Tumblr media
What were you supposed to do when you found out your (ex-)boyfriend was cheating on you days before Valentine’s Day?
Easy: you fuck his friend.
Admittedly, the stunt wasn’t that calculated. And if you were to debate semantics, the real answer to that question was to cancel your dinner reservation, which you did between sobs.
But once you pulled yourself together, you decided it was time to rip the bandage off, move on, and fuck someone else—because he certainly had. Twice, actually. The first time was a drunken accident, he told you, then the second was on purpose, but only because they ‘just so happened’ to bump into each other again.
Yeah, right.
If your ex could move on—while he was still in a relationship with you, nonetheless—then you could, too. On a whim, you redownloaded a couple of dating apps and dusted off your old profiles. You weren’t looking for anything in particular, just swiping and swiping and swiping. You were giving into meaningless conversations in hopes they would lead to even more meaningless sex. But that never happened. No one held your attention for a day. No one’s witty one-liners were all that witty. No one remotely excited you until…
Eren Jaeger.
You were about to swipe his profile away on impulse, but something in you gave you pause. You moved your thumb aside to look at his face, only in the first photo, but that led to the second, then the one after that.
You couldn’t say your ex’s friend was the first person you had in mind, but now that you had no ties left to him, you could finally confess you found Eren attractive. Up until now, it was merely a forbidden thought, one you had stowed away since you were first introduced. You wouldn’t dare finish the sentence, even in the sanctity of your mind, because that would make you a bad girlfriend. Eren was strictly off-limits.
Now, you could argue it was more of a grey area, which only made him all the more interesting to you. Maybe it was karma, how the universe ‘just so happened’ to drop Eren into your lap.
No, it had to be karma because why else would it have been an instant match between you? Eren had already made his choice. Dug his own grave, so to speak. But it was you who decided you would make this mess together.
Didn’t think I’d see you on here.
You wondered if Eren even knew about the breakup, let alone the details of it. You made it crystal clear for him.
I didn’t think I’d have to dump your friend for cheating on me, but here we are :)
His reply: Fuck, you serious? I’m sorry.
It arrived in two separate messages, and strangely enough, it disarmed you. Not because of his sentiment but because of the familiarity, the specific sense of comfort he evoked. For once, it wasn’t a grueling performance where each of you would spend no less than fifteen minutes crafting every message.
You knew Eren well enough—about as well as anyone knew their boyfriend’s friends, as deep as conversations shared in loud sports bars. When you thought about meeting up with him, your stomach didn’t pit the way it did when you imagined a stranger.
So I figured I deserved to have a little fun now that I’m single.
You weren’t forthright with it, but the intent was obvious enough. And God, it sent him absolutely reeling. From Eren’s perspective, you were entirely off-limits. Like blaring horns and flashing-red-lights level of off-limits. He couldn’t just go and fuck his friend’s ex-girlfriend!
But he was going to.
Which brought you to tonight; not just any old Friday night, but Valentine’s Day. You could have complained about it, but getting drinks with Eren consoled your ego more than spending the day alone. Though you could do without the incidental comments mistaking you and Eren as a lovestruck couple.
“Happy Valentine’s Day. You make a stunning couple, by the way,” the bartender said. Earnestly, too, in the way you could tell she wasn’t just doing her job.
“That’s all her,” Eren replied, tossing you a cheeky grin.
Okay, maybe the night wasn’t all that bad.
Halfway through your second drink, you drummed up the courage to ask the question you weren’t sure you wanted to hear the answer to.
Stirring your drink, you asked, “You didn’t know about it, did you?”
You didn’t need to specify what ‘it’ was before Eren answered, “Of course not.”
You found relief knowing you weren’t the only clueless one, the person ambling around with the ‘kick me!’ note taped to your back for everyone’s entertainment.
“Of course not,” you repeated. A confident answer if you’d ever heard one. You sat higher in your seat, interested. “What do you mean by that?”
“I mean, I would’ve told him to come clean about it. Any of us would’ve,” Eren said, listing a few of your mutual friends. Well, they were just your ex’s friends now; you had nothing in common with them anymore.
“And,” his gaze lifted from the drink swirling in his hand to you, “maybe I was waiting for you to break up.”
Your eyes narrowed, but your smile widened. “Why?”
“You’re full of questions tonight,” he said with a slight laugh. He took a long sip. “Isn’t the answer kinda obvious?”
Between the lines, you read: Because I wanted tonight to happen. Because I wanted to get with you. Because I want to fuck you.
You tossed back the rest of your drink, slammed it back onto the bartop with, “Your place then?”
And that was exactly how you wound up back at his apartment, in his bed. With limbs strewn amongst tousled sheets. With legs pulled apart and his hand between, fingers buried inside you, working in tandem with his thumb against your clit.
You could hardly hold your eyes open, only catching glimpses of him fucking you with his fingers through fluttering eyes. He’d found a rhythm you could only describe as mind-numbing, leaving you desperate and twitchy in his arms.
It didn’t take long for him to get you nearly there; for either of you to get each other half-naked, with him stripped to his boxers, and you with panties still circling your ankle, shirt shoved over your tits; for him to have you slick with hot desire after a few chaste kisses placed thoughtfully against your neck.
It had been over a year, nearly two, since you’d last been with anyone other than your ex-boyfriend. You’d forgotten the dizzying rush that came along with it. The exhilaration of someone new’s hands exploring your body for the first time, discovering the parts they like best. Every touch came as a surprise, keeping you teetering the edge in the best way possible, with your mouth slack and gasping, and your skin prickling in delight.
You puffed an exhale when Eren slipped his fingers from you. It was a much-needed moment of respite, allowing you to steady your shallow breaths, but you ached for release just as much, squeezing your thighs together like you could replicate the loss.
Eren indulged himself with a taste, bringing his fingers to his mouth to lick them clean. Before you could register it, he used the same fingers to grasp your jaw, angling you for a kiss. Heat radiated through your stomach as you tasted yourself, the muscles clenching hotly as his tongue rolled against yours.
You lightly pushed him down onto his back and crawled atop. You straddled him, perched on your knees as you worked his boxers down until they were out of your way. His cock bounced to tap his lower stomach, only for you to ignore it.
You made yourself comfortable, palms flattened to his chest, with your cunt settled against his ungiving abdominals. You rocked your hips, teasing not only him but yourself as you showed him just how wet, how warm, you were.
You made a mess of him, your arousal coating his front and the pretty trail of hair leading to his insistent cock. Swollen and begging for your attention, you felt it resting against the curve of your ass, jolting with every one of your little movements, and your little moans to match.
Sitting a bit higher this time, you took him in your hand and slipped him between you. You glided your soft cunt over the length of him, back and forth, your head lolling to one side as you enjoyed the steady pressure of the head of his cock nudging your clit.
“Fuck, that’s so hot,” Eren groaned. His voice lowered, grew breathier, encouraging you with every word.
He placed his hands on the tops of your thighs, squeezing and smoothing over them, guiding you from a languid pace to something less torturous. Your hips spasmed then, your mouth dropping to a small O for him to pop his thumb into, wetting it before circling your clit.
You were caught in the headrush, in the frissons pulsing through your being before overtaking you like a power surge. Something came over you, you didn’t know what, but when you decided you needed him inside you right then and there, you told him, “I have an idea.”
Despite his better judgment, Eren would probably do just about anything you asked if it meant he could fuck you. Even if it entailed him recording the act just to send to his friend in some sort of revenge scheme.
He couldn’t tell if you were serious at first, but your eyes were full of purpose when you asked for his help a second time, throwing in a ‘pretty please’ and all.
Eren knew he wasn’t thinking straight, but frankly, he didn’t care. Seeing you, like this, he found his friend an even bigger idiot than before. How could he possibly give this up?
So that was how he would justify sending his friend a video of him fucking his ex-girlfriend raw.
Eren angled his phone so the camera only captured you from the waist down. The video would remain entirely anonymous to just about anyone—except you, Eren, and your ex. He wouldn’t need to see your face to recognize you; he would be able to tell even as you sat reverse cowgirl on Eren’s lap. He would recognize your giggle of a moan as Eren pinned your wrists against the dip in back with a single hand, and recognize your frantic whines as he began to fuck up into you.
While the video was intended for your ex, that didn’t mean Eren couldn’t film it for himself just as much. It was hedonistic, the way he spread the fat of your ass for a better view, filming how your pussy gripped him so fucking perfectly. He thumbed over your tight hole, letting the camera catch the cute way you flexed in response. Eren touched you wherever he pleased, every place your ex no longer could.
He yanked you down on him, stealing your breath as you cried, “Oh, fuck, Eren. I’m gonna come.”
Eren watched you on the screen of his phone, watched how your body slacked with disappointment when he pulled out just shy of your orgasm. You thought it was an accident until he stopped you from putting it back in. You let out a pathetic whine of his name as your greedy cunt clenched around nothing.
“So impatient,” Eren tutted, his voice teeming with self-satisfaction as he stroked himself at the sight.
He locked his phone and tossed it to the other side of the bed. It was becoming a needless distraction from what he really wanted. He sat upright, pushing you down onto all fours.
If he was going to make you come, he wanted it to be on his face.
You expected to feel his cock bullying at your entrance, but he met you with something much gentler: his tongue lapping a broad stripe through you. Your toes curled like he had licked a spark up your spine as he continued flicking and focusing on your clit.
He was methodic with it, dedicated to your undoing. He found the pressure you liked, the right speed, then he stuck to it.
Your head dropped between your shoulders as you panted, “Ah, hah—that feels so fucking good. Don’t—don’t stop.”
He wouldn’t dream of it, licking and licking you until you came crashing down, quite literally. Your orgasm stole whatever strength remained in your wobbly elbows, and your chest collapsed to the bed. It put such a pretty arch in your back, your ass high in the air for Eren to push back inside your fluttering, now sopping cunt.
Your mouth fell open with a silent yelp, smothered by your cheek smushed in the sheets. You were so sensitive, whimpering with every maddening ram of his hips, but all you could think about was how you wanted a recording of this, the obscene sight in the mirror opposite you.
Eren’s eyes were trained on your reflection, dedicated and concentrated as if you would disappear if he dared to look away. He was mesmerized by you, your body, every bounce of it as he tugged you back by your hips.
You caught his eye in the reflection, his sharpened gaze meeting your dreamy—or as he’d call it, fucked-out—one. You reached a hand back to try and touch him, fingertips barely grazing his thigh.
“Don’t worry, pretty girl. I’m not going anywhere,” Eren shushed softly, contrasting the harsh, deep, thrust that had your vision spotting white.
You didn’t notice when his movements turned sloppy or how shameless he became in getting himself off the more it closed in on him.
He curved a hand around your neck, just beneath your jaw. He tilted your head back to look at him, not with a choking force but with a caress of your face. It was tender despite the filthy way he asked you, “He never fucked you like this, did he? Never made you feel this good, like you deserved.”
You could only moan incoherently, but Eren felt his word’s effect on you. Your walls throbbed around him, like you were sucking him in for more. You wanted more.
He pinched your cheeks together. “Tell me what you deserve.”
Your voice was a moony babble, barely-there whispers of, “To make you come. Please, Eren. Come for me.”
He moaned—practically whined—at your unexpected pleas, quite possibly the hottest thing he’d ever heard. He didn’t last another second before pulling out just in time, pumping his come across your back.
You finally let your heavy limbs drop to the bed, shooting Eren a lazy smile over your shoulder. He breathlessly returned it, running a hand through his hair. He plucked a few tissues from his nightstand and wiped you off before you rolled onto your back.
You watched the rise and fall of your chest, the valley between your breasts sporting a thin layer of sweat as you sweltered in the heady bedroom. You stayed like that for what felt like too long, leading Eren to worry he was too rough.
He propped himself on his elbow, pushing some of your hair from your face to get a good look at you. When he asked if you were okay, you assured him you were. You were only a bit dazy, basking in the comedown of it all.
Eren remembered the recording and searched for his phone. He flipped through it, ready to ask if you seriously wanted him to send it to your ex-boyfriend (and secretly crossing his fingers you wouldn't ask him to delete it), when he interrupted himself with, “Fuck.”
“What?” you asked, unbothered and lying there with your eyes closed.
“I didn’t press record,” he groaned.
You shot upright. “Seriously?”
“Sorry, I was a little occupied,” he deflected. You pulled a face. “Listen, I’m just as disappointed as you. Trust me.”
You flopped back to the bed with a sigh. You supposed it didn’t matter much; who knew if you even had the courage to send it anyway?
Eren thought it over as another silent minute passed between you. He had already crossed the point of no return, so surely, there was no harm in innocently asking, "We could try again, you know?"

