Another little thing I did recently was host a styled shoot with my friends. We rallied together (photographer friends, seamstress friend, and me, floral friend) and had one of the best days! We flew through the 2 hours we had at our rental, but were having such a great time we moved to a park to shoot some more.

It was such a great experience to work with friends. Especially as we all try to grow our portfolios and try out new opportunities to be creative.

The dress my friend made was incredible. And my friend who modeled was stunning!!!

This is also the super soft launch of my floral company... that really isn't a business yet, since I don't really want to take on clients this year. But I am trying to explore what is out there for me on my own through floral design. So we will see where it takes me!

man,,, doing new style stuff is wild for me because I'll do one sketch that I think is super different from my normal style and then it’s. not. and then I'll sketch over that even further departed from my usual and I delete the sketch below and it’s. not. LMAO

At this point “critical consumption” and “separate the art from the artist” has fully lost its meaning and has just become a way for people to convince themselves that what they choose to support and what media they consume exists in a moral vacuum. No, you’re not practicing critical consumption, you’re being intellectually lazy and you don’t want to find a different book to read/movie to watch/game to play/exc. regardless of who made it or how their influence affects people and you just want a nicely regurgitated excuse for it. It is truly deeply concerning how nowadays convenient media consumption is more important than not supporting people who actively hurt others (up to and including influencing legislation that harms entire groups of people) and that people are SO attached to pieces of media (over people, mind you) that it is borderline taboo to say this. It is not even the bare minimum to avoid media made by predators, for one, it’s the entire floor.
