Chapter 2: A Phone Call from Jail
(I think I deleted the dang post so I'm reposting it) Last time on Batfamily Chronicles: Jason Todd dealt with his brother's bully coworker as any awesome sibling would. Kylar did not keep his promise to stay away from Tim Drake or stop bullying him. Tim Drake, who works for Wayne Tower and is related to Bruce Wayne, had already seen his older brother beat the snot out of Kylar. But hey, why not continue to poke that bear? And that he did, resulting in a confrontation with both Jason Todd and Dick Grayson—a bad combination for him, but an awesome combo for defending Tim.
We continue now with the story:
The dim light of the study in Wayne Manor cast long shadows across the room as Bruce Wayne stood alone, staring out the window. He was heading out for his daily night as Batman, but he wanted a quiet moment before donning the bat suit. The tranquility of the evening was shattered by the harsh ringing, pulling him from his thoughts.
“And just like that… the moment is ruined,” Bruce said, furrowing his eyebrows annoyed. With a sense of foreboding, he answered.
“This is Gotham City Jail. You have a collect call from—” the automated voice droned through the speaker, a mechanical indifference that sent a chill down Bruce's spine.
“Um, Jason Todd,” a familiar voice cut in, laced with guilt, something Bruce hadn’t heard in Jason’s voice in the last decade and a half. Making him question if this was his son.
“Do you accept the charges?” the automated voice continued.
Bruce frowned, confusion thick in the air. “Do I accept the charges? What the hell?”
“Say yes!” Jason’s voice insisted, tinged with annoyance.
Bruce looked at the phone, taken aback, but rolled his eyes. It was his son on the other end of the line. After a moment’s hesitation, Bruce said, “Yes I accept the charges.”
“Hey Bruce… um, loving father,” Jason said, his voice lacking its usual bravado, tinged with embarrassment. “So, funny story… me and Dick kind of ended up in jail. Can you, uh... come get us and bring... bail money?”
Bruce’s mind raced, the initial confusion giving way to concern. “Why do you need me to pick you up from jail? How did you both get arrested? Are you in your suits?”
“We're not in our suits, you dumbass!” Jason shot back, clearly irritated.
Bruce pulled the phone away, offended, the corners of his mouth twitching in disbelief. “A simple no would have sufficed. Okay, explain what happened before I drive down there.”
There was a short pause, and Bruce could practically hear Jason’s internal debate. Finally, he sighed. “Well... long story short, Tim was dealing with this asshole homophobe at work. I dealt with him… for the sake of this recorded call, just know I ‘talked’ to him. He left Tim alone for a few days, but then he stormed up to us while we were out at lunch. The guy was calling him a bunch of awful names— saying his reputation was ruined at work– A lot of words even I wouldn’t say—and then he said Tim was a... bundle of sticks.”
Before Bruce could respond, the phone was wrestled away, and Dick Grayson’s voice cut in, firm and unyielding. “He called him a slur, that slur, so we beat his ass accordingly!”
Jason chimed back in, a hint of admiration in his tone. “I’m gonna take the phone back,” he said, his brother growling with anger at the situation and being arrested. “Yeah, pretty much. Surprisingly, Dick did the most damage.”
“This is stupid! How come we get arrested for doing a civic duty!” Dick yelled in the jail, loud enough that Bruce heard it in the background.
“Would you sit down and breathe or something,” Jason said.
Silence hung heavily in the air as Bruce processed the information, his hand clasped together as he counted in his head to get rid of racing thoughts. He wasn’t aware that Tim was being bullied at work. Tim liked to keep the fact that his father was Bruce Wayne separate from his job at Wayne Enterprises, but him not telling Bruce about this made the usually stoic hero worried.
“Bruce... you there?” Jason’s voice broke the silence, concern threading through his words.
Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Bruce’s voice came out irritated but controlled. “Just counting to ten so I can calm down. What was the worker's name?”
“Kylar,” Jason replied, the weight of the name hanging between them.
Bruce felt a tightening in his chest. That guy had always rubbed him the wrong way. “Hn, that guy? I never liked him. He’s fired, I will make sure he’s personally escorted out of the building and if he tries to harm Tim I- This is a recorded line?
“Yes,” Jason replied, exhausted.
“Right. I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”
“Cool,” Jason responded, relief washing over his voice.
