I personally think that Kikyo would absolutely be thrilled that Illumi found himself a man he wants to marry as strong, handsome and fit to be Zoldyck as Hisoka.

Hisoka is strong enough to be considered an equal to a zoldyck, which means strength is no problem for him. And I don't know about you but the way he assassinated that terradin man that was threatening to reveal illumis identity at the end of the election arc? CHEFS. KISS. THATS A WHOLE ZOLDYCK WIFE RIGHT THERE. And Hisoka is a certain type of fucked up enough to be a Zoldyck, even if he is... mmm.. self aware. Even if he himself thinks zoldycks are a special kind of fucked up. He'd fit.

I always see people make silva and kikyo disagree with illumi marrying hisoka but i soooo heavily disagree. Like what is there NOT to be proud of in Illumi's marriage choice. There is not a single other character IN THE ENTIRE ANIME fit to be Zoldyck than Hisoka Morow and I will fight people on that.

Something a lot of people also don't realize is that the Zoldycks are not a family that discriminates in the slightest (this is a whole discussion on its own but examples are how Kikyo is from meteor city, the butlers are taken from anywhere as long as they have the skill to work and one of the people who attacked kukuroo mountain to hunt the zoldycks now works for them instead. The zoldycks didnt hesitate to hire that mf they fr dont gaf lmfao)

there are soooooooo many misconceptions about the zoldycks in general and i think thats what aids the whole "the zoldycks would HATE hisoka" thing but like. nah. they wouldnt.

I also think about how Kikyo found Silva at such a young age. I bet she was constantly nagging Illumi and asking when he'd get a partner himself. Now he's got it, Millukiiii ITS YOOOURRR TURRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!

Omegas that would have obsessions — Multifandom

Notes: This is inspired by @animeomegas's headcanon of Nara's obsessions, but since I discovered it through @omeganronpa I'm giving them both credit.

Warnings: Contain MAJOR Inuyasha spoilers, might have grammar errors, confusing talk about reincarnation (I don't know what I'm saying either lol)

I had this idea for a while, cause I like the idea of the Nara clan having a sort of "soulmate", so I thought to myself "What other characters that I write for would also have obsessions?". And here are the ones I think would have:

- Inuyasha: 

»» I think he and his entire family (his father and brother) would have it, just like it happens with the Nara clan every heir has an obsession. But in Inuyasha's case, it can be a little confusing.

»» Because if we follow the canon, his obsession would be Kikyo and Kagome, considering they are the same person since Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo from the future. So in the end, they're the same person in different timelines.

»» So we can have three scenarios in this case, first one: Inuyasha's obsession is Alpha from the very start, and he doesn't fall in love with Kikyo.

»» Second scenario is that (Name) is the only reincarnation of Kikyo, and Kagome either doesn't exist or just isn't the reincarnation. The third scenario would be that Kagome and Alpha are twins, and they're both the reincarnation of Kikyo, but Inuyasha only obsesses over one, cause otherwise it could lead to incest and I don't like that.

»» For the majority of the anime's plot to work, I think we would have to go with a mix of the third and second scenario, in which Alpha is Kagome's older sibling (by a few years), and is also Kikyo's reincarnation but either both the siblings have priest's powers or only Kagome has.

- Sesshomaru:

»» Being Inuyasha's brother he has an obsession too, but it is a lot easier to discuss how it would work.

»» I hate that they made Sesshomaru and Rin a couple, he raised her like a daughter through the anime, and in the end (and Hanyō no Yashahime) they turned into a couple. I understand that at their time this conception might not be weird and whatnot, but it is to me, so we will pretend like it didn't happen.

»» Unlike Inuyasha, Sesshomaru would already know this concept from his father. Since Inuyasha never met his dad, I think the obsession would be all news for him and he might get overwhelmed. Which would not happen with Sesshomaru.

»» Like, don't get me wrong, I think he would avoid "activating" his obsession because for him feelings and emotions are unnecessary and he doesn't need or want that. He's also very much anti-social, so it might take a while for him to find his obsession.

»» And for it to work he would have to find them after finding and adopting Rin, because he only became more accepting of people in general after her, principally human. If Alpha is a Yokai things would probably be easier for them, but if they're a human Jaken will make their life harder (and perhaps annoy everybody).

- Tōga:

»» This is also complicated to think about, cause adding a third party to his story would probably mess up the entire anime, considering that he would have to meet his obsession before he dies.

»» So basically we have two scenarios, one which doesn't disturb the canon as much and the other that probably will. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to not change the story of the anime on this one.

»» So, the first scenario is a little bit long so bear with me. Tōga and Sesshomaru's mom only married for power or political purposes, so both of them knew that there was no love in the relationship (I do believe this is canon, but I haven't seen confirmation). Some years later he meets Izayoi (Inuyasha's mom) and he thinks that he has "activated" his obsession, while Izayoi was pregnant, Tōga was fighting the dragon Ryūkotsusei, and in this battle, he met his actual obsession. Who would have seen and heard the fight and decided to help Tōga defeat the dragon, and also helped on saving Izayoi and Inuyasha.

