Most unhinged moment in TWST Wonderland that made you go:
I love this game.
can I just say the entire front half of episode 7 chapter 8, because everything about it was BONKERS in the most absolutely delightful way. genuinely this might have been the funniest single update yet. we got Idia's directorial debut! big stronk Epel! and. just. gestures to the entirety of SavanaRook. (then Vil went into a spiral of murdering people that culminated in punching the manifestation of his own insecurity in the face, and that was good in an entirely different kind of way, but I digress)
if I have to pick one though, I'm gonna go with Idia's video, because 1) adorable, 2) seriously just look at it, and 3) I did legit have to replay that subchapter on account of laughing over most of it the first time. truly Idia is the artistic genius of our generation.

people critizing those of us upest about the finale and claiming that people dont have media literacy are conveniently forgetting the fact that the creators have been pedaling this show as groundbreaking for the queer community since day one (and it WAS). so when youre attempting to pioneer a genre/theme (in this case, queer love) it's perfectly reasonable for people to have critique of how things are handled. hell, i happen to think there are plenty of ways Izzy could have had a gratifying death in the show. But thats not what happened. Let people have their feelings about. Just block people if you dont like their take, it's not that hard. But maybe take a moment to think about why people are upset.

And the harronir is so fun, I love themmm. They're a properly freaky fantasy race and I'm very interested to learn what their deal is (and if my guess that they're a "missing link" between night elves and dark trolls, or at least an offshoot of dark trolls, is correct)

also to the surprise of noone, hallowfall is my favorite zone thus far and almost makes me want to change someone back to a human (almost), despite the ringing deep being BASICALLY the deep roads, complete with red crystals, crystals sprouting out of people, people hearing creepy singing and a dwarf named varric
Other thoughs, that is CLEARLY A *REDACTED* INSIDE A *REDAAAAACTED* and earlier thoughts from Thursday the *REDACTED* effectively no longer existing due to *HOLY FUCK REDACTED* that's a huge *REDACTED*

this isnt to persuade to watch more opla, but i just wanted to let you know that they do clarify what they mean by "good". and i thought id share that bit with you since it was one of your compliants and you dont plan on watching more. also, since it is garp who clarifies what "good" is then it is implied luffy grew up with that being his definition of "good" too. i doubt it qualifies as a "retcon" since it happened in the same season, but still (garp @ kody and helmeppo: "following orders does not make you a good marine. it's following your code. all men have their own brand of justice, and you both followed yours, so well done.") that was my interpretation of their insistentence on "being good" anyway
right now it seems that it's shanks's influence "a man has to be good" (btw rest in peace to the "yeah luffy cool knife now do something stupid ha ha" shanks) that's the main driving force behind luffy's insistence that he's a good guy. and i feel like... it just... it's making luffy seem so blaaaand 😩 like when nami says "all pirates are bad" wouldn't luffy shrug and say something like "ok! believe whatever u want, i don't really care" (and then a tertiary character like zoro would say to nami "watch what he does next" implying the subtext in this scene is actions are louder than words)
it makes sense for garp to say that to koby and helmeppo! but there's also an interesting obscurity that's lost when characters say out loud what they are within the narrative. luffy is of course a good person, but him saying it multiple times to different people does something weird to his character. to me
the antihero isn't a new trope (and luffy is barely an antihero) and i think the average netflix viewer can read between the lines. i wish the showrunners could've trusted our media literacy more

