It's time for Vex's Mechs and Memes, where I take some of the lancer memes by @vexwerewolf and hit them with their intended tone of voice, that of LoadingReadyRun's character of Dave's Spokesman.

Moments after noticing that Vex made yet another Lancer meme, this time on a class of NPC instead of a mech, I decided "hey, this one might be fun to do, even if I don't technically have to since it's not one for the player mechs." It's the one ready to explode the moment it hears about a Sunzi; the Operator!

Thing is, this one also inspired to me to break from the usual voice and see how the second half would go if I just raged like the operator's actually doing in the second half of this meme.

The image I used for the art of the angry take's player was a sketch from @mcnostril for his webcomic Beach WZRD, which I gladly recommend.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy! If not, then maybe you'll enjoy one of the other ones I've done, or you could change pace entirely and try one of the things I've brought up, like the webcomic or LoadingReadyRun's various videos. I won't hold a grudge, I'm not the Operator.

Beach WZRD

What is it: Melody is excited for her first day as the Witch of the Beach, but the inexperienced witch is unprepared for the powerful and obnoxious wizard who wants to rule the beach for itself.

The Good: Excellent black-and-white art gives it a unique look among webcomics.

The Bad: The intended reading experience is as the eventual print compilations, meaning there are pages in this comedy comic that don’t have punchlines. The title character is annoying, which is the intent but still.

You should read it if: You’re interested in a high-energy comic for kids, and you prefer to archive binge.

The Golden Boar

What is it: In a magical world where mages battle monsters by summoning tumblr sexymen, young Mello gets stuck with DannyDevitomon as her partner. By the creator of Monster Pulse.

The Good: Interesting premise with a lot of potential. The comic seems to have Deeper Themes regarding sexual relationships, though it’s too early to judge on that front.

The Bad: Despite what the premise might have you believe, this is a bit of a slower comic without a lot of battles or wacky comedy (at least as of Chapter 4), being more about the characters.

You should read it if: You liked Monster Pulse, Digimon, Beastars, and The Odd Couple. Bit of a weird Venn Diagram there.

Where are you from?

Was born in Washington D.C. and then grew up mostly in Northern Virginia.

Describe your sound:

My sound is very eclectic. One song may sound like dancehall and the next may just be regular deep house or even have more of a pop vibe. Every track has a mixture of very organic classical sounds such as a string ensemble and very inorganic software synth sounds.

Tell us about your latest project:

The “Solstice Part 1” EP is a collection of songs that remind me of Summers I’ve had in the past. A lot of the songs may sound very different but they fit well together. The first few are very carefree and the middle track kind of captures that feeling of being out at the beach or at a day party in the summer and trying to talk to a girl that you’re really feeling. The next track is kind of about that end of the summer period where that fling is kind of coming to an end or way or another and you have mixed feelings about it. I think it’s the one that’s been received the most positively. I think people can really relate to it.

How did I get into music:

I actually used to write raps in high school. I used to stay after school with a few friends and record them in a vacant room.

I switched to production when I met a friend who was a producer in college . I decided to make EDM because I loved how free listening to it made me feel. I wanted to be able to create that feeling myself.

Where do I see my career in the next 5 years: I see myself constantly touring both nationally and internationally. I hope to be on the billboard hot 100 with most releases and have a few brand partnerships. I really want an H&M campaign actually. The thing I’m most excited for is the day I get to work with my musical idols.
