Chapter 3
Summary: After a Halloweenparty Y/N actually didn't want to got to, her life seems to be turned around. The reason is a very stubborn Supe that seems to have her in his visier. Is it just a coincidance or more?
Pairing: Soldier Boy/Ben x Reader
Word Count: 2016
Warnings: maybe slow burn?, some language (it's a given at this point)
A/N: And here we are again. Yup, I think we'll have a little slow burn in the beginning too. But it won't stay that long, I can promise you. 🤭 Also, I'm not gonna tell you that I changed directions for this story again. No, I don't. 😌 My brain is just not braining anymore with these two. 😂 Like always, all mistakes are mine.

"This is ridiculous! I bought it here last week, it's already broken and now I want a refund!"
In this very split second, Y/N had to take a deep breath to calm herself down. Why was she still doing this job anyway? Oh, yeah, because she needed the money.
"Ma'am, like I said, I need a receipt. I can't find this product in our system and just to be sure that everything is done correctly, I..."
"Can I talk to a manager?"
The woman seemed to have enough of this and was trying to be her best Karen at this point. But what she didn't know, was that Y/N had also enough of this.
After everything that happen while she had a break off work, she didn't feel herself anymore. Soldier Boy really went up with her into the aparment. Eventhough she did her best to not show it, it made her feel really uncomfortable. The tall man with the broad shoulders took up so much space, she was not used to that anymore. His neutral look on his face while he was taking in her home did not help. Not that it was important to her if he liked it or not.
Y/N had needed a drink after that day and the supe helped himself to one too. He also took out a small plastic bag with some white pills in it, but that was where she had to draw the line. He obviously did not like that at all, but she told him, that this was her apartment. Again, that didn't make it better and so they compromised to joints.
"If you would live in your own apartment and not here with me during this whole... charade you could take so many drugs you want." Y/N tried to lure him, with no success.
"Yeah, I would. But my... house... is not here in New York. And it's fucking clear that I'm not gonna move into the damn Vought Tower. This is doing just fine." a smirk deep on his face, knowing just very well what he was saying.
The rest of the evening was a mere blur. Mallory would be contacting her again in the next couple of days. She would get a second phone to only communicate with Mallory if needed and to get every further details in the next time. Soldier Boy would giving her the payment they agreed on, with the apparent thought in mind, that she could not continue her job at a certain point in this story. At first that scared her a little. But now, it sounded heavenly.
"I'm the manager here. And this is not the way our policy works. I'm sorry."
"Are you serious?" the woman asked in anger.
"You can call our customer service, if you want to. They will find another possibility to refund you."
"You're unbeliveable! I will NOT be treated like this! I'm a paying customer of this store!"
Y/N wanted to turn around to call for a co-worker to help, which made the woman only more furious. She was about to reach over the counter to grasp Y/N's hair or shoulder, but she didn't get far."
"I would think twice about that." a deep voice rumbled over their heads.
With surpries Y/N turned her head and looked right into the green eyes of her looming shadow. He was holding the wrist of "Karen" infront of her who too looked with incredulously up to the man next to her. Was it already time? She thought she still had another couple of days.
"Hello, darlin'." Soldier Boy drooled in his best manners and Y/N needed a second to comprehent.
"Hi! What... what are you doing here?"
Her co-workers appered and the customers in the store started to murmer. In the corner of her eyes she heared people asking if the man was really Soldier Boy. Others were slowly pulling out their phones, taking pictures or even making a video. Now she knew they had to be quick. Soldier Boy's face signalizing the same thing.
"I'm picking you up. Ready to go?"
"Yeah! Yeah, we... can go." she turned to the young woman next to her. "Stacey, can you take over? This... this is getting serious."
Stacey just nodded, already seeing what was happening in the store. "Don't worry. I'll cover for you. You only had one hour left anyway."
"Thank you. I will call tomorow."
Y/N grabed her purse and jacket and went around the counter. The supe let go of "Karen's" wrist who was still fuming and still not believing what was happening. With an heavy arm over her shoulder her now knew boyfriend escorted her out of the store.
"I think it would be better..." he whispered into her ear. "...if you start calling me Ben now."
Tumblr media
"... today around one o'clock. There are multiple sidings of Soldier Boy. Some pictures online went up for speculation until videos of him appeared. He was walking out of a store with a unknown woman by his side..."
The news of Soldier Boy being back went viral within minutes. The mayhem that followed was something Y/N would've not expected. She knew it would be crazy, but not that kind of crazy. People online started to argue with eachother if the pictures and videos were fake or not and the more Y/N stared at the screen, seeing herself on the side of the supe, she also tried to not believe it.
"Smile a little. There's no fucking going back now anyway." Ben chimed in.
"You think?"
To that, Ben just huffed. But he was right. This was it, now the world knew, that he was back. And that Y/N was a part of it. She had to sit down. The anxiety that started to creep up her spine was new. How would people react when they saw her on the street? How much would her life change? How big would the dangers be that surely laid ahead of her? Y/N couldn't imagine at the moment.
Her phone started to ring and the sudden sound startled her. Ben looked annoyed but didn't say anything, focusing back on her tv. When Y/N saw who the caller was she would've wished she could put it off. But she knew it was better to face it now than later.
"Hello Mum."
"Y/N? Are you ok?" The panic in her voice evident.
"Yes, Mum. I'm fine." Y/N tried to calm her down.
"Are you sure? I... I just saw the news and there were you. With this supe."
"Yeah, I know. I've seen it too."
"This... this is not real, right?"
Hearing the voice of her mother so full of worry and disbelieve she wished it would not be real. That all of this was just a cruel joke. But it was not. And she was sure it would break her mother's heart again.
"Daughter? Tell me that this is NOT real!"