With the call abruptly ended, Bruce slipped the phone into his pocket and stood for a moment, contemplating the situation. He couldn't help but feel a mix of pride and frustration. His sons were fiercely protective of one another, even with the bad history they’ve had, each striving to defend their family in the only way they knew how. Yet, he also knew that this brand of family loyalty often came with consequences.
Exiting the study, Bruce moved with purpose toward the door, his thoughts already racing through potential outcomes of the confrontation. Tonight would be about more than simply bailing his sons out of jail; it would be about setting boundaries, establishing the consequences of their actions, and, more importantly, ensuring that Tim felt safe in his workplace.
Bruce’s stride quickened as he stepped outside, the cool night air rushing to greet him. Gotham sprawled across the horizon—a city of shadows and complexities, where both a vigilante and a father had to tread carefully. The Batfamily was his responsibility, and while they may have a flair for getting into trouble, they were also a force that he would fiercely protect—no matter the circumstances.

Sometimes all you need in the moment is a hug from your dad.

Jason being the easiest kid is super funny. Bruce looking at Jason and remembering Dick at 18: “we can work through this. He’ll come around if I don’t give up on.”
Bruce, watching over a freshly street-snatched Jason: Why is he so calm
Having Dick as the rambunctious, feral, and unhinged first child must've given him SO much whiplash once Jason entered the picture. Lil guy just vibed in his own world. Just reading books and doing schoolwork. Baby Jason hurt nobody.
Bruce will just be going over the ground rules of the manor, remembering all the chaos Dick brought upon the household.
Bruce: No swinging from the chandelier.
Jason: ?? I wasn't planning to?
Bruce: No murder.
Jason: What? That never even crossed my mind-
Bruce: And please, for the love of God, don't sneak out and try to beat up the nearest criminal on our block
Jason:
Jason: WHO is responsible for these rules being created??
Bruce will just come home from a long day of work. He's tired and just wants a nice, quiet evening, but he's subconsciously psyching himself up to prepare himself for the chaos he'll witness once he enters the manor
but then Jason's just quietly doing his own thing, maybe even helping Alfred with some chores, reading, or just lounging about in the manor. In general, just causing no trouble and Bruce just turns to Alfred, all worried like, "Is he sick? I don't think children are supposed to behave this way."

THE NEWS
[BATFAMILY IMAGINE SERIES]
Summary: Bruce and his wife Y/N have something to share with the boys but how would they take it?...
Word count: 1420
Warnings: none?
Bruce Wayne, eccentric billionaire of Gotham city had four sons, three of which were adopted. Y/N Wayne has been his beloved wife for six years now, she had been as good as a mother could be for the boys though they were not her own kin, she did everything for them and didnt hesitate to protect them when needed. Her life revolved around them and all four of them knew that, they adored her just as much as she adored them.
Dick moved out a couple of years ago, Y/N at first was sad since he was the one she had known the longest and he was her first 'son', she understood that he was a grown man now and he needed his own space. Jason switched between the manor and an apartment he owned, sometimes he got homesick which made him feel distressed but he always had the comfort of his 'mother' waiting for him whenever he needed.
Tim had only really just turned seventeen, he was still a child and therefore still in Bruce and Y/N's custody, he has been working hard lately due to him being in college and he's pushing through the darkness of reality to have a successful life. Then there was Damian, he was the baby of the family at the age of fourteen, though he liked to act way older than he really is, being quite mature for his age, he can also be a little broody at times but you know what some say, like father like son, right?
At this point they had all become a big family, perfect but dysfunctional.
"How are we supposed to tell them Bruce? What if they dont take it very well?" Y/N rushed, looking up at her husband who chuckled at her anxious ness.
"Your over thinking it again darling, everything will be perfectly fine. I promise." Bruce slathered an arm around her waist and pulled into his bigger form, rubbing up and down the length of her arm with his other hand.
"Are you sure. Oh what about Damian, I'm sure he wont like this-" Her tone became more distressed as she went on, her hand coming up to rest on her heavy eyes as she let out a shaky breath.
"Dont worry about it Y/N, I'm sure the boys will be delighted. In their own ways." He stated, whispering the last part of the sentence which didnt go unheard by his wife who whined out and hit his chest several times, sending him a glare. "Hey. Everything will be fine."
The woman took a seat on the couch, groaning when she heard the loud thudding sequence of steps that were emitting for the hall. Her elbows came to rest on her knees, body slouching over while her hands held her head up, Bruce sighed lightly and sat beside her, placing and arm around her shoulder in a form of comfort.
