Quite similar to my Newer Take on the Neptune Siblings, here is some little redesign around the Poseidon Kids (I've decided to change the Second Son into a Third Daughter and name her "Kympoleia" but also gave her a New Eye Color so that way she wouldn't look too much like the First One). I was originally going to make my own version where its just Two Sons and Two Daughters but my mind recently decide to went with the Unpopular version where its just One Son and Three Daughters because you don't usually see much of The Sea Rulers with their own Four Children based on some versions that often representive in Media. Proteus is usually the Cool Prince around in the Kingdom. He usually enjoys quite a Fun Day but much like his own Father, he is rather Vain and Cocky who usually prefers to think of himself who usually takes after his own Father's business but would also like to cause a little bit of mischief. But he also a good soft spot deep down with him coming around from his Mother's Side as he is rather more Sassy than Arrgoant and usually takes his own Prideful manners for himself (usually he does think of himself as a "Poseidon Jr."). He also has a deep soft spot for all Sea Animals as Friends (unlike his Father, who only saw them as material use). Benthesikyme “Blenda” is very Smart and Well-Mannered. She often doesn't brag too much when she's learning herself on how to be a Very Good and Respectful Princess, although despite the fact that her siblings get more from their Father's Side, she often gets her own side a lot from her Mother's. She is a Steadfast with Pratical Royal intelligence as she is rather more Level-Headed compared to her other siblings but does tend to see Sea Creatures and Merfolk equally. Hoping that she does become the Second Queen of the Sea as long as she doesn't repeat her own Father's mistakes. Rhode “Elly” is actually very Bubbly and Sweet, both a Mommy and Daddy's Girl. She can a little exictable but she's very out-going, especially with her own Friends. She also tends to be very curious about the Surface as she wants to learn the life of the Mortal Realms (both Land and the Fish Towns respectfully) despite that some Humans out there can be very dangerous like Sea Hunters but carefully as herself that she is, Rhode can see the good in some people if they have some potentail to redeem themselves since not all Bad Creatures can be that Bad. Kymopoleia “Leia” is the One who stands out of the Royal Atlantic Heirs, she is rather Very Determined and Tomboyish. She can be quite sassy and sarcastic like her Father's side if she wants to be, she's not at all into being a "Girly-Girl" but she'd rather be a Headstrong Warrior Queen (even though that role would go to Blenda). She does like a fun game of challenges against others as she wishes to be strong and tough like her Cousin (Ares). Laestrygon - Son of Poseidon and Gaea, father of  Telepora (wife of Aeolus) possible parent/creator of the Laitsrygonians. 

Despoina - Daughter of Poseidon and Demeter - Goddess of Arcadian Mysteries/Veiled - born when poseidon went after demeter when both were horses.

Arion - Supernatural Horse (not sure if he’s a deity or just immortal creature) - Son of Demeter and Poseidon  born when poseidon went after demeter when both were horses.

Pegasus - immortal winged-horse, Son of Poseidon and Medusa (or just sprang from Medusa’s blood when Perseus beheaded her)

Chrysaor - Son of Poseidon and Medusa - "he who has a golden sword" - might be the father of Echidna

Herophile -Sea-nymph,  Daughter of Poseidon and Aphrodite, possibly a Delphic Sybil

Ergiscus - son of Poseidon and Aba (a naiad), the city of Ergisce in Istanbul was named after him. 

Aethusa - Daughter of Poseidon and Alcyone (a pleiad) - caught Apollo’s eye and had two kids with him Eleuther and Linus- ancestor of Orpheus.

Hyrieus - Son of Poseidon and Alcyone (a pleiad) - possible father of Orion, most account call him a king of various places. (Boeotia, Thrace or Chios)

Hyperenor - son of Poseidon and Alcyone

Hyperes - son of Poseidon and the Pleiad Alcyone He was the father of Arethusa, mother of Abas by Poseidon. Founded the city of Hyperea.

