DPxDC Danny the Guy Who Won't Die
He lives in Gotham, and he is just A Guy. Nothing weird about him, he's just there to study/work/help Lady Gotham to lift her curse/on vacation with Sam. Point is, he is not there to cause trouble and there's no GIW on his tail. Just a dude living his (after)life.
And Gotham, being Gotham, still finds a way to be annoying. There are mugging attempts, robbery, Rogues running around. Only Danny really doesn't want to deal with any of it.
Now there's a dilemma. If he uses his powers to fight, it will sooner or later come to Bats' attention. And if he fights as a human, it will also alert some of the Bats since he doesn't really do a great job at keeping his power levels low. Not to mention the fact he is really not enthusiastic about accidentally punching someone hard enough he sends them to a hospital.
What does he do instead? He pulls the 'I guess I'll die' act.
So every time he is attacked, he just plays dead. The mugger shot him in the chest? He falls down and stops breathing. Caught up in the middle of a Poison Ivy attack? Skewers himself on the vine and goes lax. Scarecrow's Fear Gas? Very dramatically chokes himself and plays a corpse. He makes sure to disappear before any ambulances arrive later, and it all goes well for a few months - he is just a casualty, who cares, really - until one day, he runs into that same mugger who shot him in the chest a while ago.
The man does a double take. Danny doesn't notice - he's been mugged so many times, who has the brain capacity to remember all of those fuckers. But the rumor goes out anyway.
A guy-who-won't-die. It's more of a city legend, really, and the Bats don't give it much thought since, well, it sounds stupid and not very important. A rumor of some man who was shot dead and then showed up like nothing happened? Yeah, it's probably because the mugger didn't check if he was actually dead. That happens. Maybe it wasn't even the same man, Gotham is a big city. If anything, hey, at least that was one less casualty? That's a good thing.
That is, until one day, they show up to Joker's hostage situation and witness the clown screaming at one of the hostages. He is so enraged he is shaking, spit flying out of his mouth, and, contrary to the usual Joker's evil sneers and maniacal laughter, he seems just... furious. But, like, the normal-human-level furious. The 'I just lost the last ounce of patience with you' furious.
"Don't you look away from me, you think I don't remember you?! Na-ah, I do. You were the one I drowned in the shark tank last week! And you were the one run through the chainsaw trap two weeks before that! And you were in the guillotine!!! I saw your fucking head get deattached from your body, how the fuck are you here again?!"
And the guy he is screaming at just looks at him, confused and incomprehensive.
"Um, I'm pretty sure I'd remember getting my head cut off, you know? So, err, wrong guy."
"Wrong guy my fucking ass-"
Joker is so distracted by his screaming match that it makes it almost too easy for the Bats to fight him down and drag to Arkham. Yet, a few of them get just a bit suspicious.
Now, imagine all the shenanigans when they try keeping a watch on Danny the Won't Die Guy.

I didn't know Katara also had silver marks on the Kintsugi AU. How did you come up with that idea? Is it an in-universe cultural thing? If it is, is it exactly the same as Zuko's or does the Water Tribe have their own beliefs around it?
Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, I just really love how your mind works when it comes to these AUs 💖
Hello, and thanks for asking!
Initially, Kintsugi was a strictly Fire Nation tradition. Something to hold over the rest of the nations, and deepen their own belief of cultural superiority. Zuko hiding his scars played into that idea, since having gold inlaid in your body is a clear sign of Fire Nation blood—furthermore, High Fire Nation blood.
That being said, one lovely anon gave the suggestion that perhaps the other nations also have their own kinds of Kintsugi, and I fell in love with the idea. @ican-fixitbooks went even deeper into the particular philosophies of each nation regarding Kintsugi. I'll be using some quotes from them—watch for the italics.
It was during said brainstorming session that I thought of Katara having a silver Kintsugi scar, and how could it be used to enhance the themes of ATLA, Katara's arc, and this AU as a whole.
But a little background is necessary, I believe.
Kintsugi is a tradition practiced worldwide, with minor differences in philosophy/technique according to each nation.
