Haven’t had time to write the post about Baby Poldine’s first hike to the torrent yet, but here are some photos! <3 She was nervous and therefore very clingy / cuddly, it was so sweet. And I’m glad all three cats followed us because she loves them and they reassure her a lot.

i got a goose tattooed on the inside of my forearm today and it was a flash piece but it's my favorite tattoo already it means everything to me i could sob

#i love geese so much and so deeply i named my dog after them #goose is my black dragon dog and my loyal faithful companion and my entire world #i just love these birds #they are so misunderstood as aggressive and scary when really they just are sensitive to spatial pressure #and they need a wider diameter than humans are often willing to give #but they are so beautiful i love their long graceful necks and how i can recognize their sounds anywhere #and that no matter where i live i see their little v's in the sky #and of course wild geese by mary oliver is one of the first poems i fell in love with #my english teacher deborah read it aloud to us in high school and it made me want to go outside and to stay alive #and when my gf and i first started dating i knew i loved her for lots of reasons but one of them was that she also loved geese #she told me she had a shared folder with her family members titled “geese i've seen” that she would put her goose photos in #so her entire family could witness them with her #i remember when i was sick with anorexia a few weeks before i was hospitalized a v of canadian geese flew over me on my way into work #and these big fluffy snowflakes were falling down and i could hear them calling #and it made my eyes well up #and i hoped they would get somewhere warm enough for winter #whether or not people have respect for them is a wonderful metric for gauging somebody's character #at the grocery store i worked at when i was 18 the only coworker i grew close to had a similar affinity for geese #she had a necklace of one #a little silver glinting goose in flight :'')#personal

I had paused when I'd seen a little green cicada mournfully dragging itself over the sunlit pavement.

Oh no! I thought in dismay. He will get Steppied Upon and Squashily Crunched!

So, like the generous soul I am, I squatted to offer my hand for him to crawl upon. He went right for it and I smiled at his funny little claws on my skin. A friend.

I lifted him up up up into the air, turning to search for a good spot of safety. However, by chance, I noticed his leg twitching oddly. Gasp! Is he okay?

I scrutinize my passenger.

THIS FUCKER IS SLURPING ME!!!!!!!!

(Note the small black pipe from its snoot area into my skin. That's the piercing mouthpart, sort of like a mosquito's, that cicadas use to poke into tree bark for sap.)

LOOK AT HIM POKING HIS CAPRISUN STRAW MOUTH INTO MY HAND!!!!!!!!!!!! WITHOUT CONSENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The audacity!!!! The nerve!!!!!!!!!! This idiot thinks I'm a tree!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so offended.

Of course, I easily grabbed him, plucking him from his CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.

examining a seemingly normal image only to slowly realize the clear signs of AI generated art.... i know what you are... you cannot hide your true nature from me... go back where you came from... out of my sight with haste, wretched and vile husk

#BEGONE!!! *wizard beam blast leaving a black smoking crater in the middle of the tumblr dashboard*#I think another downside to everyone doing everything on phone apps on shitty tiny screens nowadays is the inability to really see details #of an image and thus its easier to share BLATANTLY fake things like.. even 'good' ai art has pretty obvious tells at this point #but especially MOST of it is not even 'good' and will have details that are clearly off or lines that dont make sense/uneven (like the imag #of a house interior and in the corner there's a cabinet and it has handles as if it has doors that open but there #are no actual doors visible. or both handles are slightly different shapes. So much stuff that looks 'normal' at first glance #but then you can clearly tell it's just added details with no intention or thought behind it. a pattern that starts and then just abruptly #doesn't go anywhere. etc. etc. )#the same thing with how YEARS ago when I followed more fashion type blogs on tumblr and 'colored hair' was a cool ''''New Thing''' instead #of being the norm now basically. and people would share photos of like ombre hair designs and stuff that were CLEARLY photoshop like #you could LITERally see the coloring outside of the lines. blurs of color that extend past the hair line to the rest of the image #or etc. But people would just share them regardless and comment like 'omg i wish I could do this to my hair!' or 'hair goallzzzz!! i #wonder what salon they went to !!' which would make me want to scream and correct them everytime ( i did not lol)#hhhhhhggh... literally view the image on anything close to a full sized screen and You Will SEe #I don't know why it's such a pet peeve of mine. X-Men comics are so insane. So I'm reading the New X-Men: Academy X right? Context before this is New Mutants and that ended with Magneto attacking the school and completely wrecking it. So in Academy X we find out a kid with teleportation powers name Jeffrey died. but he died between jumps so he's basically a ghost. Now as a ghost he's haunting the school because he died and no longer thinks it's safe for anyone. He's like throwing knives, teleporting people, and making tables float. But like the comic ends with him going back to class, as a ghost. Imagine coming for your first day at a mutant school and you get introduced to a kid who died but still comes to class.
