barbatos' happiness revolves around fulfilling his duties as butler/subordinate, but also making sure he stays sane long enough to ensure that the instability and semi unpredictability of time itself doesn't prevent diavolo's wishes from coming true

Okay so it most likely won’t happen, I’m sure, BUT I can’t help but imagine how protective Casey might be over Viola-chan…

He’s heard about her, in his future, and I feel like future Mikey probably told young Casey little rare whispered stories about Viola-chan when young Casey was curious about her and couldn’t ask any of his other family. With Mikey being probably the most emotionally stable one. So Viola-chan is sort of this beloved character in his childhood that finally comes to life. (Maybe idk this is just theory, I know nothing)

And then he finally meets her and she’s so kind, and nurturing, and everything he’s heard about her. Like a real connection to his future family- if that makes sense? Because everyone else is young and definitely not like his future family, but his image of her isn’t warped by knowing a different version of her. This is the one and only Viola-chan for him.

And I can totally see another blowup between him and Leo- kind of like what we saw in the movie. Casey basically being like ‘my sensei would never’. And mannnn. Just another blow at poor Leo, who already feels like he has so much to make up for. Cause not only are his brothers permanently damaged by him (unintentionally) letting the Krang invasion happen, he is still hurting his family (still unintentionally). Being too absorbed in his own ideas to see the bigger picture. Again…

But yeah, I just really wanna see Casey go feral on one or both of the twins cause how dare they hurt Viola-chan like that >:(

in symphony, casey has such a strong sense of community, of we take care of everyone that's the opposite of leo's mantra of family is the most important thing in the world in such a manner that you know they clash on it.

even once leo gets to a place where for him, viola-chan is family, the damage has already been done for the viola-chan/leo friendship, yes; but also such that the casey/leo clash is now inevitable. like. even if he makes up for it, leo hurt her, and no matter what the reason, that's going to upset casey (who would be upset if it were anyone doing it to anyone, but especially for someone he respects/cares for/idolizes doing it to someone else he respects/cares for/idolizes).

as for casey and donnie, well. i shan't touch that one here. i tried but i keep spoiling things, so. i'll just promise that you'll get to see some cool things in that camp. :D

Gray Wing's got me thinking for the longest time: how are pronouns, specifically neopronouns, translated and spoken in Clanmew? Do Clan cats, when invoking/talking about xem, use xeir pronouns correctly or default to he/him or something more "normal"?

On a more general matter, how common is it for modern Clan cats to use neopronouns? Do you think it's something they picked up from a kittypet in Chelford and they were like "whaaaat lmao that's kinda neat" lol bc I kinda like that idea. Sorry I'm rambling I'm just really really happy abt the neopronoun rep :'3

Oh Clanmew doesn't have gendered pronouns at all! There are eight pronouns, entirely based on threat level. There aren't any neopronouns in Clanmew because the use of these pronouns is constantly reaffirming the relationship between two cats, or signalling some sort of meaningful shift based on context.

Format: THEY/YOU/INCLUSIVE WE/EXCLUSIVE WE

Wi/Wees/Weep/Wik (Babies, prey, things that pose absolutely no threat to you)

Nya/Nyams/Nyap/Nyamsk (Family; Things you do not harm by choice.)

Pyrr/Pyrrs/Pyrrp/Pyrrsk (Honorably less dangerous; a Cleric, an exhausted warrior, helpful objects)

Urr/Urrs/Urrp/Urrsk (Equal footing of a Clanmate, things on your level. Briarlight refers to her mobility device with this pronoun as an extension of herself. ONLY USED FOR THE SAME CLAN.)

Ar/Ars/Arp/Arsk (Cat who is above you in the same Clan; person who outranks you significantly. Your mentor while you're training, the deputy, your own leader. Has a sarcastic air of "your highness" when used on those of similar rank.)

Rarr/Rarrs/Rarrp/Rarrsk (Honorable outsider; Clan cats of other Clans. Used to correct overfriendliness, friends of other Clans will sometimes find excuses to use other pronouns, though it can be frowned upon. Used for mildly dangerous prey like some ducks and gray squirrels. NEVER used on Clanmates without insult.)

Mwrr/Mwrrs/Mwrrp/Mwrrsk (Rogues, very dangerous animals. Actively aggressive and acts without honor; a MASSIVE insult used on any Clan cat.)

