly after, crying, but was otherwise unharmed and showing no signs what happened had affected her. They gave her a day to recover in their home while the rest of the Sullys went about their day normally, sending Norm and Max away with heartfelt goodbyes and returning to the sea life they had started to grow accustomed to.
Lo'ak and Y/n were put in charge of plucking barnacles off the bottom of canoes for the afternoon, and the young boy takes the time to avoid silence and boredom, "So what are you doing with Ao'nung?"
Y/n doesn't react or even bother looking up from her handiwork, "What do you mean?"
"I mean when did you guys become friends?"
She looked up then, puzzled as she stared at her younger brother, "I'm confused. Weren't we trying to all be friends?"
Lo'ak paused from working for a moment, shrugging, "Well, we were trying to just earn their respect and get along, but yeah, I guess we did come out as friends."
"I guess we're full of surprises."
"But the other night, you guys were being... weird."
Y/n huffed with mirth, "Look who's talking."
"Shut up." He snarled, "Have you guys been hanging out a lot?"
"Not really. Just a few times lately."
"Is that where you were the other night? This... Arch?"
"Yeah. Ao'nung said he had something to show me."
Lo'ak's expression goes blank, "Y/n. Dad taught us to literally never follow someone just because they said they have something to show you. He called it 'stranger danger' or something like that."
She tossed a barnacle at him, "Is this coming from the boy who willingly followed Ao'nung and his friends beyond the reef?"
"... Okay. Fine. You win."
"Besides, Ao'nung didn't phrase it like that. It was a lot less creepy."
"So why didn't he invite the rest of us to the Arch?"
"You guys had already gone for the day so he just took me." Y/n then reached over to mess with Lo'ak's hair, earning an annoyed hiss and she smiles, "Don't look too closely at it, alright? We're friends now."

A peaceful morning where the Sullys find themselves rolling up their nivi after a night's rest is interrupted by a horn, followed by whoops and hollers of celebration coming from outside. Confused and on edge, Jake and the kids emerge from the marui, looking around as the Metkayina jump around and dive into the water, making the newcomers curious as to what was going on.
Their answer came in the form of Tsireya, astride an ilu as she waves down her people from the water below their homes, "The tulkun have returned! Everybody! Our brothers and sisters have returned!"
Y/n looked up toward the atoll walls protecting the village from less docile nature. Emerging from the tunnels and pathways were rolling waves indicating something large underneath the water. Spurts of seaspray spring out like geysers from beneath the ocean's surface. It was a large pod of whale-like creatures, massive and slow. Their descent onto the village was graceful and one that brought much joy to the Metkayina as they couldn't get in the water fast enough.
The Sully kids couldn't wait either, jumping from the walkway around their home and into the water below. They scatter, exploring the new creatures one way or another. Tsireya had grabbed Lo'ak when she spotted him and pulled him onto her ilu, swimming away to introduce him to her Spirit Sister. Jake summoned his tsurak and both he and Neytiri take off to observe the sacred animals themselves. Rotxo had come around and pulled Kiri and Tuk away too, leaving the twins to their own devices. Ao'nung was not far behind his friend, inviting Neteyam and Y/n to come along with him to find his own Spirit Brother. All three teenagers grab an ilu and take off, making a game of chase with Ao'nung in the lead.
They weave through and around the large bodies of tulkun, dodging other ilu and Na'vi while keeping close to Ao'nung the entire time. He leads them through the chaos expertly, the three teenagers swimming quickly around a particular tulkun. Kiri, Tuk, and Rotxo were hanging onto the bull's fin and gliding peacefully through the water, the tulkun likely the reef boy's Spirit Brother. Neteyam and Y/n are only able to catch a glimpse of this as they swim by, keeping close to Ao'nung's tail until he slows down in front of a particular bull. This tulkun didn't have tattoos yet, much like Ao'nung as he signed to the twins, "My Spirit Brother."
Neteyam drifts close to the creature's eye, signing, "Greetings, mighty tulkun."
"I See you, Forest Brother." The tulkun sang as his form of speaking, and luckily, having had enough lessons, Neteyam and Y/n were able to grasp the old language.
Y/n ditched her ilu and swam up next, signing effortlessly, "I See you, Great Spirit Brother of Ao'nung."
"Hello, Forest Sister. I See you."