»» Still in the first scenario, this could end two ways, either both Alpha and Tōga die because of the number of lethal wounds they have, or both end up surviving and escaping with Izayoi and raise Inuyasha together. Just an addon to this, I do believe that both Tōga and Izayoi are omegas, and in my universe, male omegas can impregnate others (that can get pregnant, obviously).

»» The second scenario is a lot shorter, but Alpha is Inuyasha's and Sesshomaru's parent, just because I want them both to exist in all scenarios. So if Alpha is either a human or a yokai would probably change the outcome of this, but I do think they would all be a loving family, which is kind of a weird concept considering that Sesshomaru and Inuyasha hate each other in the anime.

- Sebastian:

»» I'm gonna be completely honest, this is heavily influenced by a mod that I installed that makes Seb completely obsessed with the farmer, so this is the only reason why he is here.

»» I don't think this would run in his family, is his thing, but it might also happen to his children, so this genetic obsession might start with him and go for the future generations.

»» From this list, his obsession is the most similar to Shikamaru's, if not more intense, he is a very socially anxious person who only has two actual friends and spends the majority of his days in his room hidden from everyone and everything. He even got a job where he doesn't need to be talking to people or leaving his room.

»» It would be the first time he meets someone and has clear feelings for them, so it would be overwhelming to him and he would not know what to do, but would still try to spend as much time with his obsession as physically possible.

»» Now this would be weird for both Alpha and Seb, considering nobody else in the town has an obsession and he never acted like this towards anybody or thing.

How would the Zoldyck family feel about seeing Future Killua, y'know future Killua is all powerful and all but they also see with KIDS and his wife, but his wife is powerful like POWERFUL POWERFUL, and so are his kids but Killua and his wife don't agree on the kids being assassin's. And the kids don't want to be either. But despite all that, they're like a powerful family that can't be touched. How would the zoldycks react to this? Like headcanons of each Zoldycks reaction😳

This was so goofy for me to write, I hope you enjoy! Sorry if it's not exactly what you wanted, but I think it covers the vague scenario at least.

Kikyo

Kikyo absolutely adores Killua, in her own way, so the fact he'd even dare to get married without letting her know or vet her daughter-in-law would break her. Finding out he had a kid, let alone multiple? She'd keel over like a goat.

Illumi

On the topic of Killua getting married, Illumi's hurt he wasn't invited, but otherwise he wouldn't exactly care. He's not controlling anymore. Killua has made his boundaries clear, Illumi's a good brother, and he respects that. Plus, if Killua gets married, the pressure on Illumi to carry on the lineage goes away! So, he's happy for Killua. He's fine. He's happy he found a loving partner. And has children who won't become assassins. He is. So happy for his baby brother.

Milluki

Unlike Illumi, I don't think Milluki would honestly give a single crap beyond agreeing with his mother for praise. His only hat in this fight is being pissy Killua's family can't be drug into the fold, his kids won't be up for inhumane torture, and his wife is 'ugly'. But, of course, Killua's marriage and his spouse being trash will not spare her Milluki sliding into the dms to try and get nudes and then call her names for not cheating. A fact sure to become fodder for Kikyo

Kalluto

Kalluto is fairly young, so their main concern would be the jealousy. They'd hate that Killua's kids won't become assassins, won't go through that training, and won't be around to play with them because Killua would murder his family if they tried. Other than that, like Milluki, they'd only really agree with Kikyo for acceptance and to not annoy her. Kalluto doesn't strike me as being particularly controlling yet, they just do as they're told.

Alluka

Alluka would get to visit her nieces or nephews, and she'd adore Killua's family. So long as he's still sure he loves her, Alluka is honestly and truly happy for him. She'd want to grant his family wishes, but Killua would probably dissuade that due to the cost, but he'd appreciate it and that would also make her happy.

Silva

Silva would be moreso pissed that Killua would not let his family near the Zoldycks, and would make sure they had no chance to break in or anything extreme. Then you add onto that disrespect of getting no notification of the wedding, let alone childbirth, and Silva is pissed. He only wants what's best for his family, and Killua is supposed to be the next head of the house, so he needs to integrate his wife and kids into the family business, he needs to quit being so hostile to them. But, of course, he'd try to keep his emotions level. There'd be no point in worsening their chances of reconciliation. Plus, despite how infuriating it would be, there's a shred of pride in Killua getting himself to a point where even the Zoldycks can't get him.

Zeno

Zeno is by far the most amused out of the group. Killua went off and got married and had kids without them knowing? Impressive, if a bit upsetting that he cut them out so much. And, he got himself to such a point that they can't retaliate or kidnap the kids? Another impressive feat! Good for Killua for managing that. In all, Zeno seems like he's too old to exactly care about the lineage. Silva's got other kids, it's above Zeno's pay grade to angst over Killua not wanting his kids to become assassins like he did. Zeno's more interested in the war he started when he got out of the zoldyck's reach.

Meeting/Being Apart of the Zoldyck Family

When the adults in the Zoldyck family first met you, well they didn't like you, it's not that you did anything wrong you're just an outsider and they can't help but be wary of you especially when your being introduced as Illumi's boyfriend

I mean if the Zoldyck family can be transphobic is it really a stretch to think their a liiittle homophobic too?