"So what'dya wanna talk about Ma'." Jason's voice called out as he entered the room, being followed by the other three boys behind him.
"I-i just..." She wiped her hands down her jeans, looking up at the boys that were watching her nervous movements, Bruce took both of her hands in his and sent her reassuring smile when she glanced his way and nodded slightly. "Well- y-your going to be big brothers."
"W-what?" Dick and Tim squeaked, eyes widening in shock as there mouths fell a gape. They looked at each other and then to the others before facing the adults again, Y/N smiled sheepishly and Bruce arched a brow at them motioning towards the woman who shook in anxious ness.
"Y-your pregnant?" Jason heaved out, a small smile coming to his lips when he looked towards his mother figure.
"Yeah..." Y/N stood up from her place on the couch, along with Bruce who was still trying to comfort her as she was still a little shaky from the nervousness. Her eyes trailed over the boys and fell on Damian who had a neutral look on his face, no emotion present. "D-dami?"
The boy looked at her for split second with squinted eyes before spinning on his heel and rushing out of the room. A hard clutter of footsteps could behead thumping up the stairs, a few seconds later the sound of a door slamming shout could be heard.
"Mum are you-" Tim stepped forwards, looking at the woman with worry in his eyes as he saw the tears start to gather in her own. She shook her head, smiling at him with a sniffle.
She whispered a 'yes' looking back at Bruce momentarily the proceeded to walk away from him, passing the boys to exit the lounge area. Her eyes peered up to the landing, a heavy breath passing her lips when she started to make her way up the stairs.
She hopped up them quickly, strolling down the landing to the end where Damians room was. Her hand rose to the dark oak, hesitation hitting her but she pushed aside the sad feeling that she had felt and knocked on the door three times, hearing shuffling before the door swung open to reveal the small ravenette. Damian held eye contact with the woman intensely, tilting his head to the side. He sighed, rolling his eyes and walked backwards into his room, leaving the door open which was a silent way fo telling her she could enter if she wanted to.
"Dami, i-i never meant to upset you-"
"I'm not upset." He cut her off, turning around to look at her. His blue orbs widened when he saw tears returning to her eyes, a feeling of guilt seeping through the barrier he held. "Al'umu?"
"I'm sorry Damian, really I am." She muttered, wiping her eyes and attempted to send a smile his way but failed immensely when her bottom lip began to tremble, a burn setting in the back of her throat as she tried to hold back the tears.
"Theres nothing to be sorry for Al'umu, I just appear to- to feel jealous." Y/N furrowed her brows in confusion, Damian looked down in shame, falling back to sit on the edge of his bed as he grumbled a few curses under his breath.
"I dont understand." She walked over to his bed and crouched down infront of him, raising a hand to push the pieces of hair away so they disnt block his face. She brushed a finger of his cheek, lifting up his chin so he looked at her. "I need you to know, you can never be replaced Dami. I wont allow that to happen, you'll still always be important just as much as the others and this baby."
"But-"
"No Damian, sure at first the baby will need alot of attention but I wont allow any of you boys to feel left out. Besides, you'll always my baby Wayne, Dame." Y/N stood up, pulling the boy with her, bringing him into het embrace which he accepted right away. She placed a kiss at the top of his head and brought him in closer, chuckling when he snuggled closer.
"Aw- who'da thought Demon was soft." Jason's voice echoed through the room making the two look towards the archway, spotting Jason along with Bruce and the other two boys whi smiled at the sight before them.
"Shut it Todd. Fuck you, I'm not soft." Damian went to pull away from Y/N but was pulled back into the hug, much to his dismay as he didnt want anyone to see him in this 'state'.
"You want a hug too Jay?" She tilted her head with a smirk, letting Damian free from her grasp. Her eyes squinted at the second oldest who frowned and looked at her but ended up nodding walking towards her and encasing her in his arms.
"Group hug!" Dick called out, grabbing Tim's arm and rushed to join the hug. Y/N chuckled reaching an arm out to the side, pulling the two boys in. Damian was now stuck at her side since Dick and Tim were blocking his exit.
"C'mon Bruce." The man scoffed, rolling his eyes playfully before making his way towards the crowding hug. He walked around to the back so his chest was against Y/N's back and he wrapped his arms around the boys, smiling at the moment they are having together at this time.

