Original Baxter stockman Basement painting by me. Loved making this. Early on this location played a bigger part in the story. We returned to it multiple times through out the old version of the film. Mondo gecko used to be held in a cage here. Baxter would buy stolen/illegal exotic animals to experiment on, There were story boards where Baxter exploded an alligator in the kiddy pool. We had kind of a weird amount of animal death in the old version 😂. There was also a beach boys needle drop. It was pretty tight actually. Can you find the Easter egg?

Happy Belated Valentine's Day! 💕
I got to transform paint this background for the Solar Opposites holiday special! It was such a joy to make all the colors fit for such a love struck occasion! I definitely took color inspiration from the target valentines day section, it had to look aesthetic!
Solar Opposites Valentine's Day special is on Hulu!

⁺⋆✧ Concept Art ✧ ⁺⋆
I've been working on some easier to animate versions of some of the characters for a Youtube Intro and Outro!! I really like how these sketchy turn-arounds came out! They aren't up to industry standard, but since I'm the only one animating 'em it doesn't really matter! I think in the end it'll be super cute and goofy and fun!!

What are your thoughts on adults who like Disney?? I never understood why people had problems with grown ups liking Disney.
I don't get it either, but I also don't get why adults who like Disney call themselves "Disney adults" and make it an identity of its own. You like a theme park, it's your favorite place to go in the world, you have lots of memories there: awesome! But you know, I've got a summer camp and a certain neighborhood park that both also fit those descriptions, and I'm not out here saying I'm a "summer camp adult."
On the other hand, I personally love Disney World because just focusing on the movies that were timestamps on my childhood is wonderful. Bonus points if I get to take my family with me. I walk through Toy Story land with my little brother, we're both adults now, but when we walk under a statue of Woody I know we're both thinking about how he used to sit in his car seat and beg to turn that movie on whenever we drove anywhere, or how he settled on "You've Got a Friend in Me" as the song he danced with my mom to at his wedding. Even though in normal life, when we see each other, Toy Story never comes up in conversation--when we go to Disney World we get to think about all those memories. We remember how long, exactly, we've known each other, because the movie is like a gigantic keepsake.
It's like walking around a park that just says "remember when, remember when" every twenty feet or so. A big mascot for all the timestamps on our lives. Not to mention how much I, personally, love the movies and am thinking about the craft of storytelling for a whole day--and it's not weird to be talking about it and enjoying it with others for the whole day, because we're in a place that MAKES IT the topic.
🤷♀️ Yeah, I love Disney World!

AKIRA Art of Wall, It is one of the most complete books on the art of Katsuhiro Otmo of his splendid work, but also one of the most difficult to find and see. Unlike Akira's other editorial publications, this one is not in a complete digital format, you can only find small glimpses of the pages on pinterest, one of the most complete books on the art of Katsuhiro Otmo of his splendid work, but also one of the most harder to get and see.