Silva is just straight up in denial

He refuses to call you Illumi's boyfriend, instead he'll call you "Illumi's friend"

You and Illumi will call him out on this but he'll keep on "messing up" (you know damn well he's doing it on purpose)

Kikyo is bit more excepting, but not of you, she doesn't think anyone is good enough for her precious son though

It doesnt help that she believes every gay stereotype she's ever heard, she will honestly pull up on you with something like, "I thought you people wore rainbow colored clothes?" and will be genuinely confused if you aren't wearing rainbow colored clothing

Zeno just thinks Illumi is going through a phase by dating you

In conclusion you being Illumi's boyfriend makes the adults in the Zoldyck family confused and uncomfortable and I take pure joy in this thought

The kids are a different story, none of them care too much about you being there as Illumi's boyfriend

I actually headcannon that Illumi can get along pretty well with all his siblings he just doesn't see them enough

At first Killua isn't too fond of you and even actively avoids you, it's his way of being cautious around you, even if Alluka likes you (which she most definitely does, who doesn't Alluka like?) he still tries to be careful

Like, you're willingly dating Illumi how stable could you be?

However once he realises that you're a pretty cool dude he'll actually start hanging out with you a lot, he'll damn there latch himself onto you

You'll go skateboarding together, pull pranks on people together, hang out with the rest of Killua's friends, and so on and so on, you'll even start to have your own inside jokes

You and Killua call each other step-bro in front of the adults (mostly Silva) to try an get a rouse out of them

Illumi will lightly reprimand the two of you but he will never do anything too serious cause he secretly thinks it's funny too he just can't show it in front of his parents

Basically you and Killua have a lot fun together and are known to also cause a little chaos

Illumi will never flat out tell you that he's jealous about the all the time you get to spend with Killua, but he is, you can tell because after you and Killua hang out Illumi will ask you everything he can about Kil

Was he having fun? Was he smiling? What were some of the things that he liked? Did he ask about him?

You've tried to ask Killua to go out Illumi more often but he will refuse, you did find a loophole though, Killua will hang out with Illumi as long as you're there

You try to do this as much as possible so Illumi can actually see Kil for once without him being mad or scared of him

Milluki hates playing video games with Illumi because he always miraculously wins, has never played a game in his life but will still get a W and then be like "oh, I won"

Milluki just sees this as a massive insult to his skills so he'll play against you next to boost his ego, he is still a pro gamer after all, this boy spends way too much time on his computer to not be one

When Milluki was younger and it was just him and Illumi, Mil was the type of younger brother to hide behind his older brother and talk shit from there because nobody would mess with him with his tall scary looking bro standing right there, right?

This changed somewhat since Illumi puts more of his time and focus into Killua now so Milluki switched all of that energy to you

Now Milluki will get behind you and shit talk from there, Mil sees you like a brother so that's cool

Has that "don't make me call my older brothers to come down here and whoop your ass!" type energy

I think Kalluto and Illumi already get along surprisingly well

Kalluto will follow you and Illumi around the same way he does with his mother

Kalluto will randomly gift you little paper cut outs or paper origamis he made while you're at the house, it's his way of showing he likes you

Illumi and Kalluto can both be so quiet and keep to themselves so much that being around the two of them can be one of the few times in the Zoldyck house where you can have some peace and quiet

Similar to Killua hanging out with Illumi, for Illumi to hang out with Alluka you'll have to be there

Cause Illumi is under this weird impression that Alluka isn't apart of the family or something (which we all know is bullshit) so you have to be there so he'll have a reason to stay

Confidence Part 1

Summary: Inuyasha seemed to live for the Shikon Jewel to become a full-fledged demon. Instead of retrieving the jewel successfully, his annoyance rises to its max when a human woman from the village becomes fond of him. He’s not sure why she isn’t scared of him, like all of the other villagers, but once fifty years pass, he doesn’t realize how much he misses the woman.

Inuyasha wasn’t born how he wanted to be. He was looked down upon not only because he was a demon but because he was a half-demon. The humans were frightened of him, and his only brother hated his being because he was a mere half-breed. What could he get to make things much easier in his life? Perhaps something that could make him a full-fledged demon and cherish the way humans shivered in his presence. 

Why it’s the Shikon Jewel that could grant his wish.

For most of his life, he spent his time trying to get the Shikon Jewel out of the High Priestess Kikyo’s hands. Without fail, he has certainly been able to grasp the sacred jewel in his hands but is unsuccessful in having it for himself completely.

Undoubtedly, the skilled High Priestess takes it back within ten minutes tops.

And for so many years, (Y/N) has watched the young half-breed fail over and over again. Countless times she has felt rather…sad for his predicament. She is not scared of the demon. In fact, she seems to smile and giggle as she watches him easily ward off the weapons that are thrown at him. It amazes her to no end that he doesn’t bother killing anybody as a normal demon would.

So, she deems correctly that he is, in fact, not a demon.

On one sunny day, (Y/N) finds herself running into the very demon she was thinking about on her way home from the forest. The basket full of plants, herbs, and vegetables begins to feel heavy as she stands there in nervousness. She never expected to meet him in person, as much as she’d like, so she wasn’t sure what she should do.

