NOT HIM HAVING THIS MOMENT AND HAVING TO SNAP HIMSELF OUT OF IT-
He was literally thinking about if she was still here and with him.....god, she really was everything to him. He just wants to be free from those damn nightmares for good and think about how happy he was with her 😭
Is this scene implying that Shadow brings a blanket to the aurora borealis and imagines Maria tucking him in or does he falls asleep in the flowers and imagines Maria giving comfort by tucking him in with the blanket like she would on the Ark
The third, and presumably final, episode of Dark Beginnings was somehow the most painful, despite feeling so short.
"You could have talked him down, Rouge."
"There's only one person who could ever do that."
These scenes have really driven home the grief and pain that Shadow is still carrying around with him. Yes, he's strong. Yes, he will move forward. But Maria Robotnik was his entire world, once upon a time, and he will always miss her.
What really hurt me to watch was this scene. The wide eyes, the labored breathing, it looks like he's about to have a panic attack as he relives these memories.
I've always liked Shadow. All these new insights into his story and character have made me love him, and Maria, even more.
