It's My Choice
Summary: Echo is in recovery at a GAR medical facility on Coruscant after being assumed KIA. You want to see him, more than anything, and you hope he knows that he's your choice.
Pairing: ARC Trooper Echo x F!Reader
Word Count: 1190
Warnings: reader is described as having hair long enough to style, and as a supermodel.
Tagging: @trixie2023 @n0vqni @imabeautifulbutterfly
A/N: So I had an idea, and I decided to run with it. It might not flow well, simply because I'm very sick and have been for the last two days, but I'm happy with it. (Also, pardon any typos/grammar errors, I typed this while not wearing my eyes.)
Tumblr media
You lean back in the hard, uncomfortable chair of the GAR medical facility, your gaze drifting to the ceiling as you wait for an update on Echo. The chairs really are terrible, but then the clones were never meant to have worried family you suppose.
Jokes on them. Echo has you.
You allow the back of your head to thump against the wall behind you and you stretch your legs out in front of you and cross your ankles.
You've been here for almost 12 hours now.
Fives contacted you as soon as the Resolute landed on Coruscant and informed you that Echo was alive and was being treated for his injuries here. He mentioned that you didn't have to come, but clearly he's lost his damned mind.
As if you'd be anywhere else.
Of course, you probably should have taken the time to make sure that you fixed your hair and washed the extreme make-up off…and changed out of the six inch stilettos you had been forced into for work today.
But, whatever. Echo's alive. Nothing else matters.
Even if your agent has been blowing up your com for the last six hours. And even if General Skywalker has been side-eyeing you like he thinks you're trespassing.
Your comma chimes again, and you absently lift it over your head to read the message. And then promptly deleted it. Your agent will just have to deal.
A door at the end of the hall opens, and you tilt your head to the side, before you sit up straight as Fives steps into the hall and walks over to you.
He takes in your carefully styled hair —artfully tousled, your stylist called it— the dark make-up, and the impossibly high stilettos and he huffs out a laugh, “You come here right from a shoot?”
“Echo’s more important than any photo shoot. Besides, I had already finished when you called.” You reply as you kick your heels off and scramble to your feet, “Can I see him?”
Fives smiles at you, “Yeah. Follow me.” He waits for you to scoop your heels, and your bag, off the ground before he starts walking, “I should warn you…he looks bad.” Fives says quietly as he stops next to the door.
You lift your chin and glare at him, “Contrary to what you, and apparently everyone else, believes. I'm not dating Echo because of his pretty face.”
“Okay, okay. Sheathe your claws, kitten. I just wanted to warn you.” Some of the offended tension drains from your shoulders, you didn’t mean to snap at him, but it wouldn’t be the first time someone made an assumption about you and your choice to have a relationship with Echo.
Fives opens the door and moves to the side to let you into the room, and your breath catches when you see him.
Like Fives said, he looks bad. Thin, too thin by far, and so pale. The prosthetics and cybernetics are new, but honestly, you’re only bothered by them because you’re sure that they must have hurt.
“Echo,” You step into the room, and set your heels and your bag in a chair, before you move closer to his side. There are tears in your eyes, but they’re happy tears, “Welcome home.”
Echo blinks at you, twice, and then he slowly slides up in the hospital bed, “Cyar’ika…when…how did you know I was here?”
“Fives commed me and told me. I’ve been sitting out there for hours.” You look around and then huff out a sigh, before dumping your stuff on the floor and moving the chair next to the bed. You lightly take his prosthetic in your hand, a scomp, rather than a hand.
You hope that it was his choice, rather than one made for him.
He tenses, but he doesn’t pull away from you, “You didn’t have to.”
You smile at him, “Echo. You’re here, and you’re alive. Where else would I be?”
His gaze flickers across your face, and then over to the heels lying on the floor, “Well, judging by the height of those heels, a photoshoot.”
“Not half as important as you.” You reply dismissively.
He shifts and slowly sits up, properly, before reaching out and pressing his flesh hand against your cheek, “Cyar’ika…” Echo hesitates, and then flashes a wry, self-deprecating smile, “I don’t think I’m pretty enough for you.”
You bite your tongue to stem your immediate, and loud, disagreement. Instead you reach up and press your hand over his, rubbing your cheek against his hand. “Why would you say that?”
“Why-? Cyare. Look at me!”
“I am looking.”
“Then I shouldn’t have to explain-”
“Would you like to know what I see when I look at you, Echo?”
“Not really.” You tilt your head, and he sighs, “Tell me.”
“The man who, after meeting me, an actual supermodel, invited me to go to a bookstore with him.” Echo flushes, and it’s obvious due to how pale he is, “A man who overheard me mentioning to my agent that I was worried that I wasn’t going to be able to meet my favorite author and made sure that I arrived on time.” Your smile widens, “A man who learned who my favorite author was, simply so he could read the books too, so he’d have something to talk about with me.”
Echo averts his gaze, “We talked all night.” He murmurs.
“We did. And I got in so much trouble the next morning because I had dark circles under my eyes, and you got in trouble because you were late to formation…but we did the exact same thing three nights later.”
Echo laughs softly, “I thought Rex’s head was going to explode.” He admits.
You release his scomp hand and reach up to press your hand against his cheek, “I see the man I fell in love with. The man who looks at me and sees more than the dumb supermodel that everyone expects me to be.” You scan his face, almost anxiously, “And I’m hoping he still loves me.”
He looks at you, something soft in his gaze, “You still want me-?”
“Always. Forever. Until the stars go cold.”
“Your agent is not going to approve.” Echo warns as he lightly tugs you off the chair and onto the edge of the bed.
“I cannot emphasize enough how little I care about my agent’s opinion.” You admit quietly, “If I have to choose, I know who my choice will be.”
Echo exhales slowly, and slowly tugs you in until your forehead lightly bumps against his, “I love you.” He whispers, “I never stopped loving you. Even when I could barely remember anything, I still remembered your smile and the smell of your lotion and the feel of your skin under my fingers.”
“Charmer.” You whisper.
“Mean every word.” Echo whispers right back, and then he tugs you once more and catches your lips in a kiss that’s soft and loving enough that it nearly brings you to tears.
You have your Echo back. He might look a little different, but he’s here and it’s all you’ve ever wanted.

Hugging the clones for comfort headcanons: The 501st
(With a hint of gray and orange ;) )
Tumblr media
Captain Rex
The first time you hug him, he doesn't know what's happening, so it's like hugging a plank 💀
However once you explain to him what you're doing he relaxes into it and starts hugging you back, albeitly hesitantly.
It'll take a couple tries for him to get comfortable with it, but he's holding     you gently and providing you with the comfort you need before you know it!
Once he's used to it, whenever you come and hug him without a word he'll stop everything he's doing to hold you until you feel better.
He's a big fan of forehead kisses, it makes him feel tall :')
Tumblr media
Fives
This man is a cuddle bug, once you're hugged him you're done for.
Fives is down for hugs anytime, anywhere. He's not really afraid of PDA, whether it's romantic or platonic. He wants to be able to help in whichever way he can, so bad jokes usually come with the hug.
He's so touch-deprived please hold him it makes him so happy
Once he's comfortable enough he'll start initiating the hugs, he likes to sneak up on you from behind and surprise you with a sneak hug >:D
He's quite a cuddle bug during movies on a couch beneath a blanket with a bowl of popcorn, movie nights are definitely the best with this guy!
Tumblr media
Echo
Echo can be a bit shy, so the first time you hug him his face is definitely     lighting up like fireworks!
After you pull back he'll just stare in disbelief and ask you, what was that? Once you explain it to him however he calms down and understands a lot better.
Echo is the kind of guy who will guide you through things if you're in need of comfort. He'll pat your back and talk to you gently, asking you if you're    all right. He's the best person to go to if you need to calm down.
Even if he gets used to it Echo blushes a bit everytime you hug him, not being used to this kind of touch. It's actually pretty cute :')
With time he'll relax into the hug and hold you gently in his arms, against his chest so you can feel safe and comforted. He'll lean his chin on top of  your head sometimes, wrapping you in his body.
Tumblr media
Jesse
Jesse is one of the guys who's coolest with the whole 'hug out of nowhere' thing, freezing at first before he just quirks a brow and chuckles at you.
He'll joke at first to wave off his surprise, but then get more serious and hold you gently as he asks you if you're all right.
Jesse is a pretty good listener, so he can offer an ear for you or just stand  there and hug in silence if that's what you need. He's also always got a     joke up his sleeve should you need it.
You can honestly walk up to Jesse anytime for a hug, he'll always be happy to hug it out, even in front of his brothers. Although he may brag about it to them
He's a big fan of holding you in his lap as he hugs you against his chest.
Tumblr media
Hardcase
We all know Hardcase can never sit still, but when you hug him? Not one movement from him. It's like a puppy standing at attention after seeing a squirrel.
He'll fumble with his words a bit as he tries to comprehend what's happening, but if you're able to soothe him or ask him to just hold you for a minute he'll go quiet and hug you as long as he needs.
If you hug him too long he'll start fidgetting because of his hyperactivity,     which is always a good way to get a laugh out of you. If you call him out     about it he'll become flustered and frustrated that he can't keep still.
Hardcase's hugs are warm and tight. He's surprisingly okay with touch, and his hugs are some of the most satisfying you can get.
The best way to get him to stop fidgetting around is to surprise him with a  kiss on the cheek ;)
Tumblr media
Kix
As a medic, Kix has the care and well-being of others at heart. So if you come to him for a hug seeking comfort, even if he's not familiar with these... methods, he'll be happy to oblige.
Kix is someone you can come back to for hugs whenever you need them. He'll hold you silently as you calm down before asking you what happened.
His patience shows in his hug, as he'll hold you gently and won't pull you  back until you do or ask him to. There's no rush in his movements, and he commits his full attention to you as long as you need.
At the end of the hug, Kix will give you things like meds or sweets, whatever you need to be feel better.
