Note
if your beidou.exe series says anything, you know a LOT about meta, so here's a fun challenge for you!! pick one character from each element to be the best, or the top three, or whatever. caveat: if you're taking constellations into account, you gotta compare them all at c6, yes, even bennett lmfao. or just leave them out entirely. your choice!!! and only if you want to ofc lol
Well now, if this isn't the most interesting ask I've gotten in a while . . .
I haven't so much as touched meta with any sense of seriousness since 2.6, but with all of the characters that came out after that and - of course - Dendro Impact, it leaves a LOT of room for interpretation and debate.
But as of late, I find myself going back to my roots, and simply because of that? Sure. I'll entertain this little inquiry of yours, anon.
Buckle up. It's going to get technical as hell up in here.
What Even Is Genshin Impact Meta Anymore: The Analysis (Before 3.6, Phase 2)
Introduction
To give a brief overview, I got this ask, and I'm answering the way I like to for this sort of thing: Thoroughly. I would wait for Baizhu and Kaveh to come out, but the analyses, guides, and stats wouldn't be out for at least another day and let's be honest, I'll probably forget about this ask and then I'll feel bad, so this will likely be speculative.
I will be drawing from a variety of resources as well as using images and charts showing statistics. This is partially my own opinion, but I will also be using other sources to back this up and present alternate views. I will put these sources at the end of this post so that you will have access to form your own opinions.
So, without further ado, let's get this started, shall we?
The Elements
Before ranking the characters, I'm going to rank the elements in Genshin Impact as well as their usages. Meta in this regard has changed a great deal and it has changed the game itself immensely, as shown by this chart and this breakdown (source link in the images as well as provided in the sources):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So in this regard, the elements will be ranked here from top to bottom respectively as well as given their reasonings for being there (links and sources provided).
Rankings:
Hydro
Electro
Dendro
Cryo
Pyro
Anemo
Geo
This list is not necessarily one of best to worst per se, but more of what the element can do as applied to gameplay.
Geo, in this sense, is quite a simple element. The only elemental reactions they have are Crystalize and Elemental Resonance, which is an elemental shield (Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, or Electro) and increases Geo damage, decreases Geo resistance on enemies, and ups shield strengths respectively. Not bad if that's what you're looking for in a team.
I don't find Anemo to be as much of an offensive element as a support. The Swirl reaction infuses other elements (Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, or Electro) and increases the damage as well as spreads out the effect. The Elemental Resonance decreases Stamina consumption as well as increases speed and shortens Skill cooldowns. This would be useful, especially if you're reliant on Elemental Reactions in your team.
Note: Elemental Resonance in the following elements will not be as emphasized as it does not mean as much as the reactions themselves.
Pyro is one of the elements that I had a bit of contest trying to put in the rankings, but I find that it is slightly more reactive when it comes to elements as opposed to Geo and Anemo. Reactions such as Vaporizing (Hydro + Pyro) and Burgeon (Dendro + Hydro/Pyro) pack a pretty powerful punch if used in the right way.
From what I've seen and what I personally think, Cryo is well-placed in the middle as it is slightly more effective in gameplay with the Frozen reaction (Cryo + Hydro). Although it's not as reactive to Dendro as other elements, it has its own more powerful reactions such as Superconduct (Cryo + Electro) and Melt (Cryo + Pyro) that can often repeat themselves with the right plays and teams.
The newest playable element Dendro finds itself at number three for me. Although the Burning (Dendro + Pyro) reaction has been a mainstay of the game since it launched, the newest reactions of Bloom (Dendro + Hydro) and Quicken (Dendro + Electro) not only changed the way we understand the gameplay but the teams as well. I see the element as a base rather than a catalyst, but with the addition of the other elements of Electro, Hydro, and Pyro, it's a serious contender for being in the top three.
Electro has been through a few rough patches in its existence, but as of right now in the game, it's arguably one of the best to have. The reactions of Aggravate (Quicken + Electro) and Spread (Quicken + Dendro) are a staple in Dendro/Electro-centric teams, although the Electro-charged (Electro + Hydro) and Overloaded (Electro + Pyro) should not be discounted by any means.
The number one element from what I've seen and my own opinion would be Hydro due to the Hyperbloom (Bloom + Electro) reaction and the respective characters that can cause such a reaction on a large scale. In the event that there comes a new character that can do other things with Dendro, Hydro would likely be swapped, but as of now, those reactions along with Cryo, Pyro, and Electro make it the most versatile element in the game.
Note: Electro's and Hydro's placements respectively were quite difficult to determine due to their utility and variety of reactions, especially when it comes to the newer Dendro gameplay, but the reason I put them in the places I did ultimately comes down to the versatility of a few characters.
The Characters
With that out of the way, I will now establish my criteria for meta-esque characters. Meta according to the community at large are the characters used most often in the Spiral Abyss, which is widely considered to be the endgame. This is fair, as a variety of mobs and bosses are grouped together on the same floors to the point where they have even started to utilize the elemental reactions that players have used against them for so long.
However, I'm also going to be including the usage in other team comps outside of their usual roles as well as their utility passives for the reasonings that these would be useful for becoming meta and conserving resources and time. Player gaming ability will not be taken into consideration and seeing as you have also asked for me to use C6 constellations, I will also assume that this will mean near-perfect artifacts and ideal R5 weapons as well.
I'll be ranking the characters by the top three in their respective elements as well as listing their stats, notable attributes, and preferred builds for different teams. This does not mean as a DPS, but rather overall. Although I did list the ranking of elements, this will not necessarily be heavily considered as much as how much this element can be applied.
This analysis will be borrowed from some reliable sources as well as my own interpretations of what meta really means. The way I'm going to be ranking meta characters is going to be with three factors:
Usage in the Spiral Abyss
Utility/Versatility in Teams
Usage in the Overworld
With this established, we can now rank them according to the criteria that have been set (links to the sources for builds provided in the sources).
Rankings:
Hydro -
Yelan (Main/Sub-DPS/Support)
Sangonomiya Kokomi (Sub-DPS/Support)
Kamisato Ayato (Main/Sub-DPS)

Arataki Itto (Main-DPS)
Albedo (Sub-DPS/Support)
Honorable Mentions: Noelle (Main/Sub-DPS/Support), Yun Jin (Sub-DPS/Support), Gorou (Support)
Conclusion
So in this sense, I believe that this is what you were looking for, yes?