Anthas - Son of Poseidon and Alcyone, founder of Anthea

Abas - son of Poseidon and Arethusa (yes his own granddaughter).  Abas founded a tribe known as the Abantians or Abantes. He reigned over them as king. Possibly killed by his own grandson. 

Halirrhothius - Son of Poseidon and Euryte or Bathycleia. He was killed by Ares for raping his daughter Alcippe. 

Chrysomallos - Son of  Bisalpis or Bisaltis or Theophane - Golden winged ram, rescued some people, was them sacrificed to Zeus and skinned. 

Minyas - Son of Poseidon and somebody (there was a very long list of potential moms) a city founder. 

Lycus - son of Poseidon and Celaeno, one of the Pleiades. Together with his brother Eurypylus, they ruled over the Isles of the Fortunate which their father blessed.

Nycteus - (possibly a son of Poseidon and Somebody) - King of Thebes

Eurypylus - Son of Poseidon and Celaeno, either ruled over the isles of the blessed with lycus or was a king of cyrene

Asopus - possibly a son of Poseidon, a river deity

Parnassus - unkown

Eumolpus - possibly a son of Poseidon and Chione - King of Thrace

Phaeax - Son of Poseidon and Korkrya - from whom the Phaeacians derived their name.

Eirene - daughter of Poseidon and  Melantheia - gave her name to an island.

Amykos - Son of Poseidon and Melia - a king who would force people to box with them so he could kill them. Challenged the best of the Argonauts Polydueces, who killed him with a blow on the elbow. 

Mygdon - Son of Poseidon and Melia, also a king, killed by Heracles on his way to his ninth labour. 

Aspledon, a son of Poseidon and the nymph Mideia, a city in Boetia was named after him. 

Astacus - son of Poseidon and the nymph Olbia, eponymous founder of Astacus, Bithynia.

Leches  - son of Peirene and Poseidon, who was abducted by Poseidon. (squinty eyes at you mr. no-consent)

Evadne - daughter of Poseidon and Pitane who was raised by Aepytus of Arcadia. She fell in love with Apollo and of course got pregnant, the pregnancy was discovered by Aepytus, he was furious and left to consult the Oracle of Apollo. During the childbirth, Apollo sent Eileithyia and the Moirae to assist his lover and ease her pain. Evadne gave birth in the wilderness and left the child, Iamus, exposed to the elements. Five days later, Aepytus returned from the Delphi, where he had been told by Apollo's Oracle that Evadne's child was indeed the son of Apollo and destined to be a gifted prophet. He demanded that the child be brought to him, and so Evadne retrieved Iamus from the patch of violets where she had left him. Iamus had been nurtured for those five days by the honeybees that were sent by Apollo, or by the Fates. Evadne named the child Iamus (“Boy of the Violets”) He went on to found the Iamidae, a family of priests from Olympia.

Do you plan to design Triton's Sisters from the Original Greek Mythology for how they would look if they appeared in Disney's "Hercules"?

I just found out that Poseidon and Amphitrite have Three Daughters named "Rhodos", "Benthesikyme", and "Kymopoleia".

They're not really brought up much like Hades and Persephone's Children but do you plan to design Triton's Sisters?

Well, I haven't really thought about designing Triton's sisters until now. And I may have to think about proper designs, but I'm sure I'll think of something

Guys honestly if anyone knows any riodianverse fanfiction that dives into/brings to light(for percy and tyson)/has some of percys other seafam relatives besides just his godly siblings as characters let me know! I love the idea of uncle!percy and uncle! Tyson so I'm especially interested in stories where the kids of percys and tysons siblings( siblings being rhodes,kymopoleia,Benthesikyme, Herophile, triton etc) are characters. Especially if it involves demigods ocs.

imagine if tyson found out that castor and pollux were his and percys 3x great nephews( imagine the hug!) . Honestly I can see percy inviting the twins over to his mom's occasionally. After castor dies I can definitely see sally and Paul opening their home more to pollux when he needs it while percy insisting on pollux visiting him and annabeth at new rome University occasionally especially during the summer just so he can get out of cabin 12 especially if no other campers are claimed by his dad.