Ssar/Ssars/Ssarp/Ssarsk (NATURAL DISASTERS AND STARCLAN. Unpredictable, dangerous, unstoppable. For the leaders of other Clans or used as a very high compliment to another Clan's deputy or high-ranking warrior, but if overused could be seen as cowardly.)

So to use a neopronoun in Clanmew would be seen as very 'evasive' at best and rude at worst. You'd be bypassing a big part of their language and culture by not making your relationship and feelings towards that person clear to your conversation partner. It's very different from English where pronouns are just about gender!

There are three accepted genders in Clan Culture, Molly, Tom, and Gib. Gibs I refer to with xe/canon pronouns; canon just when it's less confusing. Blackstar for example is actually a gib in BB, so he's He/They/Xey.

(Queer cats still exist though, Dustpelt is an example of a GNC cat, Twigbranch is agender, Finleap is multigender, but Clan cats have a trinary gender system)

When the character has no canon gender though it's instant Gib and they're They/xe. Billowcloud is an example of that.

Gray Wing gets Xe pretty exclusively in my writing though for a few reasons, 1. Xe is the "archetype" of the roles associated with being a Gib and I want to emphasize this as the Patron of Wisdom, 2. The singular nonbinary pronoun is super super helpful with the fact Gray Wing has a ton of "talking to a group/on behalf of a group" scenes, it helps distinguish Xem from Them.

Types of Magical cats

When watching cats the musical, it's clear to see that some cats are more magically gifted than others, but honestly I think alot more cats have magic (or at the very least the fun potential of magic) so heres a post depicting each type of magic cat!!

Terpsichorean powers!

Now every cat has this! Terpsichorean means power of dance, and each year the cats reserve to use for the jellicles to use at the jellicles ball!

Basically it just means they can all dance together and vibe in sync without having to do months of practice plus no fear of messing up!!

The Fantastical Cat!

Mistoffelees (the most obvious magical cat of the jellicles) is a fantastical cat! His magic is powerful and unpredictable. Being able to do small things like manipulate lights and create sparkles, to some mid level stuff like changing his appearance and being able to project his voice into other places, like outside or down the hall, to even bigger things like teleportation (both himself and others) as well as sometimes even creating storms!!

His biggest trick he had ever done (before saving old Deuteronomy) was when he helped save 7 kittens by teleporting them threw an old hat out from under some junk that had collapsed around them!!

Mistos magic (like everyone elses) is inhanced by dancing and music, which helps because it really adds to his love to show off while performing! (The sparkles and lightning really help adding some fun piazza to the show!)

His one main drawback however is over use of his powers is incredibly draining, and can often lead him to sleep for multiple days after big stunts! (Que tugger fireman carrying him back to his den after the ball where he saved old doot!) His hands also have a permanent tingling sensation aswell!

Mistos magic also very similar to his fathers who was also a fantastical cat!

The Mystery Cat!

Macavity is a mystery cat! Now his powers is sort of difficult to distinguish, its most similar to Mistoffelees but alot more controlled and violent. His magic is centred on being able to trick people and stop people from tracing his crimes back to himself.

His levitation (aka glorified hovering let's be real) to stop others to follow his paw prints. Fire means ge can burn evidence. Teleportation to get away. Hypnosis to create an alibi (bc Macavity wasnt there). And finally other little forms of tricks and trickery to cause mayhem similar to mistos powers!

Now Macavitys drawback is arguably the opposite to Mistoffelees. Whereas misto becomes physically drained to the point of needing to sleep for long periods, Mac's powers force him to stay awake. The more he uses his Magic, the longer he is essentially kept from being able to sleep. (Hes always wide awake)

Now depending on the story, Macavity is either actively seeking out the manic effect on his body, willingly choosing to force himself into these periods of unrest just to use his powers for chaos and reveling in its distruction, OR his powers THEMSELVES are what have lead to his life of crime, slowly forcing him into insanity and unable to stop himself by never letting him sleep!

(Either option is great for angst!!)

The Physic Cats!

Now theres no denying that there is some sort of weird powers held by our beloved Tantomile and Coricopat! These twins are often shown to be the first to know/ react to anything new that was about to happen on stage (besides misto), literally sensing Old Deuteronomy before I comes on stage!