Should I just walk past? She thinks to herself, nervously picking at the twigs poking out from their folded spots in the basket. With a light sigh, she decides its best to leave him be.

“What are you staring at?” Of course, luck doesn’t seem to be on her side. 

She hums in question as she looks at him, shocked he even spoke to her. “I-I’m sorry?”

He clicks his tongue, turning away with attitude, “Whatever. Just beat it already.”

Such attitude he had. (Y/N) expected him to be this way, especially after the conversations she had heard between him and Lady Kikyo. “Ah…” she squeaks out.

“What is it?” He growls, glancing back at her.

“U-um…I noticed you’re a bit lonely….” She finally speaks. 

This seemed to tick him off. He stands abruptly from the ground, and his hands now formed as fists. But (Y/N) didn’t flinch. “Yeah! So what?!”

Way to set him off, (Y/N). She silently scolds herself. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like that. Um…would you like to have dinner with me? I planned on making a stew.”

This, to her surprise, caught the half-breed off guard. He looked quite shocked for a few long seconds. His wide golden eyes stared at her in disbelief. But, to her dismay, he huffs and sits back down. With his back facing her, she could see his shoulders quite tense.

“Leave me alone already!”

(Y/N) knows not to fight with him. So, with that, she bows politely and continues her walk home.

“Ah fuck, you two are banging again, aren’t you?”

Inuyasha was about to kill his only other friend in the world. He needed to remind himself how stupid his friend was–and–

“Oof,” Miroku groaned, as he smacked himself into Kagome’s barrier. Ha. Inuyasha almost hoped Miroku broke his nose. “Whyyyyy—”

“Because you annoy me,” Kagome said, sipping her tea as she read the paper on Inuyasha’s bed in his long tee-shirt.

Devil Devil

(Disclaimer: This is like 3 chapters ahead from my last post--sorry--I'll try to beta and read this week)

Brushing my teeth with the extra toiletries the hotel provided helped with the lingering headache and stomachache. We had gotten at least twelve hours of sleep from when we checked into the hotel room and laid down, minus the quick spat from my friend who was still convinced I had a death wish. The sleep had definitely helped my body and hopefully some food would be the final nail in the chiffon to whatever else seemed to be aching. 

"You sure about this?" Inuyasha asked from the door as I spit the toothpaste into the sink and rinsed my mouth out with water.

"What do you mean?" I asked as I turned towards him, wiping my mouth off the bubbly white lining.

"You goin' with. I can handle the two that are after your other friends."

"While I'm sure you can, I want to be there and while I know you're nervous since I'm kinda beat up, we both know you're better with me nearer than away." Inuyasha didn’t deny nor confirm my haughty statement, which meant I was right. 

“I don’t like it.”

“You don’t have to.”

“I hate all of this if anyone is asking for my opinion,” Shippo added.

“No one did,” Inuyasha growled.

I sighed. My head hurt. They were riding my last nerve. And I really just wanted a nap.

Head Above Water

The wedding went off without a hitch. Kikyo almost seemed happy to marry the stoic bastard, and Sesshomaru almost seemed relieved he was taking the figurative arrow in the chest. But ultimately, it didn’t matter; what did matter was how beautiful Kagome looked in his eyes… Sango had really done her job. She was wearing an aquamarine dress, one that made her eyes sparkle, and make-up that didn't hide her natural beauty, nor made her look like she belonged totally.

Kagome was born to stand out– she was a fucking mermaid! 

After the wedding, his father and mother blocked him from making any advances like he wanted to and Kagome was whisked away. While it pissed Inuyasha off to no end, he imagined it was to protect her from Kikyo’s family wrath. 

Kikyo and Sesshomaru immediately went to forge the bond (something the humans were uncomfortable with knowing) but moved the great hall for the food and to await to marking celebration. Inuyasha, however, had other ideas.

Dog Demon War

Kagome found it odd being home. She wanted so badly to try and use the well–try to desperately get back to her Inuyasha–her friends–her family–

But there was a tremendous fear of even trying to time travel after that experience.

Her friends have been killed.

Her friends died before her very eyes.

She had died.

Their child had been killed within her womb.

Her hands trembled as she brought them to cover her face, trying to block out all the memories of the alternate timeline, trying to escape into the peacefulness of the wind blowing gently as she sat on the stone bench beneath the sacred tree. The smell of green tea enter her nose and startled her, making her whip her head up and see the violet eyes of her future daughter.

“Here you go, Mama,” Izayoi said sweetly, handing her the cup before sitting down next to her.

The gentle draping of a blanket over her shoulders made her almost jump until Izayoi rested her hand on her shoulder. Two golden orbs appeared in front of her, blinking, making her giggle from the curiosity. 

“Moroha, hi,” Kagome greeted.

Shelter

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

How was Naraku alive? How was he in their hut? How was that damn puppet surrounding them with his vines?

His evil laugh was menacing and shook him through his human body. Inuyasha had only one thing on his mind, even though his mind screamed to run and get away: protect Kagome.

Love Again

“So aside from animal cruelty, why don’t you eat meat?” Inuyasha asked as he bit into his hamburger.