Also Just imagine estelle having yet another big brother figure in pollux! He would be so gentle with her!

Hello there poseidon, I was wondering what you and your wife like to do for your children's birthdays?

With Triton he likes traveling, wether it’s the sea or the land. He’s the adventurous one. Right now he’s exploring Japan much to my dismay.

With Rhode she likes shopping, she has different fashion senses and likes to see all the different clothing. Even dresses or clothes from different centuries.

With Kymopoleia she loves to sail the seas with her own ship. She got the ship as a gift from my wife and I. Mostly because she enjoyed sailing with my wife all her childhood.

With Benthesikyme it’s hard to say since she’s still an infant, but giving her toys or affection usually does the trick.

Actually, Poseidon called the Princes/Princesses home for Percy’s event. But in order of age + line of succession-

Triton (heir to the throne) Crown Prince- Aipria

Benthesikyme (oldest girl, heiress should Triton have no children) Crown Princess- Avineha

Rhodos (only slightly younger than Benthesikyme, very close to her) Princess- Avineh

Kymopoleia (a fair bit younger than the three above, a gap before her birth and theirs) Princess- Avineh

Khrysaor (a fair bit younger than Kym) Prince- Aipri

Herophile (very close in age to Khrysaor) Princess- Avineh And of course, now Persi

You tried to be a good daughter.

You were the second eldest child of the great god Poseidon and his wife Amphirite. While Triton is the heir apparent, you fawned over him and your younger sister Benthesikyme when the rulers of all the oceans wasn’t around. You tried your best to be there for them, shouting with joy when they achieved something, big or small, comforting them when they needed a big hug or wanted to share a yummy meal in the empty dining hall because they were lonely.

But sometimes…it wasn’t enough. The love of an older sister, that is.

Triton wanted your father’s approval. Bethesikyme wanted your mother to look at her instead of waiting for your father to come to her chambers when she knew he hadn’t been there in years, centuries even. Neither of your parents were concerned about you…especially after your hair had changed from shimmering [Hair Color] locks to light pink with green ends as a result of eating too much sakura mochi.

No one wanted a wife with such a hideous blend of colors or had a large appetite, much less pass these traits down to their children, even from a daughter of Poseidon. At least that was what the last person had said to you during a marriage interview. Their remark…it hurt a lot. Proteus had to walk you out of the seashell garden after standing in a shocked state for almost four hours.

So you tried to change. Dyeing your hair black, cutting back on how much food you consumed, and working super hard in your lessons to become someone your father might be proud of…but it didn’t make you happy. Quite the opposite, actually.

Because no matter what you did, you would never become the perfect child in your father’s eyes. He told you as much with that cold stare of his. You were not perfect, nothing more than a speck of sand that was hardly worth noticing.

When that happened….well, as stupid as it sounds now….you left. You just left the palace without saying good-bye, leaving only a letter for your siblings, Proteus, the cooks, and all of your tutors, thanking them for looking after you and hoping that they’ll find happiness someday.

You found refuge in Valhalla, and for the first time in a long while, you could breathe. You could style your hair in any manner you desired, ate as much as you wanted, and even found a job working for the Demon Slayer Corps! It was a little weird at first, asking your uncle to help adjust into this place without saying a word to your father, but he was someone you could trust.

He knew that the reason you ate so much isn’t because you were a glutton, rather it was due to possessing an abnormal muscle condition that required a lot of calories and daily exercise to maintain. Six months later, you advanced from the Final Selection exam and were currently being mentored by the Flame Hashira Rengoku.

The humans who were part of Uncle Hades’ organization were so sweet and cool, how could you hate them? They accepted you for who you were and never made any harsh judgements towards you. Even their big boss, Lord Ubuyashiki, said that your talent was a gift! A gift, not a burden.