Keegan Russ x reader
3.5k | fluff, second chance, childhood friends
You matched with Keegan on Tinder
@glitterypirateduck’s holiday challenge, inspired by I Don’t Do Drugs by Doja Cat
“No way.” You shook your head. “Not Keegan goddamn Russ.” You chuckled as you stared at his profile.
It had been over 15 years since you saw him last. His teeth might have been straight, bowl cut replaced by a far more fitting fade cut, but his sharp blue eyes and easy smile remained. They were unmistakable.
This dude hadn’t crossed your mind in years, but you were pleasantly surprised to see he’d grown to be a tall and athletic Marine. You hated to admit that he got hot, even that not having a stupid haircut wasn’t a very high bar to begin with.
You zeroed in on his smile again. He was attractive and he knew it. He couldn’t have been there for anything serious.
You laughed to yourself. “What the hell,” you said and swiped right on him.
At the other end of town, Keegan laid in bed, swiping mindlessly on his phone.  Left… Left… Oh!? … Yeah, another left… Until his hand froze when he saw your card.
“Goddamn,” he muttered as he rolled to his side, clutching his phone. Where the hell were you all this time?
He took his time ogling your photos. The first one was a full body picture, your figure on display in your tight jeans. The second was a selfie, your eyes bright, donning a brilliant smile and glossy lips. The last two were group photos. He loved your style – comfortable yet tasteful. Your genuine laughter and the twinkle in your eye as you sat among your friends mesmerised him.
Okay, so you were the life of the party.
Keegan often worried about not having enough to say and preferred chattier dates who’d lead the conversation. Evidently, he didn’t have to worry about that with you…  Because you probably wouldn’t even look at him twice. With looks like that, you could have anyone.
He lied on his back and gawked at your selfie again, biting his lip.
“What the hell,” he said to himself and swiped right.
He nearly dropped his phone on his face when it chimed right away. It’s a match! He gasped.
He stared at the empty chat window, fingers drumming on his thigh as he contemplated what to say. He wished he had more game.
After a minute, he settled with a simple Hi, hope you’re doing alright :) are you from the area?
You seemed a little quiet the first day of texting, but he’d expected that, a usual occurrence in his endeavour. Keegan didn’t relent, coming up with discussions, although some he had to admit were rather lame. Soon, you asked him specific questions about himself, allowing the conversation to pour throughout the days. He stopped thinking too hard when replying.
As it turned out, you were from the same hometown. You went to different high schools, but had a few mutual friends, although none he knew anymore. He barely kept in contact with anyone back home safe for the handful of his close high school friends.
Now that he reached for his phone far more often on base, grinning at that, it took no time for people to notice the newfound habit.
“We need to tell command someone’s hardly working.” Ajax nudged Kick, nodding at Keegan at the far end of the rec room. “He keeps looking at that one selfie.”
He chuckled. “If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. Don’t get catfished, bro.”
“Or ghosted.” Ajax roared in laughter. He had no business sounding so proud of his pun.
Keegan’s eyes narrowed at them before looking back down at his phone. He wasn’t going to let his buddies stop him from sending you the What kind of bread are you? quiz.
At night, it’d also become a routine to text. He didn’t want to get ahead of himself, but it grew to be the highlight of his day. He could unwind and laugh with you without having to wait long to have you text back. His bed felt less empty, a little less cold.
“I’d really like to meet you. You’re wonderful,” he said longingly at his phone.
He knew he wanted to after the third day, but didn’t initiate a date in fear of moving too fast and appalling you. But after over a week, with his next deployment inching closer, he’d grown impatient and a bit mad at himself for overthinking the matter. He didn’t remember asking anyone on a date being that unnerving.
Unprompted, your name flashed across his screen, sending his heart racing. Keegan sat up and cleared his throat before answering.
“Hey,” he said with as much smoothness as he could muster.
“Hi, Keegan.”
He could hear the smile in your voice, and he prayed he had even a fraction of the effect you had on him, on you.
“I was wondering if you’re into soccer?”
His brows furrowed. Hell no, he wasn’t at all.
“You want to watch the World Cup screening with me Saturday night?”
But for you? Well for you, he was the biggest fan in town.
“Sure,” he answered immediately. He couldn’t believe his ears. Was it Christmas already?
“For dinner, there’s a taco truck I like near the sports bar, if you’d like to try.”
He tried not to smile too much, but he was failing miserably. He was two seconds away from puking out the butterflies in his stomach.
“Sounds great,” he breathed. “I’m looking forward to meeting you.”
“Me too.” Your easy voice calmed him.
Kick’s comment crossed his mind. He stilled for a moment and decided he didn’t care what you looked like. The little of you he got to know the past week was enough to get him hooked.
“Well, I only wanted to ask that. I’m going to bed.”
“So soon?”
You let out a small laugh. Oh, he wanted to stay on the phone all night.
“Talk to you again tomorrow, okay? Send me more quizzes.”
After you hung up, he bit down a silly grin as he pulled up your photos again.
The following night, struck with a sudden burst of confidence, Keegan called when you were both in bed. He’d expected the pauses on his end (which was why he always preferred texting), but you didn’t seem to mind. At least he knew you weren’t opposed to talking to him. You stayed on the line for half an hour, your laughter lulled his reeling mind.
Saturday couldn’t have come sooner. He’d shaved that morning and put on some cologne before taking way too long to pick an outfit. He hoped it didn’t look like he was trying too hard.
You declined his offer to pick you up. He didn’t take it personally - he was a patient man after all. But when he’d arrived a little too early, he started to lose his cool the longer he leaned on the streetlamp.
He had to do a double take when he caught sight of you walking towards him. Oh, look at the way you lit up, your smile the same brilliant one like in your photos. You were in those delightful jeans again, your hair bouncing to your steps. He straightened up and met you halfway.
“Hi,” you said when you got to him.
“Hey.” His smile didn’t waver. “You look great.”
You took the words out of his lips, the words that he already had so few of. This was the opposite of catfish because you were far prettier in real life. He needed you to hold his hand because he wasn’t going to look where he was going.
He couldn’t wait to brag to Kick and Ajax.
You looked up at him, eyes bright. “Thank you. You look nice yourself.”
He followed you to join the short queue. He stole a glance as you ordered.
“I’ll have what she’s having,” he said to the cook, giving your hand a gentle nudge when you tried to pay.
First skin contact. Innocent enough.
But why did it get so warm all of a sudden? He hoped he wasn’t sweating. Fuck, he didn’t know what to do with his hands. Should he shove them in his pockets? How close was the acceptable distance to stand next to you?
Well, he certainly stood close enough for you to catch a faint waft of his cologne.
You meant it when you said he looked good. He wore a light jacket over a black shirt, light washed jeans and sneakers. His jet black hair was styled, a little longer than in his photos. The way he stood with his hands in his pockets accentuated his build, his watch a nice touch.
Sure, curiosity got you at first. It quickly came to light that he didn’t recognise you – granted you used a nickname – but you found it amusing nonetheless. You didn’t even mean it to get that far but after talking to him, you couldn’t help but want more.
Dating was always daunting; putting your heart on the line like that rendered you vulnerable. It wasn’t that he didn’t reciprocate – his company was delightful, but whatever you had between you felt stagnant. You thought your initial assumption was right: he wasn’t looking for anything more. Was this a mistake after all?
You sat on the bench nearby, the drinks between you. You took two bites before you stalled.
Your face twisted. “Why’s this hot?”
“Is it? Mine isn’t at all.”
“It is ridiculously hot.” You blinked the tears away.
“Can’t be. Let me try.”
You handed him the taco, instead he grabbed your wrist and leaned in for a bite.
He gave you an amused smile. “It’s not hot at all. Here, I’ll have yours.”
By now, a few drops of sweat had broken out of your forehead. You didn’t question it when he swapped the paper plates on your thighs and took a huge bite.
It wasn’t supposed to be hot! This was so uncool, at your first meeting at that. Your gaze trained on the ground as you took a small bite of his which actually tasted normal. When you looked up, it was his turn to frown.
“Wait. It is.” He put the taco down. ”It is hot.”
“I told you!”
“Oh God. Oh shit,” he hissed, scrambling for his drink. “Why is it so hot?”
You stifled a giggle. “They must have put the wrong sauce in mine, because yours tastes fine.”
“My tongue had never known such pain. What the hell is in this thing?” He continued gulping down his drink. “Oh no, it’s getting worse.” He sniffled before shoving the last half into his mouth.
“You know you don’t have to eat it, right?” You busted into laughter as he chew with all his might. “Why would you do that to yourself?”
His brows knitted, the agony in his watery eyes as clear as day. You handed him a serviette.
“That’s inhumane, but I’m a man of my word,” he said between hisses, wiping at his forehead. “My mouth is on fire. I need to inhale fire extinguisher.”
You could only offer him your drink which he gladly chugged. Still giggling, you finished your meal before making your way to the bar.
“I’m sorry, that was really embarrassing.” He grimaced through his drying tears, forehead still damp. “But at least you’re laughing. I like it when you laugh.”
You wanted to kiss him right then.
Keegan was the first man to make you willingly lose sleep in a long time, but his inaction didn’t sit right with you. Self-doubt inevitably crept up - maybe you simply weren’t his type, but you were too hooked to not at least shoot your shot despite your mounting fear of rejection. Your heart lodged in your throat when you called him that night.
Oh but his voice was so calm and soothing, and what for? He got you hanging onto every word - some straight up sounded like he was purring. Like now, he had to lean in closer and closer to talk over the noise as the bar continued to fill up. The deep rumble of his laughter so close in your ear got you biting your lip.
You didn’t want to like him so much, but here you were smiling non-stop the past hour. He’d taken his jacket off, his sturdy arms on display as he lied back. Now that was the highlight of his outfit. It didn’t help that he kept looking at you like that either; blue eyes piercing, brows striking with a cool smile.
It was unfair how effortlessly charming he was, like it was simply an unfortunate by product of being Keegan Russ, like he didn’t even mean it.
Well, evidently, Keegan was literally sweating about the humiliating incident. He sincerely hoped you wouldn’t excuse yourself to the bathroom to stand him up, but the smile hadn’t left your pretty face ever since. That was a good sign right?
Halfway into the first half, he extended his arm along the back of your seat, eyes still on the screen pretending to not notice the way your lips curled in amusement. You dragged your chair against his, thighs touching now. His fist clenched when you placed your hand on his knee.
He was secretly glad this was your first date – if he could even call it that. At least there was no pressure to keep making conversation and he could focus on your company, which he thoroughly enjoyed thus far. Was wrapping his arm around your waist an appropriate next move? He itched to be closer.
“How long have you been on Tinder?” You turned to him during halftime.
“A few months now.”
“Any luck?”
He looked away, shaking his head. “I don’t get a lot of matches, and when I do - even after many weeks of talking… Well as it turned out, people just aren’t very interested in dating long distance.”
When his eyes flicked up and met your sympathetic look, he wondered if he shouldn’t have been so honest.
“You? Any luck so far?” he asked quickly.
“I went on a few dates with someone who looked an awful lot like my first crush.” You let out a small laugh. “But that’s all. It didn’t work out.”
A speck of jealousy flickered in his chest. “Tell me about him. Your first crush.”
“Well, I was a late bloomer. It was in high school, he was a sophomore when I was a freshman.”
“Handsome dude?”
“Yes, but I actually never spoke to him.” You tilted your head and smiled. “Well, I did once, kind of. I don’t know what possessed me, but one day I walked up to him and gave him a bar of chocolate. He said thanks, and that was it.”
You looked over him. The crowd had started to move towards the bar
“I’ll get us more drinks before the wait gets too long.” You stood up.
Keegan perked up; he wasn’t going to miss his chance. When you came back, he’d mustered all his courage to tug on your wrist in the direction of his parted thighs. There was a glint in your eye as you indulged and he snaked his arm behind you, hand on his knee. You had a playful smile on your lips when you moved it to your waist and wrapped your arm around his neck.
He leaned onto your shoulder, his chest pressing against your side. He watched the way your eyes transfixed on the screen, how your glass would freeze against your lower lip at times. He couldn’t help smiling when you tensed up whenever someone got close to scoring a goal. His other arm wrapped around your waist.
He hadn’t taken his eyes off you when the bar erupted in cheers. You turned to him with a proud grin. Oh, your lips were just right there. He wasn’t going to survive the night.
Your favourite team won and you left the bar beaming. You were glad he offered to walk you home because you still wanted his presence. Your fingers curled around his forearm.
“I didn’t get to ask about your first crush.”
He chuckled to himself. “We were in fifth grade.”
“You ever told her?”
He shook his head. “She hated me. My friends used to tease her about her weight. I didn’t join in but I hung around anyway. I guess when you’re young you do dumb things to fall in.”
You remembered the raucous boys he hung out with.
“Over the summer, I convinced myself to finally say something, but she’d moved away.”
Had he not looked at where you were going, he’d have seen the shock on your face. Your heart skipped a beat. Is he talking about me?
“What was she like?”
“My memory’s fuzzy now, but she had two other girlfriends they teased too but she always stood up for them. Oh, was sassy too.” He smiled. “I used to stand around to overhear her jokes. If I laughed along, she’d stare me down until I left.”
You laughed, too hard for someone who supposedly wasn’t involved in the story. You remembered that too, the way prepubescent Keegan Russ and his dumb bowl cut scrambled away when you gave him bombastic side eye.
You couldn’t believe it. He had a crush on you?
“I think had I spoken up, we’d have been good friends.” He glanced at you with a smile. “You know, when I heard she’d moved away, I came home crying and my mum smacked me upside the head. Told me not to hang around with the shithead boys anymore.”
You stopped in your tracks and took your hand off his arm. “You really don’t recognise me?”
He turned to you, brows furrowed. “What?”
“You used to paste Superman stickers on my Barbie backpack.”
Keegan’s eyes widened. He turned away, a hand over his face, laughing out of pain. No fucking way. He wanted to disappear.
You chuckled. “A new one whenever I managed to peel the previous one off. Said they were boyfriend and girlfriend.”
“Shit, I’m so sorry. I don’t recognise you at all.” He lowered his hand. “But you don’t even have the same name?”
“It’s the internet. You’re the weird one for using your real name.”
His brows rose. “You knew it was me all along?”
“Right away.”
“And you didn’t say anything?” He shook his head. “That’s just mean.”
“Was wondering if you remembered, but we were kids. I’m not surprised you didn’t recognise me or forgot.”
The corner of his lips pulled. “Well, I didn’t forget.” And probably won’t. You haven’t left my mind the past week.
And that voice was back, of course. He definitely knew what he was doing, and still you couldn’t get enough.
“Wait, no. Is this it?” He frowned. “Did you talk to me the entire time- meet me just for this?”
“No! No. I wanted to see you.” The edge in his voice stung more than you expected. “I… I didn’t think you’d even want to, because you didn’t make a move.”
His cold eyes searched yours, making your heart ache. If only he knew how much he made you smile, how many times a day you wished he’d replied when you checked your phone. You never wanted to see that pain in his face again.
“Please don’t lead me on,” he finally said, his gaze softening. “Not when you know you don’t want this.”
You wanted to hold him. “I promise I won’t. I know it’s early to say, but I want to try.”
He took a small step towards you. “Are you sure you like me?”
Suddenly he was once again the young Keegan who couldn’t meet your eyes, asking if you wanted to share the last of his favourite chocolate with him.
“Are you?”
“Positive.” His icy blues were back on you. You saw the wary hopefulness in them.
You closed the gap, arms wrapping around his waist. You let out a small sigh as your head rested on his shoulder.
“May I see you again?” He pulled you closer, his voice lighter now. “I want to go on a date. A real one, with my first crush with the death stare.”
You laughed against his neck.
Keegan hated getting ahead of himself, not knowing how many more times his hopes could be shattered before the shards got to small to meet again. But as he held you, he let his mind drift, just a little further, just this time.
With his eyes closed, he thought that maybe in the future - perhaps soon enough, someone would be waiting at the base to welcome him back with a smile and an embrace just like this.
More Keegan: fake dating, werewolf AU
A/N: I think the song represents the uncertainty in the initial stages of falling, when you keep trying to swallow the hopefulness, cautious of each other’s intentions as to not get hurt. It takes bravery handing your heart over to a stranger, unsure if they’ll just stomp on your feelings or be the best thing ever.

Wrong for me - Charles Leclerc
Tumblr media
📷 @/nicolo.furicchia
pairing: charles leclerc x fem! f1 related! reader (the reader is a tp's daughter, I wrote with Toto in mind but there's no names)
song: Angels - Miley Cyrus
warnings: angsty but happy-ish ending
wordcount: 1k
a/n: Bit of a short one but it is my first time writing for Charles, so would you guys give some feedback? Also I'm thinking of opening up requests for drivers x readers with songs inspirations, I actually really like to take songs as inspirations
I know that you’re wrong for me, gonna wish we never met on the day I leave
It was everything your father had warned you not to do, yet it was everything you’ve thought about ever since he walked through the f1 paddock back in 2018. You knew he was wrong for you, but the very thought of each other consumed every inch of logical judgment in both of you. He had a couple of girlfriends since, they were all nice and polite, you tried to stay away but it didn’t make much of a difference. Their official reason for the break ups were the hardships of dating a driver, but he would tell you sometime later some of the exact words he heard were “Why am I always so sure your mind is on her?”.
A puppy love that had burned bright for a little over 6 months when you were still 16 but somehow had managed to quietly find its way through to today. Only this time the flame had threatened to burn not only your hearts but the entirety of his and your father’s team. The tension between the two of you had always been evident to those who knew what had happened back then, but as the 2024 season went further it was more than obvious to anyone with eyes that there was something there. Feelings and desire neither of you would dare to act upon and that would further build an atmosphere that could be felt and cut with a knife, making you wish every day you had never met.
When you finally realized you had the same effect he did on you, hurting him was how you protected yourself from giving in to the urge to fall head first into a love that you believed would not be able to thrive. So as his relationships crumbled down to their inevitable ends, you embarked in a string of meaningless flings in search of someone that would take your mind off of the one thing that you truly wanted.
Bringing him down to his knees with every ghosting you’d purposely inflict him, finding some unimportant meeting to attend instead of where you said you’d be, all the while excitedly celebrating his first win, birthday or even little achievements, moments of weakness you’d let your true emotions surface, only to shut him out right after, pledging to not drag him down the rabbit hole that was your blinding infatuation, with what you believed to be his way out of “misery loves company”.
Some of the drivers, protective as they had become of you, caught on pretty early how although Charles wouldn’t confess his affections, he would never candidly deny them either, which resulted in rising untrust between some of them, with your father on the other hand taking the blind eye approach and ignoring what was obvious until he couldn’t anymore.
You tried to pretend things were taken care of, but every time you found yourselves in the same space sparks could almost be seen coming from every other direction. The breaking point being a very public and loud display of how tense things were between you and him one Saturday night at the paddock, the motive long forgotten as both of you screamed at the top of your lungs for things the other had no fault. The frustration of walking on egg shells around each other clearly evident on the screaming match, and your father’s first intervention resulting in two grown adults looking like sulking toddlers who had just been told they had to deal with their emotions before anyone got seriously hurt in the cross fire.
That wasn’t the last time, and although you would try to keep discussions and screaming matches alike from happening, the public stares and midnight bedroom escapades escalated to a point where everyone decided enough was enough, and you were both locked at the FIA conference room, to either “kiss or scream it out” – their exact words.
“I’m not like your past relationship, Charles. I won’t bring you security, peace and quiet. I’m a mess and you know it, you’ve seen it. Everything I touch turns into a huge media monster and I’m fated to lose every single person I love. It’s not your fault I ruin everything, and it’s not your fault I can’t be what you need” You confessed, looking him with bloodshot eyes, tears falling freely.
“I don’t want them, I want you. Baggage and all, media attention and crazy fans, protective father and f1 drivers haunting me for years to come… The mess and everything they always said you’d be, because that’s the woman I fell in love with.” And although you had reservations on what you believed could be a relationship with the power to destroy his life, and potently his career, you gave in, letting your heart speak louder than your fears.

WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE? — armin arlert/reader

𓆩♡𓆪 summary : armin has been pining after you for years. when the two of you end up alone in his room, he finally works up the courage to ask you to be his valentine. but in the end, he gets a little more than what he asked for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Armin likes you. Everyone knows—Eren, Mikasa, Jean, Connie, Sasha—it’s a universal fact at this point. Even people who aren't in your close circle know.
He’s liked you for years. Ever since Eren introduced the two of you he fell in love at first sight. Armin wasn’t gifted with the courage to flirt with girls as Eren does, so he’s admired you from afar instead. Everyone notices how he looks at you and how he blushes when you get close to him. One time, when your entire friend group was hanging out, there were no more spots on the couch so you asked if you could sit on his lap as a joke. His entire face went completely red in seconds. He managed to choke out a quiet “yeah,” and for the few weeks following Armin had to face relentless teasing from the entire group.
Truth be told, you knew what you were doing. You always know what you're doing. Even though he doesn't think you know, it's quite obvious to you that Armin has a crush. Teasing him when you all hang out together is probably one of your favorite pastimes. You enjoy the way he struggles to get out the right words when you compliment him or how his eyes go wide and his cheeks flush rosy-pink when you flirt.
If you're being honest with yourself, you might also have a little crush on him. Armin is very pretty. You like his blonde hair and how his soft blue eyes compliment them. His smile is super cute, too. He’s always nice to you (probably because he likes you) but he’s always careful with what he says and has never done anything to make you uncomfortable. You would ask to date him, but you find no fun in making the first move. Imagining Armin being flustered as he’s confessing to you is something you picture almost every time you see him.
Today is the 14th of February. It's a day that people either love or hate: Valentine’s Day. Since nobody in the friend group is dating anyone, you decided to spend Valentine's Day with each other. Armin offered for everyone to come over to his place and you did. You all played games (almost losing friendship over an Uno match), ate, drank, and talked about stupid things. It was like any other typical hangout you guys had.
Or so Armin thought. With the way his friends are, he shouldn't have been surprised when they all left to go “pick up” something. Jean was the one who urged you to stay with Armin, insisting he couldn't just be left alone even though Armin kept telling you it was fine.
And now the two of you are in his room, sitting on the edge of the bed, talking about nothing in particular.
“...And I always lose when we play anything card related. You guys are plotting against me or something,” you laugh softly, slightly tilting your head. You ask him a question but your words simply go through one ear and out the other. The only thing Armin can focus on is how pretty you look next to him. He eyes your chest and eventually trails down the rest of your body, practically undressing you with his eyes.
“Armin?”
You wave a hand in front of him, breaking him out of his trance. He realizes he’s been staring at you for a little too long, and he immediately begins coming up with one hundred different excuses for himself.
“I’m sorry, I just spaced out for—”
“What were you thinking about?”
You.
“I-I dunno. Just stuff, I guess.”
Armin’s cheeks are dusted rose-pink and he can feel the blood rush to his face. He’s praying you don't notice his flushed appearance (you do, though). You giggle at his sudden shy demeanor, despite him talking so confidently with you just a few minutes before.
“You can tell me, I won’t judge.”
You will judge. How can he possibly tell you straight-up he was thinking about you?
“It's nothing, really. Did you ask something earlier?” he questions, trying to change the subject.
You smile. Earlier you asked if he had a valentine. You know the answer already, you just want to see him become a stuttering mess.
“I asked if you have a valentine.”
Armin's eyes widen for a second and he quickly looks around the room, finding something to focus on so he’s not looking at you.
Of course, he doesn't have a valentine. He wants it to be you, but there's no way he has enough courage to do that. Armin has done the math. There's a ninety-nine-point-nine chance of him getting rejected, so it's kind of silly to confess knowing he’ll get his heart broken.
He’s heard it a million times from his friends every year: “Just do it. The worst she can say is no,” but that's just it. Every time a guy thinks the worst she can possibly say is “no” the outcome is the complete opposite and they get rejected in ways ten times worse. Armin doesn't have any personal experience with that, but he’s certainly seen what other guys have been through.
But then he starts thinking, what if you do say yes to him? What if the point one percent of you not rejecting him actually pulls through? Armin feels a small sense of confidence. It wouldn't hurt to confess…right? He’s liked you for years so why not just tell you and get it over with? He does have the perfect opportunity. Maybe watching Eren flirt with all those girls has given him some second-hand experience.
Armin stops staring at the pencil on his desk and returns his gaze to you. You still have your head tilted to the side, patiently waiting for an answer.
“...Yeah.”
The little confidence he had in himself left and was replaced with immediate regret. Why did he say that? He didn't even say it as a normal person would. His voice came out quiet and shaky. Where was he even going with this?
“Oh, really?” you smile again, a hint of amusement in your voice. “Who is it?”
“Well—”
“Is it someone I know?” you place a hand on his chest, pushing him back onto the bed. “Am I friends with them?”
Armin's heartbeat quickens tenfold, and instead of feeling the blood rush straight to his face, it goes straight to his dick. He’s hard and all you’ve done is put one hand on hand on him.
You give him an innocent look and place a knee between his legs, acting as if you don't know what you're doing.
“What's wrong, Armin? You're so quiet.”
What's wrong? What's wrong is that your knee is pressing against his hard-on and you're above him, hand still resting on his chest. There's no way you're doing this as a joke. It has to be on purpose, right? You're not just messing with him?
“You…you do know her,” he manages to say, closing his eyes and letting out a sharp breath.
You lean forward and your lips ghost the shell of his ear.
“Tell me about her then,” you whisper, “because it seems that you like her a lot.”
Armin swallows and places a shaky hand on top of yours, gazing at you with desire evident in his eyes.
“She’s really pretty. I’ve liked her for a long time…” he trails off when you run your hand down his abs, but picks up again when you stop. “I haven't actually asked her yet.”
“Hmm. Why? Are you scared?” your voice takes on more of a sultry tone.
“N-no. Not exactly.”
“I think…” you tuck a stray strand of hair behind his ear, “that you should ask her right now.”
Armin looks up at you and stares. There's no way you're just joking. He’s used to your teasing—Armin always thinks it's just to mess with him—but you’ve never taken it this far. You have to like him too, right? Why would you go to these lengths just to mess with him? He realizes just how embarrassed he is and how embarrassing it would be if he really asked you to be his valentine. Armin would feel like he was in the sixth grade again, which is definitely not something he’d like to feel.
You graze your lips against his, cupping his face with your hand.
“C’mon, Armin. I know you like me. Just ask.”
He feels his face heat up again. For a second, he thinks he’s dreaming because there’s no possible way this could be real. But it is. It is real. It’s real and you’re telling him to ask you to be his valentine.
“Will you—will you be my valentine?”
He cringes slightly at his words but seeing the way you smile against his lips makes everything worth it.
“Of course I will.”
Armin swallows again as you stare at him for a few moments. He follows your eyes as they move down to his lips. As if asking for permission, you move forward ever so slightly. He thinks about it for a moment, wondering what would happen if the others came back and walked into the room. How would they react if they saw the two of you like this, your knee in between his thighs and faces so close you can feel each other's breath? They most definitely wouldn’t be surprised, but if you took it any further than a one-time thing…
He decides not to think about it any longer and closes his eyes, letting his lips find yours and kissing you. Armin kisses softly at first, but eventually, you start kissing back, and he loses himself. The kiss grows sloppier but it doesn’t matter to him. This is all he’s ever wanted. The number of times he’s fallen asleep fantasizing about your soft lips on his—he can’t even count them on his fingers anymore. Armin wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you closer to him.
You taste sweet, a mix of chocolate and alcohol from earlier. It’s intoxicating. Everything about you is intoxicating. The way you smell, the way you feel, the way you touch. He hadn’t noticed you were running your hands down his body until you reached in between his thighs. Your hands lingered there, unmoving. He moans into the kiss, quiet but still loud enough that you hear.
You kiss him for a few moments longer then break away. Armin is panting, his ears burning and eyes blown with lust. You’ve turned him into a mess with one kiss.
“Please,” is the only word he says, looking down at your hand still between his thighs.
You tug his shirt, a sign for him to take it off, and he obliges. He throws it to the side carelessly, doing the same with his pants.
You’ve seen Armin without a shirt before but you’ve never realized how good he looks. He has washboard abs, a slender waist, and a complimenting v-line—you can’t help but stare for a few seconds. You run your hands down his abs, trailing all the way down to his boxers. You hook your fingers around the waistband and pull them down, his hard cock lightly hitting his stomach. There’s already pre-cum leaking from his tip.
“What do you want me to do, Armin?” you ask, wrapping your fingers around his length.
He looks at you through half-lidded eyes. He doesn’t care what you do to him, he just wants more of you in any way possible.
“Anything.”
You grin and pull your shirt off, then your shorts, then your bra. Besides your panties, you’re completely bare. Armin admires how perfect you look in front of him. He’s touched himself to the thought of you naked before, but nothing he imagined in that pretty little head of his amounted to how good you looked in person.
You go in for another kiss and soon enough he’s pushing inside of you, slowly enough to make sure he doesn’t hurt you. You moan into the kiss, rolling your hips onto his.
“Wait—no condom?”
“It’s ok. On the pill,” you intertwine your fingers with his and press your lips onto his again. Armin bottoms out into you and groans. You realize just how big Armin actually is. He places his hands around your waist and hugs you closer, holding you tight as if he’s scared he’ll lose you.
You start moving up and down on his cock and eventually, Armin starts meeting you halfway. The two of you waste no time taking it slow, he’s desperate for you, and—even though you haven’t really shown it—you’re desperate for him. When Armin kissed you your thighs clenched, but he didn’t seem to notice.
The room that was once filled with you and Armin’s innocent bickering and teasing was now filled with obscene sounds—from how he pistoned up into your wet pussy to his sweet whimpers—it turned on Armin so, so much.
You squeeze around him, enjoying his whimpers and breathy pants. And just as you were both chasing your high, coming close even though it hasn’t been that long, you hear the front door open and the sounds of your friend's laughter follow. Armin stops and looks at his closed bedroom door, a panicked expression on his face. A knock sounds on the door, Connie’s voice coming from the other side.
“Are you two good in there?”
Armin opens his mouth to answer but only a broken sob comes out as you slam your hips back down onto him. You continue, smiling down at him, acting like nothing is wrong. He looks at you with his eyes widened, biting his hand to stop himself from letting out any more sounds.
“Go on, answer him. You don’t want him to think there’s anything wrong, do you?”
He grabs your waist with his free hand in an attempt to stop you, but he’s so weak from the pleasure that it does absolutely nothing. Tears prick at his eyes, from the embarrassment of being almost caught by one of his friends and how good he feels.
“I bet you secretly want it to happen. For Connie to come in here and see what we’re doing.”
You’re right, he does secretly want it to happen. He wants Connie to open the door and see the expression on his face at the sight of the two of you. He wants him to see the way you go down onto his cock, taking him so well and him enjoying everyone second of it. Armin isn’t even thinking straight anymore, purely driven by lust. He begins to thrust back up into you, tears rolling down his cheeks. Everything feels better than before; you feel impossibly tighter around him and he feels so good. There are no other words to describe it.
“Hello?”
“We’re fine. Just give us a few moments, we’re talking about somethi—”
Armin stops mid-sentence because feels close, hips stuttering. He feels the way your pussy spasms around him and notices the way your eyes roll back. You’ve already come but he’s not done yet.
“I’m sorry,” is all he manages to choke out as he continues to push into you. He grabs your hips again and thrusts roughly, his rhythm growing messy and inconsistent. You’re overstimulated and you try to say something, but your jaw goes slack as he keeps going. He chases the high he was so close to earlier and finally reaches it, a string of broken sobs and moans coming spilling from his mouth. Armin’s loud and he knows it, but it doesn’t matter to him anymore. He pulls you into one final, messy kiss and closes his eyes, breath heavy.
There’s a moment of silence and suddenly you hear roars of laughter through the door.
“I fucking told you! You all owe me fifty dollars,” Jean’s voice echoes through the house, followed by a chorus of groans from the rest of your friends.
“You’re such a fucking bitch, dude.” Connie’s voice is clear at first, becoming quieter and muffled as he moves away from the bedroom door.
You look at Armin and he looks at you. You laugh and he gives you a shy, embarrassed smile.
“Oops.”

Out of My System Pt 5
Summary: Loki doesn’t understand Thor’s attraction to Midgardians. Until he meets you.
Pairing: Avenger Loki x F. Reader
Warnings: Smut. 18+ ONLY. Minors DNI.
W/C: 1.9K
See My Masterlist Here
The midnight pool party was all you could talk about. You decided to wear the tiny, red bikini you had only wore around the compound. And only in front of people you were extremely comfortable with. Nat bought a black one just like it, so you could match for the party. It helped you to feel less self conscious too.
Everyone who was anyone would be in attendance tonight, including Tony’s nephew Ben. You went on one date with him a few weeks ago, but it wasn’t anything serious. You still texted with him sometimes. It was mostly flirting, nothing too deep. He was attractive, but you couldn’t see yourself with him long term. Maybe that’s just what you needed right now, some fun.
You looked at yourself in the mirror, admiring how the small garment made you look. You fluff your hair one last time before walking down the hallway to meet up with Nat.
Loki’s mind hadn’t stopped racing since the kiss that almost was. He had made up a million different plans to seduce you. Each of them worse than the last. He wasn’t sure what was wrong with him. Under usual circumstances, he could get a woman out of her panties without so much as talking to her.
He just turned on the charm and they fell at his feet. But he had never seduced a mortal before, had never wanted to. He couldn’t figure out the hold you had on him. He knew Fiona was right. He was merely curious. Once he had you in his bed, the spell you had on him would be broken.
The music blared out of the speakers. Most of the guys were jumping into the pool. Steve was grilling by the side of the compound. You and Natasha were dirty dancing on everyone who came over to you. You were laughing and smiling so much, your cheeks hurt.
Loki watched as you danced with Ben Stark. You were wearing that red bathing suit that was often the subject of his fantasies. Loki wasn’t jealous. He just wished it was him you were dancing with instead.
The song changed and you ran over to Natasha, both of you screaming about the song choice. Nat sat in one of the lounge chairs. You crawled on top of her grinding against her in time with the music. The Ying Yang Twins was the artist playing. Loki recalled Lang introducing it to him months prior, so he would be familiar with Midgardian music. A classic, he had called it.
Loki couldn’t take his eyes off you. You made eye contact with him. He looked away too quickly, failing to hide that he was staring. He saw you say something to Natasha. You crawled out of her lap, and walked towards him.
“Hey Loki, can we talk for a minute?” He nodded, scooting over on his blanket to make room for you to sit beside him. “You’ve been weird with me since field day. I just wanted to know why.”
“I haven’t meant to behave strangely with you. I apologize.” He’s looking at the other party goers instead of you. “I thought you were going to kiss me.” That gets his attention. He whips his head toward you.
“I wanted you to. I replayed it over and over again in my head. I thought I misread the situation. It’s so hard to read you. I never know what’s on your mind. Tell me what you want, Loki.”
A sigh escapes him. He pushes a stray hair behind your ear. “I want you.” It seems like a weight has been lifted off him with that confession. You’re feeling more confident now. “Then have me. What’s stopping you?”
He leans in cupping your jaw, tilting your face toward his. His lips meet yours with more softness than you expected. You could tell he’s holding back. You deepen the kiss, climbing into his lap. Your hands travel the length of his back.
You pull him as close as you can. You’re the first to break the kiss. You sink your teeth into his neck. With a primal growl, he flips you over onto your back. He traps you with his bulky body. He nips your earlobe, his large hands covering your breasts.
You squirm underneath him trying to rub yourself against him, desperate for friction. He laughs wickedly, looking down at your trapped legs held captive by his own. You feel his hard length pressed against you. You slip your hands in his swimming trunks taking him between your eager hands.
You pump him once, twice. He says your name through gritted teeth wrapping his fingers around your wrist to stop you. “Slow down, love. We have all night.”
You find yourself in Loki’s apartment pinned to his door. Your wandering hands take in every inch of hardened muscle as he feverishly kisses you. “We shouldn’t do this.” Loki murmurs against your neck. You let out a shaky breath. He’s right, you shouldn’t but you don’t care. You’ll deal with the consequences later. Tonight all you want is him.
“My forbidden fantasy.” He whispers as he cups your breasts. His fingers slide under your bikini top finding your pebbled nipples. You arch into him. “Tell me to stop.” His voice is barely audible. It sounds almost like he’s begging you.
“I can’t, Loki. I want this so badly. I want you. Don’t you want this?” He continues tugging your nipples. “I want this more than my next breath. I’ll have you just this night.” He lifts you, carrying you to his bed. He places you gently on the satin sheets.
“Since this is all I get of you, if this is the only time we are together this way, I’m going to savor it. Every inch of you. Everything you have to offer.” He pulls on the flimsy fabric of your top. The material snaps in his powerful hand.
He lowers his head to your chest taking a hardened peak into his mouth. He settles between your legs, removing the rest of your bikini. He presses a soft kiss to your thigh. You are almost shaking with anticipation.
He dives right in, flattening his tongue against you. He fastens his lips around your clit gently sucking. Your hands tangle in his dark curls. You hold his head as if it’s the only thing keeping you here on Earth. You’re sure if you let go, you would float away.
He moves his hot muscle in quick flicks over your clit. One of his hands finds your chest, rolling a nipple between skilled fingers. The other is on your hip, his fingers digging into your skin. He swirls his tongue in a pattern that blurs your vision. You writhe against his face as you explode.
He looks up at you, his lips turned upward in a cocky grin. He’s never been more attractive than right now. Propped between your legs, his mouth covered in your arousal. “I need more.” He states with all the seriousness he can muster. He spreads your trembling thighs once more.
His tongue parts your swollen folds, gliding through you with ease. Loki is ravenous. He eats you like you’re the first meal he’s had in weeks. His face is pressed to you so closely, you’re not sure how he’s even breathing. You know he is from the moans coming from between your legs. He’s not satisfied until you come a second time.
He lays his head on your thighs letting you catch your breath. You play with the messy curls splayed against you. “I’m glad you don’t want to make this a regular thing. If we did this often, I would fall in love with you.” You’re joking, but there is a lot of truth to it. You laugh, but his expression changes as if he is really contemplating your words.
He places a tender kiss on the inside of your wrist. “I’m not capable of love, darling. But if I was…” He doesn’t finish his sentence, instead he lines himself up at your entrance, pushing into you slowly. You release the breath you didn’t know you were holding. He rocks into you with slow, deep thrusts. You buck against him, needing more.
“My needy girl, perhaps you would like this better.” You gasp as he suddenly flips you. His back is now the one against the mattress. You grind down on his lap. You decide to try something different, swaying forward and back. Loki watched intently.
“Sorry. This probably isn’t doing anything for you, is it?” You pause your movements waiting for his answer. “This is everything. I want you to take your pleasure from me.” He grips your hips, rocking you back and forth on his hard cock. The angle hits your g-spot, causing you to cry out his name. You grip his shoulders for support. He continues controlling your movements until you shatter once more.
Loki finds his place on top of you claiming you again. He handles you like you’re the most delicate, precious thing in the world to him. Like he’s afraid you will break with one wrong move. He slips his hand between you, his finger tracing your clit. He sinks into you deeper burying his face against your neck.
You claw at his back, moaning his name with each tilt of his hips. “Can you come for me once more, love?” You sigh. You’re so exhausted. You think another orgasm might kill you. “I don’t think I can, Loki.” His fingers move faster, in time with his thrusts. “Just one more. Will you try for me?” You confirm that you will. His next movement deliciously brushes your walls, hitting your sweet spot again.
You gasp his name with such longing, it makes his heart soar. You come apart at the same time losing yourselves in each other. He presses gentle kisses to your neck, caressing your cheeks with his thumbs. “That’s it, such a good girl for me.” Once you’ve both come down from your high, he takes his place beside you. You’re smiling so widely you’re sure you resemble a creepy clown.
He smiles back taking in your appearance. Your disheveled hair, the flush of your cheeks. He was sure you’d never been more beautiful. It was like Valhalla having you for the first time. It had never been like this. Then he realized what he feared most was true. Fiona was wrong. He would never get over this. He would never be able to get you out of his system.
You notice his smile falters. You interpret it as him wanting you to leave now that you were done. Even though it couldn’t be further from the truth. “So is this the part where you kick me out and tell me it was all a huge mistake? That you regret it and we can never talk about it again?”
Loki takes your hand in his, entwining your fingers. “I’ve made plenty mistakes in my life, but this is not one. I swear it. I could never regret this, regret you.” He looks at you with such vulnerability. You’d never seen him like this before.
You know he doesn’t actually mean it. He is the god of lies after all. It’s probably something he says to everyone he sleeps with, but it’s too late. His sweet words take root in the depths of your heart, even though they shouldn’t.
He wraps his arms around you, snuggling in to you. You close your eyes, enjoying being this close to him. If this is all you’ll ever have with him, you want it to last.
Loki knows he should let you go. He should leave you and go sleep on his couch, or throw you out like you had suggested. But that only makes him hold you tighter.

scene 5: to win a war, fight the battles
continuation of tim's arch nemesis
Tim had done his research. He was a Bat after all. Mr. Nolan was infamous for handing out the most difficult assignment right after midterm, weighing a heaping 40% of their final grade. Physic’s clas had never been of much interest to Tim, he found it straight forward and elementary compared to the many projects he’s committed himself to as a Bat, and member of the Young Justice League. And it just so happened to be the only classes Tim shared with one Daniel James Fenton for the semester.
While Tim’s fellow classmates groaned at the announcement Mr. Nolan made, Tim’s knew his fate for the next three weeks was decided. He’d stayed up extra late completing his last case, and had even let his finger break so he could be off patrol without suspicion. Only his pinky of course, but enough for it to count. Despite all of Tim’s meticulous preping for the assignment, he could only find the requirements with the rest of his class.
Tim had considered hacking into the system and finding all of Mr.Nolan’s notes for this assignment. The reason he hadn’t done it wasn’t because he couldn’t - the school’s firewalls were a joke - but because that would mean he was admitting that the only way he could beat Daniel James Fenton was to use underhanded tactics. And that was not a defeat Tim would take.
Tim listened closely as Mr.Nolan explained how this semester’s project would consist of him and an assigned partner creating a model using any of the physics topics they had covered throughout the semester and present it on the due date. They had till the next class to submit a formal proposal of their topic. Simple enough.
There was just one liability in Tim’s way now: the assigned partner. Normally Tim wouldn’t have been so worried, after all this class was for the advanced students in an already competitive school. But this time was different. This time Tim had a goal. He needed to annihilate Daniel.
“The partners for this project will be on the screen, I suggest you all get comfortable because you’ll be seeing each other a lot for the remainder of the semester.” As the projector flickered to life it dawned the document that would make or break Tim’s future.
There were 36 students in their class, a perfect even number. Discluding Tim there were 35 other students. Daniel was simply one- one- of the 35. There was a measly 3% chance they would be paired.
And yet.
And yet, there it was. Printed clearly in front of Tim’s eyes.
Timothy Drake - Daniel Fenton
In a moment of insurgence, Tim raised his hand, “Sir, I would like to change partners.” There wasn’t anyone in particular Tim would rather be paired with, but he could not have his plans mutilated by such a catastrophe.
Mr. Nolan raised a brow at Tim, “Is there a reason in particular, Mr. Drake?”
Tim hesitated. He had no qualms with telling Mr.Nolan the reason, but if he were to say it in front of the whole class with Daniel present he would lose the element of surprise. “No, sir.”
Mr. Nolan leaned back onto the podium, “Is there someone else you would prefer to work with then, Mr. Drake?”
In pure humiliation, “No, sir.”
“Well I’m glad to see I’ve made a suitable match.” Mr.Nolan concluded with finality, “Any other questions, Mr. Drake?”
“Are we graded individually or together?” Tim clung to his last tether of hope like a lifeline.
Unequivocally and mercilessly Mr. Nolan crushed Tim’s very being. “Together.” Tim sunk into his seat. He had become his own worst enemy. Tim ignored the confused look Daniel sent him from the other side of the classroom, saving himself the disgrace. “Any other question?” Mr.Nolan asked the class.
There was still a way for him to crush Daniel under his steel toed Red Robin boots. Tim would simply overpower Daniel with his superior skills and intellect, and make it unquestionably clear that it was Tim who had gotten them the perfect score. A year - 5 - 10 years from now this would be the memory that woke Daniel up in cold sweat in the middle of the night.
Psychological warfare. Tim’s specialty.
Once Mr.Nolan gave them the signal to disperse into their groups Tim met Daniel halfway between the two ends of the room where they sat.
“Uh, Tim, right?” Daniel asked with an awkward wanna-be polite smile.
“Yes, nice to meet you.” Tim flashed a smile he had perfected at the years of gala’s and business meetings he’d attended. Disarming, and charming. The perfect set up to sweep the enemy from under their feet. “Daniel, I believe.” A casual show of power, usually brushed off as unintentional. It was fully intentional.
“Danny’s fine.” He corrected with what must have been an attempt at an unassuming smile. Tim knew better, Danny would be ruthless in his attempt to permanently upsurb Tim from beautifully satiating first place. “So any ideas on what we should do our assignment on?”
Danny’s coup would not be successful for Tim had come prepared. “We could reconfigure an airplane for better aerodynamics.” Tim had gone through great lengths to research and develop that about a month ago for the Bat Plane, and if he dumbed it down slightly it should pass for a civilian.
Danny considered the idea for a moment, with the barest head nod. Victory was in Tim’s grasp now. “We could change the wingspan and nose shape of it and then widen the back fins for a more acute directional accuracy.” He offered easily. Tim blinked, that was supposed to be his line, where he would prove his superiority with the knowledge he’d already acquired. Victory, it turned out, was like a handful of sand that would, despite all efforts, spill through his fingers. “It seems easy enough.”
“Did you have any ideas?” Tim asked testingly, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Not really, but I thought it would be cool to try one of Tesla’s ideas. Nikola Tesla’s, I mean. The one off the top of my head is the thought camera.” Danny rambled with his hands.
Tim may have admitted that he felt a bit inspired at the idea of mimicking and improving on one of Tesla’s ideas, if it hadn’t been proposed by Danny. “The thought camera?” Tim echoed incredulously, formulating the perfect eyebrow raise to show his distaste.
Danny seemed undeterred, and was instead studying the rubric Mr.Nolan had left open on the board. “Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of that one either,” He said offhandedly, “I was just spitballing.”
This would’ve been the perfect opening for Tim to intercede with the perfect idea. As a Bat, Tim of all people should know the importance of always being ready and well informed of any situation that may arise. Yet here he was, unprepared. Resiliently, Tim pulled out his phone and searched up potential suggestions. Danny peaked over to look as well.
“The wireless energy transmitter seems like a good idea. If we proportionally scale it down we could have a fully functioning model.” Tim declared victoriously to his partner, who couldn't help but be on board with his amazing idea.
Tim had already won the first battle, and the war would soon be over with Tim’s overwhelming conqueror of the first place position.
Bouncing off of Tim’s original idea, the team had already procured a rough sketch of their model, and had designated a day to gather their supplies.