“Personal choice, I guess. I never loved it–not really. Then I guess when I was out on my own I just made the decision to cut it out. If I was cooking for me or ordering for me, why did I have to have something I didn’t need or really want?”

“So, you can make decisions then.”

“Look here,” Kagome scoffed, narrowing her eyes to see the smirk in Inuyasha’s, glowing and making her heart do backflips and nearly come up her throat.

It sucked that she was…stuck. In her current predicament. Her shoulder hurt. She was constantly on too strong pain-killers. But she was pretty sure one good rub of the fabric between her legs would make her orgasm. Kagome wanted Inuyasha.

It had been a long time. A long time. She hadn’t lied or exaggerated about that. But she was just tired of dating–tired of screwing random people–an itch was better satisfied using a vibrator or her fingers than a stranger who clearly had no idea how to use his fingers. 

But Inuyasha was too–protective. Genuine. Kind. Kagome was still pretty certain he was in denial and wanted to wait for things to evolve more after her shoulder was healed. But that didn’t kill her lady-boner.

Holding out for a Hero

They didn’t emerge from their room for a couple of days. Sango had taken to making sure they were getting meals, knocking the door and calling to them before disappearing. Kagome could only surmise that it was instinct pulling to bond over and over. She blushed, thinking it didn’t help how amazing it felt for him to make her release over and over, as well. She heard a chuckle, the slight exhale causing her ear to flicker (something she was still getting used to day in and day out), and turned her head to see him smiling down at her. He kissed her shoulder and heart fluttered in response.

They were married. 

They were officially bonded. 

“We probably need to show our faces, lord husband,” she purred (literally) and blushed at the sound coming from her chest. Again, she still wasn’t quite used to the changes within and around her body.

Inuyasha chuckled again and nuzzled his face against her back, “They woulda came knockin’ if things were fallin’ apart.”

“Inuyasha—”

“This is our room. This is our space. What if it’s different out there?”

His vulnerability surprised her. Turning in his arms so that she was cradled by him instead of being spooned, she brought her hands to his face and carefully traced his cheekbones in comfort before going straight to his ears. “Nothing is different here than out there. I am wedded to you–body and soul. Let us show them–show everyone how I have dedicated myself to you. Also, I think we need to let others know that we will not be taking over this region, do you not agree?”

Kagome sighed and pouted a bit and he realized he was being a jackass. “Sorry, ‘Gome. I—I guess I just feel bad that you’re stuck there and you’re stressed out. It wasn’t supposed to be like this when you came. I–I let you down.”

“How did you do that?? You didn’t create the pandemic or this virus. This is just a tough spot,” Kagome tried to soothe. “I’m just being a baby and sensitive.”

“Keh. You have every right to be when you’re there with Emily.”

“Inuyasha, be nice. You know that she isn’t my main stressor. It’s been alright–just you know–a little weird since you’ve been gone for so long.”

“She still being fair?” Inuyasha asked, ears perked up and ready to jump through the screen if he had to in order to protect Kagome. Emily wasn’t mean or ill-spirited but he also wasn’t sure exactly what to expect from her either with him gone.

“Of course. She is still very grateful for the room and board.”

“Any word on her moving out?”

“No. None. But uh–about that–”

“What,” Inuyasha growled in annoyance.

Kagome scoffed and rolled her eyes. “I haven’t really pushed the idea on her just with everything going on.”

“Amazon packages still arriving?” Inuyasha questioned flatly and Kagome pursed her lips and nodded in response along with naming a couple of other different ones that had made their way to their doormat. “Yeah, she does that.”

“I just, uhm–I don’t know if it’s my place to say anything about it?”

“I guess if we want her out–”

“It’s fine for now!” Kagome cut him off, frantically, a forced smile on her face and turned away from the monitor. “Hey Em! Dinner??” 

Kagome, still protecting people who didn’t deserve it. Typical. At least she was acting like her normal self. “Whatever. We don’t gotta talk about that. But go ahead and get food, I need to get myself something too.”

“Oh! By the way, did Miroku text you?” Kagome asked, turning back to him.

Inuyasha raised his eyebrow and looked down at his phone and realied that yes, the idiot had messaged him and he’d just ignored it. Talking to Kagome and playing Candy Crush just happened to be more important. He opened the text and it said ‘Game night?’ “I guess he means a virtual game night?”

“Yeah, Sango got an app for school to help everyone relax a little bit to get up and stretch so she has tons of online games we can play together.”

“Sure, why not. Not like you can throw the coffee-table when you get mad for losing and this time, you can’t accuse no one of cheatin;.”

“Don’t act like you know me,” Kagome said, sticking her tongue out. That’s the Kagome he knew.

kikyo chose to travel alone, she didn't want inuyasha's love anymore, she wanted revenge on him(when she didn't know it was naraku all along) . kikyo knew she died and she count her days on earth only for revenge (stopping naraku). remember how she killed a monk once for interfering her plan and tried to kill inuyasha? well that ended once she knew it was naraku all along.

kikyo's tale is not of love but revenge.

“Front Piece” chapter 5 sneak peek.

