im so sick of people answering the question they think im “really asking” instead of the one i actually fucking asked. if i ask “what time are we leaving?” i am not looking for “itll take 20 minutes to get there :)” or “it shouldnt be raining yet when we do!” i just want to know what. fucking. time. we are leaving. i dont even need a specific answer! fuckin like “between 5 and 5:30” would be better than nothing!
im just so fucking annoyed that everyone is constantly trying to read between the lines or find subtext where there ISNT ANY. ugh.

Trying to remind myself it's not morally wrong to be socially awkward. I carry a lot of guilt for feeling like I ruin or fail every interaction. But I'm not hurting anyone and respecting boundaries soooo if my existence makes anyone uncomfortable, that's honestly not my problem.

Me, 7 years old + ADHD: I will dive to the bottom of this pool to get the spiderman toy my brother threw in, and I will steal it from my Aunts house; I do not know why I love spiderman, but I do very much.
Me now, 23 + AuHD: My spiderman interest turned out to be a hyper-fixation that my friend has now brought back on accident and now I will not only give my soul to find that spiderman toy from when I was 7 once again; But I will also give my leg, arm and eyeballs to have merch of my favourite beans. Unfortunately, my favourites have either no merch or the worst merch - I love Electro, Scorpion and specifically Harry - I love Green Goblin too much all his merch is expensive as fuck and I am not prepared for debt

I'm AUHD and these are my two opposite personalities(this is a bit of generalisation and there are exeptions to this).
Me with people that I don't know well and/ or make me feel uncomfortable: Bubbly, chatty, sweet, talking a mile a minute, dynamic voice.
Me with people that I actually like: Can spend hours sitting in silence close to them, much more blunt, bitchy, cursing A LOT.

I dont think parents understand how easy it is for them to ruin your entire fucking day.
Like, I'll be thinking I got alot done, and I was really good a managing my executive dysfunction one day, then my mom comes home and nothing I did that day was even remotely good enough or I didn't do enough to meet her standards. I did my best and I thought I was doing better but being undermined like that just makes me not want to try at all.

As an autistic person with co-occurring ADHD, I’m really bothered by the way some parts of the autism community treat the ADHD community. Here is some of what I’m seeing:
People being hyper-vigilant about people talking over us to a point where they shut down people with ADHD talking about traits that they have in common with us: There is a big difference between noting a shared or similar experience and completely taking over a conversation.
Making comments about how people with inattentive ADHD “are really just autistic”, often followed by a comment about how the person in question or their doctor is “too ableist” to admit it: Yes, many people who are autistic and don’t have ADHD get mis-diagnosed with ADHD, and yes, many traits of the two disabilities look very similar, but you still have no place to make this judgment about a stranger in the internet. A person with what could be seen as autistic traits stating that they just have ADHD may very well just have ADHD. It is unlikely that they are trying to avoid being “lumped in with those autistic people” so much as they are giving accurate information about their disability.
Treating ADHD like it’s not a “real” disability: I see this outside of our community too, but it has definitely bled in and mixed with a “they aren’t really disabled, unlike me” attitude. ADHD is absolutely a disability. Yes, it would remain one even in a collectivist utopia without capitalism. Yes, it can make life difficult in really disabling ways. You are not the disability police, so turn in your badge and leave other people alone.
Telling AUHD people that the term AUHD is “offensive” because the acronym contains a D for “disorder”: If you don’t have Autism and ADHD, then you don’t get to police what we call ourselves. The D stands for the “disorder” in ADHD specifically, and it is mashed together with AU to make a short, snappy label. Until they come up with a new name for ADHD, the D is likely here to stay. No, we are not calling you “disordered” for being autistic. WE ARE AUTISTIC TOO.
