Will Neo and Cinder be Kidnapping Oscar or ..... someone else

Salutations Luna! Hmm…my money is on Ruby being the key target for our villainousFire and Ice-cream Duo. 

It was teasedlast season that Cinder prompted Neo to help her get to Atlas and find Ruby.And once that was done, the rest would be up to Neo to enact her revenge on thelittle red rose as Neo saw fit.

So if anyone is in danger of gettingabducted or lured into any kind of trap by Neo and Cinder, it’s definitelyRuby.

Then again, I also have this smalltheory of what if…Neo and Cinder kidnap Oscar and use him to lure our Ruby into a trap?  

An alternative to this would be thereverse where, while down in Mantle, Ruby is lured far away from her friends intoan ambush by Neo who was disguised as either one of Ruby’s comrades and/orteammates (perhaps Weiss or even Penny) or even a Mantle citizen in dire need of help.

Like imagineif…while down in Mantle, Ruby runs into a young woman who comes to herbegging for her help, informing Ruby that her little sisteris trapped somewhere in far Mantle. So without hesitation, Ruby follows the woman far, farout into Mantle. Eventually the woman stops and Ruby asks her about her trappedsister. The woman points to an abandoned building of some kind. Ruby goes intothe building but as soon as she enters, the woman reveals herself as Neo andblindsides Ruby in an attack.

Since CH9 mentioned that Oscar returnedto Atlas Academy with Ironwood, let’s say… that while up in Atlas Academy, Oscar is there with Ironwoodinside of his head office monitoring the Search and Rescue down in Mantle fromafar; keeping as much tabs on everyone’s whereabouts and progress in theirrespective evacuations since I’m assuming it’ll be ‘divideand conquer’ with the JNR_QRWBY and the Ace Opssplitting up all around Mantle to cover more ground and thus save more innocentlives.

Let’s say… Ironwood was communicating with his Ace Ops and Military forceswhile simultaneously working against Watts to stop him from infiltrating Atlas’mainframe or whatnot with his hacking. And while the General was busy withthat, Oscar monitored his teammates’ progress while keeping in close contactwith them on his Scroll. This was inclusive of Ruby until at some point; Oscar suddenly losescontact with Ruby. Her Scroll signal goes dead silent.

This causes Oscar to panic over whathappened to Ruby. He attempts to alert the others of Ruby’s disappearance but…imagine if…thisis thwarted by Watts’ successfully hacking into Atlas’ mainframe and scramblingthe system in such a way that results in Ironwood losing all communication with his troops in the field. Samefor Oscar. Perhaps Watts hacking doesn’t just mess with communications up inAtlas but down in Mantle as well.

Imagine if…while down in Mantle,everyone loses contact with each other since Watts did something to mess witheveryone’s Scroll signal. With the loss of communication with their allies down in Mantleand with no way of Oscar to alert the others of Ruby’s disappearance, Oscar hasno choice but to go down to Mantle to find Ruby on his own. 

Let’s say…Oscarhad managed to make a record of Ruby’s last known whereabouts before she went offline and that’s where he headed. Maybe it’s Ironwood flying an airship who drops him off.

So while Ironwood goes on a hunt for Watts in agame of cat and mouse and the others handled the evacuation and appearance of TyrianCallows, Oscar dropped down in Mantle to find Ruby.

As for Ruby herself, as I said my headcanon is that Neo and Cinder lured Ruby into an ambush down in Mantlefar, far away from the help of her friends. In their minds, they had Rubytrapped like a rat in maze with no help from her littlepals this time. So basically no one wasgoing to come to Ruby’s rescue …or so the Fireand Ice-cream Duo presumed. 

Do you know what would actually be a pretty wicked thing for theCRWBY to do? 

Imagine if…the Rubyversus Neo and Cinder Fight pays tributeto Monty Oum’s DeadFantasy fan animation?

I’m not sure if you’ve seen DeadFantasy but it’s an old fan animation series that Monty had made that pinnedcharacters from the Dead orAlive videogames against characters from the Final Fantasy and KingdomHearts series. In the first Dead Fantasyvideo, it started off with Yuna from Final Fantasy X running through whatlooked like a maze while being pursued by Ayane and Katsumi from Dead or Alive.

The opening fight between these threegirls was pretty badass and just seeing Yuna hold her own while being doubleteamed by two powerful warrior women trying to take her down is pretty cool.Personally I think it would be very badass on Ruby’s part to see her fare onher own against Neo and Cinder working together at first to take her down.Especially if any kind of backup is to come to Ruby’s aid in the end. MeaningOscar.