(aka, the dinner from hell 😈)

When he arrived home after an awful workday, Inuyasha found Kikyo and Yura running like headless chickens around the kitchen and dining room, making sure everything looked perfect for her family’s impending arrival. Yura was even wearing the maid uniform reserved for such occasions. The petite woman absolutely hated the fucking thing, and Inuyasha couldn’t blame her. She wasn’t a maid, she was the other lady of the house, but Yura was willing to do anything for Kikyo—especially after Tsubaki had berated her daughter for picking such an “inferior worker” upon meeting the young woman.

“Calm down, you two! Everything’s going to be fucking fine!” he hollered as he went up to his room to take a quick shower.

After an entire day wearing a suit, Inuyasha sure as fucking hell wasn’t in the mood to wear another, but alas… the fucking dinner required it.

Appearances and all that shit.

The fact that Kagome took a personal day off didn’t help his mood. Inuyasha had wanted to see her and ask about her encounter with Naraku. And if he was honest with himself, also ask her about the mystery man who had picked her up.

No matter what Yura or Kikyo told him, Inuyasha was almost certain that Kagome had a boyfriend. How could she not? She was beautiful, she was fun, she was kind, she had a smile that lit up a room. How could a girl like her be single?

No fucking way she was single.

“Damn it,” he muttered, refraining himself from punching the bathroom tile.

Kikyo double-checked the cutlery, making sure it sparkled and was perfectly aligned on the table. She honestly didn't care about perfection, but she just couldn’t take any more jabs and criticism. It was just one night, she could survive one night pretending she and Inuyasha were the perfect couple in front of her parents.

She could do this.

It was one night, and then they wouldn’t visit for at least another month. Her mother just couldn't stand being in the same room with both Yura and Inuyasha for too long; Tsubaki’s dislike for them was a blessing in disguise. Kikyo felt horrible for thinking so, but it was what it was. If it wasn’t for that fact, her parents would visit more often.

“The chicken’s in the oven. It’s done, but I’m keeping it warm in there,” Yura said, smoothing her uniform as she exited the kitchen.

Even though it looked good on her for kinky reasons, Kikyo hated seeing Yura wearing it and pretending to be someone she was not. Yura was her woman, her rock, her life. Not her maid.

But they had to pretend or things would get bad.

“Thank you,” she replied, hugging Yura and kissing her softly, “I know how much you hate pretending.”

Kikyo felt her shrug. “Yeah, but I also understand why.”

“You’re the best.”

Inuyasha’s footsteps reached them, and the girls pulled apart. “Ready to get this fucking show on the road?” he said, staring at his watch before looking at them.

Kikyo gulped. No, she was not ready, but what else could she do?

Silva

🟣 Silva was indifferent to her, he assumed that if she was allowed to officially be a part of the family that it would encourage Killua to come back to the family. 🟣 He was weary of her, he knew that people weren’t above using children to gather information and she seemed perfect to be a spy, quiet, small and ordinary or so he thought. 🟣 Silva spent a long time watching her, gathering information that he could find for her and eventually coming to the conclusion that you weren’t a spy or even a threat to the family, especially after taking a trip to meet her father (who didn’t have anything nice to say). 🟣 Kianna was uncomfortable around Silva given her history with father figures but Silva was definitely different to her father in so many ways but they became closer after she proved herself by protecting Killua. 🟣 It took a long time before either of them could talk to the other, mostly because Kianna was afraid and Silva had no interest in the opposite gender or speaking to them. 🟣 Kianna earned her place in the family through torture and manipulation of their targets and brought back valuable information when she came back. 🟣 They were never closer than what you would call a business relationship but I don’t think that Silva is particularly close with any of his children.

Kikyo

👒 Kikyo did not like Kianna, she did not trust her and hated that she had managed to gain the respect of most of the children in a very short amount of time. 👒 Kikyo watched her everywhere that she went and the only reason that she never hurt her was because Killua wanted her there. 👒 After that was pointed out to her, she started to try and get to know Kianna because maybe Killua would spend more time at home if Kianna liked being there. 👒 Kianna never felt very safe around Kikyo, she had the same personality traits as her father and she was sure that one wrong move would land her a hit to the face or some other part of her body. 👒 Kikyo became more amicable of her after seeing her torture someone for the first time and get the information that they needed out of them, she was exceptionally good at it. 👒 They would never be very close but they learned to live together or at the very least they were able to live in the same house when they needed to without almost killing anyone.

Zeno

🐉 Zeno was the only one that tried to get to know her as a person outside of being a friend of Killua or a potential threat, he was so strong that he didn’t need to worry about any of it. 🐉 Kianna found his presence to be calming, every member of the family listened to him and he meant her no harm, despite already knowing most of Kianna’s history from various different sources he wanted her to tell him. 🐉 Zeno was the one who told the rest of the family about her abilities in manipulation and torture after she told him. 🐉 He liked her because she made Killua happy, and that was all that he wanted for the kids of the family and you were a strong ally to have given all of your skills. 🐉 Actually advocates for her when talking to other members of the family, which gets Silva and Kikyo to take a step back and really look at her. 🐉 He’s inclined to spend the most time with her out of all of the adults and is likely to oversee the training that she’s put through to make sure that no one was too hard on her. 🐉 He’s probably the closest of the adult members of the family and the one that she’d go to if there was a problem and he’d definitely listen.