Goodness, it still brought a tear to your eyes when you remembered his words. But now isn't the time to be distracted! Today was your first solo mission, and you had to make Rengoku proud! Being a Demon Slayer means protecting people, and that’s what you’re gonna do!

Anyone who hurts others, even demons…they will receive no love from you. Not even a speck of mercy.

Unbeknownst to the Demon Slayer, however, it was getting difficult for Hades to keep lying to his little brother about the whereabouts of his niece. After [First Name] left the ocean, Poseidon had been searching for her, demanding answers with a scowl etched across his face. Hades did not have children himself, yet in a way he can understand that everyone needed space, or needed to leave a toxic environment in order to thrive…but why in Gaia’s name would [First Name] even think that her father hated her?

Poseidon adored his daughter.

He chased away suitors with ill intentions, increased the difficulty of her lessons so as to remove her limitations and thrive under pressure, even hired more palace chefs to cook her meals!

Whenever he was away to do some business that did not involve an illicit affair, he’d always bring a trinket back for her, but Amphirite snatched it up under the belief that the gift was her.

The sea goddess was still desperate for his attention, even when their love for each other had waned over the last couple of centuries.

Now that [First Name] was on the path of becoming a Hashira, the lord of the underworld had an obligation as both the divine overseer of the Demon Slayer Corps and as a brother, to tell Poseidon the truth. And yet…was it even the right thing to do, when all the reports he’s received from Ubuyashiki showed that leaving the ocean allowed his niece to be the happiest she’d been in a long, long time?

There was no doubt Poseidon would drag her back home to be punished, and that smile of hers would disappear as soon as she dove under the waves. The pressure to be perfect is a crushing one, even for the child of godly perfection.

Hades sighed softly, pressing his fingers against the side of his head as he felt a migraine creeping in. What should he do?

The second part… The AUs…

part 2/?? overall, but part 1/2 for my (kind of) drawn aus!! (might be edited later but my ipad is soo laggy)

This was a concept from my storybook au, where I literally destroyed the canon world and rewrote everything so it could be a more simplistic story. Benthomaar is a little prince from the oceans, who uses his trident with a fallen star to guide the sea animals of the sea so they won’t be lost in the depths, he is as blue as the ocean, and depicted to stand on the biggest whale shark of the waters. While Lloyd is a young spirit who dwells far away up in the mountains, depicted as a boy riding on a magnificent, grand green dragon, and the robes that Lloyd wears seems to fade into the dragon’s mane.

However, one day, Benthomaar lost his trident, and without light, the sea animals were sent into chaos. Their distraught caused massive waves that threatened the land — which caught Lloyd’s attention, of course, as the guardian of Life and Energy, he was bound to raise concern. Especially after his sister Nya, told him that not even she could ease the animals.

Lloyd helped Benthomaar find his trident back, but the light had drowned, it couldn’t be destroyed. What was the worth of something useless? Lloyd felt sympathy for Benthomaar, it wasn’t long before the sea will crash onto the dirt, but Benthomaar believed that it was the memory and experience that mattered. The trident may be gone, the light vanished, but it was the effort they went through to traverse the endless waters to find it — that was what mattered. With the power of life, and Benthomaar’s determination, a new light engulfed the world so bright, and a star was laid within the trident as before, bringing hope and guidance to the seas again. Theeee Endddd!!! (btw all characters are kids in this au!!)

This was supposed to be a more sapphic au, but then it ended up being an overall romcom sitcom au that is entirely divergent from the canon universe that the characters could be considered ocs (not enough to be though…) and the cast is all “genderswapped” ?? But that’s not really the right term for it, I guess the fem - appearing characters seem more masculine, and vice versa ?? Anyways. Lloyd is called Lihua, and Benthomaar is Benthesikyme, they live together, Lihua runs a flower shop on the lowest floor of their shared home, while Benthesikyme is a rising surfer athlete — annd it turns out all the characters are either reincarnations or immortals deciding to live beside the mortals.

