I don't understand why some people are so idiotic...Sophie,Vic,Jos are his family. Anyone în this world would do the same:help his family and be there for them like they were for him. I miss pop divas. all the girlies now are writing these songs in their bedroom whispering into a microphone so their parents don’t wake up two rooms over. I was hopeful we were getting belting back with olivia’s work on drivers license but her openers were so quiet in comparison. no one is bad! I love bedroom pop. but I sorely miss the panache of early 2000s power pop, and I like listening to throwbacks but I don’t understand why contemporary artists aren’t trying harder for it now. dua is kind of there, and then you have the artists that have just lasted the test of time (Bey and Gaga easiest examples), but otherwise. Eh.

Ooohh this is very interesting to me as I have been listening to and researching pop divas a bit more for my writing project recently. I think Ariana also deserves a spot on this list because she is really going for that Diva vibe a lot of the time, but it absolutely has taken a back seat to somber bedroom pop. Which I very much enjoy but I think is a genre that very much relies on (very personal) writing that maybe doesn't always lend itself to the mainstream and so we kind of end up with a lot of half-assed whisper songs that don't actually communicate anything unique other than I Am Sad. And diversity is the spice of life so.... Bring the divas back! I also wonder how much of the diva decline correlates with the increased need for "authenticity" – many pop divas were intentionally mysterious and that's something that many don't look for in a musical artist anymore because of the focus on the lyricism.

I have a bit of a musical inquiry:

My friend said Bad Love is outdated, came out too late, he would like it if it came out a few years earlier. Madonna (Luna), to you, felt a little outdated, but still fun.

What makes a song outdated if it's purposefully retro, as Bad Love demonstrates? What about the composition of Madonna makes that one outdated, bc I thought it felt a lil' fresh, if a bit strange.

with pop music whether u like a song or not and whether u think it's fresh or outdated is in the immediate indescribable feeling u get from the overall sound, usually an opinion formed in the first 3 seconds of the song. but this split second feeling is evoked by the accumulation of so many individual choices that the writers producers composers and artists of the song made on purpose to go for a certain feeling and all of that is informed by trends. bad love by key and madonna by luna are actually pretty similar because they're both from second gen sm groups famous for talent and they're both retro tracks but both of them were making personal statements and weren't prompted by the trend to make the retro song. for luna she left sm and this is her first music release in years and she said she didn't almost consider herself a singer anymore but was moved to make music again by this song demo. and for key he's been dreaming of this retro space concept for 14 years because it's full of everything he loves and that when he heard this demo he had to make it his. so the original composers were both influenced by the retro trend but luna made it a personal statement and key already had his own idea of what retro sounds like and found the song that fit that for him.

i love luna and i love the song madonna and i'm extremely happy that she's back and the sound sounds very true to herself which is rooted in 2000s/early 2010s western pop and second to third gen kpop. and it's one of those self-confidence be yourself songs and she's so talented that the cheesiness of it all becomes a benefit to it, it's full of energy and feeling even as i'm a little cringe at it. luna is a pop diva through and through and the opening of madonna is 2000s pop diva style, piano and guitar strums and dramatic belted opening. and then the beat drops and we're in second gen kpop/late 2000s western pop. the melodic topline for the verse is monotone sing talking like snsd or boa or idk kara would've done that in 2010 esp the way the tone goes up at the end of the lines. and the prechorus is these pop diva swelling harmonies that end a little too soon and the chorus is a big western singalong type tune. catchy and kinda emotional but the chord progression is extremely basic and the synths aren't anything special they're not even particularly retro it's the standard kpop "90s drumtrack" that makes it a retro song. also the slang is a little outdated as well and "on fleek" is both cringey and a little racist. the whole song is a 50/50 mix of early 2010s american pop and 2010s kpop. the gorgeous rnb and acapella style backing vocals she layers is the best part of the song. it could've been the "madonna madonna madonna" voice sample(?) in the beat but the lyric writing for that postchorus is a little grating to me. there's a sparkling classic feeling and talent oozing from it because it's a good song and it's luna but it's obviously way lower budget than an sm soloist would be from lyric writing to mv to production and no one involved is super on trend or trying to be cutting edge, luna did what she wanted to do and she did it very well.

