one of the main takeaways from the Ides of March assassination is that maybe you should not go into the office every day

As a palate cleanser, a topical and slightly humorous story…
My senior year in high school, our Latin Club held an Ides of March party after school on said Ides, complete with pizza and, well, pizza. The spectacle for the party was a re-enactment of the assassination of Julius Cæsar.
As consul that year, I got to play the part of Cæsar, and two underclassmen were Brutus and Cassius, who stabbed me to “death” with…a banana 🍌
(As one does when mock-assassinating a historical figure at public school!)
Cave Īdūs Mārtiās!