Howard watched as his student’s chattering meshed into one indistinguishable sound. Howard through his past researching with other professionals in varying stages of their career, and teaching college students of various majors and life goals had become astute as discerning a person’s potential. He was aware his current students, now only between the ages of fifteen and nineteen, would not appreciate his sentiment on grading them on a scale of what he believed their personal best to be. Leading to his infamous profile through the halls of Gotham Academy.
Over his cumulative professional careers there was perhaps only a handful that Howard predicted to holding greatness. His visions always coming to fruition as the sapling students of science and research once under his care, blossomed into leaders in their fields with headlining research papers under their name. And when Howard did find himself in the possessions of those saplings he made sure to nurture their growth as much as he could.
It just so happened this year Howard found himself with two.
There was one who Howard had heard whispers of in the teacher’s lounge. Tim Drake always sat in class with a bored castover look, ready with the perfect answer when tested as if he were the one with the PhD. Tim completed all his assignments with a stern perfection, always unchallenged with the material no matter how difficult his peers seemed to find it.
It only was Danny Fenton’s second year attending the Academy, and there were only a few that knew him as a student, but they were not stingy their praises. In the first week of class Howard had found him unassuming, scribbling what Howard had assumed to be notes like his peers throughout class. He was swiftly corrected when Danny came to him, after class one day, frazzled over something in his book. Howard, always ready to help a student, welcomed him graciously. In the book Howard did not find scribbled notes of inertia and energy, but a diagram- more accurately a blueprint- of an archimedes engine applied for a re-designed drag car.
Howard watched the first spark of intrigue be kindled between the two with a deep satisfaction.

You Are In Love
Dbf!James Potter x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You get caught in the shower with James.
Warnings: Light smut, angst and like fluff. Also not proofread.
A/N: This is based of a childhood movie of mine. Can anyone guess it? (Hint it is 2 words and starts with J) Also you are so lucky this fic saw the light of day bc the 1st time I wrote it I didn’t save it and the 2nd time I deleted it on accident.
Tumblr media
You felt like you were in a dream. Something you had fantasized about for months now. Not having to hide. Your dads would hate to see you with someone older, not to mention someone married, and that someone was their best friend James Potter.
Your dads were in London with Harry and James wife (soon to be ex) was in Scotland. So you had absolutely nothing to worry about. You were so happy so happy you could finally date like a normal 19-year-old.
you smile and look down at the pink milkshake in front of you. Breakfast was your favorite meal, because you could order super sugary items.
“How is your childish breakfast?” he asks, you smile at him. “ you better be careful who you’re calling a child, James because if I recall correctly, you were inside me less than 30 minutes ago.” You pause for dramatic affect. “ I’m pretty sure that’s against the law.” Now you’re the one smiling
James is a little embarrassed, but he takes it in good fun. You motion to his matching strawberry milkshake. “ if mine is so childish, then why did you order one?” James looks down and smiles.
“ because I know you.” he stops. “ I know that you wanted a milkshake for breakfast and that you wouldn’t order one if I didn’t order one.” Your heart swells with love and happiness that you have finally found someone who gets you who loves you.
“Aw thank you” you smile you look at him for a while just memorizing his face thinking about how amazing he is “daddy” you add. Now it’s James turn to react his face is red with embarrassment and he’s coughing.
It wasn’t a uncommon for you to call him daddy, but it was in common for you to call him that outside of the bedroom. “ not here.” he warned gone with his loveing tone now it was replaced by a stern mean man you didn’t know
“ I’m sorry daddy” you smiled. To anyone passing by it just seems like an innocent smile, but James knew you, and he knew that you were starting some thing. Just then the waitress came over and in that same movement you had slipped off your shoes and one of your feet had started running up the seem of James pants.
James can think straight maybe that was the lack of blood circulating his brain since it all had bled to his lower half. “ did we enjoy everything” you and James nodded to the lady. He handed her some cash, his hands shaking, because at that moment you’re toe had touched the tip of his boner
“ keep the change” James yelled just wanted to get out of there. And she turned around he got up. “ come on.” He yelled at you. When you finally stood up, he grabbed your forearm pushing you towards the door.
“Ow that hurts” you whined. James laying down breathing into your ear. “ well, maybe you should’ve thought about that, princess because now I think you need punished.” You tried to hide your smile as he escorted you out.
* * *
When you had finally reached James and Lili’s townhouse, he pushed you inside, and then the door was shut he push you against it. His lips immediately attacked yours. It’s like he was sucking your air.
He began to kiss down your neck until he reached your(his) shirt, he pulled it off quickly, revealing the pink bra you had worn the night before. It was a surprise for him a surprise, and a thank you for having the house to yourself, and it made him harder
He kissed on your chest until he got to the top of your boobs, then undud your bra. He sucked on your nipple, causing a few moans. You pulled back for a second pulling off his shirt.
He grabbed your hips. Pulling you in and kiss you harder. “ this isn’t much of a punishment.” You quip he looks down at you smiling. “ I promise princess we will get to that.”
He starts to push you towards the stairs. You are halfway up when he finally discard his pants. Then you start to work on yours. But then you hear the door knob start jingle and you here, an all to familiar voice.
“ James” you hear your dad yell. You look at James your face panicked. You start to run up the stairs but you trip on your jeans James picks you up rushing you to the nearest room.
When you are safe in side, you start to listen. You can hear your dad mumble probably confused why there are so many clothes on the ground. But then you hear a smaller voice.Harry.
And finally you can hear your dad “ why don’t you run upstairs and use the bathroom, then we will go.” You look like a James finally surveying the room, you are in, the bathroom.
“ he’s going to come in here” you whisper yell at James. He was thinking quick he moved you into the shower. “ What are you doing?” James hurried in with you. He put a a finger over your mouth, his hands snaked behind you turning on the water. You try to protest but he kisses you to keep you quiet.
He finally pulls back “ we’re just gonna pretend I’m taking a shower”. He winks you. It feels like an eternity when you finally here a little knock. “Daddy?” You hear little Harry say. “Yes?” James calls out. “ I need to use the restroom.” Harry says.
“ OK son just hurry.” James says he looks down at you and your soaked clothes. Any smiles you hear Harry open the door and lift up the toilet. He does his business and Just then James calls out “don’t flush” but it’s too late he’s already done it in a matter of seconds you can feel the burning hot water hit your back
“Ow fuck” you scream out. James hurries and put his hands over your mouth pleading with you Harry stand back, looking at the shower curtain. “Daddy? Is mommy in there?” James is frantic, trying to think of what to do.
“No just me” he yells back. He shakes his head and walks to the curtain trying to open it you quickly try to pull it back, but it’s no use. Harry Pulls it open, revealing his dad in boxers and you in just jeans. You quickly cover your chest.
Just standing here knock on the bathroom door as if this couldn’t get any more mortifying and awkward. “ come on Harry we don’t have all day.” And then you hear the door open near met with your father is modified look as he sees you, his little girl with his best friend.

✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
You were on your way to visit your boyfriend of a few months at work, with a little Tupperware box of fresh cookies in hand, you knew that he was Spider-Man and you knew all about the spider-verse. You also knew that Miguel worked very hard to keep the society intact and that it put an immense strain on his mood and health.
He’d come home all grumpy and annoyed, just wanting to cuddle you to death, he wouldn’t even let you get up to make him some food or treats, so today you decided to bring him something to cheer him up. You’d made a variety of cookies, some frosted and others shaped like animals and stars, to some people it might seem like something from a kids birthday party where a trottle ran off with the sprinkles and went crazy with them but it was just how you liked to bake. You knew that some people thought you were weird for dressing in bright colours and having fun hairstyles, sometimes older people would whisper when you walked past them but you didn’t mind, to you the worst possible thing would be being called normal or plain. You didn’t let anyone stop you from buying or making the clothes you thought were cute and today you decided to show off the new skirt you made. You spent all of last week sitting at your desk with your sticker covered sewing machine, securing the fabric and hemming the edges.
It was truly adorable and you loved how it framed your butt and thighs! You matched it with the off white cashmere sweater that Miguel gifted you after only two moths of dating. He knew that you liked cute things so he had little bows added to the sleeves and it warmed your heart every time you thought of his attentiveness. You packed the cookies into a little shoulder bag and set off.
It didn’t take long for you to get to the main office and there you almost crashed into Jessica who you always enjoyed having a little chat with, you always asked how her baby was and if everything was going as planned at HQ, but today she decided to give you a little warning, Miguel had been a little agitated and stressed today, because Gwen got stuck in a mess and brought back a Teenage boy who was never supposed to know about the Spider-verse and how said boy was causing a bit of trouble. You thought nothing much of it and continued looking for him.
Your first stop was his main office, to be honest it looked like the bat cave, with a floating platform that was his favourite. It always made you giggle when you compared Miguel to batman, but he wasn’t there, so you decided to just walk around and see if you’d find him, when you suddenly heard a loud bang. Instinctively you whipped around, running to a large window and what you saw shook you to your core.
It was thousands of spider people chasing after what seemed to be a small figure in a black suit, it was a sight that you’d never seen before, was everything alright? Was that an anomaly? Why were so many chasing it? Millions of thoughts rushed through your head as you sprinted down the stairs to the ground floor to get a better look, but everything was moving so fast that you lost sight of them as that disappeared behind another building.
You rushed through the halls, trying to catch up with them and somehow you ended up in the room with the go-home machine, all while everyone was surrounding Miguel and the young boy who was in the midst of being “sent home” and Miguel had his talons dug into the electric walls of the capsule, almost tearing it apart while growling and yelling. You’d never seen him like this, as if he were a feral creature hunting its prey with cruel intent. Your body started shaking a little as you took a small step back, maybe this was a really bad time. In that moment the capsule fully closed itself, sending the teen home and leaving Miguel seething with rage, ready to demolish anything he got his hands on, when he suddenly noticed his wach showing signs of an anomaly or something that wasn’t supposed to be at headquarters standing only a couple meters behind him.
Without a second thought and with pure rage and will for distraction Miguel lunges backward, his vision blurry with fury as he sunk his claws into the floor, propelling himself closer and closer to his new victim. All the while you didn’t even have time to think, fear filled every fiber of your already tensed body, he made the decision in split-seconds, not even realizing that it was you, his partner, as he rushed closer to you. You started stumbling back, screaming his name, but nothing helped clear his mind. Miguel stretched out his right arm, talons out as far as they could go, ready to tear you to shreds.
His usually gentle fingers wrapped themselves tightly around your neck, nicking you and squeezing tight, you felt him almost crush your throat but that wasn’t the end of it. Miguel flexed his arm, lifting you up into the air and just as he was about slam you down with all his force, he had a moment of clarity, his heat almost stopped as he recognized your face, albeit it was contorted in ear and pain. He noticed how tight his grip on your neck was and how you were scratching at his hand for a single breath, as he cut off your air way. His eyes widernd, fear and regret washing over him. Instead of glamming you to the ground, he quickly let go of your neck and pressed you to his chest. He felt your tears wet his suit and he heard you cries. Your cries were pain filled and your voice hoarse as he tried to comfort you by rocking you back and forth gently. He knew that it was his fault. What had he done? What if you never wanted to see him again?
He did something he swore to never let happen. He hurt you. He made you fear him. Miguel commanded everyone to leave, so that the two of you could calm down and as soon as it was only the two of you, he collapsed to his knees. It was like your tears were never ending and your fingers weakly grabbed onto him, barely able to hold on as you hid your face in his chest.
“I’m sorry…” Miguel whispered, his voice cracking as he continued muttering “I’m so sorry.. please forgive me.. I didn’t mean t-to…” he whimpered, but it was like you didn’t hear it, way too caught up in the scenario that played out just minutes ago. Your heart was going a mile a minute and you were hyperventilating, not being able to calm your breathing. Minutes passed and Miguel was still rocking back and forth, as if comforting a crying child, the horrid scenes kept replaying in his mind and he didn’t know how to make it better.
Your cries slowly turned to whines and hiccups, you moved around in his lap, trying to find a comfortable position when he gently lifted your chin to look him in the eyes, he opened his mouth but said nothing for a few seconds until he finally whimpered “I love you, you know that, right?” He pulled you into a close hug, not even waiting for your response, he squeezed you as close to him as he could, his anger long gone. “P-please don’t leave me…” he continued, he sounded utterly broken and that only made you shed more tears, you didn’t want to be sad, you didn’t want him to be sad, this was just a stupid accident right? He didn’t mean it…
You nodded a little and tried to speak, but nothing audible came out, only whimpers and whines. Miguel pulled the two of you apart, gently placing his large hand onto the crown of your head, carefully lacing his fingers between your hair as he looked at your little form that was dwarfed by his own. “It was and accident… please forgive me…” he muttered as his eyebrows scrunched together in regret. You replied with a little nod, your lower lip still wobbling a little. Miguel caressed your hair a bit before moving lower to your neck, he pushed your hair back and revealed a couple red scratches going almost all the way around. He felt so ashamed that he’d hurt you, that he was the cause of your pain. Ge gently brushed his fingers over them and you let oust a little wince. He’d take you to the med bay right after this, he promised.
Only then did he notice what you were wearing, first he looked at the sweater. It was the one he had custom made for you, when he saw it in the store window he thought about how’d you look like a fluffy baby alpaca in it and he just had to get it for you. He touched the soft fabrics and slid his grand down your arm, intertwining his fingers with your slender ones. Next he noticed the skirt, ha hadn’t seen it in your closet or anywhere else?. Did you buy it? No it fits too well for that… you probably made it. He couldn’t help but let a soft smile cross his face. The room was almost silent so he tries to shift your attention to a different topic “Did you make this?” He gently rubbed the b fabric between two of his fingers.
You looked around quite confused for a moment until you found what he was talking about, you rubbed your eyes a little and gave him another nod “y-yea, i finished yesterday.” Your voice was barely audible and littered with hiccups.
“It’s cute” he replied, placing his hands on your hips and shifting your body so that you were sitting sideways on his lap with your head leaning on his pec. He wrapped his arms around you and nuzzled closer, almost purring. You liked sitting like this, on his lap and utterly surrounded by him, it made you feel small and soft, like a precious delicate possession of his.
You could feel how worried he was, it washed off him like waves and you wanted to make him feel better, so you cupped his jaw and whispered “I’m okay Miguel, you didn’t hurt me” as soon as he heard, you could almost physically hear the stones dropping from his heart and his spirit lifting. The two of you were definitely feeling better but there was still a bit left to talk about, so Miguel decided that it was time to leave. He rose to his feet but kept you in his arms, you rolled over a little and decided to play with his hair as he walked out of the now silent room. Your fingers wrapped themselves around the little short curls at the back of his neck, it was one of your favourite parts of his hair because it was so much more curly than the longer pieces.
Miguel felt your little fingers and could stop the lopsided smile that formed on his face, sure he still had work to do, but to be honest, for once in his life, he didn’t care. He’d do it tomorrow and surely get an ear full from Jessica.
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Once Miguel stepped through the doorway a long sigh left his chapped lips, he still felt quite bad about what happened today, but he knew that you’d forgiven him and that you weren’t upset. You fell asleep in the car, so he decided to be the good boyfriend he was and carry you up to his penthouse. You often slept over at his place because you liked the big windows and loved his comfy king sized bed. Normally you fell asleep earlier than him and once he got to bed, he’d find you in your cute pink jammies, laying starfish with one of your legs over the blanket and the pillows long thrown off the sides. He couldn’t help but snap a little picture, you were just too adorable.
So now he careful layer you down on the side you preferred to sleep on. He took off your socks and reached under your shirt to unclasp your bra and pull it off you so you wouldn’t wake up in pain, before covering you with his blanket. Once you were tucked in, he strode over to one of his cupboards in the bathroom and pulled out one of the first aid kits (he has multiple stocked) and pulled out a salve. He rummaged around further until he found your favourite bandaids, the ones with the cute shapes on them and walked back to his bedroom.
You were sleeping soundly as he sat down right next to you, careful not to dip the mattress too much, he gently stroked your hair back so that he could tend to the little wounds on your neck. Guilt shot through him again once they were revealed, t be honest they weren’t even that bad, but he knew how sensitive to violence you were and he knew that the scare was probably worse than the pain. Nevertheless he dipped his fingers in the salve and started softly rubbing it over the red marks and covered them with the bandaids after. After a few minutes he was satisfied and snuggled up to you, making you the little spoon, he wrapped his arms around your wast to pull you close. And just like that, all cuddled up, the two of you fell asleep, meeting again in your dreams.

