(they’re both only quarter Asian though, since qrow and raven were half asian and both summer and tai are american, why his name is taiyang while not even being asian, we don’t know.) 

blake bellodana-Japanese

(i wanted to put blake somewhere in western asia, since the bellodana plant is in those areas, but she doesn’t fit in any of those countries) 

weiss schnee- german/russian (who was born in america)

(weiss is technically an american, but her family is a mix of german/russian, since the schnee family has always sent their children to a particular set of boarding schools in russia, weiss thought, with help from her older sister winter, got moved to a prestigious school in new york she’s had her eye on since she heard she’d be going to schools like that)

jaune arc-american

(i feel like jaune would have heavy Irish links though, his great grand-parents  were irish immigrants or something, his mother is french though) 

nora valkyrie-scottish

pyrrha-Greek

(obviously pyrrha would be greek, she has wonderful genes and such, but she only lived in greece during the summers, since her family actually lives in London, she’s accepted into beacon based on her flawless grades, and a soccer scholarship, she’s also trained in kickboxing, because why not?)

lie ren-Japanese/Chinese 

(this one is obvious too, but i figured since ren is also a Confucian virtue, he’d be half chinese as well) 

that’s it four the rwby/jnpr, all 8 of them go to beacon academy based on things like scholarships, (pyrrha in soccer, yang and nora in wrestling) recommendations, (weiss, ruby,  jaune, yes jaune doesn’t cheat his way into this one, plus i always figured jaune would make up for his below average combat skills with pretty good academic grades, and arcs always end up in beacon academy anyways when they come of age for it) or written exams (blake and ren) the details of this beacon will come to me, and maybe i’ll think of stuff for more characters