Ao'nung's hand gestures were too fast, and the twins were unable to read them but they had no need. The signing was not for them as Ao'nung was trying to relay a season's worth of events to his Spirit Brother, more excited than either Omatikaya have ever seen him. Ao'nung was smiling softly, and brightly as he tried to tell a story only to stumble over his own way of telling it. The tulkun in front of him chimed in as his way of laughing, urging the Na'vi boy to slow down. Y/n managed to pick up some of the gestures after Ao'nung slowed, not missing the words 'Sky People', 'Forest People', and 'new friends'.
Neteyam took a break to swim up and get some air, but Y/n managed to stay underwater a little longer. She didn't want to miss a second of this adorable interaction, and somehow found herself roped in it when the tulkun turned its eye to her.
"Ao'nung tells me that you are a mighty warrior, Y/n te Suli Neytiri'ite."
"He's being nice in your presence," Y/n signed back with a grin, "I have seen war but not been a part of it. I am too young. I am a hunter at best."
Neteyam, still treading water at the surface, takes a deep breath and simply dunks his face underwater, looking back down to locate Y/n and Ao'nung. He found them below, right where he had left them with the bull tulkun. Y/n was signing to the creature, keeping herself swimming next to his eye while Ao'nung floated off to the side, watching them. Neteyam didn't miss the way Ao'nung was staring at her, yet again, when she was not looking. The reef boy's face was calm, his lips relaxing into a soft, carefree smile, never taking his eyes off the Na'vi girl.
That evening was full of celebration, music and dancing a central part of it. Bonfires lined up the beach where the village people could still be close to their ocean brothers and sisters. Late night dives through bioluminescent waves, sending scattered stars up to the sky whenever a splash was made or a tulkun jumped through the air, cascading back down into the water.
Ao'nung kept Neteyam and Y/n with him most of the evening, adamantly talking about his Spirit Brother and the stories exchanged between them. At one point, the three of them were sitting on the edge of a rock fixture, their toes in the water below as they watched the tulkun dancing around in the distance. Neteyam rolled his eyes lightheartedly at a certain part of Ao'nung's story where his mischief had got the best of him. The Omatikaya boy took a moment to glance at his sister, then looked away-- only to double-check when he saw something that intrigued him.
Y/n was watching Ao'nung with a tender expression, her smile sweet and fond as her eyes locked onto every hand gesture and every laugh Ao'nung made, who was clearly unaware of her stares throughout his story-telling. She laughed and nodded whenever she was supposed to in between tales, urging the boy on when he knew he had an avid listening audience. Neteyam smiled, too, though he was sure it wasn't for the same reasons his sister was smiling.
~~~~~~~~~
After that fateful day, Ao'nung invited Neteyam and Y/n to everything. They spent whole afternoons together, sometimes sitting around on the rocks, soaking up the sun while they exchanged stories. After hearing all of Ao'nung's tales between him and his Spirit Brother, either one or both twins would tell him stories from the forest growing up. They told him everything, from their childhood to recent events before they had left their home. Ao'nung was actually a good listener if one sat him down to do so. He nodded in acknowledgment and asked questions between appropriate breaks in the stories. Neteyam could tell how much Y/n appreciated this side of Ao'nung, the girl perking up and gladly answering whatever questions he had. At the end of the day, Neteyam couldn't recall if he ever answered any of Ao'nung's questions himself, but he didn't have the heart to care.
The three were also fond of hunting together and sometimes brought Rotxo and Lo'ak along, this time within the reef and with higher spirits. Some days they would mess around too much and wouldn't catch anything, other times they used their newfound friendship and teamwork to coordinate and bring home enough fish to feed all their families combined.
Ao'nung and Y/n decide to bring all the kids to Sänrr Rong. Tuk was the more ecstatic out of all of them, but everyone was delighted by this new place they could use as a hideout away from their parents. This time, they got a chance to cliff dive from the very top of the arch. The reef kids showed them the path up but were shocked to watch the Sully kids effortlessly climb up the rock as if they were born to do so. Even Tuk showed zero signs of exhaustion as she took a stable vine hand and scurried up it like a monkey. The Omatikaya children were clearly faster and more agile climbers than the Metkayina and therefore made it to the top before the locals even had a chance.
"We'll throw you down a vine so you can catch up," Y/n jeers as she pointedly climbed over Ao'nung.
The reef boy hissed, though it appeared to be playful as he makes a point to tug her tail as she passed him. Y/n hissed back and made sure to gently shove his big forehead with her toes as she climbed before leaping out of reach. They all eventually make it to the top of the cliff, hair whipping wildly in the unforgivable winds, then the reef kids stood over the edge, looking down at the ocean water below.