Obviously, this isn't like the insanely deep dive you may ascribe my longer posts to, but trust, I still had to have some resources to back some of my stuff up. Go and dig around a little, you'll be pleasantly surprised with what you find in there.
In terms of the team compilations, they're endless. I've seen absolutely ridiculous builds from certain Youtubers like Cwack on Crack, so anything could work provided you have the build for it.
I must also say that this is under the guise that one could afford this insanity and to them I say: Have fun, kids. All of this analysis is with the maxed-out stuff in mind, and even the most detested units become akin to gods when pushed to the limit.
Thanks for the ask, and I'll see you around or when I see you. Happy meta mashing to you.
Do you have any idea how terrifying it is to see a Kokomi with a 30% CRIT Rate? I'm scared of the person who has something built like that.

The Unsung Electro Gigachad of Genshin Impact (Also Known As: Beidou Mains Come Get Y’all’s Agenda Post)
Introduction:
You’re probably wondering what has caused me to ponder this question and I’ll be honest with you, it started with a shitpost.
Rawfler is a pretty funny guy who makes funny Genshin memes, some high-quality Genshin Impact character shitposts, and showcases that present the potential that they can reach given the right artifacts, weapons, and constellations all in one quick 4-5 minute Youtube videos. They’re typically titled ‘[Character].exe’ and I’ve watched all of them multiple times because I find them entertaining. The link to his channel is where his name is mentioned.
That context aside, I was called to the attention of a certain character that (as a four-star no less) was absolutely badass. It didn’t help that they were mentioned so much in the ‘Diluc Harem AU’ (crackery) that I did a little bit of reading up on them. This character that I am discussing today does not get the appreciation they deserve because, if utilized correctly, is absolutely devastating to an almost broken effect.
This character? None other than Beidou.
This entire post can be summarized as this quote that’s thrown about everywhere in this fanbase:
There are no bad characters. Only bad players.
And bold of you to assume that this analysis is only going to apply to the killable things in Genshin Impact and not the vast majority of the characters themselves.
So folks, we’re diving yet again into the absolute madladery that is the Captain of the Crux. Hold on tight, because it gets wild.
(Spoilers for Beidou’s story quest underneath the cut because I may be out of pocket, but I’m not yet out of line. TL;DR is also at the end of this post.)
Character, Story, & Lore:
SPOILERS FOR BEIDOU HANGOUT AND BACKSTORY
You can’t say you weren’t warned.
. . .
Genshin Impact has a chronic case of MOD, also known as ‘Making Orphans Disease’ and I’m afraid it’s gone too far for any cure to be effective. Every playable character better get their affairs in order and Beidou is no exception to this.
She didn’t really have anyone as a child. Fought dying dogs for scraps of food in a backwater village in Liyue. She was called ‘Beidou’ but didn’t really know what it meant. At least not until the village elder who took her in died and the village was plagued with the ailments that type of village would suffer regardless of if he was dead or alive.
It’s not really said how she ended up with her crew and the Crux in Liyue Harbor, but she had made quite the name for herself. But the defining moment of her story lies in an encounter with Haishan.
It could almost be seen as a nod from nature itself that her dream of slaying Haishan with a single blow to the neck would be placed within her reach. After days of arduous fighting in her fleet with her crew, she dealt that fatal blow, Haishan’s head flying off as the stump of his neck was sliced clean and true. Then as she stood, drenched in the blood of that beast, her prize, an Electro Vision, was granted to her.
A long way from being a starving little girl, fighting for half a rice ball in the dirt with a dog that clung just as desperately to life as she did.
To put it simply, Beidou came from the dregs of the barrel and clawed her way to the top; doing that takes a willingness to do whatever it takes not only get there, but protect what she had gained along the way.
. . .
It’s likely very romantic or philosophically stupid of me to make the connections, but I find that the character themselves can often be reflected in their statistics and base setup, so this time, I’ve decided to start with her proper introduction.
I’ve decided to use character, story, and lore as to highlight factors in how they would conduct themselves and how they would fight. I see it as particularly influential as to the outcome of these theoretical circumstances.
Notes & Disclaimers:
Firstly, the sources and information that I will use for this post are the Genshin Impact Wiki page for Beidou, the ‘Genshin Impact BEIDOU.EXE’ video by Rawfler, and the Beidou Guide by ZΛNTO on the Keqing Mains website. Without them, collecting this information would be much harder and I would have to do more math on top of analysis, so thank them for cutting the length of this document in half.
Secondly, as per last post, there’s a lot of numbers and terminology incoming, so I will try to explain it well. It’ll mostly be percentages and base numbers we have to work with. Again, in terms of the system that the wiki has at this present moment, some of these statistics may have been adjusted, so pardon if the numbers seem off for the current version of the game at the time of this post being published.
In terms of buffs, this will be a bit different, as I will include all constellations, specialty weapons, and artifacts at the highest level possible. The numbers and enhancements being brought into this are to ensure that we hit the maximum level that is possible for Beidou as a Main DPS that focuses on any type of Attack Damage for the purposes of this analysis.
Also, as a side note, I won’t be adding a basic synopsis as I already have the link to it in the beginning of this section.
With that out of the way, let’s jump into some stats.
Gameplay Statistics:
For the sake of this analysis, the damage economy of Genshin Impact gameplay is highly important, so for the sake of it, I will post it here again. The damage economy is calculated in this order:
Attack - the base attack damage from the character and the weapon of the character (including all of their skills, buffs from weapons, and all that good stuff) Talent Scaling - the combat talents and passive talents that enhance the character’s respective combative abilities Damage Bonus - the types of damage (plunging, charged, etc.) and their respective bonuses per according to the character Critical Hit - randomized and influenced by the critical rate Defense (on target) - reduces damage per according to their base defense Resistances (on target) - reduces damage per according to their elemental and physical attributes Elemental Reactions - the way that the element(s) being used will react to the element(s) it comes into contact with
(This is actually important now)
The most important statistics for this analysis are Attack Damage (ATK), Critical Hit Rate (CRIT Rate), Critical Hit Damage (CRIT DMG), and Elemental Damage ([Element] DMG). However, there is also a special attention to health points and Elemental Reactions, as they are affected by Beidou’s talent scaling and Elemental Mastery respectively.
