First, you gave his sequel to the antagonist while reducing Stephen to being lovesick rather than the strong freaking TITULAR character of his own supposed movie.

Then you completely reverse his character development from What If...? Season 1, turning him into exactly what MoM Reed Richards told 616 Stephen that he was.

It appears the only correct treatment & love and FREAKING ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF STEPHEN AS THE TRUE HERO THAT SUFFERED 1,500+ YEARS MISERY IN ORDER TO RESTORE THE 616 UNIVERSE IS GOING TO COME FROM...

I had a few issues with Endgame

In the wake of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 I watched all of the media involving the Guardians. This included Avengers: Endgame. This reminded me of the issues I had with the movie. (Leaving out the time travel stuff cause I’m not a big fan of time travel in movies)

First and foremost, the handling of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Their story up to that point had been about learning to open up and let people in. To be a family. Rocket lost every single member of that family. Nebula’s sister was murdered by their abuser. We got a single scene that conveyed their loss. Don’t get me wrong I liked this scene, but considering how much time we devoted to Tony Stark’s MANPAIN, I would have liked a little more that a scene that fits into a 7 second GIF.

The bigger issue was not giving them a proper reunion scene. They’re a family and they had been separated for 5 years. I think we deserved a little more. Especially since they took the time to do the Tony Stark & Peter Parker reunion.

But the BIGGEST issue was the handling of Thor’s entire arch. Thor failed to kill Thanos because he was consumed by vengeance, he WANTED Thanos to know who killed him which gave Thanos the time to snap his fingers and dust half the Universe. They took this man who lost his entire family, his home, most of his people, who failed to stop the “Blip” from happening out of his desire for revenge and you turned him and his alcoholism and depression into an in poor taste fat joke. 

This juxtaposed with the sincerity of how they treated Peter’s alcoholism and depression in Vol. 3 and it just makes me more disappointed. The Guardians showed concern for Peter, the Avengers mocked Thor.

Bonus nitpicks:

Rocket is smarter than Tony Stark. Plenty of comic evidence for this. Wanted to see Rocket dunk on him a bit.

Natasha deserved better. We got a whole funeral for Tony but nothing for Natasha in the film. So glad Ms. Marvel at least showed us that the general public know of the sacrifice she made for the world.

Don't know if someone else already wrote about this...but...

Really?  And people are still okay with Steve leaving, with the end of Endgame.  This makes what Steve did, so much worse…. I know it’s not Steve’s responsibility to heal Bucky or to be part of his therapy but that piece right there, says everything.

“You’re alone”

Thanks for reminding him.  He is alone…. His family is dead, his friend left him, and he has no one.  Everyone still sees him as the Soviet Assassin, as the unstable man who killed people in cold blood.  The killer.  No one sees the Brooklyn boy who followed the scrawny blonde.  No one sees the man that was drafted, which was called into a war he didn’t want to do in the first place.  No one sees the broken man, the man desperate for some kind of peace.  The only person, the only link he had was Steve and he decided to leave him, in a time, the world was still in turmoil, the world was stilly trying to pick up the broken pieces.

“You're a hundred years old.”

He is not only the man out of time, but the man who is trying to figure out who he is.  To come to terms with what he has done, what he was made to do.

"You have no history."

He has, he had.  He was a man who took care of his family, who took care of Steve, a man who was drafted.  He was a good soldier who took care of his men before Steve showed up.  He was a man, tied to a table in Azzano, experimented on and turned into something, and someone he had no control over.  He had a history that wasn’t fighting and murder. 

He also has the history of the Winter Soldier. It’s not a history he wanted or would have chosen. It was one that was forced upon him. 

He has a history, but he didn’t choose it. 

Then from what we know, this happened a few weeks after Endgame.  He made no attempt to contact anyone, and no one attempted to contact him, except Sam.  He has 10 numbers… one is Same, one is the doctor.  That leaves 8.  Who is that 8?  Is one of them Steve?  Did no one tried to contact him?  Not even Steve?  He didn’t even try to contact Steve!  He ignores Sam….

Eugh… I hate this scene.