"Mum, I..." she tried.
"No! I cannot believe this! Y/N... how could you?" The tears in her voice unmistakable.
"It's not that easy, Mum. I tried to stay out of it, but I didn't succeed, I quess." Y/N looked down on the floor, feeling really bad about all of this.
"Y/N, you should know better! After what happend to Jenny, this..." her voice broke completly and Y/N felt the tears build in her eyes too.
"I know, Mum. I have not forgotten about it. And I wish... I would have thought about this twice... but it all went so fast. I swear I never wanted this in the first place!"
The silence that followed was so loud and rang in Y/N's ears, that for a moment she thought her Mum had hung up on her. But a deep sigh proofed her wrong.
"Is it something serious?" Her small voice full of emotions.
"Mum..."
What was she supposed to answer now? The truth was not an option. It would only put her into more danger, than she probably already was in. But Y/N could not be to loose about the situation, since it was going to be something long term. She drew a glanze over her shoulder to the man sitting on her couch.
"Honestly? I don't know, Mum. But it feels like it."
And that wasn't even a lie. It was surreal, yeah, but it also felt serious. In more than one way. Because from now on Ben would be living here with her.
"I know, that I have no right to tell you what to do or how to live your life, but under these circumstances... Y/N, please. Be careful and take care of you! And whatever happens, you can come home to us. You know that, right?"
"I know, Mum. Thank you."
Hanging up was so hard to do. Giving up her last sliver of hope for her normal life felt so final. With a deep sigh she went over to the couch and sat down. On the screen infront of her were still pictures shown of her and Ben and the uneasiness did not leave her.
"Who's Jenny?" Ben asked all of a sudden.
"What?" Y/N returned with furrowed brows. "Were you listening in on me?"
Ben shrugged his shoulders. "Comes with the territory."
That upset her. "Okay, let's make one thing clear. I don't want you to eavesdrop on me!"
"Don't pee your fucking pantys. I can't do anything about it."
"But you could at least try! Don't make this any more difficult as it already is!"
"I liked you better, when you didn't talked to me..." Ben grumbled to himself.
"Oh, I'm so sorry that you don't like me anymore. Guess what? I don't care!"
And with that Y/N got up and stormed into her bedroom.
Tumblr media
With dread in her eyes, Ashley Barrett watched the screen in the Vought Headquartes. Seeing Soldier Boy flashing his smile to the woman by his side was not good. She could already feel her stress level rise with each second that passed by.
"Oh well. What do we have here."
Ashley's eyes widened in shock and slowly she turned around.
"Is that really him? Soldier Boy?" Homelander asked and Ashley, could only nod.
"Did I not tell you to report everything to me, Ashley?"
"Yes! Yes, you did. But I just saw it too. I did not had the time to..."
"It's okay!" Homlander interrupted and focused on the screens infront of him. "So, he really made it out..."
With a stoic face, the blonde supe crossed his arms behind his back and went over to the window. This was definitly not what he expected or even wanted to happen. His "somehow" father, the man he had looked up to before he new the full truth, was not someone he wanted to see ever again.
But since he didn't find his body outside the Vought Tower after their fight, he had a feeling that this was not the last time he'd seen him. The question was, what he'll be doing now. Because one thing was for sure. They still had a score to settle. And this time, he would not be the one to loose.
"We need to find him." He said to himself, but Ashley felt like she needed to answer to that.
"We can observe him. With this woman he had on his side, it will probably be pretty easy to find him."
She started to scramble through her purse to find her phone and unlocked her Computer. She didn't had it in her to look up to Homelander, who had turned around, and tried to look busy. But he made his way over to her, stopping behind the woman and laying a hand on her neck.
He leaned forward and whispered. "Then you better make this your top priority right know before someone else finds him first. Or else..." he applyed a little pressure but not so much that it really hurt. "... we have to talk again."
And with that he left the room and Ashley had to fight the urge of pulling her hair again.

"I fucking love you," and," Hang up and tell me this when you're sober."
Part two
For sweethearts @kylostyles and @dracokai !!!
Part one:
Now back to the angst ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You wake up, what you assume is a few hours later, to a warm arm resting across your stomach as you lay on your back.
Looking to your side, you see Johnny, who was sleeping on his stomach with his face half buried in your other pillow. You smile faintly at him. As much as you wanted to stay there with him, nothing was solved by Johnny coming over to your apartment drunk. If anything it added to his problem of being an alcoholic.
Slowly you slip out from under his arm and the comforter before quietly padding your way down the hall to the kitchen. Two questions kept echoing themselves in your head: Did he really love you and did he really want you to move in with him?
Or was he just drunk?...
Glancing through your cabinets for breakfast, you settle for your favorite flavor of Pop-Tarts (or similar alternative breakfast pastry). Trying as silently as you could to open the packaging to put them in the toaster.
It was around eleven in the morning so you weren't about to start cooking breakfast when it's almost lunch time. You shiver a little as you wait for the pastries to toast. You were still only wearing a over-sized t-shirt that you stole from Johnny and underwear.
Before you can get into another burst of shivering, warm strong arms wind snug around your waist, pulling you back to an even warmer chest.
Almost instantly you relax back into Johnny, with a smile, he was always so warm.
"Good morning, beautiful..." Johnny mumbles against your neck, giving you a little squeeze.
"Morning, blondie," You reply swiftly before questioning," You need any medicine for that hangover of yours?"
"Mhmm..."Johnny hums," if you've got any."
"Yeah, I'll get you some." You assure him before easing yourself from Johnny's arms, going to the cabinet where you kept medicine. After you move a few things out of the way you find what you're looking for.
Bringing the pain medicine back over to him, you glance up into his eyes.
"...Hey Johnny?" You ask him way more hesitantly than you should have.