While the sudden reappearance of Neoand Cinder did bug me since the show didn’t really provide much buildup during this season for them, if we do get another epic rematch for V7 that parallels V3, then this squiggle meister is definitely hoping it’sthe Rosebuds versus Fire andIce-cream.

We know Neo has her personal beef withRuby for holding her responsible for Torchwick’s death. However Oscar has hisown connection with Cinder Fall since she’s the one who killed Ozpin.

And since we never got to really seehow that fight went down outside of the small teaser from V3, it’d be excitingif Cinder and Oscar re-enacted her final dual with Ozpin. 

Perhaps we could even get a moment where Cinder unfortunately overpowers Oscar and has him pinned down;menacingly whispering in his ear “Do youwant to know how I killed your predecessor?”before…I dunno, pulling the same move she did with Vernal where she piercesOscars’ stomach with her Grimm arm?

The CRWBY Writers did tease “exciting things for Oscar for V7″. I can’t picture Oscar just sitting out of the finale again. They’ve been teasing him fighting a lot for this season. It’s time for Oscar to kick some ass. Especially if it’s in a rematch against a powerful enemy that killed his predecessor. 

Pinning Oscar against Cinder Fall for the V7 finale would be epic! 

Not to mention that I’m still banking on my theory that Oscar will unlock his semblance to protectRuby. I’m still hoping for that. 

I’m hopingthat CH9 won’t be the only episode this season that teased Rosegarden. Butjust in case we don’t get that, I hope we at least get to see Oscar in action. I hope we get to see Oscar do his ownlanding strategy, coming down to Mantle to aid his true rose in the eventthat Neo and Cinder go for her.

That’s my hunch.

Rwby volume 7 episode 2 killed me with all the cute rosegarden look and the Qrow and Ironwood hug😖 So what are your theories on ep2 and ep3? Will Oscar and Ruby be in the same dorm?

Hi again Luna. This episode left me with some conflicting feelings...again. Overall, I liked it especially certain wholesome bits. I loved the moments of seeing out gaggle of heroes reunite with Atlesian allies and seeing Ironwood reunite with Qrow. Ironwood didn’t have to outwardly say to Qrow that he was happy to see him. I think it was implied by his actions---his soft smiles throughout the group’s encounter with him. I feel as if these moments with James come sparingly. He doesn’t seem to be the type to often express his emotions and show how he truly feels. So when you get him to be this outward with you, one thing you can safely assume is that he meant it in good faith.

....Which is why I’m REALLY disappointed that Ruby lied to him!

I mean, I understand why she did it. It’s one of those scenarios where her reasoning is justified but at the same time I’m still mad because I know what this implies. I’m going to assume that Ruby probably did it out of not fully trusting Ironwood’s intentions given all that she’s heard of how his actions are affecting the People of Mantle and how little Ironwood seems to mind that his methods and choices aren’t helping everyone.

I’m also assuming that Ruby chose to lie out of concern for Oscar’s well-being, possibly. The last time an ally of Ozpin’s learnt that whole truth it didn’t particularly end well on Oscar’s part. So I figured Ruby didn’t wish to see another repeat of what transpired in Argus (because I’m pretty sure Ironwood might’ve damn well punched poor Oscar to the moon given how Qrow reacted). 

Again, I see that her intentions were good but at the same time you have to consider the long-term. I also can’t help but shake the feeling that Ironwood may have deceived Ruby about the Relic of Knowledge. How do we know that there weren’t details that Oz entrusted Ironwood with (as part of his specific instructions from Oz in the event of his death) that he didn’t disclose to Qrow.

Here’s something I noticed. When Jaune first asked Oz about the Relic of Knowledge back in V6, Qrow’s reaction was an immediate glance at Ozpin. This along with his surprised reaction to Jinn in a later scene where Ruby first summoned Jin tells me that Qrow didn’t know about Jinn at all. He knew nothing about the Relic of Knowledge.

How compare that to Ironwood’s reaction to Ruby telling him about the Relic of Knowledge. His reaction was different than Qrow’s. Ironwood already knew about how the Relic of Knowledge operates. He already knew about three questions every 100 years and even commented how Oz had already told his circle about this years ago. But I couldn’t help but feel like he probably knew more…and was genuinely curious to how much Oz disclosed to everyone. 

So who’s to say that Oz didn’t also tell Ironwood how to use the Relic in the event that he wasn’t around? I don’t know about you but I can’t help but shake this eerie feeling that Ironwood knows about Jinn. As a matter of fact, the nonchalant way he was completely complacent with allowing the Relic back into Ruby’s custody rubbed me the wrong way. 

Why would Ironwood entrust the Relic back to our heroes? The Relics as weknow as super important. So why not safeguard the Relic of Knowledge along with the Relic of Creation? Why not add it to the Vault or place it somewhere for safekeeping? Why give it back to Ruby? It just doesn’t make any sense. Even Ruby was a bit surprised by that too. 

