Some days ago you wrote a post saying that you were writing something using elder scrolls lore? I think? What's that about? Are you writing some au? I'm a bit lost on your most recent fanfics (I'm waiting until I have some free time so I can give nexus a try, I'm just a bit intimidated cause I know next to nothing about DC) but I love reading about your ideas and characters, they all sound so genuinely interesting and we'll writen.

Ohhhh yes, okay so!

Wayyyyyyyy back in the day, there were a bunch of Riddler ask/art/rp blogs, that all portrayed their respective Riddler in very different ways. Some were based on official material (YJ is from the 2011 Young Justice animated series, Arkham from the Arkham City video game, Detective was originally based off the 1992 Batman: the Animated Series, but became highly altered as their storyline continued) some, like Narci, Puzzles, and Nash, were original takes on the character. Swag stared out as a parody that became a solid character as time passed. All of these interacted with each other, and developed into a found family.

Helix (My OC) came along a little later, and began interacting with them. None of us really expected how inextricably involved she was going to become, since she's much more of a high fantasy character, than a DC character, but it all happened pretty organically, and was a lot of fun.

Back then, I started a bunch of creative projects I wanted to share with the writers of these blogs, but I had just ended my relationship with my ex-fiancee, moved back in with my parents, and was working in a pretty toxic environment, and it just slaughtered my creative output. If I were to point you to my old blog, which I shan't, you would see that I drew maybe five or six things in as many years, when previously, I had drawn almost every day.

All of those blogs eventually went silent, the last interaction being between Helix and Narci. Since then, some of them have even been deleted entirely. I forgot about the things I was going to do, and they lay ignored for years. Then I stumbled across my old harddrive, where all these ideas still existed, barely sketched out, partially begun, and it all flooded back. Yeah, those blogs are done, some of the writers have disappeared, it's all over. But those stories are still there, and so am I.

I am in a much better place than I was. I have some writing practice under my belt, and, most importantly, I have inspiration again. I can make the art I always wanted to. I can write the stories I always wanted to. I can finish what I wanted to start.

That all being said, One of the things I started a long time ago, was an elder scrolls crossover. I had also started playing Skyrim at around that time, and it was an idle idea that I thought would be fun. When I found that harddrive, the first chapter had been partially written out, and I ended up taking the ideas there, and going in a different direction with them. I now have an over thirty chapter, ongoing story involving Helix and Swag stumbling their way through Cyrodiil, told entirely through Swag's POV. I've been posting it on my main/RP blog rather than here, because I felt that Helix and Swag's relationship hadn't been well enough expressed in the Nexusverse yet. Almost all of the Nexus stories so far take place in 2011-2013, and this crossover story takes place in 2020, so there's a lot in between that I haven't gone into yet, you know?

But considering that I've been posting some of the later Nexus stories out of chronological order, I might just start posting it anyway. I think it's kinda obvious by now how some of Helix's relationships pan out, so it might be okay. What do you think?

Also, you are very sweet, and I'm glad I've been able to express some of my ideas in a way that others can enjoy them with me. I will warn you, the stories that are from Helix's POV can be a bit challenging to follow; she doesn't experience reality in the same way as most people, which I've expressed with synesthesia and the repetition of consonants, syllables, and vowel sounds in a freeform poem/prose manner. If you do start the Nexus stories at their beginning, you'll see why.

Don't be too intimidated though; most Nexus stories are only 1-2000 words, with the exception of Orbital Unresonanace, which is, admittedly, a chonker. But you've been reading Lasa, so I know you can handle unreasonably large stories.

What made you pick up this character? Are there some things you dislike about how the show/series/etc. portray the character you have picked up? If so, what? Which song do you feel describes your character the most and why?

What made you pick up this character?

The Riddler was always a character I was somewhat interested in due to his intellect and how he used that against Batman and how Batman himself used his own intellect to solve what he was doing, I first saw the Riddler in Batman the Animated Series. When I was a kid I was interested in discovering secrets and puzzles, and I also read detective novels when I was young, which is why my version of him also did the same thing.

I also wanted to RP as a villain, since I haven’t done that in a while on here due to insecurities I had previously (it was in another fandom). Also it’s great that I could explore his detective skills (and redemption) in more detail in the AU I also created where Eddie’s a private investigator.