I feel like Kikyo hates Kagome on the basis that she exists solely because shes her reincarnation and she got to life the kind of life Kikyo never have. Which would explain a lot of things, but it just makes me hate her even more. She was despicable to Kagome, who didn't choose to be her reincarnation and if she's angry at her for shattering the shikon no tama.. that's fair but she gave the shard to Naraku so she has no room to talk. No wonder Kagome wanted her dead or gone one time.

Also, as a warning, this post is critical of Kikyo, so while I'm open to conversations about interpretations of the character, you should feel free to skip it if you think it might be upsetting to you! I know it can be unpleasant to see a comfort character being criticized and I don't want people to read things that would make them feel bad.

There's definitely an element of truth to that, at least at the beginning of the manga, though how much it actually has to do with Kagome being Kikyo's reincarnation is up for interpretation. In their first interaction, Kikyo is pretty dismissive of Kagome because she sees her as an extension of herself basically.

I don't remember it coming up again though, but I could be mistaken because it's been a while since I've read the manga!

Kikyo's problems with Kagome do stem from her... maybe not living the life she wanted, but doing things she wanted to do, but at that point Kikyo sees Kagome as her own person (and I'd argue that's part of the problem, actually, but that's, again, up for interpretation).

The thing is that I, personally, don't really mind that as character motivation? Like obviously it's shitty, but I like Kikyo having this fundamentally, though ugly, human emotion. It makes sense, it works well with her. I was rereading these chapters and I thought, again, that Kikyo was such a good villain in the beginning. A tortured, tragic one that you could have empathy for, sure, but a villain nonetheless. I hate her in these chapters, but it's the good, fun (though infuriating lol) kind of hate, and I totally get why other people would like her. I mean, look at how villainous this is:

Again, could 100% be wrong but I don't remember her talking about the Shikon no Tama breaking, though you're right that it would make sense since that was her life's work and she had done everything she could to ensure the Jewel wouldn't hurt people again.

After that, Kikyo slowly gets worse (as a person, not as a character), up until the moment when she does the unforgivable: she tries to kill Kagome and gives Naraku the shards. That part is still interesting to me, because it's a profoundly selfish decision to make, and it shows how far she, someone who had been selfless her whole life, had come. She wanted to be the one to purify the Jewel and to kill him, herself, probably out of pure personal satisfaction (I'd argue she/Rumiko tries to make it look selfless but... it's just not).

My problems with her as a character mostly come after that, precisely because that stuff is dropped completely by the story. After that, Kikyo's dislike for Kagome is kinda just... there? And her motivations for it become a lot more blurry, which I find annoying. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Rumiko should have spoon-fed us everything. I like having to think about things, in general. But it doesn't mean it was well-handled. Like, when Kagome saves Kikyo's life, this is Kikyo's reaction:

And like, okay, the whole thing is that Kikyo thinks that Kagome wouldn't have wanted to save her, and Kagome didn't even have to think about it. She would never have let her die. My problem with that is that I can't think of a reason Kikyo would have to expect Kagome to do that that doesn't require you to look for complex explanations that aren't all that supported in text. So I can say, "well maybe Kikyo would have hesitated so she's projecting it on Kagome" (which we never see) or "Kikyo knows that she's tried to kill Kagome so it would make sense if Kagome wanted her dead" (which hasn't been addressed for over 150 chapters at this point), but I can't come to a satisfying conclusion... Even worse, the actual answer that makes the most sense in text, I think, is "Kikyo thinks that Kagome would be willing to sacrifice her so there wouldn't be interferences between her and Inuyasha" which just feels super shallow to me when these two have much more legitimate problems than 'you're a problem between me and my boyfriend >:( '. (That's because by then, Rumiko has almost completely reduced their conflict to... boys problems.)

So, that's the thing. Kagome never really wanted Kikyo dead or gone. Whenever there was a risk Kikyo could die, she always did what was necessary to ensure it didn't happen; this isn't the only example of that.

Was Kikyo super shitty to Kagome at times? Absolutely! And I think it's completely fair to dislike her for that. I know I do. I also think that your interpretation of it makes total sense and is definitely somewhat supported in canon. But to me, this weird, almost apathetic dislike that we're shown in the second half of the story is a much bigger problem.

This is a entry for day 11 of @inuvember event Inuvember 2023 featuring Naraku.

Due to his origins of being made of thousands of demons, Naraku knew that he is the greatest demon of this land, but he must stay hidden until the Shikon Jewel return. Naraku has crated a perfect plant to eliminate its guardian and corrupt the Shikon Jewel so he can use it to control the world, only for the miko to have herself cremate with the jewel. For now, Naraku must wait and prepare his skills.