Here’s what I’m thinking: my hunch right now is that I think Ironwood lied to Ruby in the same breath as she deceived him. Ruby lied about Ozpin just as how Ironwood lied about the Relic. My hunch is that the reason why Ironwood gave the Relic of Knowledge back to Ruby was because the Relic is no longer useful. I believe that Ironwood must’ve summoned Jinn and probably used the last question. So what Ruby is currently safeguarding is a Relic that’s no longer of use to anyone since all three questions has been used up. Imagine if Ruby tried to summon Jinn again only for her  to either a) not appear anymore orb) inform her that all three questions for this current era have already beenused and therefore Jinn cannot help Ruby, not even to answer questions.

I could be entirely wrong about this here but…I can’t help but feel oddly suspicious of that moment. I want to believe that Ironwood genuinely wanted the heroes to trust him and returning the Relic to them was a sign of him doing so. However at the same time, I’m not buying into it 100%. Something is fishy about that scene. But y’know, it’s just a tiny hunch for now.

As for my theories for CH3 and CH4—well obviously those two episodes are going to be settling in to Atlas Academy and training missions with the Ace Ops episodes. We’re probably going to see JNR_RWBY getting their upgrades and new looks in the next episode while the fourth episode will be what we saw in the trailer—them out in the field with Ace Ops on a mission to the Dust Mines.

So CH3 will probably focus on our heroes adjusting to their new life at Atlas Academy—and seeing just how inadequate and out of their league they might feel when standing up against the so-called best of the best in the mightiest kingdom in Remnant. How much you wanna bet that CH3 is going to start off with our heroes sleeping snuggly in their respective dorm rooms only to suddenly be woken up boot-camp style at the crack of dawn with everyone startled out of their beds at the sudden loud noise?

As for whether or not Ruby and Oscar will share the same dorm room, I doubt it. Penny did say that it’s the same living arrangement as Beacon with each huntsmen team having their very own dorm to themselves. Ruby already has her full team.

Oscar on the other hand has no team. However I’m going to assume that Oscar will be bunking with JNR until a different arrangement can be made of him, if required. I’d actually love its if it’s done in a way where JNR allow Oscar to bunk with them; taking him in. It’d be a nice clear sign that Oscar will be joining JNR soon. By having him room with them until further notice. Oh! Imagine if Oscar being a part of JNR was only meant to be a temporary thing but in the end, it becomes permanent as Jaune, Nora and Ren soon see Oscar as the perfect fit for their team.

I’m also expecting Oscar to not have the same training regimen as JNR_RWBY. As I said in my last batch of theories, I feel like Oscar is going to be training privately with Ironwood while JNR_RWBY will train with the Ace Ops out in the field.

One thing I’m mucho concerned for going forward is Oscar’s friendship with Ruby. I’m a little worried that her lying to James may have hurt him a little bit. 

After all, look at the hypocrisy in Ruby’s actions. Ozpin use to bank on lies and half-truths and when he was forcibly outted by Jinn; courtesy of Ruby herself, he was rewarded with everyone losing their trust in him and turning their backs away from him.

So I’m worried Oscar might be a little mad at Ruby in the next episode because technically, she did the exact same thing that got Oz in trouble with everyone. Imagine if Oscar even gives Ruby the cold shoulder a bit or might feel weird around her. I dunno. Somehow I’m expecting Oscar to look at Ruby a little funny next episode. I definitely expecting the two to have another moment like the Dojo Scene from V5.

I expect Oscar to pull Ruby aside at some point and confront her on lying to Ironwood. As a matter of fact, I kind of expect several confrontations between these two over the season. 

As a matter of fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s during another heart to heart with Oscar where we get this line from Ruby from the V7 Trailer:

“…I’m trying to do what I think it’s best but I really can’t tell if what’s best is what’s right…”

It’d be interesting if it is. 

Imagine if…at first Ruby convinces Oscar that keeping the truth from James is a good idea for the time being until they can figure things out. Initially Oscar, while clearly skeptical, goes along with Ruby’s plan as he trusts her. However ultimately Oscar becomes conflicted from withholding the truth especially as he grows close to Ironwood. 

Somehow I feel as if this moment from CH2 is going to lead to Oscar calling Ruby and the others out for the way they treated Oz. After all, it’s the same scenario. I can also see this leading into a moment where Oscar questions Ruby on whether or not she trusts Ozpin and whether or not she trusts him too. After all, right now Oscar believes that he is destined to become the next Ozpin.