on the other hand, ur friend can fucking fight me bad love is a masterpiece. key is a top sm star approaching unprecedented heights in his career both as a musician with shinee's huge post-hiatus cb promotions and his variety career. he's extremely industry savvy with keen and specific taste and always has been, and he micromanaged the fuck out of this cb to make it as authentic to himself and his own taste as possible and the result is a timeless 80s inspired pop track like hologram and power. it literally feels like all these kpop groups have been playing at retro with a superficial retro gimmick in the songs like the 90s drumtrack and vaguely 80s synths but bad love feels like it just dropped in an alternate universe 80s mtv like the synths are REAL 80s the drumtrack is REAL 80s the production is slick and polished and sophisticated the song is crazy ambitious and pulled off exceptionally well. i've seen a lot of korean people talk about how luxurious and sophisticated and skillful the whole thing feels, especially the lyric writing. the alien/spaceships sounding synths are SO tasteful and fitting and fun like every choice in this song was micromanaged by someone that's a genius at tracking trends but is choosing to abandon the need to follow them. the melodic topline is a work of art. the transitions are seamless. it's just perfectly made. and he's belting it like its a power ballad the whole time but with incredible diction and detail. it's not risky or experimental at all and it's also not at all a trendy kpop song it's just a thing of its own there is literally not a song that it occurs to compare it too but also it's not a weird or unexpected sound at all. it's not kpop it's not recent western pop it's genuinely an 80s style track from the chord progression to vocal style but with cutting edge synths and expert lyric writing like it's kenzie and adrian mckinnon it's obviously gonna be good.

Billie Dean Howard

Billie is first and foremost a lady. If she has beef with someone, she makes sure that she outwits her competition. Not like your ex qualified as actual competition to her. When you two ran into your ex at a party, Billie snaked her arm around your waist and pulled you close almost to protect you. They’d try to introduce themselves with a handshake, but Billie would completely ignore the gesture. She’s something along the lines of “Oh, that’s you. Yes, I have plenty knowledge about you to have a structured opinion.” When your ex would ask to talk to you privately, Billie wouldn’t hesitate to speak on your behalf, “Actually, Y/N can’t speak with you. We really must get going so we can speak to people who are worth our time. Good day... Whatever your name is.” As you two walked off, you’d tell Billie how bad ass she was and she’d make sure to press a kiss to your forehead. “Just wanted them to know that you’ve upgraded. It’s as simple as that.”

Lana Winters

Lana can be polite when she needs to be. This wasn’t one of those instances. You and Lana often shared cute cafe dates where she’d bounce writing ideas to you, and you’d work on your own stuff. It was a surprise that your ex had walked in that day and stopped directly at your table. Lana could see how uncomfortable you were to know who it was. She stopped them mid sentence as they tried to speak and simply said, “If you don’t leave within the next five seconds, I will place a restraining order on you without hesitation. I suggest you leave us be.” They would try to protest and Lana would simply stand to look them dead in the eye, “I don’t think you want to deal with the hell that will rain down upon you if you keep trying to push your luck. When you’d thank her for protecting you, she would reply with a wink “No one messes with my girl.” 

Cordelia Goode

Pissing Cordelia off was rare, but it was always on another level bc this bitch has literal magic to use against people. A simple date to the local greenhouse garden took an unexpected turn when you noticed your ex from across the way. You wouldn’t tell Cordelia why, but you just insisted that it was time to go. “What do you mean, honey? We just got here-” But then she’d look in the direction you had and would know immediately. She’d glance back to you with a wide smile. “Watch this.” she’d whisper to you before flicking her wrist in one sharp movement. A hose from beneath where your ex was standing erupted upward and completely soaked them. They quickly left angrily as the hose almost seemed to follow them out of the damn store and employees were trying to tackle it. The Supreme would smile when she’d see your smile and would shrug, “Problem solved. Now, help me pick out some flowers for the dining room.”