Now for there magic, I believe they both share similar types of physic abilities, my favourite hc for this is Tanto sees the past/ memories, and Cori can sense the future/ gets prophetic vision (ik I've seen @afairytalestray talk about similar hcs which I love them!!)

For Tantomile, her powers consist of being able to read peoples memories/ collect memories from objects and surroundings. Not everything is the easiest to read but specifically if it is or has interacted with water or earth it is usually stronger (water and earth hold memories) hence why it is somewhat easy to read other cats. With all of this knowledge, Tanto often ends up predicting alot of what will happen because she says history can repeat itself. However she can also get involuntary visions of peoples pasts.

Coricopat on the other hand can see the future. When hes not having visions, his powers usually manifest as being able to predict what will happen 5 - 10 seconds before something happens. However when it comes to his visions he would become prone for around a minute or two, which depending on where he is at the time, can end up being pretty dangerous, but the other cats look out for him.

When they use their powers together (especially during the ball) their powers meld together and they are able to use them to bolster themselves and others magic!!

The two also have a kinda physic link but whether or not that's bc they are magic or because they are twins is up to debate!

The Gumbie Cat!

Time for our first not quite obvious magical cat, Jennyanydots!! Now to me there is no way Jenny is not somewhat magically gifted, I mean she has 3 costume changes and a sick ass tap solo how is that not magic??

But on a serious note, I do strongly believe Jennyanydots has powers, even as they are not as obvious as her other magical counterparts!

She has the ability to speak with more animals than the average cat, (most cats can only really communicate with dogs/ understand humans) and Jenny can understand mice birds and most other creatures! She definitely uses this part of her powers to become a teacher to other animals!!

She also has the ability to shape shift her form between her 'Gumbie' form her 'Tap' form and her 'Normal' form!

The Knockabout Cats!

JERRIE AND TEAZER ARE MAGIC and you cant take this hc away from me!!!

Like Macavity, their magic isnt very specific, it's very much what they need in the moment to pull off their heists. They can switch places with eachother, disappear melt into shadows, minor teleportation of small objects and masters of disguise all that Jazz!!

Since it's not exactly a set 'set' of powers Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer dont have distinctive separations in their magic, but how it presents itself does allow each of their personalities to shine through!!!

Same as Tanto and Cori, they potentially have telepathy with eachother, whether or not its them being twins or their magic who knows???

Everlasting Blessed

Finally Old Deuteronomy and Jemima!! These two's magic is derived from the Everlasting Cats Blessing!!

Every cat who receives the Everlasting Cats blessing is destined to become the leader of their tribes and the one to pick the next Jellicle choice!

They also are granted with deep wisdom and are naturally gifted with being able to read people. Similarly, like the Physic twins, they can uses their magic to boost others magic!!

Finally! Other cats have small amounts of magic just not anything distinctive to be noticeable!!

I hc that both Victoria and Alonzo share a small part of Mistos magic that stems in enhancing theirTerpsichorean powers! And Munkustrap and Tugger have a mix of a sensitivity to both their father and Jems magic, as well as Macavitys magic!! But also the Terpsichorean powers to!!

Gus and Griz also had a strong connection to a more performance based magic but similarly it's just an off shoot of the Terpsichorean powers aswell!!

(And for people who also like my Oc content, Merlinite, Eglantine and Dylula are fantastical cat, Alibi and Admetus are Mystery cats, Mollycoddle and Magnolia are Gumbie cats, and Old Jillymonty and Dapple doo are everlasting blessed!!)

THE BEAR CHARACTERS’ ZODIAC SIGNS🐻

steaming hot takes with my (limited) knowledge of astrology. but this has been simmering in my brain for many days and i simply must speak my truth...(part 1/?) idk lmk if you want more bc i have a few thoughts!

carmy is an aquarius!!!! i know this to be true deep in my heart!! the passion, the drive, the focus, the intellect, it's all there. he's driven by his desire to be good, and to keep getting better. carmy knows what he wants and although he sometimes struggles with emotional intimacy, he's actually a really good communicator. he doesn't do small talk, but as we've seen, he's open and willing to discuss difficult topics and be vulnerable with the people he's close to. he is a stubborn believer in the people he cares about, and strongly values teamwork and his desire to make the world around him better.

