Kashmir, a region with a captivating ethnic diversity, is home to many fascinating communities. Parveena and her daughter, Rubeena, are part of an ethnic group known as Gujjar. During the summer, they live high in the mountains alongside their cattle, surrounded by the beauty of nature. However, as winter approaches, they migrate to the warmer valleys. The life of these people is challenging, but, like many traditional communities, they maintain a deep connection with spirituality, which gives them strength and hope. For instance, little Rubeena wears a Ta’wiz around her neck, a special amulet containing a few verses from the Quran.

“This is the place where you can witness some of the most eccentric weddings in the world. I’m talking about Oaș Country, a fascinating region in Northern Romania.

Alexandra is proudly wearing her wedding dress during the Feast of the Assumption, just before her wedding. She moved to France with her parents, many years ago, and now studies law there. But she came to her birthplace, for her wedding. Her story is the story of the entire region.

Most people from this region work hard abroad and come back home, for holidays, in August. This month becomes the centre of their life, the period when most weddings take part, a time of abundance and parties. Some weddings have up to 2,000 guests. The bride’s outfit is extremely expensive and uses some traditional elements, but also modern reinterpretations.

You might wonder, why so much effort? It’s what keeps this community united, despite the fact that it is spread in many corners of Europe.”

anyway zukka is so fucking good it's about zuko feeling like his bending will never be good enough and then meeting this brilliant badass nonbender boy it's about sokka feeling underestimated/unseen and zuko seeing him as so talented and intelligent that he's literally irreplaceable it's about zuko seeing himself as irredeemable and sokka treating him like an equal

it's about both of them growing up lonely and finding company in each other it's about both of them being surprised by how easy it is to be around each other it's about sokka talking and zuko listening it's about zuko having trouble understanding people and sokka being endlessly patient and helpful

it's about both of them growing up with warrior fathers who expected them to be warriors and turning out to be softhearted diplomats

I have captured thousands of portraits all around the world, but Tsering Tsomo is the very first woman with two husbands that I have the chance to photograph. Nestled deep in the mountains of Northern India, in the Aryan Valley, lives one of the most captivating ethnic groups on the planet. Most refer to them as the Brokpas, but they prefer to be called Aryans. Their remarkable traditional attire, worn during festivals and celebrations, is unique in the world. What's even more intriguing is that within this community, both men and women sometimes have multiple spouses. Historically, this practice was primarily aimed at consolidating land. A group of brothers would marry the same woman to prevent land disputes and divisions. However, this custom has become increasingly rare, and Tsering Tsomo is one of the last women in the community who has two husbands. She is the mother of four children and has always felt fortunate about her beautiful family.