Bette and Dot Tattler 

Bette and Dot are complete opposites majority of the time. Dot was definitely much more confrontational than her sister. Though Bette became vicious when it came to your ex. You’d gone to their show to cheer them on and even went backstage to give them a bouquet of flowers when your ex showed up to tell the twins what a big fan they were of them. Bette would give them a wide smile and in a pretty southern drawl would reply, “Awe, that’s very sweet of ya since we’re most definitely not fans of you.” Your ex would be confused by those words as Dot’s lips pressed into a malicious grin. “My sister’s right. Besides, you can’t be a fan, I’ve never seen you at any other damn show. You’re here to prove a point but here’s the thing-”, Bette would finish her sister’s sentence, “We’re twice the lover you are and Y/N is much happier with us than she ever was with you!” They’d be a little flustered with such a callout, but Dot would fix it up right quick and say “Best be on your way now. And don’t come back.” 

Sally McKenna

THIS CRAZY BITCH does not hesitate. You two were just strolling the halls of the hotel when you saw your ex rolling in a luggage. Sally got a weird vibe from this one, and by looking at the expression on your face, she could tell something was wrong. You’d whisper to her that the person was your ex. She’d reply with, “You mean the one that hurt you?” You’d nod to confirm. That was a big mistake. One minute, her fingers were interlaced with yours, and then they were ripped away as she nearly ran at them. She’d start pushing them and would yell at the top of her lungs, “WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?” You’d try to stop her, but she’d keep going and would keep pushing them, “GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY DAMN HOTEL BEFORE I SEW YOU IN TO A FUCKING MATTRESS YOU PIECE OF HOT FUCKING GARBAGE!” The interaction would be so intense that your ex would sprint out of the hotel and never come back. This bitch doesn’t play around.  

Audrey Tindall

Audrey could be a bitch when she wanted to be. She was a diva after all. You’d come to an award show to watch Audrey win another acting award in which you were incredibly proud of her. You just hadn’t been expecting for your ex to pop out of nowhere during the afterparty. Audrey would be the bitch that would call security the moment she saw them, and when they would try to insult her, she’d reply with, “How does it feel then? To know that you let go of such a wonderful woman who ended up with someone rich and famous rather than with a lowlife such as yourself? Must sting a little, hm?” Then security would drag your ex away. Audrey would give you a wide smile and hook her arm around your own. “I think a drink sounds nice, don’t you, darling? I’m thinking a fruity cocktail would lift our spirits.”

Ally Mayfair-Richards

You knew how busy Ally was between her campaign and trying to run the restaurant all on her own, so you decided to drop her off a coffee and a donut before you went to run errands. When you walked in, you weren’t expecting to see your ex sitting at a table near the front. You tried to avoid them and immediately went to Ally’s office to calm yourself. Someone told Ally that you were there so naturally she went to her office to find you. “Hey, beautiful. Couldn’t keep away from me, could you-” But she stopped as she saw you hyperventilating. Immediately, she asked you what was wrong and you explained. In a full rage, Ally left the office and went straight to the table your ex was at. “Excuse me, I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” Your ex would try to protest, but Ally would cut them off, “You know exactly why you’re not welcome here. Get the hell out of my restaurant.” Your ex would be escorted out by the wait staff as Ally made her way back to her office to wrap you in a big hug to let you know that everything was alright. 

Wilhemina Venable 

The person you’d definitely wouldn’t wanna piss off is fucking Venable. That should be a given. Despite her cold hearted tendencies, she was the most deadly when someone tried to hurt someone she loved. Leisurely strolls throughout the local art museum were a usual date for the two of you. Most of the time it was peaceful. This time happened to be different, for you quite literally bumped into your ex on accident. They immediately introduced themselves to Mina, though she wasn’t phased whatsoever. She knew exactly who they were. She’d push you to stand behind her as she towered over your ex. “How dare you hurt her in such a way. And now you introduce yourself to me acting as if I wouldn’t know the turmoil you have caused? she  went  to  the  best  private  schools  in  calabasas   and  spent  the  majority  of  her  childhood  playing  dress up  in  her  mother’s  expensive  clothing  and  jewelry  collections.