After some time your hugs grow off him and he starts asking you for them as well! It helps with the stress from his job as a medic. He loves it when    you hide your face in his shoulder and he can tuck a hand behind your head and stroke your hair.
Tumblr media
Tup
Along with Rex, Tup is definitely one of the more awkward clones from the 501st with hugs. He'll just freeze and stand there as you hug him, heart     pounding in his chest.
He'll definitely need explanations to understand what happened, but once he does he's surprisingly kind and understanding about it. Although he's a bit awkward with the gesture, he'll never deny you and will pat your back    until you calm down.
Tup is the kind of guy who'll stick around with you after the hug to make sure you're all right. He's quite caring in that quiet way of his, his eyes     holding worry even when you reassure him you're fine.
Tup is more than happy to go to a coffee shop or park with you afterwards! Although he may not say it out loud he enjoys spending time with you outside a military context and in these moments he'll open up to you a bit more.
He secretly loves it when you lean his head on his shoulder :')
Tumblr media
Commander Cody
Being a commander, Cody has experience with people dealing with stress and even breakdowns, so he's not exactly a stranger to comforting people.
Even if he is initially taken off-guard by your hug, he'll ease into it a lot     faster than you might expect and return the hug. "All right, all right. Easy there..."
He's calm and patient the entire time, easing you with soft words of     encouragement and holding you gently. He won't rush you, pulling back only once you've calmed down.
He'll sit down with you and talk once you're feeling better if you'd like. He's one of the most sympathetic and understanding clones in the lot when it     comes to this things, and there's no truly no shame to be felt about your     moment of vulnerability around Cody.
If hugging becomes a regular thing, you'll quickly notice he has a knack for securing his arms around your waists and hips ;)
Tumblr media
Commander Wolffe
Wolffe may seem difficult to approach and like the last person who would return a hug, but... Well. You're in for one hell of a surprise.
He'll grumble about it at first, but it doesn't take long before he wraps an     arms around you and holds you against his side, glaring at your     surroundings protectively (which effectively scares most living beings in     the proximity away).
Although he may come off as grumpy about it, Wolffe does ask if you're doing okay and will demand you come back to him if something ever happens. He's pretty protective like that!
It doesn't take you long to realize that the grumbling is actually all a     cover-up to hide the fact that Wolffe is a huge cuddle bug.
When it's just the two of you off-duty he can't keep his hands off you and wraps around you like a cocoon. If you poke at him too much about it he'll just grumble and hide his face in your hair :')
Hope you guys enjoyed! Let me know which headcanon was your favourite 💖

Kibo and Kisses
Taking a breather on a remote planet after working yet another job for Cid, Echo steals away with you for a moment.
Pairing: Echo x f!reader
Word count: 3.3k
Warnings: cuteness, sweetness, fluff, Echo is self-conscious but we love him, eavesdropping brothers, idiots in love, first kiss, pet names/nicknames, brief mention of Fives (who else was Echo going to learn some moves from?)
Translations: Uj’ika – kinda like ‘cupcake’
Tumblr media
He was sweet behind all the gruffness and bad puns. If anything, it just added to his charm. War changed many men, and being kept prisoner, body altered without consent, and mind used to defeat your brethren? Yeah, that would undoubtedly change a man.
You wouldn’t think it, though, watching Echo listen intently to Omega’s story, laughing at the right moments and nodding to encourage her to continue. She only had a handful of stories, late-night tales Nala Se used to tell her back on Kamino, but she could remember them like the back of her hand, and once she grew tired of the boy’s war stories and the ones about your childhood, she would share hers.
You’d lost track of how long you’d been roaming the galaxy with Omega and the boys. Cid had insisted you accompany them on a mission, and that mission rolled to two and then to three…
Shaking your head fondly, a sigh slipped from between your lips. The Trandoshan had given you such a sly smile when she’d shoved you onto a ship with four charming men and a cute kid.
“He’s not going to disappear, you know.” Warmth blossomed in your chest as Hunter sat next to you on the crudely made wooden bench you’d fashioned shortly after landing two rotations ago on Yavin 4. While the boys had armour to protect their behinds from the damp grass, you and Omega didn’t have that luxury.
“Don’t know what you mean.” You lied, tilting your head to meet the Sergeant’s gaze, squinting a little as the setting sun dared to blind you.
“Mhm.” The corners of Hunter’s lips quirked up in amusement, but he refrained from pushing his point too far. Watching you moon over his brother from afar was adorable and frustrating that you were too stubborn and anxious to do anything about it. “What story is Omega telling this time?” He switched topics, noting how the tension melted slightly from your shoulders.
“You’re the one with the enhanced hearing, you tell me.” You rocked to the side, lightly nudging Hunter’s arm with your shoulder. You’d grown up with a brother, and though the war had taken him from you, it had also graced you with a few new ones.
Turning your gaze back to Echo and Omega, you waited as Hunter tuned in to their conversation. At first, his ability to eavesdrop from afar had caught you off guard, forcing you to switch to your mother tongue when quietly cussing anyone on the ship out. Still, you found amusement in using it to your advantage, twisting Hunter’s arm until he would eavesdrop on gossiping women in marketplaces or creepy men with lousy pick-up lines in cantinas.
“It’s not a Nala Se special.” He admitted, eyebrows rising closer to his hairline as Echo’s laughter filled the tiny clearing Tech had set the Marauder down in. “Did you tell someone that you prefer they take you for dinner before calling you names?”
The colour drained from your face, and your jaw slackened. “Oh no.” You squeaked, wide eyes watching the way Echo’s whole frame shook with laughter, while Omega grinned, oblivious to the true meaning behind the comeback you’d snapped at the rude market attendant the last time you’d touched down for supplies.
Turning your gaze to Hunter, his thinly veiled amusement had you stammering out an explanation. “A- A fruit vendor wasn’t looking where he was going. He walked into us. His goods went everywhere. He called me some choice names; I told him I preferred dinner beforehand – it slipped out before I could stop it. Oh, Maker, you think Omega knows what I meant?”
Allowing himself to chuckle at the horror on your face, Hunter stood, bringing a large hand down to land on your shoulder. “I hope not but try not to make such comments around the innocent child next time. I don’t think any of us are ready to have that talk with her yet.” He shook his head in disbelief, smile firmly in place as he retreated onto the ship.
“Omega.” You called out, desperately hoping to stop her from telling any more stories before she embarrassed you further.
Your voice drew the young girl’s attention, and with a quick wave of your hand, she came racing across the clearing, stopping right in front of you. Echo trailed behind her, his pace much more languid. “What is it?” Omega offered you a sweet smile, rocking on the spot with her hands locked behind her back.
“It’s getting dark, and we should head inside.” You gestured to the setting sun, which had dropped a little further towards the horizon since you’d first sat down to watch Omega and Echo.
Frowning, the young clone glared at the sun before returning her smile to you. “But you and Echo are out here with me.” She retorted, tampering down her grin as she watched Echo sit beside you on the bench, his knee lightly knocking against yours.
Grateful he couldn’t hear your heart hammering away at the physical contact, you bit down on the inside of your lip. “I know, but it’s bedtime.” You insisted. You tried to keep a routine for her, conscious that she was young and growing. Omega never skipped a meal, even if it meant you did on the quiet, and where possible, she got eight hours of sleep.
“I’m not tired.” Omega’s smile turned to a pout. She wasn’t ready for the evening to end.
“It’s been a long day. You’ll fall asleep as soon as you’re in bed and have Lula.” Echo chimed in, catching how your shoulders relaxed as he took the reins. He enjoyed that you mothered Omega, offering her one of the things that they had been deprived of. But he also knew how difficult it could be, especially when the child in question wasn’t your own. There were invisible boundaries to negotiate and rules to establish, but whenever he felt you might need a helping hand, he was more than willing to step up. Sometimes, it was good to remind himself that Omega was still a child, even if she was older than him and his brothers.
Shooting Echo a thankful smile, you returned your focus to the quiet girl before you. She looked to be contemplating Echo’s words. It was time for the big guns. “Besides, you’ll need plenty of energy if we’re going to track down a Ysalamiri tomorrow.”
Omega’s face lit up brighter than the suns of Tatooine. “We’re going to go and find one?” She gasped. When you’d landed, Tech had pulled out his datapad to research the planet. He’d found a list of native plants and animals, pointing out which ones to avoid. Omega had caught sight of the Ysalamiri and loved the non-threatening, furry creatures.
“Yep, so you’ll need your sleep. They’re fast and live in the trees, so we might need to do some climbing.” You explained, silently praying Hunter wasn’t actively listening to the conversation. He would have a fit if he knew you’d scramble amongst the branches, but it was part of a normal childhood.
“Will you come too, Echo?” Omega swung her wide gaze to her brother, pleading for him to join them.
Eyes widening as he was put on the spot, Echo stalled for a moment. He’d told Tech that he would help him perform maintenance on the ship in the morning, but was he about to give up the chance to explore with you? “Sure.” He decided, knowing he’d have to break the news to Tech. His brother could maintain the ship alone, but Echo didn’t want him to bear the weight alone. “I’d be more than happy to escort my favourite girls.” It slipped out before he could stop it, and he studiously kept his eyes on Omega, ignoring the weight of your soft gaze on his profile.
“I’ll go to bed then.” Omega declared, conceding with a grin that had you narrowing your eyes in her direction. What was going on in that young girl’s mind?
Opening his arms, Echo accepted Omega’s goodnight hug. It had taken a short while for him to grow accustomed to the action – a shoulder thump was the usual level of affection his brothers gave, and he was conscious that his cybernetics made everything uncomfortable and awkward. Sometimes he wondered if he could swap his scomp out for a proper arm and hand, but they didn’t have the credits or time to purchase and make such adjustments.
Omega threw herself into your arms after hugging her brother, giving you a tight squeeze before she bounded into the Marauder, leaving you with Echo.