Getting back into World of Warcraft has reminded me just how much the writing team is stuck in 2004. No matter how good (Legion) or bad (Shadowlands) the writing, it never stops feeling like a story from the early to mid 2000s. Which really sucks, tbh. Not just because FFXIV exists and its story is incredible (I’ve only gotten through Stormblood, no spoilers), which definitely makes the anachronistic nature of WoW’s writing all the more apparent. But because much of the game’s more interesting decisions are let down by it. Sylvanas’ tenure as Warchief, for example. She could have repeatedly beat her head against the wall trying desperately to protect a society (the Horde) who distrust her at best, and hate her at worst. Her plans with the Jailer weren’t her priority until her own people betrayed her. That’s when she decided to burn everything down, because it’s pointless to try to help people who will always see her as a villain. Instead… she’s just kinda a villain the whole time. Shadowlands is awful for her particularly, because it paints everything she’s done as part of her long term goals with the Jailer… But maybe this isn’t getting my point across. How about the shear number of romantic pairings, and how often they’re used to fully inform character decisions? Or the way they keep forgetting the Horde is an oppressed minority constantly under threat (until Dragonflight that is) by the imperial Alliance? Like, why were Garrosh and Sylvanas evil? How was that a reflection of the world they were ruling in? Oh, Garrosh was just an evil would-be conqueror dreaming of the glory days? And Sylvanas never cared about the Horde in the first place? Only seeing them as a means to an end? Oh… well that doesn’t make much sense? Doesn’t that paint minorities as power hungry individuals who want more out of greed and not a desire to be equal in their world? Like… and what the hell was up with Jaina in BFA? Either she’s still bitter over Theramore and freshly bitter over Varian, or she’s ready to make amends with the Horde. And like, the Alliance story should’ve been her arc— now I’m just complaining about the writing in general, whoops. But like, the constant straight pairings, the failure to sufficiently elaborate on minority villains (and I believe minority stand-ins can be villains, you just have to write them in a way that doesn’t just challenge the establishment but their own people as well, while having their goal come from a sympathetic place— aka, well written Magneto, or, like, Killmonger), the way romance is a motivating factor, the writing of every single female character… the list goes on. As much as I enjoy this game (toxic as hell community aside), I really struggle with the outdated writing decisions

here's the stuff about me pertaining to sanders sides!
★ my favorite side is roman, i actually kin him and relate to him a lot!
★ my least favorite side is patton. i don't think he's evil or anything, but i am very critical of him and i make him the antagonist in a lot of my aus.
★ my opinion on the sides from favorite to least favorite are as follows: roman, logan, remus, virgil, janus, patton.
★ i am an avid remy enjoyer and i think emile picani is cool.
★ i do a lot of canon-deviant headcanons such as race headcanons, pronoun headcanons, and disability headcanons. i am very respectful of these things and do lots of research, mainly because such headcanons are usually projections of myself and my own experiences.
★ i write a lot of sanders sides fanfiction and roleplay ideas, as well as aus. feel free to use anything you'd like for inspiration as long as you give me credit! i've had my work stolen before and it doesn't feel good.
★ my favorite ships (in no particular order) are roceit, prinxiety, logince, literally all poly combos of roman/logan/janus/virgil, intrulogical, analogical, dukeceit, remy/roman, remy/remus, remile, roman/emile, and loceit!
★ my least favorite ships are pretty much all patton ships and remrom. i'm not a remrom destroyer who will burn down your house if you ship remrom (as long as they're like- not explicitly brothers) but i'm an identical twin so the idea of them being in love is super weird to me lmao. i can't take it seriously.
★ i love talking about sanders sides please talk to me about sanders sides! especially if it looks like we have a lot in common!