"Yeah babe?"
"Do you remember what you said earlier this morning?" You question nervously, glancing away from his bluer than blue eyes.
Johnny thinks for a moment trying to remember before shaking his head slightly then taking two of the pain pills.
"I can't say I do. I just remember going the that bar down the street, getting some drinks, then coming over cause you wouldn't pick up." Johnny answers, watching you as you turn away from him to face the toaster.
"Al-" Your voice breaks, giving you away to him, as tears fill your eyes," Alright.."
"Hey," Johnny starts, watching as you toss the hot pastries on a plate," What's wrong? ...did I do something?"
You shake your head wordlessly as tears silently carve their paths down your cheeks.
"Hey, hey, please don't cry babe.. It'll be okay." Johnny says gently as he turns you to face him, seeing the tears.
You shake your head again, knowing if you said anything you would break and start sobbing. You were foolish to hope he would love you. Foolish to hope he'd want you to move in with him.
..Or was he just drunk?...
Johnny frowns as he pulls you into his chest once again. Johnny hated seeing you torn up about anything really, but knowing that he was involved in some way hurt more. You cry into Johnny's chest for a moment, his hands rubbing across your back trying to help calm you, before pulling back from Johnny and looking up into his eyes.
"D-do you know.. What you said each time you called me?" You question in a whisper, sniffling a little bit.
Johnny slowly shakes his head, sapphire eyes watching you intently.
"Y-you said, I fucking love you. That's what you said each time you called me." You continue to whisper, "Do you love me Johnny?"
You see him smile as his hands reach up and cradle your face, thumbs wiping away you tears.
"Yes, of course I love you. I came here because I was worried something happened to you. I love you." Johnny soothes with a broad smile before your lips cover his in a loving kiss.
Johnny pulls from you, leaning his forehead against yours while his hands hold your hips.
"If I remember correctly, you said you love me too. You gonna say it back?" Johnny gives you a smirk, making you smile.
"Johnny I-"
"-AND say that you're going to move in with me." Johnny's stupid jerk smirk teases you.
You knew Johnny didn't like your apartment complex apparently there was "shady" stuff going on, which honestly you didn't doubt.
You laugh softly, glancing around at your small apartment, debating if you should move in with him or not. Of course you want to move in with Johnny but then you'd be farther from your work...
Wait you were gonna let a shitty minimum wage job keep you from living with your boyfriend?
"Johnny, I love you," You smile, leaning up to kiss him, but he leans back.
"And you're gonna move in with me?" He persists, squeezing your hips.
"And I'll move in with you." You assure with a nod and a bright smile, kissing your new roomate soundly.
You feel his arm reach past you, so you glance back to see him stealing one of the pastries and before you can move fast enough, Johnny has already taken a bite out of it.
"Johnny! That's my breakfast!" You shout at him and he only smirks, taking another bite.
"You're such a jerk." You grumble.
"But you love me."
"Yeah I do, its my character flaw."
----------------------------------------------
Bonus:
You lift up the heavy box with slight difficulty, slowly making your way to Johnny's door.
"Hey Mrs. Lawrence, do you need any help with that?" Miguel asks, jogging over to you and easily taking the box from your arms.
You feel your face quickly heat up at the thought of being married to Johnny and that Miguel thought you were already married.
"Thanks Miguel, but me and Johnny aren't married... You don't have to call me that." You tell him with a smile, walking with him to the apartment.
"Oh, my bad, you already act like a married couple." He chuckles, setting the box inside, wondering why Sensei hadn't proposed to you already.
He'd already helped pick out your ring last week.
Walking with the boys, you found yourself slowing down and checking your phone, the time flickering as you found yourself staring at the time. Your eye's widened at the time, hardly noticing as Izuku, Shouto, and Katsuki stopping in front of you, confused at your delay. "Shit. It's late," you gasped, stuffing your phone back into the pocket of your thigh high boots.
"What's going on?" Izuku asked, walking closer in slight worry.
Katsuki crosses his arms, having taken off his gauntlets, "Hm, What're you slowing us down for?" Although you knew he meant it in good nature.
You look up at him and glance between the other two, before smiling quickly, "Oh, it's nothing," you waved it off that it wasn't serious. "I told Dad that I'd meet him before the party. And I haven't seen Uncle David yet, either," you perked up before looking at Izuku once more, "Oh, wait you met him haven't you, Zuku? Uncle David, I mean. Dad and him have been friends forever!"
Izuku nodded, his fists in the air, "Yeah! He's amazing, I never knew you knew David Shield!"
You laughed, "I knew you'd like to meet him." You smiled, before it faded slightly, "But, now I've gotta run. You guys will be at the Expo Reception tonight, right?" You questioned.
"Only because you're going. Although I'd rather not listen to a bunch of old guys I don't even know give a boring speech," Bakugo admitted, frowning with a light blush in his cheeks as he leaned his head back, his hands behind his head.
Izuku nodded.
Shouto nodded, "Yeah. Will you be meeting up with us?"
You brought a finger up to your chin, thoughtfully. "I have to be there with Dad for the reception, I'm supposed to be going with him. But, after that, I can always come up so we can go as a group, you guys are supposed to be my dates after all." You smiled at the last part.
"You damn right we are!" Katsuki boasted, "And don't you forget it, I don't wanna have to get you my self!"
Shouto sighed while Izuku flinched at the loud voice, "Do you have to be so loud?" The ice and fire user asked in slight annoyance.
"You wanna go Icyhot?!"
"I only asked a question, no need to get violent." Shouto closed his eyes bored, crossing his arm's as small explosions noisily left Katsuki's palms.
You sweatdropped. "Don't go at each other's throats while I'm gone, please," You looked at Katsuki accusingly, "Bakugo." He stiffened as you used his last name, huffing as he looks away.