So…imagine how heartbroken he will feel if he pushes Ruby into a corner where she has to admit that she still distrusts Oz which will unintentionally hurt Oscar since it’ll come as if she doesn’t trust him either. I’m just picturing a potential big argument between these two that’s going to be real heavy.

It won’t happen in the third or fourth episodes, obviously not. But I wouldn’t be surprised if we got little breadcrumbs of it going forward.

The Rosebuds are going to talk and they’re probably going to fight. The truth will come out. Things will fall apart for a moment but in the end, everything will be mended back because of trust.

Trusting in love.

Ok ok Wat if Oscar is like Deku He has the semblances of his past lives? That would be AMAZING 😍

Hiya Luna. While that would've been an interesting idea; as far as we'reaware, none of the past Wizards of Light possessed their own semblances. As amatter of fact, the closest thing to a semblance that's been passed down to each Wizard through the cycle is theability to use magic. In a way, magic is the equivalent of the Wizards' One ForAll since it's shared by all of them through the different generations.

As I told @miki-13, I'm kind of startingto wonder what's the point of even giving Oscar a semblance at all when he mightas well make use of the magical powers inherited from the past. I understandthat the power is dwindling; but nevertheless, it’s still Oscar's to command so he should beable to still use it to some degrees as Ozpin did during the Fall of Beacon.

Not to mention that I'm still stickingto my guns on the thought of if the Wizards are capable of gifting their magicto others then I'm assuming that they should be able to take it back. This ismainly because I really, really want to see Oscarand Oz work together as one to defeatCinder Fall in a rematch and relinquish her of the Fall Maiden Magic. I know there’s the whole ‘Maidenschoose themselves’ rule however the Maiden Magicoriginated from a Wizard. The Maiden Magic was Ozma's magic.

Ironically enough, Cinder believes thatthe Maiden magic---all of it---should be hers. All the more reason why Iwant a future scene where Oscar puts her in her place by taking back the powershe stole from Amber. A power that should rightfully be his since he is Ozma's successor. 

Seriously I can't wait for Oscar to usemagic. While his semblance reveal would be all that and a bag of chip, this squiggle meister is more looking forward to Oscar becoming afully realized magi like the ones in the fairy tales he draws inspirationfrom. I want to see Oscar use the Long Memory and show off some of demmagic tricks that were alluded since V3 and got teased in V6. But that's justme.

But if Oscar is to have his own power unique to him, mybest bet still vehemently remains to be a Nullification type of ability that can cancel out the use or effectsof another's semblance.

Hey! Any theories on the intro? And the upcoming fight with Oscar and Ironwood. I'm soooo excited 😖 gooo OSCAR!!😍

Hello again Luna. Well I don’t wish to discuss much out in the open since there are still folks who follow my blog and content who haven’t seen the episode as yet. So out of respect for them, I’m going to give my answer under cut.

Theories based on the intro. Whelp since the tradition since V6 is that RWBY opening sheds light on some of the story beats and subplots that will be focused on for part of the season, here’s what I’m anticipating is going to go down for V7:

Keeping Up with Best of the Best: 

JNR_RWBY will probably placed under the guidance and supervision of Atlesian Ace Ops who will more or less oversee their continued training as huntsmen.

We’ll probably have at least one episode or two in which our young heroes head out on missions  around Mantle and Solitas accompanying the Ace Ops in the field.  

While I’d love to see JNR_RWBY work alongside the Aces for more than one mission; if I’m going off the footage in the V7 opening and the V7 trailer,  the main mission will obviously be the one teased before in the trailer. The mission that takes place presumably in the Dust Mines of Atlas; infested with Centinal Grimm and another Geist Grimm.

Wouldnt surprise me if we got that mission episode between CH3 and 4 since I’m sure CH2 will involve the group being held in prison under firm interrogation until Ironwood arrives to bail them out (much like in @miki-13’s fanfic “Reconciliation”)

Oscar-Worthy: 

While JNR_RWBY will be out with Ace Ops, they’re not the only ones getting a taste of Atlas style of teaching. As shown, Oscar will remain in Atlas to be trained personally by Ironwood.

James and Oscar weren’t fighting. I guess this was more or less a little friendly sparring match for Ironwood to test just how far Oscar is in his training and skills as the successor to Oz.

Like you, I’m interested to see how this match will go. However at the same time, I’m not rooting for Oscar to win this one on one. On the contrary, I’m more anticipating Ironwood to wipe the floor with Oscar in their first match. He’ll probably go easy on him at first only to later take it up a notch and become more aggressive, forcing Oscar into a corner.I’m hoping this first fight between them is actually more…I guess serious when it comes to the actual episode. This opening makes it look like these two are play fighting and Ironwood is humouring Oscar. Don’t get me wrong. I want Ironwood to more or less be a good teacher to Oscar but at the same time, I don’t want him to coddle him either. Ironwood has been shown to be a hard boiled badass of a soldier. A man who singlehandedly slam-dunked a charging Beowolf with one hand and shot it straight through the neck with his other hand.

