I love that when one starts watching the Poirot series, there's no explanation who the hell Hastings is.

The first few minutes you get to figure out that Poirot is a detective and that Miss Lemon works for him. But who is Hastings? Why does he follow Poirot everywhere and just reads newspapers in Poirot's rooms? Does he not work? Why does Poirot cook for him? There's no explanation and the viewer just has to go along with it.

judging by the fact that you've only just recently started tagging posts as rust cohle: i have such great news for you about truetective s4, both wrt its narrative throughline with season one (unlike other seasons, which are independent stories), and wrt its main pov characters vis a vis the exact type of Fucking Awful women they are (jodie foster's role in particular)

i actually watched night country before i started watching season 1! got it recommended back when i was on my polar horror kick (obviously alaska isn't either of the poles, but the environment is close enough). i enjoyed it a lot, especially jodie foster's and kali reiss' roles and relationship as danvers and navarro. it's been fun now that i've decided to check out season 1 to be able to recognise the references to it that were in season 4.

Still trying to find a tie between everything that happened in the second episode of 4Minutes and the near death experiences they talked about in the first episode.

I appreciate all the theories others have made on the series, but I need Den to appear again and give me more info about it. Why is Great having this power if he never experienced NDE in the first episode? Or has he already experienced it and it wasn't shown yet? I feel like it doesn't have to be him who experiences them, but all the others.

The lady was trying to kill herself and he went back to the past. Same for Dome, he was being beaten to death by Title and Great came back 4 minutes before it happened. However, it doesn't work when it comes to Tyme. So it makes him special. Is it only because he is his future love interest? Can't be that easy... There is something more with Tyme that we don't know yet and I don't think it's just because of the last minute of the episode.

This series is truly making me elaborating harebrained theories.

I'm watching it like it's the BL version of Minority Report. Instead of John Anderton, predicting he is going to murder a man whom he has never heard of and , I have Great predicting he is going to sleep with Tyme.

ok while I was on my plane ride from hell I rewatched Some Assembly Required and Giles is such a failure (affectionate.) Like. He couldn’t even practice asking her out on a chair without failing. He kept stumbling over his words when he tried and when she decided to roll for initiative he was barely able to say anything. Like she asks if he wants to stop for Mexican before the game and he can’t even respond in words. He just sort of attempts to say something and fails and nods instead of speaking. When she says the word date at the game it takes him like half a minute to process. Same with when she says second date. Hell he so flustered preparing to ask her out that when Buffy Willow and Xander are talking to him he barely responds he's just like “oh right murders. Bad :(“ And when they leave he’s like “wait no please :(“ like buddy what are they supposed to do. And then after Jenny asks him out he’s like. So happy he even does a little jump (just like me fr he got the zoomies).

I realize I’m predisposed to see Spirk after all the time I’ve spent in fandom but I’m watching Star Trek for the first time and it sure is interesting how literally the first thing we hear or see regarding Spock and Kirk’s relationship is Uhura saying “[Kirk]’s the closest thing [Spock has] to a friend.”

I wonder if they will explore Liko and Onyx's rivalry a bit more after this episode. It feels very intentional that we got Amethio acknowledging Liko by name and as a person with her own goal in HZ065, and Onyx also acknowledging Liko by name and as a worthy opponent in HZ066, even willing to reveal his own name as a sign of respect and telling her not to forget it (and Liko acknowledged him in turn and said his name as he was leaving). Adding to that, all the similarities between Onyx and Amethio (and even Liko), as they are honorable opponents..

This episode concluded the battles between Liko and Onyx, and Roy and Sango that were built up ever since the end of chapter 1. Liko and Roy went from not being able to face them in HZ025, to holding on their own with difficulty against them in HZ043, to finally winning against them in HZ066. So I wonder if there will be more opportunities for interactions between them all in the future (Onyx telling Liko to remember his name possibly hints at more developments later down the road), or if Liko and Roy will now be put up against other Explorers opponents such as Spinel and Agate. So far, Friede is the only who stands a chance against Spinel's Blacky.

Either way, it was fun seeing the contrasts between Liko and Onyx's battle and Roy and Sango's battle. Liko and Onyx's last interaction felt very formal, and Onyx thought of his mission and tried to take Terapagos when he had the opportunity to do so. Sango didn't care about any of that and said so herself, she just wanted to have fun. And Roy actually went along with her fun, and kept battling her until their battle reached a conclusion. Sango genuinely seemed to have fun going all out during their battle and wanted to keep on going too.