"Whatever," he scoffs.
You rolled your eye's with a giggle, walking up to him, "Just meet me at the central tower, 6:30," you finished, pecking Katsuki on his lips, which calmed him slightly as he made eye contact with you.
"Sharp," you said, turning to the others.
Shouto was the next closest, he leaned down before you could tiptoe, kissing you gently, "We'll be there," he says, smiling as you pull away.
Going over to Izuku, you pulled at his costume collar, "You brought formal wear, right? I forgot to mention it before the flight," you rubbed the back of your neck guiltily. Izuku nodded quickly, smiling brightly.
"No, it's fine, I did. All might told me beforehand. Don't worry," he said and you sighed in relief, happy that your father remembered and reminded him.
"Great. I'll see you there." You brought your lips onto his, eyes closing and Izuku couldn't help himself from swooning like always.
Pulling away, you walked backwards, smiling at them all. "Well, see you guys there," you turned, searching for the research center that David would be. You urged your power to spread to your feet, "Love you!" You called, before bursting into the air, turning in mid air to wave before adding another boost and soaring with a giant leap towards the lead researchers facility. Izuku waved, yelling back over the winds that picked up, Shouto raising a hand with a soft smile, Katsuki watched as you went, hiding his own smirk.
Once you landed, you found yourself in front of the facility, running into it, greeting the receptionist as your name flickered over the doorway. She nodded towards you, recognizing you as All Might's Daughter with a gapping wave, "R-right this way, ms." She directed you down the hall. You smiled at her, nodding in understanding.
"Thank you," you said before running off towards the door.
You opened it, your name flashing over the door as well, although once you were inside, the door closing behind you, you could see he shocked looks of both David and your father. However, your father was in his weakened state, skinny and his bruised battle wound out to the world. Your eye's drifting down to the wound, your heart clenching sadly, your smile fading entirely.
Toshinori stared at his daughter, having almost bulked up once more, until seeing that you were the one who entered. He glanced down at his side, understanding the look on your usually vibrant face, "(y/n)...I, um," he sighed before shaking his head, "Don't worry about this, ok?" He tried to ease you, although he knew it didn't work.
You forced a smile, "It's ok, dad. Are you in any pain? Did you take your meds?" You questioned him, stepping forwards, taking his costume in your hand as you passed it by. You had developed a medication that would ease his pain, prolonging the time he could stay as All Might, now he had at least a few more hours a day.
You could still remember how you had felt during the fight between your father and All for One, it was horrifying, you couldn't do anything to help, being so young. And then you had heard how serious his wounds had been, and no matter how many surgeries or extensive operations, they couldn't do anything about his fading abilities due to his crippling body. That's why you had gone into U.A. to fight beside your father when the time came, you knew of the origin of One for All, how he was fated to go against All for One with each passing of his power torch. You knew Izuku would be next to face this burden, and you would fight beside him when the time came, and with your life you'd protect the heir of One for All even if it cost your life.
You pulled out a small case from your pocket, opening it while putting the costume in the crook of your arm, "Here," you offered him the small pill. It was small but powerful enough to make the effects apparent.
Toshinori smiled softly at his daughter, ruffling your hair with his right hand before taking the pill in his left, "What would I do without you?" He praised you.
"Probably forget, as usual," you laughed, leaning into your father's touch, before giving him the case to fit in the palm of his hand.
While you two laughed together, you heard someone clear their throat, you stopped and turned before smiling widely, "Uncle David!" You leaped up and gasped fondly at your Dad's closest friend.
The red headed man grinned at the sight of you, standing from his seat to envelope you in a hug, "(y/n), my, my, how you've grown! You've gotten so big!" He spun you around, making you laugh brightly.
"It's been forever, Uncle David. I'm so happy to see you!" You hugged him tightly, before pulling away with a grin. "I saw Melissa! She's so nice! I can't believe that's the girl that made my costume, you must be proud!" You boasted.
David nodded, beaming down at you. "Yes, I am, very much. But, I'm just as proud of you. I heard about the hero support you've developed and your powers have grown so much, I saw the sports festival, you were amazing!"
You blushed, "Thanks. I'm just trying to expand my horizon, ya know," you said, giggling.
David chuckled at you before nodding, "Well I can't say how much it means to me to see you, it's been too long, munch," he rubbed the top of your head before caressing the side of your face.
"Same here."
Later, your father bulks up, turning into the proud hero, All Might, he groan's slightly before hiding it as he waves his goodbye to his friend. "Alright then, we'll see you later...Looking forward to partying with you!" His voice becoming deeper as he turns into All Might.
"Same," David says, hugging you close before you go after your father as he opens the door. However, he frown's before calling out to you, making both you and All Might pause, "Hold on, (y/n), can I talk to you? It's about your blasters..." he lies, smiling nervously.
Your eye's widened before you look back at your father, "Can you wait for me at the hotel?"
He smiles at you, "Of course, daughter! I'll see you later, my friend!" He waves his goodbye as he goes out the door and leaves you to close it.
Once you enter, closing the door, your smile fades, "I know what you're gonna say...it's bad, isn't it?" You looked away, your hand over your heart, resting over the jewel connected to your costume. You had once took a hard hit from a villain, straight to the chest, it nearly killed you, having splintered your ribs and damaged the flow of your quirk which derived from your heart. Your quirk allowed you to absorb the energy around you, it flowed directly to your heart and filled you with life energy, so technically your body was just a vessel, this allowed you to materialize from one place to another, being two places at one time. You also could convert the energy to cosmic energy, creating blasts that enveloped your hands and legs to release powerful boosts. However, after that battle, you weren't able to have your power flow correctly, which resulted in your power bursting from your body from all angles, you couldn't control the direction and it always hurt to try.