Let that guy teach Oscar a thing or two on what it’s light to be a warrior. War is nothing to take lightly. One slip up—even the tiniest of them can easily open the door to victory or failure. I can see Ironwood drilling that lesson into Oscar very firmly.

One thing I’m also hoping for is that there will be an audience there to show Oscar support during his sparring match with Oscar. I know JNR_RWBY will be mostly out in the field but I think it’d be cute to have someone there on Oscar’s behalf to cheer him on and help him up after Ironwood kicks his ass the first time.

With Ironwood training Oscar for V7, I’m hoping for V7 that we can at least get one Oscar-worthy episode where he is the focal point or key driver of the chapter. 

Similar to how we had the Jaundice multi-part episodes back during V1, it would be pretty great if Oscar got his own ‘Oscar-worthy’-titled episode that focuses heavily on his feelings handling everything (leaving home, the events of Mistral and Haven, Jinn’s story, Ozpin’s isolation, etc)  while additionally trying to keep up with Ironwood’s rigourous training regiment which the poor boy unfortunately struggles with in the beginning.

As a matter of fact, one thing I’m anticipating for with Ironwood training Oscar is the show highlighting Oscar struggling at first. I understand that Oscar’s whole thing is that he picks up things fast while also being expected to inherit Oz’s muscle memory; which we’ve seen him achieve.

That being said, I hope it’s not another example of the Writers neglecting to portray Oscar as his own character first and foremost.It still bothers me that after two seasons, we still don’t know much about Oscar’s true thoughts and how he feels. 

For the most part we’ve just seen him humbly accept everything that’s happened to him since the events of V4 and be perfectly comfortable with being puppeteered around by Ozpin while signing away his life to being another for Ozma to live through.

…Yep. Oscar has been with with the heroes for 48-49 days (1 month, 2 weeks and 4 days since V4 to V6, according to the RWBY timeline)  since he first left his presumably sheltered life back in Mistral and he’s just fine with all that’s happened since then. Uh huh. That’s what the show and the CRWBY Writers want me to wholeheartedly believe. Sure. 

It was especially worse last season where Oscar was supposed to be a focal figure of the season, like Ozpin, but the Writers once again overlooked him in favour of other characters (including ones who weren’t relevant to the main plot of that season). 

This is why I believe an Oscar-worthy episode isn’t only warranted by strongly needed at this point. What could be even better is if that episode is used to spark a close friendship and potential brotherhood between Oscar and Jaune. 

Why I want an episode where Oscar is seen struggling with his training and/or slowly beginning to fall apart from the pressures of everything around him to the point of frustration is because I can see it parallelling Jaundice where Jaune suffered through the same emotional struggles.

Jaune have come a long, long way from the whimpy kid he started off as. Perhaps he could use his experience to help and/or guide Oscar when he falters. 

I believe it was mentioned in an interview with M&K that Oscar might share a similar story beat to Jaune when he first started out.  I hope this means we’ll get to see Oscar go through an Jaundice-esque type of experience which in turn will prompt Jaune to want to help him since he sees his old self mirrored in Oscar. It’d be even nicer if this is followed up by Jaune offering to have practice sessions with Oscar to help him with improving his fighting technique. 

While I’d still love for Ruby to be the one to help Oscar with his training, I feel like it’d be more meaningful if Jaune offers to help Oscar similar to how Pyrhha once offered to help him back in V1.

I’ve been waiting for a moment where Jaune becomes a big brother/ mentor type character to Oscar since V5.

Plus if Oscar is indeed destined to join JNR (as the opening alluded to), this would be a nice way to have Oscar and Jaune bond to build into the potential of them eventually become teammates and brothers in arms.

I’d love it if we get a moment where Jaune and Oscar are training together while Nora, Ren and even Ruby observe from a far.

Having RNJR be a part of Oscar’s training and development as a fighter is a nice callback to V5 where the five of them were being trained under Oz’s watch and guidance.

Plus this could provide another example of RNJR becoming Oscar’s Golden Circle of close confidantes.I’m seeing more and more signs of the Golden Circle being a canonical possibility as the series feeds me more evidence for my Pinehead headcanon.

I hope they don’t stop for V7. I really want to see RNJR become Oscar’s main group. JNR as his potential huntsman team and surrogate family and Ruby as Oscar’s best friend, most trusted companion and of course, his potential love interest (maybe).

So yeah it’d be nice if Oscar training Ironwood is a sign he might have his own Jaundice-esque episode that focuses on him and his growing friendship with RNJR. I mean it’d be nice if one of the episodes gave us that for him this season. 