wild child: muse a is sent to a horrific private boarding school. no phone, no laptop. it’s like being back in the 17th century. muse a is a wild child, always has been, and they refused to be disciplined. they need a way out of this school and fast- and no better solution comes then muse b.. the principals child that comes to visit on weekends and is loved by all, and extremely good looking. the plan is easy, get muse b’s attention, make them fall for muse a and get caught by the principal and get out of this school. but then those pesky real feelings start to get in the way, and what started as a way to leave, has started to turn into a reason to stay.

general: yuanjun is the type that is pretty easily starstruck, especially as a younger performer in and industry that boasts many big success stories and talented individuals, there is no shortage of people for him to look up to. that being said, there is a special little list of people yuanjun looks up to especially much.

his former dance instructor: the only person that's not necesarily world famous on the list but yuanjun adores him just as much as the others. that being said, he is a decently well-known name within the dance industry in china, especially in the recent years known for working on the choreographies of some c-pop groups. before any of that however, he was yuanjun's dance teacher and the person yuanjun owes pretty much his entire career to. not only did the man always help yuanjun develop his skill from a young age onward, he also played a major role in getting yuanjun signed by bc. it was his dance instructor who recommended him (and a few other students) for an audition with the label. and after yuanjun passed said audition, it was his dance coach that helped convince his parents to let him go to korea and become a trainee. it's not hard to imagine why yuanjun is so fond of the man and he makes sure to stop by the dance studio every time he finds himself back in tianjin.

jolin tsai: yuanjun is a HUGE jolin tsai fan. and when i say huge, i mean it. hell, she might actually be on top of his list. he first discovered her after the release of her album dancing diva back in 2006 when he was only 7 years old and her album muse was the first cd he purchased by himself in 2012. he's continued to love her music up to this day and on his own accord, has either learned her choreographies or made those of his own to her music. especially medusa, play and womxnly being song he has danced to a lot over the years. not only does he look up to jolin tsai for her impressive music career, her being incredibly outspoken about lgbt rights has only fueled yuanjun's adoration for her. yuanjun has always been incredibly comfortable with his own sexuality, in part due to having a supportive family but growing up it was incredibly meaningful to see such a highly acclaimed figure speak out on the topic. maybe, one day, yuanjun hopes to be able to do the same thing too. but as long as he's with bc entertainment, that doesn't seem realistic just yet.

knight: in case anyone missed the memo yuanjun is the number one knight fanboy in famed, you can fight him on this. knight was his first k-pop group, getting to know them right at the time of their debut with mama and following them ever since. when his dance instructor asked him if he wanted to audition for bc entertainment, the first association yuanjun made was knight right off the bat, only fueling his enthusiasm to audition, the chinese version of mama was even part of his audition (which, he nailed, by the way). after joining bc, yuanjun most definitely spent the first few months incredibly starstruck by the members of knight, it truly was a good thing he didn't speak that much korean, he surely would've pestered them endlessly otherwise. in the more recent year, he's definitely mellowed out in his active fanboying over the group but they remain a group he holds a tremendous amount of respect for, something that never faltered, not even with their slews of scandals. in particular, he looks up to knight's dance line but that's just because yuanjun holds a special sort of adoration for fellow dancers, in general, he thinks all of knight are the coolest guys on the planet.

dimensions soloist 1: she only truly popped up on his radar in 2013, when yuanjun was already in korea and was familiarizing himself with the artists in the industry but when he did, he immediately fell in love with her latest release, 24 hours, just in time to become a fan right before full moon and boy, was yuanjun hooked right away. he adores her bold confidence, how she has embraced her sexuality regardless of what the general publics thinks of that. also, her music is just really good, sue him. whenever she has a comeback, charmings are eagerly awaiting yuanjun to do a cover of it and well, who is he to deny his beloved fans anything? bc might be hesitant to let him upload proper dance covers of hers but it's not like they can stop him when he decides to go for it anyway during a livestream from the practice rooms.