Reactions to spoilery cutscenes
Curiosity got the better of me, and I watched all the cutscenes that WoWhead posted from 11.0.
Spoilers and rambling below.
[Disclaimer: These are just my poorly-organized thoughts after watching cutscenes online without much context. Take them with a grain of salt.]
First, the prematurely-gray elephant in the room: Khadgar. I really enjoyed him as a character and I will miss him. Was it a fitting sendoff for such a huge lore figure? Not in my opinion. It was basically copying Rhonin's death (although at least this was in game and not in a novel). And Atiesh got broken, too. As a mage main, that made me cringe, and the destruction of my home city didn't feel good, either. The visual effects of it blowing up in a void explosion were impressive, at least.
Moving on... From what I've seen, I like what they're doing with Moira and her son, and their dynamic with Magni. Talk about a redemption arc, going from the Worst Father of the Year to doting grand'da. Aww. I'm not sorry to see the diamond shell go away. It was stingy of Azeroth not to give him any armor to keep, though. Harumph.
As for the new short folk...I love their blue gryphons, but otherwise they're not my cup o' tea, aesthetically, and I feel like the mechanical motif should stay with the gnomes and mechagnomes. Also, dwarves without Scottish accents seem so wrong. I know that's a ridiculous thing to say because why the hell did that get to be a thing anyway, but it's what we're used to. (Incidentally, exposure to WoW dwarves helped me do a killer Scottish accent when I want to. My best friend does a great Irish accent, so sometimes we'll greet each other in our respective fake accents. Maybe you have to be there, but it amuses us.)
ANYWAY...
Warcraft has always had a vaguely cartoony style. In the last several years the quality of the character models has improved noticeably. I feel like Blizzard is struggling to find a happy medium wherein it still has that signature Warcraft vibe while taking advantage of the improved graphics. Which is a long winded way to say that I find Anduin's detailed eyelashes and the M.C. Escheresque intricacies of Alleria's hair distracting. Anduin's facial structure, stubble, and the under layer of his hair look somewhat realistic, but the top layer of his hair and his vividly blue eyes look like they're from a different universe.
Speaking of Alleria, I don't understand the need to completely redesign her character. Funky winged eyeliner and an asymmetric cape, a totally different color palette, her hair all over the place...it's like she's a completely different character. Sure, a real person can have a major makeover and that's totally fine, but when you're dealing with a fictional character who has a distinct "look" to them, you should have a very, very good reason to throw away the familiarity/recognition you've already established. I felt a little bit that way when Jaina got her makeover for BFA, but since she's by far the most prominent human woman in the franchise it was easier to adjust. We have how many rail-thin high/blood/void elven women now? A lot. They could have done some cool, subtle things with slowly changing her Legion-era outfit to be more void-themed over time, but I suppose that would require extra modeling work that would deprive the playerbase of a raid tier...
I have no idea who Aelric Leid is, but I'd know Jim Pirri's voice anywhere. I'm glad he's still around the franchise after Nathanos was sent off to live happily ever after in a quiet corner of Ardenweald with his true love after she rescued him from the maw and you can pry that headcanon from my cold, not-undead hands killed off.
So we have a Wrynn not climbing about the fleeing ship with his allies but instead jumping down to fight the thing trying to destroy said ship, even knowing it will probably lead to his death. GEE, WHERE HAVE I SEEN THAT BEFORE?! Okay, I have to admit that did give me some feels. There's a fine line between poignant, thematically significant callbacks and gratuitously echoing past imagery while screaming, "Look! It's the thing! You remember the thing, right? Here it is again! Isn't that cool?" I'm looking at you, tons of Arthas parallels they pushed on Anduin in BFA and Shadowlands. Ahem. So yeah, I see what you did there, Blizzard, and I don't hate it. Let me conjure you a mana cookie.
Ansurek looked SO much cooler before her void power-up. She looks creepy af with all those red eyes and the stuff on her head, yet she's got a normal human mouth and a cutesy nose. WTF? Come on, let the creepy spider queen be monstrous! Trust me, people will still want to fuck her. Source: I've been on the internet.
"With our renewed strength, our kingdom shall be reborn." Zzzzzzz... Huh? Wha'? Oh. I'm sorry, I could have sworn I've heard this schtick about 874 times already.
Is Alleria really stupid enough to think she can kill (the equivalent of?) an Old God with an arrow? There's no way a shapeshifting being of the void could possibly put up an illusion or teleport away at the last second! /facepalm (Although soon after she was able to gut-punch Xal'atath to make her back up, so maybe it wasn't such a dumb strategy... I dunno. I'm just judging a bunch of short cutscenes out of context.)
A Windrunner sister gripping her bow so tightly we hear the leather squeak. Never seen that before, either.
I do like Xal'atath so far. She's got the sultry voice of Azshara, the (over)confidence of Lich King Arthas, and the creepy wrongness of her Old God pals. Voice aside, she's not as sexualized as a lot of her predecessors in the franchise, which is a relief. (I love Azshara to bits but she must have used massive amounts of double-sided tape and/or powerful magic to keep her boobs in that dress back in her pre-naga days.)
So yeah. I watched the in-game cinematics. There was some good, some bad, and some stuff I like to clown on but wasn't actually that awful. I can't say that it made me reconsider my decision not to play the expansion, but I'm glad I know a little bit more about what's going on.
Now, since they so rudely destroyed Dalaran, I'll have to picture my mage curling up in the library in Stormwind Keep, instead. Because that's what I imagine she does when I'm not playing the game. ;)

