One of the things I never got quite clearly is how the education system works in the US. In my country, private schools are a rare occasion, even the most "humble" and cheap private schools are like, super rare, and for most of us, when we hear that someone attended a private school we go like "Wow your parents are super rich huh". Also, homeschooling just isn't a thing that happens here, apart from children with disabilities and mostly because they physically cannot attend school. But since most of my knowledge of how Murica works is from (mostly mainstream) American films, I pose here this poll.

Choose the option that applies the best to you, like if you attended private school for three years and public for nine, choose public school.

I said it over on twitter but it bears repeating over here.

Louis is light-skinned, him being black doesn't mean he automatically has the darkest skin tone in the room, and it's noticeable and odd when you choose to draw him darker than Armand. I understand the want to make sure you aren't whitewashing but we've gone too far in the other direction and it's still not great. You do need to still put in the effort to not just slapping any skin tone on a person. This happens with Claudia a ton too, especially with season 1 Claudia.

Black people are not a monolith. We aren't a vague collection of swappable features to pick and choose at random, and its starting to feel like artists don't care to actually draw how black characters look as long as they are recognizable as a generalized black person. Making non-black characters notably lighter and smaller in stature compared to a black character has roots in a bunch of racist shit, and it feels especially egregious in Louis' case. Ofc as an artist you're going to emphasize and stylize one way or another, but you also need to recognize that you aren't creating in a vacuum, and how you depict people is reflective of how many of us are seen.

can't stop fucking thinking about sun/moon shuggy bc shanks is the sun always and buggy is forever the moon. buggy will never be the sun, he will never shine as brilliantly as shanks or anyone else. and the moon makes no light of it's own!!!! it only shines bc the sun's light reflects off of it!!!! buggy never shines by himself!!! he will never make his own light!!! buggy who is always second best, shining only from the light shanks gives him. even worse, you only ever see half of the moon illuminated at one time!!!! shanks who gives buggy the light he needs to shine but only for certain parts of buggy!!!! never all of him!!!!! buggy never shines fully and he never will bc buggy is the moon, he isn't a star or a comet or a meteor, he's a moon and moons don't shine by themselves. and buggy who devotes himself to shanks bc he wants to shine, by god he wants it so badly he aches somedays, but shanks is the golden child, shining with splendor, and buggy knows when to stop fighting a losing battle. he sticks around for years drawn in by the gravity of shanks' orbit until loguetown, and as his captain's head hits the ground, buggy feels himself splinter into thousands of little meteoroids. he leaves shanks standing in the rain and thinks to himself, i will shine by myself or i will die trying