"His power is depleting faster than I've ever seen! What's happened to him?" David asked you, worried for his friend, worried for the symbol of peace. "I'm worried for him. The symbol of peace...he's..." His fists balled up, he looked down in anger and sadness.
You looked up at him, remembering that he still didn't know about your father transferring One for All to Izuku. "The stress of his hero work, it's always had an effect on him. But, after that battle...his power has never been the same. And I can't stop it..." although you lied about the reason, you still felt tears well up knowing there really had been no way you could've helped your father's deterioration even before Izuku showed up into your lives. You had always felt as if you were responsible, if you had been stronger, you could've fought by his side. But, your father's still strong and now, you were strong enough to help without being a burden. "I know you're worried, Uncle Dave," you said to him, your uncle perked up, "But, a new age of heroes will rise...and father will never step down, not for anything. My family, we strive to protect the world, even if times are hard, we always find a way to preserve. So don't fret! For he is still, and forevermore, here!" You gave him a thumbs up, and despite the pain you've always felt, gave him the biggest smile you ever could.
David felt tears coming to his eye's, looking at his niece in a new light, that smile on your face, that confidence despite the pain in your eye's...he could see All Might in your light and he could see a new symbol of heroism rising with you. He nodded, giving giving a watery smile, "Of course, you're right!" He nods, almost feeling foolish for doubting the strongest hero in the world.
You nodded before feeling your phone buzz, a message, you took it from your thigh pocket and opened it, seeing a text from Iida. He had sent it in a group text to meet up at the location of the reception at 6:30. There was also a text from your father, tell telling you to meet him at the hotel to get ready for the party tonight. You put your phone back into your pocket before walking over to David, "I've gotta run, Uncle, see go at the party?" You hugged him once more. He embraced you wife just as much vigor if not more.
"Thank you, (y/n), you're becoming such a beautiful young woman," he said, smiling as he held you tighter and you beamed.
You waved him goodbye as you left out the door.
"Ready, darling?"
You turned, your hair flipping over your shoulder to give a better view of your face. You luckily had a hidden pouch around your thigh, high enough to not be seen fromcthe slits of your dress. You pocket your phone in the pouch, pulling the ruby brooch from Izuku off the counter as you smile at your father, walking over to him.
You pout at his costume before glancing down at your red dress, the V-neck dipping low enough to show off some cleavage and the tight red dress had two slits on both sides to show off your long legs. Your booted heels went up to your ankles and we're short enough for you to feel comfortable. "Why can you where your costume?" You asked him, alittle upset as you crossed your arm's.
The symbol of peace laughed proudly, "I am a pro hero after all, my dear. Do not worry, you look wonderful as usual!" He grin's widely before offering his arm to you, "Shall we?"
You glance down at his muscular arm before smiling and nodding, taking your father's arm. "Let's go have some fun tonight, ok?" You were happy that your father could finally relax for what seemed like forever.
All might nodded before lifting your hand in his, kissing the back of your hand gently, "Of course, darling. Let us go," he grinned, opening the door to the tower.
You looked around, seeing that Iida was the only one in the lobby, although he couldn't see you as you were in the elevator as he entered the lobby. You glanced down at you palm, still holding the brooch, you quickly pinned it at the end of your V-neck, where you'd usually have your costumes jewel, over your heart. "I see that young midoriya has given you his gift!" Your father said.
You look up at him, smiling, "Yes! It's beautiful!"
"Just like you, my darling," you beamed up at your father as he complimented you.
The elevator opened and you both stepped out, entering a hallway, there was a large doorway, opened to welcome the guests. You passed by a few pro's, they paused and gasped and a they found themselves looking and at All Might and his daughter, striding down to the room.
You both found Uncle David quickly, he smiled seeing the both of you, having grabbed a drink. He walked over, "Glad to see you both could make it!"
You, Dad, and David talk briefly before your eyes flicker to the time, the clock at the side strokes 6:30 and you glance at the doorway. You had promised you'd meet your boyfriends for the reception, "Hey Dad, you don't mind if I step out? I promised the boys I'd come up with them when they came." You asked him.
Your father nodded, "of course, darling," he answered.
You smiled at him before walking towards the door, David watched you before glancing at All Might, "Boys?" He smirked, "I didn't think you'd be ok with your daughter dating if ever. So, who's the lucky boy, huh?"
"Young Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugo!" All might stated proudly, although he lightly grimaced as he was still wary of you dating.
David raised a brow, gaping. "Did you say three? Wha--wow! Haha, I guess (y/n) is more popular with the boys then you'd have liked huh?" He laughed at his friends obvious reluctance of your dating life.
"It seems so."
David laughed, getting the hero a drink.
You made it to the elevator just as you heard the audience begin to clap, cheering for the number one hero to give a speech. You wouldn't want to leave Dad, being his number one supporter, instead you closed your eye's as the elevator opened and you felt a piece of your own energy splitting from you before you were literally split in two. You opened your eyes to see yourself staring back at you, your energized clone walked back to the room to watch the speech and you entered the elevator.
You could hear and feel anything your clone could so you listened as your father commented on you being two places at once and you giggled to yourself. You could hear him saying that David owed him for this speech before he went up to speak. You focused as the numbers rose to the lobby, you found it opening as your name flickers s cross the screen above you.
You step out, a smile growing on your face as you see your peers and two boyfriends standing there, all of them turning towards you as the elevator opens. "Guys! You're here!" You gasped, happily.
Immediately seeing you, Kaminari and Mineta had almost instant nosebleeds, "Such beauty, an angel! We're so blessed!" They exclaim nearly falling over as they oogle you shamelessly. "I think I've actually died, I can't take this beauty!"