"Okay! Everyone ready?" Tsireya beamed with excitement.
"For what?" Lo'ak questioned.
"SPÄ!" Rotxo hoots to the clouds as he jumps off the ledge, straightening his legs and stiffening his posture as he falls-- falls-- falls--
SPLASH.
"Who's next?" Ao'nung grinned.
Lo'ak was closest to the edge, peering over and even squinting when he couldn't spot Rotxo all the way down there, wadding in the sea, "Has anyone died doing this?"
The reef boy laughed, "If you wanna be the first, then don't stiffen your form as Rotxo did. Flail about like a screaming baby."
"Me next!" Tuk squealed.
"NO!" All four of her siblings, including Tsireya, shout in different ranges of emotion, such as fear, amusement, and seriousness.
The little girl stomps her foot, pouting as she crossed her arms, "Then why am I even here?"
"To keep me company," Y/n cut in, tugging her baby sister's arm until the shorter girl is pressed into her side. Y/n holds her tight while carefully watching the cliff, being sure to stay close to the middle and away from all edges.
"Aw, Forest Girl, you are scared," Ao'nung laughs, clapping his hands together once in amusement, "I thought you liked to fly?"
She glares at him, sticking her nose up in the direction of the cliff's edge, "That's not flying. It's falling."
Needless to say, Y/n and Tuk didn't do any cliff diving and left that to their other siblings. Kiri went first after Tsireya offered to go with her. Holding hands, the girls jump, screaming and laughing with both delight and horror. Neteyam paced along the edge of the cliff until he watched Kiri's head rise from the water, then relaxed. Once Ao'nung dared the Sully boys to race to the bottom, they were suddenly all for it, jumping off at the same time. Ao'nung took his time and teetered over the edge, grinning when he watched how nervous Y/n shuffled, keeping Tuk close to her side. The future olo'eyktan pretended to lose his balance, earning a laugh from Little Tuk and a scowl from Y/n before Ao'nung also jumped, hitting the water with practiced ease and a laugh still bubbling in his throat.
They climbed up and jumped back down several times, each time trying to persuade Y/n to jump. She put her foot down every time, even when her twin Neteyam offered to either go with her or stay with Tuk. Still, Y/n would not give into the peer pressure and Tuk was miserable by the time they returned home, squawking to her parents while stating that no one would let her cliff dive. Jake and Neytiri exchanged looks and appeared grateful when they nod to their older children with approval.
~~~~~~~~~
The Sully kids' lessons continue as usual, the older ones now granted permission to hunt in groups outside the reef if they pleased. Once they were fluent in signing, they learned to strengthen their knowledge in communicating with the tulkun for the next time. Their knowledge was tested when Tsireya, Ao'nung, and Rotxo refused to talk to them unless they used and perfected the language through signing. When Jake and Neytiri call their children home every night, they often find them sitting silently among each other, only using hand motions to communicate.
Many times, the group of friends return to the Glow Tunnel, to have fun or to enjoy the silence. Each time they all gathered at the center of the village, ready to go back to the Arch, everyone was so eager. All except one particular day, when Lo'ak was nowhere to be found once it was time to go. His absence did not go unnoticed. While Kiri decided to bring Tuk home, the others volunteered to go look for him, and hopefully, he wasn't in trouble like last time. With their newfound hunting party privileges, they go swimming beyond the reef in search of the Omatikaya boy.
They stumble upon Lo'ak by chance, and he wasn't alone. Swimming around him was an impressive tulkun, the left side of the bull scarred and missing a fin. Payakan. Neteyam and Y/n look at each other, worried, while the reef children watch curiously. Payakan and Lo'ak swam around each other like dancers, graceful and practiced. Then, the tulkun turned, fully facing Lo'ak, and opened his mouth, jaw unhinging to reveal the dark cave within. Lo'ak willingly swam in, and Payakan closed his mouth behind him. The twins went to scurry out of hiding as they watched this happen, but both Tsireya and Ao'nung stop them while Rotxo looked on, amazed.
Tsireya went on to further explain that Payakan had chosen Lo'ak to form tsaheylu, and while she appeared proud and excited at the idea, Ao'nung and Rotxo exchanged uncertain glances. Y/n had noticed this exchange, reaching out and grabbing Ao'nung's shoulder, forcing him to look back at her. When the reef boy met her curious gaze, she made movements in the water with her hands, "What is wrong?"
Ao'nung shakes his head and signs back, "Sa'sem will not be pleased."