Blink twice if you need help. Your eyes have to be hurting already.
Attack damage is the damage they deal with their hits, critical hit rate is how often they land a critical hit and the critical damage itself deals 50% more damage than a typical one in terms of the flat rate.
Elemental damageessentially inflicts the damage of a respective element onto a creature hit with an Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst while also giving it that status effect for a certain amount of time.
I feel like health points are self-explanatory, but if not, it’s how many points a character can lose before hitting zero and being rendered null. Elemental Mastery is the reactions of elements being inflicted in a certain order as to incur higher elemental damage (bonuses being 1.5 and 2 times as much respective to elements and order, more can be found here).
Now that we know this, we can now take a look at Beidou’s flat statistics.
Base Character Statistics:
Without any account for weaponry, special attributes, or artifacts, the base statistics for Beidou at the highest level possible (Level 90) are as follows:
Health Points: 13,050 Attack: 225 Defense: 648 Critical Hit Rate: 5% Special Stat: Electro Damage Bonus of 24%
So, the first thing you notice immediately is how much health she has in comparison to her base defense and base attack. Over 13,000 health is nothing to laugh at, but her other stats don’t give an indication as to why she would need it. That is, until you look at her attacks and her Electro Damage Bonus, telling you that whenever Beidou uses her Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, she is automatically doing more damage than most other characters without a similar set.
This leads me to believe that her health points have some correlation with her skill and burst.
Combat Talents and Passive Talents:
Yet again, I feel the need to break down the basis of this subject because it is expansive and in dire need of summary. Feel free to skip this if you’re familiar.
Combat Talents consist of four things: Normal Attacks, Elemental Skills, Alternate Sprint, and Elemental Bursts. Normal Attacks come into three types: Normal Attack, Charged Attack, and Plunge Attack, each with their own respective effects. Normal Attacks are consecutive blows, Charged Attacks typically include either Elemental Damage or increased Physical Damage, and the Plunge Attack occur from mid-air and typically cause an ‘Area of Effect’ (AoE).
The ‘Alternate Sprint’ skill doesn’t include Beidou, so it won’t be mentioned here.
Beidou’s Combat Talents are as follows:
Special Base Skill: N/A (I looked and I think it only applies to five stars, correct me if I’m wrong) Normal Attack: Oceanborne (Five consecutive strikes); continuous strikes using stamina, ending with a final slash; normal plunge attacks Elemental Skill: Tidecaller  Press: Swings an lightning-infused attack, dealing Electro Damage Hold: Lifts weapon up as a shield, the maximum damage that is absorbed scales off maximum health points; the attacks using the energy stored within the greatsword upon willing release or once the duration expires, dealing Electro Damage, the said damage scaling with the number of times the character is attacked in the skill's duration. The greatest Damage Bonus will be attained once this effect is triggered twice (hit her twice while holding).  Shield: Has 250% Electro Damage Absorption Efficiency; applies the Electro element upon activation Elemental Burst: Stormbreaker Thunderbeast’s Targe: When Normal and Charged Attacks hit, they create a lightning discharge that jump between opponents, dealing additional Electro Damage while also decreasing damage and increasing resistance to interruptions (of hitting things) to the character (considered AoE)
That skill is really damn impressive for a Meliodas kinnie joking joking please don’t kill me
So you can say that my analysis so far has lead me to believe that Elemental Bursts were typically more of a final move, but Beidou’s build is unique in the way her Elemental Burst complements, if not intensifies, the importance of her Elemental Skill. This, combined with her Electro Damage Bonus, makes her capable of one-shotting some smaller opponents. Mind you, we haven’t started taking passive talents into consideration yet, let alone constellations, weapons, or artifacts.
Passive Talents typically improve upon the Combat Talents of the respective character in question. The Utility Passives are not to be taken into account for the reasons that they have no reason being in a comparison for the true Electro Archon.
Her Passive Talents are as follows:
1st Ascendant Passive: Counterattacking with Tidecaller at the precise moment when the character is hit grants the maximum DMG Bonus (getting rid of the need to use Tidecaller twice). 4th Ascendant Passive: Gain the following effects for ten seconds after using Tidecaller (Elemental Skill) with its maximum damage bonus: The damage dealt by Normal and Charged Attacks, along with the attack speed of Normal and Charged Attacks, is increased by 15% while also greatly reducing delay before unleashing Charged Attacks
Beidou Mains scare me, but Beidou whales scare me more.
Remember, we haven’t even covered any buffs we can get with the weapons, constellations, and artifacts yet. So with the information above, we can now start to establish the most powerful Main DPS Beidou build possible.
Constellations:
Constellations serve as buffs making already powerful skills all that more deadly for those on the receiving end of them while also enhancing the capabilities of the character themselves.
Beidou’s respective constellations and their effects are as follows:
Sea Beast's Scourge: When Elemental Burst is used, creates a shield that absorbs up to 16% of maximum health for fifteen seconds (this shield also absorbs Electro Damage 250% more effectively) Upon the Turbulent Sea, the Thunder Arises: Elemental Burst’s arc lightning can jump to two additional targets Summoner of Storm: Increases the Level of Elemental Skill by three, the maximum upgrade level being 15 Stunning Revenge: Upon being attacked, Normal Attacks gain an additional instance of 20% Electro Damage for ten seconds Crimson Tidewalker: Increases the Level of Elemental Burst by three, the maximum upgrade level being 15 Bane of Evil: During the duration of the Elemental Burst, the Electro Resistance of surrounding opponents is decreased by 15%
Do I scream from the rooftops that all of this shit is just maximum character stats without any artifacts or is this too much? Because anyone who goes up against her is in for a world of pain.
This is where I get to have proper fun because of the extensive Beidou build guide I mentioned earlier. From this point forward, about 80% of everything I’m referencing is from there.