The Earth Kingdom seal their scars with a substance that resembles bronze, as the mentality of breaking yourself down to build yourself back up better than you were is very central to their culture. It is used as a way to celebrate one's victories, made all the better if damage was taken to achieve it.
The elite have rather different views on this practice. They believe themselves to be above such things. That which is broken must be hidden away, which has interesting connotations when thinking about a certain blind earthbender.
The Air Nomad philosophy leans towards a naturalist approach. Anything natural doesn't need to be "improved" in their eyes. If a scar is there, it is there. Let it be there as a part of you, no different than any other, no need to be "made better", but in fact better to just "be".
Kintsugi is a cultural practice meant to celebrate making something beautiful out of something broken, arguably even making it better than it was. During Sozin's reign and forward, Kintsugi became a way to show the Fire Nation's superiority. Especially as that is essentially their philosophy for war: "Breaking the rest of the world so it can be reforged in fire, made a better, more perfect place."
As for the Water Tribes, there's the healing factor to take into account. The Northern Water Tribe isolated itself from the rest of the world once the war began, so they hold tight to their traditions and beliefs. If something is not broken, then why attempt to fix it? Kintsugi is scoffed at in the North—it is a foreign practice, one that is not necessary when all your wounds can be healed with bending.
However, the Southern Water Tribe has been exposed to the world. They have seen war. They have lived through it. They have suffered, but they are also free because of it, if only in spirit. The South is strong and proud and bold, so it comes as no surprise that silver Kintsugi becomes the mark of their warriors, their hunters, their people.
Katara was wounded during the last Southern Raid. After losing Kya in such a terrible way, Hakoda made sure to seal Katara's wound with the silver of their warriors, so that she would always remember that despite having been broken, she is still strong, beautiful, and proud.
The scar itself is long and thin, going from her right shoulder up to her jaw. It loosely resembles lightning.
And despite how she got it, despite all the things she lost on that day, despite it being a constant reminder of her mother's death—Katara loves her scar.
It grounds her. It pushes her forward. You are a warrior, it tells her. You are a survivor.
When Katara arrives at the North, her scar becomes yet another thing the Northerners hold against her. They use it to demean her, just as they do her gender and out-spoken personality.
The North believes a lot of things that Katara always considered natural to be a problem. What does it matter that she is a woman? What is wrong about being passionate? Why should having a scar mean she's broken?
This scar is something they cannot touch. The Northerners try to use it to demean her. To make her small. Self-conscious. Worthless.
They're scoffing at her mother's death.
Her strength.
Her beauty.
Her pride.
Her story.
And she will not allow it.

Veilguard Isn't Just For Superfans, And That's OK
Something to keep in mind through all of this (which I have seen very little consideration for) is that Veilguard wasn’t made to cater exclusively to long time players who have invested up to a decade or more in this series. It's a Triple A game. They literally cannot afford to pander only to superfans, especially with BioWare hovering so precariously over EA's chopping block.
Even if you put the financial elements aside, new players matter and always will. Their experience matters, and I can’t imagine anything that might alienate them or hinder their experience with this new game more than having to slog through a laundry list of choices from games they haven’t played and shouldn’t have to in order to play DA4. Imagine how utterly miserable and unsatisfying this game would be for new players if it spent a solid chunk of it's time (and their time) on forced cameos and callbacks that otherwise don't have much bearing on the story other than "hey, guys, remember the thing???"
Honestly, I'm not sure anyone would enjoy a game like that. I know I wouldn't.
I'm sure cameos and callbacks will still be in there, but that can't be the entire game. It's not a DnD campaign. It's not you and your buddies running around goofing off in a fantasy world that can be picked up, put down, and rearranged indefinitely at your convenience. At the end of the day, it needs to be a game with fun mechanics and a compelling story or we will never see another one. Dragon Age as a franchise cannot survive if all it does is fall into self referential rabbit holes until it ultimately cannibalizes itself.
To wax metaphorical for a second, we can't keep dragging poor Hawke around Thedas until they're old and broken and begging for death. Why would you even want that?