They definitely were not. Once Lo'ak returned home with the other teenagers, word spread fast and reached Tonowari's ears. Together, he and Ronal round up the teens and brought them to their marui to have a stern lecture, berating the Metkayina children for allowing Lo'ak to bond with the tulkun outcast. It didn't go well as Lo'ak was adamant about Payakan being misunderstood and how he wasn't a killer, even by the Tulkun Way. Jake Sully refused to let his son explain and took him away to straighten him out, but the damage had already been done. Neytiri gathered the twins and followed the father and troubled son home.
They hadn't gone to the communal meal that night, instead, they ate together at home, as a family. Jake was certain that the Metkayina would only receive Lo'ak coldly should they turn up there now, so he suggested that they wait until things cooled down before returning to the village dinners. The Sullys' absence was missed that night, mostly by the children who had slowly become their friends.
Y/n was distressed when her family stayed close to their home the next morning, her father ordering the children to stay near and don't go further beyond the walkways of the village. It felt like a prison sentence to be stuck in one place when it was such a beautiful day out. Neytiri promised her children that they can move on with their lives tomorrow once Jake had calmed down and she spoke to him, but for now, "Listen to your father."
"I see that if one sibling gets punished, we all get punished now," Y/n snarled to Neteyam when she found a moment alone with her twin. Neytiri took Jake hunting with her so that they may talk, while the twins were ordered to look after their younger siblings for the night. Lo'ak and the girls went to sleep not long after their parents had gone, but the oldest son and daughter remained wide awake, talking quietly to one another just outside the marui.
Neteyam exhaled air through his nose, squinting at the dark ink of water in the distance, absently swinging one leg off the side of the walkway, "You don't mean that."
"No?"
"You're just saying that because you've been stuck here with all of us today, unable to go anywhere."
He turned and clocked the snarl on her nearly identical face, her eyebrow hairs furrowing together while she looked away, rocking herself by her heels, "I hate it."
Neteyam smiled fondly, "I know you do. You always hated small spaces. I can see why you like this place better than home."
A pregnant pause hangs in the air over the twins, the only sounds around them being the water and the village, still stirring with life as things begin to settle down. Y/n doesn't look back at Neteyam, sitting on his words for a moment until she slowly turns back, expression blank and immovable, "I don't like this place better than home. I miss home."
"Of course you do. Doesn't change the fact that you're far more free here than you were back there. You've adjusted well here, even if Dad doesn't see it," Neteyam leans over and pats his sister's knee, "He doesn't see how fast you caught onto the Metkayina ways, he just sees all the times we screwed up."
Her ears flatten as she glares at him through her eyelids, unimpressed, "You mean how Lo'ak screwed up."
"We, Y/n. We."
She rolls her sharp, yellow eyes, "If anything, Dad should be proud of him. Bonding with a tulkun is a young Metkayina's first step to their Iknimaya."
"And only you would know that because you've gotten so accustomed here."
She winced, batting his hand from her knee, "You can't talk like this when one day we're just gonna be heading home again. Stop it now. Talk less about how much we like this place and it might hurt less when we eventually leave."
"Do you want to leave?" He cocks his head, eyes scanning her face for an answer.
"... I want to see the forest again."
"That's not what I asked."
"... Do you?"
"Yes."
Y/n's eyes squint, confused, "Why?"
"I have nothing here."
"You have us. You have our friends."
"Yes, but that's all," Neteyam looks around and Y/n follows his gaze, "You have the ocean, the plant life, the sea life. The ilu, the Sänrr Rong-- everything. You love everything about this place. I only love the people. Don't get me wrong. It's a beautiful paradise and I loved experiencing every part of it... but I want to go home. I felt more at peace there."
"At peace?" The twin girl scowled, "We were at war, 'Teyam."
"Yes." She doesn't miss the way his eyes darken a shade, expression hardening into stone as he glares back out to the sea, "But war is what I was trained for."
The silence is chilling this time, Y/n's heart dropping to her stomach as guilt runs through her veins. Even as twins, Neteyam was still the older brother. He and Y/n might have been conceived during a war, but Neteyam had been bred for it, whether or not their parents realized this. Before Kiri was in the picture and before either she or Y/n had their own voices, Y/n was the one expected to be the next tsahik. With Little Y/n learning the Will of Eywa from her grandmother, Neteyam was learning to be the next olo'eyktan. He had to learn to be strong quick, to hunt quick, to think quick. Even when Y/n finally put her foot down and passed the torch of tsakarem to Kiri, she couldn't catch up to all Neteyam had already learned. She wasn't able to share that burden with her twin, and that guilt hung heavy in her heart.