Wing Man Part 6
Steve 'the Hair' Harrington is your best friend, and is constantly striking out. Sick of this, you two make a deal; you'll wing man for each other. Hooking Steve up with dates is easy, but he finds himself struggling to find you a date. At least, until Dustin starts talking about his new cool friend Eddie. (1 2 3 4 5)
Tumblr media
A/N: How are we feeling in a post-"Flight of Icarus" world, y'all? I knew from the beginning that I'd want to add some of the lore in and let me tell you, I LOVE Ronnie Ecker. For those of you who did not read the book, or haven't had a chance to, Ronnie is Eddie's best friend who ended up with a full scholarship to NYU. They're siblings, your honor.
Also if anyone can show me on this map where the plot is going, I'd really appreciate it.
Tumblr media
This late at night, the only sounds in the trailer park came from the occasional dog barking and the echoes of Eddie’s tapes blasting as he pulled up to Wayne’s trailer. His uncle was working tonight as usual, which would normally allow Eddie time to hog the tv before passing out for a few precious hours before he had to get up for school.
Tonight however, his mind was buzzing with what had just happened less than an hour ago. He liked you, he wasn’t sure how much yet but he did. You were sharp and knew your stuff about metal. It helped that you were cute. Really cute.
He liked seeing you in the passenger seat of his car, matching wits with his friends and ranting about Ozzy. He liked seeing you laughing and the way you watched him play. He really liked the way you had fiddled with the pick he’d thrown at you at the end of the set.
Eddie had never done that before. He’d wanted to, but never had anyone’s attention like that before- no. That wasn’t true. There had been one other person who’d listened to him play like that, two years ago.
Was he always gonna fold to the site of a pretty girl actually paying attention to his music?
“Of course you are.” Ronnie’s voice echoed on the phone. “And I’m gonna laugh every time you do.”
Eddie groaned, holding the receiver to his ear as his forehead pressed against the front of the fridge. He hadn’t planned on running to her with this, but he was nowhere near able to wind down. He hadn’t even expected Ronnie to pick up the phone this late at night with the time zone difference and the fact that it was a school night. He’d have to push his stash a bit harder to pay Wayne back for the long distance call.
The past two years had been a slow crawl of building back trust up with Veronica Ecker. The two had gone almost a whole summer without talking before Eddie had basically groveled for forgiveness outside of Granny Ecker’s trailer before Ronnie left for New York. She had forgiven him enough to let him give her a ride to the airport.
“Last time?” He’d asked.
“Last time.” She’d repeated.
“So why didn’t you shack up with her tonight?” Ronnie asked. “You got her into your van, and you dropped her off like a gentleman.”
“I don’t know, I panicked.” Eddie sighed, bonking his head against the fridge a few times. “She was right there, and she was leaning in and all I saw was Paige leaning in-”
“You know not every girl who shares your taste in music is Paige, right?” Eddie could practically see Ronnie rolling her eyes on the other end of the line.
“Any girl that shares my taste in music ends up fucking off to the opposite end of the country.”
This made Ronnie laugh. “You’re an idiot. Paige fucked off back to her job and I fucked off to college.”
“Fucking off is fucking off.”
“Maybe you need to fuck off.”
“I tried, remember?”
She remembered. Both of them remembered.
“Look, stop being a dipshit.” Ronnie said after a moment of awkward silence. “You’re graduating this year, right?”
“Uhhh...”
“Eddie.”
“Yeah, yeah I’m working on it. I just need those last stupid two classes and then I’m home free.” Eddie confirmed.
“You can’t stay in high school forever.” Ronnie said. “And you’re gonna realize that there’s life outside of Hawkins. Have you even talked to Paige since then?”
He hadn’t, and they both knew it. Eddie gave up two months after she’d bailed him out of jail. Two months of dead air silence. He got the hint.
“No.”
“Then stop worrying about one girl from over two years ago!” Eddie could feel the phantom pain of Ronnie punching him in the arm like she always used to. “Get laid and graduate, Munson. You earned it.”
Eddie snorted, sliding down the fridge to sit on the cool floor. “Is that the only advice you got for me, Ecker?”
“It’s the only advice you need. Did you pass that test last week?” Ronnie asked.
“By the skin of my teeth.” Eddie sighed, leaning his head back against the fridge.
“Your new girl graduated, maybe she can help you study.”
“She’s not my girl. She’s a girl that I’ve met a handful of times-”
“That’s turning your brain to mush.”
“She doesn’t even know who I am, Ronnie.” He fiddled with the chord in his hand, watching the spiral wind and unwind around his fingers. It was already stretched out pretty bad, with a few spirals already tangled beyond repair like his old slinky from when he was a kid.
“Isn’t that a good thing?” Ronnie asked. “She doesn’t know you, that means she doesn’t feed into the bullshit of the rumor mill.”
Ronnie had a point and he hated it, but that’s why he called her to begin with. Ronnie was the only person who could cut through his Munson bullshit and give it to him straight. He missed it. As much as he enjoyed the power he had to protect his little lost sheepies, they were all too intimidated to actually stand up to him and call him out the way that Ronnie would.
“Yeah, you’re right. As usual.” Eddie could hear her snort and he couldn’t stop himself from grinning. “So why the hell are you even awake right now? Up til 2 am on a school night, Ecker?”
“It’s barely past midnight, the time zone isn’t that off. I was studying for a test, but hearing you complain about your love life is a far more productive use of my time.”
“You’re using me to slack off, aren’t you?”
“If I have to look at my flashcards one more time tonight my eyes are gonna go square. How’s Granny doing?”
“She’s an empty nester and is determined to turn me into her replacement grandson until you visit again.” Eddie shook his head. “She threatened to give me a haircut the last time she dropped off a plate for Wayne.”
Ronnie had come back to visit a grand total of five times since she’d left, returning for holidays and summers to visit Granny Ecker and by extension Eddie. Each time she’d come back with stories of law school and how different New York is.
It seemed impossible, everything that Ronnie had told him about going to college and about life outside their small town. She was playing Dungeons and Dragons still, having found a group that would play with her. According to her, being a rules lawyer for the game at a law school hit way different than it had their small Hellfire group in high school. No one even cared that they played outside of a few students who had better things to do than enact violence against a few nerds.
Then again, in law school everyone was some sort of nerd. Eddie wondered if even a freak would be accepted there. Well, socially at least. He wasn’t delusional enough to think he’d be able to be accepted into law school with his grades. Ronnie had invited him up to visit a few times, but there was never time or money to do it.
The two continued talking for another hour, catching up until Ronnie was scolding him for staying up so late on a school night.
“Yeah? And what’s your excuse?” Eddie said. “It’s almost 4:20 am there.”
“Ha. Ha. Again, ha.” Ronnie said. “Still not how timezones work. And my first class doesn’t start until noon.”
Right. In college you didn’t have to wake up at the ass crack of dawn every day.
“Night, Ecker.”
“Night, Munson. Graduate and get laid.”
“Does it matter the order?”
“Good night, Eddie.”
Talking to Ronnie had eased his nerves, but there was still something inside that wouldn’t let him lay down and go to sleep. It was late now, way later than he intended to stay up tonight. The night he played at the Hideout always had him up late, and his teacher already considered him more useless than usual on Wednesdays. It’s not like anyone would care if he slept in class, unless they were in a particularly foul mood.
He made his way to a stack of books in his room rummaging through a pile or two until he found what he was looking for. Eddie’s copy of Lord of the RIngs was well loved at best, and completely trashed at worst. The cover of the paperback was nearly torn off, taped back together haphazardly over the years. Pages were dogeared, the spine was cracked, notes were scribbled in the margins, and his name was scribbled in messy cursive on the front page declaring that this book belonged to Eddie Munson and that he was in third grade.
Eddie stripped out of most of his clothes, tossing his jewelry on his nightstand, and hopped into bed. He turned on a small lamp and opened the book. He could probably recite the first chapter from memory if he tried, the words on the page a comfortable lullabye for his wound up mind. But tonight he flipped to a page near the end where his bookmark was. The flower made out of blue construction paper wasn’t nearly as old as the book, and only in better shape because it never left the safe pages of Tolkein’s writing.
His eyes glanced at his arm again, your phone number a temporary tattoo on his skin until it washed off. Shit, it was going to wash off eventually. Eddie grabbed a pen from under his bed and added another scribble to the inside of the book before copying your number carefully onto the paper flower. At least this way he’d always know where it was.
With that aside, Eddie didn’t make it through three pages of his book before he passed out with the light still on.
Fall Semester, 1984
Tumblr media
The PrinciPAL’s office was just as interesting and inviting as it always was, which is to say not at all. Eddie was slumped back on a chair, watching as Janice sorted through paperwork, pretending to look busy so that she could avoid any small talk with ‘that Munson boy’. He had been waiting for Higgin’s to show up for almost fifteen minutes now, because why shouldn’t he waste Eddie’s time at this point? The worst that was going to happen today is that they’d do their little song and dance, Eddie would plead his case that the flyers were absolutely serious and that Chris Morrison had every intent to run for student council, and that it was all of the club that had made the posters, Higgins would shake his head and not believe Eddie for a second (which to be fair, this would be the first time that Eddie would admit privately that it was his fault), they’d go back and forth until Eddie got some form of detention or Saturday school.
Honestly, the worst part would be rescheduling Hellfire if he wound up in detention.
Eddie had counted out 13 paper clips that Janice had used in her papershifting before the door to the front office opened up again. He looked up, expecting to see Higgins walk in, ignore him for another five minutes, before Janice would let Eddie go in.
He didn’t expect to see you, pale and shaken, clutching a teacher’s note in your hand. Eddie watched as you handed the note over to Janice who read it, shook her head, and pointed at the chair next to himself. Your eyes never left the floor as you sat next to him, staring at the cheap carpet as if you could somehow burn a hole in it and disappear.
Trouble was no stranger to Eddie, and Eddie was no stranger to trouble. In Hawkins the name ‘Munson’ might as well be in the thesaurus next to the word. This wasn’t his first rodeo, and it would be far from his last as long as Higgins stayed the princiPAL. He’d walk away with a lecture and a sigh and then it would be business as normal.
The look on your face though, that was far from the mild annoyance he felt. You look downright traumatized at the idea of having been sent here. Eddie glanced up at Janice who deigned to make eye contact with him now. Her eyes flicked between the two of you, a disapproving look behind her purple frames as if this was somehow Eddie’s fault that you had ended up here as well. But then, as far as any of the faculty from the office was concerned, even him being enrolled at this school was a death sentence to the rest of the poor student body. Eddie was a disease that they would try to contain until they had the cure to remove him.
The shaking of your knee made your chair (and his chair by proxy) rattle slightly. The quiet of the office and the mundane shuffling of Janice’s papers only added to the tension that was radiating off you.
“Janice, is Higgin’s gonna be long?” Eddie finally asked, and your bouncing knee stopped for just a moment before going back to its nervous movement.
“He’s in a very important meeting.” Came the reply over a stack of papers, still not looking at Eddie.
He sighed again and looked over at you, trying to place where he knew your face. Your eyes were a bit red, and you looked like you were on the verge of crying. Shit, he needed to do something before he had to ask Janice for the tissue box.
“First time?” Eddie asked, and when you didn’t respond he nudged your knee with his.
You jumped slightly, head snapping up. It was a wonder you didn’t give yourself whiplash and it would have been almost funny to Eddie had you not looked like a deer in the headlights looking at him.
“I... Huh?” your voice cracked slightly.
“What are ya in for?” Eddie did his best to give you a smile which he was sure made him look more like a serial killer than a comfort. It was rare he wished that he had his dad’s smile, but in cases like this he’d make an exception.
You looked at the paper in your hand and swallowed. “Uh... skipped.”
“Skipped school or just class?” Eddie prompted, trying to get you to talk more. If you were talking, then you weren’t crying. That’s what he hoped at least.
“Class.” He didn’t think you’d say anymore but you surprised him. “US History.” Eddie caught the way your eyes darted to Janice again as if to make sure she wasn’t listening in, but Janice had better things to do than to eavesdrop on two delinquents. “I wasn’t... I had a bad day. I'm having a bad day. I felt like I was going to explode and I went to the library.”
Eddie nodded, wondering what had happened today that made you need to duck out. It wasn’t his business, and frankly Higgin’s was going to grill you enough as it was.
“Rookie mistake.” He said instead.
“Rookie...?”
Eddie kept his voice low and leaned in closer to you as if telling you a secret. “If you’re gonna skip, you can’t go to the library. You might as well have walked into the teacher’s lounge and announced that you were cutting class.”
You let out a sharp breath that he swore counted for a laugh. “Thanks for the heads up, can you tell me that a few hours ago?”
There was color returning to your face now and Eddie kept going. His brown eyes scanned your face, trying to place where he knew you from. Hawkins was a small town, and there was nothing about you that screamed ‘I’m new!’.
He liked your sarcasm though, and his ‘comforting’ grin shifted into a genuine smile. “If you’re gonna ditch, you need to go to the bathroom or go outside.” He said. “Especially for last period. Go hide outside in the woods and you can slip into the parking lot seamlessly without anyone noticing. By the end of the day the teachers are barely taking attendance anyway.”
“Have you been in the girls rooms here?” you asked, shaking your head. “I think I’d rather take my chances here than stay in there longer than I’d have to.” Eddie wasn’t sure if you were trying to make a joke or if you were serious.
“Would you rather hide in the boys room?” he asked. “I swear it only smells like piss almost all of the time and you’d end up in the splash zone even if you were in a stall.”
That got a laugh out of you, a genuine one. Your shoulders were relaxing and you looked down at the paper again and took a deep breath that you exhaled with a sigh.
“I’ve never been in trouble before.” you said, your hands starting to bend and fold the paper on your lap absently. “I’m not good at being in trouble.”
“Well, lucky for you I’m here.” Eddie nudged your knee again with his. “Being in trouble is kind of my job here at Hawkin’s High. I’m a professional, you know. If I wasn’t here taking up all of Principal Higgin’s time he might have to actually do his job.”
That last part was louder, as he directed it to Janice who refused to take the bait and only reached for her lilac stapler instead.
A small smack on his arm drew his attention back to you, you were smiling at him looking astonished. “You’re gonna get us in trouble!” you whispered at him.
“We’re already in trouble.” Eddie reminded you, his smile never fading. “Look, you’ve never been in trouble before, right? You’re gonna be fine. Just give him a good sob story about being overwhelmed with school, or about a sick pet. If you can squeeze out some tears that’s even better. The worst that he’s gonna do is give you a slap on the wrist and maybe detention if he’s in a shit mood”
You take in his words, listening to him carefully and taking in every word he was saying as if this was life or death. Eddie admittedly, had purposefully slipped into his Dungeon Master voice. It was a skill that normally only worked on his little sheepies in his club, and that was after semesters of training his players to listen and pay attention to his words or else it would be life or death for their characters.
Having someone else listen to him like that? It felt really good.
Your mouth started to open to say something but then the office door opened again and Higgin’s stepped in, nodding to Janice and then looking at the two of you. There was an accusatory look in his eyes as he made eye contact with Eddie again, and it was clear what that look said. Leave her alone, don’t make things worse for her than they already are.
“Munson.” Higgins said and it took everything in him to stay still and not flinch at his last name. He was used to the weight that came with his name, but he hadn’t wanted you to know who he was. Not after he just remembered where he knew you from, glancing down at the note that you had folded into a flower in a fit of nerves.
“I heard you missed me, Sir.” Eddie forced his eyes to meet Higgin’s. “You really should just start saying hi in the hallways instead of inviting me to these little chats every week. You’re taking away valuable learning time from me, you know.”
If the two of them had been alone, Higgins would have snapped back at Eddie about being a smartass. But you were there, and the color had drained from your face again, and there was a shine to your eyes that was threatening to spill over your waterline. Higgins looked at you and motioned for you to follow him into his office.
Eddie wished that you would turn and look at him before disappearing into the PrincePAL’s office. He could imagine you turning to look at him for comfort, he’d give you a smile that would put you at ease and a thumbs up. You’d give him another smile and walk in feeling brave.
Instead it was like you forgot he was there as your figure disappeared behind the heavy wood door that shut with a heavy click.
Of course Higgins had you come in first, even though Eddie had already been sitting here since the beginning of the period when he’d been called in.
He was tempted to go over to the door and press his ear up against it to listen in on what he was saying to you but even Janice would scold him for that. So there Eddie sat for another ten minutes as he waited for you to step out again.
Higgin’s was the one to open the door and let you out of the office, as if he were some gentleman instead of Eddie’s own personal warden five days a week. You walked out and to Eddie’s surprise you gave him a nod and mouthed thank you as you slipped back out the door and into the hallway.
Eddie’s eyes followed you until he couldn’t see you anymore and it took Higgin’s standing in front of him with folded arms and saying his full government name for Eddie to snap back to reality.
“Munson. A word about your little flyers?”
“Well, I’d say a picture is worth a thousand words-”
“In my office.”
Eddie didn’t remember much else about that talk, only remembering the white paper flower that had been carelessly tossed into the trash next to Higgin’s desk.
“He still hasn’t called you?” Steve asked as you, him, and Robin continued your closing routine. The day had been busy, with almost everyone in Hawkins coming to rent a movie for the weekend. Robin was stocking the candy while you wiped down the sticky counter where children had been touching all day. Who’s idea was it to leave out free suckers on the counter anyway?
Tumblr media
Oh right, that was your idea because you loved Halloween.
“Nope.” you said, your voice a little tense. It had been almost two weeks since that night at the Hideout. You hadn’t returned to the dive bar, hoping that Eddie would call you and make the next move. Each passing day you had stayed as close to the phone as possible when you were home and you’d checked your voicemail every day when you got home for any sign that he’d attempted to reach out.
Nothing.
You shouldn’t feel this rejected but you did. It was far too early to tell if you had any feelings beyond initial attraction to the guy, but... you’d felt something. An enjoyment of bantering with him and an ease that came as naturally as your friendship with Robin and Steve.
Plus, you had to admit it, he was really fucking hot. Seeing him play guitar two weeks ago had haunted your dreams and slipped into a few of your fantasies when you were alone.
You kept that part to yourself though, that was the last thing that Steve or Robin needed to hear. Besides, that was Steve’s job to go far too into detail about his sex life. Steve had tried ribbing you about going home with Eddie but you’d told him that you were a complete gentleman with him.
That night had left you feeling electrified, almost high as you danced around your room as you got ready for bed. Even as his odd parting rattled around your brain, you couldn’t help but to feel excited at the idea of seeing him again.
Then a few days went by. Then a week. And now two weeks later you hadn’t heard from him. The kids hadn’t stopped by either so you couldn’t hassle them about Eddie either. Even if they had, you weren’t sure if you could ask about him, you didn’t want to come across as desperate.
“Did you ever figure out what he meant by ‘five times?’” Robin asked, opening up a squished package of Reese's Cups. “Like, didn’t you say you didn’t know him?”
You threw your hands up before tossing the paper towels you were using to clean in the trash can.
“I have no idea.” you said. “Either I’m bad at math, he’s bad at math, or maybe we’re both stupid.”
“He did get held back a few times.” Steve muttered to himself.
“There’s a chance that you two have met before though.” said Robin, “I mean think about it, you’re both weirdos who went to the same school. Shouldn’t you both have bumped into each other before?”
“You’d think so, but my group kind of kept to ourselves.” you said with a sigh. “We were private weirdos. When I DID try and make other friends-”
“Yeah, yeah, Chris Morrison shot you down.” Steve said, waving his hand.
“Oh, you heard that story?” you laughed. “I didn’t think I mentioned it to you before.”
Steve gave you a blank stare that only made you laugh more. “I swear you keep talking about that guy more than Eddie. Maybe I should track him down and set you up on a blind date with him instead.”
“Don’t you dare!”
“Hey, that could be fun!” Robin added. “We’ll dress you up super hot, set you up with Chris, and then you can turn him down instead!”
“Excuse you, Robin. I am always super hot.” you declared, straightening out your unflattering Family Video vest. “Who wouldn’t want a piece of this?”
You hadn’t done laundry in a week, and your hair had seen better days. The green polyester vest was wrinkled and if Keith saw you looking sloppy he’d probably have words about it. Not big words or even intimidating words, but words nonetheless. It was night and day compared to how you’d looked at the Hideout and the arcade earlier in the month. But it wasn’t like you had anyone to impress while you were at work anyway.
“Hey, nerdy chicks can be hot.” Steve said. “I mean, Nancy’s an academic nerd and I was crazy about her.”
You hummed thoughtfully and turned to Robin. “How about we get married instead?” you asked. “You, me, a fuck ton of cats, and a tax break. What do you say?”
Robin laughed and shook her head. “You aren’t my type.” Her eyes darted nervously to Steve for a split second and you sighed dramatically.
“Guess it’s just me and the cats I’ll eventually adopt.” you said. “Not even a tax break.”
“You know, Keith thinks you’re cute-”
“I am going to pretend that you did not just say that, Harrington.” you said firmly. “Nope, not happening. Uh-uh. Absolutely not.”
“He’s not... that bad?” Robin said, but you could hear the pain in her voice through the laughter. “Methinks the lady doth protest too much.”
“The lady is trying not to think actually.” you laugh. “We’re closed, I’m actually done thinking. I just wanna finish cleaning up and go home. What’s left?”
“Rewinding the returns,-”
“Ugh.”
“Cleaning up the kids movies,-”
“Ugh.”
“And cleaning the bathroom.”
“UGHHHHHH.”
“Would you rather clean up the porn room?” asked Robin.
“Yes actually, I would.” You said. “Whatever they think about doing in that room is what they do end up doing in the bathroom.”
“Gross.”
Steve sighed “Okay, I’ll be the hero and save you ladies from cleaning the bathroom. Robin, you fix the kids section, and you can rewind the tapes.”
“I thought I was in charge here.” You crossed your arms.
“Okay, did you have a better way to divide and conquer?”
“...No.”
“Then let’s hurry up and-”
Ding!
“Who didn’t lock the door?!” you asked.
“It was Steve’s job to-” Robin started.
“Oh, shit. Hi.” Steve was staring at the person who had just walked in. You turned around and your heart jumped in your chest and your stomach dropped.
“Cursing in front of customers, Harrington?” Eddie said. “Now that’s not very professional of you.”
Robin’s eyes were darting so fast between you and Eddie that you were surprised she wasn’t giving herself vertigo. You tried to give her a pointed glare but your friend either didn’t get the hint or refused to.
“Well, we’re closed. You can’t be a customer if you can’t pay.” Steve said, putting his hands on his hips.
Eddie looked away from Steve and made eye contact with you. It had been two weeks since you’d seen him, and you glazed at his arm for a second, trying to see if the faded remains of your phone number were still stamped on his arm. Unfortunately for you he was wearing a heavy leather jacket and you had not yet developed x ray vision. Perhaps in another genre.
“Do you want to get out of here?” Eddie asked and you, ignoring Steve who looked mildly offended.
You stood there in shock for a second before Robin nudged you in the rib.
“I- uh. I have to finish closing.” you said, snapping out of it.
“Steve and I can handle the rest of closing!” Robin grabbed Steve and shook his shoulder.
“Guys, I’m literally in charge of you both. I can’t leave before you.” You said, already reaching for your bag under the counter.
“We can handle it!” Steve said.
“And I can handle Steve!” Robin added. “We close without you and Keith all the time, remember?”
You could trust Robin, and as long as Steve didn’t knock down any displays then it wouldn’t take them more than another ten minutes to finish up. You were so tempted to turn them down, make Eddie wait as you had waited for him for the past two weeks.
But you were already stepping behind the counter towards Eddie and tossing the keys to lock up to Robin. Keith would murder you and write you up (in that order) if he knew what you were doing but looking up at the roundest pair of brown eyes you’d ever seen had you in the mood to make questionable choices.
You shrugged off your vest and tossed it at Steve, in an attempt to make yourself look like you hadn’t spent the whole day dealing with unruly customers and screaming kids. Part of you almost wished that you had agreed to bathroom duty, if only to give you an excuse to look in a mirror and straighten yourself out.
“Thanks, guys.” you gave them a quick nod, catching sight of Robin’s knowing smirk and Steve shaking his head before walking out the door that Eddie was holding open for you.
The last thing you heard was the scrambling of the entrance to Family Video being locked.