Troy & gabriella break up after like a month in college. Gabriella is around people smarter than her for the first time in her life & she’s really struggling & he doesn’t understand what she’s going thru & she realizes that he’s not that empathetic & bad at communicating. She’s single for like a year just adjusting to college & making new friends & figuring out who she is after hs & also not putting her entire identity in her intelligence. She tries out for theater & they’re like “you’re not that good at singing” & she’s like “never mind” bc she liked it because it was with her friends in the first place. She finds community elsewhere & eventually is in a more fulfilling & communicative & mature relationship

Troy is having a lot of trouble bc being a student athlete isn’t enough at FUCKING BERKELEY!!! And he’s having trouble at school. He also isn’t getting lead roles in the theater program bc it’s like. A hobby as opposed to his major/career path. He has to learn to like things without being the best at them & also communicate w people better. He’s no longer super special and the focal point of everything. He immediately tries to rebound by getting a new gf & she realizes right away that he just wants her to love him and pay attention to him and solve his problems and is like “fuck that dude go to therapy”. He goes to the school therapist which sucks but he finds a good therapist & like. Improves as a person lol. He has to think more abt the experiences of others and not need to have everyone love him all the time. He gets a dog -- good for him bc he has to be responsible for the life of something else but also dogs are very affectionate

Sharpay goes to UA & at first loves it bc she’s the star but then is super underwhelmed & depressed. She talks to Ryan and he’s like “you know you can just transfer” and she’s like “wow i’m so smart i’ll just transfer”. After like a semester she transfers to a different school with a good theater program (not Juliard tho). She has a good mentor figure who’s a prof who’s like “your ambition and drive are good things actually especially bc ur a woman and will be told that ur awful & bossy for standing up for yourself.” she makes her first real friend other than her brother (i am So sad) in a theater class-- not someone who worships her but like an actual human connection. Specifically a girl who she respects & doesn’t feel she has to compete with. She has a learning moment when her friend gets the lead role and Sharpay is genuinely proud of her and she realizes she wouldn’t have been suited to that part and that she doesn’t have to be the center of attention all the time. She learns to derive self worth from her love of theater instead of from everyone validating her. Also her friend is goth & tells her that all the pink she wears is bad. They both initially loved the theater bc they wanted to be accepted but learn together that they can just find worth in each other and themselves and their work. Also at one point Sharpay starts dating someone and gets really annoying and her friend is like “you’re being annoying” and they get in a fight and Sharpay is like “i don’t even like him that much but i feel like i have to be in a huge romance relationship (bc of troy and gabriella but also Society)” and this eventually leads to her realizing that she’s a lesbian and also that she has an unhealthy view of relatioships. She goes to therapy (it takes her a really long time to go but once she realizes she gets to talk abt herself she is more willing). Important that she does not date her friend (her emotional support system) but she does eventually get a gf. It takes her a long time to figure out how to be a good girlfriend and that her professional ambitions are different than her personal ambitions (she’s used to treating her relationships like a business instead of a two-sided thing where there needs to be emotional connection and both people being like vulnerable w each other)

Her and Ryan having space from each other where he can shine by himself and she feels like she doesn’t have to upstage him all the time. He feels for a long time that he can’t rely on her bc she’s a mess but eventually he texts her like 16 times in a row abt a person in his program he’s really annoyed at and she’s like “oh my god he’s ruining your show you Have to talk to the director!!!!” and it’s really helpful to just talk it out w her even if he doesn’t take her advice. It’s helpful for him to realize that it is a problem and he’s not overreacting but also that he should not take things to the extremes that Sharpay does lol. He should not poison this person. They eventually fall into a good & more balanced sibling relationship where they can rely on each other for a certain subset of things but they aren’t the only people in each others’ lives

Ryan meets other gay guys at Juliard who tell him that his hats are bad and show him how to dress not like an idiot. They’re like “it’s ok buddy. I know you were the only out guy at your high school but you don’t need to do that”. He’ll like. Do fine in college! He’s like fairly confident in his abilities and identity & good at like. Balancing career & personal life. He’s fine enough at school and doing well in his theater things. He’s charismatic and makes more good friends. He “formally comes out” to his parents in like a big thing. He choreographs it and makes Kelsey write him a song to sing. His parents are like “well we knew that but did you have to make it this much of a thing” and he’s like “yes”. His mom is generally more accepting than his dad and his dad is like “please don’t talk about this to the people at the country club” and he’s like “i… wasn’t? I don’t know these people. They’re your friends”