Jirou sticks her earphone jacks into their ears, nearly knocking them out with the sudden loud noise, "at least try and be respectful!" She frown's before looking up at you, "wow, (y/n), you look so great!" You giggle in thanks, blushing before ochaco comes beside you as well as Momo, "Gosh, (y/n), you look hot!" Your face is even redder. Melissa took your arm, "Your dress is so cute, I love it!'' You shyly muttered a thank you. "When did you get those?" Momo pointed down at your chest teasingly, your face was beet red by then.
"Yoayarozu!" You cried, crossing your arm's.
"You look perfect, (y/n)!" You turned at the voice, blushing still, you smiled seeing Izuku in his red tux, similar to your father's although it was red. He was blushing heavily, unable to keep his eye's off of you, he didn't believe in falling in love all over again until now. You were so beautiful, he was was so lucky!
You moved your loose hair to the side, "Thanks Zuku. Your tux, I love it, red looks good on you," you said, walking over to him to place a chaste kiss on his cheek.
"Oh, well, thanks!" He chuckled, trying to keep his composure.
"You look stunning, (y/n). As always," you felt a hand around your waist, you turned with your ears burning. You grinned seeing Shouto in a white suit, a red tie around his neck.
"Shouto! Oh, thanks! Your suit is great, I'm glad you chose this, I love it!" You didn't know how much he loved you. You were so ravishing, he just wanted to press you up against the wall and take your lips right there. Your beauty always seemed to stun him, no matter what you were wearing, but you just looked so unbelievable in this dress.
You kissed him tenderly before turning towards Izuku, who smiled at you, his eyes trying to stay at your face. "Zuku, where's Katsuki?"
Iida was the one to answer you, "He and Kirishima haven't answered their phones. Knowing those two they're blowing off the party," he frowned.
You chuckled softly, "They probably just left their phones. I'm sure they're here somewhere."
Suddenly, your eye's went wide, freezing up as you heard heard a sudden loud noise, but it wasn't from around you, it was with your clone. It was saying something a bit a bomb report. You frowned and everyone instantly noticed, Izuku places places a hand on your back, "Love, what's going on? What's wrong?" Shouto rubs your arm, trying to take you back to this side, "(y/n)?"
You turned towards him, "I-I'm not sure. But...somethings wrong." As if on cue, the windows began to shut and metal barriers quickly began to cover each one, sealing off the building from the world outside. You all gaped in shock, confused at the sudden emergency precautions. You stepped away from Shouto before looking around as the doors locked down as well, the elevators shutting down and locking everyone out.
You pressed your hand to your temple, connecting yourself with your clone, your eyes clouding over as you began to see through your clones eyes. Your eye's going wide as you find yourself at gunpoint, at your father's side, he links eyes with you as he notices your change in expression. "Dad, what's going on?" You asked, you could feel the stares of your classmates as you seemed to be talking to noone, but you knew they were aware of your ability.
"We're being attacked, quickly go!" He warned you, before suddenly the villains around the area, quickly made their moves.
Here were a dozen or so with masks on, their hands held guns and pointed at all the civilians, "Do it!" The seemingly lead member said into his comm.
You paled before quickly beginning to demateralize your clone, not before you heard the holes in the ground opening to let out a glowing rope of restraints, immediately wrapping around you, tightly. You yelped, before growling angrily around the lead villain came up the stairs as you and your father tried to break free, he shot his gun. You both flinched, looking up in fear, you were relieved he hadn't shot anyone. "Don't move! If you take so much as a step, I'll kill everyone in this room!" He pointed his gun at me, making me glare at him. "Starting with her," he dared. That made your father go still.
"Villain," he shouted, before he was kicked down.
You gasped, before you felt him grab your by your restraints, smirking at you, licking his lips behind his mask. "I know you. Little might, all grown now," you glared at him before hissing at him until he shoved you backwards, pushing you to the ground.
However, the moment you made contact, your clone shattered and you heard him scream, "no!" Before your vision came back and you were in Shouto's arm's, Izuku and him looking down at you worried. You hadn't even heard them calling out to you over the crisis in the reception room.
You gasped before you sat up, you realized your body was still bound, the restraints had come to your real body. You looked down at them in surprise before you looked at your friends, "There's trouble at the party, Dad's down there. We need to get down there, try to find out what's going on." You flexed against against the restraints, pulling against them, the bonds breaking as you sat up, having been too far from their connection.
You rubbed your wrists as Shouto helped you up, before suddenly you felt a sharp pain in your arm and Izuku and and the others gasped. "(Y/n), you're hurt!" He exclaimed worriedly, you looked down and your arm was bleeding, it was a deep scrape. You then remembered the guy who was waving that gun around, threatening to shoot you, he must've shot you once you had begun to disappear. Frowning, you looked at Izuku as he ripe his suit and tore off a piece before wrapping in around your arm.
"Thanks. Now, Melissa, how do we get to the reception without using the elevator?" The girl perked up, looking up from the blood dripping from your fingers. She pointed over over to the emergency staircase, "There!"
Friday dawned with an overcast sky. The campers were all clearly unhappy about that, but they continued their activities as usual, hoping for no rain.
And they all loved Anna's braid. Especially when they saw the braid was the same as Elsa's; that drove them crazy. The sisters could see Olaf straining to say things, but apparently, their reprimand had at least temporarily headed him off from saying things like "marriage" in reference to the two of them. Instead he simply told Anna that she looked pretty with Elsa's braid and asked Elsa when she was going to copy Anna's usual hairstyle.
While their interactions were nowhere near as frequent or friendly as the last few days, Anna was relieved that her sister was at least talking to her. Even if it was just to briefly comment on her braid and to explain what that day's agendas were. However, to keep her distance from Elsa, Anna kept herself as busy as possible with the kids, patiently allowing them to play with her braid and helping them with whatever problems they were having.