Loki sauntered out of the room, hiding his eagerness to see you behind his veil of teasing. Although he would’ve liked to go directly to your room, he detoured to Dr Banner’s lab at the request of Stark’s robot assistant. The god wasn’t particularly fond of disembodied, omniscient voices telling him what to do, that was more his game, but he followed the directions to Dr Banner’s lab nonetheless.
“Doctor,” he nodded, leaning against the large desk and folding his arms across his chest.
Bruce barely looked up from the complicated diagram infront of him. Loki knew that his presence made the man uncomfortable, but he couldn’t help how others reacted to him.
“Loki, she really seemed to engage with you last time. Do you think you could ask about the Grandad? We couldn’t find any guardianship order or documents linking them. I don’t even think their DNA matches.” Bruce said, removing his glasses and wiping them on his white lab coat. He looked up at Loki then, through blurry eyes, as if staring straight at the man would turn him to stone.
“Do you have a lot of experience with women, Doctor Banner?” Loki drawled, looking at his long fingers and neat nails.
Bruce flushed cherry red in answer.
“I find that women do not respond to being interrogated.” Loki pulled the cuffs of his shirt down and the starched fabric became tighter, moulding to his muscular torso and broad shoulders.
“We just need the information, Loki. Not a date.” Bruce grumbled. “Just ask her.”
“Ask her?”
“About her Grandad,” Bruce was clearly frustrated, but kept his voice to a quiet hiss, still hidden behind his workbench.
“Hmmm…no. I’ll talk to her how I want, I’ll do what I want and what’s more, so will she.” Loki walked backwards towards the door, “and maybe, if you all behave, I’ll share with you.” He gave one last smirk before pushing both doors open and striding back into the corridor.
Tumblr media
Loki knocked on the locked door of your room, you'd made it clear you wanted respect and, what's more, Loki believed you deserved it. An honour that he knew you didn't yet understand.
“Yes?” When he pressed the intercom button, he heard your voice as a thin, wary whisper.
He entered slowly and smiled as you turned to greet him, the bracelet on your wrist caught the sun, sending sparkles of green dancing over the white clinical surfaces. He wasn’t sure if you would want to keep it on but his chest swelled at the sight of his colours complimenting you so well.
“Loki!” You smiled when you saw him, when was the last time anyone had smiled at his presence? “You came back!”
“I promised I would, did I not?” He grinned as you reached out your hand to him.
“I wanted to show you something.” You pulled him over to the smaller mirror, the real mirror, that was placed over the wash basin.
Standing in front of him you stared at your reflection, concentration written on your brow. Loki stared too and then, in the corner of your eye, a gold fleck appeared. You smiled and then gold took over the whole of your left iris and then the right.
You looked at him through the mirror, “I did that, I thought about it and I did it."
You swivelled to face him and he couldn’t help but touch you, hands on each cheek, to better examine your changing countenance and your beaming smile.
“Very good Little ásynja, it seems you did not need my assistance after all.”
“Oh no, I do, I do. This took all morning. I want to do more, I want to control my hair and my height - and  -and I want to stop people being uncomfortable around me. I want them to kiss the right people, not me, and -”
Loki ran his thumb over your bottom lip to quiet your rambling. It was a risk, but you didn’t seem to mind the attention or the touch, in fact the air got thicker in the room the longer he touched you, hot and close, his heart sped up again and sweat formed on his brow.
“Little ásynja we can practise all of those things, but we should start small.”
“Yes, teach me please.” You bounced on your heels, a glow filling the room as the sun hit full in the sky. Loki looked at his watch, 3pm. The sun was in the wrong place.
“Calm down, please. Darling,” he smoothed a hand over your hair and down your back, stilling you for a moment. “First let us find you some calm and then we will practise a simple trick.”
“Calm?”
“Yes, you must be calm so you can free your mind to explore your magic. What would make you relaxed?” Loki had a good idea of what he’d like to do to help relax you, something akin to his last visit but maybe with less clothing, but considering the sun was still in the wrong place and he wasn’t entirely sure you’d noticed, he decided to take it slow. “A bath maybe?”
You nodded, “that would be wonderful, the shower here is horrible.”
Loki waved a hand, checking for cameras and dropping fabric across the mirror again.
“A bath sounds like a good idea,” another wave and a huge copper bath appeared, high at the back with a small table next to it covered in coloured bottles and squares of lined cloth.
“Incredible,” you breathed, running a finger along the top edge, “it’s warm!” You let out a giggle and Loki could see how the mortals were so enamoured with you, your smile was infectious, bubbling as high as the bath. And as he looked at you, a feeling of joy washed over him too.
You looked around nervously, and Loki worried you might ask him to leave. Instead he resolved to make himself integral to your relaxation process, if he was indispensable then he could stay.
He placed his hands on your shoulders, “sometimes the women of Asgard would wear linen shifts when bathing in public,” his magic simmered and a soft white cotton shirt appeared around your body, a thin lace keeping it together between your breasts and collar bone.
“It’s comfortable,” you observed, playing with the lace.
“Good,” Loki smiled softly and held his hand out to help you over the tall side of the bath, and you paused there, your hand in his.
“The room isn’t very relaxing,” you glanced at the medical bed, the plain table and small window.
“Agreed," a gold halo surrounded the room, the walls darkening into wood panels, the tiny window widening into a fireplace complete with roaring fire.
“Loki, it's beautiful,” you breathed. And there was that smile again, so genuine and warm. Loki tipped his head towards the bath and supported your weight as you climbed in.
Settling against the high copper back of the bath, you sighed, your eyes fluttering closed at the sensation of the water soothing your body. The shift floated around you, giving you a distinctly angelic air that had Loki's trousers feeling uncomfortably tight.
Loki watched the pearls of water move across your body as you made waves with your hand, the smell of lavender oil permeating the room.
He took the opportunity to study your relaxed posture, no hint of inhibition when you put yours hands on the side of the bath. Loki could see your nipples, soft and pebbled, under the translucent linen and he ached to lean forward -  to climb in - to sit behind you and hold you and be the one that grounded you in your body before he helped you unleash your magic.
Loki was clouded with lust, dizzy, the room was too hot and the steam rising from the bath was creating mist on the windows and mirror.
He reached a hand in, tracing down your side with his finger, his fingertips touched the underside of your breast lightly and you sucked in a breath, holding still.
Loki looked up, catching your eyes, trapped by the black and gold that stared back. So unnatural that the hair stood up on the back of his neck. The ends of your hair stuck to your shoulders and he couldn't quite catch the colour or the texture as it shimmered and changed, your magic evaporating from you like steam and you were staring at him, boring into his soul.
“Shall we do some magic?” You asked, reaching a damp hand out to him and flicking scented water over his face.
Anger flashed through Loki's mind, immediately replaced by confusion when he saw your face, a smile at the corner of your lips. You were…playing with him.
And then the smile fell and he studied your face. Were you nervous now? When you were so happy and relaxed before.
Maybe his anger had shown too much, his confusion that anyone would want to play with or tease him, and you had retreated into yourself.
Loki steeled himself, trying to release the side of his mischief that had been hidden for a long time, the side that laughed and joked and wanted to make others laugh too.
He pulled his hand back and scooped up the water, splashing you back.
Now it was your turn to sit in shock and his heart beat loud in his ears, waiting for you to react.
Water trickled down over your cheeks and lips as they turned up into a broad smile and he matched it, flicking water from the ends of his fingers and revelling in the sound of your giggles.
His magic welled inside of him, roiling and rising at it had a thousand years ago when he was a God, and not an invader, he felt his sedir deep within himself, connected to you and Midgard. The vacant feeling that missed Asgard was hollow, but surrounded by new branches, new links, and for once he didn’t feel unwell or tired. He felt like a God.
Tumblr media
You played for a while, splashing water and allowing Loki to cast charms on the water that made waves appear, a row of magical ducklings, paddling towards you and from the depths of bath, a miniature whale, blowing fireworks as it breached the surface, it’s wide tail splashing you on it’s return to the deep.
He was incredible, this god before you, funny and kind and handsome. You knew his past, of course, but it was hard to believe that this Loki would willingly harm others. Tricks and mischief were one thing, that he radiated from his very being, but evil? Cruelty? It didn’t seem possible.
“Let us begin with an easy trick, one of my favourites," Loki said, and a small jug appeared in his hand. He filled it from the bath, while your keen eyes followed his every move until his arm snapped forward and he poured the jug over your head without warning.
Loki sat back on his heels and watched as you spluttered.
“Loki! What are you doing!”
He sat back with a grin. “Dry your hair.” He ordered, crossing his arms across his chest and leaving a damp spot on the sleeve of his shirt where he tucked his hands.
You glared at him, and then reached a hand out of the bath for a towel, but he closed his hand around wrist and slowly lowered it back into the water, “with magic,” he encouraged.
“How?”
“Just, think about it. Imagine how you want your hair to look after. You want it to be dry, but eventually you can practise changing the style, the colour, the textures. We won’t change the length or colour today, just dry it.”
You turned away from him and scrunched your face up in concentration, just dry it indeed, as if it was that simple! He couldn’t help but smile, you just looked so cute with your eyes closed, focussing so hard. The thought of you laughing and smiling with him again was in his head before he could do anything to stop it.
As the God of Mischief, Loki had spent a good deal of his childhood playing tricks and games, making fun and pulling pranks. As an adult he had assumed that he needed to evolve his pranks, make them grander. But perhaps this easy jesting was what his heart truly needed. He felt light and carefree watching you splutter as, rather than dry, your hair seemed to get wetter and heavier. Your nose wrinkled and the ends of your hair began to lighten, no longer heavy and weighed down with water.
“Ásynja, look,” you opened your eyes and looked into the small mirror Loki held for you, grinning at your reflection.
“It’ll take ages for the rest to dry though,” you grouched, touching the top of your head which was still soaking wet, but the ends were perfectly dry.
“You should be proud of your achievement,” Loki lifted your chin with a finger, “do you think those mortals can do this? No. It is hard because it is special. Again,” he snapped his fingers and water appeared above your head, dousing you once more.
“You bastard!” You laughed, snatching the jug and pouring water over him in return. Loki would normally have pulled his knives by now at such an insult, the bitter feeling of loneliness, of being the punchline of a thousand jokes for a thousand years mellowing into a distant hum as you giggled at him through your own wet hair. And Loki laughed too, a deep rumbling laugh that broke out of him and filled the room until you were both sucking in your breath, hiccuping and clutching your sides.
Loki managed to calm down long enough to bring you both back to your lesson. His smile lingered at the corners of his lips when he spoke again.
“Watch, think about being dry, picture it. And-” Loki moved his neck, the water vanishing from his shoulders and hair, the trickle on his nose gone.
You stared, in awe, and then your features shifted into a determined stare. “I think it’s harder when I’m still in the water,” you stood then, unabashed, and climbed out of the tub, dripping on the floor until a rug appeared under your feet.
You closed your eyes, clenched your fists and muttered to yourself, shifting your body as Loki had. The feeling of clinging linen was gone, instead you felt warm but dry, the hair stuck to your face was now perfectly dry and styled. You cracked one eye open and caught your reflection in Loki’s mirror.
“I did it!”
“Well done Ásynja, darling you’re doing so well!” Loki glowed with pride, you were learning quickly, discovering the depths of your magic with precision and focus.
“Now we have learnt some magic for you to practise, what else do you desire?” Loki had been hoping to guide you to himself as he watched your nipples harden under the linen of your shift.
You walked to the fireplace peering at it and inspecting the mantle that Loki had created.
“I want out of this room.” You said seriously “I won’t be a danger, I promise, I just want to be free.”
“I will do my best, darling, but you must understand they do not trust me either.”
“What about your brother?”
“Thor?”
“Yes, can he help? I’ll promise him to be good too, I really won’t start any fires,” Loki felt a little sick at the thought of you speaking to Thor, it hadn’t crossed his mind that at some point hed have to share your attention with anyone else, especially not another God. And that you would be ‘good’, he didn’t want you to be good for anyone. He wanted you to be carefree, daring, perhaps even a little wicked. He wanted to be the one to set you free. He hadn’t realised how lonely he had this time with you, his icy demeanour thawing under the rays of your smile.
“I can discuss the matter with him,” Loki agreed. “He has their favour so may be of use.”
There was a curt knock at the door, Loki was still being heavily monitored and he was sure they wouldn’t be happy about the curtain or him breaking the cameras again.
“I must go, my Little Ásynja, I will return as soon as I can,” the glimmer that Loki had created around the room changed and the sterile environment reappeared.
You took Loki by the hand and squeezed for a second, “I’ll miss you,” you gave him a shy smile and he bent down in return, aiming to place a chaste kiss on your cheek. But you turned your head, pressing your petal soft lips against his and stole a single kiss.
Loki, surprised and flustered by such a bold move, only stepped  back, attempting to rein in his control.
“I shall miss you too darling, but I will be back.” He closed the door behind him, taking one last look at you before the lock slammed into place.
Tumblr media
Loki found Thor in the main common room deep in conversation with his fellow Avengers.
“Brother, what have you discovered?!” Thor waved him closer, patting the seat next to him on the sofa.
“Why do you keep covering the mirror,” Steve asked, fiercely, speaking over Thor. Loki decided to ignore him. Your need for privacy was obvious, if the Captain couldn’t understand that then it was beyond explanation.
“You must release her. Give her a real room. Under my tutelage she is gaining control of her powers. She has not changed appearance, she is the same height. And she managed some simple magic today. Have no fear, mortals, the girl is no danger, just a little…wild, that’s all.” Loki took the seat next to Thor and inspected the cuffs of his shirt, the smell of lavender still clinging the the soft fibres.
“She is doing magic, that’s pretty dangerous.” Sam said, his concern clear but without judgement. Sam was calculating without being ruthless, like Bruce he merely wanted to understand the fullness of the situation before committing himself. Steve and Tony, on the other hand, seemed to take only a split second before becoming agitated.
“We don’t even really know who she is. She won’t even give us a name.” Steve said before turning to Loki. “But you, you call her something, what does it mean?” His tone took on an accusatory edge, his arms folded across his chest.
“Quit it Steve,” Sam tugged on his shirt, trying to get him to sit down again, “Loki is here to help.”
“What does he call her?” Thor asked, gleefully, leaning forwards in his chair.
“Would you like me to continue to teach her to control her magic? Because she requires freedom, air, access to the elements and to peace.”
“No.” Steve insisted.
“I understand,” Loki began to tease. “She is far too terrifying a being to bring out here, with your-” Loki waved his hand at the assembled group “-’heroes’. We wouldn’t want to frighten them with their own secretive, lusty, thoughts.” Loki kept his eyes trained keenly on the Captain while he lifted an eyebrow, itching for him to fight back, to fall into his traps.
“Assinyar or something, ” Steve answered Thor.
“Ásynja?” Thor asked, gleefully.
“Yes!”
Thor looked at Loki, half with love and the other half brotherly mischief, and tipped his head to the side.
“Ásynja, is that so?” Thor appeared to think for a moment, before settling back on Steve. “Loki is right.” Thor agreed, and the god almost fell off his chair, “if she is to be an Avenger she must learn with the group.”
Loki smiled genially, “Thank you, Thor.” But deep down his heart clenched at the thought of handing you over to the Avengers for good.
Tumblr media
To Loki’s relief plans had been put in motion to secure you a new lodging in the compound and it wasn’t long until he was was called down to your new room, according to Bruce you would see no one but Loki, even if it was to grant you some form of freedom around the compound. Your bedchamber was to be opposite Loki’s in the guest suite and, for insurance, Thor had been moved as well. Loki assumed Thor would be put out by his move, but he instead seemed thrilled to be taking part in such menial tasks as moving his clothes, treating the entire morning as a jolly game while Loki’s thoughts swirled frantically.
Loki had been delighted by the news, appearing early and trimmed out in his finest Asgardian leathers to accompany you around the compound to your new quarters. But he was still uneasy about the Avenger’s involvement and, somewhere deep down, concerned about your true nature.
All thoughts were forgotten as soon as you smiled at him though, taking his hand in your own and walking close by his side back to your new rooms.
“They don’t like me anymore,” you’d mumbled, taking an extra step to keep up with his long strides.
“They are selfish. They are fickle. They are mortal. We must make allowances.” Loki answered, briskly, tucking your hand into the crook of his elbow.
“You keep saying they are mortal like I’m not. What did you see when you saw my memories?” You came to a stop and stood before him, hands on your hips as your piercing gaze bore into his own.
Loki was taken aback, he hadn’t realised you were aware of him entering your thoughts. He was speechless, how was he to explain what he had seen?
“Let us sit down, darling,” Loki looked very serious and it did nothing to fade your fears. “If I tell you all now, well, I don’t know what would happen. I believe the common parlance on Midgard is 'blow your mind’?”
“Wow, okay. So. That bad?” You chewed your lip.
“You remember your Grandfather, yes”
“Yes”
“When did you go to live with him Ásynja?”
“When I was very young.”
“And do you know your age, have any pictures or memories, school books? Do you mean you were a babe in arms, or a child?”
“Well, no,” you looked frightened suddenly, your eyes darting back and forth as you dove into your memories. He was right, you couldn’t remember.
“No. Because, my darling, he was not your grandfather. I have yet to discover who he truly is because you don’t know.”
“That means, at some point, I did at least know that he wasn’t my Grandad?”
You were smart, he liked that.
“Perhaps, yes.”
“Why did I stay? Why was I there then?”
“Darling you were drugged. Sedated. Kept there. You are much older than they thought and t that old man and he is not your grandfather.”
“Wait, what, go back. How old am I?”
“So as to avoid 'blowing your mind’ let’s go backwards slowly so you can get used to it. If you were, say, twenty-five,you would have been born in the late 1990s. But I have seen your memories of you at Glastonbury, 1970.”
“Wow, as, like, a kid?” You sat heavily on one of the modern leather couches dotted about the corridors.
“No,” Loki put his hands on either side of your face,  “just like this, except you were powerful, in control. You’ve done this before, that’s how I know you can control these powers.” Standing over you like this, he blocked the light until all you could see was his serious face looking back. Loki concentrated on the memory he had seen and he could feel you searching for it too as he slipped back inside of your memories. You smiled as the images came flooding back, the smell of beer and flowers and patchouli oil, the feel of the sun on her bare skin, long linen skirts wrapping around her knees and ankles as she danced in circles.
You pulled away with a gasp, “Have you told the others?”
“No,” Loki looked affronted. “Of course not.”
“Okay, good. Good.” You chewed the tip of your thumb again absently. Loki reached his hand over to your mouth, brushing your thumb away with his own.
“And I never will unless you want me to.” He insisted, cupping your cheek in one broad hand. He was as cool as always, but it was a welcome relief to your heated body. Whatever was going on was deeper than you’d thought, just some mutant gene that had been dormant during your childhood. To be alive in 1970 and still looking as you did…that was something more.
“Let’s keep it between us.” You waved a hand between the small gap between you both and how could he do anything but obey when you looked at him like that.
Loki nodded, taking your hand and leading you further down the corridor towards your new rooms, you were silent for a while and then, as if struck by lightning, you were full of energy.
“Well. Now I know I’m powerful, I can show you something!” You  looked excited and Loki brimmed with pride that he had brought this excitement, this assurance, out of you. “I’ve been practising.”
Loki knew you had, your appearance had been stable for the last three days, even when you were angry you’d manage to maintain yourself. Plus, he had heard you training, muttering encouragement to yourself as you stared in the mirror. All you had to say was his name and it became a prayer chant in his mind.
You took Loki’s hand between your small palms, one hand above and one below. When you pulled them away you slowly revealed a thin silver ring with a delicate, dark sapphire set deep into the band.
“A gift,” you whispered looking up at him through your lashes, “from one god to another.”
And he kissed you, he couldn’t help it, you were all consuming. Your magic tangible, drawing him closer until he was engulfed by it, swallowed in the glow that you created, the sunlight and heat spreading from your body across and mixing with the crackle of his own magic. Was it sedir or lust at your fingertips, he couldn’t tell until they burnt him.
Loki took your wrists, holding you away from him with a jovial smile.
“Darling, please desist from burning me."