DAI was my first Dragon Age game. It was the first DA game for a lot of us. Likewise, Veilguard will be the first game for a whole new generation of future DA fans. And they matter. Their experience matters. I wouldn't have given the first two games a chance to begin with if I hadn't loved DAI, and I loved DAI because it made itself accessible to new players. Yes, there were cameos, and call backs, but that wasn't the entire point of the game. I don't imagine many people would have cared for DAI if it couldn't stand on it's own.
The same goes for DATV. Yes, it's part of a series, but it also needs to stand on its own., and I respect the Devs for putting the integrity of the game and it's narrative (and finite rendering/compression capabilities) above all else.

Anything for our resident Irish man? You know who I mean
Hello! So sorry for answering your question so late, life has been busy for me. I'm assuming your talking about O'Connor, and I've finally found the time to write down some hcs, enjoy!
° Knows every single pick up line, he knows his way around woman.
° Gets along really well with both Gibbo and Trots, he agrees with Trots most of the time but there are others where he seems to be agreeing with Gibbo.
° Sometimes writes love letters to himself about Mary, always keeps it hidden. Caz did find one of them and started to read it out loud in the canteen, O’Connor refused to talk to anyone that whole week.
° O’Connor is roughly around 5’11, tallest crew member being Raffs (6’3)
° Always hated skating, but the thing he hates even more is ice skating, he could never control his balance, even when holding onto the railings and whatnot. But, he’ll always join his Mary as she loves it more then he does.
° VERY GOOD at pool, if he and Rennick were to compete against each other then there would be war in the crew lounge. And also a free job for scouting the pontoons.
° Speaking of Rennick, he doesn’t actually have an opinion on him, at least not too many bad opinions. Though he isn’t very supportive of how Rennick treats the rig, especially when it comes to the pontoon operations.
° Not the best at singing or playing any other instrument, but he is very fluent in playing the piano.
° Has way too many health issues, it’s surprising how long he’s lived for with all these problems, did in fact pee himself one time, Gibbo was the first to acknowledge and Trots unfortunately had to clean it up for him. Poor Trots.
° Has broken way too many bones in his life, specifically his left arm. Nobody knows why it’s always the left arm that gets broken.
° Although he has broken many of bones, he sometimes pretends that he twisted his feet all the time. Though Brodie wasn’t aware of this the first time and immediately tried to convince Rennick to call a hospital chopper.
° Loves pottery, he’s used to his hands being quite dirty so this never really bothered him too much. One time he tried to make a swan for Mary’s birthday, but it ended up looking like a cat that got ran over 3 times. She didn’t mind it though, actually she thought it was quite charming.
° Pretty decent at darts, though not as good as Finlay or Brodie. Speaking of Finlay, he gets along with her well, though still quite scared of her just like the rest of the crew members.
° Addair disgusts him, his views on the world is something he wished Addair kept to himself. Whenever he gets the chance, he’ll rip immigrant posters down from his walls and throw them in the bin.
° Has a bad habit of whistling all the time, many people told him to shut up because of it.
° Talk ill of Mary and you’ll start wishing Rennick called a hospital chopper for you.

[Sam Winchester] - Unlikely Places
♫ - Fallingforyou - The 1975
Kansas was beautiful in the fall. The sidewalks are filled with an array of red and orange leaves, and the weather is cool and dry. When fall arrived, it filled the days with a nostalgic atmosphere that was perfect for long night walks and hot drinks. Or, in your case, sitting on the porch bench with a hot drink, instead. You were too tired to go out, tonight, and so you opted for the comfort of a blanket and some hot chocolate, and to your surprise, company.
Sam Winchester had been your closest friend for as long as you could remember. You had done everything together, really. Played pranks on adults (but mostly Dean), seen each other through heartaches, seen each other through joy, been everywhere together. You were often described as inseparable, and where one went, the other was sure to follow. He'd been your confidant, and you his, and you were so grateful he stuck around you for as long as he had.
These nights were perfect for reminiscing, and who better to do it with than Sam.
"Hey," you started, cuddling closer under the blanket with him. "You remember in elementary school when it came down to us two in the class spelling bee, and I beat you because you couldn't spell 'intrigue'?"
Sam chuckled and shook his mane of hair.
"Yeah, I do. You got me by one letter. One letter! I still beat you at chess that one time, though."
"Never going to let me live that one down, are you?"