Artifacts:
So uh, artifacts. What are they? How do they work? The link is here. For the sake of this analysis, however, I’ll do a crash course:
Artifacts are objects that you can get to enhance certain character stats
Each artifact has a main stat, with up to four sub stats or secondary stats
There are five types of artifacts: the Flower of Life, the Plume of Death, the Sands of Eon, the Goblet of Eonothem, and the Circlet of Logos
The Flower of Life and the Plume of Death come with only one main stat, the others are fair game
You can get sets of artifacts (belong to the same kind with around the same effects i.e. Berserker’s set)
So based on this and what a Main DPS Beidou is ideally, the main stats should be a Circlet focused on CRIT Rate/CRIT Damage, a Sands focused on more Attack percentages, and a Goblet focused on Electro Damage. Any sub stats should primarily focus on Energy Restoration before going into higher CRIT Rate, Attack Damage, and Attack Percentages.
There are two ideal sets of artifacts for Beidou per according to the Beidou guide, the said sets being:
Thundering Fury (2) / Noblesse Oblige (2) / Gladiator’s Triumph (2)
Emblem of Severed Fate (4)
Both of these sets have a heavy emphasis on increasing attack damage in general for Beidou, who has sub-par Physical Attack Damage at best. However the first one has a slight advantage as there would be more sub stats and effects to gain buffs from rather than the full set of four of the same.
Why am I still here? Just to suffer? Or squeeze the dopamine from my neurons? Or to prove a point? Yes. Just, yes.
Anyways, this is not going to be calculated until we have the ideal weapon for our ascending Electro Archon, and there’s only one truly iconic and effective greatsword that will fit such a completely goated full-counter enthusiast:
Diluc, hand it the fuck over.
Weapons:
As heavily implied by the previous sentence, the refined Wolf’s Gravestone (unbuffed and unbothered) is the number one choice for Beidou. I don’t know how she’ll get it, but she’ll find a way. However, if you don’t happen to have one in your inventory somewhere, you can always completely refine a Serpent’s Spine (with five stacks of passives to boot).
Wolf’s Gravestone -
Attack: 608 Second Stat Type: Attack Second Stat: 49.6% Wolfish Tracker: Increases Attack by 40%
Serpent Spine -
Attack: 510 Second Stat Type: Critical Hit Rate Second Stat: 27.6% Wavesplitter: Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 10% more DMG and take 2% more Damage; the maximum stack being five
The numbers I’m about to show you are the causation of being unbuffed externally and using the 2/2/2 set earlier, as there will be no Bennetts buffing Beidou to even more ridiculous damages.
These numbers are calculated based on the damage economy, the artifacts, and the weapons themselves and if you say they aren’t believable, I only have one thing to say to you:
Eula did over seven million damage in-game once.
Tumblr media
So the math doesn’t lie when it states that the Spine pales slightly in comparison to the Gravestone, the damage of an refined Gravestone compared to a five-stacked, and refined Spine having a 29,720.14 point difference.
In case you’re wondering, the totals were 621,563.87 and 591,843.73 respectively.
However, the 2/2/2 set is ideal for a low-energy cost Beidou build, so if I put them both with the 4-EoSF set (made for higher energy cost), I would get different numbers from the unbuffed refined Gravestone and refined five-stacked Spine.
They do come in at a massive gap of 93,238.42 points with the totals of 572,547.43 and 479,309.01 respectively.
Regardless, anything hit with that devastating critical in whatever build is dead. Period. Unless they have a shield. Not that Stormbreaker would let it do that much to the unshielded ones around them.
Now for the moment we’ve all been waiting for: who’s getting clowned by Beidou?
Well, you’re going to have to wait a little while longer.
TL;DR:
Beidou is a high defense stat away from becoming the Noelle of the Electro element and her full counter is living proof.
Concluding Thoughts + An Announcement:
You can find the in the next post that I will release because if I put it all here, I would have over 5000 words on this post and that’s too much logistics and numbers to have at once.
Splitting it into a showcase/fight is easier on me as I am not under as much of the self-induced pressure that I put on myself to be as accurate as possible. Taking it slow will be good for everyone involved as I have lowkey started to ignore life around me ehe other things I need to do and would like to do.
I also want to sleep, but that’s already been axed by the chopping block.
So, you will all be getting the Beidou showdown that you most certainly deserve at a later date.
Until then, toss some investment to your Beidou, as this was supposed to be a Beidou agenda post to begin with lmao.

Advantages & Disadvantages -
Where do I begin? Where do I even start?
She requires no flourish with any Elemental Reactions, no fancy conditions have to be met, she is simply elegant devastation. Watch this video here and you’ll see why I make the claim I do. Yes your eyes do not deceive you, you most certainly saw that sheer Physical Damage.
As the developers intended.
Her most obvious advantage is how much damage she can do with her Elemental Burst, the Lightfall Sword having the potential to completely decimate her opponent upon detonation. The Lightfall Sword is also not stationary, meaning that this bomb will drop on the opponent even if they try to run. Her Elemental Skill is also an advantage as whenever it’s used, Eula is guaranteed a buff in Defense and her opponents lose some of their Physical and Cryo Resistance, essentially ensuring that Eula can keep hacking at whatever she’s trying to beat.
Her build for this in general is just absolutely broken in this way as you really can’t go wrong anywhere with it. From the artifacts to the weapon, to the base itself, it is made solely for high-level offense and the maximum Physical Damage possible. And in case you’re wondering, thank the calculator for giving me an unholy 1,554,987 points damage for a critical hit.
The fact that I had to explicitly look up her disadvantages because the only thing I could come up with was a subpar ability to deal large amounts of Elemental Damage speaks volumes. I mean yes, mechanical enemies in the game are resistant to Physical Damage, but - for lack of a better way of putting it - who the fuck cares about that when you can one-shot the new Raiden Shogun boss?
Tumblr media
I don’t feel like I need to say anything more, but I will concede when I say that Eula was nerfed quite terribly when it comes to the respective cooldown and energy costs of her respective abilities, because if it was speedy and efficient, Eula would be virtually unstoppable.
Conclusion -
Eula is objectively the most powerful playable character in the game, hands down. I understand that a myriad of other characters that I have also presented here exist, but in terms of numbers and base build, no one can come close to what she has managed to do. Dare I say, I’ve become a Eula appreciator.