"I mean, everyone already thinks we're dating"
still not my best work but this one's fun :)
summary: when trevor shows up at the party with the matching costume to yours, setting you guys up to look like a couple, sparks fly
word count: 827
warnings: none :)
Tumblr media
"I mean, everyone thinks we're dating"
"My lip gloss is all over your lips"
Despite what everyone else at the party thought, mine and Trevor’s corresponding costumes were not at all planned. It was simply coincidental that he happened to be dressed as Flynn Rider while I had dressed up as Rapunzel. But no matter how many times we denied it, absolutely no one was convinced.
“Y’know, I can distinctly remember Jack wearing a very similar costume to yours at last year's party,” I shouted over the music, clutching onto his shoulder to keep him crouched at my level. His hair brushed my cheek as he turned to look at me, a shit-eating grin plastered on his face.
“Well I did tell you my costume was a bit last minute since it didn’t get here in the mail until yesterday.” His voice sent shivers down my back as his lips barely brushed my ear. I raised my eyebrow at him as he sent me a wink. Jack’s costume last year had been the inspiration for mine this year and he just so happened to be one of the only people I had told about who I had planned to dress up as tonight.
“He told you, didn’t he?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, blondie,” Trevor attempted to deadpan but his mouth betrayed him as it turned up into a smile. “Yeah, he told me. I needed an idea and he let it slip that you were dressing up as your favourite princess.” My heart fluttered slightly, knowing that he knew my favourite princess off the bat. It wasn’t even something that was all that important to me but it meant that he had remembered such a small factoid that I had told him. And that meant everything considering the crush I had been secretly harbouring for him practically since we’d met.
“So you decided to pretty much do an unofficial couple’s costume with me?”
“I mean, everyone already thinks we’re dating,” he shrugged. “What’s the harm in kidding them a bit?” I paused. This was my opportunity.
“Why stop at just dressing up as a couple?” His brow quirked up over the rim of his red solo cup. “Or am I kidding myself by saying this?” My words came out quieter but the look on his face was enough indication that he had managed to hear me over all the background noise. His eyes were big and round as they bore into mine, his mouth slightly open as his cup lowered. My breath hitched and my heart pounded against my ribcage as he stepped even closer and bent down slightly to be eye-to-eye with me.
“Am I kidding myself if I kiss you right now?” My cheeks flushed as his eyes dragged over my face. My head shook slightly as my eyes flickered from his eyes to his pink lips that quirked up at the corners at my reaction. “I’m gonna need words if I’m going to do this, babe.”
“You’re not kidding yourself, Trev,” I uttered, meeting his eyes through my lashes.
“So?”
“So if you’re gonna kiss me: kiss me.” His face parted in such a large grin I was sure his face might split in half. His unoccupied hand came up to cup my cheek as his lips met mine. His other arm snaked around my waist, cautious not to spill any of his drink over my costume. My arms wound around his neck, my hands finding their way into the soft curls at the back of his head. His lips were soft as they moved against mine. I could taste whatever he was drinking on his tongue but I was too deep into the haze of my emotions to care. With him this close, practically flush to my body, I was engulfed in everything that was Trevor. His scent, his taste, his hands. Everything that made up the boy I fell for. The boy who remembered my favourite Disney princess. Who took me for McFlurries at three in the morning. Who made me laugh more than anyone or anything else but who I also trusted with my most precious secrets.
His lips turned up in a smile causing my own to do the same until the kiss was more teeth and laughter than anything else. I pulled away only for him to follow and place one, two, three more soft kisses on my lips. His forehead came to rest against my own, my arms still wrapped around his neck as his dropped to my waist and pulled me even closer to him. His face was flushed, his lips swollen and red and his eyes bright as they looked into mine which I’m sure held a similar quality.
“Y’know my lip gloss is all over your lips now,” I uttered, just loud enough for him to hear.
“Good. Now everyone will know who I’m here with and who I’m leaving with.”
“Like our costumes don’t already give that away.”
“That was the plan all along, blondie.”

Think About Me - (c.b)
Pairing: Colby Brock x fem!reader
Warnings: maybe a swear word or two, angst to fluff
Tumblr media
“But now that we’re done and it’s over
I bet you couldn’t believe
When you realized I’m harder to forget
Than I was to leave
I bet you think about me.”
“He asked about you the other day.” My eyes shot up from the computer screen at Kat’s words as we sat in my darkened living room. “Sam misses you too.”
“I don’t feel guilty.” Colby and I had been together for two years when he ended things. It had been another argument. Hateful words thrown at each other like sharpened daggers intended to kill. In the end, his excuse for the breakup was that our personalities clashed and we were just too different.
Now, months later, after removing myself completely from his life he still felt the need to ask Kat about my whereabouts or more importantly my current dating life. She did her best to stay neutral claiming we were both her friends but I knew it affected her being caught in the crossfire.
“Anyway, Sam can call me. I broke up with Colby. Not him.” Kat shrugged her shoulders and popped a few pieces of popcorn in her mouth. “What did he even ask this time?”
“If you were dating anyone.” Part of me wanted to believe that Colby felt guilty about how things ended between us. That was why he kept such close tabs on how I was doing but as weeks turned into months and he didn’t reach out I knew it was just his way of making sure I wasn’t moving on. That I was just as stuck as he was. “I love Colby but,” She paused waving her hand to swallow whatever she had eaten and flattened her palms out on the couch. “If he wants to talk to you, I’m sure you would answer.”
“You’re giving me too much credit, KitKat.” With a swift eye roll she throws a piece of popcorn at me and I chuckle lightheardly. As we go back to watching whatever show is playing on the television I know her words ring true; if Colby were to call me, I’d answer.
Fall had always been my favorite time of the year. Apple picking, pumpkin carving, and Halloween being some of my favorite pastimes. That’s when being with Colby had been the easiest. It was the constant feeling of putting that last puzzle piece into the puzzle. The arguments had subsided and our days were filled with laughter as both of us prepared for our favorite holiday.
“What are you and Colby going as?” Kat asked looking at the dress in the mirror that was pressed against her body as she twirled around in debate. “Sam and I were thinking of going as Alice and Mad Hatter.”
“That would be so cute!” My excitement quickly fizzled as I recalled Colby and I’s conversation from the day prior. “Colby suggested not doing couple costumes this year. Which is weird because he seemed so excited about it two weeks ago.” Kat’s eyebrows furrow together in confusion and the dress in her hands is forgotten.
“But Colby loves couples costumes. He and Amber did matching costumes the year before you two got together and they weren’t even dating. Did you ask him about it?” I scoff and look down at the rack of shirts in front of me.
“Obviously. You know what he said?” I pause and she shakes her head. “I don’t see the big deal, babe. It’s just a costume.”
“Something is up with him.” As if on cue my phone vibrates and I pull it from my pocket. As my eyes skim over the text I can feel a lump in my throat. “Hey, everything okay?” I shake my head and push my phone into her hands as tears begin to roll down my cheeks. “Are you serious? He broke up with you through text?” A choked sob escapes my lips and Kat quickly wraps an arm around my shoulder to lead me from the store.
“Hey. Where did you go just now?” Kat asked as I look up from my dinner plate.
“Just thinking. Can I ask you something?” She nods before pressing her elbows against the table and resting her chin against her palms. “Why was it a text? Didn’t I at least deserve some kind of explanation?”
“Honey, you didn’t do anything wrong with Colby. You loved him. You gave him everything you had to offer and he was just too ungrateful to see it. I love Colby and I love you. I don’t want to place the blame on anyone. Was he wrong to break up with you through text? Yes. He should have spoken to you in person but sometimes people just grow apart. Maybe it was the right person at the wrong time.” I sigh heavily and push my plate away, my appetite long gone.
“I just wish-“ my words are cut short by a knock on my door.
“Are you expecting someone?” I shake my head before rising to my feet and heading to the door of my apartment. “Are we about to be robbed?”
“Kat!” She shrugs her shoulders and I turn towards the door to look through the peephole. Standing on the other side is a drenched Colby Brock. “It’s Colby.” Kat’s eyes widen as she races over to the door and pushes me out of the way to see for herself.
“I’m heading home. Let him in.” She says frantically as she begins to grab her purse and jacket. “Talk.” Her eyes are pleading as she grips onto my forearm before throwing the door open. “Colby! Didn’t expect to see you all the way out here.” She gives me one last look before retreating down the hall and out of sight. My eyes finally land on the man leaning against the doorframe. Water dripping from his drenched clothes and his eyes red rimmed and watery.
“Colby? What are you doing here?” He clears his throat before motioning behind him with his left hand.
“I, uh,” he pauses as if he’s trying to find the right words to say. “I heard your favorite song on the radio and I turned it up.” I raise my eyebrows in confusion waiting for him to continue. “I hate that song. I turned it up because that’s what I did for you. Any time that song came on the radio you would light up. Just like the sun. So I would turn the radio up and when you weren’t there, it hit me like a train.” More tears roll down his cheeks and he uses his wet sleeve to attempt to wipe them away. “I messed up. Months ago.”
“Colby, if I let you in, you have to promise me I will not get hurt.” He reaches out a shaky hand to which I happily oblige. “Colbs, you’re freezing.” A small smile creeps onto his face as his eyes meet mine briefly.
“God, I missed that.” I pull him into my apartment before starting to pull at the hem of his hoodie. “Woah, take me to dinner first.” He jokes before inhaling deeply.
“Colby.” I warn. “You need to get out of these clothes and into a warm bath.” His hand presses against my cheek and I finally meet his eyes for longer that a fleeting moment.
“Take me back. Please.” My heart aches at the crack in his voice and I sigh heavily into the space between us.
“Promise me I won’t get hurt.”
“I promise. Never again. Not intentionally.” For a moment my mind wanders back to the months of heartache that had me in shackles but as I stare into his blue eyes the fear starts to melt away and I lean into him. His lips meet mine in a fervent kiss before he’s guiding us backwards towards the room we used to share. “I have other way for us to warm up.” He mumbles in between kisses.
“Oh, you perv.” And before I can say anything else he hoist me up by my thighs to carry me away from the living room.

You couldn’t blame the shock on anyone’s face whenever you and Yunho went out together in a friendly manner, even though it pains you to say it out loud. But it doesn’t mean it wasn’t annoying to notice it for the 150th time, someone whispering about the two of you behind your back in a restaurant nearby your office.
You took another deep breath as you played with the chains of your bag on your lap, a simple way to relieve stress that Yunho wouldn’t notice and wouldn’t ask about it.
“Hey, what’s wrong?”, you noticed his beautiful smile turn into a slight frown. “You’re pouting”.
There’s no way in hell that you are pouting, so you could only look at Yunho with the utmost outraged expression you could muster, but these days, it wasn’t much. That stupid motherfucker knows he makes you smile with a snap of his fingers.
“I’m not”.
“Oh really? So you are not looking like a pouty puppy right now for a reason you don’t want to tell me”.
“I’ll let slide the fact that you just called me puppy, what do you want to order?”, you held up the menu as you tried your hardest to keep yourself together.
He always knows somehow, but never pushes you more than you want to tell him. In his mind, someday you would open up to it, but that’s where he is wrong. You rather die than let your secret off your heart.
“You’re doing that again”, Yunho whined as he pushed the menu in your hands down.
You were surprised just as much as he was. That wasn’t thought through at all. Now, he was the one pouting, and you didn’t want anything else besides kissing it away, but you couldn’t, could you? You were paralyzed by the scene in front of you.
Yunho was mesmerizing without knowing. The way his blonde hair moved ever so slightly by the slow wind coming from the nearby windows, how his eyes would become little lines when he laughed and his ears would turn red as he lowered his head anytime you complement him.
He was so beautiful, and you were so frustrated that he would never think the same of you.
“Excuse me”, that same sweet voice that whispered how cute Yunho was behind you, sounded confident now. She stood beside your table, a nice smile on her face as she focused solely on him.
Fuck me, why does she have to be soo his type too?
Her good girl style matched perfectly with his husband material style. The epitome of the perfect girl for Yunho, which you always knew it wasn’t you. Sometimes you wondered if you just changed a little… then you remembered who you are and how you’d never do that, not even for him.
You wanted to throw yourself off the window as Yunho gave her a perfect polite smile, which was what a nice reasonable person would do, but you stopped caring about reasonable for a long time.
“I was just wondering… are you two on a date right now?”, she barely looked at you while saying that. “I don’t want to bother, if you are”.
“Yes, we are, so you can go back to whisper behind our back”.
It was a tough competition between who was more surprised, Yunho or the girl, yet you remained as calm and collected as you were, staring straight at her. Her smile fell so fast, her demeanor changing as quick as her confidence left her body.
It was a pleasing sight to watch, you couldn’t lie to yourself. Maybe if she wasn’t as dismissive of you, you could feel empathy and regret, but that was far from the case.
Yunho held in the waves of emotions going through him as the girl focused back on him, to confirm what you just said, in hopes maybe he would like her more somehow.
“I think your friends are calling for you”, Yunho said as he looked from the girl to the others behind your table.
She didn’t need another sign to excuse herself.
Yunho never stared at you with this much intensity, he wasn’t smiling. Your own confidence and poker face begin to slip up as you waited for him to say something, anything, even laugh at the scene that just unfolded.
Even if everything goes down hill with Yunho now, she also doesn’t get to be with him.
It’s a selfish thought, but it’s one that brings a tiny bit of comfort to your heart as you heard them all leave the restaurant.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
His question made you want to scream. There was so much you never said, so much you didn’t want to say still, what does he know now? That you’re jealous of him? That you like him? That maybe you’ve been into him for some time? Then he doesn’t know anything at all.
“Why didn’t you tell me that people whispering about us bothered you?”
He wasn’t asking the right question and he knew it. But now you know that he heard it too, that he notices every time it happened too, and still never said anything about it.
Your eyes fell to the menu in your hands. You could barely think, but he was waiting for a real answer.
“It doesn’t”, you heard the scoff leaving his mouth. “It didn’t-”, you correct yourself. “It didn’t, but these people need a lesson to mind their own business, don’t you think?”, you looked up at him again, the walls around you raising again.
“I do”, he leaned on the chair, a smirk growing on his face. “So, we’re dating now?”
“Fine, tease me about this as much as you want”, you smiled to yourself, not a happy one, no, but a content enough smile. “It must be fun for you to have that much attention”, you didn’t want to sound bitter, but you were.
“But I only want your attention”. He didn’t even hesitate to say that. His eyes looking for yours, but you still refused to look him in the eyes. “Hey-”, his hand grabbed yours and held it into his as you let go of the menu. “Don’t you believe me?”
He leaned in, his face tilted to the side as he watched your every move. You felt burning hot with all of his attention on you, specially like this, like your answer, like you, could make his night or ruin it.
“Of course I believe you, but that doesn’t make a difference at the end of the day be-”, you looked up at him.
“Because you act like you don’t like me even if you do”, he interrupted you.
You both went silent, trying to decipher each other’s reactions.
“You only figured that out now?”.
Once again, you caught him off guard. Yunho expected at least a shy smile from you, but he was the one blushing. The thought of you liking him for a long time made his heart flutter.
“Are you going to show me how much you like you me now?”, he wet his lips, catching your attention to it.
That shut you up, and he smiled wide, clearly satisfied with himself.
“Since when did you get that bold?”, you couldn’t resist the urge to smile yourself.
“Oh, you know perfectly who did this to me, don’t even pretend like it wasn’t you”.
You kept the act, even thought you knew it was true. You never let Yunho’s parents dream about it, but you were the bad influence between the two of you since you two met, all of those years ago.
Then, you gestured for him to come closer to you, and he did in such a naive innocence, that almost made you feel bad about the things you said next.
“What about we go to your house, so I show you all the things I still want to do to you, hm?”
You left the restaurant with a clearly embarrassed, distraught and hurried Yunho pulling you to his car. You both didn’t have much time of your lunch break, but that didn’t mean Yunho wouldn’t use every single second of it to his advantage.