It was nearing noon and while the sky was still gray and dreary, there was a brief glimpse of the sun peeking through the clouds. Their group were inside the crafts building again, but instead of birdhouses and clay, the kids were all making hats and tie-dyeing shirts. The room was filled with chatter and a mix of colour that brought life where the sky was dull.
Anna stood near the back wall to watch, arms crossed and a slight smile on her lips as she watched Elsa show some of the kids the various ways to dye the shirts. Her hands gestured so emphatically that Anna could even tell what she was demonstrating from across the room. When one of the little girls raised up her shirt to ask a question, she patted her on the head, and the girl beamed with gratitude.
A minute or so later, Elsa approached her spot by the wall, face completely passive. Leaning up against it a foot or so away, she observed, "You've been quiet today."
"Yeah, sorry." Anna subconsciously began to fidget with her hands. She smiled at Elsa but she couldn't help feeling a touch nervous under those bright blue eyes. "I'm just a little tired today, that's all."
"Oh. Well… I guess."
Anna felt a tug on her shirt and almost sighed in relief when she looked down to see Max, one of the camp owner's kids, standing in front of her with a sheepish grin. "Hmm?"
"Miss Anna, can you help me with my hat?" She ruffled his hair and nodded, watching him as he dashed back to his table before walking after him with an apologetic look towards Elsa.
She ended up staying there for a bit, watching as Elsa went back to helping the kids, however there was a slight frown gracing her beautiful features that made Anna's gut twist in guilt. She didn't mean to lie, but she wasn't sure how else to respond to the question without making the kids curious.
~ o ~
Elsa didn't try again until they were in the mess hall for supper. She had apparently been chewing on what she would say all throughout the entire crafts activity, because she spoke as if there had been no gap in their conversation.
"Of course you're tired. Where… did you sleep last night?"
The question made her blink in surprise. She was sitting alone today, seeing as Rapunzel was busy elsewhere, and hadn't expected her sister to join her. "I stayed with Rapunzel," she answered, lowering her gaze to her platter. "Her roomie, Snow, was sleeping over with the other girls so Punzie offered her bed to me. Snow was surprisingly nice about it this morning, too," she sighed slightly. "Did… you sleep okay?"
"No. I didn't. Too many thoughts running around in my head." She moved around to sit, even though she had been waiting before. Apparently, Anna's not asking her to leave was approval enough. "I have a feeling I… didn't say the right things last night. When you told me."
Anna's guilt returned tenfold at the almost casual way Elsa admitted her bad night. She wanted to shrink under the piercing gaze, feeling worse as she reflected that while Anna had Rapunzel, Elsa had no one to turn to since Anna had selfishly ran from her.
"I-I'm sorry," she managed to whisper. She heard the scrape of the chair across from her as Elsa settled down. "W-What did you mean to say?" The words came out of a tight throat and Anna fiddled with her fork, too ashamed and too guilty to look her sister in the eyes.
"I… wouldn't know, Anna. This isn't something I've ever had to talk about before. So… I think it's really unfair for you to have expected me to answer correctly the first time, don't you?"
"I don't expect you to answer 'correctly'…" Anna sighed and forced herself to eat a bit of the food despite the knots in her stomach. "I just… want some reassurance that you won't hate me, that's all. That you won't do what our mom did." She didn't like saying that, admitting it out loud still stung. "I love you, Elsa, and I can't… I wouldn't be able to deal with you hating me. I'm so sorry for leaving you last night but I just got so scared…"
Looking down at her tray for a few seconds, Elsa finally whispered, "You didn't give me a chance. You just… just dropped this bombshell on me, and then ran. Maybe I have no idea what I could have said, maybe I messed up my words, but how could I do any better with you gone?"
Anna hung her head in shame. "I'm sorry," she apologised, "I didn't… I remember you always liked to be alone to think about stuff, and I was scared that I- I would just… be a distraction, and we would fight and-" She stopped herself from finishing that sentence. "So I left to give us space to think about it. I'm sorry..."
The other sister didn't respond for a minute, opting to take a few bites of her food. Her hand was shaking as she lifted the fork up to her mouth, chest rising and falling too rapidly. Anna almost began to worry she was having an attack of some kind when she finally spoke up again, voice barely a whisper.
"You're probably right. About me needing time. But you left too early. I… I didn't… I had questions. They might have been stupid, or cruel. But I had them, and no one to ask them to." Then she set down the fork and grunted in frustration, "This is going nowhere; I keep blaming you for being scared when I don't mean to, and… and that isn't fair. I just want you to understand how I was feeling yesterday, too, that's all. Do you?"
"I literally just crapped on an entire lifetime's worth of teachings, Elsa," Anna said softly. "Trust me, I've been there, too. Luckily, Papa has been nothing but supportive of me. He never held any disdain for gay people and he always told me that my… 'lifestyle' doesn't make me any less of a person or any less of a Christian." She looked down. "But you, you were raised under the firm belief that we're bad people, and to learn that I'm one of those bad people was probably a bitter enough pill to swallow without me running off like that…"
"Anna… of course I don't hate you." Her eyes were clear and intense when Anna glanced up at them, gazing directly into Anna's. "Actually, I'm pretty hurt you think I could. Even when I thought you were ignoring me for five years, when I resented that… I still didn't hate you over it. Why should this be any different?"
"I- I just love you so much..." Anna's confession was a whisper and she had a hard time keeping Elsa's intense gaze. "I- I couldn't help but worry about the chance." She didn't mention that a large part of her hesitation had to do with their mother's actions. She wanted to reach out and hold her sister close but she hesitated, unsure where they stood. It was such a tremendous relief to know Elsa didn't hate her that Anna's tense shoulders almost completely relaxed, but she was still not too certain how welcome her touch would be.