As Naraku walk in the trail, a voice of a man call out, “Demon, I can sense you!” Naraku turn around and see a monk, whose said, “I sense many demoniac aura on you, demon! What are you?” Naraku chuckle and said, “I’m Naraku, the demon of thousand Yokai! Begone monk, or joined a certain miko I killed years ago.” A part of Naraku think to himself, ‘Why am I taunting about killing Kikyo? I made myself a demon so that she would be mine and mine alone!’ The monk send spiritual energy on Naraku, which destroyed his arm. Naraku was in shocked as he was not expecting anyone to be as powerful as Kikyo, and he can’t die now. The monk send another spiritual energy attack, which send Naraku flying and it was fortunate for him that Naraku was not killed right away, but he still must get away. Naraku wouldn’t dare challenge this monk and he flee into the woods, with the monk calling out to him, “Cowardly demon, you will not escape justice for your crimes for long! I, Miyatsu, will hunt you down to the end of my days!”

After losing Miyatsu, Naraku get a moment to catch his breath. He can’t that they was one more powerful than Kikyo that could post a threat to his plans. Naraku need to eliminate him before the Shikon Jewel can return.

One night, Miyatsu appear at a village and head to the local brothel for the night, with hopefully a beautiful woman as a companion. Miyatsu noticed that everyone seem to go to their beds, and he hope that the brothel is still open for tonight.

As he enter, a woman with unnatural beauty walk up to Miyatsu and said to him, “Welcome, sir. May I entertain you for tonight?” Miyatsu happily said, “Yes, please.” Miyatsu follow the woman, but he didn’t noticed the bodies of other women hidden in another room with a almost closed door.

As Miyatsu feel the woman, one of her body turn into a spike that goes through his right hand, and he quickly fall to the ground in pain. Looking at his wounds, Miyatsu find that it has become a hole on his palm that start to suck everything around him in. As the monk try to stop it, the woman raise and said in the voice of a man as her eyes turn red, “To think that the monk that was chasing me was sinful for women.” Miyatsu realized who the woman really is, “Naraku!” The demon laugh and said, “The Kazaana create a vortex to bring many to you as well suppressed some of your cursed power, monk! Your son and your male descendants will bear this curse, and it will grow big over time until it will sucked you in!” Naraku flee the scene as the Kazaana cause the whole empty village to be suck in.

YEARS LATER....

Naraku lay in wait for the pair coming his way, and he can sense that the taller one is indeed Inuyasha’s brother. That cursed dog demon whose steal Kikyo’s heart and is working with Miyatsu’s grandson with gathering the Shikon Jewel shards. This plan of his will destroyed the blood of two of his hated enemies and he got the attention of the pair, “Pardon me, but are you the mighty Sesshomaru?” Sesshomaru turn and ask Naraku, “Yes. Who are you?” The demon simply reply, “I’m Naraku. I want to help you defeat Inuyasha.”

How do you find interviews that Rumiko has done about Inuyasha? Google doesn’t give me much info. The most I could find was the character profile thingies and some stuff on twitter. I feel like there’s a lot of fandom hc that just kinda get accepted into C without any real sources?? I’m so confused about where people are getting their information. I was hoping to find some forums or translated message boards but nope :(

The #1 source for translations of Rumiko Takahashi interviews is @rumic-world (rumicworld1 on twitter), you can find all the interviews on their website furinkan.com (here). Dylan & Harley Acres have been die-hard fans of Rumiko Takahashi for like, 20+ years, and they collect everything they can find about her. Their translations tend to be reliable and unbiased from what I heard.

For recent interviews, especially regarding everything related to Yashahime, @ayuuria has translated almost all of them on their blog.

And finally @inu-fanon was a fan translator of the IY manga and they debunked a lot of misinformation & mistranslations in the fandom on their blog. I also found a few verifiable info about Rumiko from them that I didn't find anywhere else.

If someone tells you "Rumiko said that" but they can't link back to these people, or they can't provide a screenshot or link to the source in Japanese, I would not believe what they're saying, lol.

Some classic "Rumiko said" that are false: - "Kagome doesn't age in the feudal era because she's from the future so she can live for a long time with Inuyasha" this was on Kagome's page on a fan wiki called "Heroes Wiki" with no source but it looks like they removed it. - "Inuyasha was meant to end up with Kikyo and Kagome was meant to go back to the future but Rumiko was pressured by fans to make inukag endgame" or "Rumiko only made Inukag endgame because Kagome's VA told her to" (the source for this is a Spanish blogpost which mistranslated this interview (Q4) where Rumiko said that she hesitated about "which world" Kagome was going to choose but in the end she felt like Kagome would be living "with half a soul" without Inuyasha so she went with what was best for Kagome). - "Inuyasha was confirmed to be 200 years old & aging slowly. " The profile book only says Inuyasha is "15 (in human years)" which could be a reference to him being sealed for 50 years. In 2001 Rumiko said she doesn't know how hanyo ages, only that she wrote Inuyasha to be 15 so he's the same age as Kagome. In 2020 she said that Inuyasha, Kagome and Moroha "age at about the same pace as the timeframe of the story. Signs of their aging may show up decades later." which to me means they age like humans. The Inuyasha is 200 years old thing is from the third movie and everything anime-only is non-canon to me.

There's probably others but you get the idea! I know all this because Inuyasha is my special interest and I need to know EVERYTHING there is to know about the series lmaoo ✌ Also because I hate 90% of the popular fanon for the series, especially for inukag.
