I want cuddly moonwater friendship. For Regulus is so “you touch me you die” and Remus is so “Ew your hands have a weird no-no touchy texture” but Regulus will randomly walk into the common room after getting a letter or after the moon or when he has period cramps and just flops down onto Remus and just snuggles in real close. And Remus whispers yes or no questions that no one can hear because he knows he doesn't want to talk but needs to know he's ok.

It started when after the moon a small black cat came and snuggled into remus’ chest and Remus fell asleep like that and then woke up with his crush’s brother holding his waist, but it's so comforting

Everyone is shocked when Regulus randomly walks into the gryff common room looking on the verge of tears. And even more so when Remus, who likes exactly zero touch, immediately opens his arms and closes his book.

James and Sirius eventually get to the point of being contact-safe for them and then it's sorta a cuddle party after the moons because it takes a toll on all 4 of them

i have one HC, that james and sirius had a huge fight over regulus, but not for the reason you think

So baiscally, regulus had autism and had meltdowns when it was too loud or there was too many emotions. And sirius would normally help him but when Sirius got kicked out they became distant. And one night regulus was having a meltdown and somehow made it to the griffindor dorms begging for his older brother but sirius just ignored him. So James helped regulus through it for an hour—hugging him giving him his headphones, calming him down. When reggie finally fell asleep after over an hour, James went and punched sirius so hard he broke his jaw and didn’t talk to him for two months

“Shhhh,” Regulus whispered loudly, “it’s a library, you have to be quiet.”

James, who had been trying to sneak up on him silently from behind, was taken aback. 

“I hadn’t even said anything!” he said quietly, “How did you even know I was here?”

Regulus looked up at James where he stood over him, and shook his head. 

“You, Sirius, and Lupin were so loud in the hallway outside I could hear you from here. Then when they left it was just the two of them, which meant you were coming in here.”

James grinned happily and sat down across from Regulus. 

“I don’t know whether to hate or to love how observant you are. It’s hard to surprise you.”

Regulus just watched him for a minute.

“It helped, I suppose.”

“How so?” James asked, trying his best to keep his voice down. 

“I was ready for you to show up,” Regulus said. “I don’t like surprises. It helps to know what’s coming.”

“Manage expectations,” James said thoughtfully, “you’ve said that before. That helps you?”

Regulus nodded. 

“Okay,” James replied, “I’ll try to always be loud then, all for you.”

Regulus rolled his eyes, but there was a faint blush to his cheeks as he did so.

James didn’t know what he’d done to deserve Regulus, but he was so, so happy to have earned his trust.

I see so much autistic Regulus in ffs but it's always used as a quirky character trait and never really as a disorder with actual consequences. Yes to stimming, but also yes to meltdowns. Yes to apathy, but also yes to sensory hypersensitivity. Yes to special interests, but also yes to crying at every single inconvenience. Yes to rambling, but also yes to processing issues. Yes to difficult communication, but also yes to constant and uninterrupted speaking to himself when he's alone. Yes to saying he's autistic, but also yes to showing it.

regulus was always finicky with his cloths. everything was wither too tight or scratchy sometimes too loose to the point he felt like he was drowning. he learned how to deal with it for a while but he never was very comfortable, other then the maybe 5 peace's of clothing that felt safe.

That was until one day Reg received a package from a Euphemia potter that was perfect. it wasn't to scratchy and was loose in the right places. regulus wore that sweater every day.

the other safe peace of clothing he was particularly find of was a jumper he found in his brothers room that he had no idea belonged to remus lupin.

they are at completely diffrent ends of autism and it just makes a mess of everything

reg loves to follow rules and doesnt understand when someone doesnt so he follows his family into everything because his morals cant go against the rules

sirius doesnt follow rules if he doesnt understand why they are there and likes to do as he pleases so he doesnt do anything like his family and after a while it turns into masking everything with the "rebell run-away kid" role he puts on himself and he doesnt see when he goes too far