"Never," he smiled down at you, and you merely raised a brow and feigned a huff.
"Well, I believe this night is over." You pretended to stand, but he pulled you back. "Good night, Winchester."
"Oh come on," he poked your tongue back in after you stuck it out at him. " Is it that hard to admit that I'm clever?"
"Yes."
Sam stared at you point blank, and you glared back, before you both erupted into laughter again, taking a sip of your drink. You rested your head against his arm, and he leaned his head against your own, just savouring in each other's presence. You'd had many moments like this, sat in quiet thought with Sam, but tonight, you were feeling different. You shrugged it off, trying to ignore it.
"Hey, Y/n," Sam started, making sure you were awake. "Remember when we almost got murdered by those demons, but you practically hijacked a taxi and saved our asses?"
"There's no practically about it, Sam. I definitely hijacked that taxi. Poor guy, must've been in shock."
"Wouldn't you be, some pretty individual engages you in the politest hijacking ever?" Sam laughed, and you stared at him.
"Sam, did you.."
"Ignore that," he stopped you, going a little red.
"Did you just call me polite? Ew!"
Sam's face was blank, he knew you were playing but a tiny part of him didn't want you to catch it. But the big part of him knew that you heard him fair and square call you pretty. Which wasn't a lie. Sam thought you were beautiful, but he didn't want you to know that. He didn't want to jeopardize whatever this was in case you didn't feel the same.
"Earth to Winchester, hello?" You waved your hand in front of his face, and he shook his head.
"Yeah, I'm here."
"Thought I'd lost ya there. For the record, I appreciate the compliment, and I do think you're quite the handsome man yourself."
You leaned up to peck his cheek, something you had done before, but this time it felt different. Maybe those feelings you had about this night weren't misplaced, or wrong. Maybe there was something more than friendship between you.
"Sam, listen, I-"
Sam, in fact, didn't listen. He kissed you instead. It was quick, but felt like it lasted a lifetime. He pulled back, scanning your face for any sign of something bad. To his surprise and relief, nothing.
"Wow, I never thought you would be stupid enough to try that, Winchester," you spoke lowly, a joking tone backing your words.
"Yeah, well, you're here with me so that makes you stupid, too."
He raised his brows and nodded, agreeing with himself as if he had just proved the biggest point on the planet. When he'd finished playing, he became a little more serious again. Almost worried, in fact.
"You don't hate me right?" he started, and you saw the anxious little boy you remembered all those years ago. "I mean, I've felt like this about you for a while. And, you know, I'd be a fool not to because you are just amazing. Inside and out, you're beautiful, and I got worried that like... you know, what if you didn't like me that way?"
You giggled, not mockingly, but in awe. He was beautiful, and it was adorable to watch him fumble for an explanation.
"Oh, Sam, look. I thought you would have been smart enough to figure it out on your own. I've felt like we're more than friends for so long. I just didn't act in case you didn't like me like that. I think you're so handsome, and you could have anyone, I didn't think you would choose me,"
"Y/N, I would choose you over anyone."
Sam smiled down at you, his whole face lighting up with love. His eyes twinkled, and you reached up to cup his face. Stroking your thumb across his cheek, you leaned in again, and he crashed his lips into yours. Pulling you closer, Sam entangled his hands into your hair, and you were breathless. Pulling back, you both chuckled. Sam was the first to speak.
"Dean is gonna be so righteous about this, you know?"
You cocked your brow. "Oh?"
"Well, he's been asking me when we're gonna get on with this relationship because you can see, and I quote, 'see your pining from Kentucky.' You know, like he does."
"He's such an ass, but we love him."
Your drinks had since gone cold, but it didn't matter. You were safe and content, a new relationship on the horizon and no doubt fifty questions and smug remarks from the other Winchester the next day, nothing could ruin the moment. You both watched the Kansas sunset go down, and the stars come out, as you snuggled under the blanket and basked in each others presence.
"You know," Sam broke the silence. "I remember when you said you are attracted to brains over anything, but I definitely saw you checking my butt out the other day."
"Shut up. Sam! No you did not."
"I swear!"