"... That's not a good thing, tsmukan." She spoke gently, even her whisper sounding like a drum in the silence, "There's more to life than fighting."
"I know," Neteyam's posture shrinks, defeated, his smile not quite reaching his eyes when he glances back to Y/n, "But I haven't found what that 'more' is yet. Not for me at least... You did."
"I did?" She tilts her head curiously.
A glint sparkles in Neteyam's eye, like he knew a secret that not even his twin knew. His tail swings behind him with interest, teasing when he nudged her leg with his shoulder, "Ao'nung is good for you. And you're good for him."
He caught the flash in her eye. The flash of understanding behind the meaning of his words. The flash is there one moment and then gone the next. Y/n shifts uncomfortably in her sitting posture and nods, "He's a good friend."
"He is." Neteyam chuckles, "For me. For Lo'ak, and Kiri, and Tuk. But not for you. For you, he's 'more.'"
Quiet surrounds them once again, Y/n glaring down at her feet as if she had been caught stealing treats from Norm. She looked ashamed and belittled, likely wishing her own brother didn't know everything about her even before she knew those things herself. She swallows down whatever emotion came to mind before she looked up, stubbornly staring Neteyam down,
"I don't need 'more'. I just need this. This family is all I need."
~~~~~~~~~
The Sully family had been tense ever since Lo'ak bonded with Payakan, speaking few and far in between words to one another if found in the same space. It wasn't much significance to them whether or not Lo'ak had bonded with the outcast, but to Jake, it was all about principle. Whether or not the family was proud or disappointed in Lo'ak's accomplishment had not been said, but something heavy was floating in the air, like the calm before the storm. The idea of war was still fresh at the very back of their minds, ever looming like a vulture, waiting to strike. Something had changed the other night, shifting into place, deciding the Sullys' fates. Although, no one knew what kind of fate, and that unsettled them.
Unlike the rest of her family, however, Y/n wanted to do something about it. She started by finding the one person she knew would help her, "Take me to the Cove of the Ancestors."
Ao'nung looked up from sharpening his spear, ears immediately rising to the sound of her voice. He tilts his head and forms a closed-mouth smile, though his eyes squint in confusion, trying to solve whatever puzzle he found on Y/n's face, "Why?"
"Because you said you would take me there," Y/n quipped back, taking the spear out of his hands and backing away, "I'm cashing in the offer."
"What is 'cashing?'" He stood up, following her with his arm out, only half-heartedly trying to take the spear back from the Omatikaya girl.
When she purposely kept the weapon out of his reach, Ao'nung smirked, taking a huge step forward so he could stare smugly down at her with their subtle height difference. They were close, close enough to share the same air, and despite Neteyam's words playing back in her head, despite the shame and guilt in her gut, Y/n stomped it down and stood strong.
"It means I want you to stand behind your word." She matches his grin with one of her own, ignoring the heat threatening to rise up to her face as she purposely kept eye contact, "You promised to take me to the Cove. I want you to keep your promise."
She stepped away then, never taking her eyes off him until she fully turned back in the direction she came, walking away with the spear still in hand. She could feel his eyes on her, a thrill running up her spine at the mental image of it. An even bigger thrill, the one led by a horn of victory in her head, went through her whole body when she heard Ao'nung dutifully following her without complaint and without question.
They summoned nearby ilu and fled without another word. They dive down deep into the water and only resurfaced when they had left the sea wall and village behind. Once Y/n inhaled the crisp air, she tosses the spear back to Ao'nung, who effortlessly caught it with a grin of excitement and promise, "Follow me."
~~~~~~~~~
A feeling of familiarity took hold of Y/n when she emerged from the water and looked up to find floating islands all around her. An instant smile graces her face, looking around at all the floating rocks, surrounding a wide circle of water at the center of spectacularly arched rocks easily identifying this sacred place. It wasn't entirely like the Hallelujah Mountains. These floating islands were smaller and floated horizontally, like large stepping stones leading up to the heavens above.
Ao'nung emerged and looked around, unimpressed, "This is it."
"It's beautiful."
He shrugged, "It's not much."
"To you, maybe," she grinned while pointing up at the floating rocks, "To me, I see the potential of kicking your ass climbing up those islands."
He laughed, "Careful what you wish for, Forest Girl."