But given the Writers’ track recording on dishing those out; that’s wishful thinking. Ey who knows?

Schnee Family Affairs: 

Judging by the fact that they are featured in the intro, apparently Weiss is going to have to confront the conflicts with her that she left behind in V4. This also seems to be tied into something to do with the Crimes of the SDC. As alluded to the audience during the World of Remnant episode on the Schnee Dust Company, the company has committed one or two nefarious deeds under Jacques Schnee’s leadership. 

The intro also highlighted the new Robyn Hill character looking at tele-ad of Ironwood which later glitches to Jacques.This makes me wonder something curious but I’ll save it for my musing post. 

All I will say for now is that there is a definitely a connection between this Hill character, Ironwood and Jacques Schnee. It can also be noted that Qrow will meet Hill face to face. My theory on that is that James will probably task Qrow to investigate some strange things going down in Mantle that’s connected to Hill. 

My hunch with that is that Hill is the prime suspect in some reported mishaps down in Mantle when the reality is that it’s Tyrian Callows who's been causing trouble on Watts behalf. 

That’s my hunch. Speaking of Watts.

Watts’ Mole?

In the opening Watts is seen observing an image of the Ace Ops. This got me curious about that. Why show a shot of Watts eyeballing them specifically of all things with a smirk on his face?

This made me consider two theories as a rationale. Either Watts is watching the Ace Ops because he plans on using them and their influence on the People of Atlas as possibly their finest soldiers to once again humiliate and mock the strength and integrity of Atlas’ Kingdom to the rest of the world; as it was done back during the Vytal Festival.

Or…the Ace Ops or at least ONE of their members is secretly in cohoots with Watts. While I understand that Watts’ gig is that he’s a genius, what if…he had a secret accomplice among the ranks of the Ace Ops who has been feeding him valuable Atlas intel that he then used against the Atlesian military.

We can assume that Watts’ was exiled from Atlas for reasons. But imagine if before being banished, Watts had a family? Like imagine if...Watts is also a dad and one of the Ace Ops members is secretly his kid who he was forced to leave behind when he was banished. Watts then reunited with said child and together the two have been working together to enact their revenge and said child is in the Ace Ops and has been feeding Watts valuable info to help with his schemes for years; including the Fall of Beacon.I could be completely wrong about Watts having a kid in the Ace Ops but…who knows. Let’s leave it on the table for now.

Attack on Mantle: 

This shot makes me think that at some point for the V7 Finale, something big is going to go down in Mantle. Like there might be some big attack. Maybe Watts will create a stronger virus that’ll once again take over all mechanical lifeforms down in Atlas and the robot soldiers (inclusive of Penny 2.0 possibly) will suddenly turn fire on the innocent civilians, sending the People of Mantle into a frenzied panic which in turn will bring forth an army of Grimm to reign down on the Surface Kingdom. It might even attract another big Grimm.

Last time for V6, we got an underused Kaijuu Grimm. Perhaps this round we’ll get an Artic Yeti or Abominable Snowman type of Grimm. Who knows. 

The Relic of Creation: 

Well…we saw it clear as day in the opening. So we can bet the Relic of Creation will be a factor this season. I’m curious to see how Atlas uses this Relic since my hunch is that part of the reason why Atlas has been able to advance so much is due in part to them using the power of Relic of Creation. And since we saw the Relic, I wonder if this means we’ll get a teaser of the identity of the Winter Maiden and the Vault of the Winter Maiden.

Penny: 

... As much as Penny’s shining smile in the opening brightens me up every time I see it, I can’t help but feel uneasy about that. I’ll talk more about on that later in a future musing post. 

No Fire and Icecream? 

Another thing to point out in the V7 opening is the lack of Cinder or Neo.

Even though they were teased heading toward Atlas at the end of V6, the V7 opening showed nothing of them. This makes me wonder if the two are even going to appear at all this season.

I mean take Adam Taurus for example. Even though Adam Taurus didn't appear until the later half of V6, he was still featured in the V6 opening.

Cinder and Neo; nowhere to be found in V7′s opening. This leads me to believe that we may not see these two at all for V7. Then again, it was said in another interview with the Writers that we’ll be learning about Cinder’s past at some point. I can’t remember if it was teased for V7 or a future season.

Either way I can’t really think that she’ll be a character for V7 since she wasn’t shown. 

The same can be said about Salem’s army of Winged Beringels sent after Oz at the end of V6.

I guess they won’t be a factor for V7 either. I guess they’ll be saved for V8 (which is actually a good call).

Speaking of Oz, he was also omitted from this opening. Makes me wonder how much of a presence he’ll have this season.