The night ended with you both laughing, cuddling and for the first time in forever, being truly content. This was all you wanted, and all you could ask for. Someone to act stupid with. Someone to cry with. Someone who just understands you.
You found your someone in the most unlikely places, and that was Sam Winchester.
Thank you for reading! <3

onk spoilers (161)
Sorry, I really can't keep quiet about this because this series has been my brainrot for the past couple months and this is pretty..;; hehe.. depending on how it plays out, it will determine how I'll feel about this entire work completely. So bear with me for the next few weeks!
There are a few panels that really stand out in terms of expressions that really bug me, this guy could be acting. Putting the rest in the read-more, I'm vagueposting but still, I feel it's better manners to do so.. I'm sorry for being unable to keep to myself. I hope you understand though, I've been drawing something for this series almost every single day!
There are a few really genuine-looking ones and those.. could be interpreted as him being concerned over Aqua, it's not really my wishful thinking because he's actually persuading his son to think of things he must live for, regardless of what thoughts and intent he has behind it. He DOES want Aqua to live, and when Aqua says he'd give up on that, he has the exact same face he had when he fell in despair in the movie arc (when Ai said she'd leave him/when Airi gaslit him). I think that expression IS real. And he's really shocked when Aqua.. yeah, does what he does. So I don't think he likes the idea of Aqua dying.
I've been looking at this character a lot, and came to a conclusion that his smiles are masks. I've mentioned this a few times in my earlier analyses regarding him and in one post, I wrote:
That smile he floats is consistent through the entire time he's shown in the story and the only times it breaks is when it has to do with Ai and when she sees him through. And it starts to break the moment he sees her talking about him. Every expression he makes when he sees Ai in the video are his true feelings. His smiles, on the other hand, are his coping mechanism and are all masks.
so I actually feel this is the case this time too, the author wouldn't have made this guy a genius actor who's TAUGHT Ai to act for nothing... The whole chapter starts out with his expression being expressionless, then forming a smile, just before he starts saying everything onwards. And by doing this, he IS actually talking to his son to forget about killing him and go on living his own life while sounding pretty evil...
but that means we can't believe the god or whatever she says either, so that's why I don't know. She was wrong about Ryosuke and "a middle school boy" having gone to the hospital once if Kamiki never went and it was really Nino, but would she be TOTALLY off in this case? I have no idea. That's what makes it confusing for me and have a lot less hope on how things will unveil, but the expression cues do say something... if it weren't for her, I'd say he's acting.. but the things she mentions about him are just too...that of a third-rate villain and it's so nonredeemable. If that is right, the whole idea of Ai having wanted to help him is sort of thrown out the window. They DIDN'T need to make her say that... it was so WISE of her to leave a guy like him, and all her visions of him were wrong, you know?
So I'm just.. wondering how much we need to trust the crow.
I thought I could trust her, but how much does she actually know?;
Or maybe it IS true that Kamiki's done some hideous things the way she's depicted it, and yet he doesn't want his SON to be the same way.
If there's one thing I can pick up from this chapter that's going to be released... it'd be that Kamiki doesn't want Aqua to die. He thinks there's many reasons for Aqua to go on living. If you pay careful attention to his speech, that's what he's actually talking about... he actually looked a little relieved when Aqua agrees he has a lot to live for and that breaks when Aqua still refuses.
Yeah.. I think.. I'll stick around a bit more actually. The part that REALLY bothers me is what Tsukuyomi says, if that's really true.. ehh.....it's a huge let-down for me I don't like that. It's not a very good way to use this character. It's really dumb and I don't think it works but if the author says so; okay?? but I won't feel the need to collect the physical volumes any further if that's true. That's just me though.

Blitz's Horse Ranch - Sims 4
I did it, I made a lovely little ranch for Blitz, Stolas, Via, & Loona. Here's some pics. (Horse count is around 30 last I checked, btw)
Exterior Shots: Front, Front Porch, Back - I'm not a great builder, it looks big but all of the rooms are somehow so small? IDK, but we ran with what we built. (also most intricate roofing job of my life i swear) Landscaping was done with Stolas in mind, I think he'd keep it all looking very pretty... I'll do the back at some point, plus probably put a little garden out there. We also have a telescope on the second story deck and a nectar making station for Blitz on the back porch lmao
Interior:
Foyer/Kitchen/Dining Room - I tried to pull in little pieces where I could, apart from all the horses, but also the polaroids & photos on the wall. (I intend to play with them, so all the blank frames are there to fill during gameplay.)