I could’ve never settled on an actual design so everything was all experiments…

I’m ending the year with a compilation of some of the Lloyds and Benthomaars I drew this year (and never posted on Tumblr). I didn’t really draw much this year compared to the last or yesteryear but, this year I had more ideas than the capacity to draw. Anyways, I am definitely also explaining some illustrations to fill in the content if there r any… And THIS is the next one (there will be a followup to this)

Fluttering fireflies (Pt 1)

“You only have one tail,” Triton said in disappointment.

As the first words that his immortal brother could have said to him, it could have been a lot worse. In fact, if Percy considered all the ways it could have gone, Triton could have begun the conversation by picking out all the features that made him young, weak, an upstart god, and undeserving of existing let alone setting tail in the palace.

And so, Percy cheerfully pointed out, “Look on the bright side. At least I have two eyes.”

“Why does that matter?” the god asked blankly.

Well, it mattered because two eyes weren’t always a guarantee when one happened to be born the son of Poseidon and a mortal turned nature spirit. Then again, when the alternative was being a cyclops, Percy would have preferred being the ordinary merman he was pretending to be rather than one of Triton’s beloved two-tailed merpeople.

“He’s perfect the way he is,” Poseidon interrupted before Percy could open his mouth and let a quip fly.

“Of course,” Rhodes agreed. “I didn’t know you and mother were planning to have other kids though.”

Considering the number of children Poseidon had, Percy rather doubted any amount of planning had been involved, ever, but he held his tongue.

He wasn’t a son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, after all.

“Ah well,” Poseidon hedged.

“Not again,” Kymopoleia burst out, slamming her hands on the table. “Once again, you’ve gathered us here to celebrate your virility under the guise of celebrating a new addition to the family!”

Before Poseidon could do more than puff up in offense, Kymopoleia sneered, “Has it ever struck you that you keep having more kids but none of the old ones ever come to visit? Maybe if you put a halt on having more kids and focused on taking care of the ones you already have, you wouldn’t have to keep creating more to hide the fact that everyone but a newborn hates you?”

“Depends on the newborn,” Benthesikyme input judiciously. “Some of them are born with a startling degree of perspicacity.”

“So you have problems with him too?” Percy asked curiously.

That brought his arguing half-siblings to a stop.

“Too?” Kymopoleia inquired after a cautious pause.

Percy nodded.

“What did he do, promise you the world only to end up locking you up on an island?” Rhodes threw a jibe at Poseidon.

“Call you his prince and then treat you like a glorified errand boy?” Triton shot archly.

“Marry you off to a mortal and forget you exist?” Benthesikyme smiled.

“Or was it even worse?” Kymopoleia grinned with sharp teeth. “Create a being in his image only to retroactively realise that he’s really not all that and the kid’s just too destructive to have around his precious?”

“What are you anyway?” Rhodes followed up curiously. “A shark hybrid that has lungs instead of gills, a seaweed creature that requires meat to survive, a whale that can’t digest water? What problems has your parentage saddled you with?”

Percy tapped a finger on his chin, taken aback by the plethora of complaints. “Um,”

“He’s a god!” Poseidon input forcefully before Percy could come up with a palatable answer. “The newest one in the world, in fact.”

So new he was only eighteen years old. Practically infantile, really.

“What are you a god of?” Triton inquired, leaning back in his chair with an assessing gaze.

“Don’t know,” Percy answered uncomfortably. “I just make storms.”

And have disturbing dreams, create volcanic eruptions, and accidentally destroy bridges. Percy was destruction in a nutshell, really.

But even offering a watered-down version of his skillset or lack thereof didn’t stave off the outburst.

“So not only is there a new god in town, it’s also my replacement!” Kymopoleia shouted.

“I’m not a replacement!” Percy burst out, shaking his hands wildly. “I’m not even god of all storms or anything! Just hurricanes. On land.”

Kymopoleia stared at him incredulously. “Wow. You’re not even a subordinate. Just born, and you’re already halfway to dead.”