BEIDOU.EXE: Xiao Main DPS Build
This post is made for the purposes of organization and simplicity concerning the ‘BEIDOU.EXE’ post. For those who stumbled upon this post, this is not at all F2P Friendly.
For those of you who came from the BEIDOU.EXE post, the following stats are below:
Basic Statistics -
Health Points: 12,736 Attack: 349 Defense: 799 Critical Hit Rate: 5% Special Stat: CRIT Rate of 19.2% (for a total of 24.2%) Fighting Style: Polearm, plunging/lunging
Attacks -
Whirlwind Thrust (Normal Attack): Six consecutive spear strikes, Charged Attacks is a single upward thrust that take up stamina, Plunging attacks deal AoE Damage and he takes no damage Lemniscatic Wind Cycling (Elemental Skill): Lunges forward, dealing Anemo Damage to those in it’s path, can be used twice in rapid succession, can be used in mid-air  Bane of All Evil (Elemental Burst): The jumping ability is increased (to allow for more Plunging Attacks) as well as the Attack Damage, Attack AoE, and converting that into Anemo Damage; however, this causes a continuous loss of Health Points
Passive Abilities -
Conqueror of Evil - Tamer of Demons: When using the Elemental Burst, all Damage dealt increases by 5% every three seconds it’s still in effect, stacking for a maximum of 25% Dissolution Eon - Heaven Fall: Using the Elemental Skill in rapid consecution  increases Damage by 15%, persisting for seven seconds and stacking refreshes the time, the maximum amount of stacks being three
Constellations -
Dissolution Eon - Destroyer of Worlds: Increases the number of charges for the Elemental Skill by one Annihilation Eon - Blossom of Kaleidos: When off-field, Energy Recharge is increased by 25% Conqueror of Evil - Wrath Deity: Maxes out Elemental Skill Transcension - Extinction of Suffering: When at half health, gives a 100% Defense Bonus Evolution Eon - Origin of Ignorance: Maxes out Elemental Burst Conqueror of Evil - Guardian Yaksha: When using Elemental Burst, hitting two opponents with it gives a charge of the Elemental Skill, also granting the cooldown of said Elemental Skill to be ignored for one second
Weapon -
Primordial Jade Winged Spear: Increases Attack Damage by 6% for six seconds with a maximum of seven stacks and 24%. The substat is a CRIT Rate of 22.1% Staff of Homa: Health Points are increased by 40% and provides a 1.6% Attack Damage Bonus based on the maximum amount of Health Points; when the user’s health goes below half, an additional 1.8% is added on. The substat is a CRIT Damage Bonus of 66.2%.
Note: I added the Spear of Homa for the sake of those who care. These weapons in comparison of maxing them out completely is minute at best, as the difference here is within the thousands. Which isn’t a lot when we’re talking about over 575,000 points of damage. So for the sake of this analysis, we will be sticking with the canonical weapon of the Jade Spear, as the use of the Staff of Homa would give Xiao an unfair advantage with it’s Health Points stat.
Artifacts -
Gladiator’s Triumph (2): Circlet and Sands take priority with the main stats being CRIT Rate/CRIT Damage and Attack Damage % respectively and the two-set bonus of 18% more Attack Damage Viridescent Venerer (2): Circlet and Goblet take priority, with the main stats being CRIT Rate/CRIT Damage and Anemo Damage Bonus respectively and the two-set bonus of 15% more Anemo Damage Shimenawa’s Reminiscence (2): Flower and Plume take priority, with the main stats being Max HP and Attack Damage % respectively and the two-set bonus of 18% more Attack Damage
Note: This is the ideal set for Xiao’s toolkit, but the Anemo Damage Bonus is not as much of an advantage as one would think overall. Just putting that out there.
Advantages & Disadvantages -
I have no words except a bias towards the ‘you take damage whenever you use your Burst lmao’ mentality, and I’m sure this has been covered extensively already. However, this isn’t deciding the entirety of his existence as a playable character because holy fuck, his toolkit is worth it. Y’all had the right idea when you jumped on this boat as he might be getting a super buffed artifact soon-
One of his key advantages lie in his Elemental Skill specifically, as it can be used anywhere and has no seen interruptions as well as the fact that in certain modes, the charges are virtually unlimited. Another advantage lies in his Plunging Attacks and how they can be enhanced with the use of Xiao’s Elemental Burst. His jump height increases and makes plunging as an attack nearly consecutive, not to mention the extra AoE Anemo Damage every time it hits.
This attack strategy for his toolkit is the most brutal double-edged sword in the game.
The clear disadvantage in the entirety of that Plunging Attack strategy (and really the majority of his Elemental Burst Damage) lies in continuously losing health with the use of his Elemental Burst. If Xiao does not kill the enemy instantly, he will be significantly weakened at the end of it’s duration; the health he lost isn’t coming back. Even the Defense boost he gets once he gets to half his health can only do so much for so long before he simply keels over and dies from the strain.
Xiao is, without a doubt, the living and breathing definition of victory at any cost.
Conclusion -
I appreciate that the builds increasingly reflect the respective character’s personalities, fighting styles, and lore so well, but I have an unholy amount of beef with the base build to the point that it should be considered as toxic as Xiao’s karmic debt. Such is the harsh reality for the average Xiao main.

BEIDOU.EXE: Arataki Itto Main DPS Build
This post is made for the purposes of organization and simplicity concerning the ‘BEIDOU.EXE’ post. For those who stumbled upon this post, you can find the detailed version of Itto’s Main DPS build here (not at all F2P friendly).
