Here’s Part 4 of the TOME ‘Season 3 What-If’ story, with a surprise reveal at the celebration.

“Our second announcement”, Webmaster proclaimed, “is that Netking Software are bringing some new members to our team. I believe you might recognize them if you’ve seen the Gemini Tournament.” 

“Are they doing what I think they’re doing?” Flamey whispered to Alpha. “I’d like for everyone to give a warm welcome” Webmaster continued, “to the newest members our team. Please welcome our new Netkings, Zetto & Kizuna!” 

And in a bright flash, both Zetto and Kizuna appeared on stage to great fanfare, and Alpha and the gang’s delight. 

And that’s when it clicked for Alpha. So that’s why he showed up as Kirb this morning, he realized, with Zetto now in the public eye as a Netking, this meant he could use the Kirbopher account as his downtime to hang out. 

Knowing this, he joined his friends in the applause as Nylocke belted a jolly “TRIUMPH!”

@katie-the-pyro-girl finished! I was indesicive about who would get which colors so I just made it be who each of them fought. My favorite is Gamesoft (unsurprisingly) but I can’t express how difficult it was to do Flamegirl because Kindarspirit has like two colors in her outfit

it's so hard to choose dude but honestly i think im gonna have to go w/ zetto. not only for the kinnie/DA bias but also bc there's so much that i think goes unsaid about his character and he's just so complex in such an interesting way. like he's just such a layered and emotional character i love theorizing abt him (aka projecting jdbrjfnntktnk)

tbh im not sure but i think it's gotta be elescope. he's neat and idfk why i like him but i do. i think he's shaped and he reminds me a lot of my own OCs for seemingly no reason

this one's arguable for Sure but i think it's just. the virus itself. not even in the form of kajet, just like. by itself. it's such a fucking interesting and upsetting concept to me; a conscious being that exists soley because of and for pain/suffering. it's forced to feed itself on suffering to survive and even risks it's own existence trying to do so, it's whole fucking world is Hurt in every sense of the word and it's desperate to exist. the virus is unnerving and uncomfortable and obsessive and violent and volatile and i love it for that; i think it makes for some excellent psychological horror.

ummmm rubirules. :] he literally saw a miracle of technology that was essentially a child and went "is anyone gonna exploit that" and then didn't wait for an answer. HE ALSO FUCKING! manipulated zetto!! into thinking that his trauma was His fault!! and convinced kizuna that she was right in being overtly paranoid about sofdti despite her being literally a fucking. little pink fairy child AI who was filled with light and love and was just genuinely curious about humans ?? AND THEN PROCEEDED TO FUCKING BETRAY HIS ENTIRE TEAM AND CONVINCED ZETTO THAT ALPHA'S SUFFERING WAS BECAUSE HE WASN'T WORKING HARD ENOUGH AND ENCOURAGED KIZUNA'S SHITTY BEHAVIOR AND JUST GGRGRGRHRGRHRHTG

alright, so here’s my ideas so far! this is in no way final and i am greatly open to suggestions! beware for vague/not-so-vague tome spoilers below

instead of the terrain of magical expertise being a video game, it is instead the metaverse! its sorta like persona 3, where the shadows all exist in one place rather than palaces like in p5. in this au, having a persona is a lot more common in recent years, and it’s unknown why. while its still a secret to the general public, a fair amount of people venture through the terrain to deal w/ shadows. realizing your persona is also not limited to just teens in this au, with young adults also able to do so. so far, here are the personas and confidants ive figured out, but as said above, please feel free to leave me suggestions for changing personas/arcana and the personas of other characters! if you want to ask why i chose to give a certain character their arcana/persona, please ask! Here’s Part 8 of TOME ‘What-If Season 3′ story, where we see the return of both a friendly and unfriendly face.

After they had finished their battle, and Kizuna was about to log off, they received a message from Webmaster:

Sorry to bother you all so soon after the ceremony, but we have a visitor that wishes to discuss something that relates to the events of 4 months ago. Head to HOME as soon as you can.

