While “talking sense into you” certainly did not include caressing and making love to you in front of the full-length mirror in your bedroom, it did empower you to gain enough confidence to pack some of your more fashionable clothes for your impromptu trip.  

“Aren’t you going to miss me?” you pout at Charles. “It’s almost like you want me to leave.” You feign hurt, making your boyfriend frantically grasp for comforting words.  

“No, baby, it’s not like that– I just...” 

You laugh, placing a hand on his chest and pushing up on your toes to peck his cheek. “I’m just joking, Herve. Relax.”

Of course, Charles takes the liberty of dropping you off at the airport, where an overexcited, jittery Kika is waiting for you.  

"Okay, we need to have some ground rules.” 

“What do you meaaaan? I’m going on a trip to have fun. There’s no ‘rules’ in ‘fun’!” 

However, your boyfriend is super serious when he cuts you off. “No staying out too late, no getting too drunk without Francisca around, no taking things from strangers, no forgetting to video call me every night, and no not having fun,"  he finishes counting off his fingers.  

“Okay, dad” 

“One more snippy comment, and I’ll show you how brats get treated.”

 "Byeeee,"  you wave and blow a kiss to your boyfriend, who’s standing at the gate, arms grossed, shades on, and looking like the epitome of rich, golf dad. Or maybe Daddy. Definitely looking like a rich Daddy. But like, a rich, racecar driver kind. That you already bagged. You smile to yourself at that.

The flight was alright, but you were in first-class with Kika, which meant you were asked to join her when she filmed the entire time; the food and reviews, drinks, shows, getting un-ready, and getting ready before landing. Obviously, you’d never done any of those things on a plane before, too worried about the looks you’d get from the other passengers. But having someone else do it with you definitely took away a lot of the anxiety, and you had lots of fun doing the skincare with your friend.  

“Wow. This is what people come to see when they visit Bali?” you ask, blown away by the beautiful sights.  

You’re led away by Kika until the two of you reach a top-tier hotel, where you’re checked into a single room. Ooooh, like sleepover, your inner child giggled.  

Then the next few days, you go through the motions, following Kika’s instructions and getting thoroughly surprised when an extra care package is sent to the hotel– for you. You read the little note inside.

“Dear Y/n, 

We are honored that you have decided to join us on this trip and would like to announce that we’d like you to become an ambassador for our humble company. An established young woman and talented artist like you is bound to make an impact on the world, and we’d simply like to be a part of the journey.

[A company that you’d like to collaborate with’s name]”

As Kika reads the note over your shoulder, she embraces you out of sheer excitement. “Oh my god! They want you to be an ambassador?!?!? That’s such a cool opportunity! They only asked me to try on and recommend their products, but if they asked you to be an ambassador, that means they either really like the content you filmed with me or you're famous.” She looks at you suspiciously. “Are you famous?”

You let out a nervous laugh. “Uhm, a little bit? Do you… not know what I do for work?”

“Girl, you’re famous, and you didn’t tell me?!?”

“Okay, I think you’re getting a little ahead of yourself here… I’m not that famous. Just within the industry, but it’s not like the world knows me.”“Well, now they will,"  a cunning smile creeps onto her beautiful face. “Come, let me see what you brought. We need to dress you in the most stylish clothes possible. And then send pictures to your darling boyfriend to drool over.”