For those of you who came from the BEIDOU.EXE post, the following stats are below:
Basic Statistics -
Health Points: 12,858 Attack: 227 Defense: 959 Critical Hit Rate: 5% Special Stat: CRIT Rate of 19.2% (for a total of 24.2%) Fighting Style: Claymore, melee
Attacks -
Fight Club Legend (Normal Attack): Four consecutive strikes, Charged Attacks take stacks until depleted, in which there’s only one giant slash at it’s conclusion (Arataki Kesagiri) Superlative Stacks of Strength: Every second and fourth strike gives one or two stacks of strength (Normal and Charged Attack), the maximum amount of stacks are five Masatsu Zetsugi - Akaushi Burst! (Elemental Skill): Ushi (Geo Construct) is yeeted at the opponent, dealing Geo Damage while also adding a stack; when Ushi hits zero hit points, it will also add a stack Royal Descent - Behold, Itto the Evil! (Elemental Burst): Converts all damage from Normal Attacks into Geo Damage while increasing Attack Speed and the Attack Damage based on Defense, with every first and third hit giving one stack; however, Elemental Resistance and Physical Resistance goes down by 20%
Passive Abilities -
Arataki Ichiban: With the use of every consecutive slash (Arataki Kesagiri), it increases the Attack Speed of the next slash by 10% (the maximum being 30%) while also increasing resistance to interruption Bloodline of the Crimson Oni: Arataki Kesagiri Damage increases by 35% of Defense
Constellations -
Stay a While and Listen Up: After using the Elemental Burst, gains two stacks, afterwards gaining one stack every half a second for one and a half seconds Gather 'Round, It's a Brawl!: After using the Elemental Burst, for every Geo party member, decreases their cooldown by one and a half seconds and restores six energy for the next burst (N/A for this scenario) Horns Lowered, Coming Through: Maxes out Elemental Skill Jailhouse Bread and Butter: After using the Elemental Burst, all party members gain 20% Defense and 20% Attack Damage for ten seconds 10 Years of Hanamizaka Fame: Maxes out Elemental Burst Arataki Itto, Present!: Charged Attacks deal 70% more CRIT Damage, and every Arataki Kesagiri slash has a 50% chance of not consuming a stack
Weapon -
Redhorn Stonethresher: The Defense is increased by 56% and Normal and Charged Attack Damage is increased by 80% of the Defense; the substat  increases the CRIT Damage by 88.2%
Artifacts -
Husk of Opulent Dreams (4): The Sands, Goblet, and Circlet should have the main stats of Defense %, Geo Damage %, and CRIT Rate/CRIT Damage respectively. Your typical Flower and Plume have their main stats as well, the main stats for all artifacts being the priority. The two-set bonus is a 30% Defense boost and the four-set bonus gains the Curiosity effect, gaining a stack of said effect after hitting with a Geo Attack (maximum of one each 1/3 of a second), the maximum stack being four and a maximum of a 24% Defense Boost and a 24% Geo Damage Bonus.
Note: All of the information and build is quite recent, and is subject to change with patches, new releases and things of that nature. Also, if I can digress, this build is also excellent for Noelle mains. I’m not biased at all.
Advantages & Disadvantages -
Do you have any idea how scary this dude would be if he had a fraction of the will to kill? Because I would be terrified and rightly so. His base build is meant to be an unstoppable tank of devastation and the amplification of those established attributes certainly means that he is indeed a force to be reckoned with.
His advantages lie in the way his Defense ties in with the rest of his stats, boosting Attack Damage, Attack Speed, and overall performance as a DPS. Another advantage is in his special stat of Superlative Stacks of Strength. It ensures that Itto consumes no stamina whatsoever in battle, as well as how easy it is to farm them for continual use.
However, there are a couple of things holding him back, one of those being that his toolkit is more dependent on Geo Resonance and party dynamics than other DPS characters in this lineup. Though he does an impressive amount of damage by himself, he will never reach the crazy numbers below (C6 Itto + Gorou/Zhongli Resonance & Effects + Bennett Buff):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(link to the video here)
Overall, this isn’t as much of a boon as much as a bemoaning of less points of damage per hit, but one stark fact throughout all of what I’ve laid out highlights one major disadvantage: He has to hit something first.
If he can’t hit a damn thing, nothing in his toolkit matters as any effect he can get is rendered useless. It literally will not matter what he has because if his opponent is dexterous enough, he will absolutely, positively lose. Badly.
Another disadvantage Itto has is the vulnerability of the state that his Elemental Burst puts him in. If someone manages to hit him during that barrage, he would take more damage than usual, as while his Defense is the same, his Physical and Elemental Resistance is decreased by 20%. There’s also the fact that said Elemental Burst converts everything into Geo Damage, but his Physical Damage can compensate for this most of the time.
Conclusion -
If Itto had the strategic mindset to change his fighting style of ‘hit it until it’s dead’ when it comes to faster opponents, he would genuinely be able to win against anyone that came in his way, but he had to be nerfed somewhere.

BEIDOU.EXE: Diluc Ragnvindr Main DPS Build
This post is made for the purposes of organization and simplicity concerning the ‘BEIDOU.EXE’ post. For those who stumbled upon this post, this is not at all F2P Friendly.
For those of you who came from the BEIDOU.EXE post, the following stats are below:
Basic Statistics -
Health Points: 12,981 Attack: 335 Defense: 784 Critical Hit Rate: 5% Special Stat: CRIT Rate of 19.2% (for a total of 24.2%) Fighting Style: Claymore, melee/ranged attack
Attacks -
Tempered Sword (Normal Attack): Four consecutive attacks, Charged Attack takes stamina Searing Onslaught (Elemental Skill): A forward slash that deals Pyro Damage, can be used in consecution up to three time before entering cooldown Dawn (Elemental Burst): Releases flames that knocks nearby opponents back with Pyro Damage, then the flames converge into the claymore summoning a fiery Phoenix that flies forward and knocks small opponents further back, dealing heavy Pyro Damage and AoE Pyro Damage, then infusing the claymore in Pyro
Passive Abilities -
Relentless: Charged Attack stamina cost is cut in half and it’s duration is increased by three seconds Blessing of the Phoenix: The Pyro Infusion provided by the Elemental Burst lasts for four seconds longer while also gaining 20% Pyro Damage Bonus for as long as that lasts
Constellations -
Conviction: Deals 15% more damage to opponents with more than half of their health points Searing Ember: When hit, Attack Speed increase by 5% and Attack Damage by 10%, lasting ten seconds and the said effect stacking up to three times (one stack every one and a half seconds) Fire and Steel: Maxes out Elemental Skill Flowing Flame: Using Elemental Skill in rhythm (every two seconds) deals 40% more Damage, lasting for two seconds Phoenix, Harbinger of Dawn: Maxes out Elemental Burst Flaming Sword, Nemesis of the Dark: After casting the Elemental Skill, the next two Normal Attacks (within the next six seconds) will have the Damage and Attack Speed increased by 30% as well as the Elemental Skill no longer interrupting the Normal Attack combo
Weapon -
Wolf’s Gravestone: Increases Attack Damage by 40%, if it hits, attacks against opponents with less than 30% HP increases Attack Damage by 80% for 12 seconds, this can only occur once every 30 seconds. The substat adds an additional 49.6% to Attack Damage
Artifacts -
Crimson Witch of Flames (4): The Sands, Goblet, and Circlet should have the main stats of Attack Damage %/Energy Restoration, Pyro Damage Bonus, and CRIT Rate/CRIT Damage respectively. Your typical Flower and Plume have their main stats as well, the main stats for all artifacts being the priority. The two-set bonus has a 15% Pyro Damage Bonus and the four-set bonus gives increased Overloaded and Burning Damage by 40% while also increasing Vaporize and Melt Damage by 15%; using an Elemental Skill increases the two-set bonus by 50% for ten seconds for a maximum of three stacks
Note: One can also use a combination of Crimson Witch of Flames (2)/Shinenawa’s Reminiscence (2) or Crimson Witch of Flames (2)/ Wanderer’s Trope (2), but I find that for the purposes of this, the ideal set above is best.