I'm sorry if this is spoilers, but I really need to know for my own well-being. Are you going to kill Daniel? Normally I'd assume no, but now I'm side-eying that fic where you killed Austin and aren't sure anymore
Not any time soon, at least =) I've already imagined his reaction the lightning strike, so, y'know. He's safe up until that point, at least.
(hell, I already know what BfA!Buck's coma dream would look like.)
Fun fact! The reason Austin Jones is in Born for Adversity is because I decided at some point that someone had to die in the bridge collapse in Darling, So It Goes but I didn't want it to be any of the canon characters. Jones got chosen as the unlucky fellow, and then I had to make him more than just "silent guy that drives the truck" and I got attached.

New Intro, Who Dis?
Hello, my friends! When I first made this tumblr in April, I went very bare-bones with the intro... I'd like to amend that!
Pseudonym: Twist (or TwistTheScript on Ao3)
Age: 21+
Pronouns: She/They
About Me: I'm a college grad with a BFA in Musical Theatre, though I've dabbled quite a bit in stage management, scenic building, costuming, and lights (I initially wanted to go into lighting design, but life had other plans). Currently, I'm a stay-at-home caregiver for a family member recovering from major surgery. It gives me quite a bit of down time to write and create.
I've thrown a few pictures of my favorite feline co-writer in the mix: He's my one-year-old-allergen. I first discovered I had an allergy for cats when I was small (5-6 ish) when I had a beautiful calico cat named Sparkly Star. Never let a 5 year old name an animal. The allergy is still very much there, and it makes me drowsy at times, but I'm stubborn and he's my beloved fur-son. We love the feline co-writer.
Favorite Shows:
Hadestown
Ride The Cyclone (I'd be concerned if it wasn't at this point)
Beetlejuice
Bonnie and Clyde
Six (Heart of Stone was one of my senior recital pieces)
Wizard of Oz (I played Glinda/Auntie Em. It was my final show)
I Never Saw Another Butterfly- A Holocaust straight-play. It's beautiful, and very much worth the watch or read if you ever can. I SM'ed/ran lights for this show, and designed my school's lighting plot.
Other Interests:
Wizard101/Pirate101- It's nostalgic. I used to play it with my dad after school sometimes.
The Forest/SoTF
Baldur's Gate 3
WolfQuest
Minecraft
Roblox. It's free. Enough Said.
I'm not really a movie/TV show person really, but I adore old 90's/2000's cartoons (I was a 'Winx' and 'Courage The Cowardly Dog' kid growing up) and Strange Magic has my heart.
Dislikes:
Anyone who bashes something without trying the thing they're bashing.
Major Drama (I'm called "Twisted Tea" by a few close friends for a reason- but that's over petty drama... don't tell anyone)
Racism/Homophobia/Transphobia/Bullying. If I see it on my page, I will not be a happy human. Don't make me become an unhappy human.
Writers/Artists that put other Writers/Artists down. Don't be a party spoiler. Everyone starts from somewhere.
Whew. That was a lot to type! If you made it this far, welcome! My ask box is always open, and I try to engage with friends and followers whenever I have the bandwidth to do so.
<><><><><><><>
While I'm thinking about it... and since this is a good spot to put it... Y'all know of my Ao3. I have a permissions statement in my profile now since I have a few works under my belt. I'll throw it here too:
'My works should be read only on Ao3, with links for them on my Tumblr; If they're found somewhere else, let me know ASAP. I do not give permission for them to be on any other site. Anyone who puts them on another website can go step on a Lego. Also, if my work inspires you and you'd like to leapfrog from one of my fics, you have my permission to do so- just credit me somewhere or use the handy 'inspired by' feature!'