i think sydney is a gemini she is such a summer girl to meeee!! i loved s2e03 bc we really got to glimpse into her creative thought process. it's fast-paced and fluid and innovative and strongly influenced by her surroundings. she has really vivid goals and dives fully into them, as we see her do in building the beef, but underneath it all i think she definitely gets flustered and struggles with self-doubt--what if her passion isn't enough to make things work? sydney's a little impulsive/impatient at times, but recovers quickly because, like carmy, she's a really strong communicator (i could go ON about sydcarmy &their signs' compatibility....but that's maybe for another time lol).

richie is a sagittarius. he just is. he's brash and extroverted and really driven by a desire to find his purpose, whether it be in his relationships or in his work (s2e07 my beloved)!!! richie's an entertainer and a people person and he's not afraid to take up a lot of space. part of this comes from his closeness to mikey, but he's a great storyteller and wants for people to hear him. but when he's upset, esp when arguing with carmy, he's very blunt and isn't afraid to hit him where it hurts. i think some of the other characters find him a bit unpredictable, and likely it's bc he's trying to unpack a lot of difficult emotions while battling against his own pride.

natalie is a libra and i love her for it. i think one of the most prominent things about nat is that she's always seeking for balance, for security, for things to be stable and good and okay (with the bear, with carmy, with her mother) she is a people pleaser!!!!!! which is probably her greatest strength as well as her greatest weakness--she really wants carmy to be okay, but the work she puts in clearly takes a toll on her. natalie can turn up the charm if it helps her get the job done, as we see her do with cicero. she's critical and focused and has a good eye, which makes her a great project manager (where would carmy and syd be without her)

Right now, 51! I think i started using ao3 back in college with rvb fic lol. I've since orphaned 2 fics so I guess there wouldve been 53.

Twst was kinda my comeback to wanting to write fics and has been my main inspiration for a lot of things and it's been the most fun i've had writing fics I think, and it's eventually what's gotten me to try to write my first multi chapter fic.

hmmm I do not write much angst, and even when I do it's more hurt/comfort, bc permasads make ME permasad. I think it was my rvb fic "forgotten" - which i always forget was my first fic uploaded to ao3 LOL, back in 2015. ironic that my first wasnt reflective of the tone i usually write for. i don't wanna reread it to check [even tho my fics from back then are WAY shorter] bc im scared to face how i wrote when i was fresh outta hs lol BUT if i remember correctly/based on the summary, it was a doc/donut fic and I think it was about how after doc had disappeared from the future cube or whatever in canon and no one knew he was gone, i wrote a scene of doc getting upset with donut bc Of All People Why Didnt You Notice I Thought I Meant Something To You 😔 kdlsjfkdlsj i think it ended with doc walking off and donut being SAD and idk maybe they broke up, idr if they were 'officially dating' in the context of that fic. but um hashtag docnut for life.

most all of my fics are happy endings with an exception of like one ^ or two lol. I don't know if i can quantify those!

not to my face if I do lol. I don't think enough people know about me to give a shit if i do stuff they dont like

nope!!!! i dont really like smut personally and it's not the kind of genre i have story ideas for.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

oooh ok well there was a dndads oakworthy thing I started like last year but pretty soon after I started it, we started seeing more of hermies forbidden other 'true' personality traits and i was like ruh roh this guy keeps pulling a fast one on me, i dont think the direction i had with this fic is fitting anymore. i had barely gotten anywhere with it and it wouldve been short anyway, but i think about what couldve been.... lololol and then for TWST umm. Hehe. Teehee even. Back during nanowrimo I used that as time to start 2 fics: kalim and the great relationship rescue, which is my current multichap fic about kalisil and jamiazu, it’s got about 3 chapters, and I’m still writing it. AND IM STILL GOING TO FINISH THAT ONE!!! but the OTHER one I started during that time and have NOT posted any of it yet was the stuff with my first twst oc, Char, and his place in my big caterella multiverse ideas lol. I’ve posted a bit about that story idea and done a lot of doodles and brianstorming for it, but I fear it would be too intimidatingly ambitious to stick to and I’m not sure writing one concrete fic is the right medium for it 🤔 plus I just don’t think many people would like it much LOL it would be very self indulgent and tapping into my soap opera brain. I feel nervous when I talk about it HAHDBFNTG so I’m not sure I could commit. But I still have what I wrote, and maybe I’ll figure out another way to go with it or maybe I’ll just wake up one day and say WHATEVER and write it anyway lol. I’ve gotten shyer again so we’ll see 🧍