Advantages & Disadvantages -
Out of all of the Main DPS in this list, it can be said without a shadow of a doubt that Diluc is the easiest and simplest one to use in the game. His hits, even in of themselves, are quite powerful, averaging about a little over 24,000 points of Damage per Second for every Normal Attack, his CRIT Damage for said Normal Attacks effectively going well over 50,000 damage.
I slept pretty damn hard for someone who hardly sleeps at all-
His advantages lie within how seamlessly his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst can weave into his Normal Attacks and - in the right player’s hands - never breaking the rhythm of his hits. He also offers a variety of utility, from all of the steps of his Elemental Burst to the continuous use of his Elemental Skill and to the fact that he hits that much harder when an opponent has more than half of their health left or if they hit him.
But as with all good Main DPS characters, he had to be nerfed, as it wouldn’t be fair otherwise. Do you want to know what Diluc’s base build shows me? Truly? Because I can tell you in no uncertain terms that he is a massive fucking idiot for what he’s allowed himself to clown for.
He, despite having complete control over his respective Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, are not immune to their AoE. In other words, he can run the risk of literally setting himself on fire every time he uses them.
And he takes Pyro Damage from this.
Any Diluc main can tell you this and if they deny it they are lying through their damn teeth. Having a Pyro AoE Damage effect can be good in some combative cases in this lineup, but can also serve to be his undoing. There’s also the fact that some of the larger amounts of damage he can do is converted into Pyro Damage via his Elemental Burst but does that matter when said Burst can hurt him?
Conclusion -
This build is the damn reason why he’s one of the simplest Main DPS characters to use. Now imagine him combining his Delusion and understand why the hell he’s canonically not allowed to snap, not that he also wouldn’t burn himself with it. This reality infuriates me to the same degree as Physical DPS Childe.

BEIDOU.EXE: Beidou Main DPS Build
This post is made for the purposes of organization and simplicity concerning the ‘BEIDOU.EXE’ post. For those who stumbled upon this post, you can find the detailed version of Beidou’s Main DPS build here (not at all F2P friendly).
For those of you who came from the BEIDOU.EXE post, the following stats are below:
Basic Statistics -
Health Points: 13,050 Attack: 225 Defense: 648 Critical Hit Rate: 5% Special Stat: Electro Damage Bonus of 24% Fighting Style: Claymore, melee
Attacks -
Oceanborne (Normal Attack): Five consecutive attacks, Charged Attack takes stamina Tidecaller (Elemental Skill): The acclaimed shield that gives her the perfect counter, absorbs a certain amount of damage before releasing it with more damage back with one large slash of Electro Damage Stormbreaker (Elemental Burst): When she hits with this, it deals Electro Damage along with arcs of lightning that can hit up to three enemies; also increases resistance to interruptions and decreases damage taken
Passive Abilities -
Retribution: If anything hits, it’s an immediate full counter Lightning Storm: When Tidecaller is used, increases Normal Attack Damage by 15%, while increasing the speed and reducing the delay of said attacks
Constellations -
Sea Beast’s Scourge: Creates a shield that absorbs up to 16% of Max HP for 15 seconds, absorbs Electro Damage 250% more Upon the Turbulent Sea, the Thunder Arises: Stormbreaker can hit up to two more targets Summoner of Storm: Maxes out Elemental Skill Stunning Revenge: If you hit her, she does 20% more Electro Damage with Normal Attacks for 10 seconds Crimson Tidewalker: Maxes out Elemental Burst Bane of Evil: When Stormbreaker is activated, reduces the enemy's resistance to Electro Damage by 15% for it’s duration
Weapon -
Wolf’s Gravestone: Increases Attack Damage by 40%, if it hits, attacks against opponents with less than 30% HP increases Attack Damage by 80% for 12 seconds, this can only occur once every 30 seconds. The substat adds an additional 49.6% to Attack Damage
Artifacts -
Thundering Fury (2): Circlet and Goblet take priority, with the main stats being CRIT Rate/CRIT Damage and Electro Damage % respectively and the two-set bonus of 15% more Electro Damage Noblesse Oblige (2): Flower and Plume take priority, with the main stats being Max HP and Attack Damage % respectively and the two-set bonus of 20% more Elemental Burst Damage Gladiator’s Triumph (2): Circlet and Sands take priority with the main stats being CRIT Rate/CRIT Damage and Attack Damage % respectively and the two-set bonus of 18% more Attack Damage
Note: These are so damn interchangeable with each other in general that it legitimately doesn’t matter which combination you use because you will be getting the maximum out of all of them anyways.
Advantages & Disadvantages -
For starters, I understand that she’s a four-star character, but due to the extensive research I’ve pulled up here over weeks, I can conclude that she can not only hold her own, but could actually beat some five stars in terms of their health with her Elemental Skill. For example:
Tumblr media
(image from Rawfler ‘BEIDOU.EXE’ video)
Name one character that has more base health points than that. I’ll wait. The point is, if they hit her and she’s fast enough to put that Tidecaller skill on hold, they are done.
