i think no other shounen truly encapsulates the concept of 'making the male characters come across as gay because they refuse to develop women in any capacity' better than death note. there are many strong contenders out there, i know, but i thinkg nothing can beat the misogyny in any work made by the guy who also wrote this

Please have there be a Kira that uses the Death Note to create gay sleeper agents and see how all of the homophobic characters react

Understandably anyone would be horrified at the prospect of that happening irrespective of their views on love & sexuality but in a Tsugumi Ohba universe the inherent homophobia of all of the characters is ramped up to the max and I feel like it's a premise he'd only write with a gun pointed to his head lol

He gives off such cranky old boomer conservative uncle vibes through some of the self-insert tangents in his characters' dialogue. Platinum End and Bakuman are certainly... something.