Informal Family Room - I spent like twenty minutes choosing a couch... this is about where I lost my commitment to using as much of the Horse Ranch pack as I could... I still think I used a whole lot, though.
Formal Living Room/Bar Room - IDK what this is, but I know Stolas got to design it (there's also a lovely bar back that for some reason just wasn't showing up while I was taking these screenshots?? It's not just that little bar on that side of the room I swear)
Guest Room (For when Millie & Moxxie come over) - Very simple, because for the most part this is just an extra room where I'll probably keep skill items.
Primary Bedroom & En Suite - Blitz & Stolas - I tried to really lean into a story here, I love coming up with a story as I'm building, and this story... well, I think it's clear to see that there were many battles when they were moving in together. Stolas won when it came to picking out furniture, but he obviously caved for some of Blitz's design choices... namely the monstrosity of a rug. He hates it because its' ugly, but he loves it because Blitz loved it enough to offer sexual favors for a month if they could buy it. (An empty bribe, it's not like that wasn't going to happen anyway.)
Loona's Room & En Suite - You can probably tell that I started getting bored once I got upstairs... I've been doing this for about eight hours, I'll definitely go back in and add more to the upstairs, but this is what we have for now for Loona. (Claw marks are there bc of nightmares, just so you have that angsty backstory I came up with.)
Via's Room - I feel bad because its so small, I'm already planning to renovate it, but this is what I got for now.
Stolas's Reading Room - This was the first room I decorated and it probably shows, but honestly I loved making him a little library/reading nook here. He also has a cow plant, and once it's seasonally appropriate in-game, he'll get a little garden out back.
I also made them and started playing (Blitz rescued his first horse, Sunbeam). This is the only screen shot I remembered to take, and Loona started walking away as I took it - rude - but they were all just sat together in the family room watching a movie it was so sweet!
I did make Stolas & Via spellcasters, and Loona a werewolf. (I'll have to throw my Angel & Molly into this save as their neighbors.)

WHO AND WHAT I WRITE FOR!!
Do yourself and me the favor of reading this before sending in asks or requests.
Speaking of requests, mine are currently OPEN!
You can find the request status here at all times so you know if you can send one in or if you should wait.
You can find my main Masterlist here.
I'll add anything I write to it so that's the place to go for an overview of my works.
What I DON'T write.
Incest
Bestiality
Pregnancy (Pregnancy is 1. possibly triggering for me and 2. something I have absolutely no experience in. Breeding kink is more than okay though)
Non-Con (CNC is all good, but not outright Non-Con)
Scat and/or urine
Anything involving minors.
What I DO write!
Smut and fluff are my go-to but feel free to throw angst, humor and anything else you can think of at me! I'll gladly try and do it justice. I really want to get better at writing horror, gore and spooky shit so if you have ideas or requests in that area, definitely send them in!
I myself am genderfluid and am completely good with writing Male, GN and Female readers! I am most familiar with the AFAB experience.
Trans readers are also always welcome, and I do have a bit of personal experience in that area. Same with queerness in the sexuality sense - Gay, Bi, Lesbian, Poly and everything else is totally fine by me to write about, either for a reader or a character.
I'm a very kinky fucker and I encourage you all to let your kinks run rampant in my ask box, my comments or tags, as long as you pay attention to my "do not write" list because those things also shouldn't be mentioned in any of those areas.
Gladly send me any type of asks! I'd love to interact with you, geek out about a character or movie together, or give advice (where I can). I want to be a positive presence and will reply in kind.
We support sex work of any kind in this household and any hate for sex workers will not be tolerated. Same as any hate towards marginalized groups - Be that homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, racism or anything else. Please just shut up and stay away from my blog. Thanks.

English isn't my first language so I am aware that there will probably be some mistakes along the way. If you see one, please let me know and I will see to it that I get it fixed. I also have to ask that you aren't mean about it. Mistakes happen and I will not be made to feel bad or be talked down to over a typo, grammatical error or any other type of mistake.
