I saw a handlettering video by @letterwithlaurenliz and I just loved her style and the way she explained everything. Watching these videos, everything always looks so easy, but when I tried it myself it actually took me a half hour to make each line! This is my final piece finished after more than a week of drafts, experiments and failures! In the end I just hope the recipient really enjoys it and is moved by it. The more I do this lettering gig, the more I realize what makes me enjoy it so much. It's about making other people happy, creating gifts and cards that are so personal that they always touch the heart. I've been doing cards like this for the people that matter to me all my life, but now I feel like I can actually start to make them appear more and more professional. I've got a long way to go, but it's good when you at least know the direction in which you're going. P.S.: It was so fun doing the wax seal on the envelope! This is such an important lesson for me. If I wrote a list of all the things that I started and never finished, I could probably fill all of my empty diaries, planners and organizers that I've bought over the years, not to mention hundreds of books, projects and hobbies that I pursued for exactly a month. I thought this little hobby of mine was on its way to join all my other rejects, but I'm happy to say that three years in, it's still going (with some breaks 😊). Today we celebrate St George's day in Bulgaria and in many other places around the world! It's an extra special day for my family because it's my mom's name day. We are going to sit down for a Viber lunch in a bit and it just makes me even more grateful to have our little family together. For this piece I wanted to do something special using some colored pencils for the first time. I experimented a little bit with this one...I can already tell that flourishes aren't really my thing, so I decided to replace them with elements from the Braille alphabet, (which is so cool btw!).