16. What are your writing strengths?

umm. i do not know if it is a strength but i feel more light comedy and dialogue come more 'naturally' to me, but i do not know how well i actually can pull it off LOL also shorter, contained stories. Everything I write is a one shot, and I’m struggling on my recent attempt at a multiple chapter fic BDBFFBFNGD

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

hrhrnrngm more descriptive writing, i find im in the pitfalls of writing TOO MUCH dialogue. and i also feel like when i try to do more serious tone things it comes off as cringe or trying too hard kFDKLSHFLDSJ. no one's said that to me but yknow. fear and whatnot. also ending the story is. Hard. I feel like that’s always a weak part of my fics bc I sit there like WELL I WROTE ALL MY IDEAS HOW DO I WRAP THIS UP…. I worry my endings come off kind of half assed but I do my best lol 😔✌️

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

like are you asking if i would do it? or how i feel when it's done in fics i read? i dunno lol. i could maybe do spanish bc ive studied it a lot but i'd get nervous i think.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

on ao3 it was rvb bu teeeechnically back in my neoseeker forums days i was in there writing like, animal crossing or harvest moon or pokemon stuff. it was very bad bc i was like 10 years old LOL

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

ohoho ummmm. Well I always have fun writing jamiazu and I’ve written a LOT of those lol. I have a soft spot for The Comfort of Familiarity. That’s one of the ones hats taken me the longest to write because I was really trying hard to handle it with care, as it was a less light tone than I typically do and I was trying to explore the characters and their situation in a particular way that I really wanted to come across well with who reads it. It was hard, and I’m not sure I fully got there, but ultimately I did like it quite a a bit. on the flipside, one of my more recent fics and I think now my longest oneshot to date, Blue Raspberry Mango was VERY fun to write lol. That one’s a lot more like what I typically write, silly romcom style lmao. Cater and Idia goofing, characters bickering, friendship, me trying to sneak in as many side ships into the background for funsies, jamiazu is there, it was a good time. And that one started as a prompt suggestion which I feel like often times I end up struggling with and not delivering super well… but this one ran away from me and I had a blast lol. Idikei fixed me 😌✌️

I really liked you fae ideas for celtic servants. I was kinda playing with it in my head how Fionn, Diarmuid, and Cu each represent how people see the fae. Fionn represents the god like fae, the ones you pray to and who reward you for your service and are usually inhuman in a worshiping sense. Then you got Diarmuid who represents the alluring beauty that brings tragedy, something so beautiful and unique that all humans will be attracted to but few with survive the consequences of coveting. Finally we have Cú who is undoubtedly the wild unpredictable fae that does whatever is pleases whenever it pleases and is the least concerned with humanity as whole.

On that note what are some headcanons you have for any fae quirks the trio might have inherited?

I've talked a lot about their physical traits over the years [btw great job summarising what they all represent I'm surprised nobody's picked up on that part of my posting until now] but if it came down to some core Traits then definitely

Diarmuid: trickster at his core, the kind of guy who will do cartoon comedy shenanigans on you just for fun and then go 'haha anyways [snaps fingers] everything's back to normal now bye' and just never elaborate, and his loyalty of course. Many fae-human relationships only end badly bc of the humans fucking up the fae side of the equation is usually shown down-bad loyal and Dia is this with Fionn [and Cu my beloved OTP still]

Fionn: wanderlust and spontaneity. Something a lot of people forget about him is that Fionn likes travel and he likes adventure there are multiple stories in the fenian cycle that start just because he's suddenly itching to Go Somewhere or Do A Thing and just gathers everyone up to do so or, in the case of boyhood deeds, just leaves to pursue it himself

Cu: his connection to nature - he's both a force of nature himself, has a deep connection with horses [which is a very typical trait of the fae], CasterCu is literally a druid which is the most nature based class possible etc etc and more obviously his rage which is both a fae trait and a fomorian trait. Put 'em together you get Cu's infamous warp spasm fuckery lol

Irene hummed as she roller-skated away from the bemused-looking Heartslabyul trio, her fingers going down to her pocket to switch to the next song. Suddenly, she felt her body being tugged away and collided away another firm chest that she (embarrassingly enough) recognized upon the first touch.

