Two-Tier Lucite Glass Coffee Table

This large, two-tiered coffee table is composed of two square panes of bevelled reinforced glass, gently curved at the corners. These are held in place by four ornate lucite columns, with a brass disc screw at the top to complete the piece. The table originated in the USA, and is an excellent example of 1970s American minimalism but still elegant and timeless that is almost invisible. It would look amazing in any interior either modern or vintage and with its ample surface you can decorate it with coffee books and other decorative items to make it feel cozy.

There are some small scratches in the lucite, as is to be expected with a piece this age. The glass is in good condition but may contain the odd mark. The table dismantles into two pieces of glass and the for legs which in their turn are divided and accommodate the glass.

I'm delighted to share that as the Society of All Artists/ The SAA celebrates it's 30th anniversary, my watercolour painting of The Hive at 52 in Weaverham, Cheshire has been featured in the Society's quarterly magazine!

I'm really chuffed about the editorial team's very kind comments: "We love... the perspective and the detail on this. The rhododendrons in the foreground, giving way giving way to the snatched glimpse of the house works very nicely."

And I'm thrilled that this is the third quarter in a row that my work has been honoured by being printed in the Society's magazine! The SAA has recently changed ownership and I can see some editorial changes to the magazine being planned in already. I'm not sure whether there'll be a Members' Gallery in future editions, so I'm so glad I took the opportunity to try and have my work featured in "Paint & Create" when I did!

As a full time artist/creative who followed a finance career for the first three decades of my working life, these opportunities to establish the worth and credibility of my art are priceless!

I'm very grateful to Sue France of Sue France,Creative Connecting in Cheshire, Christian and Michelle Ewen of Write on Time Ltd, Kat Jane Massey the Visibility Queen Academy Membership for Women and last but no means least, Gavriella Abekassis Learn How to Sell Your Art Online, for encouraging me to show my art and build it's visibility.

After surviving blood cancer and it's treatment, I've come to realise that the attempt to create and communicate visual beauty is something I want to spend my remaining time chasing. And each magazine or other press feature is a small but very significant victory along the way!

And I'm hoping our lovely neighbours, who own and run the Hive at 52 with loving care and attention to detail, will be pleased with this too! Hang onto that painting - one day it may be worth something!

I gotta say I'm impressed with their dedication lmao after the schedule disaster of last year I didn't think they would be able to handle this one on time but they're going for it. like this might actually air this year. I'm proud lmao.

I'm so excited to see all these characters again and I also like that it's not just 1 episodes but 2-4 per couple which gives them a lot more room to tell & wrap up the stories. I still don't know how they're gonna air this since it's gonna be around 30 episodes lmao but we shall see. so excited either way 🥺

Gianluigi Gorgoni Display Unit, 1970s

This Gianluigi Gorgoni briar burl wood display cabinet from the 1970s, made for Fratelli Turi, is an exceptional and unique piece of furniture. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this cabinet showcases the artistic vision and craftsmanship of its designer.

The cabinet is divided horizontally into four layers and vertically into three sections. The two end vertical units serve as standalone cabinets. At the bottom of each end unit, there is a spacious cabinet that provides ample storage space. Above the cabinet, a smoked glass display cabinet allows for showcasing prized possessions. Additional shelving on top of the smoked glass display cabinet provides extra display area.

The center vertical unit flank a chest of drawers, adding a functional storage element to the cabinet. On top of the chest of drawers, there is a shelving and display area providing versatile storage options.

Supporting and dividing the three parts of the cabinet is a japonisme teak grid frame, adding a touch of natural beauty and durability. The frame features specially made 24k gold-plated hinges to fit on the grid frame, emphasizing the attention to detail and luxury of the piece. These gold-plated hinges not only offer structural support but also add a touch of opulence to the cabinet.

Throughout the design, the handles, lines, and details of the cabinet are distinctively characteristic of Gianluigi Gorgoni, as evidenced by documented advertisements from the 1970s. The designer's unique style shines through, showcasing a harmonious blend of form and function.

It is worth noting that this cabinet was exclusively made for the owners, making it truly one of a kind. This cabinet imported to UK from Greece where its been since its first owners imported it from Italy. Big dining table and mirror also available.