"Is the Tree on one of those islands?"
"Nope." He smiles slyly, "I'll give you another guess though."
She flashed an odd look before looking around, finally staring down below, into the water. Ao'nung dismounted from his ilu and drifted over to Y/n, "Remember, I'm just acting as your diving partner today. We always have to pair up here. One has to watch over and monitor the other while they connect to our ancestors. Got it?" She nods. "Let's go."
The Na'vi girl sinks into the water with him and they submerge after she takes a deep breath. They swim down, side by side, as they approach the large, underwater Spirit Tree. Instead of limbs hanging down like Y/n was used to, this tree's arms reached up, flowing in the water like an overlarge, glowing anemone. Y/n reaches out and gently touches one of the luminous, graceful fronds, smiling to herself when it tickled her palm to greet her.
Ao'nung chirps low in his throat, like a baby crocodile, to grab Y/n's attention. When she turned her head in his direction, he moves his hands about, "The Tree is called Utraya Mokri. It gives breath when the kuru is connected."
Y/n nods in understanding, reaching behind and taking her braid in hand. She gently offers the tendrils to reach out and curl into the ones belonging to the Tree and closed her eyes.
Ao'nung dutifully keeps watch while Y/n connects with his ancestors. The Tree glows and looms beautifully over him, but he's not paying attention. He's seen the Tree hundreds of times and while it is beautiful, it's nothing new. Y/n, on the other hand, is new, and his attention would rather fixate on her than the Tree he's grown bored of over his young life. Her braided hair floats around her like fpxafaw, and her tail, usually dormant, twitches occasionally in response to the bond. Her fingers, all five of them, still delicately hold her braid to the Tree's fronds. Her hands weren't as strange as Ao'nung initially thought. In many ways, he reasoned the extra finger was good for some things-- like the punch Lo'ak fooled him into taking. If nothing else, an extra finger just means more to hold.
Y/n's body jolts and Ao'nung is torn from his traitorous thoughts. He swims forward and wraps his whole hand around her arm and then her kuru lets go of the Tree. Y/n's eyes flutter, still closed, a little dazed and overwhelmed from the whole experience as expected. With Ao'nung's support, she's brought back up to the surface and she slowly remembers to breathe again, now that she didn't have the Spirit Tree to aid her. The two young Na'vi stay there, treading water as Y/n catches her breath, and once her head is no longer foggy, her eyes appeared saddened, an expression that irritated Ao'nung for some reason.
"Not what you were expecting?" He asked light-heartedly.
"It's just..." she shook her head, bottom lip pouting with her eyes lowered, the water reaching up to kiss her chin, "I was hoping for answers."
He didn't ask, but maybe he should have. It's something that would continue to gnaw at him as the rain clouds float overhead. It would gnaw at him as he expressed on returning home before the storm, it would gnaw at him as their swim back resulted in silence and pouring rain. It would continue to gnaw at him as they approached the village, his ears rising to attention when the horn sounds, his blood cooling in fear and worry.
"Find your family."
"Why?" Y/n asked as her ears lowered in concern, loose hairs plastered to her forehead, "What's wrong?"
"It's a war cry. My father has called for a war meeting."

A/N: Not sure when 'part three' will be out, but it'll likely be longer than normal. Thank you so much for all the support and love I have seen from my very first Avatar work! It motivates me to continue doing what I love!

y/n had been keeping herself busy for the past 3 months. she did everything to keep her mind off of everything. weaving baskets and nets like it was a project to give everyone in the clan, fishing for meals that can have her family full for 5 whole months, collecting and discarding every foraged stuff she could get from her endless walks, riding her ilu further and further beyond the reef just to feel something.
being the oldest of the sully kids was tiring but even being a sister wasn't able to make her feel anything. it was much more numbing than it should be. it made her distant from them.
lo'ak couldn't meet y/n in her eyes. it was like if they looked at each other, the walls they both built would crumble the second their gazes meet. it was like strangers being forced to get to know each other after knowing the horrible crimes they both did.
kiri was very concerned for her older sister. y/n exerts her energy beyond her capacity, does dangerous explorations beyond the reef, and sometimes come back with cuts and bruises, and how she would skip meals to finish all the projects she 'needs' to weave. she was overworking herself and in the 3 months y/n was busy, she had fainted countless times eventually norm and max were called when it kept happening.
