Im kinda so very much out of the vivziepop helluva boss loop since its been a while since I watched anything of hers (And because spme of the writing and some of her...choices character design wise turned me off from interacting further) but one thing I will never not have in the back of my mind is how they portrayed striker* as being unreasonably petty and angry at the mistreatment of imps and that his agenda was misguided hatred.

When from what I get in lore from what I remeber that imps systematically are treated like shit and so infantilized by higher-ups that they are treated as pets so I honestly I dont blame him for being a hater as well as not understanding why anyone would--esp an imp would wanna be in cahoots with these infamously elitist classist set of assholes.

Saying "Are you even gay????" in response to a lesbian trying to distance themselves from the predatory behavior that society has deemed an inherent part of being attracted to women is so fucking sick and twisted. Saying that men treat the women they're friends with fucked up when they don't give them some ass and lesbians usually don't do that isn't "demonizing men." It's noticing a pattern of behavior born of misogyny. Nobody is saying that men are incapable of seeing women as just friends and nobody is saying it's wrong to be attracted to your friends, we're saying that treating your friends fucked up cause they don't wanna fuck you or only making friends with someone in the hopes that they'll fuck you then cutting them off when they don't is something a lot of men do (mostly because they're expected to) and we (lesbians) don't want to be associated with that behavior! One thing that’s so interesting to me when I approach the batfam fandom stuff is the discourse between canon and fanon. There are those who ignore canon completely and push the characters into what the fans have evolved them into through certain roles and angst opportunity. And then there are the people who are staunchly against fanon and only portray the character as they would in canon. And honestly, both sides have rights here, you can be rigid with canon characterization and be right but I also believe that people creating their own versions of the characters by building on the comics is interesting as well. Both sides can take it too far, and both sides can be wrong as well. Everything is just on such an interesting spectrum in terms of characterization.

Like yeah sometimes I’ll read a fic where fanon dick is acting like a goody toe shoes big brother/parent and I’ll be like “he’s not really like that” but still enjoy the story.

I can also enjoy the ultra canon dramatics of mean bat fam and watch dick be a complete asshole while also being a good brother.

So, personally, interpretation is something that I enjoy, but acknowledging that it IS an interpretation and is not 100% accurate is still very important to me.

For this month I'd like every single person who has made Jews feel unsafe on college campuses in the name of revolution to grow the fuck up!!!! The pro palestine movement is such a good, important movement with absolutely genuinely positive intentions, but I am sick and tired of pretending that, over the past few months, a great many people haven't used this movement to take their masks off. Not only have antisemites completely infiltrated the movement, but actually good, well intentioned people are spouting antisemitic rhetoric, not out of hate, but because they don't know that it's antisemitic. I should not feel unsafe at protests. I should not have to keep hearing people telling me that the things they are saying and doing are not antisemitic, as though Jews do not know exactly what is and isn't dangerous and awful to us. As time goes on it is harder and harder for me to interact with people who call themselves pro palestine, because no matter how much I agree with their views, their intentions mean NOTHING when they are contributing actively to the harassment of Jews. A good portion of us are TERRIFIED. Everyone seems to be celebrating things that actively call for our downfall, we are being CONSTANTLY gaslit into believing that the antisemitism we are actively experiencing doesn't exist, and literal Holocaust survivors have been warning us that it is starting to look like 1930s Germany and telling us to GET OUT. And I know. I just KNOW. The responses to this are going to be "No we just hate Zionists" or "stop victimizing yourself when there's a genocide going on" or something like that. To that! I say! Fuck all the way off. Why is it that every single fucking minority or oppressed group is allowed to tell you when they are experiencing hatred and oppression except Jews? Since October 7th I've been treated like shit by people I thought were friends, I've watched the entire world talk about how much they hate me. Nobody appears to give a shit about the hostages, nobody appears to give a shit about the people raped and murdered on October 7th, nobody appears to give a shit about Jews at all.