Are there some things you dislike about how the show/series/etc. portray the character you have picked up? If so, what?

I’ve been playing Arkham City, and although I like the Riddler in this series of games damn he’s annoying as fuck. He never shuts up, he’s a huge douchebag…but that’s what makes him a good villain in these games because his annoying, pretentious, egotistical nature motivates me to take him down. For example it was so satisfying for me to find all of the Riddler Trophies in Arkham Asylum and to hear him get arrested. 

Although I have some elements from Arkhamverse Riddler in my version, I will never fully RP as Arkhamverse Riddler.

Which song do you feel describes your character the most and why?

I would say that in my opinion Shapes by Poppy describes my version of Eddie the most, at least when he was dealing with his father and his abuse. To me the song's intensity also represents Eddie's rage towards his father and how that drove to kill him. Mostly because of these lyrics that are in the song:

You push me into spaces I fit

If I stand my ground, call me a bitch

I'm not a pacifist and you know this

And my rage is my emotional protest

Jason began to regret picking Conner up in the first place.

“Bart could never keep a spaceship in working order for however many years it’s been since that baseball game - that can’t be true. The other stuff? Sure, why not? It makes as much sense as the thing with Klarion.”

“Eh, enough about Young Justice. Two truths and a lie,” Jason interrupted before Conner could even tell Tim that he was right. “The Joker is dead, Batman killed him, and there hasn’t been an Arkham breakout in weeks.”

just a little one !     i am very new to dc + marvel comics and find myself often overwhelmed with the amount of issues there are to read.     i’ve got the spirit,  but i may or may not know the basics about your muse when it comes to comic based portrayals.     i apologize in advance,  but it’s nothing a little plotting can’t fix,  so if i pop into your ims with stupid questions about your muse, this is why.     but as always,  if you’re still down to clown,  i am very much too !

001. . .     activity.

i'll be frank : i write pretty sporadically, and this goes for ic and ooc interactions. i can get overwhelmed juggling responsibilities often, and socializing is one of the first things to go.     i un  /  fortunately work 40 hour work weeks,    and only get every other weekend off,  so my schedule makes consistent activity difficult on top of my focus. if i can successfully plot something with you, i find my muse is sooo much more involved, but i'm contradictorily bad at it due to the reasons above ; it's truly hit or miss, and i understand if that becomes frustrating for any of my partners.    sometimes i’ll be able to get out a couple drafts a week,  others merely once,  or not at all. if i haven’t replied or answered something in a while,  please know it’s nothing personal, i’m just taking my time until i feel good about what i can put down.     writing is a hobby i enjoy, but if you're looking for a blog with any sort of regularity, this isn't the one for you. i have other rp blogs i try to run as well,  therefore i might be very slow on this one at times.     i can be quite the flaky rp partner,  so i apologize in advance for that and completely understand if my antics   [  or lack thereof  ]   result in an unfollow. if i go longer than two months without activity, i'll try to make a hiatus notice.

because of the previously stated,  i’m also highly selective with who i rp with.     i want to not to bite off more than i can chew,  and for the sake of pacing myself,  my activity will be reserved for mutuals only.     if my thread count gets too high for my liking, it's not uncommon that i drop threads, but i will absolutely try and let you know if that happens.     duplicates are always welcome <;3   [  let me know if you need me to tag same - muse posts and i’ll be happy to !  ] i regularly go on softblocking sprees to keep my follower count semi - low, but do feel free to re - follow if you feel like the stars merely misaligned for our first bout of mutual following and i'd be very down to give it another shot. on that note, it'll take me a week+ to follow back sometimes, as i like to read through not only rules, but dossiers and verse pages, especially for ocs, so it can take a hot minute.

the basics  ;  don’t be an asshole,  any transphobia,  biphobia,  homophobia,  racism,  whitewashing,  pro - shipping,  incest,  etc,  will be blocked on sight.     no godmodding,  please cut your threads,  continue asks in new posts,  etc,  and no stealing of any personal concepts of mine.     loose inspiration is fine,  but if i see repeated similarities,  i may or may not approach you about it.     formatting - wise,  here is an example of my prose style.     i primarily use big ol’ text and static or no icons,  beta editor + xkit rewritten,  but feel free to format however you like and i’ll try to match you somewhat. since my concussion, however, i will no longer be threading with super small text or anything heavily formatted, as this can strain my eyes and make headaches worse, even with my glasses.

