We are proud to announce the Marauders Monster Mash! 

What is the monster mash?

A fest for Marauders fans who love the ‘unlovable’ to come and write the characters they enjoy doing the same.

How does this fest work?

You can choose to write any pairing from the Marauders era, then choose one (or both) of them to be a monster! Completed fics will be added to the fest collection on Ao3 to be revealed once the deadline has been reached. 

What is the timeline?

Sign ups: April 14th- April 27th

Monster approval: May 12th

Posting day: June 30th

All deadlines will close at midnight PST

What are the rules

Who can participate?

You must be 18 or older, have access to Discord, and have at least one fic posted to ao3.

Reveals Day 1

Hello, everyone! We are so excited for day 1 of reveals! We are so proud of all of the hard work that the Fest participants have put in! We will be revealing new works each weekday for the next two weeks!

Everyone loves Mary. It’s a fact, anyone who meets her loves her, and the only people who didn’t clearly had issues. So it’s no surprise that Lily’s one of the many. Mary’s just got that gravitational pull, she's impossible to stay away from. It might be a new year, a new party but it’s just the same. Someone asks Mary out, she kindly rejects them, the world keeps spinning. So Lily’s not going to ruing their friendship over something unrequited. She’s not going to sit there and die inside every time someone dances with Mary. She’s not going to do anything. Until she gets really drunk… Mary doesn’t like her back, she can’t, can she?

“No, it’s not!” Sirius almost yelled, eyes widening at the way Regulus immediately pulled away to shield himself. He felt as though someone had plunged a knife into him, seeing his younger brother scared and curling in on himself with his eyes squeezed shut – scared of him.

Hey guys! Work for the fest is now due! If you are part of the fest and haven't submitted your work, please contact the mods to give us an update! We're more than happy to give you an extension!

Reveals begin on September 2nd! AHHH!

Another reminder of our rules and guidelines:

Rules and Requirements

You must be 15 by the end of sign-ups (July 19th) to participate.

At the time of sign-up, you must declare if you are writing a fic, creating an art piece, or both. You may change your mind later, if you want.

At the time of sign-up, you must pick one Conan song to be your inspiration for your work by declaring it in your sign-up form. The song does not have to be quoted or referenced in your work, it can just be an influence somehow. More than one person can use the same song.

All works must have at least one Marauders-Era character included, to fit the theme. Ships are not required- you can do a platonic fic, a fic about family members, whatever you'd like!

If you are writing a fic, it must have a minimum of 1k words. If it is a multi-chaptered work, at least the first chapter must be finished by the due date.

If you are above 18, you are more than welcome to write/draw NSFW/dead dove content. However, please take the time to tag your work appropriately, so we can protect everyone viewing the work.

Works must be posted by August 26th to the Fest collection. This will give mods time to review the works before we reveal.

You are more than welcome to do more than one work! If you already know you want to, please complete a sign-up form for each work you'd like to do.

Posting info

Remember that your fic and/or art is due by August 26th.

When you are ready to submit your work, you must do so by posting on ao3 under the (now open) Conan Gray Marauders Fest Collection found here: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/conan_gray_marauders_fest . To do so, click the button in the collection that says "Post to Collection." From there, post your work as you normally would. (If you have never posted a work on ao3 before or have never posted a work for a fest, see the how-to video posted on our Discord)

You MUST tag your work appropriately. Please put any and all TWs in your tags. When you post, your work will be unrevealed, so a Mod can look it over and make sure it is tagged appropriately. If you don't hear from us, assume that you tagged correctly! We will reveal on a schedule, staring a week after submissions are due.

When you submit your work, please use the tag "Conan Gray Marauders Fest" in your tags.

When you submit, please also OPEN A HELP TICKET in discord with the mods and let us know you submitted, so we can mark you off as having submitted your work. If you are doing multiple works, do this each time you submit. If you are having trouble with discord, please send us an ask!

You may also post your work on Tumblr or another site. However, we ask that you wait to post until your work is revealed for the fest. When/if you do post, please @ the fest tumblr and again use the tag.

We have been doing our best to answer the questions asked in the sign-up form, but if we've missed anything or you are still unclear, please open a help ticket on discord.
