Everyone, I humbly ask for prayers for my newborn nephew! He has caught RSV and is in the hospital in the NICU. My nephew and niece are staying with us because the hospital won't let them stay and my sister is at baby Cody's (HE HAS A NEW NAME!!!!!) cribside. I realize that we are strangers, but I hope you will join me in vigil. God Bless you all. UBI.
My nephew's been here for less than 24 hours and he already found his Christmas present. I got him a big dump truck and hid it in my bedroom closet but my sister never stops him from rummaging through my stuff, and when he found it she just up and told him "oh yeah, that's for you," and now he's playing with it and doesn't want to give it up for a month. He's gonna throw a hissy fit when he has to go home without it, and what's probably gonna happen is my mom is gonna insist that I let him take it as a Thanksgiving gift and buy him something else for Christmas.
my brother and his wife moved to new mexico ;ast year and i havent seen em in ages plus they have a son that i havent met yet and i want to so ducking bad

Dick paused almost mid-jump, having apparently turned to the wrong channel but also changed to the perfect one too. At least, perfect in the fact that he had just overheard an interesting thing from Jason, apparently forgetting that his comm was in fact on still.
Damian must have answered, because Jason snorted a laugh. “You can try getting him to leave, he’s taken over my bathtub and keeps eating all my food.”
Hold up, was- Dick had thought Jason was talking about a plush or something, but was he talking about a literal living animal seal??
“I’ll have you know I’m not going to make a poor little baby seal leave, and I’m not putting him in a zoo, brat.”
Oh Gotham, it was a real living animal seal. Dick about faced, rushing towards Jason’s safehouse. How did he get a seal? Why was it in his bathtub?? Why hadn’t he called the proper people for this sort of thing?! He had to get to the safehouse now to see this shit.
i LOVE the idea of satoru's child just babbling nonsense and satoru going along with it LMAO
omg yes, walking in with the laundry basket and you hear babbling — not an unusual noise — but it isn’t your kid, it’s your husband.
“uh huh, bababa nanana,” satoru is nodding along, “I know I can’t believe mama did that,”
“Babababa! Wawawa, ah!” Your kid is pouting, looking up Satoru, as he nods even more emphatically, spouting more gibberish.
You chuckle, and it catches his attention, “what’s so funny sweetheart?” His lips curling in a small smile, “ever seen two intellectuals have a conversation?”
“More like two conspiracists sounding their complaints,” you walk over, sitting next to satoru, “isn’t that right, baby?” And your baby lights up, holding out arms for you to take them into your lap, “looks like you lost your partner, what to do?” You grin.
Satoru pouts before smiling slowly at you, pressing a kiss to your forehead, “good thing I have my favorite partner right here — and you put up with all my nonsense,” and he kisses your lips, flashing his wedding band, “it’s required.”
I started doing these back in 2020 and then just stopped, because consistency is just not my thing, but I figured, no reason to just start again, right?
A few years ago I had this daily calendar where I had to was invited to write something good that happened to me, every day. At the time I wasn't doing very well. One day, when I was in the blackest deep of my depression, I wrote down "toast with peanut butter" because that's what I had for lunch that day and it had made an impression apparently. And I distinctly remember writing that down, because it was the only good thing that I could find. So I'm glad that I was prompted on that day to find the good thing. I could have ended that day thinking nothing good had happened.
I have kept all those little notes and now, many years later, I can go back and read them.
So I figured I'd start again. And it's not going to be consistent, because I simply am not when it comes to habits (I used to do a few days or a whole week of "good things" in one night, back in the day when I had that 'daily' calendar, thank the Maker I have a good memory), but we'll see how it goes.
So, here's my good thing for today, 23 June 2022
This morning, I met up with Oldest Sister and my nephew (he's 14 months) and all we did was some shopping and playing with water, but it was so good to see his little baby face again and hear his cute laughter at the water fountain + it meant getting up early, which isn't an easy thing for me!
What was your good thing for today?
PS: Here's my good thing for 23 June 2018:
"Moved back to Belgium. Watched The Imitation Game in the car - very good. Maths = <3"
I didn't even know today was 4 years back in Belgium!