"J-Jade?"

Jade Leech smirked, looking down at her to meet her bright turquoise eyes. An amused glint in his eyes made Irene slightly wary yet excited for whatever her beloved might unpredictably do next.

A well-manicured hand reached up to gently tug one of the earbuds from Irene's ears and popped it into his ears. Jade gently bopped his head to the tempo of the music, swaying rather awkwardly from side to side. But that didn't stop the butterflies from fluttering madly in Irene's stomach nor did it stop the bright blush blooming on her face.

Not even a minute later, Jade left to help grab a tray of food to serve and Irene was left standing in the middle of Cafe Amor, under the scrutiny of multiple eyes. A squeak left her eyes and she roller-skated away to grab another tray from Melody, who was unable to hide her laugh.

"Prince Charming, am I right?" Melody snickered, her red and blue eyes glittered in amusement.

She narrowly dodged a swat from a blushing Irene who didn't even grace her with a reply as she skated to serve the next table which was unfortunately the Pop Music Club. She prepared herself for the bombardment of comments, which sure enough, hit her like a freight truck.

"That was so cute!!"

"Totes!! I should have recorded it and put it on Magicam!!! #totallysingle #jealousofthem #socute #dancingduo!!"

"Ahh the love between youngsters is always nice to see."

"Guys, stop," Irene spluttered. A tug around her waist made her move backward and once again, she bumped into Jade who squeezed her waist tightly. She tilted her head again, her black hair falling into her face. "Jade?"

His hand came up to gently brush the strands of hair out of her face before he tugged her closer. He swayed her from side to side, mumbling the lyrics of the song under his breath but Irene could hear it as loud as day.

"I was enchanted to meet you~"

Irene closed her eyes and simply enjoyed the rocking motion that was strangely familiar and similar to the rocking motion of waves. She could smell Jade's scent as her face was dangerous close to his chest: the scent of the wilderness, the ocean mist, and expensive cologne.

Her peace was cut off with a loud: "JADE LEECH!"

They flew apart immediately, Irene's eyes widened and her face flushed while Jade was blinking in confusion. In unison, they whirled their heads to a huffing Azul who seemed as if he just ran all the way here.

"What in the name of the Sevens are you doing in Cafe Amor?!" He snapped out, walking in, and not-so-gently tugged Jade out of the cafe. "You're supposed to be at Mostro Lounge, damn it!"

Before he left, he locked eyes with Irene one last time and blew her a kiss. Irene's lips opened and closed in shock as she just stood in the middle of the cafe.

"W-What just happened?" She breathed out in confusion yet her heart beat twice- no, thrice at its usual speed.

Hi, anon! Your guess is as good as mine, Louis is unpredictable that way. I really loved the 2023 afhf setlist, it was perfect for a festival, the set was full of energy and i was hyped up the whole time! I doubt he'll have time to perform the full setlist though even when he's headlining (i've never been to a festival so i don't really know what the norm is in terms of the sets duration). I think from walls, kmm will be the only surviver 😂. And from fitf, i feel Louis already got rid of the slower songs on the album except for Saturdays (a crime in my opinion) so no chance we'll get ttwlg or common people or my beloved lucky again 😔. I think we can say goodbye to bigger than me in the festival era 😭 bc i don't think he'll play it. I feel like Waoyf is in danger too (he better not take it off the setlist though 🔪🔪) and so is Chicago and angels fly. Megamix is in danger as well but I feel Louis loves it too much to take it off the setlist and everyone deserves to hear all this time live at least once in their lives so don't you dare Louis. I think the greatest, face the music, ooms, Saturdays, silver tongues, holding onto heart ache and bty rock version are the ones that will for sure make it to the setlist and paradise, maybe. okay so, piarles or charlos. depending. writing piarles is easy and wholesome and just familiar and comfortable. charlos is... unpredictable, and layered in a different way, and can be deliciously wicked. its a challenging pairing to write, i mean they both are, but not in the same way, so it depends what kind of mood im in. also, im so hot for carlos i cant help myself 😳

