Turtleverse Crossover Lore 1

So you know in Spider verse they all end up in Miles' universe?

The turtles don't do that...

No they appear in a giant space that quickly turn into woods since they all are comfortable there.

Not all turtles show up here, just some. A total of 20 turtles, 11 humans, and five rat dads...and one goat dad.

They're all confused at first but soon introduce themselves.

Rise!Raph is the only one not interested in interacting and decides to look around.

Missing everyone's reaction to his universe being the youngest there.

Though one other Splinter noticed him separate and followed, catching other Splinters attention.

Everyone gets along fairly well despite being different (Rise Crew) and a few disagreements were fixed before escalating.

87 and 03 being the two older groups immediately adopted the others.

Bay and 12 being older than the Rise group takes them under their wing.

Rise being the funky little gremlin bastards they are cause chaos that you would expect from your favorite younger sibling/cousin.

I want to say they have a giant mansion where they stay together but nope, they all have personal cabins in the forest.

Sometimes the Rise crew feel left out when their older counterparts decide to hang out with each other instead and shoo them away.

Look they love Rise Crew but the turtles feel a bit off put by them sometimes, they do feel guilty when they see their faces drop in disappointment (Donnie, Mikey) or acceptance (Leo, Raph).

Rise and 87 Jones knows where all the secrets and stuff are in the unending forest. Sometimes a Splinter joins them but mostly Grandpa Jones.

Red usually goes off on his own more, sometimes dragging Purple with him, they later find out about a beautiful waterfall that the two soak in silence in.

Honestly good for them, they all need a break.

Out of cursiosity, which tmnt media you watched? Like which movies, and which tv shows? I know you watched 2003, 2012 and Rise but like what about 1987? Or 90's movies?

I started with the 87 series actually! My babysitter would bring episodes over on VHS and watch them with us. (she also got me into Pokémon-she's probably the entire reason I'm a nerd today) I never really finished 2003, it ended in-what, 2009? Yeah, I was entering high school then and at that age you're really critical of media you've aged out of. (plus Avatar came out in 2005 so I kind of switched hyperfixations around them) By the time 2012 came out I'd stopped giving a shit, and you all know the deal with Rise. I did not watch The Next Mutation, and from everything I've read that was a good decision.

I did watch the 90's movies, but a loooooong time ago. I don't really remember the plotlines, just a few snippets of scenes. (kind of the same deal with the 87 series, honestly) 2007 was great-animation is dated, but it was great animation for 2007. I saw the Bay movies and honestly don't remember that much about them. They had their moments (Donnie jumping out of a plane is so incredibly on brand) but they were not very good. Still haven't seen Mutant Mayhem.

Let's see, what other media was there...haven't read any of the comics, other than what I've read in Tumblr posts. We had a TMNT game for the PlayStation 2. My mom would frequently get mad because my dad would let us stay up late to play it. (he loved the ninja turtles, I think my babysitter hooked him on it too)

Summary: 

Takes place in the ‘87 Universe in 1997, 6yrs after the show is finished (may be inaccurate to canon! Haven’t finished ‘87 yet). Both the Rise boys and ‘12 Boys come from 2009 in their respective universes. The Rise and ‘12 Kids are together for about a week b4 they are found by the ‘87’ Turtles, that week actually being spent in the 2012 universe. Lil Donnie was nearly finished on a device to communicate with Rise Splinter, before he and the rest of the kids ended up in the 1987 world. ‘12 Splinter gets it to work and keeps in contact with Rise Splinter, they’re worried sick but seen as the Rise boys where sent straight to ‘12 Splinter they are hoping that something similar happened with both of their kids. I want them to not know what’s going on at first but I also don’t want this au to be too angsty, hence the Splinters being able to communicate pretty much straight away. 1 1/2 months in The Donnie’s have found a way to commincate with the other Splinters! though they can’t send the kids back until some science-y thing is stable, which will be in 2 months. The whole thing lasts about 3 1/2 months. I think the 2012 Kraang will be responsible, which is why little 12yr old Donnie could make a communication device to the rise universe so quickly but 1987 Donnie couldn’t.

Raph is Kiya’s favorite ninja turtle because he’s red and has green eyes like her daddy and Leo is her second favorite because he’s blue like her babysitter’s brother.