“Sounds pretty serious if it’s addressed to everyone”, Kizuna noted, “who would want to discuss that again?”

“Maybe it’s that CPD agent Alpha and I met that day. His name was... Giga, I think?” Flamey pondered, “Yes, that’s his username”, Kizuna confirmed, “I heard from Execk that he’s Webmaster’s main contact from that organization for any emergencies involving TOME or SOFTDI. We were lucky that his superiors allowed the game to stick around.”

“Wow,” Flamey was surprised, “I guess he was pretty essential to seeing TOME got off the ground after the virus incident, huh?” 

“From what I hear, he likes the game too”, Kizuna smiled, “Kinda nice knowing there’s a heart behind the metal exterior.”

“Yeah, it does,” Flamey agreed. “So, shall we head up?”

When Flamey and Kizuna arrived at HOME, they were just a few minutes behind Alpha and the rest, who were greeted by the Netkings and brought in to where they were meeting their guest. When they were brought in, they were met with Giga, whose masked had been lifted to show his face, as well as an unwelcome surprise.

Standing behind Giga, in a not-so-welcoming manner, was Rubirules, one of the former Netkings who was responsible for the many trials and tribulations wrought upon the group. Alpha and Zetto, understandably, were not elated by this reveal, “What the HELL is HE doing here?!” they yelled, almost in unison.

Rubirules scoffed, “Nice to see you too, kid. Glad to see you know how to make a guy feel welcome.” He turned his head to face Zetto and Kizuna, “Congrats in joining the ranks, you two. I’m surprised you even took the job Kizuna, considering how you feel about the ‘bot.”

Kizuna looked to the floor with a more sombre look, leaving Flamey concerned. “You just back off from her”, Zetto simmered, “or I’ll give you something to be surprised about.” “That makes two of us,” Alpha agreed.

“That’s enough! Cool it, you two”, Execk insisted, maintaining his calm demeanour, “I’m not exactly thrilled to see him either, none of us are. But I can assume there is a reason for it. Care to enlighten us, Giga?”

Giga, who had been patiently waiting to speak, nodded in agreement. “Very well. To keep it as brief as I can, Rubirules is currently under what we’ll call ‘escorted parole’. His Netking privileges are limited by the color around his neck and his actions will be monitored. If he does anything that might jeopardise TOME or its inhabitants, he will be brought back into full custody.” 

“So, to sum up”, Rubi spoke, “I’m on bail, so long as I help Giga in this case he’s got going on.”

Here’s Part 3 of the TOME ‘Season 3 What-If’ story, bringing in the rest of the Netkings as our heroes officially celebrate their triumph over the Challenge of the Netkings.

Another reason Alpha & co. were brought in, Webmaster explained, was to officially celebrate their completion of the Challenge of the Netkings.

“While we wanted to properly celebrate your achievement, we wanted to wait until everything calmed down first. We didn’t want you to go straight into celebrations after what happened 4 months ago. That’s why we’re pairing it with a second announcement today.” “Does it have something to do with Master Zetto, Lord Webmaster?” Nylocke inquired. Execk chuckled at the remark, “You’ll have to wait and see”, he smiled.

Soon enough, the event was underway with crowds in the green fields of Sanctuary. Officially, it was stated that Gamercrazed and Kirbopher were thankful for the invitation but could not attend due to personal matters. Regardless, they were still celebrated alongside Alpha, FIamegirl and Nylocke for their shared achievement. 

“You have all received your wish”, Webmaster began “and it was our honour and pleasure to grant it. As proof you successfully conquered the Challenge of the Netkings, we would like to present each of you with a Netking emblem. These will allow you access to both the sun & moon of TOME.” Alpha and the others were stunned, all they could say in response was “Thank you.” After receiving their emblems, they were asked to pose for the broadcast camera to show the emblems on their characters.