“If you’d rather have a girl’s day tomorrow, that’s okay. I know you and Omega enjoy your time together.” Echo broke the momentary silence. As much as he wanted, no yearned, to join you tomorrow, he would respect your decision. You and Omega didn’t get much time to explore marketplaces or local fairgrounds together, and he would hate to take that from you.
“I’d love for you to come with us.” You stated, reaching up to tuck an errant strand of hair behind your ear.
Echo wasn’t entirely convinced. “You sure?” He gave you one last out. “Feels like you haven’t wanted to be around me lately. You left the cockpit quickly the other day when we swapped watch.” He added dejectedly, shrugging his shoulders as if he didn’t care.
Your heart ached, and your mind berated you. You’d just wanted a little space to determine whether your adoration for the man at your side was genuine or forged because you lived in each other’s pockets. Some hypothetical questions had been posed to Tech, your confidence in the man’s research capabilities unquestionable, and done a lot of soul searching.
Reaching out for him, your hand found purchase on his scomp, and though he couldn’t feel anything from the rigid metal, you still gave him a gentle squeeze. “Ecks.” The nickname slipped out quickly as you scooted closer, registering the flicker of surprise across his face at the new name. “I’m sorry, I’ve had much on my mind lately. You didn’t do or say anything wrong; it was just me getting stuck in my head.” You explained. “Of course, I want to be around you, and I’d love for you to come with us tomorrow.”
The frown creasing Echo’s brow disappeared at your reassurance, but your words kept playing over in his mind. What have you been thinking about? Could he help ease the weight of it, if only for a little while? “You should probably rest too then, uj’ika, if we’re to keep up with Omega. And don’t tell me you’re not tired. You yawned twice when Hunter was handing out rations.” Echo chided. You might’ve thought you were being subtle, but from the vantage point of his bunk, Echo could see the faint glow of your datapad screen each night as you stayed up late.
The term of endearment made you smile, but you were still none the wiser about the meaning. The first time Echo had used it, Wrecker had given a hearty chuckle, Hunter and Tech shooting you amused smiles before glancing at each other – communicating in that silent way only the Batch boys could. With Hunter’s words from earlier playing through your mind, you took a small leap of faith. “I should, but I was thinking about going for a small walk – want to join me?” You offered, rising to your feet and offering the sweet man before you your hand.
Echo hesitated. He wanted to go with you, Maker, he did, but he was supposed to be on watch with Tech. “Go.” Tech’s voice clipped through his cybernetic headpiece, and Echo gladly placed his hand in your own, rising to his feet as he watched the momentary confusion marring your features smooth into a beautiful smile.
Tinkering with the ship’s engine, Tech had heard the entire exchange between you and his vod. It took only two taps on his vambrace to isolate Echo’s comms and deliver the instruction. While some assistance would’ve been helpful, and another set of eyes for the watch was optimal, ensuring his brother’s happiness was back on track and your anxiety levels lowered would be better for the group.
Letting you lead, Echo savoured the warmth of your hand in his, the way your fingers curled to grasp him tightly, and how you brought your other hand over to clutch at his forearm, suffocating all space between you. Fleetingly, he was grateful that you’d grabbed hold of his arm and not his scomp. “We shouldn’t go too far; we have no idea what could be out here.” He warned as you approached the edge of the clearing.
Shoulders shaking with your small laugh, you turned to stand in front of Echo, letting go of his forearm in the process. “You’re right, but I know I’m safe with you.” There had been some close calls over the last few missions, but Echo had been behind you, blaster in hand. He always had your back.
The softness of your words and the way you smiled at him took everything for Echo not to stride forward and steal his first kiss. Were you even aware of the effect you had on him? How his heart raced, and how he sometimes struggled to find the right words? “Always.” He vowed. His body had been through plenty. What was another blaster shot if it meant keeping you safe?
The distant look was back in Echo’s eyes; the one you knew meant he was lost in thought. “Come on.” You gently prompted, moving to his right to loop your arm through his, fingers resting on his scomp.
“The other side would be comfier for you.” Echo swallowed, highly aware of how unforgiving his altered arm was. His first few weeks with the Batch had been spent relearning how to fight, sleep comfortably, eat, and wash himself. He’d sometimes wondered if it would be easier not to have the scomp.
Shrugging, you lightly pulled him forward, starting your journey into the tree line. “I like this side too.” You reassured him. “I like all of you.” You took a leap, throwing the comment out into the open, avoiding Echo’s gaze as you moved nimbly through the woods, avoiding the mighty trees that stretched up to the sky. At the same time, the crisp crunch of fallen leaves and the sweet music of local birds provided a beautiful soundtrack.
“You do?” Echo blinked in surprise, lips parting as your words settled in his mind. Your hum of affirmation as you released his scomp to jump across a small creek made him grin. “Well, it’s mutual.” He offered, reaching up to rub at the back of his head.
Giggling, you turned back around to face Echo, but your smile faltered when you caught sight of something above him, eyes widening as you gasped.
Watching your expression change, the galaxy slowed for a moment as Echo reflexively pulled his blaster from its holster, finger on the trigger as he aimed it upwards in the direction you were looking. His body tensed, every nerve on high alert, ready to take down whatever was up there and protect you. But while scanning the branches, leaves, and colourful flowers, he found no danger, no noise of a droid or person, or even an animal beyond the melodic bird song – was there something he couldn’t see?
“Uj’ika…” Echo searched for an answer.
Returning your gaze to Echo, you hopped back across the creek, reaching out a hand to take his arm and slowly lower it, along with his blaster. “It’s okay, there’s no danger.” You explained quietly. “I’m sorry I spooked you.” You apologised, watching as he slid his blaster back into its holster, questioning brown eyes turning in your direction.
“It’s a Kibo.” You whispered, awe lacing your voice as the softest smile crossed your features. “The purple flowers. They’re so rare, Ecks. I never thought I’d see one in person.”
Flowers. You were in awe of rare flowers. And he’d nearly shot them. “Are they going to eat us?” Echo asked, fingers twitching near his blaster. He tried to ignore how his heart clenched again at the nickname, warmth daring to seep through the few bones he had left.
Laughter bubbled forward, and you raised a hand to cover your mouth. “No, they won’t eat us.” Your laughter tapered out as you watched Echo relax.
Reassured, Echo could now ask his next question. “Why are they rare?”
“The seeds of the Kibo can restore sight. They’re prized for it. Healers and medics have searched for and taken them, so few are left.” You explained, moving closer for a better look at the flowers.
“Can they restore anything else?” Echo questioned, admiring the delicate blooms.
“I’m not sure. All that’s been documented is how they can literally and metaphorically restore a person’s vision, allowing them to see what’s right in front of them.” You shrugged, head tilting towards the flowers, watching the petals shift in the light breeze. You couldn’t believe you’d finally seen them – and out in the wild, too!
Echo couldn’t help but watch you, the awe on your face exquisite. Swallowing thickly, tendrils of fear try to creep down his spine, but he pushes them aside and reaches out with his hand. Sliding it across your cheek, he tilted your head towards him. “I don’t need a flower to let me see how beautiful you are.” He whispered, silently praying the years of watching his twin compliment women would pay off.
Surprised, your lips parted, eyes widening at the compliment and physical contact. Warmth seeped through your body. Was he flirting?
Emboldened by the fact you hadn’t reacted badly, Echo slipped his scomp around your waist and pulled you close. He had the opportunity, and he wasn’t going to waste it.
Your breath caught in your throat, your heart pounding with anticipation. A soft, nervous smile formed on your lips and Echo’s eyes dropped to them – it was all the warning you got before he leaned in and closed the distance.
His lips met yours in a soft, gentle kiss, like the brush of a feather against the skin. It was sweet and tentative, filled with all the unspoken feelings you’d both been withholding since you’d joined the squad. The world seemed to stand still as you savoured the sensation, lips lingering against each other’s.
You pulled back slightly, breaking the kiss, and your eyes opened to find Echo gazing at you with warmth and affection. Your bodies pressed together, heart racing.
You watched as a glint of something crossed his eyes, and with light steps, he guided you backwards, pressing you against the trunk of a nearby tree. His lips found your throat, and he peppered kisses across it, pulling a gasp from you.
His hand gripped your waist, keeping you close. You were still out in the open on an unfamiliar planet, and your safety was his priority. More kisses were left up your throat until he pressed his lips to yours once again. There was a little heat behind this one, making your insides turn to mush as Echo’s fingers grasped at you tightly.
He pulled back after a moment, resting his forehead on yours while you caught your breaths. The soft sound of the wind rustling the trees filtered back into your mind, along with the chirp of forest creatures.
“Maker, I’ve wanted to do that for so long,” Echo whispered, nervousness settling in.
You chuckled, a smile breaking out on your face. “Me too.” You admitted, sliding a hand to the nape of his neck, careful not to snag his cybernetic headpiece. “I think we should do it again.” You whispered.
As Echo’s eyes snapped open, you were no longer unsure what their glint meant. Those soft lips you’d just kissed curved into a wicked smile. “Yes, ma’am.”

Thank you and congrats again, you are AMAZING!!
Thankuuuu!! Oml as soon as I checked which prompt this was I started getting ideas!
Prompt is: Writing little notes on post-its and leaving them in random places to read.
270 follower celebration og post
Warnings: none. Echo being a cute lil shit from across the galaxy. Reader works at Cid’s tavern
Flimsi love notes (Tbb!Echo x Reader)
The first one you found was in your apron. His Aurabesh might have been a little screwed since his left hand wasn’t his dominant, but you could read Echo’s handwriting anywhere.
“If you’re reading this I’m probably thinking of you cyare. Love you and be safe. I’ll be back soon.”
Ever since the Bad Batch had stumbled into Cid’s tavern, you’d had your eye on him. To this day he couldn’t understand why out of every member of the batch you chose him, but hey. He couldn’t complain.