i’m all about exploring meaningful dynamics,  whether they be platonic,  familial,  antagonistic,  pre - established,  etc,  so feel free to shoot me a message if you’d like to plot something out between our muses !     while the mun of this blog is 18+,  smut just really isn’t my thing  ;  referenced  ‘ offscreen ’  as it were is fine,  as are nfsfw headcanons and such,  maybe fade to black  /  time skips,  but for the most part,  you won’t find any roleplayed smut on this blog.     this of course is muse dependent and does not apply to any underage muses.     romance is fine to some degree,  but again,  if they are a child,  anything beyond lighthearted and innocent experiences are off limits,  no exceptions.     if i see you’ve aged up a minor character for shipping purposes,  it will result in an instant unfollow.     if at some point i flesh out adult verses for them,  these shipping rules will not change.     on that note as well,  i do prefer to rp with muns who are also 18+.     i don’t see your age somewhere in your rules or pinned,  it will affect my willingness to follow.

A Bit about my Bruce/Batman: Also an IMPORTANT PSA.

So Just a heads-up because it keeps happening!!

My bruce has no relation to any of the Arkham games or even the movies. So the harshness, brashness, and even the brute nature of those batmans are not present in my representation of him!

My bruce takes HEAVILY personality-wise from BTAS, The Batman (2004), Long Halloween, and JLA/JLU. There's some comic inspiration here and there.

I'll be adding this to the about page I have listed on his blog.

Ahhhh thank you!! I got this from @wintherlywords as well, so I'll ramble a bit more than usual!

So The Corpse and the Killer! It's one of the biggest projects I've ever taken on - a longfic crossover between two practically dead fandoms! I started it last year, got burnt out at chapter 10, and haven't posted for it since.

Now I have written for it. My draft is sitting on Chapter 32 now. I'm just waiting until I've finished the whole thing so I can prevent another hiatus, y'know?

But this is about things I love about it so here we go!

One thing I love about it is that I get to explore the characters, really get into their heads. How is Tim holding up with being trapped under Panessa Studios, unable to do a single thing to help? How is he coping with the fresh knowledge that his fiance is (potentially) dead? How is Jason/The Arkham Knight handling the fact that he now has to work with the very man he's here to kill? How is Batman dealing with the fact that the only way to stop the undead is to kill them, violating his one rule? Am I botching it up? Oh, probably. But I'm having a good time getting into their heads and having a bit of a dig, you know?

I also love that it allows me to "fix" the canon. There were...decisions made in the writing of the game that I feel are...not great. So in this fic, I'm fixing it. For example, it isn't necessary AT ALL to have Batman enter the fields of fear toxin to fix the Batmobile, because twenty minutes later, he gets a WHOLE NEW BATMOBILE. They make it sound like the Batmobile is the only one in existence when it isn't! Uggggggh no fix that immediately.

This one, I have to give credit to my friend, Chaotic Neutral Bastard. We're doing an Arkham Knight RP together, and he came up with the idea to switch the proper nouns for how Jason is feeling and thinking - so when he's "weak" and feeling emotions like guilt, it's Jason that's thinking it - but when he's "strong" and "pushing that weakness aside", it's The Arkham Knight. I love that concept so I stole it (with permission, so is it really stealing? Hmm)

And of course, what is a longfic without an oc or two? I've stolen Jacobi and Anderson from CNB, and I'm using Gharza and Kia from my own collection. It fleshes out the city a bit more, makes it feel more alive to me. I absolutely love writing their segments too. It's fun to see how the world changes just because one new person is in it.

I finally started to read shards of the nexus! I'm very far behind though so, no spoilers? I just wanted to drop by and say that your writing is fantastic in these. I loved the gore element of Puzzles having to regrow his internal organs! Really cool! And the riddles are all very interesting so far, YJ and Puzzles are my favorites so far!