“Stop being so dramatic,” Poseidon commanded. “He’s a god, he’s your brother, and you’re going to include him while carrying out your duties.”

“So … you mean not only do I have a snot-nosed little brother, I have to babysit the kid now?” Rhodes concluded.

“Don’t take it personally,” Percy commiserated. “First I heard of this was when he came to my birthday, for the first time ever, and gave me a sand dollar and a tour around the palace with my family. Funnily, he never mentioned just who was going to be part of this family trip.”

Benthesikyme sighed. “He’s insensitive that way.”

“At least you’re all getting along, even if it’s about how much you resent me,” Poseidon said, sounding unsure whether he ought to be worried about that.

Percy dared to pat his father on the elbow. “Get used to it,” he advised. “That’s how all well-adjusted siblings bond.”

well hera gets a cabin, why shouldn’t they? they’re the big three’s wives, they literally all deserve cabins. who cares if they don’t have demigod children, hera doesn’t and she gets one! and all three of them are queens. like these bitches know what’s up and they deserve some respect.

AND! why are only zeus’ kids on the olympian council? why not any of poseidon and hades kids? why isn’t triton or melinoe or benthesikyme on the council? why are their wives not on the council? but zeus’ kids get too and his wife? that’s not even right.

Chapter 2, Part 4: The Sea Protects

Amphitrite, after some comfortable silence, reaches out her green hand to hold Loki’s. Loki startled but held her hand back. Her hand was soft, and even though it was much bigger than his hand, their hands fit well together. Her hand was strong and deft like a skilled warrior and craftsperson, different from Loki’s delicate hands that were forced to train but would mostly craft magic and potions and turn book pages. 

“I know our family is filled with tragedies, but I hope to get to know your child, know their life, in the short time I’ll have with them, if you’ll let me.” Amphitrite looks imploringly at Loki, her gorgeous blues starting at Loki's greens.

Loki smiles wetly, “I would like that too.”

Amphitrite smiles fully, her lips showing sharp pearly white teeth that look deadly and beautiful, “I would also like to get to know you too Loki, the one who is so beautiful and kind to have attracted my husband.” The queen says as she looks over Loki’s frame sultrily. 

“Of course, only if you allowed me to.” Amphirtite added softly.

Loki blushed bright red. He noticed how beautiful Amphitrite was, from her deadly grace to her regal presence and adored how kind and understanding she has been, but Loki feels a bit overwhelmed right now to think about more romantic or sexual relationships with these beautiful gods.

Loki looks into those glittering blue eyes, “I would like to get to know you too, but as a friend for now. I’m just really overwhelmed right now.”

“I’d love that,” Amphitrite smiles softly and squeezes Loki’s hand assuringly. They sit in peaceful silence, which allows Loki to calm down and await Poseidon and Triton.

Then, Poseidon comes back with Triton, both having tear tracks down their faces, and they sit opposite Amphitrite and Loki.

“I want to be in the child’s life,” Triton states abruptly.

Loki is shocked for a second before he smiles warmly, “Of course. They’ll have to know their big brother after all.”

Triton eyes go large, before his grins, “I’ll be the best big brother there is.”

Amphitrite smiles and then gains a steely look, “Now we just have to discuss how to keep the baby safe.”

They all gain serious looks, and start to discuss what to do going forward.

“We need to keep the baby a secret. They'll be better protected with fewer gods knowing.” Amphirtite starts, and the rest of the gods nod in agreement.

“We’ll keep it in the family.” Triton nods.

And Loki feels his heart fill with love. He and his baby are family just like that?

However, that brings a question to Loki’s mind, “What about your other siblings?” 

Poseidon and Amphitrite share a sad look, and Triton grimaces.

“Well, many of my children haven’t really visited in centuries, and some like Kympoleoia for millenia.” Poseidon answers sadly, his green eyes shining.

Oh, Loki thought. That’s… so sad.