Lulani is a Donnie fan because he reminds her of her dad and Mikey is her second favorite because he reminds her of what her dad describes her papa as. She hasn’t met him and neither has Kiya.

Kiya’s babysitter is one of Caboose’s sisters. She has picked up the phrase “Stupid Tucker” from him.

She describes her thoughts of this as “It’s something mean and it’s used to as a bad word.” And Simmons says, “If you’re going to curse someone out or say bad words at least do it strategically to give it meaning and impact.”

Simmons favorite tmnt characters are Splinter, April, Dr. Stockman.

Simmons watches the 2003 version. (All favorites from 2003)

Lulani watches the 2018 version. (18 Donnie, 03 Mikey)

Kiya watches the 2012 version. (Both favorites from 2012)

They all agree that marathoning very iteration should be a Tuesdays thing. Weekends are for outdoor activities.

Kiya is at summer camps every year because there are many subjects she likes but hasn’t found her true interest yet.

Lulani wants to be a marine historian and biologist.

Kiya got her plush from her bio mom before she was adopted. So no matter what, she’s keeping it with her even if it ends up in stitches sometimes.

Simmons was honest to Lulani about her grandfather and how he met her papa. He often tells her about him and what he’s doing when he realized her papa was his coworker.

She wants to meet him, but knows he’s never told papa about her. Too much time had passed and things were complicated.

Kiya just wants to size him up to see if he’s up to her standards. Lulani already made up her mind to distance herself from him.

She’s still mad at her grandmother for reasons.

Kiya has a rivalry with one of her teachers somehow. (One sided as Kiya had been scorned and she will never forget or forgive this transgression!)

Lulani has been taking boxing for two months and is doing really well.

Ages? Still deciding. Simmons is in his thirties when Lulani is a teen and Kiya is around 5-8 years old.

Simmons was 27 is when Lulani was about 10.

Simmons had Kiya for about… from either 3 months to five years, I can’t decide.

Let’s see… hm…. He frist meets Kiya when he’s 27, but doesn’t adopt her until two - three years later?

He becomes friends with Kiya’s mother and when things happen, she trusts him to protect Kiya. She did a dxmn good job raising her until then.

Kiya’s babysitter has told her things to make sure her dad doesn’t focus on work all the time. Things that would make his heart “hurty” as a form of revenge and warning. She doesn’t really get it, but he makes the funny squeaks of fear when she says them.

My tmnt fangirl story: my first memory of tmnt was watching the 1990s movie on vhs tape all the time as a kid and stealing one of my brothers tmnt toys to play tea party with. Ever since I was little I always loved turtles. So I'd watch the tmnt 1990 movie all the time. I was born 1996, so I never really saw the original 80s cartoon, except on another vhs tape that had the first few episodes. Growing up i remember vaguely seeing the 2003 cartoon on 4kids on weekends and remember watching the 2007 movie once and loving it. But I never became a full fangirl till the tmnt 2012 cartoon. And I was hit with full on love for all things turtles. Watch all the tmnt 2012 episodes that came on tv whenever it was on. Got tmnt merc, got all the tmnt movies I could get on dvd. Watch them all the time. Tmnt 2012 was my everything and I loved it. Leo is my favorite turtle. Mikey is my second. I love all the turtles, but Donnie and Raph would have to be my least favorite. Leo just has a special place in my heart. I relate to a lot of his issues. Being the oldest and not a lot of people appreciating you for it. How hes not everyone's favorite makes me love him more. I also relate a lot to mikey, with his adhd and everyone thinking he's stupid when hes not. Also can relate how Leo gets angry, and how all he wants to do is protect his family and make his parent proud of him. In general I love all the turtles and how other and outsiders they feel. And how they always have each other. I wish i had something like that. A bond like that. I have siblings but they just mostly make me feel like a mean babysitter, and idiot, or a kiss asss to my mom. Plus having adhd, autism and ocd doesn't help. So loving the turtles help. Plus the cartoon and animation is amazing. I love the humor and the darkness in the tmnt 2012 version. I've seen the rottmnt movie and love it, and I'm watching the cartoon. I like it, but I feel like its over hyped and the movie is so much better. Does the rottmnt cartoon get better? And thats it, that's my tmnt fangirl story. Sorry that its so long.

That's a beautiful story. I love that any version of this franchise stokes a fire in peoples hearts for the rest of it. Especially when we can turn around and explore the nuances.