as for german, i speak it and honestly? none of them. i dont know what kind of getman mick speaks but if its anything like michaels i dont want it, seb speaks like a peasant sometimes istg and he swallows half the words when he isnt trying, and nico.. see, i think the only one i think would have the patience to sit down and teach me is mick, and i think seb would have the least patience, but nico would be. hmm. i think the way hed express the impatience would actually make me learn it faster, bcs hed be a cunt about it in a way mick wouldnt, so my competitive instinct would kick in. also, nico speaks real nice german. :)

gender inverted tomshiv is so interesting because the BABY factor is so much more complicated and like you mentioned the underlying implications and reactions and power dynamics are a lot different. patrick seeing pregnancy as a power play especially if he really believes you when you first tell him because it IS a power play no matter what is wild!! it's real and you become parents and that's something only between the two of you but it's still the ultimate way you're bound to the family/company and the baby is still a symbol of those choices you've both made! and now you have to raise a child in this environment you've both fully given into and like kind of destroyed each other over even though you both know how much pain and pressure it causes on every level. you're each other's emotional crutch and i kind of think weirdly enough what you've done to each other would bring you closer together because over time all the hurt becomes shared hurt. it's comforting because in the end all you have is each other and you choose to share that because neither of you want to be alone and nobody else could possibly be there for you the way that your husband is and vice versa. where this dynamic goes post canon is really interesting to think about

the thing with patrick and nate!tashi and the control aspect makes so much sense because it also becomes part of your dynamic and to what you are to each other. like you both feel like shit afterwards. you know he cheated and that he didn't get what he thought he would out of it especially because he mostly just did it because he was getting scared of commitment and of the unpredictable nature of love and wanted to see how it would feel and how it would make you feel and react so then it becomes this sore spot later on. he loves you and doesn't want you to leave him or anything but he doesn't know how to channel his anxieties and fears and old habits elsewhere and it ends up turning into hurt for both of you ESPECIALLY on the wedding night when all you can think about is how your futures are permanently tied together.

this is getting real angsty but lack of communication in the marriage... missing the pre-marriage honesty and yearning for your own husband even though he's literally right there... you both feel like you're fighting for the other but the other isn't reciprocating except neither of you would even really know because talking means opening up a box of topics that you don't feel prepared to be honest about or to bring up again bc it still hurts... feeling shitty because you don't know if you can truly trust your spouse enough to talk openly as the complicated corporate warfare stuff progresses. just endless opportunities for brooding and sadness! the balance of love power status money and each other is truly not for the faint of heart and adding a baby into the mix? i’ve been thinking so much lately about how different but also similar the pregnancy ordeal would be for them since the genders are switched around. like i’m just imagining patrick having the “i should’ve had dogs” conversation with his mom that just seals the deal with him thinking that he’s never going to have kids. like obviously if he has children he will mess them up beyond compare. maybe he even has a moment where he comes to you in confidence and tells you about it and it’s devastating because after your period was late last week you took a test and well…

it just seems like it would be so difficult for both of you. for you, knowing that you actually do want children with patrick and knowing how he feels about family and his potential as a father and also being aware that your relationship is not currently in the best space….. but also that having his child will secure you (or at least your kid) in the family forever. no matter how many tashis or other women enter the picture, it won’t change the fact that you are his wife and the mother of his first born child! and you try not to frame it that way at first because a child is so innocent and pure and a blank slate that you shouldn’t project on before they’re even born… but the more betrayals that occur between the two of you and the further you start to drift, the more you have to face the reality that it’s going to seem like (and kinda be) a power play regardless.

and yes, you’re withholding the information. at first because it feels like terrible timing, but then it becomes somewhat of a power move as well. this whole time you’re thinking that you’re gonna pull this information out on patrick when he least expects it and finally get a leg up on him, but then it comes tumbling out. you really don’t mean to confess that you’re pregnant but the cats out of the bag—and the one time that it’s NOT supposed to be a power play, he asks you if it is. ouch.

i still need to ruminate on them as parents in my head. i do think that they would try to be better for the sake of their child. i do also think that they would crash and burn magnificently. but no matter how bad things get they will NEVER leave each other because they’re too emotionally dependent on one another. and i like how you said that their hurt eventually becomes shared hurt because i really think that it does!! no one can understand the other person like you do and no one can hurt you like you hurt each other. you and patrick truly match each other’s emotional freak.
