À l’occasion des 50 ans de Woodstock et de la sortie d’un hors-série spécial, Rolling Stone vous invite au Hard Rock Café pour un Apérock pas comme les autres… Au programme : hommage et concerts !

Rolling Stone Magazine vous invite à son Apérock pour trinquer en cette rentrée autour de son Hors-Série Spécial 50 ans de Woodstock (disponible en kiosque) le 19 septembre prochain, à partir de 19h30, dans les beaux locaux du Hard Rock Cafe Paris et en présence de la rédaction Rolling Stone France.

Au programme de cette soirée sous forme d’Apérock : rencontres avec nos journalistes et concerts ! De la bonne musique avec deux live acoustiques exclusifs de nos chouchous Rest In Gale et Slim & The Beast. Mais aussi un quizz et de cadeaux à gagner. Bonne nouvelle : late Happy Hour toute la soirée. On nous dit dans l’oreillette que le hors-série sera également en vente sur place… Toutes les infos sur l’événement sont à retrouver par ici.

En attendant, (re)découvrez l’une des prestations acoustiques livrées par Slim & The Beast à l’occasion des 50 ans de Woodstock, « Crosstown Traffic » de Jimi Hendrix.

Rattraper!

Wow, it has been a really long time since I've blogged. Except for the two days in July around Bastille day here in Paris, I haven't logged in since May. I will try and quickly catch you up in a couple of blogs and then talk about what's going on now. In May, had a wonderful visit from our neighbor Katie. We did a lot of things in Paris because it was her first time here. We went to Notre Dame, the Eiffel tower and Katie and I went on the large Ferris wheel at the Place de la Cocorde and got some beautiful views of Paris.

We went to the zoo in the Jardin des Plantes and that was really really fun. There weren’t any really large creatures but the birds, reptiles, yaks, ewes and all the other creatures were interesting and varied. And no, that is not someone’s front yard (see below!).

We had a lot of visitors in May. Our friends Tom and Dale, who also visited last time, came and we had a wonderful week just catching up and going out to some wonderful restaurants. At the same time an old high school friend was in town, Lisa Lowell, who is a professional singer/songwriter. We met up with her while she did a guest appearance with the band called Sofaï and her Brigands. Unbeknownst to me there are 2 clubs called Café Aperock and sure enough, we arrived at the wrong one. Hence we took a snail’s pace Uber (eerrrgggg!!) to the right club and luckily didn’t miss anything. Dale, Tom, Richard and I had a great time listening to the band. It was a real treat to see and hear Lisa (on the right) sing. We ate at the club and noticed a curious item on the menu!! Can you spot it?

I had another visit with one of my college roommates, Joy. We have not really seen each other except for once or twice in over 40 years. It was absolutely great catching up. She stayed with us for a bit and then went to her daughter’s in law's apartment. They are doing the same thing we are, spending a year in Paris. Her visit coincided with the Fête de la Musique, where bands and musicians play all over Paris, especially in the streets, all day and night on June 21. The couple dancing is our concierge and her son.

And this is us back in the day...1970!!