There would always be one where he knew you’d see it every time he was away. Sometimes they would be tucked behind the mirror in your ‘fresher, other times in your bag, or under your pillow where he knew you’d slide your hand before you went to sleep.
Cid’s growl came from across the room.
“Hey laser brain! Bar needs to be cleaned off. There’s another note over here for ya. You kriffing lovebirds are going to be the death of me.”
You sighed and picked up the washrag, only stopping to take a peek at the aforementioned note.
“How’s my Mesh’la doing today, huh? Call me later tonight.”
Maker, this man might not be perfect, but he was certainly trying. You finished your shift at the bar and walked home, anticipating to hear his voice after a long day. You dropped your bag at the door and flopped down on the bed, pulling out your comm.
“Mesh’la?” He answered. You smiled at the warmth in his voice.
“I got your note, Echo. You are the sweetest.”
He laughed, voice low and raspy. “I try my best. How was your day?”
“Long and boring. I’m about ready to quit and demand that Hunter let me join you guys.”
“That wouldn’t be a bad idea, but some training would be needed.”
“Well lucky me I’ve got one of the best ARC troopers for a boyfriend.”
“I’m the only ARC trooper you know, Mesh’la.”
“And you’re the best in my book.”
“Can you do something for me really quick?”
Your eyebrows scrunched. “Sure?”
“Unlock your door.”
You didn’t move. “What?”
“Unlock the door!”
Something clicked in your head and you scrambled off of the bed to your front door. Throwing it open, you practically burst with happiness when you saw him.
“ECHO!” You screeched, throwing yourself into his arms. He laughed lightly. “We got done early. Figured you could use another surprise to keep you on your toes.”
“I’ve come to expect anything and everything from you, Echo.” You mumbled into his shoulder. “Just never know what’s next.”
He pressed a kiss to your temple and nuzzled his nose in your hair.
“Love you Mesh’la. So much.”
You tighten your arms around him. “Love you too, Echo. Even more.”

Notes: No warnings, sick child, discussion of death, female reader. The Pergil lullaby is from @marierg. Not beta read, I wrote half of this in a fitful haze as soon as I got this ask, promptly lost it all by hitting the wrong button and couldn't recover it, and then re-wrote it in an even sleepier, more fitful haze. You shifted your hold on your toddler to keep him from slipping out of your arms, gently bouncing him as he cried, hoping it would help him go back to sleep. It had been two days without sleep, so you were willing to try anything
"Oh baby pergil, little baby pergil, flying through the sky..." You murmured beneath your breath. This was your fifth time singing through the song, but it seemed to be working,
And then your comm began to glow with an impending message.
It was one in the morning, but you were too tired to wonder who could be calling you at this hour. Plus, you could use the distraction.
"H'lo?" You asked.
"Are you sitting down?" It was Kix. Dr. "Medical comes before sleep", who would turn right around and scold you for not getting what sleep you could get with a baby.
Fives was starting to fuss, now that you weren't serenading him. "I can't, I just got Iv'ika to calm down, and if I sit down it'll make it worse."
"Look, I've got something important to tell you, and I really think that you should sit down before-"
"Is someone dead or dying?" You asked.
"For once, no," Kix laughed half-heartedly, "Are you sitting-"
"Are you gonna tell me whatever this is or not?"
There was a beat of silence on the other end of the comm.
"We found Echo."
Your stomach twisted, pushing everything out f your stomach and up your throat, threatening to make you vomit.
"Don't- don't- don't you dare joke about that," You snapped. The sudden sharpness in your tone made Fives cry out.
"I'm not joking, look-"
"Did Jesse put you up to this?" You demanded as your eyes began to sting with more than just the lack of sleep, "Tell him he's a mir'sheb-"
"Jesse doesn't even know yet! Rex told me to-"
"You're all a bunch of miserable old men, and I never want to speak to any of you ever again."
You hung up before Kix could hear you sob. Fives was already crying, and you had to be strong for him, like you had for his whole life.
You held your son tightly, caressing his sweaty hair while you focused on singing lullabies, not about the dead father of your child. In your hand, your comm kept buzzing as Kix and even Jesse tried to call you back. Until finally, you blocked them, and Rex too for good measure, not even bothering to read the messages they tried to send you.
Fives fell asleep about an hour later, and you pondered your reaction.
Rex and Kix weren't the type to play pranks in the middle of the night, and Jesse might have been a bit of an arse, but he wouldn't prank you like this, would he? Not even Fives would have gone that far, especially not when it came to the life of a beloved brother.
Could Echo really be alive?
You'd have to worry about that later. Fives was asleep, and you had work in a couple hours. You had to try and get some sleep while the opportunity was fresh.
Tumblr media
Your woke to the smell of your mother making breakfast. She immediately came in and took Fives from your arms, cooing to her grandson while she changed his diaper. You took a quick shower and smeared on some makeup to cover the dark circles under your eyes. When you stepped out of the refresher to get dressed, your mother was singing one of the lullabies she always used to sing to you.
"I think his fever's broken," She smiled at you, and you felt a bit of the huge weight lifted off your shoulders.
"Be good for Nana, okay?" You told Fives. He was a bit fussy, but nowhere near how he was last night. You could breathe easy at the office, even though you were almost late, and let yourself focus on fielding calls from agitated customers and filling out the proper files for each complaint.
You were still exhausted, though, so as you made a fresh pot of caff your mind wandered back to Kix's comm last night. You should really just apologize to him, but you felt so embarrassed. Ever since Echo died, the boys of the 501st had been there for you. Holding your hair back while you threw up from morning sickness and learning how to cook so that you could nap and have a proper meal when you woke up. In the end, pride kept you from unblocking them then and there, but as you made your way back to your desk with a cup of caff, your mother commed you.
"Mom, is everything okay?"
"Honey, there's a group of clones here to see you. lots of them."
A shiver ran through you and you groaned. You were gonna get an earful from all of them, weren't you.
"Tell them I'm on my way. I'll be there in a minute."
"Do I have to let them in?"
You paused. Your mom could be blunt from time to time. She was a wonderful mother and an even better grandmother, but she still wasn't used to the idea that you'd had a child with a clone. Having been a single mother herself, she got protective real fast. It was probably best that they stayed outside.
You apologized profusely to your boss for leaving early, and ended up playing the desperate single mother card. The sloppy makeup job and the faint perfume of sick baby that was following you everywhere as of late certainly helped sell the act.
When you got to your apartment, Rex, Kix, and Jesse were waiting, along with six other troopers. Four of them wore dark gray armor, while two had armor that was more white like the standard trooper armor.
One of those troopers looked at you with wide eyes, and you couldn't blame him. You had to look as much like a ghost as he did. He had the same nose shape and facial structure as all the other clones, but he was incredibly emaciated and pale. His white armor looked to be the kind that they gave civilians in the field, and it was clearly padded out in some places to help him fill out the bodysuit.
"Did you have to bring everyone and scare my mom half to death?" You sighed to Rex.
"Hey, they insisted," Jesse waved to the squad of new troopers dismissively and held out his arms for a hug. Given everything that had happened in the last few days, you accepted the comforting embrace without question.
"We tried comming you to tell you we were coming, but for some reason our messages won't go through," Rex placed his hand on his hip, all business.
You folded your arms and glared at Kix. "That'll happen when you call someone at midnight to pull their leg."
"I wasn't pulling your leg!" Kix sighed in exasperation and grabbed the emaciated trooper's arm, pulling him to stand in front of you.
You took a step back, "Um, hi?"
"Hi," He said softly. He coughed to clear his throat and repeated the greeting in a firmer tone.
"Well, what do you want?" You asked, oblivious to the revelation that was right in front of you.
Rex sighed, "You'll remember Echo, right?"
You stopped. you looked the emaciated trooper up and down, but refused to look him in the eyes.
"Rex," You took a deep breath, "Please don't do this to me. Not today-"
"But it's him!" Jesse exclaimed, "We found him and rescued him on Anaxes!"
"We?" One of the dark-armored troopers demanded, flicking a toothpick at Jesse.
"Well it's easier than explaining ev- Is it really so hard to believe that after everything karked-up that's happened to us, something good might have actually happened?"
"Boys," Rex said sharply. He nodded down the hall, and most of your little group ambled off to give you some distance.
"Cyare..." The trooper who everyone said was Echo reached out his right hand towards you, then returned it to his side. It wasn't much of a hand anymore, there was a scomplink attachment in its place.
"Cyar'ika, you're trembling," He noticed, a hint of terror in his voice. You kept your eyes on the floor. He was one to speak, how could he even stand on those wobbling legs?
His helmet fell on the floor as his left hand--still a hand--came up to cradle your cheek, wiping away a single tear.
Don't cry, you told yourself, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry.
With that tender touch, you finally allowed yourself to look him in the eyes.
A million men had the same brown eyes as Echo, but none of them shone when they looked at you like Echo's did.
"Prove it. Tell me something I've never told anyone el-"
"You talk in your sleep. It's probably because you need a cup of tea before you go to bed."
Your breath caught in your throat.
"I wanted to name our son after Fives, but you said he'd get to big a head about it."
You managed a laugh, "He did get a big head about it."
Echo chuckled, and the scomp on his right arm rested against your arm as he pulled you closer.
"I told you I wanted to marry you as soon as the war was over, and you tried to convince me to move it up until after my last mission."
You gasped out a sob, wiping your runny nose on the sleeve of your blouse. Echo wrapped his arms around you, and you pulled him even closer.
"So you really named him after Fives?" Echo gasped, pressing kisses to the crown of your head.
You squeezed him as tightly as you dared. When you hugged him before he left for the citadel, Your arms almost couldn't make their way around him. Now you feared that if you held him the wrong way, he'd snap like a twig.
"It was what you wanted, what else was I supposed to name him?"