Jason Todd walks to Bruce Wayne scrolling through photos on his phone.
Jason: You want baby pictures of Damian?
Bruce spits out his coffee in shock.
Jason: You have to pay me.
Bruce (frantic): You better not be lying to me because if you have baby pictures of him I will pay you whatever price you ask.
Jason: Um okay I have about 10 I can give you now so $10,000 for each one.
Bruce: Stay there, gotta get my phone and I'll transfer the funds to your bank account.
Bruce runs out of the room leaving Jason Todd with Alfred watching impressed.
Alfred: Jason, how did you get baby pictures?
Jason: Remember, I knew about his existence before Bruce ever did. I visited the kid for the first 9 years before Bruce found out about him. Talia paid me to take photos of him for memories.
Alfred: That's very wholesome of you.
Jason (confused): I said Talia paid me.
Alfred: Money or not, you did a good deed. Now Master Bruce can have a few photos and trust me, he's been begging Talia for baby pictures for years. Be proud of yourself.
Jason smiles.
Jason: I appreciate you saying that.
Alfred: I mean every word of it. You're welcome.

I love Harley and Jason’s dynamic because they’re both so compassionately unhinged.
They’re teaming up to chase a drug dealer and he ends up going back home so they bust in the window.
Harley: Get your ass out here.
* a woman setting the table for two and a toddler spontaneously breaks into tears*
Harley: Oh, babes are you okay?
Wife: *sniffle* I can’t with the violence and… all the strangers busting in. I… I just wanna raise a little girl *sniffle*
Jason: You stay. I’ma go follow him. Don’t expect him to be home again.
Harley: Come on dear, let’s eat and talk it all out
*signature Dr. Quinzel relationship therapy*
Harley: Your better off without his ass. You are a strong capable woman and will raise one too.
Jason walks in with a box of doughnuts: How are things going?

Incorrect Quotes: Bruce giving money to the Bat-Family | Part 3
Previous Part: Link | Next Part: Link
Damian: Father. I require monetary resources.
Bruce: Do you mean pocket change or something... more?
Damian: More.
Bruce: What for?
Damian: ...
Bruce: Damian...
Damian: It is... unnecessary to go into detail, father. You can trust though that it is merely a modest amount and strictly required.
Bruce: Son. Just tell me what this is for first.
Damian ...
Bruce: ...
Damian: Tt. Fine. A boy on the tennis team at Gotham Academy has once again insulted your honour. I know you told me to ignore such jests... but it seems my silence has only emboldened
Bruce: <Sighs> As much as I appreciate the thought, what exactly are you intending?
Damian: I wish to learn from the greatest tennis masters of the world, so I may utterly obliterate this fool and render him an example. Do not worry, this will be a wholly non-lethal defeat; in fact the reason I wish to learn from tennis masters despite my vast array of applicable skill is so that a single of my moves could be deemed an attack. I must adopt the stance, heart and finesse of tennis.
Bruce: <Blinks> I... see.
Damian: So... will you grant me your blessing and monetary support for this endeavour to defend the honour of both yourself and our family?
Bruce: Have you tried talking to anyone that this boy makes you feel uncomfortable?
Damian: I am not uncomfortable, I am peeved. And for your information, I have. The elder brother of a compatriot of mine, Mia Mizoguchi as you might recall her name being, is the captain of this tennis team. However this rival who questions our family's honour is a cunning sort, I will grant him that. He has done well to keep his slander amongst friendly ears, and action anything which could justify punitive action from his superiors.
Bruce: Hm. Seems like you're in a bit of a tough one from the sounds of it.
Damian: Indeed. Defeating him in his sport of passion will not only publicly humiliate him, but also remind him of the strength of our family.
Bruce: While I... suppose I can see your logic there. But I think you're forgetting a key detail.
Damian: Which is?
Bruce: This fellow student of yours is not a enemy to vanquish. He's a child, speaking his mind.
Damian: But he voices horrible accusations against your honour! Claims you are a "mindless playboy", and that my adoptive siblings and I are your illegitimate children of various women whom you were forced by the courts to care for, and that you are a drunkard, and are a bad role model.
Bruce: I understand why hearing all that upsets you, and that is perfectly fine. As I said, I appreciate how much you care about my... honour. But devoting yourself defeating him in tennis isn't the answer.
Damian: <Huffs and crosses arms with incredulous expression> Then what is, father? Shall I just continue to hold my tongue?