Can't say I understand much as of now, I feel like I'm missing a lot of context (I fundamentally don't know what a riddler is) so I'm going to read some wikis now, any advice on what I should be looking for? If I want to get context I mean. I'm really enjoying the journey though, i love Helix a whole lot already, she's nice! And her descriptions seems very smell focused which I can empathize with. I love how she describes to world around her, I'm learning meny new words thanks to her too (I'm my defense I'll say that I'm a spanish speaker and you have a very rich vocabulary hehe)

Oooh, I am very excited! And Spanish! Goodness, some of these turns of phrase are difficult even for an English speaker, I am so sorry for all the research ahead of you! Or happy? If you like researching, I mean.

Helix has damaged eyes and ears, so she senses magic with her nose! Scent is important to her.

YJ is a sweet darling, and a total nerd. He deserves all the love. And Puzzles is a rude little bitch, but somehow charming as well. I love him so much, he was so fun to RP with, and so fun to watch Swag's writer just roast him all the time. Funny thing; YJ and Arkham were played by the same person! So the sweetest one and the meanest one both came from the same place.

The Riddler is a villain from Batman comics. He's been around for 75 years, and he's been portrayed in a lot of different ways, but mostly he focuses on using riddles and puzzles and traps to commit crimes and challenge Batman. Sometimes he is playful, and sometimes he is very mean, and sometimes he tries to reform, and sometimes he and Batman have to work together. Green is his main color, usually with purple or black, and question marks are his symbol.

Now, Puzzles, Nash, Narci, and Swag aren't based on any canon material. They are original takes on the character. Arkham came from the Arkham Asylum series of video games. There are playthroughs of his parts of the game on youtube, and here he is, speaking to one of the other villains in the game:

YJ is from the Young Justice cartoon series. it's about the heroes sidekicks coming together to form their own team to fight an underground terrorist organization. It might be worth it to watch the first season, in order to understand what is going on. I remember it being pretty good. They fight a lot of different villains, so YJ only had a tiny amount of screen time. Here it is:

And Detective was originally based on the Batman: The Animated Series cartoon from 1992. This whole series is great, I really recommend watching it for a good introduction to Batman and his villains. Here is Riddler's introduction, in parts, because youtube:

As you can see, they've always been extravagant.

I know trying to get into characters from DC and Marvel can be really intimidating, since they are huge and have been around a long time! It think this is the best start I can give you for right now. Enjoy!

Any of the Batman honestly, and their allies, they're all wonderful, and I love it when people play multiple characters, heroes, villains, all of them.

{Whew, that's a list. But, I honestly would love any characters, I mostly do DC characters, BUT depending on the fandom, I will do Marvel though I know NOTHING about it minus some stuff. Any superhero characters, super villain, anti-heros, etc. all game for RP, even OCs in Gotham City in general or the DC Universe as whole}

{Whenever RPs start, just ask for rules since it will be different per session, but in general it's these as the in general interaction rules.}

No killing my character{s} without consent. {That should be obvious, it's no fun if the only character I got is dead}

2. No Mary Sues for the love of all that's holy. No one is perfect and like, I know my limitations since I want to have FUN.

3. No god-modding. {The only information that should be known really is she works at the GCPD, other information like Strange knowing is moreso from old stuff that happened and I enjoyed it, hence fuel for any of those characters to use for RPs}

4. Don't rail road the rps into uncomfortable situations, aka uncomfy irl, and control my character without consent. (Unless its a defined path/part we both have agreed to do).

5. If I say something is uncomfy to me during a RP, like OOC uncomfy, I'd rather it not continue.

6. I know y'all got traumatized characters, she's def one now, but if ya do stuff involving certain ones tag it accordingly/spoiler/allude loosely to it cause I got peeps who I follow that don't need to see that.

7. Any 'spicy' things are automatically fade to black if approved at the earliest point, mostly cause again, got peeps who don't need to see it and I just want a fade to black cause I'd rather continue from an after-point.

8. No sudden shipping, ask me about it first. {I'm perfectly fine with wholesome shipping/Fluff/Angst, that stuff is 100% fine. Cause it's hella nice and fun, and in the past she's actually been shipped with Riddler and Scarecrow, I DO remember that, but she doesn't always have to be shipped, being friends with characters first and chemistry between them is important before leaning to sailing that shipping to them.} {Now, if an old muse shows up and they happen to be one I shipped her with, absolutely you're allow to bring that ship back}