Echo took your chin in his hand, fiercely pressing a kiss to your lips. You could feel a year and a half's worth of loneliness and longing behind the passion in that kiss. All the fear, pain, and isolation the both of you had felt without each other. You almost couldn't bring yourself to stop kissing him. If you stopped kissing him you thought you might wake up in the middle of the night with your crying baby on your chest.
"I want to meet him," Echo said in between kisses.
Your heart fluttered. Echo was going to meet his son. Fives was finally going to meet his dad.
"Yes, yes," You gasped, and grasped his hand, pulling him into your apartment. It was almost exactly the same as the last time he'd been there, with the exception of all the baby toys strewn about and the holos of you and Fives hanging on the wall.
Your mother was in the kitchen, spatula in hand, making dinner and watching the door at the same time.
"Where's Fives?" You asked her.
"He's asleep, but-"
You ignored her protests and brought Echo into your room.
Fives was just waking up when you opened the door. He'd lost his pacifier while tossing and turning, but that allowed Echo's first view of his son to be the big, wide-toothed smile he gave you.
"Hello precious boy!" You swooped across the room and swept him into your arms. He had a bit of a cowlick from the way he'd slept, and you tried to smooth it back, but it didn't do much.
"Fiv'ika, there's someone you need to meet," You whispered calmly, "Can you be a good boy for mama?"
Fives didn't say anything, but he buried his face into your neck, cooing softly.
You brought him over to Echo, who stood in the bedroom doorway, spellbound at the sight of the two of you. You had never been able to see how Little Fives' eyes looked exactly like Echo's, but now that you had them next to each other, the likeness was unmistakable.
"I...I don't know if I can hold him," Echo held out his arms. You could see his heart, struggling not to break as he watched you cuddle your son. Your son. Yours and Echo's. A proper family now.
"Sit on the bed," you nodded. Echo did so, and you pushed him back against the pillows so that you could lay Fives on his chest.
Fives blinked his dark brown eyes at Echo, drinking in the not-so-stranger's face. Echo stayed as still as possible, like a sniper in wait. The baby wasn't as heavy as he expected, and he was scared to hurt him. His hands were made for combat and firing weapons, no for child rearing.
Fives' head dropped suddenly, his forehead smacking against Echo's collarbone.
"Yow!" Echo gasped in surprise, but Fives wasn't upset. He rubbed his face against Echo's neck, just like he had with you.
"He likes you," You said, lying next to Echo. You placed your hand on his upper arm and squeezed.
"He likes me?" Echo asked.
"He does," You whispered, tears brimming in your eyes, "And guess what?"
"What?" there was a hint of fear in Echo's voice. Today had already been a very long day for the both of you.
You rested your head on Echo's shoulder, close enough that you could press a kiss to Fives' dark curls.
"I like you too."

-----------------------
It was late aboard the Resolute and it was quiet in the medbay where you were currently organizing the new supplies that had just arrived.
The medbay was mostly empty of troopers and those that were there were sleeping soundly in the back of the large room. So you took the peace and quiet for what it was and enjoyed the time to yourself. You listened to the soft sounds of the machines and the hum of the ship beneath your feet as you counted out the supplies and marked it on the datapad beside you.
You were halfway through the crate of bandages when the door to the medbay opened. You turned in time to see Echo walk in, his hands clasped behind his back. It was a surprise to see him, especially this late, but he was your closest friend. It had been an easy transition for the two of you to go from acquaintances to best friends, in fact, it was the easiest thing in the world.
Echo was everything to you. And you were pretty sure he felt the same way about you.
A smile spread across your face as he approached. “Hey, what are you doing here?”
Echo shrugged. “I figured I’d find you here. Are you ever going to say no to a nightshift?”
You chuckled lightly. “They aren’t my favorite, but I’m not going to turn someone down if they ask to switch shifts. Anything I can help you with? You don’t look injured.”
“Oh no, I’m fine.” Echo said. “But I do have a reason for stopping by. Do you know what time it is?”
Your eyes narrowed as you turned and looked at the chronometer on the wall. “Uhh, it’s just after one. Why? Have I missed something?”
Echo looked smug as he smiled softly before shifting his hands from behind it back to reveal a small pastry with a single candle on top.
“Echo, what is this?”
He chuckled. “Only you would be so focused that you forget your own birthday.”
Realization dawned on you as you let out a sigh that turned into a laugh. “Only you would remember my birthday when I totally forgot. Thank you.”
He shook his head before pulling out a small lighter and lighting the candle. “Just blow out the candle and make a wish.”
You gave him another look before closing your eyes, a wish finding its way into your mind before you released it to the galaxy, hoping that maybe it’ll come true. Your eyes opened and you leaned forward, quickly blowing out the candle.
Echo smiled at you and you felt your stomach twist as your face warmed, averting your eyes. “Here, let me clear this space and we can share that.”
“I got this for you. You don’t have to share it.” Echo protested and you gave him a shove as you quickly cleared off the small table in the medbay.
“I know. Which means I can share it with whoever I want.”
Echo let out a sigh, but didn’t protest further as he set the small pastry on the table. He pulled out the candle as you found two small forks that were wrapped in plastic from you and your fellow medic’s trip to the mess hall. You pulled out a chair, taking a seat as Echo did the same, setting down his helmet. You passed him a fork and he took it with a smile.
You placed a hand on his arm, giving it a squeeze. “Thank you Echo.”
He rested his hand on yours. “Happy Birthday, cyare.”
There were the warm fuzzies again. You gave him another smile before raising your fork in the air. Echo smiled back as he clinked his fork against yours.
The medbay was quiet around you, save for your quiet conversation with your heads ducked together. The pastry was delicious and Echo refused to give up how he’d managed to find it. But wherever it was, it was amazing and despite the late hour, it was probably the best birthday you’d ever had.

Open Up
Tumblr media
Pairing: Arc Trooper Echo x f!Reader Summary: Echo likes to take things slow and help really open you up.😈 Rating: EXPLICIT 18+ Warnings: Indulgent foreplay with dirty talk and praise and encouragement and sweetness because oh he missed you so💕, fingering, relationship-y? I guess?, he's just so fucking sweet. Word Count: 1k notes: I saw a thing and could not get said thing out of my head and totally imagined echo doing this because he's indulgent and reverent and giving and sexy and we need to all be obsessed with him bc hes adorable. ok thanks :) also I am well aware the gif is TBB echo not arc trooper echo but this gif was too perfect for the scenario so I HAD to.
“C’mon, my sweet girl, open up…let me see you.” Echo coaxed as his hands drew up the soft tops of your wide thighs. You kneeled before him on your bunk sheets, looking up at the unmistakable doting brown eyes of your beloved boyfriend.
His eyes were fixated elsewhere, nudging the hem of your pretty pink lace negligee up just enough to reveal your center. Gloved hands coursed over your dark bare skin, fingertips grazing down your lower belly and leaving goosebumps in their wake. Knowing him, he’d had only one thing on his mind since he’d landed back home for a few weeks, which meant he’d had a lot of time to think about exactly how he wanted you.
Parting your plush lips freshly bitten from passionate yet agonizingly slow kisses, you inhaled a soft gasp. His own drawing into a smug grin as he watched you react to his touch just as strongly as he’d imagined. You looked up at him through lust heavy lids and met his gaze, tracing down your own torso to outline the ghosts of his touches with your own.
“Oh…Echo-” you practically squeaked, flipping up the dainty fabric to reveal what was between your spread legs. With two deft fingers you eased your outer folds apart and let your hips roll forward enticingly to meet his touch.
“There she is…good girl. Missing me, huh? Need me to take care of you?” Echo muttered, his darkened pupils locked with yours as he slipped off his gloves. One roughened palm massaged your inner thigh, carefully holding you open. He tipped forward to lock his lips with yours just enough to leave you breathless as he let his fingertips drag down your center.
You hummed your soft approval into his kiss, holding yourself open just as his middle finger dipped into your heat. He groaned lowly, breaking away from your mouth to silently curse whatever cruel circumstances or stars or gods would ever have him apart from you. The drenched slick between your thighs coated his single digit as he dragged it reverently along the length of you.
“Oh yeah, you did. Such a good girl with this dripping little pussy. All just cause you missed me. Need me to come home and touch you like this always.” He whispered, slipping in a second finger and using both to glide around the fluttering hole desperate for his entry. You keened for more, letting your hips buck forward into him lazily.
You gripped his wrist with your other hand, urging him for more and riding his fingers needily. “Of course I.. m-missed you, baby. No one else gets to touch me like this. Only you. I need you. Need you m-more.” You whimpered, his gentle stroking along your slippery folds sending shivers down your spine.
“Awh, pretty baby, just a little more? You’re so fucking sweet. So beautiful opening up and letting me get such a good look at you.” He leaned back, brown eyes devouring the sight of you splayed out so salaciously before him. His gentle caresses quickened, twisting his wrist to allow his fingers to curve in and enter you abruptly.
You cried out sharply as his broad fingers breached your entrance and spread you apart on top of them. It took everything in your power not to snap your hips and ride his perfectly thick fingers the way he knew you wanted to. He craved patience, he wanted to take his time properly fucking the girl he loved and the faster you sped through it the sooner he’d be to leaving again.
“Thank you…baby. Love it just like this. Take your time. I want you to feel how much I miss you. How wet I get waiting for you to come help me. My Echo.” you moaned softly, earning another weighted groan from him.
His fingers curled into your front wall, making you buck your hips forward into his palm and brushing your clit just briefly. He chuckled with amusement, letting go of your other thigh to twist the width of his thumb in circles across your clit. You moaned louder, the twisting of his fingers inside combining with his featherlight touches on your clit bringing you rapidly close to your first orgasm.
“Needy little thing. Stars you’re so tight, so soaked for me. Body looks so fucking good in this too. I want to fuck you so bad, but i’m going to take my time. Going to make this last so you feel the ache of me for days. Would you like that? Want me to fuck you until you’re sore? Tell me, cyar’ika. Let me hear your pretty voice again.” Echo rambled when he was turned on, his brain emptying weeks worth of lewd thoughts to the one person he could indulge in whenever he wanted.
