SCARS mending - accentuated - unique Another project by photographer Ben Winkler of women midlife & up! ‘ I seek to always be working on projects of social, emotional and impact of defining beauty and its definition!’ SCARS is a visual conversation around the issues of our paths, often impacted by times of physical hardship of illness or accidents and the visual traces left behind. I envision dialogs about the before, during, and after and the impacts on our lives. I understand that everything under the sun has been done before and this project might not be all this unique but I strive for open & raw conversation around it and me trying to put my visual interpretation to it! Scars from head to toe, any kind, any size. I got the inspiration form KINTSUGI, a japanese art form mending broken vessels with seams of gold and in doing so highlighting their uniqueness and value! Wear your Scars, they are proof that we live, that we made it through this step, let’s live today, tomorrow is yet to be written! Many might say now but what about invisible emotional scars, that’s not what this project is about yet very much so if they are connected or as a result of these physical signs - Let’s start the conversation of beauty midlife & up in ALL its forms!