After college Ryan gets famous before Sharpay does and generally has a good thing going wrt doing choreography for “really important things” (he isn’t public facing)-- he’s good at choreo and also good at working with divas (thanks Sharpay i love u). He gets Sharpay a good role in a thing but he makes a big deal like “I got you an audition i didn’t get u the part u did it all yourself :)” but he totally got her the part lol in that he recommended her. She does a rlly good job tho (obvs) and does well in the spotlight bc she;s actually like. Hardworking and driven and good at musical theater. Her Big Break is in like a movie adaptation of a musical. She’s Glinda when they finally make a Wicked movie. The choreography is really good bc Ryan does it

Taylor tries to become a politician but slowly realizes that her passion for being an activist doesn’t super align with that and figures out that she wants to enact social change without like. Being a part of the system. She has a youtube channel where she talks about social issues and wears her stupid sweater vests & ties. Also she dates someone who likes women. Before she was invested in the public-facing aspect of the relationship and she learns what it means to actually have private moments of caring & how to not follow a stereotypical relationship and instead to do like. What she actually wants to. She’s bi and she dates a woman and enjoys not having societal expectations wrt how relationships are supposed to go. She dates a guy and realizes that a m/f relationship also doesn’t have to conform to societal expectations. Both are super important experiences for her even if neither are “endgame” (i love u matty)

Chad is heartbroken after Troy goes to a different school but tries to hide it/is in denial. He kind of lashes out at people who want to make friends with him and goes into a depression spiral. He eventually snaps out of it when Sharpay (who is still going to UA at this point) is like “what’s your problem?? Anyway i started going to therapy and it helped actually. Toodles!” and he’s like “what the fuck just happened” but he makes an appointment. The first session he’s like “hwatever this is stupid idk why i’m here. Whatever” and the therapist is like “yeah. Okay.” but he eventually opens up and then like. Learns to see himself as not part of a friendship or group/team and see himself as an individual. He gets over Troy, which takes him a while but he does it & we’re proud of him <3 it also takes a while to make friends who he can be emotionally vulnerable around bc he’s never really had that type of relationship before (bc he and troy are very guys being dudes & he like. Wasn’t super close w Taylor as they were p much just a relationship for show). He makes friends w both some guys and girls who aren’t all on the basketball team and has friends from lots of different places. This process takes him like. All of college.

Chad doesn’t date anyone in college and afterwards it’s super awkward bc it’s like the first time he’s actually dating someone. He ran into Ryan and they have a talk where Ryan’s like “you could’ve been my first love but you were never really emotionally available bc u were in love w a straight guy and also not confident in the fact that u are gay. Like that summer was fun but it wasn’t real” and chad is like “oh”. Ryan was like in a serious relationship at that point but didn’t mention it bc he didn’t want to feel like he was rubbing it in lol. And then Chad thinks about things. This is like during a Thanksgiving break while still in college. Chad eventually dates a guy who understands how it’s like. Hard to be gay and figuring out relationships and stuff at different life stages.

Kelsey gets negative feedback for the first time and freaks out but eventually learns that a prof who only gives positive feedback when she deserves it is good actually. She incorporates criticism and starts to write songs that don’t suck. She continues to wear awful outfits. She has a nice girlfriend who also wears awful outfits. They are an awful annoying couple but they’re happy. They do annoying theater kid things

Ms Darbus realizes that it’s bad to force her students to completely write & choreograph their own shows and stops pouring her entire life into high school theater and fixes her problems with her “legal domestic partner” whom she was feuding with