“Yes, Echo. Fuck me. Fuck me, please. I can’t wait any longer for your cock. Now, baby. Please.” You begged, unhinging out of desperation as his endless looping circles had you balanced precariously on the edge. The familiar sizzling that had your body beginning to overheat spread through your limbs, numbing you of any other feeling but his fingers inside you.
“Hmmm my impatient little cyar’ika. I can feel how close you are. You need to let go. Soak my fingers so you can be nice and ready for my cock. I know you can do it. Cum for me, gorgeous. Just for me.” He encouraged, leaning his forehead on yours to watch your face contort in pleasure as the wave finally sucked you under.
With a high pitched whimper you came, fluttering around two of his fingers plunging in and out of your entrance and making a smug, satisfied chuckle rumble deep in his broad chest. A giddy smile drew across his dark features and he’d barely let you catch your breath before he was slicking his cock up with your leaking cum and notching himself at your entrance. “That’s my pretty girl. You ready for more?”

(Clone Wars) You Give Him Something Handmade
(Rex, Cody, Fives, ARC Echo, Wolffe, Jesse, and Hardcase)
Rex: You catch him off-guard one day and offer him a handmade gift before he ships off to another mission, and for a split second, he just stares at it in surprise. You say it's for him, though part of you is still shy/embarrassed to give it to him.His voice gets quieter, almost breaking, as he replies, "for me?" He accepts the gift and slowly turns it over in his gloved hands, basically melting on the inside.  No one's ever given him a handmade gift before. Sure, he's received souvenirs from his brothers and a gag gift or two from General Skywalker, but never something like this. He's absolutely touched. Whether it's a sewn craft, drawing, carving, anything at all... If he can, he'll keep it with him no matter what.
Cody: He's not one to get choked up over things, even though on the inside, a handmade gift from you is taken very seriously. The gesture speaks to him about the nature of your feelings, and his love grows.  He’s appreciative of having something to hold onto when he’s away on campaigns and secret missions.  When he does return to you again, he’ll most likely have made a gift for you during his time away.  Your gift meant so much to him that he hoped to give back to you so that you’d have something to treasure when he has to go again.
Fives:  If you give him something handmade, he’s absolutely going to make a big deal out of it.  He’s so impressed with you for putting it together.  He turns it over and over with a smile on his face and gives compliments.  He might give you a kiss and utter in a low voice something like, “my girl is so talented.”  He just can’t get over the fact that you made something so cool, and it’s for him.  If it’s something wearable or small enough to take with him, you can bet he’ll have it on all the time.
ARC Echo: Receiving a handmade gift from you stuns him for a moment.  He accepts the gift almost in disbelief because it was the last thing he expected when you innocently asked him what his favorite color was.  He didn’t realize you’d make something for him.  He is touched at the time, effort, and thoughtfulness you put into the gift.  He’s very encouraging in your hobbies and talents, and it would make his day to get a gift like that from you.  You can count on a darling hug and kiss from him.
Jesse:  This guy plays it a little cool at first.  He is quite appreciative and his tone does get lighter when he thanks you for doing something so sweet before he goes on another mission.  It isn’t until he’s away that it really hits him.  He finds himself taking out the craft/gift and looking at it whenever he has a free moment and thinking of you.  He notes the details and how thoughtful it was for you to take the time to make it, and just for him.  It occurs to him that he hasn’t received anything like that before, which touches him deeper.  He’ll probably comm you or send a message later about the item and thank you again, telling you just how much it means to him.
Hardcase:  He is over the moon when you surprise him with a handmade gift.  He’ll be grinning from ear-to-ear as he looks at it and marvels aloud how cool it is, how it must have taken you forever, and how thankful he is that you did it all for him.  You’d get a big bear hug for it, no matter who might be watching.  While he’s away on a mission, he won’t ever leave it behind.  It takes a lot of willpower for him not to show it off to his brothers because, you know, forbidden relationship.  He may end up breaking and showing it to his closest brothers, the ones he knows won’t snitch.
Wolffe:  He’s a grump, yes, but when you surprise him out-of-the-blue with a handmade gift right before he has to leave for a mission, he’s anything but.  He’s not really sure what to say as you stand there in suspense at his reaction.  Wolffe’s not the type to gush over things, but he wants you to know that it means a lot.  He’ll look at the item in his hand very closely before meeting your gaze again.  Unable to come up with the words, he’ll pull you into an embrace so tight that there’s no mistaking how he feels.  He’ll grunt a soft “thank you” under his breath only for you to hear.  He’ll keep it with him no matter what and spend his free moments looking at it and thinking about you.

Literally anything about Echo, please. Could be before or during bad batch, I’m just completely head over heels for the man
PAST LIVES // Echo x Reader
Summary: Echo's been rescued from Skako Minor, settling into Clone Force 99 slowly but surely. His past catches up with him during a routine diagnostic run, and you... well, you're unknowingly somewhere between a memory and a reunion. Echo is convinced he knows best.
Tumblr media
Something wasn't right, things were too soft and hazy, too golden, too warm, dreamy… But the way you were smiling at him, the way your warm fingers were tracing patterns through his hair, Echo couldn’t bring himself to think too hard about it. It had been far too long since he’d had time with you like this, legs tangled together, his hands were settled on you waist, and you were smiling lazily. Maybe something was right for the first time in a while.
Where was he again? Your apartment on Coruscant? The Barracks? Why couldn’t he tell? Then you shifted, rolling so you were on top of his chest. The hand not on his bicep crept up his torso, nails scratching just right to make his back arch. Maybe it didn’t matter where you were...
"We gotta get up." Your voice was sleepy but happy, muffled as you dropped your face into the crook of his neck. Echo wanted to focus on your voice, on the feel of your lashes against his jaw, but under your voice was the hint of something else. Something that injected a bit of urgency into his system, but nothing here was that urgent right? Echo wrapped his arms a bit tighter around your waist, but nothing felt different, like you slipping through his fingers.
"Echo, you need to wake up now." You said again, suddenly not buried in his neck but staring down at him expectantly. The warmth was sapping away, despite your touch his legs were feeling colder and stiffer. Your voice wasn’t soft, but an order, behind it was the reverberation of someone else’s. Rex? Fives? No, that wasn’t right either. Echo started to try to sit up, reaching up to run a hand through your hair, locks slipped over his quickly cooling fingers like an water washing away an illusion, revealing a durasteel scomp link in it’s place.
The urgency was rising, his other hand running over his head to find his cropped cut gone. Barely any stubble had started to regrow, his face had gone gaunt. Furrowed brows lifted his eyes to you, the golden version of you smiling and the cold urgent version of yourself flickering like a faulty holo-com. He tried calling your name, but a static shock at the base of his neck catapulted him first into darkness though he was becoming rapidly more aware of his reality.
Half a moment later, a hand shook his shoulder and he startled awake again. The harsh white light of the Kaminoan medical bay was a stark difference to the hazy golden light in his dream.
It had been a dream, of course it had, Echo hadn’t spoken to you since…well, since he’d been a different man.
"Diagnostic scans are looking good. New implants are operating satisfactory. " Tech announced, tapping away at a data pad that was connected by a couple wires to the base of Echo’s skull. The former ARC trooper sighed, craning his neck this way and that though the cybernetics along his spine wouldn’t let the joints pop.
"Great, can we find a way to test these things without knocking me out?" He groaned, watching Tech tap at a few more things. The genius rose his eyebrows.
"We could but we risk neural overload, neural underload, brain fry, memory lapse, short term memory loss, long term memory loss, hallucinations,…" Tech’s list was on going, bordering on droning but Echo’s focus was lost when motion at the door way caught his eye. The medbay doors swished apart, making room for two clones. Two older cadets in training armor, one half supporting his brother who was sans helmet. The injured one had blood dribbling down his forehead and looked more than a little dazed. Training incidents, those happened all the time. It was the pretty civilian nurse who flanked the pair that held Echo's attention, taking the injured cadet under his other arm to help him walk straight.
You.
It was like being shocked all over again.
Echo was an entirely different man now, but you… You’d barely changed. Sure, your hair was a little longer now, a couple more shadows under your eyes. But, you were still you. The woman that Echo had loved, still loved. He couldn't help but watch you sit the injured trooper down, asking both cadets diagnostic questions. They seemed flustered under your keen eyes, casting each other wide eyed looks when you’d offer them that soft, reassuring smile you gave all your patients.
You’d given Echo that smile, it seemed like decades ago now when you’d met, and, kriff, it’d stunned him to silence, too. Still did. Echo watched you put gloves on, sliding them over a ring he’d given you shortly before he left for the Citadel. And he watched those gloved hands gently feel over the Cadet’s head, not quite like you used to play with his hair, but just as gentle. He couldn’t quite hear your voice, but he could see your lips moving, your face was still gentle, probably explaining what you were doing or cracking a joke as opposed to the scolding you used to serve the 501st when they’d get hurt doing something dumb.
The cadet flinched as you started to clean the shallow wound on his forehead, and Echo almost laughed at the face you made at him. There was the scolding, judging by how the cadet sat up a little straighter. It didn’t take you long, cleaning, bandaging, shining a light in the clone’s eyes.
"Alright, I think you’ll survive, just barely."
Echo couldn’t hear you, but he knew that glint in your eyes. You always said that when treating minor wounds; you thought it was funny. He knew exactly the lilt of your voice, which words you put emphasis on, the quirk of your brow, the breath of a laugh you’d tag on the end as you patted the Cadet’s knee. He’d heard you say it a hundred times, been the patient on the receiving end when he’d make excuses to come see you in the medbay before he asked you out.
Tech was prodding his shoulder again, trying to get his attention. Echo could just barely hear him over the rash of memories going through his mind.