If you send in an ask or a request; Be patient! Sometimes it takes me a bit of time to get into the right mindset to write, and to write confidently. I also have a life outside of this blog which will always take first priority. So if your request or ask hasn't been answered yet, know that I will get to it. And if you send in a request while mine are closed I'll simply let you know, no judgment or anger.
I hope you enjoy my writing, my rambles and anything else I might post.

Hey do you think Jamil has trouble seeing people his age as peers?
Like, growing up having to be a caretaker to a guy literally a few months older than him, always expected to act like the adult in the situation, expected to work with adults and adopt their perspectives and pick up their slack. Do you think he just, forgets sometimes?
I mean we've seen him go into caretaker mode with other sophomores, and the only people I've seen him take seriously are juniors like Vil who also act much older than they should have to (his reactions to Leona look more like a trauma response and I don't wanna get into it here). People like Malleus and Cater still somewhat get the caretaker treatment. Like I just highly doubt that he subconsciously realizes he's actually part of his age group
Aaand that inevitably brings up Azul, who also acts like he thinks he's older than he is. Whether you're looking at it from a shipping angle or not, he reacts to Azul like an actual peer. With older students, he seems more in his element but there's still a status hierarchy which he compulsively reacts to. With Azul he doesn't acknowledge any status worth respecting or see him as someone who needs to be looked after. He just bickers like an equal, in a way that implies he actually does see Azul as a real peer, like subconsciously he's categorized this guy into the same group as himself, who was previously alone on that level (he gets like this more with the twins too, over time, but it seems to start with Azul).
And my favorite part about this is, while that response stems from them both acting more like adults in general, they elicit a pettiness from each other which drags them both down to actually acting their own age, and I just love that. Their characters are perfect foils for each other and it seems to make them both less isolated in a way.

Celestin Caron (Dragon Age: Awakening)
Age: 38 (9:31 Dragon)
Gender: Male
Tarot: The Emperor
Nationality/Ethnicity: Chasind/Orlesian-Antivan
Class/Specializations: Mage, Blood Mage/Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer/Shapeshifter (Lvl 31)
Love Interest: Seneschal Varel of Vigil's Keep
Party Comp.: Nathaniel/Justice, Anders, and Sigrun (But rotates with all pretty regularly)
Background: Born in 8:93 to a Chasind mother and an Orlesian-Antivan father, Caelesyn Caron lived in the familiar swamps of the Kocari Wilds until they were forced to leave due to increasing Templar raids. His father took them to Orlais to live with his family, living in serfdom under an Orlesian noble around Val Firmin. Caelesyn, now called Celestin, developed magic at age 8, and was aided by his parents to hide it.
He was discovered at 19 after a confrontation with the Orlesian noble, and evaded Templars for 5 days until he was caught and locked away in the White Spire. On grounds of good behaviour and a vouch from the Senior Enchanter, he was allowed to entertain nobles in the Imperial Wintersend Ball for a few years until the Enchanter is replaced, and so his sliver of freedom was ripped away. Short after, he received news of his parents' deaths. He escaped and made his way to a Grey Warden outpost in Val Chevin, where he became part of the Wardens.
Returning to Ferelden was, as best as it could be described, a reverse-culture shock. He wasn't back down in the Kocari Wilds but now in the north, dealing with nobles that didn't act like Orlesian nobles. His Chasind roots alienated him from Orlesians, but his Orlesian mannerisms and Chasind influences also alienated him from the Fereledans. And that is ignoring his status as a mage, and one that now held land property as the Arl of Amaranthine.
But, he is a Warden with a Duty. And he would fulfill his roles to the best of his abilities.

Thinking about. That one post about art. And how it's never good enough. Since you're the one that made it. And how. It might relate to how I view myself?

It's such a tiny innocuous thing that really doesn't matter, but I feel like calling duel monsters a children's card game (when it's fundamentally baked into everyday life, and your social existence is judged by what you play and how you play it so very intensely, for everyone in-universe) is an absolute injustice to what it is for that universe of people.