Zeke realizes that he likes Sharpay in the same way he likes celebrities and that isn’t a crush. He makes plenty of friends in college bc everyone loves a guy who brings baked goods to places. He continues doing basketball & baking as hobbies but neither is a career & he finds passion elsewhere. He loves doing whatever he’s currently doing but doesn’t have like a Thing he wants to do forever and it takes him a while to find a forever career. He ends up teaching a variety of classes at community college and is happy doing that but also he might not do that forever. He comes to terms with his “contentment w the transience of life” and is like “if i’m happy doing what i’m doing now then that’s good enough for now”. He serves as a good contrast to all of the super driven people who know exactly where they want to be (gabriella, sharpay, ryan)

1) A weirdly meta JB AU that I can't seem to get out of my head no matter how much I try, so I guess I'll just share it with the world. J and C are famous actors, and despite C's diva attitude leading many ppl to guess she only gets roles bc she's Tywin's daughter and J seems to like working with her for some reason, everybody agrees J is actually good. The fact that he does his own stunts and can even ride and fence makes him especially suited to be the main lead in period and fantasy works.

2) Everything goes well until one day, right when he's at the height of his fame, J loses a hand in an incident on set. Between the shock and sadness of the event, the media endlessly gossiping abt it, and the producers being unsure if he’s still fit to play the roles they usually cast him in even after he's recovered, the whole situation makes him feel so sick that he suddenly chooses to drop acting. He also effectively disappears from the public eye for a pretty long while.3) Ofc, that's when C drops J and also their super secret affair, and effectively disappears from his life along with their children. After all, they can’t do their glossy “star siblings!! talent runs in the family!!” photoshoots to boost her fame anymore, now, can they? And even if C wouldn't admit it to save her life, the ppl in showbiz who are in the know Do Not Want to work with her if J is not on set, too, trying to keep her temper in check and generally doing damage control.4) So, while C tries to latch on to her ex-husband Robert or to Rhaegar or Lancel or whoever else, J finds unexpected help and comfort (and then something more...) in B, a young and inexperienced but very talented actress who worked with him on his last project and feels what happened was to him terrible but J should have more options than just choosing between letting everybody treat him like shit or dropping everything he used to love and, deep down, clearly still loves.5) B is currently working her ass off, one small role right after another, to make a breakthrough despite her very unconventional looks. J falls in love with her determination and willpower, and in the end, he decides to make his comeback… by writing a play that’s a actually thinly-veiled account of his story with B. Ofc, he will star in it alongside B, who will finally receive the recognition and appreciation she deserves. This may or may not be have been inspired by NCW's play. *cough*

the fallen angels - good omens fic part 1?

idk what this is really. i wrote this when i was really really sick and kinda in a daze bc i wanted a different zira and crowley fic that involved crowley being a famous rockstar. i kinda wanna write more but i’m also writing so many other novels rn. tell me what u think tho and we’ll see if i should continue w this shit.

The two of them had been friends. The best of friends, actually- completely inseparable. So close to one another it was rumored that they may in fact be more than friends (which shows a mark of a true friendship). And it was shocking that they were friends. Since on the outside- they appeared to have nothing in common. One liked dressing in white, beige or tartan and reading books and eating food. The other liked black and gardening and Queen and when the time came- speeding in his father’s old beat up car. They had nearly nothing in common, looking from the outside. But if you got to know each of them well and how their bond worked, it really did make sense. And they really genuinely belonged with each other.

However what was more surprising was their fall out. The one that occurred on the first week of summer holiday before their departure to uni. The one that shook up both of their worlds and ultimately caused them to stop talking with one another. Over something so stupid. 

So Stupid.

But neither of them had the pride to talk to the other so they carried on. As if their bond never happened. As if they didn’t once mean the world to each other. As if they didn’t spend a decent time of the day, each, thinking about all of the what if’s. What if we remain friends? How would my life differ? What if I never knew him in the first place? Well, wouldn’t that be a relief?

What if there was no silence between us?

Aziraphale was running a bookshop in Soho, 7 years after he had a falling out with whom he thought was his best friend. Now, the books he was selling had little importance to him, really- all were modern and/or not much of his taste, per say. All of his important books were stored safely away in his flat above the shop- first editions passed down through generations in his family of classics, prophet books and such. Whatever book he could get his hands on from his ancestors’ collection was considered a pot of gold to him- and better yet, he had a few that were signed. More or less, he loved the books probably more than anything.