Amphitrite nods along, her crabs claws on her brow clicking mourningly. “Yes, and even Rhodes and Benthesikyme who visit the most still hardly stay around.”

Triton sighs, “I think it’s best to keep it to us four for now, and maybe talk about introducing more of my siblings after the baby is born.”

“Speaking of the baby, do we have any clue of if they are going to be Greek or Norse god, or somehow both? And how will we raise the baby and keep them safe in each circumstance?” Amphitrite implored.

Loki looked down at their still flat midsection and sighed, “I have no clue. I’ve never had a child before, and I can’t remember reading about any children being born from inter-patheon mixing.”

Then, for some reason, Triton and Amphitrite look to Poseidon alarmed, and Poseidon grimaces. 

“This is your first child, my star?” Poseidon asks gently.

Loki looks confused, his green eyes looking at Poseidon weirdly, “Yeah why?”

Poseidon clears his throat, “Well I thought that maybe you had other children like, um, Hel or Sleipnir right? And oh Styx, how old are you?!” Poseidon adds on panicking.

Loki looks at Poseidon in disgust, “I’m 1036 thank you very much. 536 years passed Asgardian adulthood thank you! Just because you Greeks have thousands of kids doesn't mean the rest of us gods do! And do you know how Sleipnir was conceived? And don’t answer that. I know you Greek gods have a weird thing for beastiality.” 

Loki gags, “I’m sorry, but I am just not into that. Sure, I turned myself into a fair share of animals, but I will not, nor will ever have sex as one! And I have never even met a person named Hel, let alone fathered them. Hel is just the name of one of our afterlives!”

Poseidon’s and Amphitrite’s cheeks light up in embarrassment when Loki points out the Greek’s… habits.

Poseidon coughs, “Um yes, well, good to know.” 

Triton rolls his eyes and looks at his parents in disgust, “Disgusting. I’m glad that all that sexual and romantic nonsense doesn’t affect me.”

Loki wishes he could nod his head in agreement after that conversation.

“Also I can’t believe you’re younger than me, but so are most if not all of my parents' lovers.” Triton adds on, his golden fins shuttering.

Loki makes a face of disgust, he doesn’t want to dwell on their age gap, they're immortals for Norns sake!

“Anyways, um, I believe that the baby will be a mix of Greek and Norse.” Poseidon inserts in, changing the topic of conversation back to what they started at. (Not at all because he was embarrassed. Of course not.)

Loki looks at Poseidon bewildered, “How could you possibly know that?”

“Well I saw it.” Poseidon simply says.

‘What?’ Loki thinks, and then repeats out loud, “What?”

Amphitrite huffs fondly, “I’ll explain, or we will be here all day.” Poseidon starts to protest but Amphitrite silences him with a glare. Poseidon huffs and crosses his muscled blue arms. (What? Loki’s free enjoy the view of his handsome sea god)

Amphitrite rolls her crystalline eyes and continues, “Poseidon used to hold the domain of prophecy before Apollo was born, and remnants of that domain still linger. So Poseidon likely saw a vision of your child.”

‘Oh, that makes sense,’ Loki nods his head to Amphitrite in thanks.

“What exactly was the vision, and when did you have it?” Loki asks Poseidon curiously.

Poseidon smiles fondly, his shark-like teeth glinting softly. ‘Gods, Poseidon is so hot!’ Loki gulps. Maybe he needs to rethink his stance of beastiality a bit, or at least the attraction with some animalish traits.

Poseidon's deep voice continues, obvious to Loki’s dirty thoughts, “It wasn’t super clear and the child’s face was blurry, but last night I saw a small child around 5 summers old run up to us saying ‘Daddy, Mommy, Mama, look!’ and they held up their hand which had a small cut on their palm, and instead of caring that they were bleeding, said, ‘Look my blood is all glittery? That means I’m a vampire, right?’”