tuk missed her big sister so much. she missed collecting pearls by the shore and being carried around while exploring the forest. she was scared at how y/n looked now. from once being a bubbly young adult who was curious and eager to learn something new to a drained-out, almost dead-looking na'vi who would kill people if she saw them looking at her weirdly.
if the three were concerned, imagine how her parents feel. it hurt jake and neytiri to see their oldest overwork herself to distract whatever she was feeling. jake knew how it felt like and he wanted to help his daughter badly. but each time he tried to talk to her, y/n would push him away further and further. she even hissed at him to make her point.
neytiri was angry and concerned. why was her daughter pushing her own mother away when all she wanted to do was help? y/n shouldn't push her away because as her mother, neytiri understands her more than y/n knows, or at least that's what she likes to think.
it was like y/n became a stranger that the sully's just allowed to stay in their home.
Tumblr media
when y/n was fishing for dinner, her mind had been wandering elsewhere. her eyes stared down at the net she held as dread slowly filled her mind. it was like her sight was enlarging in front of her until she hears a distorted voice call out her name. "y/n."
she pulled away from her trance, eyes widening as her breathing became slightly erratic. y/n breathed in deeply through her nose and out through her mouth before her attention went to ao'nung, or what looked like ao'nung by the shore.
"hey there! just a quick update. tsireya is still swimming with the ikrans, who were gliding through the mountains on their bellies, then they ate an eye of a seaweed. now, the ilus and tulkans are fighting for some reason." ao'nung said, he was far away from y/n but somehow she heard everything clearly.
"oh… wow…" y/n says, clearly not understanding a single thing from what the metkayina had just said.
"how's your existential crisis coming along?" he asked so nonchalantly.
y/n was bewildered to say the least. this was the longest time she had held a conversation for how many months now.
"uh… fine?" she answered back but it sounded more like a question. "good!" ao'nung exclaimed back before turning around to leave when,
"ao'nung!" y/n immediately called for him, who turned back around to look. "can… can dreams also have memories?" that sounded wrong. "i mean, can you still have dreams even when you're dreaming?"
"oh, y/n. what else are memories if not dreams themselves?" ao'nung replies, not making as much sense as the question she asked.
"what–" "alright then, more soon!" ao'nung cuts her off before running off to eywa knows where.
y/n was left once again with her thoughts. she turns back to the net she was holding, only for it to be gone. this confused her and when she turned back to where the shore was, the next thing she knew, she was sitting on a giant rock.
"do you blame yourself?" the same distorted voice that called out her name earlier asked. distress filled her veins as she looked to where she heard the voice.
y/n's eyebrows furrowed. "what?" she asked. she saw herself, an exact copy of herself wearing human clothes that norm and max wear with a pen and paper held in her hands.
"well, it's quite common in this situation for a patient to feel a kind of guilt." her copy said, voice distorting more and more.
y/n's mind was in turmoil. "what situation?" she asked. the same dread she was feeling came into full force. her chest became heavy as it caused her to not breathe well.
her copy had this concerned look but the smallest of a smirk appeared on her lips, the following words leaving the copy's mouth. "the accident."
that's when y/n was transported back to the day neteyam had died.
she was there when he was shot through the chest. she knew the bullet was meant for her but he pushed her away and in turn, the faith of death fell upon him.
while the rest of her family had cried, she didn't. instead, she felt numb and angry. no other emotions filled her body except these two. it had helped her kill some sky people and some avatars when she came back to save kiri with her parents but after that, all y/n felt was numbness.
the heavy routine she placed upon herself became the only thing that made her feel something through the numbness she felt. it wasn't enough but at least it was something.
the same distorted voice came back. "it's very common for people to invent blame or create a causality" then the voice became normal in an abrupt manner, and her surroundings turned to norm's lab where he used his avatar and where they were able to breathe normally. "when in reality, it was completely out of your control." norm's voice was soft as he talked to the young na'vi in front of him, who in turn was staring off through the distance.
the forest where she and neteyam grew up, only for her brother to never come back home.

Melt For You
Tumblr media
summary: you were a pure soul, a kind heart that brought happiness to all of the metkayina, including the tough son ao'nung
1k words, fem!metkayina reader
──── ⑅*❀*⑅ ────
The entire village knew you as kind. A pure hearted girl whose joy filtrated through the entire village. Your smile made others smile. You sparked happiness within everyone’s heart.
Your heart-warming presence had its effect on everyone. Even the harsh son of the chief Tonowari. Ao’nung couldn’t deny that his lips slightly curved seeing your bright smile. Or the way his chest would flutter seeing you walk by and wave.