Recent iterations of TMNT (2012, Rise, Mutant Mayhem) have emphasized the "teenager" aspect and tried to make them "act more like teenagers, and that can be neat and fun, but I think there's also interesting potential in Turtles not "acting like teenagers"

Do they look like teenagers? Can people tell? (Would they be able to tell if there was an adult mutant turtle to compare to?)

What do April and other people think about their age and how they act? Does she know they are teenagers from the start? Or does she think they are adults until someone says something that makes her think "wait a minute"?

The guys guys who saved her life from deadly robots are 15. They wield deadly weapons in deadly battles. They act so mature, they don't act like teenagers. But they are. Does she think about how she and other people she knows used to be at that way and feel sad that they don't get to be like that? Does she try to encourage them to act like the age they truely are? (Sometimes, when it's safe)

What was their Splinter like? Did he prioritize revenge and his old life/family over his new family? Did he raise them as tools for his own revenge? Or did he try his best to raise them safe and well in the circumstances they were given? What was his life like before, would he even know what is normal for children?

How would April feel about Splinter? Would she be angry at him for how his sons had to grow up too fast? Would she be angry at first, only to realize that he did the best he could and that they never really had a chance to mature slower? Some say it takes a village to raise a child and they never had a village. Splinter was one single adult with 4 children and not even a single babysitter. An Splinter is usually not particularly young either.

Okay, so, first of all, this was inspired by a dream about TMNT 2012 which was my growing up TMNT, second, I do not speak english. Offenses taken, let's go.

I present to you the fantabulous tales of THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA (BABYSITTER) TURTLES (TMN(B)T).

It all started in just another night after all the... Kraang stuff, it’s final. It was during a patrol of routine. Silent streets, fulfilled in the remaining terror of the Kraang era, of the Foot’s attacks, of all the mutant new stuff. A ghost of the city NY used to be.

In the middle of the obscure night, when all the lights went off as no one dared to look outside, they heard yelling. Idishtingible from the distance, and yet, a clear mugging among a desperate criminal and a citizen who keep their fighting spirit. They rushed as the situation didn’t seem to have a good ending.

They were able to leave the mugger unconscious, and a mix of relief and anxiety invaded them as they saw the gun they held and the citizen who had a kid, completely hidden by a hoodie, in their arms. What could have been, how could it end, the situation itself didn’t present a happy ending. 

And then, the eyes. The person was looking at them, staring at them like they were considering all their options. And then, they nodded.

“Yup, you should be just fine” The person said as they accommodated the kid while she kept looking at them, “Her name is Candace, she is not very verbal but she knows how to make herself clear just fine, she likes physical touch and being held but no kisses or touching her paws.” What? What was happening???

“What?” Raph murmured the thought they all had, but he was completely ignored.

 “She’s very curious too and doesn’t have self preservation, so be very careful. I’ll be back in 3 hours since this was an emergency shift. Thank you very much” The person said as she held the kid by her armpits in front of Leo, who extended his own arms as a reflection. “Be good, baby, but don’t be afraid to bite and fight if you think you are in danger. I love you and I’ll be back soon enough, ok?” The kid just nodded, the citizen just nodded back with a smile as they left her carefully in the turtle’s hands, she felt a little too soft for just having a hoodie. “Good, love you baby”

“Lov’ too” The little girl muttered back. The person just smiled brighter before turning their head back to the turtles.

“I’m so sorry for this but I had no time and- I know you’ll treat her just fine, you look like really nice guys and- I- Thank you very much again” And then, she runned before they could process the entire situation.

They- They really didn’t understand it at all, they are mutants in a era of being afraid of all the no-human things. Why would she trust in them? It can’t be just because they save them, people usually run. Why then, why?

The silence fulfilled the alley, until a soft voice broke it.

“S’rry, big sis rush” She said,  tilting her head towards her sister’s direction.

And their attention was all in the little girl in Leo’s arms, looking at her as she just turned her head to face them. And then, one of them (Probably Mikey),  gently removed the hood, revealing her face.

And they suddenly were able to understand why she reacted so calmly to them, why she trusted them for just helping.

“Mmh?” She stares at them without moving anything but her ears, in a dog-like attitude, something just appropriate for a dog-like mutant child.