“And our child had red and gold blood, but our child just smiled so bright and happily and said, ‘That means that I’ll be five years old forever right? I’ll be like Peter Pan and go on adventures and save the day!’ And then my vision ends.”

Loki smiles, tears in his eyes. His child is going to be precious! He can’t wait to meet them!

Amphitrite squeals in happiness, “This means the child will be a child for much longer than us Greek gods are. We age to adulthood very quickly and don’t really have childhoods. So this means I’ll be able to spoil them and play games with them, and oh do dress up!”

Triton rolls dark blue eyes fondly, “It will be quite nice to have an actual child around.” Triton fondly remembers playing with some mer children some time ago, how happy and pure they were.

“This also means that the child can pass as a demigod.” Poseidon has to add and the mood grows somber.

“No. Poseidon, please don’t be thinking what I think you’re thinking.” Amphitrite looks imploringly at Poseidon. Her bright blue eyes shimmering with tears.

Loki looks down, he has a feeling he knows exactly what Poseidon is talking about. Based on the prophecy about a half-blood that was assumed to be about a demigod, but is actually Loki’s unborn child and will be both Greek and Norse — a half-blood, who would determine the fate of Olympus. And one can’t just determine the fate of an entire patheon by having a peaceful childhood when the prophecy says “A half-blood of the eldest gods shall reach sixteen against all odds.” Which means that his child can’t stay hidden from their world forever.

Triton's dark eyes filled with rage, “We already know that prophecy demands that the child will die at sixteen, and now you’re saying that we should hide the child’s true heritage and powers and identity from them?! So they can play a demigod and just become one of the thousands of dead child soldiers for Olympus?!”

“Triton!” Poseidon yells, “The fates leave us no choice!” Poseidon can still feel the phantom chains on him, even now when prophecy has long since left to his nephew.

Poseidon looks away frustrated, the sea around them growing increasingly choppy with the sea gods’ emotions.

“Stop it!” Loki yells, his bright green eyes glowing, “This isn’t helping, and for now we just need to worry about keeping my baby alive for as long as possible, and if it means hiding their Greek and even Norse heritage from them until they have to immerse themselves in the Greek world and fight their monsters, then so be it!”

The ocean calmed down as Triton and Poseidon looked away guiltily.

Loki felt sick to their stomach. He was just like Odin. Seeing into the future and being a cold father and merciless to his children, giving them no choice for what they can like or dislike, to force them to be warriors for the “greater good.”

Amphitrite breathed in and squeezed Loki’s hand comfortably. And Loki closed his eyes and took a deep breath in to calm down.

Loki smiled appreciatively at Amphitrite.

Notes:

Loki definitely has the hots for Amphitrite, but wants to take it slow for now.

Also, as you can see, Loki does not know who Hel (or rather Hela is)... yet. Also, see the parallels in hidden heritage between Loki and Percy? One was done in foolish greed, and the other was for protection.

Lihua groaned loudly as she rose out of bed, her eyes still partially closed. She yawned and grabbed some comfortable clothes, pulling a t-shirt that definitely was not Benthesikyme's over her head and a pair of light green pajama pants. Today, neither of them had to go to work, which was both rare and a blessing.

She walked over to the kitchen, seeing the brown-haired woman humming gently as she waited next to the coffee pot. Similar to a zombie, Lihua stumbled over and latched onto Benthesikyme's back, earning a little squeak from her. She turned her head, and it seemed like her whole day had brightened.

"Good morning, how was your hibernation?" She joked, pressing her lips to Lihua's blonde hair. The other woman mumbled in response, burying her face into the crook of Benthesikyme's neck. "It was boring since you weren't there." She yawned, feeling her arms instinctively wrap around the other.

"I love you too, koúkla."

(koúkla means doll in Greek, correct me if I'm wrong I used google translate)

Usually my brother Hades babysits my kids. My little Benthesikyme is very fond of her uncle. While Rhode is absolutely adored by adamas. Zeus gets to see them from a distant.

Sometimes my wife’s relatives also watch them.
