~Solo 1 -Breathtaking Beauty. @ArtisticLense~

The morning sun glimmered through the window of my loft, lighting up the small area I considered my bedroom. I lifted my head from the softness of the white pillow I had been hugged up to before the chirping of birds had so rudely awoken me from my much needed sleep. The suns vibrant rays sent a glossy, gold sheen over the thin, white sheet that was draped across my backside.

The sound of the rhythmic waters flowing through the canals outside the building brought a peaceful hymn to my ears, a softness that would have sent me right back into dreamland if I had not been scheduled to do a photo-shoot today.

Once again I closed my eyes while the suns waking rays warmed my body, as a soft breeze blew through my open windows. Normally that breeze would have been a welcome breath of fresh air, not today. The canals were due to be cleaned, until they were, we could expect our beautiful city to be surrounded by foul-smelling water canals.

My eyes shot open from the sound of my phone vibrating against the glass of the nightstand beside the bed. A frustrated groan grumbled through my parted lips as I stretched my arm across the bed and grabbed the phone, glancing at the screen to see a message from my best-friend and business partner.

 "Get your lazy ass up. You're late."

With a roll of my eyes I slung the sheet off and hopped out of the warmth of my cozy bed as I replied to his message.

 "The Gala Dinner took longer than expected last night. Entertain the models with some champagne. I'm on my way."

I tossed my phone on the bed, quickly hopped in the shower and dressed for my day, grabbed my wallet, phone and camera case as I ran out the door.

As I crossed the bridge I noticed the roses sitting in a vase. The urge took over, I stopped to take a quick snap of the gondola's sitting in a queue, facing the city, my mind already planning the way I would work that picture to my advantage.

In being a photographer, I found beauty in every direction I aimed my camera. Photography was a dream of my Nana's; one that she had passed onto me. At an early age she stuck a camera in my hand and it quickly took over, becoming my life.

"Antonio" I nodded as I stepped into the gondola of a friend. "Same route?" He asked as he took the long wooden oar and began to push away from the docking station.

"Yes, I'm in a hurry, but you know me, I'm forever looking for something beautiful to snap." I replied as I took a seat, camera in hand, and ready to go.

"WAIT. PLEASE WAIT." My head shot up to the sound of woman yelling out. Antonio glanced down at me, then back to her.

"Please. May I catch a ride?" Breathless, she asked as the dark pools of her hues glanced between both Antonio and I.

"I don't mind." I stated with a shrug of my shoulder as I stood and held out my hand to help the lady into the gondola. I hadn't noticed the other gondola's had been empty of gondoliers until I glanced up the dock in wonderment of why she didn't just take another boat instead of yelling for Antonio to wait.

The tall, slender woman took my hand, seeming uneasy as she stepped into the boat, quickly taking a seat in the middle, gripping both sides as if she were afraid.

Antonio's eyes scanned over the woman gripping her seat and I bit back a chuckle. Why would someone get on boat when there so clearly afraid of the water?

My poor attempt at not making it known that I was staring at the woman was a lost cause the moment she glanced in my direction and caught me eyeing her closely.

The woman was breathtakingly beautiful. I lived in a world of plastic barbies that couldn't catch my attention if their lives depending on it, and here sat a woman that was definitely not aware of the natural beauty she possessed.

My baby-blue eye’s were drawn to the velvet-black waves that gently caressed its way down her neck, reaching just below her shoulder blades. I allowed my eyes to skim over her sun-kissed skin, imagining the softness of touch.

As her enticing, chocolate-brown eyes gazed at me over her puffy, red-glossed, heart shaped lips.

I knew I had to have her picture, otherwise it would drive me insane for missing out on capturing her beauty.

I held up my camera with one hand while extended my other hand to introduce myself. "Linc Mitchells. You are stunning. May I?"

A curious smile graced her angelic face, eyebrows raised as she extended a perfectly manicured hand in my direction. "Dariela Wilkinson. Nice to meet you, Linc. I believe you could find things much more deserving to take pictures of in this amazing city."

A shy laugh blew through her lips. I felt a flutter of my heart, and found myself mesmerized. I knew then, there was no way I was going to take no for an answer, somehow I had to get her to allow me to take her picture.