Now, of course, her shield was hit with a Pyro projectile and the build used was less than what it is in the stats given (referring to Rawfler not being a massive whale), but it is worth noting that certain external AoE effects (i.e. fire) can also be used to reach the perfect counter so that she doesn’t have to take that damage.
However, she had to be nerfed somewhere, folks. All of this is dependent on if the shield for Tidecaller holds up as the shield’s susceptible vulnerability when it comes to actual opponents is still enough of a deciding factor to deal with.
Her shield damage absorption consists of 30.6% Max HP + 3812 at the highest level possible (flat rate). Quick math is 30.6% of 13,050 + 3812, which is roughly 7805 points. Some enemies (and opponents) can do crazy damage, so if the shield breaks, she will take some of that damage.
Also, her Normal Attacks are a bit slower and deal less damage than the average claymore user. They also employ the heavy use of stamina, another disadvantage when fighting opponents. Things that can compensate for this disadvantage are the bonus of the Electro Damage and the Bane of Evil Constellation that is in use whenever she uses an Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst.
One factor to take into consideration, however, is how Beidou maximizes her effectiveness. Anyone who primarily uses Beidou can say with some assurance that they recognize attack patterns of various enemies so that they can hit them with everything they have. As this is the ideal use of Beidou, it is safe to assume that she possess some semblance of this prowess in this circumstance.
Conclusion -
She is definitely a force to be reckoned with against your typical enemies and could potentially be the same against various characters in the game, but that statement remains to be seen, now doesn’t it?

BEIDOU.EXE: Tartaglia Main DPS Build
This post is made for the purposes of organization and simplicity concerning the ‘BEIDOU.EXE’ post. For those who stumbled upon this post, you can find the detailed version of Tartaglia’s Main DPS build here (not F2P friendly).
For the sake of this analysis, he will not ascend to the full Foul Legacy state with his Delusion, as I am primarily depending on playable character numbers to measure the damage.
For those of you who came from the BEIDOU.EXE post, the following stats are below:
Basic Statistics -
Health Points: 13,103 Attack: 301 Defense: 815 Critical Hit Rate: 5% Special Stat: Hydro Damage Bonus of 28.8% Fighting Style: Bow, range/melee stance
Attacks -
Cutting Torrent (Normal Attack): Six consecutive shots, Charged Attack inflicts the Riptide effect Riptide: This effect applies AoE Hydro Damage to whatever is hit; the respective Flash dealing continuous Hydro Damage every 0.7 seconds and the Burst inflicting the Riptide everything in range when an enemy with said status is defeated Foul Legacy - Raging Tide (Elemental Skill): Deals Hydro Damage and settles into Melee Stance, able to perform Normal Attacks and Charged Attacks in said stance; the respective Riptide Slash dealing further AoE Hydro Damage if the enemy is affected by Riptide Havoc - Obliteration (Elemental Burst): In the Ranged Stance, fires a Hydro-infused arrow dealing AoE Hydro Damage and deals Riptide on everything in the vicinity; in the Melee Stance, gives one giant slash of AoE Hydro Damage triggering Riptide Blast, which clears the Riptide effect (if applied) and instead hits the opponent with an explosion of AoE Hydro Damage
Passive Abilities -
Never Ending: Extends Riptide duration by eight seconds Storm of Torrents: When in the Melee Stance for the Elemental Skill, whenever Normal and Charged Attacks crit, the Riptide effect is applied
Constellations -
Foul Legacy - Tide Withholder: Decreases the cooldown of Elemental Skill by 20% Foul Legacy - Understream: When opponents affected by Riptide are defeated, four Elemental Energy is recoverd Abyssal Mayhem - Vortex of Turmoil: Maxes out Elemental Skill Abyssal Mayhem - Hydrospout: If in Melee Stance (Foul Legacy: Raging Tide), triggers Slash (if Riptide is in effect) and Flash (otherwise) every four seconds Havoc - Formless Blade: Maxes out Elemental Burst Havoc - Annihalation: When Elemental Burst is cast in Melee Stance, resets cooldown for Elemental Skill (only after he returns to Ranged Stance)
Weapon -
Polar Star: Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst Damage increased by 24%, if it hits, one stack of Ashen Nightstar is added for twelve seconds, the stack max being four; the corresponding bonus is a max Attack Damage of 96% along with the substat of a 33.2% CRIT Rate
Artifacts -
Heart of Depth (4): The Sands, Goblet, and Circlet should have the main stats of Attack Damage %, Hydro Damage %, and CRIT Rate/CRIT Damage respectively. Your typical Flower and Plume have their main stats as well, the main stats for all artifacts being the priority. The two-set bonus has a 15% Hydro Damage Bonus and the four-set bonus gives 30% more Normal/Charged Attack Damage for fifteen seconds after an Elemental Skill is used.
Note: Another good combination is the Heart of Depth (2)/Shimenawa’s Reminiscence (2) combo, but I find that the four-set bonus for Heart of Depth is better for this circumstance.
Advantages & Disadvantages -
Childe has shown in his playable toolkit that he can adapt to fighting styles at the drop of a hat and then maximize the advantages he has while also exploiting his opponent’s weaknesses, and as such would be a step up from most characters relative to canon.
This is his wild card, as he can go from bow user to pseudo polearm to blade methods in mere seconds. In terms of damage, he absolutely devastates the battlefield, especially with his Elemental Burst, the highest numbers being 158,781 points of damage when he crits.
This would be excellent, if this was Physical Damage as opposed to Hydro Damage, in which lies his biggest weakness. He could never do the same amount of damage with his Normal or Charged Attacks; none of the buffs and extras that he has will come into effect until and unless he uses his Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, which converts everything into Hydro Damage.
Going further into this, his Normal and Charged Attacks along with the Physical Damage he doles out on them isn’t as high in comparison to the rest of the lineup, meaning that if the enemy he’s going against is resistant to Hydro Damage and a bit of a tank?
While he might not loose, it’s going to suck a lot.
Conclusion -
I genuinely enjoy and despise the fact that this dude is held back by numbers because it makes cases like this that much more fun and I have to do that much more work to back up him being a well-rounded combative unit in general. And there’s no mistake that he isn’t.