Toodles!

Haven't played 6.3 - 6.5 yet but I don't really care about getting spoiled because the Post-Patch always seems to be its own beast and only the last half of X.5 ever points to where were going next. And I gotta say, that I haven't really cared for the Thirteenth Shard shenanigans. Sure it gave us more void lore but like...we got the legion of Doom lead by Armored Lex Luthor. Who, just like Fandaniel, went on and on about the plan and how us defeating the fiends only furthered his plan and now that we defeated him his REAL plan is coming together and like...a villain going on and on about plans and how every move we make just feeds into their future plans is what got me to leave BFA and made me never touch Shadowlands and care more about levels 84 - 90 than 80 - 83. I kind of preferred it when a villain isn't skulking around and talking about their plans, you know?
Gaius was a fun interest cause there was an interest in the Primals and us for slaying them. But up until Ultima Weapon is revealed its just us ruining Old Man Baelsar's plans by unmasking his co-horts and he would of gotten away with it too if it wasn't for us meddling kids.
Heavensward takes us on an adventure to discover the true past of Ishgard with the over arching theme of not believing in vengeance or blind faith to uncover what is historically being hidden by those in power. But with Nidhogg slain half way through its little wonder Thordan is the enemy and we know what he's after, he's going to Azys Lla for some purpose and he wins the key because we lost the blessing of light back in ARR but we get it back and turns out he wants to turn into a Primal. He didn't go on and on about his plans he pretty much just threw a wrench into whatever we were doing or sent us out to distract us.
Zenos pretty much just lounged around like a bored house cat until we became the Warrior of Laser Pointers and then he took interest in us. Fordola and Yotsuyu fighting us out of sunk cost fallacy had more going for them than Zenos did and they didn't go on and on about a plan.
Emet-Selch was an antagonizing force but he only shows up at the beginning of Act II for the most part we're just running around slaying Lightwardens for the good of the First and Vauthry is just there to try and stop us. His end goal is just to stop us and we're trying to save the world. No one goes on and on about a "plan". Or how us defeating Lightwardens just furthers their plan. Emet wants to see if we're capable of handling all the light wardens light and be an unofficial but honorary Ascian in all but name. Vauthry just wants to stop us. Ran'jit wants to get Ryne back. And G'raha with us is trying to save the world and us at the cost of just his life. Fandaniel and Golbez are just standing around monologuing about everything going to cake (cake means keikaku which means plan) and they're like...REALLY boring. Ya know? I am MORE invested in how much of the animation budget goes into each Post Patch making a singular dish look like softcore porn for us. Than I am for whatever the fuck Golbez is doing.
Spoiler me away but you know...tag for people who don't want to be.

i finally finished the stormbringer stage play (I dragged my sibling into watching it with me) and now i am sad :( It was the last stage play that I left out on purpose because it's literally my favorite light novel. stormbringer spoilers with my stupid commentary below
(you don't have to read this if ur looking of sb content. this is just me talking)
I'm actually so impressed by Verlaine's stage actor. I'm a performer myself (i got to an arts school and im getting a bfa in performing arts as a dancer) and that performance with the whole Rimbaud scene was literally amazing. It was so nice to see text turn into a scene and his stage actor really kept my attention on his monologue.
I actually really enjoyed the little scene with billiards, but I knew what was coming next... :( I felt like to went by really fast, so I was sad to see The Flags go.
Dazai's actor is just Dazai. The way he explains death is so Dazai, though I will say he does run his lines quite quickly (but I can also see Dazai doing that).
Did I cry watching this? No, but will I cry if this becomes an animated movie? Abso-fucking-lutely. I think seeing this whole thing being fleshed out into scenery already through a stage made me sad, if I see it go full force with animation too, I will be sobbing crying breaking down. UGH ;;-;;
GO WATCH IT IF U HAVENT!!! IT'S LITERALLY SO AMAZING