Bruce: I want you to enjoy school, not treat it like another battlefield. If this boy is really being this bad, then there's other ways to deal with him. You're smart, and you got good friends such as the Mizoguchi girl you mentioned. Bring attention that he's crossing a line... and if that does not work, tell me; and I can handle it through the proper channels.
Damian: Tt. Fine. I will... try once more to expose him and his lies.
Bruce: Good. On a related note... I understand that Mia Mizoguchi has been causing you to grow interested in Serpents & Spells? <Takes out S&S Guidebook> I got this for you, so you don't have to keep borrowing hers. This seems like something you'd much rather be spending your time on compared to avenging my honour in tennis.
Damian: <Blinks> I... uh... thank you, father. Uh... I must go now and... contact Mizoguchi that I will reconsider her invitation for a lunchtime tabletop one-shot.
Bruce: Good. Have fun, son.
Damian: I… will. Thank you once again, father.

Little fandom vent; sometimes I get annoyed at the way fandom reduces Damian down to stabby child who only cares about himself and does murder. Like yeah while I get fandom almost always reduces characters down to their funniest or snappiest traits Damian's just doesn't make sense.
Like his whole character is about how much he DOESNT want to be those things.
Damian cares so so so much about other people he just struggles to express it bc it takes a lot for him to trust someone enough to believe they're not going to pull the rug out from under him or betray him somehow. If he didn't care about other people he wouldn't have spent months trying to find Martha's pearls in the sewer, risking his life bc there was a bounty on his head at this point and further ruining his image with Bruce (who thought Damian was just sneaking off and putting himself in danger). He wouldn't have denounced the league and everything he knew to protect a man he'd met less than a year ago. He wouldn't have purposely failed a timed test as Robin to get across the city as fast as possible (a test that would've allowed him to go out alone as Robin and given him more independence one of things Damian values very highly) instead he went over the allowed time by more than 10 hours BC he helped old women with their shopping and walked women home after they were robbed and he sat with a man he saw crying in his apartment for more than 2 hours just having tea with him. I could go on and on about all the genuinely kind things he does bc Damian's empathy and kindness is one of his defining traits actually.
And yeah he used to kill people and he was more prone to violence than the other Robins but he was literally raised in an environment where his worth and by proxy his survival was tied to how well he did murder. I'm pretty sure if you raised any child in an environment where since they were born they were rewarded for killing and violence but punished for showing mercy and told them that it's for the greater good, that they're special and that there's nothing wrong with killing if the ends justify the means they'd end up the same.
Not to mention Damian fights so hard to not be violent bc he doesn't want to be, the people Damian admires most in the world (Dick and Jon) both based their entire personality around Superman (also it's confirmed Supes is his fav justice Leaguer in supersons). Damian wants to be like them so bad and wants to be kind and outgoing and as pacifist as you can get as a vigilante. Damian struggles so much to be that person but it's not as easy as just stopping when you've been conditioned your whole life that killing is the right move and that your worth as a person and the love of those around is dependent on you doing it. He literally keeps a sketch book where he just draws out all the intrusive violent thoughts he gets while fighting villains to get the anger and compulsion out so that he DOESN'T do those things. And Damian feels immensely guilty about all of his past murders which is shown over and over. When he kills no-body (an action he did to protect Bruce) he asks Bruce afterwards how he's supposed to make amends, how he's supposed to live with it.