I’m at least hoping for a thing where Oz comes back a bit for Oscar’s sake. Like maybe he and Oscar sort of reconcile but Oz doesn't take over Oscar’s body anymore. Instead he just plays a voice of guidance to him at times. I wouldn’t mind if Oz was relegated to that role for Oscar’s development. I want V7 to focus on Oscar since his side of things is often overlooked so much. He needs to be a focus.

Love is the Key: 

Looking at how much times it was mentioned in the opening, it may seem that love is a central theme for this season.

It also seems like the lyrics to the V7 Opening might be alluding the Fox’s lesson from the Little Prince. Interesting.

With all this talk about love, I hope this means that romance is in the air for some of our young heroes.

I know we’re more likely to see love in the form of friendship (platonic love), family (familial love) devotion and responsibility to another person. But regardless of this, this squiggle meister is hoping for cupid to rear his fat naked ass and prick some of our heroes with a dose of love straight through the heart.

I want to see some of our characters fall in love with each other (particularly a certain pair of rosebuds who’ve been shown to really care about one another despite only knowing each other for 49 days and have been pretty chummy these past two seasons---just saying).

And yeah, that’s it. That’s all the theories I have for now based on the V7 opening. Anymore that pop up, I’ll just share in a musing or headcanon post. Hope that answers your question, fam.

What do u think of Qrow and Yang being gay disasters 🤣!?

Hello again Luna :D Qrow’s little moment with Clover was pleasantly unexpected, is what I will say? The way how the Branwen man just ogled the man after learning his semblance and the way the camera just zoomed in on his face as he did was so weird but cheesy at the same time. It’s like I said yesterday, Qrow literally eyeballed Clover as if he’s found his soulmate— his other half that he didn’t realize he was missing from his life until that very moment.

While I wouldn’t exactly say this moment confirms anything about Qrow being attracted to Clover in any shape or form. Especially since previous seasons have shown Qrow flirting with mostly women—unless Qrow is actually bisexual and this is his first time being enamoured with a man especially one radiating such confidence as Clover Ebi.

Then again, I don’t want to start putting labels on characters until more legit proof is presented. While I’m tempted to start shipping Qrow with Clover just for funzies, for now I’m just going to chop their interaction down to a simple bromance. 

I’m excited to see how these two work together a lot more. As much as I enjoyed the Ace Ops episode, we didn’t really get to see much of our heroes working with the Ace Ops. The third episode was more for our heroes and the audience to get a sense of what the Aces can bring to the table and boy did these guys not fail to deliver on the awesome sauce.

Nonetheless, I hope we get to see Qrow and Clover actually fight together. I wanna see how a team dynamic between someone with a good lucksemblance and another with a misfortune semblance can balance each other in combat. Judging from the way this episode worked, Clover and Qrow go really well together and I’m not just saying that in a shipping sense. There were moments where both men’s abilities came in clutch for the other—like for example, when Clover caught Qrow the instant he tripped or when Qrow was able to warn Clover before the cave fell on him. I know those moments are minor but to me it showed that if these two were to become a team—like if Qrow and Clover ever decided to partner up and go on missions a lot more, they’d work very well.

In the past, I’d like to think that Qrow possibly felt that he was damned for a life of isolation and loneliness since his semblance rendered him unable to form any lasting meaningful bonds that led to genuine happiness. I mean, I don’t 100% believe this since Qrow does have his people. He had his original team. His family (Raven included in a sense). 

His nieces and he also had Oz who believed in him and saw the good he can do. Yes, I know shit is bad now but…Qrow is capable of having his own happily ever after and I’m hoping that his time with Clover can spark a bit more belief in that. 

Perhaps Qrow can even open up to Clover and get him to finally talk about Oz. Because I’m sure at some point Clover might ask Qrow the question of “There must’ve been at least one person in your life who believed in the good that you do?” which could then prompt Qrow to remember Oz. 

Or, perhaps it can lead to Qrow finally talking about his time with Team STRQ particularly with Summer Rose? I dunno. I guess we’ll see.

As for Yang. Well…if I’m being completely honest here and I hope you don’t get upset with me for saying this but…this squiggle meister didn’t really care at all for that little moment between Blake and Yang in RWBY V7CH3.  I didn’t care because I don’t care for Bumblebee anymore ^^); Sorry. 

I haven’t been fond of the way the CRWBY Writers have chosen to handle the relationship between these two girls; ignoring the issues in their friendship left behind by past seasons that they introduced into the narrative in favour of now pushing them in a more romantic direction which is fine but it honestly feels forced ; in my opinion, since the groundwork for it hasn’t really been there. Or at least it hasn’t been done as well as other relationships these two have with other characters in the show.

