I had forgotten to water my plants during the day and my kitty decided to come help out. She hasn’t been feeling well lately and usually hangs out in only one room in the house these days so I was happily surprised when she came to say hi 🥰

November 2022: Resting Plot & The Moon
Plot 420 is pretty much at rest now. We did a little clean up today & dug up three volunteer collard green seedlings for transplanting back at the house. We have plans to come out over the Fall & Winter to collect okra pods once they’ve dried for seed collecting, amend the soil & do other maintenance. One idea my queen got from this YouTube video by MIgardener was to collect discarded pumpkins & bury them as a soil amendment. Most of the folks in our neighborhood left their pumpkins whole rather than using them as jack-o-lanterns so we probably won’t be able to collect any until after Thanksgiving when they put them on the curb. Hopefully, we’ll be able to collect a few straw bales too:
Even at rest, there is still plenty of life at Plot 420:
If you’re new to gardening & see mushrooms pop up, don’t panic. It is a good sign that your soil has good organic material. The mushrooms are just helping to breakdown so it is accessible to your plants & they will eventually die, breakdown & enrich your soil as well:

Bachelor Buttons
A patch of Bachelor Buttons in the Gardens by the Bay.
Taken up close by Nell, the depth-of-field from the apsc sensor was rather limited even at an aperture of f/6.3.
