After I watched this movie, I cried to my sisters, like full on sobbing in the middle of the kitchen as I tried to explain why I was crying. My youngest sister, who was eight, went ‘who?’ And as I’m explaining, she continued with ‘asked’. So yeah, this movie was great, 10/10, of you have a piece of shit younger sibling, don’t cry in front of them

I know it was probably said like a million times since the movie came out, but my favourite detail in the whole movie is in the DNA numbers with Red Hood's 635 being the issue number when he appears under that name while Jason's 428 is for the issue in which he dies

Batfamily doing the ‘We listen and we don’t judge’ trend (Part 1?)

Obviously Stephanie was the one who decided to drag them into this.

Steph: *frustrated* for the millionth time, we have to say it at the same time. We listen and we don’t judge.

Everyone: *unevenly* we listen and we don’t judge…

Tim: *mumbles under his breath* If anything, there are at least three people in this room that could win an award for the most judgmental person of Gotham with how much ego they carry around…

*Jason, Damian and Bruce dart killing looks at Tim while Steph grins, setting the camera up*

Steph: now you’re getting the hang of it! *looks at the boys* SAY IT!

Jason, Damian and Bruce: *grumpily* We listen and we don’t judge…

Dick: *excited to participate* My turn-!

Jason: *interrupts and glances at Tim* I wanna say something! When you refuse to go to sleep, Alfred changes the coffee blend to one that has crushed sleeping pills in it because no one can stand the endless shivering, pointless case leads and four days, no-shower, stinky smell!

*Tim visibly offended and shocked evaluating his life choices. Damian is amused and more on board with this game. Bruce is impressed by how he never noticed the change of coffee. And Dick is deciding whether to scold Jason for revealing their secret weapon to Tim or for offending him*

Steph: *breaking the silence loudly and with a smile* We listen and we don’t judge!

Maybe I’ll do more parts based on this trend. I’m having fun thinking of the scenarios where they roast each other!

I think it would be funny just to see what the others reactions would be

Would Damian be unsure of his place in the family? What would Bruce think or Jason? Maybe Dick is so tired of being Batman that it takes a second for him to even notice the child? Idk I just think it would be interesting

Also I think it would be neat to see how Duke would interact with Terry too Does Stephenie become that one aunt that’s just really crazy in the best way?

Off topic, but I've always hated it whenever Tim fans uses the idea that Dick is just, well, a dick just for the hell of it to Tim when he came to ask him for help. If some kid showed up knowing my secret identity will reminding me the deaths of multiple family members, the killer of my parents, while asking me to work with (we all know it's more under) my adoptive parent who hit, manipulated, subtly blamed me for my little brother's death, and seemingly permanently kicked me out I'd be rude to him to.

Please for the love god don't wash out other characters just because you want your blorbo to shine, you're doing the same thing that many fans complain about DC doing

It is so, so important to me that people understand that Tim didn't figure out the bats because Dick was a "Show off". Like yes, Dick Grayson is the most flamboyant, dramatic ass man you will ever meet.

But the quadruple somersault? There's no way that was because dick was just showing off. Because you're telling me Bruce Wayne, who's so committed to hiding his identity that he literally acts like a completely different person out of the mask in public just to ward suspicion, would miss the fact that Robin regularly uses the flying Grayson's trademark move? There's literally no way.

In the comics we see Tim explain his deductive process to Dick and Alfred and they're both surprised impressed whatever. We don't see him explain it to Bruce. I think Bruce would be surprised and shocked that a 9 year old was able to put the pieces together but I don't think he'd be surprised that the quadruple somersault gave it away.

So if Bruce was possibly aware of such an obvious give away, why let it continue?

I'll tell you why.

It really comes down to the physics

So Dick was 9 when he started out right? That means the most he'd have likely weighed was 43kgs or roughly 95lbs in freedom units.

But Dick and both of his parents are gymnasts who tend to be smaller. So he was likely less than that.

In physics, rotating objects build up angular momentum (this is how bikes stay up right for example). The more rotation, the more momentum. And objects with less mass build up that momentum much faster than those that are heavier.

Robin constantly has to fight people who are nearly 3 times his size. I teach 8 year olds, they're tiny. A quadruple somersault for a small boy that weighs less than a hundred pounds is a brutal weapon. Especially if you add in the acceleration from gravity as he drops in from above.

And I can guarantee you this logic tracks because Dick literally utilizes this idea, without the somersault, in the 2009 teen titans cartoon.

Yeah, that's right. We're talking about the infamous knee drop.

Like it is borderline savage. Add in a quadruple somersault and the resulting force is nearly fatal. It's likely the main reason Batman would ever allow him to do it with the cape on.

Also, Dick landing feet first on the penguin in the first image probably gave the guy severe back issues