"You really do, don't you?" Elsa's question was fragile and small. "I… wish I had never questioned it. I wish I could say that, but I can't. Because after the first few years…" Now she was looking down at the table, throat tight. "Did… you not want to talk to me all this time… because of this? Because you were afraid I wouldn't love you anymore, like you were afraid last night?"
"I told you, all I wanted more than anything was to talk to you." Anna bit her lip in frustration. "I- I admit I'm not sure I would've admitted my sexuality right away, but I would never just completely shut you out of my life! I tried so hard to contact you and I have no idea how to prove that!"
"Yeah, you said. About the picture." Suddenly, almost as if from nowhere — but obviously they had been building all along — tears were sliding down her cheeks as she hissed, "But what possible reason would Mama have to do this?! It's crazy! I know she hates Papa now from how she talks about him, I know that, but she doesn't ever talk about you at all! Not unless I bring you up! A-and you're so sweet, and kind, and every bit the sister I remember, so I just don't understand this! I'm s-so confused, and I don't know what to believe!"
"I don't know, Elsa." Seeing Elsa break down in front of her was one of the most painful sights Anna has ever seen and without another word, she stood up and walked around the table to her sister. She kneeled in front of her and embraced her tightly. "All I know for sure is that I want nothing more than to be with you… We're together now, and if you're willing, then I never want you out of my life again." She squeezed her as tightly as she could. "I think Mama cut off contact between us because she doesn't want my homosexuality rubbing off on you… I mean, she wouldn't want two gay kids, right? Why would she want that sinner tainting her only good daughter?"
"Shut up. You aren't 'bad', you aren't…" After a few seconds, Elsa's crying quieted. At first, Anna thought she was feeling better, but that hope faded when she whispered in a tight voice, "Are… you sure? That was… that was why?"
She tightened her grip and squeezed her eyes shut to keep her tears from spilling out, as well. "I've been thinking this over for hours, and that's the only thing I can think of that makes sense. She doesn't hate Papa like he thought, it's me..." She let out a soft sound that was stuck between a sob and a sigh. "I don't know Mama as well anymore so I can't say for sure… but I do know Mama freaked when I told her I kissed a girl. What else should I think?"
"When…" Clearing her throat, she pulled back to stare into Anna's face. Hers was full of a kind of dread, maybe even nausea. "When did you tell her about kissing a girl?"
"Remember when I told you about Mulan?" At the sight of Elsa's nod, Anna continued, "Mama called that night and I was just so… I dunno, confused but also kind of elated. A-And I told Mama about it because I was thirteen and wanted to share this weird, new development with her. She lost it, Elsa! Screamed and yelled, and called me all sorts of cruel things until Papa took the phone from me to diffuse the situation." Anna shuddered. "Summer just started, I remember that because Mulan left for a trip to visit relatives in her homeland in June and she kissed me the day she left."
But Anna could tell Elsa hadn't taken much of it in. Her entire face, her posture, everything about her was numb. It would have seemed like a bad omen for their relationship if the next thing Elsa did was anything else, but what she did was reach up to lay her hand on Anna's neck, stroking up and down affectionately.
"Thirteen," she rasped out dully. "Five years ago… right before…"
Anna nodded, relishing the warmth of Elsa's hand on her neck. She held Elsa even tighter. "We were supposed to visit that summer, remember? B-But Papa had to cancel the trip because he was scared of how Mama would react if she saw me… it took Mama six months before she would talk to me again."
"She did? What did she say when she would? What happened? Oh God…" Clearly, Elsa was on the verge of losing mental integrity, but she was trying to hold out long enough to hear Anna's full story. To get every piece of information into place.
"She didn't really say anything? If I asked about you, she would avoid the question or tell me you were too busy to talk and if I tried talking to her she would… she would talk about the scriptures or make general small talk rather than tell me about how you and her were doing. I mean, besides 'fine', for how much that counts. There were a few times she asked if I had 'purged the evil from my soul'… and when I didn't answer, she would hang up. But she would always call at the same time every week and would answer my calls so I had no reason to believe anything was out of the ordinary besides the fact that she never really acted like Mama anymore and that you wouldn't talk to me."
Elsa blinked a few times as Anna rubbed her shoulders, nodded, and sat blinking for a few seconds longer. Then she whispered, "Anna, I am… I still don't understand all of this, but I'm sorry that you were ever given the impression that I was too busy for you. Or that I would stop loving you just because you like women. I still don't understand that, but it's not the same as me giving up on you completely. I…" Her lip quivered. "I'm glad you're back in my life, okay?"
"I'm glad you're back in mine, too, Elsie. So glad!" Anna choked on a sob as she pressed her face into Elsa's to give her a kiss on the cheek, her arms around the older girl shaking from the onslaught of emotion and love that overwhelmed her. "T-Thank you."
Elsa nodded against her face, clinging to her hard. They sniffled and clung to each other, lost in the heartache and sadness. The spell was eventually broken by a quiet, sweet voice.
"Are you two alright over here?"
When they drew back enough to look, it was to see Snow's cherubic little face blinking down at them in concern. Anna reluctantly pulled away from Elsa, resting a hand on her cheek and using her thumb to carefully wipe the winter blonde's tears away. Anna let out a sigh.
"We're fine, Snow... we just…" She didn't know how to explain the situation so she trailed off and just looked at Elsa, who was smiling through her bleary, wrung-out expression. She felt much better than she had starting the day, but she knew that their talk wasn't quite over yet.
"We needed to get some stuff out, that's all," she finally managed to finish. That would have to do.