Not to mention that all the FNDM discourse surrounding Bumblebee has soured this pair for me just as much as the treatment for it by the showrunners. 

So I’m sorry Luna. I like Yang and seeing her be an awkward butt is adorkable. But it was done as part of another blatant pander to a ship that’s…well, not my ship. 

I would’ve rather that moment been a team moment where Yang, Ruby and Weiss all complement Blake on her new hair or Yang remarks that she’s going to need some time getting used to everyone’s new haircuts and not just Blake’s. But it is what it is.

Man if we got the Rosebuds sharing amoment in the next episode, that’d be awesome especially if it plays out likemy theory. It doesn’t have to be a lengthy scene. I just need a few minutes ofour heroes just chilling in their respective cells. Ruby and Oscar are in theirown cause they’re the babies. Oscar freaks out a little; probably pegs himselfas feeling useless or responsible since if Oz was around, things with them andthe military might’ve played out smoother.

I just want to see Ruby comfort Oscar. Take his hand. Hug him. Smile at him while he blushes. Just something with this adorable kids. One thing I was anticipating possibly for this volume is the concept of thesetwo smaller, more honest souls growing closer than they’ve ever been these pasttwo seasons. I almost feel like its mandatory at this point. With the threat ofSalem and her army of winged Beringels on its way, I’m worried for Oscar’ssafety.

And since Ruby has been established asbeing one of his closest confidantes as the person who looks out for hiswell-being the most, I guess I need more interactions from these two kids.Especially if its showing them helping each other emotionally.

Don’t know what we’ll get for the secondchapter but we shall see how things go tomorrow.

Hey there Luna. Yeah it’s hard to believe that we’re getting both RWBY V7 and The Dragon Prince Book 3 within the same month. November is a good month for both fandoms. As for who I’m most excited for in Book 3? That is a tough question to answer m’friend because after seeing that trailer, I’m excited for everything this season has to offer. Holy shit, that trailer was beyond epic so bring it all on!

Buuuuuut if I had to put a name to what I’m most excited to see from this new season, it’s of course the development of the Rayllum pair. 

As a proud shipper of Callum and Rayla, there were some moments fromthat Book 3 trailer that had my Rayllum shipping heart singing. So right out the gate, can’t wait to see where their relationship goes.

I hope they kiss or at least it’s confirmed that Rayla likes Callum romantically and/or the show highlights Callum starting to develop a crush on Rayla to get over Claudia. You’ve been good to us Rayllum shippers Wonderstorm, keep the breadcrumbs coming for this third installment in the series. 

I’m also curious to see how Soren and Claudia are going to do this season. With how Book 2 left things off with them especially with Claudia’s side of the story, I’m worried for her. I’m concerned she might go down a dark path and while it’s with great intentions (protecting her brother and keep their family from falling apart), I’m concerned she might end up as the good apple that fell not too far from the slowly rotting Viren tree.

As for Viren—well I saw no indication of Aaravos. I mean I know he’s still with Viren since his little bugga-worm form made himself right at home inside of his ear at the end of the last book.

But above all else, what I’m most excited for in TDP3 is…who is gonna be the Hot Elven Daddy for this book? That is a question I need answered because of reasons. 

In Book I, it was Runaan—a.k.a Uncle Hotty and in Book II it was Aaravos with his sinfully delicious ass self. So I wonder who’s it gonna be in Book 3. 

Who’s gonna be The Dragon Prince’s next Dream Elven Daddy?

So yeah, those are my priorities XD That and I’m excited to see Ezran’s development too in this new arc as King. Really looking forward to see how he does especially since it’s also looking as if Viren is going to challenge Ezran’s leadership. So yeah uber excited to see how all that goes down. Overall the hype for TDP3 is bigger than the dragons on the poster art. Can’t wait for November 22nd!

Yessireebobb! I can’t wait to see what the new season brings for our two smaller, more honest souls. I’m still banking on the friendship between the two buds reallytaking off for this season. At least, I hope it does. Trying really hard not toexpect much.

I guess the most I can hope to see isthese two sharing at least another bonding moment meaningful to theirrespective story arcs. Would be nice if we got a reverse parallel to the V5Dojo Scene with Ruby noticing Oscar asking strangely withdrawn from the team(due to Ironwood’s influence) and she confronts him about it out of sheerconcern as a friend and someone who cares about Oscar.

I’d also love to see these two tag teambattle and face off against a common enemy---like Fireand Ice-cream for example. The prospect of theirbeing a rematch between Ruby and Neo and essentially Oscar and Cinder isdefinitely a possibility but…who knows?

Like I said. Don’t want to ask for toomuch. But overall, let’s see what the new season brings!