“Have you gotten tickets yet?” a voice in the corner of Aziraphale’s store asked to another customer, now.

“Of course I have, long ago. I wouldn’t have been able to get good seats if I waited ‘til the week before the concert. I’m surprised it’s not sold out, at this point,” the other customer commented.

Aziraphale looked up and watched as the first girl spoke sighed, looking at a book that was on display.

“You’re so lucky. You’ve got tickets in the pit, correct?” she asked.

“Obviously.”

“Oh please get as close to the stage as possible. Tell me what Crowley’s like up close,” the first voice said, dreamily.

That perked up Aziraphale’s attention even more so. They were talking about him and his band. 

“You twat,” said the second customer, swatting the other’s arm. “He’s gay and you know that.”

“Yes, but can you blame me? He’s one hell of a man.”

Aziraphale had tried to keep his attention on the book he was reading behind the counter. But how could he? Once Crowley trickled into his brain, there was almost always no hope in getting him out until he slept on it. Because little did they know, that the fussy man behind the counter knows in person that Crowley is one hell of a man. Or- well- at least, was. He only knew of him personally as an adolescent- now he was a man and tainted by fame. And Aziraphale knew for a fact that fame changed people.

“He’s rumored to have a boyfriend too, now,” the second voice exclaimed. “The paps caught him snogging some bloke not too long ago.”

That was new information too Aziraphale. And quite frankly, new information he did not care for. He never kept up with Crowley because even though his old best friend’s life was so conveniently displayed online, it would hurt a lot to see what he was up to. All he knew about him now was through gossip and accidents. Seeing his picture on the front of a magazine as he passed a newsstand on the street. Hearing his voice on the radio when he went into shops. Passing by teenage girls that were so head over heels in love with the man despite him being openly gay. Any moment that acknowledged Crowley’s existence was hell to Aziraphale. It made him wonder if Crowley was doing this to him on purpose. The whole becoming famous thing so Aziraphale could never forget. It was very Crowley of him to do such a thing- being the prankster and drama queen he was as a teenager. 

But it really shouldn’t have surprised Aziraphale that he was caught with someone like it did. Of course he was with someone else. Just look at him! Everyone desired him and that was no secret!

“Lucky lad, then. Well, I hope you have a great time. Get lots of videos for me.”

And just like that the conversation was over and shifted to a book synopsis they thought was funny. But Crowley was still haunting Aziraphale’s mind. What if, what if, what if?

Crowley’s band primarily had four members including himself. If you excluded background vocalists that went on tours with them.

There was Robin, Cleo and Lorchan alongside him that made up The Fallen Angels. A band with strong Queen influence, strong sixties influence while keeping up with modern alternative music’s flare. It was a recipe to make teenage girls go crazy- especially if the singer was so damned attractive.

But the four of them were all astonishingly attractive in unconventional ways. Robin had their eye catching fashion tastes. Cleo had her crazy hair. Lorchan was the cutest cinnamon roll. Crowley had nice hair and a nice voice.

But what people found hard to believe was the fact that they were genuinely normal. Sure, they lived the rockstar life and got wasted at parties after performing but they also spent nights drinking alone with each other in hotel rooms, quite literally playing a round of Go Fish (which Crowley tolerated despite somehow being awful at it) or Old Maid (Crowley’s personal favorite card game).

And that was what they were doing in Dublin, their last concert before the final show in London- which was their hometown. Also, the town where his Aziraphale lived who could show up and be there at the concert without him even knowing.

“Oi! Anthony, love, you are out!” Cleo exclaimed.

Crowley rolled his eyes at her- she had proven herself time and time again that she was the master of Go Fish,

If anything, at least he wasn’t alone without Aziraphale. He had his band, Who did love him even if he was a difficult blasted diva at times. They really did have each other’s backs.

Cleo won that game. Then they played a round of Old Maid.

Lorchan won that time.