"Are you even listening to me? Something made your brainwaves spike." Tech questioned finally looking up from his datapads to follow Echo’s line of sight to you, "Oh."
The cadets were leaving now, you were cleaning up the bit of mess you made before taking a sweep of the infirmary. Your eyes landed on the two different clones, your brow twitched for a moment as you looked at him. A spark of recognition dimmed by a crash of sadness before you shook your head, offering the two of them a smile and wave.
"Can I help with anything?" You called after setting a cleaning droid on your station. You were walking over, curiosity in your pretty eyes.
"No, just routine diagnostics." Tech answered when Echo just stared at you like a ghost. Ironic considering he was the more ghost like of the two of you. You slipped more into work mode,  eyes scanning over the cybernetics on his head and dumbstruck look.
"And they’re coming back green?" You asked, sincerely, reaching out to gently take hold of Echo’s chin. Kriff, if you touched him he didn’t know what he’d do. He’d been so carefully avoiding you since his rescue. Stars, the truth was clawing up his throat to tangle with the wisps of your perfume that he’d breathed in, like sparks and gas. It burned your presence into him, but, dank farrik, it was nice to be warm again.
But could he do this to you? You deserved more than what he’d become, he couldn’t give you what he once could. Could he put you through that after everything?
Rex had told him. How hard you took it when the news of Echo’s apparent death was broken to you. Everything you’d been through afterwards. Rex told him that you weren’t coping well, you were becoming reckless, distant. Barely eating, barely sleeping, less patient, quiet. The only reason you were still working in the GAR at all was because some of the boys were worried what might happen to you if you were formally discharged. So, Rex pulled some strings, had you transferred back to Kamino where you’d been primarily an instructor, teaching cadets medical skills, running drills with them to show them how to work with civilians in the field, and taking shifts in the infirmary just to keep busy. Compared to what Kix had described, you seemed to finally be doing better. You seemed like you.
Echo could feel the warmth emanating off your fingertips as they got closer, reminding him exactly why he needed to not be this close. That spark of recognition was back in your stare, your brow twitching. At the last second, Echo flinched backwards away from your fingers, leaning away to try not to choke on your scent as he cleared his throat.
"Just a little out of sync when things come back online, ma’am, nothing to worry about. ‘M fine." Echo forced his voice to be rigid, cut and dry, the way soldiers were supposed to talk to civilians like you. Anything else, he’d be afraid you’d clock him based just off his tone. You always could do that, pick him out of a crowd with your eyes closed. Sometimes, Fives and Jesse would convince Echo to play ‘musical armor’ to try to trick you, you wouldn’t even have to turn around. The moment Echo opened his mouth, you’d hit him with a sweet greeting. It always made the guys laugh, but it made Echo feel… right, warm all the way through. So, he couldn’t risk it and kept his voice firm.
Echo expected you to look at him weird, maybe even be irritated at his cold tone, but instead, you just smiled, shaking your head with the slightest laugh as you dropped your hand back to your side.
"What?" Echo pressed, fighting the urge to smile back. He shouldn’t have, he needed to leave. It was nice to have you this close again, but it’d just hurt more in the long run. You straightened up, taking a half step back.
"Sorry, you just… remind me of someone I used to know."
Echo tried not to flinch at that.
"We’re needed in the docking bay."
Both of you had completely forgotten Tech was there. The batch’s genius was watching Echo carefully and you curiously, and for all the crap they gave him, Tech had obviously picked up on Echo’s inner struggle. Tech stood slowly, slipping his helmet on and handed Echo’s to him, "We’ll see ourselves out."
Echo nodded to Tech, and also to himself, before offering you a curt nod as well, just for the excuse to give you another short look. Your brows crinkled again, but Echo turned on his heel to follow Tech out before he could give you anymore reason to question him.
"Oh, alright. Bye then." Your voice was soft, confused as you stared at the two men leaving the infirmary.
"You knew her."
Tech’s phrase wasn’t a question, but a fact. Stated as such as they walked back to the docking bay. Echo answered it like one anyone, after he slipped his helmet on, hoping it’d make him harder to read.
"Uh, yeah. She used to work in the 501st." Not a lie, you had worked in the 501st, after the incident on the Rishi moon.
"Your body language suggests some sort of deeper relation than simple coworkers. Your pupils dilated, brainwaves spiked, vocal change, hyper fixated focus, fidgety muscle reactions-"
"Don’t need a biology lesson, Tech." Echo groaned, "And I’m suggesting that it doesn’t matter anymore."
"It just insinuates that-"
"Un-insinuate it then."
"Hmm." Tech hummed, casting an odd look to the newest member of the Batch.
"I..." Echo thought for a moment, trying to come up with some sort of dismissal, but that truth was still crawling up his throat. His shoulders slumped a bit as he fixed his helmeted gaze on the pristine white floors, "I'm not the man she knew."

wow this is so dramatic and unedited lol

Wash Away the Pain #1 - Echo
Returning to Kamino following a string of back-to-back missions after Anaxes, Echo receives the news he never wanted to hear.
Pairing: Echo x gn!reader (can be seen as platonic or romantic)
Word count: 1.3k
Warnings: whump, reference to Fives death, Echo has self-esteem issues, mourning and grief, hurt and comfort, you and the boys rally around Echo, bittersweet ending.
A/N: I was heavily inspired by these gorgeous drawings by @thattoothpick.
This is part of a mini-series where each of our boys will get their sad/angsty shower time, but they can be read as standalones.
Check out the whole series: Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair.
Sign up to be tagged in my future fics.

The sound of falling water drowned out everything else in the fresher, the water temperature so hot it should’ve been uncomfortable, but after years in cryofreeze, Echo welcomed the heat.
He was gone.
He was really gone.
“I’m sorry, Echo. I really am. He should’ve been stunned. I still don’t know why it went down like that.”
Rex’s voice as he’d broken the news still rang in his head. Echo had received a message from him only an hour ago, after you’d all landed on Kamino following a string of back-to-back missions following Anaxes. He’d thought they would just shoot the breeze like old times. He hadn’t expected this.
Echo’s eyes drop, fixating on the metal legs the Techno Union had attached to his body. The scomp on his right arm, the ports littering his body. Self-loathing coils through him.
Why did he get to live? Why was he turned into a machine while Fives died, lost in panic, in a dirty Coruscant street? The only saving grace was that Rex had been there to hold him.
So lost in his thoughts, Echo misses the sound of the fresher door opening, of you slipping inside and shutting it behind you.
Echo might’ve only been with you and the boys for a few weeks, but you’d quickly grown fond of him. So much so that when he’d returned to the barracks 10 minutes ago, crest-fallen, clutching a bucket painted in the colours of the 501st, and then promptly headed for the fresher without so much as a word, you’d known something was wrong. Your datapad had pinged a few moments later, a message from Rex filling you in, asking you to keep an eye on Echo – as if you wouldn’t have done that.
Physically, he was fine, albeit still getting used to his new body. As the squads nat-born medic, called in because of the inability of your boys to get along with regs, it was your job to look after their wellbeing. And now it seemed Echo needed some care.
You step into the shower behind him, not caring that you’re still clothed, and slowly press a hand to his back. Echo jolts at the touch, caught off-guard, turning in place to meet your gaze. With space tight on the Marauder and sharing barracks, seeing the boys in various states of undress had become commonplace. Heck, half the time, they had to be stripped out of their ruined blacks when injured. The nudity no longer bothered any of you. Echo had adapted to it quickly, too.
“Echo…” His name falls from your lips quietly, hand rising to cup his face. His head tilts away from your gaze, taking your hand with him. Thumb smoothing across his gaunt cheek, you watch as a myriad of emotions flit across his face.
Echo’s eyes were now clouded with grief and guilt. The water from the shower mixes with the tears streaming down his face, creating a bittersweet cascade that mirrored the turmoil within him.
“I should’ve been there,” Echo mutters, his voice strained and filled with regret. “I should’ve protected him. He’s gone because of me.”
Your heart aches for him, and you rest your free hand on his waist, pulling him closer. The prosthetic attachments on his body feel cold against your skin – even with the shower’s heat – a stark reminder of his sacrifices for the Republic. “Echo, you couldn’t have known. You’ve been through so much. Don’t blame yourself.”
He shakes his head, a mix of frustration and sorrow in his eyes. “I can’t shake the feeling that I failed him. And now I’m just a machine, a reminder of everything we lost.”
You gently trace the contours of the implants on his arm, your fingers dancing over the hard surface. “You’re not just a machine, Echo. You’re a survivor. You’re still here.”
He finally meets your gaze, and for a moment, he searches your eyes. You don’t know what he’s looking for, but you let him take his time. “I don’t know how to be here without him.” He finally admits.
“You don’t have to have all the answers right now. Grieve, remember, but don’t forget that there are people here who care about you, who want to help you through this.” You tell him softly, the water continuing to pour down around you both.
Echo’s shoulders slump, and he leans into your touch, the warmth of your presence starkly contrasting with the cold metal that now makes up a significant part of him. The weight of loss and survivor’s guilt hangs heavy in the air, but your steady support gives him a small anchor in the storm of his emotions.
“I don’t want to be alone again.” He admits, voice barely above a whisper.
“You never will be.” You assure him, fingers continuing their gentle exploration of the cybernetic enhancements that have become a part of him, wanting to show him that it was okay, that there was nothing wrong with his new body. “We’re all here for you, Echo. The boys, Rex, and I.”
He nods, a silent acknowledgement of your words. The water washes away not just the physical grime but also some of the emotional turmoil that has gripped him since Rex delivered the devastating news.
As the two of you stand in the warmth of the shower, Echo may feel like a machine, a remnant of a past he can’t forget, but your touch, your empathy, reminds him that he’s still human beneath the prosthetics.