Chapter 9
Tumblr media
I threw myself into work to distract myself from what happened between Taehyung and I. Yoongi had messaged me a few times regarding our date this weekend and even called me once, but I ignored them. I felt bad ghosting him like that, but I still didn’t know what to say to him. Kat knew something had happened, but I couldn’t even bring myself to tell her. She had pretty much concluded that it had something to do with Taehyung though as he stopped by the shop Monday afternoon while I was gone to lunch.
She said he wanted to talk to me and left his phone number which I didn’t take. It still sat on the notepad next to the cash register. On Tuesday, Jungkook came in to help with the shop so I could go see Namjoon. I did find time to call him over the weekend and ask if it would be okay to swing by. He seemed excited to hear from me, telling me it was fine and he would see me then.
“Alright. Show me what shall be my masterpiece today.” Jungkook said rubbing his hands together.
I asked Kat to man the front of the store while I led Jungkook to the workstation in the back.
“I’m putting you in charge of mystery baskets. They’re probably the easiest and most fun anyway. You can’t really go wrong putting one together since they’re a mystery gift. Just make sure you’re including the correct number of items and match the theme they’re wanting. Also throw in a coupon with each one. All online orders get one with their purchase.”
I handed him the sheet I printed this morning with the most updated number of orders separated based on basket theme. I started with K-pop themed gift baskets which were a hit and slowly expanded my inventory to include other things like superheroes or holiday baskets.
“Some of them are bit more specific like our K-pop ones. Some of them are generalized and prefer anything, but others like this one want a particular group. If you’re not familiar with them, just ask Kat. She’s well-versed in it. It was her idea to begin with.”
“I know a few. So I’m just grabbing whatever I want to put in it right?”
“Pretty much.”
He nodded looking eager to get started, so I left him to it.
“I’ll be back soon!” I hollered to him and Kat who both bid me goodbye.
Tumblr media
Surprisingly, Namjoon’s office really wasn’t that far from the shop. Walking in, I was greeted by the receptionist who was very excited to meet me.
“Mr. Kim has been asking me almost every day if you had called.”
“Oh really?” I asked surprised and a little bit worried.
Now I felt really bad that it had taken me so long to get back to him. She knocked twice on the door to Namjoon’s office announcing that I was here. Seconds later, the door swung open revealing a pristine looking Namjoon in his grey suit with a big smile sporting the deepest pair of dimples I had ever seen. Huh. I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed them before.
“Thank you Areum. Y/N please come in.”
His office was rather large. A huge desk settled in one half of the room, the other hosting two comfy looking couches. In a nutshell, it reminded me a lot of Jungkook’s, except the color scheme was different. Whereas Jungkook’s was navy blues and creams, Namjoon’s was a deep forest green and soft gray. We both took a seat on the couches, Namjoon across from me. I held out the manila envelope containing my papers which he took.
“Have you had anyone look at it before?”
I shook my head. “I was told when I signed that the only way to regain sole proprietorship would be to buy it from him. Plus, I sincerely doubted my father would make it that easy otherwise for me to get out of it.”
Namjoon nodded flipping through the pages before closing them again to look at me. “Well, if there is a way, I’ll be sure to find it. Sometimes there’s hidden clauses and loopholes that we can work around. It may take me a couple of days to review this. I’m currently working a case that’s been having me put in more overtime than I would like.”
“Don’t worry about it. Consider this as being on a backburner. I’m in no rush. Just let me know how much your rate is and I can pay you half up front.”
He raised an eyebrow before letting a small smile slip through. “Y/N I’m not letting you pay me.”
“Of course you are. You’re putting in the time so I’ll compensate.”
“Actually, I volunteered to help you. When I offered, I had no intention of making you pay.”
“Namjoon I have to give you something. It wouldn’t be fair for me to have you working on a case for me and not be paid.”
He thought for a moment before shifting on the couch. He leaned forward, placing his elbows on his knees and interlacing his fingers in front of him.
“Okay. If you insist on it, I’ll accept.”
I breathed a sigh of relief, happy to be getting my way.
“But I’m not taking any money from you.”
My brows furrowed. “Then how am I paying you?”
His coffee-colored gaze was soft. Something I appreciated after being assaulted by the intense gazes of the other Telepathy men I’ve met with lately. He was very handsome with his dark brown hair swept back. His strong features accentuated without the length of it masking them.
“There’s an event for one of the companies I work with being held on Christmas day. I am, unfortunately, required to attend. I’d like you to attend as my plus one.”
“Me? Are you sure?”
He nodded. “I’m sure. I think it’s better than having you emptying your wallet, don’t you?”
Those damn dimples were back. I wanted to refuse him, but it was obvious that this was the solution he had determined appropriate for the current situation since he was adamant he wouldn’t be taking my money. I didn’t want to be in his debt though either. Besides, thanks to my upbringing, I was groomed to participate in public appearances such as these. My father had forced me to go to many of them growing up with the expectation that I would one day be taking over.
So, it wasn’t like I would embarrass Namjoon. It would just be boring as hell.
“Fine. If you’re sure there’s no other way I can pay you back, I’ll go with you.”
“Great. I’ll send you the official invitation.”
Namjoon offered to walk me out. Upon exiting his office I didn’t miss the way his receptionist sent me a wink. Although I hardly knew her, I couldn’t help but think she’d get along great with Kat. Then again, there was probably only enough room in my life for one Kat, I didn’t need a twin thrown in the mix. Thanking Namjoon for his time and reassuring him again that it didn’t need to be looked at right away, I left. Deep down, a lingering satisfaction made its home. It felt like I had taken a huge leap towards my end goal. Having the help of someone like Namjoon was indispensable. The comfort he brought with him was infectious. After that meeting, I was sure things would turn around.
My trip back to the shop, I was in much higher spirits than when I left. If I was being honest, I wasn’t real sure what I should be expecting leaving Jungkook and Kat alone while I was gone, but it sure as hell wasn’t Kat showing Jungkook all the embarrassing pictures of me during our brief time in college. Which was exactly what I walked in on. They both were hunched over the front counter, cracking up while hovering over her phone.
“What are you guys looking at?” I questioned warily.
Jungkook’s eyes met mine. His face stretched into the widest smile possible.
“Y/N, I didn’t realize you were such an avid Harry Potter fan.”
“Uh, I’m not.”
Making my way over to where they were, I peeked over to see Kat was showing Jungkook pictures of me straddling a broom wearing a cloak in the middle of what was originally a soccer field from the one Quidditch tournament I participated in. The only reason I even played was because my roommate at the time said her team needed another player and somehow I was roped into it. Gasping, I attempted to snatch the phone from her, but she was faster holding it out of reach.
“Kat! I told you to delete those!”
My protests set Jungkook off again who very nearly collapsed to the floor from laughing so hard. Kat wasn’t far behind him still making sure I couldn’t reach the offending device.
“I can’t just delete them. These are gold.”
“Those are embarrassing is what they are.” I growled, smacking her since I couldn’t reach her phone.
“I think it’s cute.” Jungkook forced out trying to catch his breath. “I can honestly say, I’ve never seen anyone actually play that before.”
“Oh I have a video of it too.” Kat announced scrolling to find it.
The last thing I needed was for Jungkook to see me looking like a newborn foal, clumsily running up and down the field with a broom between my legs looking like I was about to die from exhaustion.
“Kat I swear to god. I’ll tell Jackson about what really happened to his car on new year’s two years ago.”
That got Kat’s attention as she froze, narrowing her eyes at me.
“You wouldn’t.”
“Try me.”
Reluctantly, she put her phone away much to Jungkook’s amusement. Once I was satisfied that those awful photos weren’t going to make a reappearance, I turned to Jungkook.
“How did the baskets go?”
“Good. I finished them about fifteen minutes before you got back.”
My shoulders sagged in relief. Another several orders down and another thing off my plate.
“I really can’t thank you enough for helping out today.”
He waved me off. “I had fun. Actually, I was thinking I could make it a more routine thing. Swing by when I get some free time at the office? Would that be okay?”
I looked at him surprised. My brain trying to decipher whether it was actually hearing things or not.
“Wait, really? Are you sure?”
He leaned over the counter, placing his forearms against the cool glass and interlacing his fingers.
“I mean, yeah. I had fun today and I got to help you out. Plus, I have a lot of fun with you and Kat.”
Kat tsked, giving Jungkook a harsh poke to the side making him squirm as she walked past the two of us towards the back room.
“Watch it stud. I’m a happily taken woman.”
Jungkook chuckled and I smiled looking at her fondly as she left. Once she was out of sight Jungkook looked back at me with a shy grin.
“I’m serious though. I really do love it here.”
Internally cooing at how adorable he was in this moment, I let him break down my walls.
“How can I say no to that then?”

Meeting the Haitani brothers in their clubs
A/N: literally no one asked for this but I am a firm believer the Haitani brothers are raveheads. Rindou is for sure a wook, while Ran stays in his progressive house lane. I could literally talk about them and their music taste for hours, writing a dissertation as we speak.
Haitani Rindou Artists inspo: ATLiens, Svdden Death, Rezz
⁍When you first met Rindou you were at one of his smaller clubs. Definitely an edm club, one that he owned for fun and not to push drugs or be a cover for any other illegal activity. He knew it was a silly club but it's one he often visited for the fun of it if he wasn't doing business. That's when he was his most casual. ⁍He was by the bar area, leaning by the rails of the elevated section and looking out to the sea of ravers. That's when he saw you. Across the masses, you were on one of the pillars that has some footing (not its intended purpose but you know what it worked). It let you be above the crowd for some air, really taking in the lights and visuals of the artist performing.  ⁍He’s seen it done before, not a new concept, so he let it be. Though his eyes lingered for a beat longer than normal of any other girls that frequented his club. For one, he hadn’t seen you before, a newcomer he assumed. But you were so comfortable in the scene it must have not been your first rave. Second, your attire might have matched his aesthetic in terms of rave gear than anyone else. All black, showing skin in a tasteful way, but paired with spikes and chains. Hot.  ⁍He watched you every now and again throughout the night, but not acting on anything. And then he saw you next weekend. And the weekend after that. And each time, no matter the artist, your aesthetic regularly stayed the same save for a jersey or pashmina that matched the artist. Each time you were heavily involved. Either fanning the crowd to give some air, trading kandi, hell even turning up in the pit.  ⁍The third time he saw you Rindou decided to say something. He got there early enough before the crowd started to form. You turned to him with a bright smile, and he thought just for a second you were too pure to be here.  ⁍You got to talking before it got too loud, and he learned you were new to the city, and you just found this club. He asked you your opinion, almost anxious on what you thought of his club. When you gushed over how amazing it was, he almost preened. ⁍Rindou wasn’t much of a smooth talker, didn’t really continue much conversation from there but he lingered, dancing and headbanging with you to each of the performers. You gave him a piece of kandi for the great night and wished him a safe trip home. ⁍He spoke to you again the weekend after that, and ultimately decided to just man up and ask for your number. You gladly gave it to him. Your hangouts eventually made it out of the club, now turning into breakfast dates, lunch dates, park dates.  ⁍Rindou over time confided in you, telling you that the club you frequented was his, and your eyes almost popped out of their sockets. He laughed in your face, immediately apologizing but it was too funny not to.  ⁍The two of you continued to see each other in and out of the rave scene, promise of this new found relationship blooming into something more.
Haitani Ran Artist inspo: Slushii, Dabin, Elephante
⊛Like his brother, Ran owns an edm club too, though a much different vibe. You were a bottle service girl at his club, and a diligent one at that. You’ve jumped in to help on nights you weren’t supposed to work, and even took on cleaning shifts if the rest of the bar was understaffed. ⊛All the bottle girls knew Ran, he liked to hire them personally to make sure they all fit the bill he was looking over (aka running background checks on them and making sure they were clean.) ⊛Every night he’d show up you greeted him with a cheery ‘good evening, Mr. Haitani!’ to which he responded with ‘you can always call me Ran, pretty girl.’ It ended with a giggle and a roll of the eyes, before heading off to your duties. ⊛You weren’t any different than the rest of them, not really, but he did notice you tended to get more tips than the rest and he was interested to know what you did. Maybe it was heavy flirting? Or maybe you ended up taking shots with the poor bastards and you milked them dry of their money that way? ⊛When he started watching you more, he noticed he was completely wrong. While the other girls tried to dance sexy with their tables you actively ended up singing all the words to the songs the performers would play and headbanged with them. That’s what got you more tips, you genuinely enjoyed the music. Huh.  ⊛At the end of the night while you cleaned up Ran came to find you and ask you about it. Oh boy, your face heated up so much you swore you could fry an egg on your forehead. You apologized for your behavior, stating that you ‘just really like the music, so working is really fun’.  ⊛Ran threw his head back and laughed, and asked you out on the spot. You paused, confused at the random offer and started to decline. That was your boss and you were pretty sure it was definitely against policy. ⊛But Ran was so pleasant and asked so pretty it was hard to say no. ⊛So you went on a date with him, thinking it would be one and done, and that it’d be short. Turns out, you had the best night of your life with him.  ⊛Every shift after that started the same, with your eager ‘good evening, Mr. Haitani’ his rebuttal ‘Call me Ran, pretty girl’, a giggle and smile.  ⊛And ended the same, Ran driving you home with a kiss and finally getting to hear you say ‘good night, Ran’.

Are You Sick?
Tumblr media
Pairing: Protective!Solo Sikoa x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Fluff!
Word Count: 842
Summary: You find yourself sick, but it doesn't go unnoticed by the others and especially, Solo.
A/N: Requested by Anonymous: “Can you please do more solo fics.” Hope You Enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The moment you woke up, you knew you were sick. The way you felt hot, but also cold at the same time didn't go unnoticed. The way your nose was stuffed up, making it hard for you to breathe, and the nasty cough you would have.
The amount of weight your bag was putting on you, made you feel like you were gonna fall. Sami was first to notice you, getting up to greet you. "Ah, there she is! Y/n, how are you?" You sniffled, grabbing a chair next to Solo and laying your head on the table. "Fine." Your voice was hoarse and raspy as you answered him.
Everyone turned and looked at you. "Hey, you alright?" Sami tried touching you, but Solo stopped him. "Don't touch her." The surprised expressions that came across everyone's face was no surprise. Even you were shocked. Solo talked! He never talks to anyone, but he talks about you.
Solo grabbed your head, tilting your chin up, looking at your face and into your eyes. "You look pale. Have you eaten?" Your mouth was agape as you couldn't figure if he was talking to you. Roman watched in amusement as you were the only person Solo would talk to, other than Sami.
“Uh, I-I don't know?" Sami slightly chuckled at your answer. “What do you mean, ‘I don’t know?’ Did you eat, or not?” You shook your head no, still looking at Solo.
Without another word, Solo went to the food area and started making you a plate. Jey and Jimmy smiled at one another, seeing their little brother growing a crush. “He likes you.” Sami sang, making Roman chuckle. “No he doesn’t, he is just looking out for me.”
Solo came back, silencing everyone as they watched. “Eat something and see if you feel better.” You tried telling him that you weren’t hungry, it was just a cold, but he didn’t let it slide. “No, you need to eat it. We can’t have you pass out mid match, can we?” The way he spoke to you made you wanna sink into a hole and never come out.
You mumbled an ‘Okay’ and began eating what was on your plate. You're not gonna lie when you say after you 're done, you felt a little better, but it was just your nose and a cough that was the real problem. “How are you feeling now?” Solo asked, putting his hand on your forehead. “I’m fine, but my nose is runny, but that won’t stop me from having my match!”
You excitedly got up and made your way over to the exit until you were pulled back into a strong chest. “You need to rest.” He carried you back to the table and sat you down. He took his hoodie off and placed it over you, putting your feet across his lap. “Sleep.” Roman was shocked to see Solo act so protective over you.
He usually isn’t one to speak with the family, but right now he’s acting like a teenage boyfriend who’s concerned for his girlfriend. And y’all aren’t even dating! “My match-” Solo held his hand up, stopping you and shaking his head. “You can have it another time, you need to care about yourself more than work.” You laid back, in defeat, knowing he was right.
“Whatever.” You closed your eyes, trying to force yourself to sleep until you really did.
-
Later on in the afternoon, you woke up to the sound of voices talking. You felt like you were on a cushion, something comfy. You acted like you were asleep, listening to the conversation.
“Tribal Chief, Sir. Do you think Solo really likes Y/n?” You couldn’t see what was happening, but you heard laughing. “Why else would he get so protective over me touching her or when she tried to leave for her match? That’s gotta be a yes!” The boys gossiped, but stopped when the door opened, to which you assumed it was Solo.
You felt a dip on the couch and a hand coming to rub in your hair.
Maybe getting sick wasn’t so bad.