Which leads me onto the other thing (and hopefully the last cause wow this is getting long) even Damian at his absolute worst only performs extreme violence out of either self defense or logic to him. He doesn't do it out of maliciousness (or at least that isn't the motivating factor). His worst actions were probably in his introduction where he 1) He accosted Alfred and stole the key to exit the batcave 2) Decapitated a villian 3) Attacked Tim
So let's get background on these events from Damian's pov. Damian has never been told who his father is and has to duel his mother every year on his birthday for the chance to find out. And then on his 10th birthday he wins and then that same night he's taken on a plane to go live with this man who he's told about on the plane ride over, then his first impression of him is Bruce fighting a bunch of manbats. His mother says she's leaving him with him indefinitely not telling him when she'll be back. And then this man who he only found out about hours beforehand takes him on another plane to a foreign country where he knows no-one and he finds out his father has other children as well. He's then locked in a small room adjoining a fucking cave full of weapons and told virtually nothing with no-one really talking to him except for them telling him that oh yeah everyone you know and trust is evil and your whole world view is wrong. And then when he yells at Bruce and has what's honestly best described as a temper tantrum (BC oh yeah he was literally 9 years old until a couple hours ago) Bruce in a bid to try and control his anger (since he's not sure how dangerous he is yet) uses league tactics on Damian telling him that he's dishonouring those who taught him. So the literal child whose spent his 10th birthday being flown around the globe to be a dumped in a foreign country with a man he's never met and only knows is a good fighter with a family consisting of an unknown amount of other allies who are similarly trained and then was locked in a room after being told his whole life is a lie might be forgiven for latching onto the only familiar thing here and going 'oh! Now I know how this works'
With the knowledge that Damian definitely decided from this conversation that the bats operate the same as the league it's pretty clear his reasoning is
1) Accosting Alfred and and stealing the key - a) I don't think you'd wanna be locked in a space by a bunch of strangers either no matter how nice the space is b) he probably assumed it was a challenge to see whether he was able to break out and a way they were testing his worth/ability
2) Decapitated a villian - once again assuming this is a test and trying to prove his worth/help his father in the mission to stop crime he was just told about
3) attacked Tim - a) Damian assumes that since Tim is home that he must be the current favourite and it's already known that in the league the way you replace someone is by killing them thus proving you were better than them. B) in the league if you were not the favourite/the best you were disposable c) the only way Damian knows how to earn/receive love is by performing violence, it's pretty reasonable that a 10 year old would try to go above and beyond to earn their new father's love (especially for a child like Damian whose always looking for that unconditional love he's been denied)
From Damian's perspective here he's being the best son anyone could want, he's doing the most past the point he'd be expected to and only being met with anger and disgust. Not to mention that from his view he's literally ensuring his safety since once again in the league Damian was one of the only people whose safety was ensured by proxy of him being the heir/favourite, we literally see them kill other leaguers as part of training.
Like this isn't to excuse what he did or say it's right but it is to point out that it WAS right from Damian's point of view and that he doesn't do what he does out of malice or blood thirst he's just a small child who quite literally didn't know any better.
(also him being mean is similarly a self defense thing, it's fairly common in abused kids. It's the logic of you can't hurt me if I hurt you first/you can't hurt me if I don't let you get close enough)

The batfam’s favourite family member is often a debatable topic, and for this reason I propose the answer:
It depends.
If the bats want comfort, just want to be pampered, play some games or watch movies, be coddled, kept safe, warm and cozy, a place where they can unwind or just stay as long as they like they go to Dick. Theres just something about his aura that always had a way of making people feel less alone, and tears and laughter are welcomed with open arms. It’s where they can shed their responsibilities and just for a few hours be the younger sibling who’s spoilt.
If the bats just want someone there, not to talk to necessarily but just another presence they usually seek out Barbara or Tim. Conversations and silences are always comfortable, and you can do what you want with a guarantee they don’t mind. Be it just watching them work, or doing your own thing. It’s silent companionship and at times where they just wanted to be , not running around or doing work, they’d just plop down next to them.
If they wanted someone to do crazy shenanigans with, create chaos or dabble in morally grey areas they’d call Duke and Stephanie. The ends justify the means and if that means sometimes blowing up stuff or stealing from the thieves it’s a fun night out and you know that when you call both of them would be down to hang. It’s always a fun time which ends with a night of dubious choices and fast food while you all sit on the rooftops and laugh your hearts out.
However, if they got scared, the first person they would go to is Jason. Jason was the kind of person who’d punch first ask questions later. The kind who’d let you have your space as you cry without prying on the issue until a few days later when you’re calm. He’s the guy who would feel anger on your behalf, and if there’s a fight he’ll be the first one to back you up. A night at his house shows his gentler side, with him reading books and talking about literature till you fall asleep, to going out and bringing groceries to make you your favourite breakfast in the morning. He never shows how concerned he is, but actions always speak louder than words.
Cassandra and Damian are always the first ones sought when you develop a new interest or obsession, no matter how niche. Cassandra loves listen to you excitedly ramble on about why you love it and encourages you to continue breaking down the core components, happy to listen to you spiral down your hyper fixation. Damian always pretends he doesn’t care, sometimes even scoffing but deep down he is deeply touched that you let him in on something so precious and close to you. And if one day when you’re down or it’s your birthday he won’t say a word as you find a beautiful portrait of it on your bedside.
