This makes much more sense than canon, for Goddess sake!

If a prophecy is going to talk about there being a king who will unify a lot of kingdoms and people and who will bring back magic and a golden age, One wonders why him? Why not someone else? What should he do? How will he know he has succeeded? All of those questions remain unsatisfying in the canon for me, honestly.The growth that Arthur's character had (and I love him), was not enough to make him the great King he was destined for. There were chapters where he even regressed to being an idiot or blind, too rooted in his father's prejudices, even when at times it seemed that he would finally leave those teachings aside, He relapsed on it

In this fic, he is given the opportunity to learn and grow. Because he definitely had great potential, a heart of gold, and leadership skills like no other.It's beautiful to see what he could have become as a person and as a ruler if he had been given the opportunity.

Emrys' mission was to protect and guide him and perhaps Merlin fulfilled it as much as he could, what was left of Arthur's part was a very well constructed journey by the author. As a very enamored fan I kept asking myself about Merlin, "but when is he going to appear? He must be part of it too." But at the end of reading I think it was very successful on the part of the author to make him a protector from afar.It is real and well deserved that he had his time to heal physically and emotionally.

All his work as Emrys cost him friends, family, and his identity. At some point he stopped being himself and became an extension of the prophecy, living and breathing for Arthur To bring it to what it was meant to be. However, he "Over protected " Arthur at some point. (A mistake, but I don't judge him. After so much trauma, he didn't even know who he was, poor thing.)

So I thank the author for giving Merlin his own journey of healing and finding himself even though we didn't accompany him on it like we did with Arthur.I want to believe that he was mainly healing but also learning, perhaps through trips to druid camps and helping whoever he could.

I almost always like Gwaine's overreactions. I like to imagine that he is protective of Merlin. But in this case I was touched that none of the knights, neither Gwen nor the others, They allowed Arthur to feel alone, and they also demonstrated the value of the Round Table by always being active voices of wise advice. Sometimes as a fandom we forget that they are not there only because of their skill with the sword.

Gaius is a shining star in this, such a fatherly figure, adorable

GEORGE WAS A TREASURE, GIVE HIM A PROMOTION. Not only did he care for Arthur in such a warm way, but he keeps Merlin's memory so well preserved that you want to be his friend and even listen to his Bad jokes to make up for it.

Agravaine was a nice plot twist. Again, it makes more sense than what the canon did. Loose ends were tied up here that helped the narrative flow of events. Great job.