Eyes flitting towards the counter just outside the shower cubicle, Echo lets out a small sigh as he looks over his brother’s helmet. Memories of them painting their armour together surface, of the multiple attempts it had taken to get the lines crisp, of Fives dipping his hand in blue paint to reapply the print on Echo’s chestplate.
Following his gaze, a sad smile passes over your lips. “Remembering him doesn’t mean you must carry the weight alone.” You say, voice a gentle murmur. “We’re all here to share the burden. Fives will always be a part of you, and you’ll carry his memory forward.”
Echo's gaze lingers on the helmet. The loss of a brother is a wound that cuts deep, but perhaps, with time and support, the injury could heal into a scar - a testament to the strength it took to endure.
As the water cools, you guide Echo out of the shower. The small space feels intimate and comforting, a refuge from the harsh realities of the galaxy. You hand him a towel, and he begins to dry himself off on autopilot, his mind still processing the emotional whirlwind.
Over the following days, the barracks become a place of healing. The boys rally around Echo, offering support and understanding. When Echo’s new armour is finished – having undergone some modifications courtesy of Tech – they paint it in their colours while you distract Echo in the medbay. You’d also procured some blue paint from Rex, and they make sure to add a small Aurebesh ‘5’ and a fine-line domino to the back of the chestplate.
The tears that had clouded Echo’s gaze as he’d been presented with his new kit and had turned it over to find the hidden tribute were a mixture of sorrow and gratitude. The pain of loss still lingered, but each stroke of the brush, each carefully applied detail, was a silent affirmation that he was not alone.
In the quiet moments, you still find Echo gazing at Five’s helmet, stored securely on the Marauder. But now, there’s a small smile playing on his lips. The pain may never fully fade, but Echo carries the memories of Fives with gratitude for the time they shared, and the squad learns that even in loss, there’s strength in unity.

A Bun In The Oven (Echo x Reader)
Notes: No warnings, pregnancy reveal, food mention, Fives is a goofball, Echo loves you v v much, based on this pregnancy reveal.
Tumblr media
You should have known that he wouldn't understand the turn of phrase. Clones had very minimal sex education, you knew, but now that he had discovered the burnt bun, it was too funny to back out.
"Honey, why would you leave a single roll in the oven?" Echo sighed and used some tongs to take the offending pastry out of the oven. Echo had insisted on cooking dinner for you, and you honestly thought that he would check the oven before preheating it.
"It's not a roll, it's a bun." You corrected him, running your hands over your decidedly flat stomach (for now, at least)
"What's the difference?" Fives asked. He was never one to pass up free food. Echo smacked his hands away with the tongs.
"Okay, why would you leave a single bun in the oven?"
"You know, I'm starting to see where you got your name from, babe."
Fives cackled, and Echo smacked him again with the tongs.
"Echo, what did you pull out of the oven?"
"A burnt roll."
"Not a roll!" Fives crowed.
"Okay a burnt bun!" Echo sighed, "Honey, are you feeling okay?" he patted your forehead to see if you had a fever. "
"I'm fine, Echo," You giggled, "We have a bun in the oven."
Echo blinked slowly. "I just pulled it out."
Your head fell forward against his chest as you shook with laughter.
"Okay, what have you done to my riduur?" Echo accused Fives, wrapping his arms around you to hold you upright.
"Nothing, I swear!" Fives waved his arms insistently.
"Echo," You placed your hands on his shoulders to balance yourself. "A bun in the oven is a way of saying that someone's pregnant."
His eyes went wide, and in his sudden silence you could hear Fives trying to muffle his squeals.
"Echo, we're having a baby."
Echo's hands rested on your hips, "Really?" he whispered.
You nodded.
"You're pregnant?"
You nodded again.
With this confirmation Echo wrapped his arms around you and swept you off your feet. You threw your arms around his neck as you both laughed for joy.
"I'm gonna be a buir!" He boasted to Fives.
"I'm gonna be an uncle!" Fives whooped for joy and tried to hug you both, but Echo shoved him away so that he could hold you for a moment longer.
He took your face in his hands and kissed you, surprisingly gentle for the excitement he'd just displayed.
"How far along are you, cyare?"
"Just a few weeks. I went the medicenter yesterday to get confirmation."
You glared over at Fives, "Usually couple wait a little longer before they tell other people."
Fives shrugged, "You know it's physically impossible for me to be more than 100 meters away from Echo at any given time."
He gave you a gentle hug, "I promise I won't tell anyone unless you guys say so."
"Thank you, Fives," You kissed his cheek.
Fives grinned, and then lunged at Echo, wrestling him to the floor.
"You sly mir'sheb! My vod, a buir!" He caught Echo in a headlock, ruffling Echo's perfectly gelled, regulation hair.
"You know tubies don't care about a sleep schedule, right? How're you supposed to get the regulation eight?"
"I...hadn't figured that out yet," Echo gasped for breath.
You laughed, wondering if this would be the life of your future child. Would you and Echo be able to give them a sibling or two? Would you be able to provide them a shelter safe from the war?
Any worries you had were promptly squashed by the laughter of Echo and his brother as they wrestled on the floor of your apartment. How could you doubt how wonderful your life with Echo could be when this was the glimpse of your future?
"Fives, I would appreciate it if you refrained from taking out the father of my child before they're born." You said, reaching for the plates and cups to set the table. Echo did say he wanted to cook for you tonight.
"Do you know if it'll be a boy or a girl?" Fives dropped Echo like a hot blaster, and Echo leaped to his feet, running over to the kitchen to shield himself behind you while he finally got back to the meal prep.
"We won't know for a few more months," You said, absently running a hand over your stomach. Echo watched the movement for a moment, and held out his hand, silently asking permission.
You nodded, and Echo placed his hand on your belly, holding it there for a moment as if he could feel the baby that could hardly be bigger than your eyeball.
"If it's a boy, we could name them after one of the Dominoes," He said with reverence.
You resisted the urge to make a face, "I know you love your brothers, babe, but I refuse to name my newborn child "Droidbait"."
"What about DB for short?"
"No."
"I call dibs on Hevy!" Fives said.
"You've never even met a girl!" Echo sighed.
"Too late. I got dibs. No take backs."
You laughed as Echo rolled his eyes. He turned back to chopping the vegetables, and you helped mix them in the pot.
A few minutes later, he leaned over and whispered in your ear, "What about Fives?"
"Are you making enough for him?"
"No, for a baby name. Naming our kid after him."
You gave him a deadpan stare. "You really want to stoke your brother's ego that much?" you nodded over to Fives, sprawled out on your couch and flipping through holochannels.
Echo suppressed a snort. "I guess not."
You kissed his cheek, "Don't worry babe, we've got eight months to figure it all out."

i saw that requests are open, so could i request your headcanons about the bad batch reacting to a unexpected love confession from their crush (the reader)? ❤️🥰
you confess [bad batch]
relationships: gn reader x bad batch
warnings: inexperienced clones, jealous cross, insecurities, some internalized ableism (echo)
a/n: my first bad batch request! thank you so much!
Tumblr media
crosshair
• cross will flirt with you all the time but when you confess he shut downs (like that brooklyn 99 episode where adrien is super flirty but when rosa asks him out he runs away)
• cross doesn't take your feelings seriously bc he doesn't see himself as lovable :(
• he rather keep you at a distance than be hurt when you eventually leave
• i think this fear is why he starts fights with regs, he rejects them before he can be rejected
• besides you're a liability, cross already has to keep his stupid siblings alive, he doesn't need another loved one distraction
• it might take seeing you flirt with someone else for him to admit his feelings
• i know that's low key toxic but so is crosshair so it works out
• within a second you're being pinned against the closest wall, long fingers squeezing your hips
echo
• echo's feelings are very obvious (he treats you like royalty ffs) but he never considers confessing
• his insecurities have convinced him that you could never feel the same way
• so when you do it feels too good to be true
• he's so expressive, you might as well just told him he'd won the lottery
• he doesn't understand why choose him when he has a million brothers with the same face and no baggage
• "because they're not you"
• you have to reassure him when it comes to his body
• "i like your prosthetics. they make me feel safe. like nothing can hurt me when i'm with you."
• your health/safety is echo's main priority so to hear you see him a protector >>>>
• thats when it becomes real for echo: the person of my dreams wants me
• he's instantly pulling you into him, kissing your check and showering you in mando'a compliments
hunter
• hunter first clocked your rapid heart beat around him as nerves
• does he intimidate you? he goes out of his way to be nice as possible but it keeps happening
• at this point he's concerned, he even brings it up to tech
• when he confronts you about your 'health issue' you're embarrassed but it's also funny as hell
• well since you've been called out you might as well shoot your shot
• "i'm love sick" "oh fuck is it treatable?"
• you can't help but laugh at your sweet, dumb, hunk
• "i want to date you, hunter"
• when he's silent you start to apologize but he quickly silences you with a kiss
• "oh sweetheart" he pants when you finally pull away
tech
• tech has a hard time understanding when someones serious vs joking
• so even if he does pick up on your flirting he might think you're kidding
• he's used to being teased by his brothers but no ones ever flirted with him
• when you confess you need to be very straight forwards
• "i like you romantically, tech" "...why?"
• he's not fishing for compliments, he genuinely wants to know your thought process
• tech, much like crosshair, is confused bc he doesn't see himself as boyfriend material
• in turn, he begans listing off everything he likes about you
• you actually have to cut him off because he won't stop-
• "i'm infatuated with you as well"
wrecker
• everyone knows about wrecker's feelings except for wrecker
• he's never had a crush before, or even a friend that's not a sibling, so he doesn't recognize the feeling
• but his crush is visible from space
• he considers you his best friend and wants to be with you all the time
• he will do anything for your attention (even share the good rations)
• when you first confess it goes over his head because you guys already have a really affectionate friendship
• "i like you" "aw i like you too" "no i mean i like you more than a friend" "like a best friend?" "no like i want to kiss you!"