It made him melt, you made him melt. Like ice cream on a hot day dripping onto the pavement melt. If you and the stars were next to each other you’d be shining brighter. If there was a shooting star in the sky he’d still rather stare into the galaxies in your eyes.
He was laying on a hammock just outside where his family rested. The light breeze rocked him side to side lulling him to sleep. The warm sun shining on him filled his body with warmth. It was a time he felt truly calm.
You came up beside him, slightly bouncing on the tightly pulled fabric that formed a path over the sand. Resting a soft hand on his shoulder to not scare him too much.
“Ao’nung.” Your voice was gentle in his ear, like a perfect song he’d listen to for eternity.
His eyes immediately went to your crouched figure next to him. Your skin shimmered in the sun, and your hair softly blew in the wind. You were like a portrait, framed in the museum of his mind, each stroke of a brush created your beauty.
“Hi Y/N.” His voice was croaky, a tired morning voice, not yet ready to be spoken to the world.
“Would you like to come make some baskets with me?” His heart fluttered when you offered. The thought of you thinking of him made him feel like his heart grew wings and was ready to fly away.
“Of course, I would.” Getting off the comfort of the soft hammock he followed your enthusiastic figure down to near the shore.
You had laid out multiple piles of leaves to be handwoven into intricate baskets to hold anything from tiny trinkets to the produce of a successful hunt. He watched you take a seat on the warm sand and followed suit.
He’d follow you to the ends of the earth if you told him to. Your smile was intoxicating to him, your being was like an addictive substance he would never let go of.
He watched your fingers intricately weave with the leaves with such ease. You made everything just look so graceful, so perfect.
“Ao’nung you’ve barely started, do you need help?” The tenderness of your voice rung in his ears. It would’ve made him shudder, but he had at least a little presence of self-control.
“I don’t weave, I am a hunter Y/N. So yes… I would like some help.” His voice grew small at the end making you chuckle.
“You’re cute when you’re embarrassed.”
If he were a man before this statement no one would have ever known. Because he now felt like a puddle of mush on the sand to be washed away by the high tide.
He stammered a couple times before being able to get a retort back. “I’d hoped to be handsome.” Batting his eyelids in a joking way to cover the fact that his heart sounded like a drum.
“Fine, you can be handsome then.”
Ao’nung’s brain might have malfunctioned. The cogs of his brain stopped working and his hands froze looking up to you giggling figure. How could you think he was handsome when you were beauty itself.
“I need help with the basket Y/N.” Stern wasn’t exactly what his voice sounded like, but it was what he was going for.
“Oh yes. That’s right.” Grabbing his fingers softly you started to guide his hands in the detailed pattern. You watched him get continuously flustered as he gulped harshly whenever your hands would reposition themselves on his.
He was a mess in your touch. If he were to be a candle you’d be his flame. Flickering in the breeze slowly heating him up and melting him with your warmth.
“Y/N.” His voice was gruff, like he had been holding back his voice for a millennium.
“Are you understanding this pattern? You don’t seem to be listening.” A smile grew on your face as Ao’nung’s eyes tried to avoid anywhere but yours. He couldn’t meet them just yet. Not while his thoughts brewed in his mind that was filled of you.
“Y/N… I can’t focus on the basket. I can’t focus on anything right now.” Desperation echoed through his voice as looked up into your curious eyes. Your head tilted slightly waiting for him to continue explaining.
“I can only focus on you.”
Eyes wide you smiled at him. You weren’t oblivious to his feelings, and you hoped he wasn’t oblivious to yours. I mean who wouldn’t fall in love with the man. He was handsome, strong, funny and only a little daft.
“Then focus on me.” You tilted your head forward to get closer to his face. The proximity making the air between the two thick and filled with tension. Loving tension, tension that had been held back for years.
Ao’nung under his tough exterior and harsh nature was still a soft boy at heart. And you had cracked his shell.
The tension was sharp enough to cut with a knife, but no knife was needed as he softly put his lips to yours. Slowly kissing you, his eyes shut tight as his hands travelled to hold your cheeks.
This was ecstasy to him. Pure bliss. He was in a state of euphoria feeling you touch on him so delicately.
The way your lips melded together perfectly made your heart flutter as you hung your hands around his neck. You heart pounded in your chest and you kissed deeper to try and silence it.
Breaking away his lips were slightly swollen, licking the bottom lip in disbelief that he had kissed you. You had enchanted him completely and he was ready to be bewitched by you till the very end.
